so! i am looking for anything involving modern fantasy; it doesn't have to be the focus but i prefer for it to just be there. otherwise i'm okay with any genre except apocalypse & zombies, super futuristic and military-focused rps! i am extremely creative, and if you are too, we should make a whole universe together no problem! i adore worldbuilding so never hold back your creativity - even if the idea sounds silly to you, i am sure we can bake a tasty cake from it nonetheless!

i do not do double ups, but i am down for multiple ships. what that means is that we play multiple characters, for platonic and romantic relationships, then make them interact depending on where the plot goes. in case of romantic ships, there will be time to play them out seperately depending on what we agree upon!

me watching video essays on the theory of creating horror (as in analytical theory not matpat game theory) and being like ah yes i can use this for my dnd campaign yes...

#hipp speaks #maybe i will compile all that ive learned one day cuz tbh!!#there arent that many good “how to create horror in dnd campaigns” videos out there despite how many there are #like a lot of them are lacking in terms of how to create tension and get ur players on edge #for example music is a really helpful tool and the addition (and later) subtraction of music/changes to music alone can get players on edge #but like even beyond that!!#taking away the ability to defend ones self via weapons or magic #forcing the players into situations where the only thing they can do is run or hide #and then rolling dice becomes more like the rng of a monster finding the player in a video game #introducing the idea of a monster that can appear at any time during the campaign a la resident evil 3 #AND STEAL IDEAS FROM HORROR GAMES #i feel like a lot of the horror dnd videos i watch get too caught up in trying to wrangle the 5e rules to fit into a horror narrative #when really 5e being so combat focused just CANNOT work with horror and has to be changed slightly/focus on the rp of it instead #like why do you think horror games rarely give players a gun until a mid to late game if at all #they gotta create that sense of asymmetricallity!!!!!

Nothing makes me feel immediate overpowering resentment and envy like hearing about people who have D&D campaigns that last years. Meanwhile every campaign I've ever done with my friends has choked and died four sessions in due to schedules getting too fucked and tangled to maintain ANY kind of consistent play schedule

#like i know that campaigns that run for years are extremely rare and ultimately a result of relentless determination to keep it alive #especially as adults with full lives and busy schedules #but i'm the only one in my D&D playing friend group with a fully open schedule at all times #because i'm disabled and home bound and literally cannot do anything. so I just end up feeling so fucking shitty about these campaigns dyin #the obvious answer would be for me to DM but I don't want to fucking DM!!!#I want to play my morally dubious characters with no responsibilities involving keeping the plot going beyond my own character roleplay #I have FIVE evil aligned characters sitting around that I've never gotten to play in a session that I KNOW would be so fun to rp as but ALA #not to mention my fd up teenage warlock who did manage to exist in a campaign for several months but the DM overworked themselves and quit #i am still upset about that #besides if I decided to DM a campaign it'd literally never start because I'd get hyperfocused on the minutiae of random encounters #also i already tried to wrangle schedules once before for a raid group in a video game and I am NEVER FUCKING DOING THAT AGAIN #fivertalks.txt

okay, since we’re trying to be more open about shipping, here’s what i’m looking for:

i want tsurya to fall in love with an angel or a god because he’d lose his mind and it would physically hurt him. the masochist would jump out. very angsty.

kagura needs a girlfriend. a sweet girl she can just fawn over and corrupt. bonus points if she’s human because knowing kagura, that would mess her up. lots of sexual tension and fluff.

beck needs a hate ship. or someone emotionally unavailable but still gives those tiny moments of validation. just enough to keep him guessing. we love toxicity over here.

i still want sam to fall for a human. he wouldn’t know how to act. he’d probably become obsessed and intervene in their life way too much. breaking rules, losing his post. literally possessed by his emotions because even if he can identify them, he doesn’t know how to regulate them. it’d be a mess.

*throws yaketsu out there* i don’t know yet?? but he’s fun because he’s extremely straight-forward. he does not think like a human at all, and it’s interesting to watch how he handles romantic pursuits.

people who haven’t played baldur’s gate 3 in it’s early access but who PLAN to buy it at release i really cannot express how much more interesting the story is (at least in the 1st act that we’ve had in EA) if you play a non-good character. You don’t have to be fully evil but there is so much extra content you dont see if you just go in,kill the villains, save the good guys.

