The Most Common Cause Motorcycle Accidents
The cause of accidents on motorcycles can be brought about by a number of reasons. They can be caused by drunken driving or inattention to driving. These are the top reasons. To avoid motorcycle wreck law firm involving motorcycles it is possible to stay clear of several of the most frequent factors. What are the most common reasons? Continue reading to find out more. Here are some suggestions to prevent accident on the road: Speeding Many factors can lead to motorcycle accidents. Speeding is the main cause of accidents involving motorcycles, however there are many more causes. You can either partially blame these factors or they could be combined. Avoid weaving in and out of traffic when driving on multilane roads or driving too slowly to keep from hitting other cars. This can cause a motorcycle accident. Therefore, you must pay attention to the speed limit before you attempt to pass. Inattentive driving Motorbike accidents are frequently the due to distracted driving. Drivers can be distracted by cell phones, text messages and music apps, as well as Facetime. Others distractions are grooming, drinking, eating, or looking for things. Even though the CDC has focused on distractions from eating in recent studies, distracted drivers continue to ignore the dangers of driving distracted and place motorists on the road at great risk. Alcohol use It's not a surprise that drinking alcohol is among of the most common causes of motorcycle accidents. The risk of fatal motorcycle accidents is much higher among impaired drivers. They are criminally liable for their actions , and pose a danger to others. Although alcohol has been linked with accidents in the past, it's particularly dangerous when it comes to motorcycle drivers. Alcohol can impair judgment and response time, which makes it hard for drivers to make logical decisions when operating a motor vehicle. Lane splitting Although experts on motorcycles disagree about whether lane splitting is a safe practice, it is definitely prohibited and illegal in New York and a common cause of accidents. It is possible to be concerned regarding your conduct if are involved in an accident on motorcycles while you are lane splitting. Although lane splitting is illegal within New York, you may still be able to recover certain costs associated with your injuries as per the law on personal injury in the state. Sudden stops One of the most common reason for accidents on motorcycles is sudden stops. A sudden stop in front of you can make your bike spin ahead and then collide with another vehicle. The result of this type of collision can be catastrophic, particularly when the driver is hit by flying objects or hits the exterior of a building. If you're hit by an object or vehicle, it is possible to get serious injuries. Stops that are sudden and abrupt do not only happen in accidents on motorcycles but can also cause road construction. Weather No matter if you're on a dirt bike or in a luxurious automobile, the weather can play a huge impact on motorcycle accidents. In 2017, 97 percent deaths in motorcycle crashes occurred in good weather. Although there are no factors that could affect the weather in any way yet, you are able to make sure you are prepared by watching the local weather station for severe storms. Don't ride on your motorcycle during rainy weather. Road hazards Sliding and sliding across slippery roads is more common for motorcycles. This is because they are lighter and smaller than a vehicle, making them more likely to get out of control of their vehicle during a turning. The biker may also slide across leaves, antifreeze, oils, or any other road defect, which would make them lose control of their motorcycle. The roads may be coated or painted by mud or oil which makes them slippery for motorbikes.

Chapter 1
Spencer never wanted his daughter to see him like this, being brought into the BAU bullpen in handcuffs. He was supposed to be the good guy.
Right now, he couldn’t tell if he still was. He had good intentions going down to Mexico to get non-FDA approved medicine for his mom but he may have killed someone in the process. If only he could just remember.
Camellia ran into his arms to hug him, a hug he so desperately wanted to return if it wasn’t for these stupid cuffs around his wrists.
“They can’t just take you away, Dad,” she cried.
“I’m so sorry, sweetheart. I’m going to get back to you as soon as possible,” he promised, kissing the top of her head.
Spencer felt absolutely crushed as the guards had to drag his crying 11-year-old off of him so he could be taken to his holding cell.
-
You had just gotten off of work when your phone rang. Eileen, the head foster care coordinator, was calling.
“Hello,” you answered.
“Hey Y/N,” she greeted you, “I know you haven’t had a foster kid in a few months but I kind of have an urgent case. 11-year-old sixth grade girl. Mom has been out of the picture for a while, Dad recently imprisoned and on trial for murder. There are a bunch of family friends willing to take her but no direct family,” she explained.
“I can take her for as long as she needs,” you told Eileen.
“Great! I’ll text you the address, it’s the FBI headquarters.”
-
When you walked into the BAU, still in your dino scrubs and white lab coat, Eileen was surrounded by a frantic group of people.
“As I said before, I don’t doubt any of your credentials but this is the law. We can only give away a child to direct family at this point in time. If you are not direct family, you will need a lawyer to fight for custody as well as permission from her father but that process could take months,” Eileen stated.
“Spencer hasn’t spoken to his father in years and his mother is in a facility for her schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s,” a dark-haired woman spoke.
“Exactly so she must be turned over to the foster care system. I apologize to you all but this is how it works. We can’t bend the rules,” Eileen said.
“I don’t want Callie fending for herself in a house with 20 other kids,” a blonde-haired woman argued, “I’m her godmother. She stays with me all the time. She was staying with me while Spencer was in Mexico.”
“Sorry, my answer is still no. But, hopefully this will squash your concerns, Y/N!” she called you over, “This is Y/N. Jo will be placed with her. She is a pediatric doctor and currently has no other foster kids at the moment but all of her past kids have absolutely adored her. She always passes her surprise safety and wellness checks with flying colors.
“Hi,” you waved, intimidated by this huge group of frustrated people with guns on their hips.
“A doctor? So she isn’t even going to be home most of the time,” a curly-haired man scoffed.
“Actually, I own my own practice. I don’t work at a hospital so I usually have a regular 8-4 shift unless one of my patients needs urgent attention,” you clarified.
“JJ, don’t make me go,” a girl, who you could only assume was Callie, sobbed.
They were all staring at you like you were the worst person on Earth. You wanted to shrivel up and die. When you went through the process of becoming a foster parent, you thought this was a very admirable thing to do. You just wanted to provide a good home to kids in need.
“Do any of you have a key to Dr. Reid’s residence so Camellia can pack a bag?” you asked politely.
The woman closest to Callie that must be JJ pulled a key off of her chain and handed it to you.
“I’ll-um-leave my phone number and address here so you guys can contact me at any time or stop by. I understand your concerns but please know I try my absolute hardest to make sure all kids feel welcome and safe in my house,” you scribbled your information down on a scrap piece of paper.
“Are you ready to go, Camellia?” you asked softly.
She went around hugging everyone in the circle before solemnly nodding to you.
God, you felt like such an asshole.
-
After Callie finished packing her things from her bedroom in relative silence, you returned to the car.
“I don’t know what you like to eat but we can stop at the grocery store so we can get stuff you like and any other things you need,” you said.
You were met with silence from the backseat. You offered for her to sit in the passenger seat but she declined.
“Listen, I’m really not trying to be the bad guy here. Please don’t make me out to be one. I know you are having a tough time with your Dad’s situation right now but shutting everyone else out won’t help,” you spoke softly, “Trust me, I know.”
You sighed when the silence continued. You pulled out of the Reid’s driveway and headed to the grocery store.
-
You let Callie lead when you entered the grocery store, opting to follow behind her with the cart. She went immediately to the frozen meal section and started throwing them in.
“Camellia, that’s fine if those are what you want but just so you know, I love to cook so I can make you anything you want,” you offered.
“This is what I’m used to,” she spoke sharply, “My dad is not a bad dad, he just usually doesn’t have much time.”
“I never claimed he was,” you defended yourself.
After that, you kept your mouth shut. Clearly, she was a very independent girl and she had her own routine she liked to stick to.
-
You hauled all the grocery bags inside the house and unloaded them as Callie brought in her suitcases.
“So Camellia, I put all the food you picked out in these two cabinets. I mean obviously, you are welcome to anything in the kitchen but I just wanted you to know where the things you picked out were. I always have a grocery list on the fridge that you can add to,” you began to give her a tour of the house, “Bathroom is in there. There’s another upstairs. Here’s the living room with a TV,” you headed up the stairs, “Here’s my room.”
On your bed was an adorable toyger kitten cuddled up on your pillow.
“Oh! This is Winnie like Winnie the Pooh. I just got her a few weeks ago from a shelter. She is super friendly and loves snuggles so she will probably try to sneak into your bed unless you keep your door closed.”
“I don’t mind,” Callie spoke softly as she petted Winnie.
You smiled softly. These were the first words you got out of her that weren’t a rejection.
You continued the tour, “There’s a bathroom between our rooms but I tend to use the downstairs one so feel free to make it your own. And here’s your room,” you opened the door to a white room with a queen bed in the center, a small bookshelf, a few plants, and paintings.
“I hope this is good enough for now. We can go out this weekend to a home goods store if you want to redecorate. I’d even be open to repainting it if you want,” you offered.
Callie just set her bags down and nodded.
“Alright, I’ll leave you be. I’ll probably be downstairs for a while watching TV if you want to join. Let me know if you want me to make you anything,” you began to shut the door but Winnie slipped in first.
“Good night, you guys,” you smiled softly.
-
“Do you want me to wait out here or come in with you?” you asked softly.
Spencer had been denied bail, meaning he was transferred to a federal prison and Callie was going to be staying with you for a while. She had taken the news rather hard as expected when the team came over to your house to tell her. You still weren’t really accepted by the group so you mostly stood in the corner of the kitchen while they were all in your living room.
You had spoken to Eileen several times about Callie’s current situation. She gave you permission to do whatever you saw fit. This means you could opt her out of school one or two days a week if she wasn’t feeling up to it as long as she emailed her teachers and got her missed work in on time. You were researching different therapists for her to talk to because she didn’t seem to want to open up to you. You were also given a schedule of visiting times for her to visit her dad in prison.
“I’ll just go in alone,” she walked in the door to the visiting room, leaving you in the waiting room.
-
“Dad,” Callie tried to hug Spencer but the guard pointed to the ‘No Touching’ sign posted on the wall.
They both sat down defeatedly at opposite ends of the table.
“How are you?” Callie inquired, wiping her tears away from seeing her father locked up.
“I don’t want to talk about me, sweetheart. How are you? Emily and my lawyer visited yesterday and told me you had to be placed into foster care,” Spencer asked, concerned.
“It’s okay. Not the best,” she sighed.
“What’s happening? Are they hurting you? Are they not giving you enough to eat? Callie, I’ll have my lawyer on the phone and you out of there so quick,” Spencer frantically stated.
“No, Dad. Y/N is fine…nice, even. But she’s not you,” Callie cried.
Spencer’s face softened, “I’m so sorry, Callie. You don’t deserve to be dealing with any of this.”
“Just please come home,” she sniffled.
“I’m trying, sweetheart, I’m really trying,” he replied earnestly with tears in his eyes.

My Heroine
MASTERLIST
This fic was inspired by the song My Heroine by The Maine which you can listen to here, if you’d like. The song I’ve come to realize sounds like it can have multiple interpretations, but I was inspired to use the whole “reader is Spencer’s drug of choice” plot. Not gonna lie it was rough writing about his prison trauma cause I consider it to be one of his biggest traumas, but I kinda wanted this to be a journey from his avoidance of it to his eventual acceptance, all while sex is his “heroin” or the reader is the “heroine” in his story. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy. Happy reading!

