okayyyyyy so i finally finished watching the new ep of boruto. it kinda felt structured different than normal episodes ig bc of the thing with the ending. i liked the novelty of it fuck my brain is mush i'm so sick. i have to admit i had a bit of a fanboy moment when eida spoke. her voice is perfect for the character i think it's kinda ethereal idk. god i'm kinda happy to have boruto back the filler arc was torture i hated all of it now i finally have something to look forward to on sunday again. also this arc is so wild i am hyped to see it animated i've been waiting for this for eons.

other than that it wasn't too exciting it was just setting the tone and shit or whatever. uhhhh naruto's face. his fucking FACE JESUS WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO MY SON HE WAS FINE NOW HE HAS EVERY DISEASE. I’M JUST A MESS BC THE NARRATIVE IS FINALLY EXPLICITLY ACKNOWLEDGING HIS CRUSH ON BORUTO. SOMEONE FINALLY CALLED HIS ASS OUT ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAY. PEOPLE. EXIST. 

his reaction really caught my attention tho. it perplexes me. he has almost no reaction. no denial, no shame. but no emotion whatsoever. i guess it’s in character but it still sits with me weird. he’s finally been explicitly called out on his simping and he just. doesn’t react. it’s a lil. anticlimactic. but i also paid particular notice to how he seems to be trying to understand his own feelings when he’s talking about sarada’s true feelings. love that for him.

i just think it’s interesting that the hitai-ate was brought up in the queer people chapter of boruto for... seemingly no reason. why is this here? juxtaposed next to a bunch of queer shit? it’s an “important... memento” (of sns’s very, very bisexual obsession with each other) i hate it that boruto keeps trying to give it back to sasuke tho it’s like you DUMBASS LIL BABEY BOY. HE IS PASSING THE TORCH TO YOU. HE IS GIVING YOU A SYMBOL OF HIS DEEP AND UNDYING LOVE OF YOUR FATHER WILL YOU JUST STFU AND TAKE IT!? but also it makes me kinda sad... like does he not want it anymore bc their ship has sailed and he doesn’t want to hold onto mementos of their love? is he still mad that naruto is married with kids??? poor lil meow meow.
