with a darling who bakes i have this idea of like. you hate him because he’s so PERFECT at everything. it’s fucking infuriating. oh yeah and he kidnapped you. that sucks too.

but you swear every time you sit down and do something, whether it be a puzzle or even just understanding the ending of a book he’s brought you, he’ll be right there just to go “well, you see…”

he’s a mansplainer lets be real.

but ask him to get you some ingredients so you can bake, and suddenly when you start on it he’s following you around like a lost puppy. he finds enjoyment in asking a million and one questions on every little thing you do, so it takes away from your own enjoyment at the fact that you know how to do something that he doesn’t.

also he most definitely tries to replicate the men in romance films you watch. might even get a little jealous of them at times. you had to refrain from bursting out laughing or cringing when he tried copying some lines from howl in howl’s moving castle, after you’d watched it together.

but ok. it’s cringe. but. i can imagine him saying stuff like that to irk you, or just to be a bit of a little shit.

you’d managed to escape the hotel you were both currently staying at. he’d left you alone for a couple hours, probably off to kill someone or steal something, most likely both. you’d found yourself smashing off the door handle with a chair leg, and before you knew it you were running down the hallways and out of the main lobby, to the dismay of the workers.

you didn’t really have a plan, god you didn’t know where to go or who to call, but you figured that your friends, family and the nearest police station would be the first places he would check.

you now find yourself in a little alley, back against the wall and mind racing. you got out, but now what? is there truly anywhere where he won’t find you? your panic quickly settles. you’ll find somewhere. you’ll never stop until you do.

after calming yourself down enough, you straighten up, turning towards the end of the alley and back into the street.

“that was fast.”

you freeze. footsteps from behind you draw near until he’s right next to you.

“you didn’t get very far, though. i can’t help but say i’m a little disappointed, [name].”

“go away,” you mutter, your knees shaking.

you hear an amused huff to the side of you. a hand reaches out, grabbing onto your chin and turning your face in his direction. you squeeze your eyes shut. you can feel his minty breath against your face.

“look at me.”

you really don’t want to, but the danger creeping into his tone has your eyelids slowly opening.

he smiles at you, and it causes nausea to form in your stomach.

“that’s my girl.”

from the twinkle in his otherwise dead grey eyes, you know that you’re in for a very long night.

Ok jokes aside just finished reading the recent chap + the headcanons and oh god I have THOUGHTS. Kai and his loser clique can all rot, leave it to insecure men to try dragging you down to their level because your ambition scares them and reminds them of just how incompetent they truly are. I'm not a film major but in somewhat similar humanities field and personally I could relate so much to that scene of a group of guys putting a lone girl in such an intimidating situation just to "teach her a lesson" because they consider themselves experienced. Like go to hell. Kudos to her for immediately slapping that cunt and putting kai in his fucking place.

And as for our main couple oh my god 😭 yn you broke my heart by what you said to gojo (I can't imagine how terrible she'd feel once she finds out his past like it's just so heartbreaking to have lost so much and have to hear that you have it easy. Ily bby toru), but watching her accept that she was wrong and how they both communicated really warmed my heart. Fucking finally he admitted he likes her and wants to be with her. i resent very much that i am writing twd meta this late in the year of our lord two-thousand-twenty-two after my long journey to distance myself from it, but the words are rattling around in my mind grapes, and because i am incapable of keeping things to myself, how about one more go for old time’s sake?

i think the main thing that i want to say to y’all is that we didn’t imagine it

obviously caryl has had chemistry from the very first scene they had together, but even these past few years, where we’ve dissected and meta’d every second of their screentime together under kang’s watch to death, and been like “here’s how bernie can still win!” we weren’t being delusional. the romantic beats were all there. the narrative was set up that way. she was wearing a ring in that dream sequence. he brought her a cherokee rose on a tray. they longed for each other, and planned to run away together, and it was never once foolish of us to believe otherwise, bc the only reason it didn’t happen is bc the narrative got eaten by amc’s desire to beat the shit out of twd for every drop of money it could possibly give them, and in the process they contracted Chris Charter Syndrome, which is unfortunately fatal

for those unfamiliar (tho with this group there’s probably enough crossover that i don’t rly need to explain), chris carter, the creator of the x-files, is notoriously dense af about how much of his show’s popularity is driven by his ~amazing lore~ vs the audience’s desire to have mulder and scully fuck

every conversation with him, to this day, goes p much like this:

[chris carter: people love the x-files for the mystery and intrigue and they don’t want resolved sexual tension, they want to watch our mains constantly will-they/won’t-they while battling government conspiracies until the end of time

the audience: we would watch one hundred billion hours of mulder and scully searching for bigfoot but comically missing him every time bc they get distracted by fucking each other, we could not care less about your plot. your plot doesn’t even make sense

chris carter: they just can’t wait to see what twists happen next

the audience: we are tired of the twists, and we want them to bone. in fact, here are graphs and studies and stats that all say that we would be much happier if you would just give us mulder and scully fighting silly monsters and stop trying to be gritty and dark with your plots that even you admit you don’t understand

chris carter: i am very good at my job

the audience: you are not good at your job]

if this sounds like gimple, that’s bc he has the worst case of CCS i’ve seen in a long time, and it’s unfortunate bc it’s contagious, and those who are especially susceptible are misogynistic money-hungry dudebro companies who think that what people want are GRIT and BLOOD and MAN PAIN, even when their statistics consistently tell them that they are wrong. a key component of CCS is an undeserved inflation of one’s ego and the inability to recognize the fact that one is making an ass out of oneself, which is why the past 84 years have looked like this:

amc: that sounds suspiciously like conflict/resolution, and if things are neatly resolved then we can’t make money out of it anymore. i know that all the statistics say that caryl is our top ship, and that we should get them together, and let them have a concluded, peaceful ending

amc: BUT

amc: let’s instead launch a spin-off with one (1) of the duo (the male, obviously), and then let’s leave their storyline ambiguous bc that way they’ll follow us to the shitty spin-off, but also anyone who just has the hots for daryl/norman reedus will also watch bc he’s still an Eligible Bachelor ;) 

amc: this is a good idea that will make us lots of money

the audience: no it will not

amc: gimple, we need your wisdom again, btw, the people miss you

the audience: no we do not

gimple: who’s ready for some GRIT AND BLOOD AND MORE MAN PAIN?!?!?!

it’s stupid and exhausting, and i have Mad Respect for those of you who have been putting so much effort into making sure our voices have been heard. ( @my-mt-heart , @gunmetal-ring​ , @lighteneverything​ to name just a few) plz know that your voice WAS heard, and i fully believe that you DID make an impact. it’s just that, when push comes to shove (i.e. when you’re dealing with misogynistic rich white men), CCS is one helluva disease

and it’s sad! it’s very very sad! i’ve been spending my time away over in the “our flag means death” universe, and y’all, it has been WILD. all of the interactions with the show’s creator and the cast have been “oh you enjoyed that? we’ll be sure to keep that in mind so that we can cultivate a show that you will love, bc it makes more sense to listen to our viewers than to ourselves sometimes, bc they’re the ones who keep us from driving ourselves directly into a ditch! thank you for your feedback, we appreciate and love you!”

but see, that’s the difference between creators who are in it for the story vs. creators who are in it for the money. if you are solely money-driven you’re never going to be able to dedicate yourself to the narrative, bc narratives have concrete endings. they require you to not always be looking for that next spin-off, or to not sacrifice a character’s integrity to fit it inside of a bad plotline. they are shows like the good place, that had an ending in mind from the start. they are shows like ofmd or what we do in the shadows, where the audience’s opinion gets listened to. even supernatural (mother fucking supernatural, you guys!!!) catered to its biggest fanbase better than twd did. it might have been clown shoes, but destiel’s last-minute confession was at least explicitly romantic. amc was too cowardly to give us even that, bc it might “jeopardize” their spin-off 