I’m feeling pretty dirty baby
Forgive my sins
I get the feeling you can save me honey,
My heroine
The silver gleam from the sharp blade caught his eye as it hit the light. In any other circumstances, the sharpness of it might actually be considered  beautiful.
This was anything but beautiful.
This was horrifying.
The metal was so closely pressed to skin that even a small flinch could draw blood.
“Never ever mess with a man’s stash on the inside. When you do,” the man paused for a second—a millisecond—before the knife sliced across the skin, ripping the hostage’s throat open.
He struggled against the person holding him, his momentary shock and need to help his friend making him fight the grip of the big man, even more.
“People get hurt,” the first guy said, backing away.
The second man let go of him, his friend falling to the floor, choking on his own blood. While they made their departure from the laundry room, he ran to his injured friend’s side, grabbing a towel to hold against the wound.
“It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay,” he repeated, kneeling over the only friendly face he’d known in the last weeks.
If he repeated it enough, he’d be okay. He had to be.
“Guard!” he yelled.
His hands cradled his friend’s face as he lay gasping and wheezing, the fear in his eyes matching his own.
In all the years, throughout all the things he saw that most normal people didn’t, he’d never been as terrified as he was right now. His heart raced from the fear and he was breathing heavy as he screamed as loud as he could.
“HELP! HELLLLP!”
Spencer shot up in bed, breathing hard.
His face was sweaty, his entire body was sweaty, in fact. His t-shirt clung to his skin.
He kicked off the covers, sitting on the side of his bed, running his hands through his hair. He tried in vain to calm his pounding heart and slow his breathing.
The nightmares hadn’t stopped. If anything, they’d gotten worse.
A rare burst of anger caused him to shove the object that was sitting on his nightstand, off of it with extreme force.
He glared at the journal on the floor where it had landed haphazardly. He didn’t want to write in it like his therapist suggested. It didn’t help him then and it wasn’t going to help him now.
He rubbed his eyes, trying desperately to erase all the images that constantly played behind his eyes, regardless if he was asleep or awake.
It was the middle of the night, but he knew what he needed. He grabbed his phone off the charger and sent a quick text.
I need a distraction.
The recipient would understand, he knew. It was only 1 am and they were known to be a night owl anyway.
He grabbed a pair of pants to change into and pulled them on in place of his pajama pants. All he had to grab were his car keys and his phone and he was out the door.
-
It’d only been six months since Spencer had been released from prison in which he spent three long, grueling months in.
He had been framed.
That was the first thing he remembered thinking, even under the influence of heroin and cocaine, in which the unsub had drugged him with. He had been sitting in a prison cell in Mexico, but deep down he knew he hadn’t done anything, even if his mind was scrambled and tried desperately to convince himself otherwise.
Fucking Cat Adams. If she hadn’t been such a psychopath, he might’ve admired her intelligence and skills to pull off something so elaborate, but alas, she was.
Her and her female partner Lindsey Vaughn had been watching him, waiting to strike. All because Spencer had arrested Cat and outsmarted her. It’s where she belonged after all. She’d been a
hit woman, operating in the shadows of the dark web that even experts in the area couldn’t even fathom.
She, along with four other assassins had been working for years before any law enforcement even knew of their existence. Spencer and the rest of his fellow Behavioral Analysis team had been the only ones to get close enough to them. Close enough in fact, to take them all down, every last one.
Cat Adams though, had been the hardest one. She was one to play mind games and she hated to lose. Which she had against him; he’d outsmarted her and she was the one who’d landed in a prison cell.
Of course, being the kind of person she was, she wasn’t going to take that lying down. So, she returned the favor.
He had been determined to help his mother—Diana Reid—who’d been suffering from paranoid schizophrenia all his life, but now had been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. He was smart, he was sure he could help her, fix her maybe.
There’d been a plethora of drug trials, medicine combinations, diet changes, but nothing helped. So without his teammates—who happened to be the closest friends he had—knowledge, he had been crossing the Mexico border numerous times to get medicine for his mother, one that was definitely not FDA approved.
It was one of these trips that Lindsey—and technically Cat too—had struck.
She’d dosed him with a spray of scopolamine, pumped him full of cocaine and heroin and murdered the woman he’d been meeting to get the vials of medicine from.
It was bad, really bad. He was the prime suspect in the murder and that is how he ended up in Millburn Correctional Facility pending trial for three months.
Thankfully, the BAU had worked their asses off to clear his name, but in the time spent in prison he had experienced some pretty awful things.
If that hadn’t been bad enough, Cat had orchestrated another evil plan. Lindsey had managed to kidnap his mother.
Less than 12 hours after being released from jail, he was back in another one to face Cat again and play her games.
She had been executed for her crimes and the additional charges she faced for framing him and kidnapping his mother. He wasn’t the least bit remorseful; if anything, he was glad he’d never have to deal with her again. He dealt with her in his mind enough as is.
Spencer didn’t deal with emotions very well, so it was no surprise to himself that he didn’t stop to process his trauma.
Instead, he found other outlets.
He’d known Y/N for several years but had done an awful job of keeping in touch as the years passed. He’d recently reconnected with her before his arrest and then he’d pulled away again.
He felt bad for never telling her until after the fact, but he’d been embarrassed enough.
She was a good friend, one who had said she would do anything to help him if and when he needed it.
That’s how the arrangement began. It’d happened once, by accident, but it had helped him forget everything when he needed it the most.
Which is why at 1 a.m. he was headed over to her house, just to forget everything for a while.
Your hips, my hands, you swing and you dance
Yeah, I’m feeling pretty lonely baby
Just let me in
Just let me in
The door to her apartment opened to reveal her barefoot and in a long, oversized t-shirt.
“Hey,” she greeted him.
He didn’t waste time with the greetings, he kicked the door closed with his foot and grabbed her face, kissing her.
Within minutes he had her pressed up against her door, hands roaming under her shirt as he kissed her hungrily.
He wanted to forget.
Needed to forget.
She moaned into the kiss. Lucky for him, she got horny easily. She was always ready to go at it whenever. Maybe it had something to do with him, although he didn’t know. He never really took the time to dwell on it.
His fingers stroked her bare stomach as his tongue moved against hers. Her hands clutched the bottom of his shirt, pulling away long enough to help him yank it over his head. Her shirt followed suit.
For a while, they stayed there, top halves pressed against one another as their lips moved together in a complicated, yet simple dance.
They made out for a while, while Spencer forced his brain to empty and focus on her. It finally worked as he felt his crotch tighten, his need for her now more than just something to get him through the night.
She led him back to her bedroom and within minutes was kneeling in front of him, pulling his cock out of his pants.
“You gonna be a good little girl and suck my cock?” he mumbled, looking down at her with lidded eyes.
Normally, he would never fathom talking like this. But something had changed within him in the last six months. He was rougher around the edges, he quite literally didn’t give a fuck anymore. Which proved to be true since he quite literally had a fuck buddy—something the old Spencer wouldn’t even consider.
He cared about her, but like him, she didn’t want anything serious, so he never felt too bad taking advantage of her this way. Weren’t they both using each other anyway?
“Your wish is my command,” she purred, making his cock throb even more.
The moment her mouth touched him, his eyes closed in pure bliss, the feeling chasing the nightmares away.
His hand threaded in her hair, guiding her head as her tongue glided and mouth hollowed out, sucking him like her favorite popsicle. She was amazing at this, he definitely had to give her that.
“Y/N, fuck,” he groaned, his hips bucking up towards her mouth.
Her tongue was his gateway to an anxiety free mind—at least for the time being.
He pushed her away after a few minutes. He wasn’t going to last if she kept that up much longer.
With surprising agility, he’d had her from her knees to bent over the end of the bed in seconds.
Their sessions were far from romantic love making—the type of intimacy he knew she deserved—but more animalistic and frenzied.
He knew he was selfish and instead of letting her have what she deserved from a man, he held tight to her like she was his lifeline.
In a way, she had become his lifeline. Things got worse the longer he tried to stay away from her. That’s why he always returned.
Her moans and the slap of their bodies were the only sounds heard in the room as he thrust deep into her. Even as fucked up as he was, he had to be an idiot to not admit that sex with her was incredible. She was incredible.
“Spencer, oh my god, fuck.”
Her words came out in a strangled moan as he’d switched up the movements of his hips. Instead of the fast and harsh thrusts, they turned into slow and deeper ones. He may only be her fuck buddy, but he was still gonna be damn sure she got her pleasure out of it too.
His fingers dug into her hips as he tried to erase the images of his earlier nightmare with every thrust. Usually, it worked. Tonight though, he was struggling.
Instead of disappearing, the memories kept flashing through his head like a silent movie on repeat.
The helplessness everyone felt in that prison.
The fear he felt.
The images of a group of white men who pointed a knife in his face his first full night in prison.
Two, sneering and sadistically joyful faces hovering over him as they beat him to a pulp, smothering his face with a rag.
His desperate decision in doing something so awful that it hurt more men than he intended it to.
The constant paranoia.
The fear he had become a monster.
Every single moment inside he’d spent that he had to make choices he’d never fathomed he’d have to—only to survive.
Delgado.
“Switch it up,” he muttered, pulling out of her, turning her around.
His jaw was tense, his body was rigid. All he wanted was one orgasm to erase his nightmare.
Her eyes narrowed, sensing his tension but knowing better than to comment on it.
“Let me take care of you,” she whispered.
She pushed him towards the head of the bed, ordering him to sit against it. He did as he was told, focusing all of his attention on her again.
When she climbed into his lap to straddle him, his breathing had become ragged and he was glad that the stirrings of his arousal were coming back—his sexual attraction to her luring him back in again.
She sank down on him and he exhaled sharply, groaning lowly. The feeling of her tight around him was always like drinking water after being utterly parched.
“You like that?” she purred, her hands resting against his chest, “You like when I take care of you?”
“Very much so,” he growled.
He thread his hand into the back of her hair, pulling her face towards his. He kissed her roughly, his lower half meeting the speed she’d set since she was now the one in charge. Her pelvis grinded against his, giving her even more pleasure, he was sure.
As much as he did this for his benefit, he also had a small sense of pride in knowing he could make her moan and writhe like he did. His hands cupped her breasts, massaging them and she threw her head back with a loud moan.
He could practically fall apart at that sight alone, but he managed to resist.
His lips attached to her throat, sucking harshly, sure to leave a mark. Their moves were frantic as she gripped the headboard and he bucked relentlessly into her.
They both spiraled into ecstasy, not that far apart from one another.
Sweaty and out of breath, she moved off of him, gathering her clothes and tossing his own to him.
“Want something to eat before you go?”
She asked it so nonchalantly it was as if he hadn’t just spent about half an hour buried to the hilt in her.
“No, thanks though.”
He wasn’t one to stay long after the deed, even though a part of him felt like an ass for it. Y/N didn’t deserve that. But if it ever bothered her, she never let on.
She nodded, watching him as he finished pulling his shirt over his head.
“I’m around, if you need me.”
Spencer gave a nod and headed to the door, grabbing his car keys on his way out.
You’re my heroine, but you’re suicide
If I let you in you’ll crawl inside
You save my skin
But you can’t wait to sink in
My heroine
In a way, Y/N had become his drug.
Whenever things got too hard, he went to her. But lately, it was like every time he fucked her, it only left him needing more.
His PTSD was getting worse, the sex was only distracting him for so long, but he was stubborn. He wasn’t going to give her up anytime soon.
The PTSD was also affecting his work and he knew it.
It’d been six months since his release from prison, but he’d only been reinstated for three months. He worked his ass off to get his position back and he wasn’t about to let his emotions get the best of him.
He was currently trying to focus on the geo profile in front of him, but his vision kept blurring. He rubbed his eye, trying hard to block out everything else but this case.
He was becoming increasingly irritable as well.
It had only been a week since his last visit to Y/N, but he was craving her and her distractions so much. His nightmares hadn’t ceased, he was hardly sleeping and his teammates weren’t oblivious.
They knew he was having a hard time readjusting.
Spencer doubted they knew just how bad it really was though.
The map blurred in front of his eyes again, the sight being replaced with moving pictures, his memories being played before his eyes.
Like the time he was so desperate to survive, he poisoned drugs that he was supposed to move, instead of getting involved with the situation.
He ended up causing several men to get incredibly sick—his guilt over that still haunted him at night.
Prison was an incredibly dangerous place and he had been too good of a person to survive as long as he had.
For a while he’d had two friends; Delgado and Shaw.
One was murdered in front of him.
The other turned out to be using him. Shaw ran the entire prison population. He called the shots and people listened to him. But Spencer wanted no part of that.
Making an enemy of Shaw had been deadly. In fact, it came close to being deadly. Spencer could’ve easily lost his life behind bars.
It had been months since he had been locked up, but the sense of helplessness he felt still haunted him to this day. It smothered him like the sweltering heat on a hot, summer day.
He rubbed his palms into his eyes. He felt like he couldn’t breathe while at the same time his heart rate accelerated. His sense of fight or flight was being triggered and he couldn’t stop the sense of dread that was engulfing his senses.
“Spence, you okay?”
“Yeah, I just need some fresh air,” he answered, brushing past a worried JJ.
The moment he exited the crowded police station and the cool air hit his face, he felt fractionally better, but the anxiety still gripped him.
He gripped his tie, yanking at it and loosening it, so he could breathe. The feel of it around his neck had been making him feel like he was suffocating more so than he already had been.
His therapist had told him panic attacks were normal with PTSD, but he hadn’t had them much. This was an exception apparently.
He leaned against the brick of the building and tried to focus on his breathing to bring his heart rate down. After all he’d endured, he wasn’t about to let a damn panic attack take him down.
His eyes were closed as he tried to calm down, so he didn’t hear Luke approaching.
“Reid.”
He opened his eyes, seeing his teammate Luke Alvez, standing next to him.
He wondered how he currently looked through Luke’s eyes. A mess, probably.
Luke didn’t beat around the bush, either.
“Your PTSD has gotten worse, hasn’t it?” he asked, gently.
Spencer shrugged.
“Spencer, if you need to take some time—”
“I don’t need to take time off because I’m fine,” he snapped.
Luke flinched as if Spencer had physically hit him. If anything, he knew that his outburst was just further proof at how not okay he was.
“I need to get back to work,” he mumbled, moving around Luke to head back inside.
He wasn’t sure of anything much lately, but one thing he knew for sure was when they got back from the current case, he was heading straight to Y/N’s apartment.
I feel a little withdrawal baby,
Come pick me up
Took a hit from your level
Now I just can’t get enough
Your taste, my touch
A little bit of love and a whole lot of lust
He was back at her door, knocking.
She opened the door, dressed in another oversized t-shirt—due to the late hour of night—and greeted him with a wordless nod. Somehow, he thought she knew that he was having a bad time today.
He looked like shit, that he knew. His hair was a mess of tangled curls, his eyes were bloodshot and deep, dark bags shined brightly under his face, darker than his normal appearance. His cheekbones were more prominent lately as well since he wasn’t eating much, nor was he sleeping well either.
“How do you want me?” she asked.
Her tone was dull and to the point and threw him off guard for a moment. She’d never made it about her, ever. But now, looking at her, he could see her unhappiness. Whether he caused it or not, he was unsure.
This arrangement of theirs had been only to help him forget. Too quickly, it had become like an addiction for him. She was like his drug. He needed her to forget. But maybe, at the same time, she was tired of trying to help him when he couldn’t even help himself.
He promised himself that this would be the last time. Once more and he’d let her go. He’d let her be free of him. She’d be happier anyways.
“Doesn’t matter,” he said.
He tried to be gentle as he pulled her towards him. As he kissed her, he felt her body melt into his. Maybe he had been imagining her mood earlier.
He tried to focus on getting hard, not on all the horrors that constantly swirled in his mind.
His lips moved swiftly with hers in a kiss that was anything but romantic or gentle. It was lust driven and filled with his own desperate need to be distracted.
She knew exactly what to do to get him in the mood, that’s for sure.
Her teeth tugged at his lower lip gently, her tongue almost the complete opposite of their current actions. It was gentle and hesitant as it met his before continuing its dance with his own.
He pulled her closer, his hand tangled in her hair as he kissed her more roughly, pushing her against the arm of her couch.
In the blink of an eye, he had her turned around and bent over the arm, his hand gliding over the silk material of her underwear. He felt a small swell of pride hearing her moan as he touched her. It also went a long way in helping his own arousal which was now throbbing in his pants.
He was already unbuttoning his pants as he kissed her neck, his hips pressing into hers. The more he got into it, the more he actually felt that he wanted this—that he wanted her.
With one smooth movement, he had her underwear pulled down to her thighs and he entered her with a groan.
But he couldn’t focus.
Somehow, without him realizing it, the memories had slipped through a crack in his mind.
Instead of being there with Y/N, he was back in that cell.
The countless hours sitting in a cell, trying to remember something he never did.
The desperation, the helplessness in that place.
Familiar faces he dealt with sped across his mind.
Malcolm, Shaw, Delgado, Wilkins. Frazier, Duerson, the two men who gave him a beating meant for Delgado.
The fear he felt in those final days when he had no one to trust, when he had to stab himself in the leg to get into solitary confinement, just to stay alive.
The horrible memories were flashing in his head at the speed of lightning.
“Ow! Spencer, you’re hurting me.”
Spencer snapped back to the present, realizing his fingers were creating bruises on Y/N’s hips from his too tight grip.
“This isn’t working,” he said in way of an apology, pulling out of her.
He was already going soft anyway, the previous arousal now completely gone and replaced by his racing thoughts and memories.
“It’s fine,” she muttered, pulling down her t-shirt and pulling up her underwear.
He had just zipped up his suit pants—he’d come straight from the jet—when she spoke again.
“Actually, no. It’s not okay.”
Spencer blinked in surprise at her harsh tone. He didn’t think he’d ever heard her raise her voice.
“I’m sick of this Spencer! I know we started this a while ago for...reasons,” she flapped her hand in midair as if demonstrating all the unsaid things between them.
“But I can’t do it anymore. I care about you Spencer. Honestly right now I don’t know if it’s as more than a friend or just as a friend but that’s another can of worms to open another time. You can’t keep doing this! You can’t keep coming to me and fucking me to try and rid your demons. You’ve been through a hell of a lot and you didn’t deserve any of it, but I’m not going to stand her and watch my friend destroy himself because he refuses to get the help he so desperately needs.”
Spencer stood, frozen in place, mouth agape. It was then he saw tears shining in her eyes.
“We have a lot to sort out between us, eventually, but you need to help yourself first,” she whispered, as if feeling defeated by her previous outburst.
He didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know what he could say.
“I know facing everything, processing it all is a scary feeling, Spencer. Even if you tried reaching out to a friend to talk through it, that would be a big step. I just...I just want you to get better.”
A single tear slid down her cheek and he did the worst possible thing to do.
He fled her apartment like the coward he was.
He didn’t go home.
Instead, he walked around the city as the daylight receded and the sun slipped behind the horizon, saying goodnight to the world until the next day.
He spent a lot of time thinking.
He ended up dashing into a busy diner he came across as the night sky opened up and rain began falling in sheets.
He sat in his booth, absentmindedly sipping on the cup of coffee he’d ordered and watched the rain fall in the darkness outside.
In an ironic way, the weather outside was similar to the turmoil he felt inside.
Just like the completely blackened sky outside, he felt just as dark and empty. The storm was similar to the storm of emotions, memories, traumas he continually tried to squash, all in the wrong ways.
He knew ignoring his problems wouldn’t make them go away; he also knew using sex as a distraction was the worst possible thing to do as well, yet he’d continued to do it and he’d hurt more than just himself in the process.
He’d hurt his friends, who’d only wanted to help, but pushed them away. He’d hurt Y/N, who didn’t deserve to be treated like a plaything, yet he kept coming back, making things worse.
By the time he’d finished his coffee, he decided what he wanted to do. What he knew he needed to do.
I’m feeling pretty lonely baby,
So just let me in
Just let me in
He’d ran through the pouring rain. He didn’t even bother to try to take any transportation. The rain felt like it was washing him clean from the horrors of the last year.
He was back at her door, but this time, for a different reason.
He was soaking wet and felt a lot like a dog with his tail between his legs, but he refused to chicken out once again. So, he knocked.
She answered, this time in actual pajamas rather than the attire she was in hours before.
Maybe it was the expression he wore or something she saw in his face because she didn’t immediately slam the door in his face—something he knew he deserved. She stood patiently, almost questioningly, waiting for him to speak first.
He took a deep breath before speaking the words he should’ve uttered months ago.
“I’m ready to talk. I’m ready to get the help I need.”

