anyway saejun nation pspspspss

saejun !! THE beloved if u will

he regularly speaks korean but learned english after meeting nightmare and killer

i love to think he's very very strong, he can beat the mtt in a fistfight kind of strong (not like he would, but he'd win)

he can cook decently but he'd choose his brother's cooking any day (even if pilsu is still um learning)

he also really likes spicy dishes !! he bonds over that with dust !

he'd forgive ppl who steal from the farm but he wouldn't forgive harming the crops

he HATES pesticides (i think this is canon actually) but also really hates strong smells in general

sleepy 24/7 he lays in the grass to photosynthesize (he just passes out, pilsu wakes him almost every time)

probably knows a lot of offhand herbology/biology trivia (he can explain the aerobic and anaerobic cycle by heart)

his general attitude toward the mtt/bad sanses is not to pry unless they're the ones who open up to him (even now he only rlly learns about their situations through nightmare who doesn't talk that much about it anyway)

he accepts mtt with open arms and its that accepting (almost forgiving) nature that makes them so super attached to him !!

for me, it's the concept of meeting a version of yourself that lives the most peaceful life and being happy for him, but ALSO not being shunned by that alternate version for being violent and hurting the people that you both love

as for how saejun met mtt, my general interpretation of it is that nightmare struck a deal with saejun for food supplies in exchange for manual labour (so mtt and nightmare help a lot with the harvests! the only ones who really know about it is pilsu, saejun, anseung, and suggu)

killer // 고통씨 (Mr. Misery/Grief)

saejun meets killer first and was the only one helping around the farm

i don't think saejun would be the type to pry into their pasts so he doesn't question killer about himself or anything

killer is the one who opens up to him one stormy night after a stage 3 episode where he holed himself up in the shed and saejun found him cold, shaking, and curled up embracing himself

he calms killer down and tells nightmare abt it and that's how he finds out about killer's past (he doesn't bring it up, but he's always there to help killer after his panic attacks)

he likes to do the chores with killer most of the time just in case he has a run in with chorongi or suggu (the kids are very silly and tend to mess with him and he doesn't know how killer is with children)

they photosynthesize together and sometimes nightmare just comes to get killer in the evening and finds them in the grass

horror // 취급주의 (Handle with Care) or 주주씨 (Mr. Vermillion)

he meets horror second (after he gets kidnapped by nightmare) and saejun isn't really scared of him because he figured that he probably has some hidden issues like killer

saejun thought horror was really fragile at first (because he was very thin and had a skull injury) so he actually had him do mostly little chores like going to the market or gathering eggs from the chickens

after a few months killer doesn't come in (was sent to a mission somewhere else) and saejun needs someone to handle the heavy hay bales (<- he could've done it himself but hes lazy) and horror just kinda Does It and surprises saejun

he starts to depend on horror more and actually admits that he was underestimating him out of concern for his wellbeing and horror says its ok because he was also underestimating saejun (until he saw him carry killer AND a bunch of crops home that one time)

they start to cook together and do the heavier chores (while making silly jokes abt killer) together

horror starts to learn korean by talking with dorihye, saejun, and pilsu as well as asking nightmare for some reading material ! (after finding out that dust also speaks korean, he starts practicing conversation with him !)

dust // 유골씨 (Mr. Ashes)

saejun's meeting with dust was noooot planned at all, nightmare just kinda forced mtt into a portal to farmtale during one of errors visits

horror mostly stayed with dust at first who was just dead silent and stayed in one spot (saejun asked if he wanted any drinks and it took ten excruciating seconds before horror had to answer water for him)

its not until pilsu comes into the house and greets killer and horror and makes a remark about a new brother that he starts to actually talk

dust doesn't exactly warm up to pilsu and more like forces himself to because pilsu starts to ask him what his favourite pasttimes are, his favourite food, if he wants any snacks, etc (killer and horror went through the same thing)

dust eventually gets carried off to the kitchen to cook with pilsu and that's how pilsu finds out dust speaks fluent korean even though they have different dialects

saejun goes into the kitchen and has a little talk with dust (where he learns they both speak korean !! and that that's why dust wasn't speaking that much !) and they bond over pilsu's silliness (dust talks about how his papyrus also loved to cook etc etc, saejun notices that its in past tense but doesn't dig any deeper)

dust eventually starts to visit farmtale with horror frequently to exchange makguksu and ramyeon recipes with pilsu !!

dust is also relatively close with dorihye, anseung, and suggu who tend to remark that "the other saejuns dont really talk much" to which horror always chuckles

1. What kind of relationship does WT Frisk have with Nightmare & co? Is it family-like or is it friendship-like? Does WT Frisk get along with all the bad sanses?