what we can take solace in, tho, is the fact that they are in the end stages of CCS. they think they’ve given enough to string caryl fans along over to the spin-off era of twd, but they haven’t. they’re going to crash and burn, and go out the way of GoT, in that everyone is going to be like “wow that was... let’s just not talk about that one, huh?” and it will be satisfying to watch them fizzle out into nothing when they get hit with the grim reality that they should have gotten their heads out of their asses and listened to their fans who told them that, yes, your “hot male lead” needs that middle-age grey-haired woman you cast to the side so carelessly, and that fact doesn’t change just bc you can’t fathom people caring about a woman over the age of 25

whatever. it is what it is. what matters most here is what i said up top, which is that we didn’t imagine it. we did not waste our time. we were not stupid. we had these beautiful characters laid out before us, and a storyline that supported them, and we took it and ran with it in the right direction. it’s not our fault that the narrative didn’t follow

our retribution will be the fact that now it’s our turn not to follow. instead, we can finally rest, not having to worry about the future, bc who fucking gives a shit about their dumb taunts, trying to get us to watch the spin-off for the “possibility” of caryl way down the line? we’re over it. we’re not chasing anymore carrots. we’re happy here in our caryl sandbox, with our li’l aus and headcanons and fix-its, and we don’t have to fucking discourse at each other every week anymore. we can come and go with a lightness we haven’t felt maybe fucking ever, bc it’s over now. it’s not in their hands anymore, it’s in ours

it was real. the feelings we felt, the relationships that were made between us, they were real. and it will all continue to be real in whatever way we decide to keep it. we can and should grieve what could have/should have been, and we can and should be mad, because there’s no question, we were wronged, but let’s not stay in that negativity place forever. let’s not forget why we all were drawn here to begin with, and let’s not forget what we’ve gained from each other 

it wasn’t “just a tv show.” it was, and is, a community that has influenced lives to the point of changing their entire trajectory. i have written over one million (1,000,000+) words of caryl fic, and bc of that i have been able to self-publish my own book, and get into freelance writing. bc of caryl, i have been able to ghostwrite and collaborate with published authors, and am on my way to making my actual day job being writing, which is something i’ve wanted since i was itty bitty. bc of caryl, i have traveled the world. bc of caryl, i have made relationships and connections that have, quite literally, changed my entire life. amc can’t take any of that away from me. it can’t take any of that away from YOU

PSYCHONAUTS ON MAIN LETS GOOOO (BC I USUALLY POST ON AQUATO-FAMILY-CIRCUS HAHA)

The first character I first fell in love with: 

AUGUSTUS AQUATO YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS!! I'd always liked Raz of course, but when I was rewatching the first game to prep for the sequel the last like 20 minutes of it rocked me. the difference between Raz's perception of his dad vs the real deal who's just a well meaning if overprotective father captured me so violently and immediately it felt like I was being jostled around. Plus Augustus has such a cool design and his voice work is so soft yet gruff and kind. He's a delight. Idk what my opinion on the first game would be without him bc it's one of the strongest highlights in the emotions department.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: 

It's haaaard to say bc I just liked most of them off the bat but I do think I needed some time for Cassie O'Pia to grow on me. Her level was overstimmulating the first time I played it so I didn't rly appreciate how nice it looked or how cool her archetypes really were. Love her now tho, of course, bc I love all the old people psychics

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: 

I Don't Care Much for the campers aside from Lili & Dogen. I think they're definitely fun, I've enjoyed a lot of fan work about the individual campers and do have favorites among the ones who Aren't Lili & Dogen (Clem & Crystal, Chloe) but they just don't really compel me much. Same goes for the interns but with them at least I can remember all their names and quirks off the top of my head (bc there's only 6 of them)

The character I love that everyone else hates: 

I think Gristol is an interesting character, I think he's fun! I don't post abt him much bc I get the vibe ppl get annoyed about it? Which is fair, he sucks, I would hit him with a crowbar if he was real. but he's just kind of a pathetic guy once his plans fail. He's fun to talk about and theorize about what in the world could actually make him become a better person or at least have a change of mind like the other antagonists we've been inside the heads of.

