I'm spending this weekend deep cleaning my room. It's been so long since my room has been together and peaceful.

I've had a cluster of baskets of laundry blocking my dresser for like a year that I've piled a bunch of other junk on top of. It's embarrassing. I washed sooo much laundry tonight.

Tomorrow I'm going to clean out my closet and drawers and donate stuff. I think the fact that I went about a year without accessing like 2/3 of my clothes in the buried baskets and my drawers is proof that I have too much clothing.

With my bed, bookcase, desk, and dresser there's not even enough space to lay on the floor and I've just let half of that small space be full of laundry. For way way too long. Mento illness, baybee.

Good news is I bought some William Morris prints and frames for them. I would have liked the frames in gold or a wood tone but they were way more expensive. If I hate the black I might paint them gold myself.

just finished the last step of decluttering my room 💪why did i have so much stuff 💪

#i started this project like #3 weeks ago? #all i wanted was a spot to put new books because of the b&n opening up in town #and that lead to me spending... so much time in clearing out cluttered spaces #and so much money in getting another bookshelf AND a more functional dresser AND a hamper/hanging rack #my sister got my old one its not broken it was just literally collecting dust and junk in the corner. i wasnt using it #new dresser will be coming in this week so i had to get it done #i took out...... maybe 5? 6? full trashbags of just stuff i didnt need and clothes i never wore #i found things from a decade ago. theyre gone now #spring cleaning came early i guess #i dont know if ive got hoarding tendacies or if i just. put things in boxes and forgot about them. but i gotta do better about that #ANYWAY my room is clean now and ive done minimal rearranging but the stuff i did move has made A Difference #this is both better for my brain and better for when we move out in the ??? future #less stuff to sort and pack

he corners you to do this shit all. the. fucking. time. maybe he went outside to get the mail and when he comes back in, you’re in the kitchen. he presses you against the counter and puts his arms on either side of you and has that fucking look on his face. he just looks at you, never breaking eye contact—and he’s so good at eye contact it makes you sweat—and he waits.

you scan his face: the soft creases in his forehead and between his brows, the slit in the one eyebrow where the hair is starting to grow back because he hasn’t touched it up recently, his freckles, his pretty nose, and eventually you make it down to his lips, and that’s when you give in. your fingers slip into his hair and yank him towards you, and he’s laughing. god, he’s laughing into the kiss because he’s won. he got what he wanted. you. and you pull him back by his hair (which he likes), and he’s got that stupid ass grin and all you wanna do is kiss it off.

bonus thought: the time you don’t give in. he’s got you right where he wants you and he’s waiting and waiting. you keep looking at him, but this time you don’t feel like playing his game. so you turn to walk away and he pouts. he’s grumpy because you haven’t kissed him and so he catches your wrist before you go, pulling you into his chest and pressing his lips to yours, both hands on your face. that time it’s you with the stupid ass grin.

In good news, the cold medicine seems to have finally kicked in so I’m no longer falling asleep at my laptop. In bad news, the antihistamine-induced cleaning urge has also kicked in so I’m no longer falling asleep at my laptop in part because I have rearranged 75% of the furniture in my apartment

I've talked before about how I think it's funny that so many of my f/os are associated with reds (or pinks) and/or greens. But it only just occurred to me that that's probably connected to earth tones (especially reds and greens, but also brown/black) being my favorite colors for things to be. Like my bedsheets and plant pots and furniture and random decorative items are mostly reds and greens (+brown). Fucking of course I'd also be drawn to characters who are those colors. Whatever.