2. What if WT Frisk met Ink and Dream first? What would their relationship with Frisk be like?

3. I know that in your fanfic Whither then, Frisk has some kinda nonchalant attitude about dying again and again. What kinda of reactions would the skeleton bros have when finding out that Frisk has died so many times to point of Frisk becoming numb to dying?

4. I know I’m asking a lot of questions, so sorry about. But I love your fanfics and they make me happy and sad when reading them. If Frisk agreed with Red to stay immortal and stop aging, would all the multiverse sanses and Papyruses be happy about that?

oh no this was buried in my askbox, I am sorry for losing it for so long! So without further ado:

1. Does WT Frisk get along with all the bad sanses?

Yeah! I'd say in the bad sanses au (mostly readable here) Frisk gets on well with mostly everyone--those of them with specifically Frisk/Chara-related trauma might take a while to adjust, but most of them have already met Frisk before they even get to Nightmare's place. This is after Frisk and Dust have been traveling together for a while, so of course they get along. They actually have to work more on the idea of being separated sometimes, when Dust goes on missions and Frisk isn't constantly with him. They've been traveling together for several universes, and while Frisk is an independent kid, Dust has been about 3 feet from them, max, for much of that time. Mostly because he doesn't actually have any means of traveling through the multiverse himself, besides just catching on Frisk's shoulder as they go. If they'd happened to go and leave him behind, he'd be stranded. Thus, the two of them were more or less attached at the hip, especially towards the end of any given run. I think that habit would be hard to break, even when they're rooming with several new people and Dust has a sorta-kinda real job.

Likely, this starts out with Frisk just hanging out with Horror, and Dust coming with them as a matter of course while they do things he's not particularly interested in. So, Dust and Horror reach a comfortable mutual tolerance fairly quickly, mostly because Dust is apathetic and Horror is busy enjoying the reunion. But I imagine the first mission they go on is a whole stressfest for everyone involved, given Horror's abandonment issues, Frisk's abandonment issues, and Dust's discomfort with addressing social situations without Frisk to run interference. So, that would be a Time.

2. What if WT Frisk met Ink and Dream first?

Hmm. Let's say it's maybe a sort of Outertale situation, where Ink and Dream happen to be in a world that they're monitoring for Shenanigans when, lo and behold, a Shenanigan drops in their laps!

This is never covered in Outertale bc Comet doesn't know about it, but the general outcode community deals with people not being where they belong by trying to find some place they can belong in. Being as it's pretty unsustainable to try sending Frisk back to UF, they'd likely try to set them up with an AU that's expressly for homeless universe-wanderers. That way, Frisk isn't wandering through AUs that aren't supposed to have an outcode presence in them, and there's a minimum of interference. So...I think that lands Frisk in some place like the omega timeline, or haventale?

I think somewhere like that would be pretty good for them, actually--they're surrounded by people who have all also lost their homes, and loved ones, and who are also trying to build a new life after all of that. Somehow, I see them making friends with a post-genocide version of one of the swap bros? Or. actually. Disbelief!Papyrus. To my understanding that's Classic Papyrus as the survivor of a genocide run in which Sans was killed before the Judgement Hall, so Papyrus is the one to wait in the Hall and confront the human for murdering his brother. I think that Papyrus would have a lot to say about Sans as a flawed but beloved individual who is now gone forever, which Frisk would be able to empathize with after their experience with Red. I think after some initial wariness, they could be dear friends to one another.

3. What kinda of reactions would the skeleton bros have when finding out that Frisk has died so many times to point of Frisk becoming numb to dying?

Well! Not best pleased, of course--learning that a loved one has died, even if they're back to being alive now, can't be easy. Of course, the Sanses generally know, or suspect--Red absolutely knows they've died, and has some specific deaths that he deduced in fairly accurate detail from Frisk's reactions and his own nightmares/deja vu moments. Ironically, he also has some nightmares about deaths that didn't happen, and assumes that those are also real. Blue, if you recall, thought he'd killed them in a past genocide run; Black and Slim were both aware of the possibility that they could time travel but ultimately dismissed their suspicions when Frisk proved to be able to REFUSE instead. US!Papyrus has learned that they can time travel and has done his best to take it in stride, but has avoided thinking too hard about the implications of that. Shy was also intellectually aware of the possibility, but he decided he didn't want to know.

However, in terms of new information, I think Fell would take it the hardest. He would see it as an absolutely crushing failure--not only did he not keep them safe from their own brother, he didn't keep them safe at all. He would seriously start to question whether he's of any use to them at all--which, given his ideas about attachment, would lead him to feel he doesn't have a place in their life. He would definitely take it personally that they died so much when he was purportedly protecting them.