he enjoys the peace and quiet yk😭 and even though he’s rly not concerned with having a pet - it never rly occurred to him, that’s all - he likes that most cats aren’t frothing at the mouth for attention all the time.

plus, cats are p easily entertained. just knock around one of those jingly balls with his foot, or get a shoelace string and pull it behind him as he walks from the laundry room from the kitchen and they’re happy!! the best perk of all is that cats don’t even need baths 🤲

so they’re relatively low maintenance, but levi is like those dads who insist over and over that he doesn’t need a pet and he doesn’t want the burden of taking care of one etc etc but THEN u pick up a stray one day (unable to resist). it curls up in his lap one (1) single time, and ends up spoiling the cat rotten with toys and like 3 different kinds of treats bc he assumes the kitty gets tired from eating the same food every day.

he even constructs a little cat bed out of an old box and some crazy fluffy sweaters. he thinks cat beds are too expensive and they’re so fickle it wouldn’t even lay in it.

but of course, he INSISTS he’s doing it only bc of those reasons and not bc it’s a labor of love. he sits on the floor for hours shaving down a wicker basket and he’s AMAZING at what he does. he has you paint it though (as a self-proclaimed “shitty artist”) even if you’re not skilled at art😭

he prefers that any cat he has stays inside only. 1 because he doesn’t want any “gifts” in the form of dead animals on his front door, and 2 outside there’s predators, diseases, CARS… his protectiveness doesn’t stop at just the people in his life that he cares deeply about.

the only exception is if the cat doesn’t mind being given a collar (which you pick out. he thinks the jumble of colors and bells is tacky, but he doesn’t kick up much of a fuss; he appreciates your thoughtfulness), he’ll take it for walks sometimes in the early mornings. it kills two birds with one stone bc he likes the solitude of watching the sunrise with the fresh air.

same goes if you have a screened-in porch. he’ll have his morning tea (with you too, if you’re up that early) while the cat rolls around and chases ladybugs.

also i feel a very deep primal need to mention that every cat just ADORES levi. like he gives off a certain vibe that attracts them, and his calming presence has them easily trust him ‼️his own cat is always rubbing up against his legs and walking all over his keyboard when he’s trying to get work done. that part is more annoying than anything, but he’ll smile a little if he’s dusting and the cat jumps up on a nearby shelf to watch him.

lastly, the naming part is up to you😭 he’s much too practical to come up with a creative name. for example if it likes to hop up on the countertops while you’re both in the kitchen, knocking spices over n everything, he’d probably name it “Trouble” 😭 or an uncanny person name like Jane. Tom if it’s a boy.

ps: if his cat is ever in close radius when u two are getting intimate, he will quite literally drop what he’s doing to pick it up and take it back in the hallway, shutting the door to the bedroom. he values his privacy.

it’s not a problem! i do want to preface by saying tho that i did actually love seeing it and especially in the theatres with my dyke best friend!! and we had the time of our lives.

i wrote a very long and messy film review about barbies take on feminism and the patriarchy, i could post that if you’d be interested? :)

it also just. rubs me so in the wrong way seeing ryan gosling being peoples favorite thing to come out of the barbie movie. it just proves to me, imo, that barbies message went completely unheard. i absolutely loved his performence too but like. did we watch the same film? do we really think it’s funny that ken got bored of ruling a pareiarchy bc it didn’t include horses? is that actually funny or is it just unbelievably insensitive and out of touch? because i personally think the latter.

my main thing tho is basiaclly just that i had expected the film to do something literally anything new. to say something we don’t already know. i could name several films with the same feminist take and i just genuinely thought it would do one single radical thing. and it didn’t, in my opinion, and it left me very disappointed. i can’t name one single (new) thing the barbie film did for women/feminism if i’m being completely honest. it wrapped itself up in a neat little package towards the end saying ’everyone matters!’ w a cute little bow on top. men (because kens are still men) didn’t have to apologize and ryan goslings ken is everyones favorite part. from a movie about patriarchy and the sidelining of women. it just doesn’t sit right with me at all.