Old Friends 5
Chapter 5!! Sorry I was busy today and didn’t get a chance to post it
Spencer Reid x Reader
Spencer helps Reader deal with nightmares.
Chapter 5:
Coffee was an everyday thing for me. But recently it has become a necessity.
The nightmares started after the case in my hometown, and I’ve barely slept since. Not for lack of trying.
I had my second cup of coffee before noon, and Morgan gave me a face. “Did the pretty girl get laid last night?”
I laughed bitterly. “Far from it I’m afraid.”
“Are you sure? Those bags under your eyes tell a different story.” Morgan continued to pester me all until I sat at my desk. He just chuckled and walked away.
JJ came by to drop a stack of files on my desk, and she gave me a look too. “Did you get laid last night?”
I dropped the pen I was holding. “Why does everyone keep asking me that?”
“Did you?” JJ persisted.
“Sorry to disappoint you JJ, but no I didn’t.” I faked a sad face. “Just a late night, that’s all.” Or a couple weeks worth of late nights.
In the desk next to me, Spencer gave me a look but didn’t say anything.
Hotch suddenly ran out of his office and knocked on Rossi’s door. They spoke a few words, and turned to look at us. “Everyone, grab your go bag. We’ll brief on the jet. Wheels up in 10.”
---
“Holden Baxley, a friend of mine from the Boston field office called me an hour ago. He couldn’t go into details, but long story short, a suicide bomber that hasn’t been identified walked into Boston PD with a bomb strapped to his chest.”
“Oh god,” JJ breathed. “What happened then?”
Hotch closed his eyes. “The bomb went off, and half of the Boston police department blew out with it.”
The jet was silent.
“How many casualties?” Morgan asked.
“17 and counting, 23 wounded.”
“Do they think it’s a one time explosion?” I could only imagine the kind of panic this would have in the city.
“No, because a note was left at the press two minutes before the bomber even walked into the station. The note read ‘God’s wrath will be unleashed on all who disrespect the word of the Lord.’”
“Old Testament much?” Rossi looked around the jet. “The fact that the news station is across town from Boston PD makes me think there’s more than one or two unsubs.”
“Guys,” I started. “What if it’s a cult turned terrorist cell?”
“That is possible, especially if the leader is a psychopath that suffered a loss and blames Boston PD.” Spencer furrowed his eyebrows. “The leader could’ve involved others that feel the same and want revenge against law enforcement. By taking on the persona of the wrath of God, they likely aren’t going to stop until they wreak ultimate havoc on the city in the name of religion.”
“We have to find them before they strike again. YLN, Reid, go to the explosion site. Prentiss, Morgan, set up in the Boston Field Office. JJ, Rossi and I will interview families of the victims and witnesses of the explosion. Try and work quickly. Something tells me we don’t have a lot of time.” Hotch didn’t miss a beat. “The wrath of God is about to be unleashed upon Boston.”
---
The entire right side of Boston PD was blown out into the street beside it. Crowds of citizens and TV news channels flooded the streets, barely being kept back by the lines of yellow tape.
“Spencer, how are we going to respond to the press?” I asked as we pulled up in the SUV.
“No comment, for now.”
As soon as we stepped out of the SUV, reporters and citizens alike screamed and shouted questions.
“Is this the work of terrorists?” “How do we know if we’re safe?” “What do you have to say to the victim’s families?”
“No comment.” Spencer and I held up our badges and ducked under the yellow tape.
“The psycho that blew the place up was blown to smithereens as well. We didn’t find any kind of ID on him.” A Boston FBI agent approached us. “Larry Dillman, Boston FBI.” He offered his hand to Spencer and I took it before it got too awkward when Spencer didn’t shake it.
“I’m SSA Dr. YFN YLN and this is SSA Dr. Spencer Reid. Where was the approximate location of the original blast?”
Dillman walked us through what was left of the front door. “About right there, when he walked into the main hall. It was noon, so there were more people busying about. That’s partly why the body count is so high.”
“Do you know if he said anything when he walked in?” Spencer asked.
“Witnesses have said he just yelled ‘Matthew 10:34’ and boom.”
“‘Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.’” Spencer recited.
“He is literally using the Bible as his scapegoat to commit terrorism.” I looked up at Spencer. “We need to get to the station.”
---
After checking out the explosion we hurried back to the station. “Hotch!” I called out. “He’s using God as a scapegoat to terrorize Boston. The massive rage confirms that they aren’t going to stop.”
“Excuse me, Agents,” a woman stood up from her desk. “There’s someone on line 1 wanting to talk to an agent from the BAU.”
Hotch pulled Rossi up to the phone and gestured to Morgan. “Call Garcia to track the call.”
Rossi slowly picked up the phone. “Hello, this is SSA David Rossi with the FBI. To whom am I speaking?”
“Is it too pretentious to say your worst nightmare?” The voice said. Obviously using a voice modulator, classic paranoid narcissist by building himself up to be some almighty being.
“Are you responsible for the attack on Boston PD?” Rossi asked. “Michael Devons incited massive panic with a small IED.”
“Boston PD? You mean that building full of liars, cheaters, and sinners?”
“God speaks of forgiveness, but you seem to carry a lot of hatred.” Rossi looked over all of us. “Are your friends listening to this phone call as well?”
The caller was silent for a while. “You may think we see this as a game, but we don’t. God plays no games with the people he creates.” The line goes dead and I release a breath I’ve been holding since he called.
“Garcia couldn’t track it, probably using a disposable cell phone,” Morgan pointed to the crime scene photos. “These guys are smart, using voice modulators, ensuring their members die for the cause, so why would they call us for no apparent reason?”
“A game...” I mumbled. “You make think we see this as a game...”
“What is it, YLN?” Prentiss asked me.
I gasped. “What if they’re testing us? That’s why they called, to see if we could figure out their next target... Fenway Park. Are there any baseball games today?”
“Slow down, brainy lady,” Morgan said slowly. “What are you thinking?”
“He said, ‘You may think we see this as a game, but we don’t.’ What if he wasn’t talking about the bombings but the baseball games? That’s all about choosing sides and that’s something God forbids. They would see every person in that stadium as a sinner.” I looked Hotch in the eyes. “The next target is Fenway Park, it has to be.”
Hotch pointed to the head of the field office. “Are there any baseball games at Fenway Park today?”
“Yeah, Sox versus Yankees.”
“We gotta get over there,” Hotch said and we all ran out the doors. “Swat will meet us there.”
---
“We can’t evacuate the stadium, that would set the bomber off early if they see people leaving,” Hotch explained as we got on our tactical gear. “Search the stadium, most likely they’re under the stands.”
“What do we do if we find the bomber?” JJ asked.
“Try to talk them down, if you can’t... shoot straight. Let’s go.”
The nearly empty corridors of Fenway Park were eerie as I walked by myself. Every now and then I would hear noise from the fans, and the smell of cheap nachos filled the air.
As I approached concessions, I looked at all the people in line. A young couple giggling at each other, a man probably in his 70s, a pregnant woman pushing a stroller.
And an isolated young man with a giant overcoat. As soon as he caught sight of me, the guy bolted.
“FBI! Out of the way!” I yelled. “Stop right there and put your hands up!”
To my surprise, he actually stopped.
“Put your hands on your head and turn around slowly. Everyone else, clear out of here.”
The man turned around, a smug smile on his face. “Romans 1:18!”
He started to unbuckle his overcoat.
He didn’t get the chance when I shot him between the eyes.
I took a shaky breath and called into my comm. “Suspect is down. Get bomb squad in here to take care of the explosive. Fifty feet away from concessions.”
The smile was still frozen on his face, even though half of his head was blown out.
---
I was quiet on the jet ride back. He wasn’t my first kill, but my first one with the BAU, and that was sure to ensue even more sleepless nights.
Spencer sat across from me. “You were even more impressive than usual with this case. Somehow you always raise the bar.”
“No kidding,” Rossi said in passing.
“So are you going to tell me about this nightmare you’re having or...” Spencer gave me a look. “You know talking about it will help.”
“Spencer-“
“Talk to me.” I could see in his eyes he wasn’t going to give up.
“Well, it starts out with me sitting with a teenage girl. She’s a patient, and she was talking about how her teacher was... messing with her. Slowly she disappears, and the room transforms into... my mom’s bedroom. She’s standing there, yelling at me. Except the louder she yells, the more blood comes out of her mouth.” I shake my head. “I try and help her, but no sound would come out. She wraps her hand around my throat, screaming at me and spitting blood in my face. I wake up before she brings her fist down on my jaw.
Spencer was quiet for a while. “...Could it be the apartment making the nightmares worse? Sometimes a change of scenery helps distract the subconscious from the nightmares.” Spencer twirled a pen through his fingers, and his eyebrows furrowed.
“Maybe, whenever I’m lying awake in my bed I’m looking around my bedroom instead of relaxing.”
Spencer thought about something. “Well... you could stay the night at my place if you want. I could sleep on the couch and you can take the bed.” I could see his nervousness in his darting eyes and twitchy hands.
I smile. “Spencer, that’s really nice but you don’t have to-“
“No, no. I want to help.” And I could tell he was serious.
“Okay sure, but on one condition- I take the couch and you sleep in your own bed.”
Spencer huffed a laugh. “Fine.”
---
The plane landed at 10:12 at night. Not super late, but after this case, everyone wanted to go to bed.
Hotch had made an announcement on the jet that we could take a half day tomorrow and come in at noon.
“Can’t wait to sleep in until 11:45,” Morgan joked on the elevator.
Since Spencer takes the train to work everyday, he hopped in my passengers seat and immediately made a face.
“What is it?” I asked, confused.
“Your car is disgusting,” Spencer said. “I’ve seen shantytowns cleaner than this.”
“Oh, shut up Mr. Cleanliness. A couple food wrappers does not make me a slob,” I lightly punched him in the shoulder as I pulled out of the parking garage.
“It’s more than a couple,” Spencer muttered.
“I’ve starting to regret agreeing to a sleepover, pretty boy.”
---
Sitting on Spencer’s couch eating popcorn and watching Doctor Who felt so much like college that I completely forgot about the fact that I could’ve been blown up today.
We were still watching Doctor Who on the couch when my eyes fell heavy. Slowly, my head rested on Spencer’s shoulder and started to doze off.
I was barely awake when I felt Spencer press a light kiss on my forehead.
His lips felt the same as they did in college.