I think his ultimate decision, reached without discussing the matter with anyone else, would be that he's Definitely Failed as a brother, both to Red and to Frisk, and he's just not capable of keeping anyone safe. Clearly he is simply not meant to experience love. He can save his world from itself but he can never keep a single person from suffering. I think at this point US!Papyrus would step in, because clearly someone has to, and remind Fell that he's still extremely violent and paranoid. If it came down to a duel to the death to keep their respective siblings safe, Fell would win by a landslide. This would actually make Fell feel better. Surely, if US!Papyrus is worthy of love despite being totally unable to kill a dozen people in an afternoon, Fell must be fine. He will just do Better from now on. No One Will Ever Die Again. Which is good, considering that murder is illegal now due to Fell's extensive efforts.

4. If Frisk agreed with Red to stay immortal and stop aging, would all the multiverse sanses and Papyruses be happy about that?

Well, I think that depends on exactly how they come to be immortal...I think the easy answer would be to absorb a boss monster's soul, since boss monsters don't naturally age, and go from there. Which would be an unpopular plan, generally. Especially since Frisk is quite young currently, and not at immediate risk of dying, barring unusual circumstances. It would just seem like a drastic move for a time that's so far away.

I think it would also depend on Frisk's attitude on it--if it's something that they're relieved about, or something they were pushed into, or even something they approached Red about in the first place.

Exceptions exist--Red would be both smug (he did a Good Thing. no one else even thought of it but he did) and quietly relieved; Fell would disapprove of Red being a bad influence on Frisk if the method were particularly violent but would notably not obstruct the process and not let anyone else stop it, either; Slim would be all for as long as Frisk was alright with it; and Black would insist that it's their choice and his approval or disapproval isn't what's important here. Though he would be likely to corner Red later and convey his gratitude through terrifying and questionable means.

Sfrisks would think that all of these people are insane.

“So, basically what you do when you come to an AU where the residents are suffering, you contact the Sans - and maybe the Papyrus as well depending on their temperaments and multiversal awareness - for information as well as gathering information that’s recorded by either the Alphys, Undyne, Gaster or Science Person, depending who is the Royal Scientist at the time and how much information that they record on how the inhabitants of the underground - or monster society if it’s an AU where monsters are trapped elsewhere, like in Outertales, Chesstales or Underkeeps? And from there you approach the leaders of monsterkind - or whoever is trapped if it’s a human AU - with an offer of freedom and the resources that they need in order to better live and begin to thrive, rather than scrape by and mostly survive? Whether it’s the Dreemurs or their equivalent, or if it’s more segmented, the individual leaders of the different regions of the AU?” Dream summarized, frowning a little as he tried to piece together everything that his other half was saying.

“That is correct. There are also AUs where plagues or radioactivity run rampant in either the surface or below ground or both, in addition to the lack of resources and space, compounding the suffering that they are going through. Then there are AUs where the monster/human war has never stopped raging, and both sides are at a bitter stalemate.” Nightmare responded, nodding a little, not entirely surprised that Dream knew nothing about these AUs. From what his other half had told him, Ink had been very careful to keep him away from AUs where the sentient beings in them were suffering greatly - to limit Dream’s temptation to meddle in order to help them. “From the worlds whom I’ve already had contact with, ruling and guiding, I can send excess resources to worlds who need the aid and help.” This was all more or less true - under his rule, things had gotten better for the average citizen in those worlds.

Dream nods a little “That makes sense… Wow, that must be an awful lot to try to keep track of! I’m pretty sure that I wouldn’t be able to handle doing something like that, haha… You’re so smart and organized.” Dream murmured, nuzzling into his beloved and purring a little, looking down and away. How much help could he really be to Nightmare? Unless of course he did his best to distract Ink from the fact that Nightmare was interfering with multiple timelines… Dream was very good at being a cute distraction. “I’d be happy to do whatever I can to help! “Hey no, none of that, Dream.” Nightmare murmured sternly, gently cupping the other’s chin with one of his hands, sensing the other’s discouraged uncertainty. “You’re more than a pretty face and a warm presence. You always have been, at least to me. I know that I can be a bit… Harsh and unforgiving with the mortals. I do have a council of Toriels, Asgores and Gasters who help me run the administrative and legal side of things - as well as some Sanses. Dust, Hatchet and Killer are my front line fighters in worlds where things can be… Chaotic and I need to make a statement before the warring sides will realize that I am not some random monster to be ignored or attempted to be manipulated. You are my light, my balance… My sense of mercy and kindness, Starlight.” He gently kissed the other’s teeth before pressing his forehead against Dream’s.