the kens are literally my enemies like what they did was unforgivable? they were men brainwashing and taking advantage of women and they didn’t even have to apologize and now we’re all obsessed with ’kenergy’? they should’ve at the very least be held responsible, but no they got an apology instead. while the barbies literally didn’t get a single one. is kenergy rly something we want? was he really keanough?????? i swear if i ever meet a man saying he’s a ken / is kenough i will kill him and then myself

some people may think i’m overreacting or that i’m a buzzkill but this is is genuinely how i feel about it. i see women say ’this is a film for all women!’ but i didn’t feel that once? i didn’t feel included once in the narrative and im definitely not being represented by barbie. it brought me back to when i was in the closet and i felt alien to everyone around me. i felt strange and ugly and wrong. this was a film for heterosexual women, imo.

in my defense, i am a film student film with a bachelor’s degree in film science, so i do feel confident in my own reading of the film. i am also well read on feminist theory and have been educating myself for years (and still do). it’s two things i’m very passionate about and literally you couldn’t spend even half an hour with my friend group, all dykes, before it turns into political/feminist discussions hahahah. i trust my judgment in how i feel about the film, but i’m not trying to change anyone else’s mind and im definitely not saying it wasn’t a good film. i’m absolutely not automatically right because of this. this is simply my reading of the film.

however, i find it very difficult not to engage with media, especially film, critically as someone who studies film and intends to make it my career. and i tend to engage critically from a gender perspective based on feminist theory because i honestly just can’t help it. a huge part of me didn’t want to engage with barbie critically because i had the time of my life watching it. i had so so so so much fun. but sadly, here we are

i had a similar experience when, in film history class, we started every single morning watching silent films. i fucking love silent films but let me tell you, the people who made silent films don’t love me or care for women. every morning i had to prepare myself to watch a woman get murdered by a man. a reminder of how women have been treated in cinema. a reminder that a woman isn’t a person, she’s a plot device for the male protagonist. the men in my class never noticed, whereas me and my uni friends (all girls) felt rather affected by it every single viewing. film theory hits different depending on who’s watching the film

that’s why i wanted barbie do just something new. it’s a film literally based on feminism and patriarchy and it still ended with a woman apologizing to a man. she still had to fight him off trying to make advances. she still had to do the emotional labour for another man.

it was just tiring. i wouldn’t have this opinion if it hadn’t made it so clear that the literal plot is patriarchy and feminism. that’s why i feel so let down

so i wanted to know how much stripe reveals your info to people who pay you? through ko fi and all that. what i mean is when someone gives the creator money through ko fi using paypal their name (legal name) is revealed on invoice so does that happen with stripe as well?

i’ve heard with stripe, creators can hide their legal name and use another which shows up on invoices but im unsure if it’s true

I actually had this same concern and did a lot of poking around for how different platforms handle this while setting up my commissions so I will attempt to answer! disclaimer I am just a guy who is bad with technology so there is a chance I am wrong about things ok here’s a readmore attempt click to get Snek’s business knowledge

this is actually the main reason I rly like stripe, you can customize pretty much everything clients will see including how much information about yourself you want to give away- I literally only have 3amsnek as my name in there, it’s just my business name (the Public Details section of settings lets you mess with this as much as you like, it’s under the Business Settings category)

it gives my country & state on some invoices but no further details (I can’t remember if state is mandatory or I clicked on the wrong button somewhere setting it up but I can’t disable it so keep that in mind) (I can change it along with everything else in my info though)

you do need to give Stripe all of your information for legal and payment purposes which can be kinda intimidating to set up but within my account I can customize what name will show up everywhere it shows up, put a different email than the one I signed up with as a customer support email to go at the bottom of receipts, decide specifically how much of my location is shown- idk if this is super clear bc I’m not at all experienced in Business Advice but by my memory/experience it doesn’t even ask for a Firstname Lastname name anywhere that’ll be shown to customers