“32,000 Christians Butchered to Death”: Muslim Persecution of Christians, May 2020
by Raymond Ibrahim
Tumblr media
The following are among the abuses Muslims inflicted on Christians throughout the month of May 2020:
The Slaughter of Christians
Nigeria: From January 2020 to mid-May 2020, Muslim terrorists massacred at least 620 Christians (470 by Fulani herdsmen and 150 by Boko Haram). According to a May 14 report:
Militant Fulani Herdsmen and Boko Haram … have intensified their anti-Christian violence … with hacking to death in the past four months and half of 2020 of no fewer than 620 defenseless Christians, and wanton burning or destruction of their centers of worship and learning. The atrocities against Christians have gone unchecked and risen to alarming apogee with the country’s security forces and concerned political actors looking the other way or colluding with the Jihadists. Houses burnt or destroyed during the period are in their hundreds; likewise dozens of Christian worship and learning centers.
The report further states that, since 2009, “not less than 32,000 Christians have been butchered to death by the country’s main Jihadists.”
Earlier this year, Christian Solidarity International issued a “Genocide Warning for Christians in Nigeria,” in response to the “rising tide of violence directed against Nigerian Christians and others classified as ‘infidels’ by Islamist militants…” More recently, in a May statement, the Christian Rights Agenda, another human rights group, expressed concern for “the seeming silence of Nigeria’s President, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, who as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces has not only failed to protect the Christian communities but has remained silent over these killings. To date, no Fulani herdsmen have been arrested and prosecuted over the killings, a development that has helped to embolden them.” It is worth noting that Buhari himself is a Fulani Muslim.
Separately, the Muslim man who murdered Michael Nnadi, an 18-year-old seminarian at the Good Shepherd Seminary, confessed from his jail cell that he did so because the youth “continued preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ” to his captors. According to the May 3 report, “the first day Nnadi was kidnapped … he did not allow [Mustapha Mohammed, his murderer] to have peace” due to his relentless preaching of the Gospel. Mohammed “did not like the confidence displayed by the young man and decided to send him to an early grave.”
Democratic Republic of Congo: Muslim fighters from the Allied Democratic Forces, which earlier pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS), murdered at least 17 people, possibly many more, in the Christian-majority (95%) African nation. “They fired several shots in the air,” a local said. “When the population was fleeing, they captured some people and cut them up with machetes.” In late 2019, the same group murdered a pastor after he refused to stop preaching and convert to Islam.
Attacks on Christian Churches, Cemeteries, and Crosses
Greece: Muslim migrants ransacked and transformed a church into their personal toilet. This public restroom was once the St. Catherine Church in Moria, a small town on the island of Lesvos, which has been flooded with migrants who arrived via Turkey. “The smell inside is unbearable,” said a local. “[T]he metropolitan of Mytilene is aware of the situation in the area, nevertheless, he does not wish to deal with it for his own reasons.” According to the report:
This is only the latest incident … [I]t has become extremely common for Greek Orthodox Churches to be vandalised and attacked by illegal immigrants on Lesvos….
As a deeply religious society, these attacks on churches are shocking to the Greek people and calls to question whether these illegal immigrants seeking a new life in Europe are willing to integrate and conform to the norms and values of their new countries.
These continued attacks have ultimately seen the people of Lesvos, who were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2016, become increasingly frustrated by the unresolved situation that has restricted and changed their lives as they no longer feel safe on their once near crime-free island.
Other incidents on Lesvos include “African immigrants ridiculing and coughing on police in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, and thousands of olives trees being destroyed.”
Tumblr media
St. Catherine’s in Lesvos, now a Muslim toilet.
Turkey: On May 8, a man tried to torch a church in Istanbul; the church had been attacked in the previous years, sometimes with hate-filled graffiti. When police detained the arsonist, he said “I burned it because they [Christians] brought the coronavirus [onto Turkey].” Discussing this incident, another report said that “Minorities in Turkey, such as Armenians, Rums and Syriacs [all Christians], as well as their places of worship, are occasionally targeted in hate attacks.”
Two weeks later, on May 22, in broad daylight, a man climbed the fence of a historic Armenian church in Istanbul and proceeded to yank off its metal cross and hurl it to the ground, as captured on surveillance footage. The man, who looks more like a Westernized “hipster” than an ardent Islamist, walks up to and stares at the cross for a while — he even looks at and strikes a pose for the security camera — before attacking the crucifix.
Pakistan: After Friday prayers on May 8, an armed Muslim mob shouting “anti-Christian slogans” attacked and tried to set fire to the Trinity Pentecostal Church in Hakeem Pura. Built 22 years ago, the church was desecrated, and a large cross and part of a wall broken. The Muslim man behind the attack had sold land to the growing church a year earlier, and now wanted it back. A Christian eyewitness said that the mob, “after attacking the walls and the cross, challenging anyone who dare oppose them, fled… Not only was the cross broken, but our hearts were crushed too.”
Separately, Muslim “land grabbers” seized, desecrated, and ploughed over the graves of a century-old Christian cemetery with a tractor. According to the May 22 report:
The Christian community there reportedly protested against the violation and tried to stop the vandalism. However, they were allegedly threatened with guns… [A]ll graves that were destroyed had crosses fixed on the top… [S]ome of the houses occupied by the Christians were demolished and people were forced to flee from their homes. Amid widespread discrimination against the Christian community in Pakistan, the properties owned by the minorities are often subjected to injustice including land grabbing and being the target of criminals. Moreover, the economic disparities and religious bias in Pakistan’s judiciary have increased the struggles Christians face to recover the lost land.
Serbia: On Sunday, May 31, two Muslim migrants entered the St. Alexander Nevsky Church in Belgrade during service and robbed several of the mostly elderly congregants. “There were two of them. They broke into the church during the liturgy, which was in progress, and they stole two purses along with three mobile phones,” a church leader said, adding:
Upon entering the temple, they split up on two sides, and after the people saw what was happening, they managed to catch one of them and take away his mobile phones and the money he stole. The other managed to escape. He took two purses, in one there were 3,500 dinars, while in the other there were 18,000, which was the entire pension of one woman. We handed that young man over to the police, while the other managed to escape. This is an insult. Isn’t anything sacred to people, such as the liturgy? Terrible.
Egypt: On May 30, 2020 — two days before President Trump recognized Global Coptic Day — Egyptian authorities demolished the only Coptic church in village of Koum al-Farag, even though it had stood for 15 years and served 3,000 Christians. According to the report:
The destruction of the church was a punishment for the ‘crime’ of building rooms for Sunday school…. When the work began, some extremist Muslims began to attack Christians.
A separate report on this incident relates:
According to an ancient Islamic tradition, or common law, churches are prevented from being formally recognised or displaying any Christian symbols if a mosque is built next to them.
The authorities decided to solve this issue by demolishing the church, which took a tractor “six long hours,” a Copt recalled:
The decision was not welcomed by the Christians in the village, so they protested by appearing at the site in possession of the documents. However, the police and some radicals began to insult and assault Christians, including women and children. The church leader received so many punches in the face and chest that he passed out.
In a separate attack in the early hours of May 16, “an air conditioning technician threw a Molotov cocktail inside the Virgin Mary Church in Alexandria.” According to the report:
Security camera footage led to his apprehension. Fortunately, no one was injured in this attack. Predictably, however, the prosecutors appear to be [pursuing] an acquittal on the claim that the perpetrator of the religious hate crime is also mentally ill. Based on precedent, it is extremely unlikely that this perpetrator will face any consequences for his attempt to torch a church.
Mozambique: Islamic terrorists attacked a monastery. The four monks residing in it managed to hide and emerge unscathed. However, the hospital they were building for a nearby village was destroyed by the armed Muslims. According to the May 18 report:
Little is known about the insurgents, and until recently there were doubts they were actually islamists, but they have claimed to be fighting for the imposition of Sharia law in the North of Mozambique…. The attack on the monastery, which included the destruction of a hospital that the monks were building in the village, is the second most serious attack against a Christian target since the troubles began. Last month a Catholic mission was also attacked, although, as here, nobody was killed. Other communities have not been so lucky, as the insurgents have left a trail of death and destruction behind them in the towns and villages they attack.
Nigeria: On May 7, a helicopter bombed and destroyed a church. The building was empty at the time; no casualties were reported. According to a local leader,
The helicopter used to hover around the area, dropping some things. We don’t know what they have been dropping but yesterday in the afternoon, the helicopter came and dropped a bomb … [The] Assembly of God church was destroyed including a nearby building…. Hours after the incident, a group of people numbering about 100 pass through the village carrying guns. Some were trekking while others rode on motorcycles. One of them was carrying a flag which is not a Nigerian flag; one other person was making some incantations in Arabic… People have fled the village… The question is who was in the helicopter dropping bomb?… We are very concerned … If it was a mistake by security agencies, they should come out and explain so as to allay the fears of the community.
Algeria: Four Muslim guards responsible for protecting a church vandalized and overturned its statue of the Virgin Mary. According to the report,
[T]he chapel of Santa Cruz built in stones extracted from the mountain of Murdjadjo where it is perched, was the object of an attempted theft… Four looters allegedly destroyed the statue of the Virgin Mary by attempting to steal it. They have even destroyed other holy monuments in their path….
It was later found, however, that the chapel’s four hired guards were themselves the “looters” responsible for the desecration. The report continues:
In addition, the Christian community in Algeria denounces… the intimidation which the faithful are subject to. Many Christians have denounced the series of closings of churches in the national territory. Several evangelical associations and organizations have called for an end to “the increasing pressure and intimidation from the Algerian government.”
Iran: On Sunday, May 17, a Christian cemetery was set ablaze, just two days after the tomb of the biblical Esther and Mordecai was also set on fire on the 72nd anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel. Damage at the tomb — a holy site shared by Jews and Christians — was reportedly minimal. Few other details concerning the burned Christian cemetery aside from video footage showing smoke billowing over its walls are available. A Hindu temple was also reportedly set on fire in May.
France: Unknown vandals cut down an iconic iron cross that had stood on the summit of Pic Saint-Loup since 1911 and was visible for miles around. According to the May 14 report,
While Europe has experienced a growing number of acts of vandalism and profanation of Christian sites, the greatest number of such acts have occurred in France, where churches, schools, cemeteries, and monuments “are being vandalized, desecrated, and burned at an average rate of three per day,” according to reports drawing from government statistics.
Although the identity of the vandals responsible for this latest outrage is unknown, it appears that Western European nations that have large Muslim migrant populations are seeing a disproportionate rise in attacks on churches and Christian symbols. According to a 2017 study on France — which has the largest Muslim population in Europe — “Islamist extremist attacks on Christians” rose by 38%, going from 273 attacks in 2015 to 376 in 2016; the majority occurred during Christmas season and “many of the attacks took place in churches and other places of worship.” Similarly, around Christmas 2016, in a German region where more than a million Muslims reside, some 50 public Christian statues (including those of Jesus) were beheaded and crucifixes broken.
Abduction, Rape, and Forced Conversion of Christian Women
Nigeria: Between March 23 and April 30, six young Christian girls and one older married woman were kidnapped. “We are saddened to report to you the battles we have been fighting even amidst the lockdown,” the Hausa Christians Foundation reported on May 4, adding that it “has been working on the following tragic incidences of abduction and forceful Islamization, despite the fact that the lockdown has limited our efforts.” The statement continues:
The usual practice is that these girls will be forced into marriage and perpetually be abused sexually, physical and emotionally. We are doing our best to rescue these precious lives but our efforts have been truncated by the current government imposed lockdown that has put everything on hold…. The simple reason for the injustice and the persecution we have been subjected to… is because of our faith in Christ Jesus.
Two of the young girls have since been rescued.
Pakistan: Another young Christian girl was kidnapped. According to a May 2 report,
On Sunday, April 26, a 14-year-old Christian girl … was abducted by a group of armed Muslim men… [T]he Christian girl’s family has filed a police report and is begging police to recover their relative…. Myra Shehbaz was abducted by a group of Muslim men led by Muhammad Naqash. Eye witnesses claim that Myra was attacked while she was traveling to her workplace as a domestic worker on Sunday afternoon…. Myra’s abductors forced her into a car and Myra tried to resist…. [The] abductors were armed and fired several shots into the air…. [The girl’s mother] fears her daughter will be raped, forcefully converted is [sic] Islam, or even killed…. [A]n estimated 1,000 women and girls from Pakistan’s Hindu and Christian community are assaulted, abducted, forcefully married to their captor, and forcibly converted to Islam every year.
Egypt: In a May 22 report, Coptic Solidarity, a human rights organization focused on the plight of Egypt’s Christians, made the following remarks:
The indigenous Coptic Christians of Egypt continue to experience increasing persecution, by the government and society…. To illustrate, at least five Coptic women, including some minors, have reportedly been kidnapped or disappeared in just the last few weeks, and Egyptian state security has made no concerted effort to recover them…. Ranya Abd al-Masih, a Coptic wife and mother of three from a town just north of the capital, Cairo… remains hidden despite protests, including from the region’s church, which laments “the total lack of reaction by the authorities.”
Hate for and Abuse of Christians
Austria: A local newspaper reported:
A graffiti that rightly causes a lot of agitation. The lettering “Christians must die” can be seen at the Traisen-Markt train station. Above it, in the same style, the words “Allach Akkbar” [sic]. The removal of the graffiti has already begun and will cost about 500 Euros.
Uganda: A Muslim father burned his daughter for converting to Christianity. While traveling with her father, a sheikh (respected elder) of the Muslim community, Rehema Kyomuhendo, 24, heard the gospel and secretly converted. On the night of May 4, while she and her father were staying at her aunt’s home, she called a Christian associate: “As she was sharing Christ with me, I was so overjoyed,” Rehema later explained, “and my father heard my joy and woke up, came from his bedroom furiously and started beating me up with blows, slaps and kicks.” He also shouted that he was “going to kill her.” He broke a gas container, lit the pieces with the unspilt fuel, and began to burn his daughter. Her cries awakened her aunt, who protected her from the sheikh. Last reported, Rehema was expected to need more than a month of hospitalization due to “serious burns on her leg, stomach, rib area, near her neck and on part of her back.” No one has “reported the assault to police for fear that her father might try kill her.”
Pakistan: In another example of abuse of Christians in connection to COVID-19, “an Islamic cleric claims his organization is using COVID-19 food aid to convert non-Muslims to Islam,” according to a May 8 report. Speaking on Pakistani television, the cleric boasted of how when a destitute Christian man came for aid, the “staff of the organization offered him conversion against food which he accepted.” The man was subsequently renamed Muhammad Ramadan, signifying his conversion had occurred during the Muslim holy month. The cleric had added that Muhammad was then fasting (which is ironic considering hunger is what prompted him to convert in the first place).
About this Series
The persecution of Christians in the Islamic world has become endemic.  Accordingly, “Muslim Persecution of Christians” was developed in 2011 to collate some—by no means all—of the instances of persecution that occur or are reported each month. It serves two purposes:
1)          To document that which the mainstream media does not: the habitual, if not chronic, persecution of Christians.
2)          To show that such persecution is not “random,” but systematic and interrelated—that it is rooted in a worldview inspired by Islamic Sharia.
Accordingly, whatever the anecdote of persecution, it typically fits under a specific theme, including hatred for churches and other Christian symbols; apostasy, blasphemy, and proselytism laws that criminalize and sometimes punish with death those who “offend” Islam; sexual abuse of Christian women; forced conversions to Islam;  theft and plunder in lieu of jizya (financial tribute expected from non-Muslims); overall expectations for Christians to behave like cowed dhimmis, or second-class, “tolerated” citizens; and simple violence and murder. Sometimes it is a combination thereof.
Because these accounts of persecution span different ethnicities, languages, and locales—from Morocco in the West, to Indonesia in the East—it should be clear that one thing alone binds them: Islam—whether the strict application of Islamic Sharia law, or the supremacist culture born of it.