The positive guardian felt himself blush brightly at the other's words, and a shaky smile appeared on his face as he relaxed into the other’s embrace. “I… Thanks, Night. I really will do all that I can to help you.” While he was a little bit shaky on how the other fully ran things - and had the impression that the other was probably hiding some things from him, Dream could also sense that his other half really did intend to improve the lives of the beings in the AUs that he came across. The fact that he would have access to their negativity more easily was… It was an incentive for his beloved to help them. He was really curious about the worlds that his other half was ruling, and wanted to ask if the other would show him some of them so that he could explore.

“I know that you will.” Nightmare answered with a warm smile as he gives the other another light kiss “There’s an Outerfell I’v recently acquired as of a few months ago - the monster-human relations are going better than I previously had expected… Would you like to come with me? We can explore the AU to your heart’s content and I’ve missed hearing your perspective on things.”

Dream’s eye lights brightened a little and he nodded eagerly “That sounds wonderful!” He knew a Sans from an Outerfull, though the other hadn’t responded to texts or phone calls in a while. He hoped that Nebula was doing alright - there was a chance that the other was trying to struggle through a series of no-mercy runs (again) and was unable to answer because of that. “Outerfell and Outertale are both incredibly beautiful AUs… Outerswap is too, of course.” Comet was incredibly adorable and Sirius was a fun sparring partner.

“I can’t say I’ve ever visited an Outertale or ‘swap, but I can imagine that such alternate timelines are just as breathtaking as their Fell counterpart.” The negative guardian responded with a small smile as he flicks one of his tentacles in front of the both of them, opening a portal to the Outerfell that he’d been speaking of. Nightmare had to… Prove his strength to both the humans and monsters by destroying half of their fleets single-handedly. But after that little show of force, both sides had backed down and listened to reason.They still needed more minding than most of the other AUs that he possessed - but Fells could be very stubborn, and Outerfell had a great deal of technology and space - along with centuries upon centuries of bad blood and bitter sentiments on both sides… Which he delighted in gaining strength from and did nothing to fully heal.

Dream nodded and beamed, gently taking one of Nightmare's hands with both of his as he eagerly stepped through the portal and tugged his beloved in after him. The positive spirit paused for a moment, gasping a little as he took in the brilliant splendor of outerfell. “Oh… It's really quite beautiful here…”

Nightmare smiled warmly at that and nods “I quite agree - these AUs are a favorite of mine to visit - though I do what I can to ensure that I spend equal amounts of time in each of the worlds I have aided.” He hums softly as the two of them began to wander the star path through the relatively unused path to where Stardin was. “I may need to attend to a few things here, but if they do come up, it shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours. Feel free to come with me… But I have a feeling that you’d enjoy exploring this AU a bit more than going to stuffy meetings with me.”

The positive spirit hummed for a moment, trying to decide which he’d rather do… Dream could imagine the sort of meetings that Nightmare could get pulled into and they did not in the least part appeal to him… There was also the fact that his presence by Nightmare’s side would be a distraction - he could only guess how much of one he might be. “I think that I would rather wander around the AU - I did give you the number for my phone, right?... Do you have a phone? If not it’s not like you can’t find me if we’re in the same timeline.”

“I have several phones, actually. But I’ll give you the number to my direct and emergency phone, so that if needed you can get my attention quickly.” Nightmare murmured.

They exchanged numbers and Dream double checked that he’d typed in the number correctly by sending the other a text saying {I love you, Nightlight! <3}.

The other’s phone chirped once and he hummed as he looked at the text, before chuckling and pulling the positive spirit in for a hug “I love you too, daydream.” Nightmare murmured softly. The two of them hugged for a little while, with Dream purring ever so softly. Both of the emotive guardians were very glad to be together again.

Dream slowly let go of the love of his live and the two of them wandered their way towards Stardin, in no particular hurry to get to the small starport, walking while holding hands. They talked about the constellations that they could see for a time before lapsing into a companionable silence. They’d nearly gotten to the hub when Nightmare’s emergency phone went off.

Both of the guardians stopped walking and Nightmare sighed as the space-themed edgy music played, and he answered after a moment “What’s going on?” Nightmare asked, voice calm and commanding. He paused for a moment as he heard the other person speak, his face and body posture betraying nothing - though the surprise and irritated resignation in his aura certainly spoke of something going on “I see. I happen to be visiting your world, as a matter of fact. And they’re demanding that this happen…? Very well. I will be there in moments. Thank you for informing me immediately.” The other hung up seconds later, shaking his head as he turned to face Dream, gently grabbing both of his beloved’s hands, looking and feeling distinctly unhappy.