for the record I’ve never actually used paypal bc my account got nuked within a day of making it and they have simply refused to fix it so I don’t have a direct comparison from personal experience but from my various hours of research trying to put comms together it seemed like paypal will always give everyone involved in the transaction a stupid amount of information about each other and there rly isn’t much to do about it/things can’t be changed ever or at least without huge difficulty and my experience with Stripe has been not that at All,,, it’s been very nice tbh I even found a whole invoices feature that allows international bank transfers as a payment method making a workaround for people who only have paypal & no card

if this is still confusing you can dm me and I’ll send you a picture of my checkout page/invoice/email receipt templates, it rly only shows my profile picture for stripe which I selected and can change (for me it’s the same dragon I use for my ko-fi header) and my business name in big letters at the top to say who you’re paying and then it’s the checkout/payment setup for the client (looks like any other online shopping checkout thing rly) - I haven’t been able to Confirm confirm that this all shows up properly on receipts as I don’t rly have a way to run a test with it with actual payment but it shows you what all the graphics are set to show up as in your account (under Branding in settings, same Business Settings box as Public Details is in) and you can change all of it any time (I do think you can also send blank test receipts to yourself)

hopefully this helps clarify things? at this point of using it for a couple months I would say I’d recommend Stripe- I’ve been rly pleased with it so far, especially with this specific topic :]

Hi! I'm getting married (soonish, we haven't set a date yet) to a transfemme who is early in their transition. I met them when they were 18 and j a depressed anxious socially awkward nerd and over the past like ~year I've watched them blossom into themself (it's magical). But as a tme person sometimes i feel like I'm not fit to be the main person supporting them during this journey, bc they don't have any irl tgirl/transfem friends.

Do you have any suggestions? I'm always trying to learn more about transmisogyny. I took them to get an affirming haircut by a woman I met on Lex, I help with makeup. I've been trying to help them make friends bc they still do have like, a diagnosed social phobia lol. I think it'd be good if I WASNT the main support for this stuff in many ways. And they are like 10x as confident now that they present more authentically, but it's a process. And idk. I know them rly well and love them a lot but I worry sometimes that I'm somehow hurting them or doing the wrong thing.

I know I can't do everything for them (codependency lol) but I want to be the best partner I can be. I'm always asking what they want but sometimes it's like, j figuring out as we go bc it's all new. So what would YOU want from a tme partner ig? How do you assume I could be helpful, better, etc?

it sounds like you’re really on the right track for sure :) friends are extremely important especially for ppl in minority groups that make socializing harder, so trying to help to her get out of her shell and get to know other people is certainly a great idea; both because she deserves having something of a social group, and because like you say, trans friends can be really critical. i can’t speak with authority since I don’t know you & your situation, but it could definitely help with supporting her and whatnot; i value my transfem friends irl a lot and they’re wonderful with buoying my transition. im not sure id say you’re ‘not fit’ for it unless you dont want to be, since there’s a lot of ways to support and be there for someone’s transition. my femme is tme and she has been wonderful with my transition and helping me explore different gender stuff by helping me with womens clothes, sometimes a little makeup, and her support when im mixing things up with my presentation. she’s happy to change and play with her vocab too; when i realized i like being called pretty from time to time now she works it into when she’s teasing me or being sweet, things like that.

as far as other things id want to see in a tme partner, the willingness to look at transmisogyny and learn about it and work it over is pretty important to me; but it sounds like you’re already working on this, so just keep your mind open with a clear heart. if you make a mistake, trust that you can learn from it and move on. id also say to let her be the one to define and speak about her transition and her past as well, and not to get tripped up on gender too much; i had an ex who was a lesbian and hated hearing me talk about my past as a boy. was very unfortunate. so keep an open mind and if you don’t understand something or you’d like to understand more, try not to be too afraid to ask; I can’t speak for her exactly, but I can say i really don’t mind getting asked about gender stuff or transmisogyny since it shows that someone cares and also gives me a chance to make sure we’re on the same page. and also, while this may be a little risqué, so long as she’s not ace or something id think about making sure you touch and love on her body holistically. a lot of trans women don’t get touched like how cis and other women do, so don’t be afraid to get a little handsy if she doesn’t mind it. having our bodies be actively wanted (touching sides, thighs, etc) can be really very wonderful when we’re taught that we’re repulsive in every way that matters.