Quoth Wikipedia, the Daevas are from the earliest books of Zoroastrianism, "gods that are (to be) rejected". This sounds awfully familiar. Is it at all likely that Meguro took some level of inspiration from this in his lyrics?
Not a chance! I continue to believe that all the voices in the Nocturne battles are sampled, because they are overall meaningless to the themes of the game. There was lots of sampling going on in the Japanese composition scene around then. For example, Chrono Cross uses sampled sequences I would later hear on a History Channel show, and P3′s Iwatodai dorm theme’s raps are from a sample pack. I COMPLETELY forgot we found the battle voices are combined text-to-speech + Meguro’s own voice. So, samples: no, but Meguro copying/pasting stuff from the Bible: maybe.
But because you gave me the opening, here’s a collection of some recent thoughts about Ahura Mazda and SMT. Yes, the few times Ahura Mazda appears beyond Megami Tensei II, he’s Chaotic. Yes, it’s because of the conflation with Asura. And yes, I think that would still be the case if he came back in a new game. Dx2 brought Tenma back, but I doubt it would be needed in a main game with Fury around, so a Fury Ahura Mazda would be. But we’ll get back to that. (Side note: an anon sent me a while back that Dx2 Agni looks neat–YES!)
Tumblr media
Moving on to that Asura (specifically Ashura King-Ahura Mazda) connection that always manages to find its way to the surface. I did a straightforward search for “ahura mazda in hinduism.” This Quora answer to a question about Ahura Mazda and Brahman links Ahura Mazda to a figure from the Rig Vedas I’ve never heard of before: Asura Pitr (in Japanese, アスラ・ピトリ; not exactly a popular term, though); pitr like pater, father or patriarch. Is this is the actual missing link that connects Vairocana to Asura to Ahura Mazda?
Probably not, it turns out. The Quora answerer seems to be a lone wolf. The episode of the Rig Vedas in question (10.124) is about Indra trying to get a number of gods (Agni, Varuna, Soma) to his side and reject this Asura Pitr (hey, rejection). Here are some quotes:
1. (Indra, speaking for the Devas:) Come hither, Agni, to this our sacrifice, of five ways, three-fold, and seven-threaded. Be our oblation-bearer, our leader too! Long, too long hast thou lain in darkness.
2. (Agni:) Leaving the Non-Deva secretly and by hidden ways, as a Deva, foresighted, I go to immortality. When [Asura Pitr](tho) gracious I ungraciously desert, I go from my natural friends to a strange household.
3. (Varuna:) Seeing (that) the guest (i. e. Agni) (is now) of the other branch, I measure out many ordinances of the sacrifice. I say farewell to the Asura Pitr, I go from the portion that is without sacrifice to that which has the sacrifice.
4. (Soma:) Many years have I passed within him. (Now) I have chosen Indra and desert the father.
This is discussed in an old article by Indologist W. Norman Brown, who assumes that Asura Pitr is Vritra. Makes sense, considering the noted rivalry between Indra and Vritra. The Asura are also not entirely demonized yet as of 10.124, just another class of gods who may nonetheless be going out of style, albeit at a rapid pace once the others leave Vritra behind. Brown died in the ‘70s but this Vritra assumption still seems common; otherwise the popular notion is that Ahura Mazda’s laws and contracts are cognate to Vedic Varuna or Mitra.
All this to say that none of what I just went over is going to matter to SMT, because in its eyes, Ahura Mazda and Asura are one and the same. Thus, my recent revelation: Ahura Mazda would be eligible to do anything Asura-oh has done, though this mostly entails being a Chaos rep. Or, maybe more sensibly Neutral/Deity because that’s what he was in MT2, plus that’s what Vairocana is. Either way, hopefully Ahura Mazda will avoid having to complain about desiring his true form, Ahura Mazda.
Tumblr media
However, here’s Zurvan from the SMT if… cell phone game. You can already feel the dread-dumb approaching, I know. I’ve said in the past that the dualism of Zurvan and its/their sons Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu will be impossible for Atlus to ignore as they run out of demiurges. @b-reis did me one better and suggested a scenario where Mazda and Mainyu will fuse (overlayed with only the most inappropriate symbols, naturally) to create Zurvan. When Devilman is a primary source, nothing matters! Everyone is everything, simultaneously! It is impossible to reject “another” god, because once you reject one, you reject them all!