“Let me guess - there’s something that’s come up and you need to soothe ruffled feathers or screw stubborn idiots’ heads on straight? I’m well aware of how… Growly Fell monsters and humans can get… Especially in the beginning few years and decades as they try to figure out how to integrate with one another.” Dream murmured, leaning in close and pressing a gentle kiss to the other’s teeth “You did warn me that you might have to rush off for a little while. Call me if you think I can lend a hand?... Though I do know that Fells tend to only respect those who show force and are intimidating looking on the outside, along with the power to match up their words… I am well aware that I do not look the least bit threatening to anyone.” His positive aura also didn’t help in the intimidation department, either. Not that Dream usually cared about that sort of things… But looking all soft and adorable probably wouldn’t help whatever issue that Nightmare was being summoned to deal with.

“You're correct, love. Also, I'm certain that you can be intimidating when you wish to be. I know that you've made rather a strong first impression on dust, horror, and killer. Then again, the situation is a rather delicate and you fighting those and followed to to prove that you are every bit the skilled Warrior that I am, would not necessarily help things at this point in time.” Nightmare responded, smiling a little as he leaned into dreams personal space and gave him another light kiss to the teeth. “I have no idea how long this will take, but it shouldn't take more than a couple of days at most. And as I will be negotiating with Mortals, they will need a brakes for sustenance and sleep. So it should be able to tell you how long this issue may take at the first break if it's not immediately solved.”

Dream nodded, smiling a little and answered after moment “I'll explore the au, and I will try not to find whatever trouble is going on. But I will keep my eyes and ears open to see if I can learn more about whatever situations going on, if it's something that isn't just at the highest levels of whatever hierarchy is in place in this timeline.”

“Very well. Do try to stay safe, love.” Nightmare responded, letting Dream’s hands go before teleporting off.

Ink (Warm-up) Inktobertale Day 1

So, I’m bad at art, of any kind, so I used the Inktobertale prompts for writing. This is also going to be on my AO3 account, soo, yeah.

Ink belongs to @mybei / @comyet (didn’t know which one to use)

Ink was splattered all over the room, looking like a paintball had been shot. Which, to be fair, isn’t that far from what actually happened.

Ink didn’t mean for it to happen, he just wanted to try splatter art! Though, with his track record? Probably should have made sure to put up something to protect his other drawings and paintings alike. Thankfully, none of the ink seemed to get on them!

Why did you do it with ink? Isn’t it supposed to be paintsplatering?

“Well right you are, Creator! Buut...why not do it with my namesake?!” in the safety of his own home the Protector of AU’s was able to communicate freely with the creators of his beloved Au’s. Whenever he answered them anywhere else, people tended to look at him funny. Not that they don’t alreading, but, to make people believe I’m less crazy than I am.

The finished project of Ink’s was colorful, and currently not dry, and unless he wanted to watch ink dry he now had to find something else to entertain himself with.

He decided to finally do the line art on one of his drawings of a battle that happened a few months ago. Funny thing about Ink’s memory is that, while it is short-term and he forgets stuff a lot, he tends to remember the most random parts of things. Say, if he was told someone was over five-hundred years old, and their Au was a medieval one, but somehow had cameras. He would remember that said hypothetical persons Au had cameras, but not that the Au was medieval, and would assume that the person wasn’t from a medieval Au. This scenario is hypothetical, of course, of course.

Pulling out his battle sketchbook (because, yes, he has different sketchbooks for different things, what artist with memory problems doesn’t?) he flipped to the scene that he was thinking about and pulled out his line art pens. He started with the people that were in the sketch. It was from his perspective so Dream and Swap were only partly there. The Bad Sanses and Error were on full display. Apparently Error had teamed up with Nightmare for this battle. Doesn’t normally do that, now does he? He suspects that those two don’t normally team up because of the opposing ideas they both had about the multiverse. One wanting to seemingly bathe the multiverse in everlasting negativity, the other wanting to abolish all Aus in existence. It doesn’t make for a good friendship, now does it? Then again, neither would a protector or a destroyer , and here I am, trying to make friends with him.

He started the line work on Error, using his black pens for him, instead of the teal he would later use for Nightmare’s lines. He often wonders what made Error look like that, he knew why Nightmare looked the way he did because of Dream, but he never knew why Error was dark-boned. Most skeletons aren’t. By the time he was done with the line art of the battle scene his painting had dried. He took the tape off and admired the version of Outertale he had painted.