#also there are a load of WAYS you can choose to be not-good and they all offer you a different experience and a different story #you can be a classic murder-hobo or you can be a backstabbing little cretin or a true evil villain #and there are so many options and paths and events you can experience in different ways depending on your flavour of evil #whereas if you play it as a good character… there might be SOME variation but it’s nothing major #nothing that really alters the way the story unfolds #there’s an ending where you TELL the good guys you’re gonna work against them #and there’s a completely SEPERATE ending where you tell them you’ll protect them but actually double-cross them #and there’s an ending where you tell them you’ll help them and then tell the bad guys you’ll help THEM and then actually you just #kill them all #and those all FEEL like seperate stories and they set you up for the rest of the game (act 2 and beyond) in very different positions #and the game also gives you like. decent justifications for making more ‘evil’ choices which is RARE #it’s rare for a game to say ‘you might only survive if you’re evil’ which obviously isn’t true but it sets that idea up #so that you can RP a character who maybe isn’t outright sadistic evil #but who is willing to do what it takes to survive #idk dude the whole thing is just. much more interesting if you allow yourself to make morally questionable choices.#my ‘hood’ playthroughs have always been much shorter/faster because. well. your path is clear.#and if you want to really dig in and see all of what the game has to offer….. you’ve gotta get away from the main path #my first play through was good #and in the bit where you break into the bad guy’s base for the final confrontation i just.#went through room by room killed everyone and was like. cool job done i guess.#COMPLETELY missed some really interesting cutscenes and RP moments that give you chances to shift the whole final arc of that plotline

The rest of my day trip to Monte d'Or after helping Henry with his... Predicament went mostly uneventful, aside from a couple of incidents that were certainly a little more than coincidence.

Little tiny whirlpool on the side of the road that swallowed up my medication when I tripped, I'm onto you and I hope a large leaf clogs your drain.

It wasn't until after I had returned home that the true wrath of the Spiral would make itself known... When I awoke to an intense feeling of vertigo. The slightest movement of my head caused my sense of balance to spin violently. Something must be in my inner ear.

Were it not for recent events, I would have just assumed that something got knocked loose inside my ear again. That happened a couple of times before.

But this was way too suspicious to be coincidental...

things i’d like to see more frequently in the wcue roleplay scene: (long post)

-sharing tongues (cats gossip in wcue like no other. but they don’t actually share tongues! this includes sharing tongues with a cat before they are buried.)

-vigils apon becoming a warrior (this is NEVER done. it’d bring a new air to the roleplay, i think!)

-elders burying cats. (usually the leader, medicine cat, or a random warrior will do in rp.)

-elders and queens in general. this includes den dads and early retired cats!

-apprentices travelling to the moonstone with the leader. (this used to happen in the early arcs. since most wcue players are only knowledgable on these arcs, this would be a great thing to pick up on doing)

-proper battle training, battles in general. (most apprentices either never recieve a mentor or only go on the occasional hunting or border patrol. battle sparring never actually includes learning new techniques most of the time!) (battles straight up do not happen. skirmishes do. Usually with rogues!)

-a more even spread of cats. Usually most of the server will flock to one clan (80%), 15% will become rogues or loners, and 5% are either non-cats or kittypets.) with the addition of more clans comes more interesting conflicts! (taking territory, battles, gatherings, tresspassers, forbidden love.) ideally in a 60 people server, there’d be 12-15 cats in each clan, or in a two-clan server, 20-30, with the rest going to outsiders/non-cats.)

-more time for deputies and leaders. A deputy in wcue is far more important than the leader in almost every way, which is NOT a good thing. a deputy should be able to appoint patrols, be able to join said patrols, and still have time to talk before they have to sleep. the leader usually has to officiate ceremonies and talk about allowing in outsiders, as well as recieve reports. leaders should be able to join patrols as well.

-apprentice’s assessments. this is, in my opinion, the least utilized aspect for app players. when a cat reaches close to warrior’s age (in wcue, this is 12 moons), the leader (or deputy) talks with the app’s mentor and haves said apprentice go on a solo hunting mission. if they bring back enouh prey, they’re granted their warrior name. usually the deputy or leader also conducts regular normal assessments to check the progress of the young cats.

-more diverse personality types. in wcue, there generally are only six personality types: charming, ‘evil’, quiet, aggressive/rude, kind, and nervous. most cats don’t go into depth beyond these core traits, and i think it would be really nice to see a more diverse cast of personalities. there’s plenty of generators online for personality types if needed!

-medicine cat apprentice appointments. just straight up- this does not happen. they have their own special moonstone ceremony! why wouldn’t you utilize that? and on second note:

-medicine cat gatherings. also straight up do not happen.

general parts of fandom changes i want to see

-the stop of use of names like ‘blindkit’ or ‘lostsight’. this is pretty obvious.