I interrupt my normal programming of posts about movies, TV shows, art, books and everything I love, to tell you this:
If you’re thinking about sharing something about Venezuela, make sure you have all the facts and not just the Government-approved “facts”.
I get it. It’s difficult. The Venezuelan Government controls almost all the media, and those they don’t control are threatened into silence. So when you Google what’s going on, you’ll find yourself thinking we live in the most wonderful place on Earth.
We don’t.
Here are nuggets of information that can help you understand:
1- No, what happened is not a coup. Guaidó is using our Constitution -articles 233 and 333- against Maduro, showing him that his illegal means to get things done have, finally, backfired. The figure of “interim President” is completely legal, and has been used by the Government before after an actual coup -but they’ve conveniently forgotten about it!
2- No, Maduro wasn’t elected in a "transparent” election. Prior to it, he: moved the date of the event to benefit him, imprisoned / disabled our main candidates, stole the National Assembly’s faculties -which was composed mostly of the Opposition after a massive popular election, and that pissed him off- and gave it to an illegal alternate Assembly appointed by him and his cabinet -which was supposed to change the Constitution, but later became an institution that could act above the law and responding to no one but themselves-, and changed the members of the Supreme Court and the Electoral Council so they were both composed mostly of -you guessed it!- people in line with his ideas.
Oh! And Smartmatic, the company in charge of those “transparent” elections Maduro-loving foreigners love to talk about so much, admitted the numbers given by the Government in favor of the illegal alternate Assembly had been tampered with.
So, what did the Opposition do? Tried to negotiate and to reinstate a more level ground with certain conditions, he refused and went on to do his election anyway. Which, by the way, had the lowest turnout in recent years, since people refused to participate in his sham.
Did he care?
No.
Now, tell me: after all that, would you have voted in that election, considering that glorious landscape?
Probably not.
3- The Opposition isn’t perfect. They have done really shitty things and let down their own people over and over again.
Still, today, we are in the hands of people who are completely inept at doing the only thing we pay them to do: care for their own people and managing our resources fairly. Because, remember: we owe them no loyalty. They’re our employees. The people we pay and trust to handle our resources correctly.
If they can’t do their job and people are suffering, dying and fleeing the country on foot, risking their lives in the process... we are just supposed to just...take it until they’re done screwing us over?
Why do we have to bear the people who have been in control of everything for almost 20 years and given away our oil and resources to Cuba, China and Russia?
Guaidó is a young politician. For many, he represents change, and we not only yearn for it, but we need it.
4- The Government relies on an empty ideological war to keep itself going. It’s easier to tell people that, sure, everything can be blamed on the U.S; instead of holding Government officials accountable for corruption, squandering and failure.
The worst part is: foreigners eat it up! They love the Venezuelan Government although they have never set foot in the country and would never give up their comfortable lives to come here.
These are also the same people who are very concerned about our oil and resources going to the U.S, but conveniently forget that:
a- our Government hates the U.S but has no problem receiving their mighty dollars after selling their oil almost exclusively to them -so the U.S already has most of our oil, darlings!
and b- our Government loves to buy allies like Cuba, Russia and China by giving away our oil and resources to them. But I guess being under the thumb of those countries is perfectly Ok. Good Imperialism, right?
5- No, your country isn’t doing worse than us. Yes, every country has violence and poverty, unfortunately. But let me give you a little list of what we’re going through:
- Famine
- A staggering scarcity of food, medicine, and medical supplies -which, by the way, kills patients in hospitals every day
- A high rate of child mortality, like never before
- Illnesses that had been eradicated are coming back
- An inflation rate around 1300000.00 -yes, that many zeroes!- percent
- Our technology is mostly outdated, and anything new is unaffordable for a regular citizen
- We have one of the most dangerous capitals of the world, and people abandon the streets as soon as the sun comes down, out of fear
- There’s total impunity since our policemen have no resources -or legal ability, thanks to laws passed by Chavez and company- to actually get things done or protect us
- Suicide rates have skyrocketed in the last few years
- Many schools and businesses have closed because they can’t keep up with the inflation
- A large majority of the youth has left the country
... and I’ll stop there, because I could go on, but I think you can get a pretty good picture just from that.
So no. Things might be bad in your country, but if you go into a store you will probably see aisles properly stocked, and you probably don’t live with the crippling fear of getting sick or killed on the streets for that old cellphone that took months to pay. If anything, you can have hope. Which is something we lost a long time ago.
6- My experience is not less important than what you think you know. I’ve lived here for 27 years, and lived under this regime for almost 20 years of my life. I’ve lost friends, family, people I love. I work three jobs. I never have enough money to save and provide for a better life for my family. My grandmother and mother were middle-class women who worked all of their lives, and still, they have nothing left because we’ve had to use our combined savings to survive in the last 6 years.
My mother and I have cell phones, we need them for our jobs, but we don’t take them out with us anywhere because we know we could get killed for it. So when one of us goes out, the other stays at home praying nothing bad will happen to me/her.
We sold our second-hand car because we couldn’t afford to maintain it, so we depend on our feet and pitiful public transportation to get where we need to go.
We’re afraid of getting sick. And I haven’t had a check-up since 2016 -which was paid by my job at the time.
Still, I’ve had to deal with pro-Maduro foreigners since yesterday -like, for example, Boots Riley-, spouting “facts” at me and dismissing my struggle. Because, I guess, I don’t matter.
So, don’t tell me how the statistics you Googled have convinced you that Venezuela is a wonderful paradise and we all love Maduro. Don’t tell me that my experience contradicts what you think you know, so therefore I’m either lying or unimportant. Keep your Venezuelasplaining to yourself, because I have to actually live it.
So. PSA over!
There’s so much more to say, and so many things to consider...But for now, continue with your lives, and please help educate people outside.
We need it.

Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Breaking news
A fire in the suburbs leaves home to its foundations. It has been confirmed of the family of three who lived there, two have died and the son of the couple is missing.
You are asked if you have information about the boy, notify the authorities immediately.
.
.
.
“He was getting better”. The teacher thinks as she reads the news in the morning paper. It was on the first page with large letters and a semi-censored photo. Bellwood was a small city; everyone knew who was spoken of when they mentioned the family only by last name.
The Tennyson family. How? When? And most importantly, why?
Ben was improving, his last jobs were going well. Everything seemed normal with him. Same attitude, just a different approach in your work. She had seen it only yesterday! Sitting in his usual seat doing a joke in bad taste!
The classroom filled while she continued in her musings. All seats occupied except one.
―Since it is the last day of school, I think we can exhaust the work and spend a recreational time. ― The children howled excitedly. Saving the newspaper, she sat at his desk contemplating the empty seat in the middle.
.
.
.
Kevin was walking the streets of Bellwood. Yes, at that point he should have left the city, but he had stayed for the tranquility of the city. Of course it was not because of the boy who had helped him. Of course not.
“That will be ridiculous”. With his hands tucked in his pockets, he stepped in front of a television store when the news channel caught his attention. He paid half attention to what the T.V. said until the image of a familiar face was shown.
-Ben ... - Missing? His dead parents? No traces of the culprit. Nor where Ben could be from. His first thought was the robots that had attacked them. The boy was obviously in a big problem, but he did not want to go deeper than necessary. He simply gave him a phone with a promise now empty.
"Dead, I'm sure he's dead." Kevin stumbled backwards crashing into a man who saw the same news.
―An unfair universe Do not you think? He was just a boy. ― The tall man with the padlocked beard did not see him when he spoke about the news, his eyes glued to the screens. Kevin returned his sight to the screens before nodding. ― Did you know him? ―
―Something like that. I just know he don´t deserve this. ―
―A lot of people don´t deserve a faith so cruel, but are creatures who doesn´t care the destruction leave in its path. ― All his attention it was now in the tall man who looked back.
―Why I feel you know more than the news? ― He suspicions glaze concentrate in the man with the enigmatic smile, “Who is him?”
―Maybe because I knew more than you imagine. ― He start to walk an away to Kevin. ― If you want to know more, you can come with me and find out. ―
Kevin thought for a moment. “It was just a good person”. Kevin start to follow the man until he was side him.
―Kevin Levin. ―
―Nice to meet your agent Levin, my name is Servantis. ―
.
.
.
They television screen was black for some time. When the news began to pass the photos they had on the scene of the crime her mother had covered his eyes, something useless since she ended up seeing everything, and her father turned off the TV as fast as he could, again useless. Both adults mobilized, called the authorities, their grandfather, anyone who could help them understand what had happened or find a culprit.
Gwen simply stood still, sitting in her place in the lounge chair. Paralyzed, in shock. She saw it yesterday. Her favorite uncles, her cousin's fool. It was only yesterday. She hopes something, perhaps that her uncles would enter the door of her house saying that the news was false, followed by Ben who began to mock her for believing that.
Nothing happened. The sounds around her grew numb, tears came down from her eyes. She was not going to see him again; she was not going to call him a fool again. They were not going to go that trip with their grandfather. She was not going to bother him again. They were not going to share birthdays again. Why?
Because Ben is dead
Her mind was lost; she was not truly conscious around her. In the chaos that her mind reflected to the outside world.
Frank went to see his daughter finding her levitating on the sofa with a pink glow around her body and lights coming out of her eyes while screaming in pain, throwing slings of power that destroyed the entire room. Undoing and doing everything over her will.
― Gwen! ― His scream alerted his wife and his father, who arrived recently. He never thought that his daughter could inherit his mother's powers.
They tried to calm her down, but they could not even get close to her without their energy driving them away. So much power and so little control. Not that they could blame her. Frank felt a familiar presence enter his house, a little before a trail of calm pink light came down from the ceiling and approached his daughter.
With a touch to Gwen's temple, the energy that came out of it began to fade until it was completely absent. He approached his mother in an anodic way that had her granddaughter passed out in her arms.
Everyone exhaled in horror at the sight of Gwen's face, above and below her left eye was a lightning-shaped wound that shone brightly pink.
A rupture of his humanity.

