You know, something I've been thinking about since my time at the Back to the Musical World 4 convention was my one-on-one with Dan Payne (Beast). I'd overslept so I missed my original time but the convention was nice enough to find time for me to make it up and Dan even asked them to let us go over the three minutes the one-on-ones usually went.

Anyway, in between asking him what Beast's name would be if he was naming Beast (since you know, it's not like Beast's parents just named him Beast--and for the record, Dan says Beast's name is Adam. He even referenced the comic that states Beast's name is Adam which Disney had stated was non-canonical. Ergo, Beast's name shall henceforth be Adam!) and talking about our favorite songs on the soundtrack, we got to talking about D3. I had mentioned that it was a shame Kenny Ortega couldn't make it to the convention because one thing I wanted to ask him was how Maleficent was able to get Hades to cheat on Persephone with her.

You know what Dan said? That was the first time someone had pointed that out to him, that Hades was with Persephone.

Meaning no one asked that during the script read, the round table, or even during rehearsals.

I get D3 was a DCOM movie but still! There wasn't one Greek Mythology nerd among that production?

Thinking about how in pjo leah and walker were working together and he somehow got a haircare routine so his hair went from no definition to a curly baby to the end of the season.

And if Julie and The Phantoms hasn't been canceled, it'd be funny as hell if Madi, as a developing teen, ended up giving us a Julie with different hairstyles — as her hair wasn't so defined in the first season, which is okay, she doesnt own anyone a certain kind of hair. — such as the shoulder length curly, the straight curly, the curly with more definition(like she was wearing on megacon) , the long straight (from bttmw). Ugh. She looking flawless for no reason except being beautiful. Jadah also getting to change her hairstyle bc as she should, and Flynn having goddess braids!!!!

oh righ, and charlie probably wouldn't grow the hair (or would. God knows what kenny intended for the ghost rules) but imagine Luke getting a curly hair that definitely came from a haircare routine and his hair doesn't look so loose as it does in the first season. (Which again not a bad thing.)

Going into BTTMW 2, I mostly expected for us to be told the ending of Jatp just to get the full sense of closure. But to hear that like there’s wasn’t a particular ending that was shared, just everyone’s thoughts of what ending could have been it’s… more so bittersweet in a good way.

What is great about no second season is that, it’s open ended in a way. Yes, that cliffhanger ending is our technical “ending” but… it opens so many doors to what could have been. All the fan content that’s out there, it’s not incorrect, like our version of Jatp isn’t incorrect.

With most fandoms (at least my experience being them), most of the fan content that’s out there is like “fixing” things in the source material so that it’s better in our minds (a good old “the fans know the characters better than the writers”). But with Jatp, that’s not there, like majority of the content is just like “continuing from where it was left off”. Continuing on with the friendships and dynamics that were already established.

As nice as it would be have this sense of closure (especially given how up in the air a renewal was for over a year of waiting to get the news we got… closure would have at least softened that in hindsight) and know what ending was planned, it’s nice that it’s up to interpretation.

The last canon thing we have that it ended on was the boys still being with Julie and being able to be physically touched now or at least for the time being, that’s all I need. (For arguments sake, they find a way to get Nick unpossessed I believe in them or he probably was just like that for one episode given how the show was with treating the ‘conflict’ of that episode is that it stayed within that one episode) bc Our phantoms are still with Julie because they’re her phantoms and they’ll always be hers. It’s bittersweet to have but we have it and it’s what we got :)

Is there going to be a June dreamitcon in Paris this year? Or is that scrapped?

as far as i know, the next con that is happening through dreamit is the back to the musical world (aka bttmw or the kennedy ortega con) which is happening in paris in person in december of this year. pretty sure the june one is not happening because there would have been announcements by now.
