Note
for fandom osmosis how about six of crows (from bookcub)
Ooh you picked a good one because I haven’t read six of crows and I haven’t watched more than a few episodes of Shadow and Bone! So, what I know is that Six of Crows features some characters that appear in Shadow and Bone, including Kaz, Jesper, Inej, Wylan and uhhh some that I can’t remember the names of. I THINK Kaz and Inej are a thing?? And I think Jesper and Wylan are also a thing because initally I kept skimming posts on my dash and thinking there was a character called Wesper. God, I’m trying so hard to remember actual PLOT points I’ve seen about the books but I am blanking so hard. So, that’s about as much as I can remember about what I’ve seen of the books xD

I was tagged by @horrorgirlreads to post a selfie, which was fortuitous because I am ALSO going out this weekend 💞💕 and I like the excuse, so thank you!
(Anyway, my hair has changed colour all over again lmao).
Tagging @imscissorbladez, @violacae, @bookcub, and anyone else who wants to take a photo and then tag me! No pressure if you're not interested but an invite if you want to indulge in some vanity! 🥰

Your 10 (ish) Most Read Authors (According to Goodreads or Whatever System You Use)
I was tagged by @bookcub - thanks!
What are your ten most Most Read Authors? And how many books have you read by them? Also tag someone who you would like to do this! (Original Instructions (this option wasn't available for me): Scroll to the bottom of your shelves and most read authors is listed underneath. What I did: Exported my Goodreads library and did some Excel magic.)
Note: I only started tracking my reads in Goodreads in 2020 - these stats reflect that.
Terry Pratchett - 15 (Looks like I've read a lot of Discworld in the last few years.)
2. Martha Wells - 10 (Hello, Murderbot!)
3. Chloe Liese - 9 (This is mostly the Bergman Brothers series, which I highly recommend. Lots of neurodiversity rep.)
4. Megan Whalen Turner - 8 (Attolia, my beloved.)
4. Cat Sebastian - 8 (Lots of historical romance.)
4. K.J. Charles - 8 (More historical romance - I love that Charles and Sebastian are tied. I discovered them around the same time, and I frequently confuse them.)
5. Rainbow Rowell - 7 (Novels and She Hulk graphic novels.)
5. Gail Carriger - 7 (I discovered her books a few years ago and ran through a bunch of them, but haven't read another one in a hot minute.)
6. Sarah Andersen - 6 (Relatable comics. Also, read Fangs if you haven't yet.)
6. Olivia Atwater - 6 (Regency/Victorian faerie tales which I adore.)
6. Alisha Rai - 6 (Including one of my favorite romances: Girl Gone Viral.)
6. T. Kingfisher - 6 (Another new-to-me author I began exploring.)
6. Brigid Kemmerer - 6 (The full Cursebreakers series and a few books from other series.)
6. Holly Jackson - 6 (These are not great books, but they are addictive and twisty.)
6. Jenny Colgan - 6 (Easy, seaside, small town reads. Some of the first audiobooks I tried.)
There are 11 (!) authors tied for fifth place, so I'm not going there, but I do want to shout out Talia Hibbert and Maria V. Snyder from that list because I love them.
Tagging (no pressure, just fun!): @godzilla-reads, @brightbeautifulthings, @emspooky, @dkafterdark, @dauen, @bibliophilecats, and anyone else that would like to give this a go!

Tagged by @bigcats-birds-and-books even though we were going to do this TOGETHER
anyway! The 23 in 2023 tag was fun so lets do it again :D Here are 24 books I want to read this year, and this time I AM color coding them :3
purple - books I own
blue - ebook backlog
green - everything else
bold - carry over from the 2023 list
I'm only including books I think I'll enjoy, so none of the stack of ones I know I want to donate eventually. Good intentions only in this year of our hokage 2024
The Dragon of Jin Sayeng by KS Villoso
The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri
Legacy of Ash by Matthew Ward
Labryrinth's Heart by MA Carrick
The Faithless by CL CLark
Locklands by Robert Jackson Bennet
Among Thieves by MJ Kuhn
Starling House by Alix E Harrow
The Art of Prophecy by Wesley Chu
Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor
Witch King by Martha Wells
City of Bones by Martha Wells
Painted Devils by Margaret Owen
Gaurdians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky
Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee
Sword of Kaigen by ML Wang
Once and Future by AR Capetta
The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickenson
System Collapse by Martha Wells
The Archive Undying by Emma Mieko Candon
The Hollow Places by T Kingfisher
Servant Mage by Kate Elliott
The Hourglass Throne by KD Edwards
In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan
There we go! Somehow a lot harder than last year, probably because I'm running out of books on my shelf I haven't read, so I guess that's a good thing. Once again, this will be deleted if I don't read any of them have a wonderful year <3

inspired by @wearethekat's listchallenge, i've created my own checklist of books i've looked at in 2023, rounding it up to a good 70. can't wait to check on this list in a year's time <3
i've also done a couple of others around tumblr and i'll link them under the cut. each list seems to say a lot about their respective readers and i've filled my TBR with books they recommended.
MAIN GENRES OF 2023: queer, science fiction, fantasy, urban fantasy, BIPOC, neurodivergence
READING GOALS FOR 2024: read more for, from, and about BIPOC. i need to diversify my reading list more.
@wearethekat's How Many of Kat's 2023 Books Have You Also Read? - 4/242 books
@bookcub's Goose Girl Era - 1/24 books
@bookcub's All the Bi/Pan Books I've Read or Want to Read - 4/68 books
@ninja-muse's Scattered 2022 Reading List - 4/138 books
@linus-wickworth's Ben's 2022 Reading Wrap-Up - 11/123 books
@readsofawe's Recommendations - 3/181 books
@ofliterarynature's Books of 2023 - 10/174 books