Plumbers Report # 1324. Case of the Tennyson family.
After reviewing the area indicated by the anonymous, which is still being searched, the tests show alien technology. Specifically, from the conqueror Vilgax. No trace of him is found, beyond DNA tests (Blood).
Dead:
Carl Tennyson
Sandra Tennyson
Missing:
Benjamin Tennyson
Vilgax The conqueror
Notes:
Destroyed pieces of what appears to be Galván technology were found.
It was little, almost nothing. And that only made him angry even more. Max wrinkled the sheet in his hand, throwing it away from his sight. His son and his daughter-in-law, dead. And his dear Ben disappeared. Will Vilgax have taken it? Was he dead or in space? Why did this happen?
Many questions filled his head and none of them found an answer. Furious tears fell from his eyes as he knelt on the floor of his camper, he does not know how long he cries before felt the arms of his ex-wife surrounding him in a hug.
So long lying, so long wanting to protect his family from his work. For nothing. If hiding it did not save them from the dangers of space, perhaps training them was the solution.
.
.
.
He felt pain. A lot of pain throughout his body. Like a flare of fire that slowly destroyed him, burning every part of his being. And then relief, gradually everything was disappearing the pain that previously killed him now was leaving him free.
He did not know how long his eyes were closed, maybe too much, because when he opened them he had to close them again because of the few lights that were incandescent for him.
― Don't move much, Benjamin. ― A voice, small but soft. Old, but known. Fill his senses giving him a feeling of being safe. ―The damage you did to your imprudence is almost healed. It will not be the same as before, but you will survive. ―
His dry throat cried out for water in the form of a cough, a hand he did not recognize raised his head carefully as brought a glass of water to his lips. He drank what he could without choking.
― How you feel? ― This time he opened his eyes carefully focusing on the little being. Familiar and distant at the same time.
― I been better. ―
― Obviously. How it occurred to you to take the omnitrix despite my warnings goes beyond my knowledge. ―
―Omnitrix ... ― That sounded familiar, he just could not put his finger on why. ― You're the omnitrix? ―
Azmuth stared at him for a second without expression, even though inside he was mortified. “Of course, how could I expect that cell damage would not affect his memory. Although this could be a good thing.”
Azmuth ran his hand over Ben's head, instinctively reaching out for comfort.
― I have a lot to explain to you, Benjamin. But for now you have to rest. ― The boy nodded before entering the arms of Morpheus. Azmuth gave him one last look before leaving the medical room with Mayx following him.
― Then, when are you going to return to earth? ―
―I'm not going to do it. ―  Mayx opened her eyes in surprise before smiling shamelessly.
― Don't take you for a kidnapper or the fatherly type. ― Azmuth did not answer simply kept walking in his main lab. With the arrangements of the omnitrix there was, to put it in some way, healed Ben. Although now all his life will have to have the omnitrix stuck to his wrist. ― Exactly, what will you do with him? ―
― What do you care? ―
― I´m curious, not every day you see the all knowledge Azmuth careen for someone beside him. ―
―If you are so interesting, he will stay here we me. Him and the omnitrix will be save for all the creatures of the universe. ― He “great” invent cause all this disaster. All this damage, if just can destroyed. But for now it the only thing keeps alive Ben.
Benjamin, the boy who give everything to save something it was worthless.
―That sound like a father will said. ― Azmuth give her a dirty glaze before back in his things. He has to fortify the defense and put camouflage fields.
―If you don´t have anything to do here, I suggestion to leave. Your services for the omnitrix are not necessary. ― Mayx thing about for a minute looking this Azmuth who are transformer, if he knew or not it was irreverent. She wants to see how all this will develop.
―I think I will stay, maybe help you with that defense. ―
―Do want you want. ―

You have lived in the U.S. for 30 years. You’re speeding a little to get to work when you’re pulled over. First they realize you have no license. Then they realize you have no papers. You get thrown in jail. You need your wife, a U.S. citizen, to gather documents for you. But she is undergoing chemotherapy and her memory isn’t working right. After a few weeks, her phone number goes dead. Is she in intensive care? Was she evicted? You don’t know. You are trapped in prison and have no one else to call. You explain the situation to the judge and he gives you a few extensions. Then, finally, he says his hands are tied. You’ve presented him with no evidence. You are deported back to a country you haven’t seen since you were 10. You still don’t know if your wife is alive or dead.
You work in a factory where the boss won’t turn on the heat in the wintertime, where you aren’t allowed to use the bathroom, where you get paid less than the documented workers for the same labor. You and your colleagues take a list of complaints to your boss’s office one day. He greets you with a loaded gun. You are afraid to complain again after that. Then a SWAT team raids the factory and rounds you all up. You have young U.S. citizen children, so they don’t want to deport you immediately, because your children would become burdens on the state. But every day from now on, immigration is watching you. When they call you on the phone, you must answer. When they summon you to see them, you must go. Every few years, they slap an ankle monitor on you, and then take it off again, and then put it back on you, without explanation. Every so often, they threaten to make you buy plane tickets. They tell you they can deport you whenever they want. They have already deported several of your former coworkers who are in the same situation. You are always one slip-up away from being ripped away from your family. You can’t sleep at night. When you try to picture your future, all you see is a blind fog.
When we talk about enforcing immigration laws, it’s important to be quite specific about what we mean. Immigration enforcement is not words on paper. It is a constant, daily sequence of concrete acts. It is kicking down people’s doors, it is putting people in handcuffs, it is taking people’s photographs and fingerprints, it is locking people in cages, it is forcing people into cars and buses and planes. Some of these acts happen at the border, when the government tries to block people from entering. Some of them happen inside the country, when the government hunts down those with irregular status. Sometimes, this immigration enforcement is explicitly violent, like when Border Patrol officials unleash teargas (a chemical weapon banned in warfare) on toddlers, when they rip children from their mothers’ arms, when they kick women huddled on the concrete floors of border cells and scream at them that they are animals. Other times it’s something humdrum and largely invisible: the border guard who calmly tells an asylum seeker at a port of entry that there is “no more room” in the U.S., the judge who silently decides that the terrified person in front of them hasn’t done quite enough to deserve a favorable exercise of discretion, the police officer who has a funny habit of always stopping cars with Hispanic-looking drivers, the countless bureaucrats who review immigration applications and deny them without explanation. All of these acts, from the monstrous to the mundane, have real-world effects on individual people. They mean families separated, whether by deportation or by the hard border that keeps an undocumented breadwinner from ever again visiting the children he had to leave behind. They mean people dying horribly, because they are forced to return to life-threatening danger, or because they become ill in the U.S. and are scared to go the hospital for fear their lack of status will be discovered. They mean workers exploited, because the threat of deportation keeps them under the thumb of their boss, or because arbitrary territorial lines prevent them from seeking better employment conditions in another place.
Immigration policy in the United States cannot be discussed in the abstract. Unless we talk about what our immigration laws actually mean for people’s lives, we’ll have no way to sensibly evaluate them. There are about 11 million unauthorized immigrants in the United States, and several hundred thousand arrested and deported annually. Beneath the statistics, there is fear and pain. Every choice of what laws to have and how to enforce them produces consequences: workplaces raided, kids pulled out of school, women being turned back to face domestic violence.
This context is important when we turn to Angela Nagle’s “The Left Case Against Open Borders,” recently published in American Affairs (formerly the explicitly pro-Trump Journal of American Greatness). Nagle confidently informs us that all mass migration is inherently tragic, and that incentivizing it with overly liberal immigration policies, although it seems kind, is actually cruel. The “open borders left,” Nagle declares, by embracing unrestricted immigration, is hurting the very people they are trying to help, and undermining the prospects for successful labor organizing and a restructuring of the global economic system. She goes so far as to argue that advocates of unrestricted free movement are the “useful idiots of big business,” because they are sanctioning the exploitation of imported laborers. Instead of addressing the root causes of economic migration, they have allied with the Koch Brothers in advocating “open borders.” This “open borders left” has a radically ignorant set of priorities, reacting to Trumpism by embracing Koch-ism, and ignoring the way that unrestricted migration serves the interests of the capitalist class by dividing workers and depressing wages.

Now, because Nagle (supposedly) cares about immigrants, she doesn’t want to see them teargassed at the border or hunted down by immigration police. What she doeswant to see is employers who employ undocumented workers being punished by the state, so that they don’t hire undocumented workers anymore. This is the only concrete policy proposal in Nagle’s entire piece, and at no point does she discuss what its enforcement would actually look like. That’s because the enforcement of this policy proposal would look pretty fucking monstrous. In fact, the “E-Verify” system Nagle touts as a humane alternative to ICE is a system that people like Ann Coulterand Kris Kobach have long been putting forward as the ideal immigration restrictionist policy. (Given such political bedfellows, by Angela Nagle’s logic we might accuse her of being the useful idiot of white nationalism. Then again, Angela Nagle’s logic is terrible.) E-Verify is the central piece of a slate of an anti-immigrant policies designed to encourage “self-deportation”: that is, making life so miserable for undocumented people in the U.S., making them so poor and desperate and demoralized and afraid, that they decide to leave the country of their own accord. As the anti-immigrant Center for Immigrant Studies describes, the goal of self-deportation is to “create ‘virtual choke points’—events that are necessary for life in a modern society but are infrequent enough not to bog down everyone’s daily business. Another analogy for this concept to firewalls in computer systems, that people could pass through only if their legal status is verified. The objective is not mainly to identify illegal aliens for arrest (though that will always be a possibility) but rather to make it as difficult as possible for illegal aliens to live a normal life here.”
The fact that a self-described leftist like Nagle would openly support E-Verify shows that she is, at best, so grossly uninformed about immigration policy that it was irresponsible for her to commentate on it. At worst, it might be that she genuinely does not give a shit about the suffering of immigrants and is perfectly happy to sacrifice them to political expediency. Either way, she is not a credible exponent of what “the left” ought to think about anything.
However, ideas like Nagle’s have proven persuasive to a number of people over the years, so it’s worth going through her essay and dissecting each of her claims. First, Nagle argues that “the left” has historically (and wisely) opposed mass immigration as detrimental to worker interests. Secondly, she argues that there are no compelling arguments in favor of open borders or free movement other than those put forward by “big business,” whose only desire to exploit cheap labor. Thirdly, she argues that using the E-verify system to target employers of undocumented workers, rather than the workers themselves, is a humane way to keep undocumented people out of the workforce. Finally, she argues that immigrants don’t truly want to migrate anyway, so we should block them from doing so, and in the meantime just go about fixing all the problems that caused them to feel they needed to migrate in the first place.

My husband was involved in a car accident 2 years ago...the people filed a claim/law suit recently over some 'injuries' (which is BS because he works with this guy and he was no injured), just 2 days before statue of limitation expires. Since my husband's work requires so much traveling, it was pointless for him to keep car/insurance if he never drives, we sold his car so he no longer has car insurance. Best Averaged sized car for a teenager?
So I'm going for my license soon and we're starting to look at cars to get me around. I want something that's pretty easy on gas, reliable, easy on car insurance cost, doesn't cost an arm and a leg but ALSO isn't a tiny car like the Chevy Aveo because most of the people in my family are pretty tall for instance my mom is 5'9 I'm 5'7 /5'8 and my other sisters are also about the same height. I've been thinking about the Prius because I hear it's got some leg room and is easy on gas, but people say that batteries are more harmful than regular ones and all this jazz. Then I thought about the Honda Insight but I heard that the headroom in the back is not comfortable. I was thinking the Hyundai Sonata, but the only model I really like is the 2011 and I don't think the insurance company takes kindly to teenagers driving new cars. I would prefer not too big or long a car like the Toyota Avalon, but it's manageable. Any suggestions?""

regarding the 80% increase in insurance premiums, and the 11% increase in the number of Americans who did not have health insurance coverage during the Bush presidency, was that because a magical elf traveled back in time to the year 2000 to tell insurance company executives that Obamacare was coming? Or could it be that insurance premiums have been increasing at an average rate of 8 to 11% per year for about the last 15 years and the increases we've seen in the last few years aren't indicative of costs associated with Obama-care (Which hasn't even been fully implemented yet) and Conservatives are just trying to make political hay out of cost increases that are consistent with established trends?""
How does the insurance company find out about moving violations?
My understanding is that when you get a moving violation (e.g, a speeding ticket), the police or the courts or whoever will notify your insurance company. When your insurance company finds out and finds out about the points that are now on your license, they raise your insurance premium. However, a friend tells me that he's received several speeding tickets, that his insurance company has never found out (meaning no one is notifying his insurance company), and that his premium has therefore never gone up. How is that possible?""