so tl;dr: getting her more friends is a great idea for a milieu of reasons! don’t walk on eggshells with transmisogyny too much, just keep an open mind and maybe think about biases sometimes but don’t let it get to your beat and beat you up over it. but I think your concern sounds like it might be a sign that you care and are gonna try, and if that’s the case then approach any issues that come up from an angle of love and i think it should buff out. anyone wanna chime in in the replies?

oh i’m about to sound SO delusional rn it’s not even funny. no one contradict ANYTHING i say bc i need to live in this little fantasy world and this all could mean NOTHING but it means everything to me. okay here goes

i feel like joe quinn is doing WAYYY too much press n such for a character who’s just going to get killed off. like he’s doing magazine interviews n promo stuff like on netflix geeked etc etc i feel like why do all that if he’s just gonna die. like i’ve seen next to nothing w the actor who played argyle so idk. IDK idr how it was w other new characters who died like sean astin but i just feel it in my bones this means something

yeah they kill off a new character every season BUT they also KEEP a new character each season. max (and b*lly ig) in s2 and robin in s3. i just cannot see argyle mixing with the rest of the main cast or leaving ca (bc i feel like after s4 the byers are moving back) and that russian guy is for SURE not going to be seen again. and no one likes jason so like. that leaves eddie and he’s obviously the logical choice bc he fits in so well w everyone in the main cast like he’s been there the whole time

i mean i think out of the three dteam members people main, george mains/golos have been the ones to leave tumblr/die out the most out of the three possible as things slowed down this last year. probably a mix of gnf having dismal amounts of content (which sapnapians didnt rly suffer with and dream stans are much more accustomed to it and know how to deal with lack of content while still staying interested better (clinging to his fanart likes for instance)), controversy (both his and the dteam/dream as a whole), and for geolos: lots of them were just completely and utterly full of hatred for the dteam outside of george and thats not a sustainable way to remain a fan. and since quarantine died down and ppl were living their lives, that hatred probably felt less all-consuming and necessary to talk about and more of a nuisance that made them stop wanting to interact with fandom in such a direct wat and instead more casually. obv quarantine also led to ppl just leaving in general bc well. Grass. but yeah thats my theory on why theyre mostly the ones coming back TLDR: its essentially bc they were the main ones that left in the first place (a bit half-baked and there more maybe but whatever).

Hey hi so!!! I only just finished watching st4, since me and my dad were watching it together and I literally can’t contain myself right now. Holy shit!!! Holy Shit!!!! I don’t Really know how to feel about the season overall because it did feel Quite different from the other seasons, leaning more in the sense of traditional horror movies and less creature features like the other few seasons but at the same time!! My mind is spinning. The main thing I noticed and I don’t know if it’s just me but I thought Steve felt more consistent with who he is in season 2, you know? Maybe it’s because he’s involved with more of the kids again, which puts him back into that babysitter role, and perhaps the contrast between him and Eddie’s relationships with Dustin and the rest of the gang, but I dunno! He just feels more…authentically Steve to me. Like even just in the way he Looks this season. Him and Dustin have some great lines together this season too! And even in the beginning when he brought that girl to Lucas’ basketball game, I feel like you could kinda tell that he was trying to almost force himself into a box that he no longer fit anymore and then after that, fell into something more comfortable as he spent time with the kids, Nancy, Robin, and even Eddie (Loved the little exchange they had about how metal Steve is. I want them to be best friends now, Eddie introducing Steve to his music collection…). I’m kinda meh at the moment about the direction they are going with Steve and Nancy because I really do just want them to be friends and I personally don’t like how at least a part of Steve and Jonathan’s storylines end up seeming to be directly related to whether or not they end up with Nancy but overall, I feel better about him this season than where we found him in season three. It truly does feel like he’s coming into this own by allowing him to be concerned about his self-worth, especially after that talk he has with Eddie about how much Nancy and Robin care about him. There are so many other things that I am going to be turning around in my head now for the next month. S4 in its entirety was such a wild ride.