-not using overly complicated words to seem experienced! this is a big one. part of the exp/luna debate, many players like to have over-complicated names, use words people straight up don’t know, anything of the like to seem sophisticated. warriors itself does not use words like orbits or cranium. stop

-stop the hate around younger players. generally, in wcue, there’s a INSANE, and i mean INSANE hate for younger players. given a cruel nickname like ‘luna’ because it’s a common name for young kids to use, people make fun of little kids who are just learning about roleplaying. how is a kid supposed to become experienced if you’re just being cruel. instead, the least you can do is void them, or at least teach them a thing or two.

-less apprentice groups. (this is a bit nitpicky) these usually only exist because people find teenage drama interesting, but apprentice groups are pure terrors to the rp scene. they usually don’t take a mentor, refrain from training- only hunting occasionally, and are very unaware of the ongoings of the rest of the clan because of their personal interdrama. these groups will flock in around 7-10 apprentices, which insanely disrupts a clan’s balance. a apprentice friend group should be a natural thing- one that occurs from training or patrolling together, not sitting and camp and crushing on each other.

(also nitpicky) -less magic schools. i know you’re trying to roleplay harry potter. stop. don’t do that

-roblox groups dedicated to organized rps! many people don’t have discord- it’d be more accessible to younger people as well.

I don’t know if you do advice for RP but I do a lot of it so to venture my question: I’ve been roleplaying for so many years now in one specific environment. always making an OC, writing for a few years, eventually ending their story, and picking up a new OC. problem is now I’ve been doing it so long I feel like I’m out of ideas that aren’t rehashes of old characters. It feels like there’s really only four “types” you can do. Nice & sweet, smart nerd, loud bold and big, or evil/mean. Anything that could help with this??? Thanks 💙

Role Playing: Stuck in "Character Type" Rut

Hmm... you definitely seem to be stuck in a "character type" rut as there are many different personalities and archetypes beyond what you've listed here.

A few things you can try to change it up:

1 - Character Archetypes - Do a search for "character archetypes" to learn some different types of characters. While archetypes can have all different personalities, considering different archetypes can give you a fresh new foundation for the personalities you gravitate to the most.

2 - Character Traits - You can also change up favorite personalities by tweaking the specific traits a bit. For example, you can have a character who's nice and sweet but also an ambitious fashion guru. Or, you could have a character who is nerdy and smart but also old-fashioned and scatterbrained. Or, you could have someone who is evil and mean, but also artistic and emotional.

3 - Personality Generator - If you need some inspiration, there are lots of personality generators online that can give you different combinations of traits, like "honest, determined, and avoids conflict," or "creative, disloyal, kind, unintelligent."

4 - Personality Test Types - Look up MBTI types, enneagram types, or other personality test types to get some potential character models.

5 - Choose Random Traits - Another option is to consider is looking up a list of positive traits and choosing a few that jump out at you, then do the same with a list of negative traits. Just make sure everything makes sense together.

I hope the above will give you some ideas for how to venture out from your go-to character personalities!

Hi there! This is an Elevator Hitch AU blog! I realized late I should have put a little about me, but I got overslept with the initial blog release. (I am so sorry about that-)

This AU was designed and crafted by yours truly, myself. The destination arrival of floor 8 and its usual course of action is altered. This leaves the originals and doppelgangers to fight and cause some 'malfunction'. The two protagonists in the elevator fight, only for a loud snap to cease the brawling, and before it's too late, they plummet to their demise.

However, upon impact, both original and doppelganger come out unscathed. There is only darkness that leads to a large door, a fire exit in the basement level of the company. Before the two can fight to run through, in the blink of an eye, they are greeted in their new apartment complex.

Not only that, but a wash of familial bond washes over the two. A feeling they have no choice but to share. Because here at this corporation, we treat everyone as a family. Despite the comforts of home, we dive into their plans of escape, and seemingly, there is only one way out.

Into the arms of their "coworkers," who visit each night to go out drinking. Although the invitation is warm, their eyes are menacing and plotting evil intent.

A couple of rules!

I. I do allow lil magic anons / rp interactions / story liners to follow. Keeps me motivated!

ii. Common courtesy with interactions on my blog, you know what to ask and what to not ask. Suggestive is fine!

iii. I'm sure everyone is aware of Elevator Hitch when viewing my blog. Still, I will implore you that this blog has heavy themes such as gore, implied abuse, and, of course, death. This is the first and final warning.

iv. Obviously, I will try to mix in both canon and headcanon elements. Believe me, I'm not the best at it, but I try to stick to the main storyline as possible! Case in point: Protag and Antag have never learned of Normal Guy, sacrificing the rat, etc, beyond the room 8 puzzle.

v. Mun is an adult, I prefer to keep in my age group, on the rare occasion: engage with those 17-18. Nothing against minors, just keeping ya'll safe distance 👌 If you have questions about my AU, or would like to know a little more about me, my 'main' account is @justmandika.