Car insurance for husband and wife.?
Recently I went to insure my daughter and her car in the company me and my wife have been insured for some time. I wanted to include myself in her insurance but it went up in premiums a lot and we decided to insure her without me as an additional driver. Before that (last year to be exact) I insured my wife and I was included as a second driver. Basically, I was advised to do so on the basis that it would be cheaper. I heard about this option before and therefore did not check it properly with this company. This time (with my daughter) this option went an opposite way with higher premiums, so I asked them whether I can exclude myself from my wife's insurance as well because my insurance allows me to drive any car, but was told: ...because you are husband and wife, by law you cannot drive her car without being included in her insurance policy whatsoever... I am suspicious about this statement now and feel that I am being cheated. Does anybody know whether this rule exist or is it just the usual salesmen lie? Thank you.""

Insurance on a cbr 600rr for a 20 year old in California?
Ive had my normal license (California) for 3 years and just got my motorcycle license. I am looking to buy a street bike, a sport bike specifically. I've looked at all the sporty bikes from 250 to 1000 and I plan on getting a 600 because I've been riding dirtbikes since I could walk so I know I'd get bored of a 250 but at the same time I know I'd kill myself on a 1000. I have a clean driving record aside from one speeding ticket(wasn't even speeding horribly) and a couple parking tickets. So what I'm ultimately trying to figure out is what the cost of my insurance would be and what insurance provider would give me the best coverage on my bike. I know I plan on getting liability since it is cheaper but any and all insight or examples would be very helpful. *people on yahoo love to hate on questions, so if you're one of those poeple, don't even comment. Driving without a license and no insurance?
I recently got pulled over in GA im from PA for driving without a license and no insurance on my car and i was sent to jail and i bailed out and i go back to court in April and i was wondering if i should waste my time on actually getting an attorney and what exactly you think they'll do to me. And is there anything i can do to go in there and fix the problem like get my license or will it show up in the DMV that i went to jail for not having one? I figured if i could go get my license and my insurance figured out maybe the charges wouldn't be so harsh. Any ideas?

Can my car insurance company do this?
I called my insurance company yesterday to get a quote for a change of vehicle as I was planning to buy a new car. They said my monthly premium would still stay the same and the quote was only valid till end of the day which is fair enough. They said they give the quote on whatever the insurance rate is at the current time so if i was to call another day it could go up but it shouldn't go up that much. So I went to view the car yesterday evening and decided to buy the car. I called my insurance company today and they said it would cost me an extra 350 to get me insured on the car. So i asked them how could it go from nothing to 350 within a day. They come out with the quote is based on the daily rate of insurance and they cant do nothing about it. I wouldn't have mind if it went up by 100 or so but from nothing to 350 in one day is a big jump. Is there anything I can do?

How can I find out what auto insurance a company has?
OK. So I use to work for this repossession company and I was hit by an idiot that ran a red light. Anyway after the accident I got a lawyer. I quit there shortly after. Well the insurance card in the tow truck was expired and not the right company . When the company switch insurance they forgot to put the new card in.. well since the drive that hit me did not have insurance the personal injury will be covered by the companies insurance. But the owner will not tell my lawyer the name of the insurance company or anything. And said your gonna have to take me to court. He is a real jerk btw. So does anyone know how I could find out online or something what company they were with at the time of the accident??
What happens if lie to your car insurance company?
So i dented my mother's car by hitting another car. i told my mother it was a hit and run and she told me she was going to have the insurance company take care of it. The dent on the car wasn't that bad but it was pretty noticeable but the car that i hit didn't have any dents, just a few scratches .So the owner of car came out and took a look at her car and she said don't worry about it and thats when she let me go. I was pretty shocked of how she handle the situation. So can the car insurance find out if I'm was lying? i told them that a scooter hit it. The dent almost looks like somebody through a rock at it. The dent doesn't really look like i drove it into a car. its a really small dent with little cracks.""

How does Progressive compare your insurance rates with top companies?
How is that possible? I've applied for Progressive quotes before (and wasn't impressed at all), but how are they able to do that? Why is my car insurance so much cheaper than other companies?
i was looking around for auto insurance to see if there was anything cheaper than what im paying now. im a 20 year old male with a 2005 scion tc. i have been driving for about 2 years and currently use state farm. when i first insured my car 2 years ago, i was paying $148/mo. due to a speeding ticket, it has risen to $194/mo. i also have comprehensive and collision with a $500 deductible. $100,000/$300,000 coverage with full glass also. not complaining, i think this is great i looked at nationwide, allstate, geico, and progressive. these companies are supposed to be so great, but progressive quoted me at $485/mo for the same coverage! the other companies where all in that general area. progressives state minimum coverage plan for me was almost $300/mo. why do these other companies cost so much more? im not complaining about mine, obviously im not gonna switch, but i am curious as to the difference in price.""

Electromagnetic wizardry: Wireless power transfer enhanced by backward signal An international research team including scientists from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and ITMO University has proposed a way to increase the efficiency of wireless power transfer over long distances and tested it with numerical simulations and experiments. To achieve this, they beamed power between two antennas, one of which was excited with a back-propagating signal of specific amplitude and phase. The study is detailed in a paper published in Physical Review Letters and briefly reported in the American Physical Society journal Physics. "The notion of a coherent absorber was introduced in a paper published back in 2010. The authors showed that wave interference can be used to control the absorption of light and electromagnetic radiation in general," recalls MIPT doctoral student Denis Baranov. "We decided to find out if other processes, such as electromagnetic wave propagation, can be controlled in the same way. We chose to work with an antenna for wireless power transfer, because this system would benefit hugely from the technology," he says. "Well, we were quite surprised to find out that power transfer can indeed be enhanced by transmitting a portion of received power from the charging battery back to the receiving antenna." Coils and transformers Wireless power transfer was originally proposed by Nikola Tesla in the late 19th century. He managed to light fluorescent and incandescent lamps from a distance without any wires connecting the lamps to a generator. To pull off this feat, he used the principle of electromagnetic induction: When an alternating current passes through a coil -- that is, a conductor wound in a spiral around a cylinder-shaped core -- this gives rise to an alternating magnetic field both inside and outside the coil. Faraday's law says that if a second coil is placed in this magnetic field (figure 1), an electric current is induced in this other coil, which can then be used for charging an accumulator or some other purpose. It may not be obvious, but wireless power transfer is already widely used. For example, unconnected induction coils are at the heart of transformers in television sets, smartphones, energy-saving lamps, power lines, etc. By increasing or decreasing the alternating voltage in the electrical grid and individual devices, transformers enable efficient power transmission and the operation of consumer electronics. Besides that, a technology analogous to that proposed by Tesla has recently been implemented in wireless charging pads for phones and electric cars. Inductive charging starts working the moment an electric car or a phone supporting the technology comes into range. As of today, however, "in range" means right on top of the charger, and that is one of the main shortcomings of the currently available technology. The problem is that the strength of the magnetic field generated by the coil in the charger is inversely proportional to the distance from it -- that is, the field fades quickly with distance. So the second coil, which is built into the device, has to be rather close for a noticeable current to be induced. That is why magnetic cores are used to confine and guide magnetic fields in transformers. And that is also why wireless chargers operate over distances less than 3-5 centimeters. That range could, of course, be enhanced by increasing the size of one of the coils or the current in it, but that would mean stronger magnetic fields potentially harmful to humans around the devices. In most countries, there is a legal limit on radiation power. For example, in Russia, the density of radiation around cell towers cannot exceed 10 microwatts per square centimeter. Transmitting power over the air There are other ways of transmitting power without wires that work over longer distances. These techniques, known as far-field energy transfer, or power beaming, use two antennas, one of which sends energy in the form of electromagnetic waves to the other, which then converts radiation into electric currents. The transmitting antenna cannot be substantially improved, because it basically just generates waves. The receiving antenna, by contrast, has much more room for improvement. Importantly, the receiving antenna does not absorb all of the incident radiation but reradiates some of it back. Generally speaking, antenna response is determined by two key parameters: the decay times τF and τw into free space radiation and into the electrical circuit, respectively. These decay times indicate how long it takes for the amplitude of a wave to be decreased by a certain factor -- usually the e number is used. The ratio between these two values determines how much of the energy carried by an incident wave is "extracted" by the receiving antenna. When the two decay times are equal a maximum amount of energy is extracted. If τF is smaller than τw, reradiation begins too early. Conversely, if τF is greater than τw, the antenna is too slow to absorb the incident radiation. When the two times are equal, engineers say that the conjugate matching condition has been met. In other words, the antenna is tuned. Although antennas are manufactured with that condition in mind, achieving absolute precision is quite difficult. Furthermore, even a perfect antenna can easily be detuned due to a change in temperature, signal reflections from the terrain, and other external factors. Finally, the amount of absorbed energy also depends on radiation frequency and is maximized for waves whose frequencies match the resonant frequency of the antenna. Importantly, the above is only true for a passive antenna. If, however, the receiver transmits an auxiliary signal back to the antenna and the signal's amplitude and phase match those of the incident wave, the two will interfere, potentially altering the proportion of extracted energy. This configuration is discussed in the paper reported in this story, which was authored by a team of researchers featuring MIPT's Denis Baranov and led by Andrea Alù. Exploiting interference to amplify waves Before implementing their proposed power transmission configuration in an experiment, the physicists theoretically estimated what improvement on a regular passive antenna it could offer. It turned out that if the conjugate matching condition is met in the first place, there is no improvement whatsoever: The antenna is perfectly tuned to begin with. However, for a detuned antenna whose decay times differ significantly -- that is, when τF is several times larger than τw, or the other way round -- the auxiliary signal has a noticeable effect. Depending on its phase and amplitude, the proportion of absorbed energy can be several times greater compared with the same detuned antenna in the passive mode. In fact, the amount of absorbed energy can get as high as that of a tuned antenna (see figure 3). To confirm their theoretical calculations, the researchers numerically modeled a 5-centimeter-long dipole antenna connected to a power source and irradiated it with 1.36-gigahertz waves. For this setup, the dependence of energy balance on signal phase and amplitude (figure 4) generally coincided with the theoretical predictions. Interestingly, the balance was maximized for a zero phase shift between the signal and the incident wave. The explanation offered by the researchers is this: In the presen?e of the auxiliary signal, the effective aperture of the antenna is enhanced, so it collects more propagating energy into the cable. This increase in aperture is evident from the Poynting vector around the antenna, which indicates the direction of electromagnetic radiation energy transfer (see figure 5). In addition to numerical simulations, the team performed an experiment with two coaxial adapters, which served as microwave antennas and were positioned 10 centimeters apart. One of the adapters radiated waves with powers around 1 milliwatt, and the other attempted to pick them up and transmit the energy into a circuit through a coaxial cable. When the frequency was set to 8 gigahertz, the adapters operated as tuned antennas, transferring power with practically no losses (figure 6a). At lower frequencies, however, the amplitude of reflected radiation increased sharply, and the adaptors functioned more like detuned antennas (figure 6b). In the latter case, the researchers managed to boost the amount of transmitted energy almost tenfold with the help of auxiliary signals. In November, a team of researchers including Denis Baranov theoretically demonstrated that a transparent material can be made to absorb most incident light, if the incoming pulse of light has the right parameters (specifically, the amplitude has to grow exponentially). Back in 2016, physicists from MIPT, ITMO University, and the University of Texas at Austin developed nanoantennas that scatter light in different directions depending on its intensity. These may be used to create ultrafast data transmission and processing channels.
