About me

ok, so I figure it was finally time for me to make one of these since i’ve been here for a bit and I hate how disorganized tumblr is. Hi, I’m Nadia, I’m 19, and this is my CNCO blog. I’m a mixed black muslim bisexual who uses they/them pronouns and I’m studying law. Other random facts about me are I box, make my own clothes, paddleboard, and love dogs. My aesthetic is all over the place and so is my brain so while typing this out i decided to make a moodboard that’s ✨my aesthetic✨ so here lol:

so what will you find on this blog?

Primarily, CNCO. This is a side blog so I tend to stay pretty on brand with the content I post. I tend to answer asks here, be it about fandom tea or random stuff relating to the boys, but when inspiration strikes I’ll write fics, make moodboards, or even pull together random uquizzes and zodiac interpretations no one asked for. I host a lot of events on here too like to celebrate their albums or band anniversaries, so stay tuned for that as well. As you can see we do a little bit of everything here, so feel free to stop by for a chat whenever.

personally, I don’t feel comfortable with minors interacting with any explicit content on my blog. I tag it that way for people to be able to blacklist these posts (including adults who don’t want to see them). I know minors look at this content anyway, I’m not dumb, but this gives them the opportunity to be responsible without me having to make this whole blog nsfw, andit also provides a clear warning. Minors I find repeatedly interacting with my NSFW posts are getting blocked. You’re violating my consent and disrespecting the rules I put in place on my blog, and I don’t want you around if you cant understand that.

my inbox is almost always full and it takes me a while to get to stuff! I will though, i promise, and if it takes a while maybe resend it since tumblr doesn’t like to work sometimes.

A couple. First, something light. info about me is in my ‘#about me’ tag, and if you care what i look like check the ‘#my face’ tag, I tend to delete those every now and then so you might not find anything.

Secondly, more heavy. Like most active cnco blogs, I’ve dealt with my fair share of “anon” hate. Most of the time, I can figure out who you are pretty easily. Yall aint slick at allll, and I am more than happy to expose anyone who thinks online bullying is okay. casual reminder, using racial and homophobic slurs is not cute. I will not tolerate it, you’ll be blocked. the fact people think this is ok to do over a BOYBAND of all things? tragic.

And finally, since this will now be my permanent pinned post, any events I host or new things I write will be linked in a reblog of this post and pinned, rather than pinning the actual post with it. *Important FAQ*

Aka questions that pertain to what I usually post about or stuff I don’t like getting asks about but continue to get asks about regardless.

I’m Ghanaian American. My parents were born in Ghana and I was born here in the US. I’ve seen it more on twitter and tumblr, but Black Africans don’t like me because I’m American, and black Americans don’t like me because I’m African. So I’m stuck in the middle lmao. I’m what you’d consider a First-Generation African, my parents are Continental Africans, and if I have children, they will be considered Generational African Americans.

First Generation African: A black person born in the US to parents who were born in Africa

Generational African American: A black person born in the US to US-born black parent(s)

Continental African: A black person born in Africa to parents who were also born in Africa

Non is just a prefix, black people don’t have a monopoly on the term! I suppose you think nonbinary people are racist huh?

Yeah sure it wasnt coined by black people but the context it’s currently used as was predominantly used by black people. ALL people who are not black benefit from and contribute to antiblackness, even if they are marginalized themselves. That kind of dynamic doesnt exist in other contexts (unless we’re talking about transfem + transmisogyny, but that’s something you’d have to talk to someone who is transfem about. Plus they have their own word for “non-transfem”). Using it in contexts outside of antiblackness is appropriative (Yall are annoying as fuck with the “non-aspec” “non-lesbian”(this term also has anti-bi roots btw) “non-bi” shit etc, stop it. You also can’t complain about the “replacement terms” lumping yall with oppressors when “non-x” does the exact same thing you’re so worried about. “Cis” puts cis gays with cis hets, cis disabled people with cis abled people, cis white people with cis poc, I could go on.)

Plus we’re talking about marginalized groups here. Black people are a marginalized group. Binary people as a whole are not so the term nonbinary isn’t appropriate at all. I dont take issue with terms like “nonamerican” or “nonwhite” because (obviously) whites + americans as a whole aren’t oppressed for being white or american.

Basically using "non-x” in contexts to talk about oppression bad, everything else good.

Follow up: If we can’t use non-[marginalized group], what can we use instead?

There are other words to describe the people you’re talking about

non-transfem- TME

non-LGBT- cishet, or people who aren’t LGBT

non-trans - cis

Black people don’t have a monopoly on the acronym nb! I’ll call myself nb if I want to!

At this point I dont really care, go on your antiblack crusade elsewhere and out of my inbox, I’m always gonna mean nonblack when I use the acronym nb.

And yes, you’re antiblack as fuck if you think black people telling you “nb” stands for “nonblack” is the same as exclusionists claiming “aspec” is for autistic people.

Is x AAVE?

I have a tag dedicated to what is and is not aave and how harmful it is for nonblacks to use aave given its history. I know some things overlap with southern culture but others are specifically for black people. A lot of “stan twitter” language/slang is just repackaged AAVE. No, I can’t tell you how to stop using AAVE. Don’t tell me you’re going to try to stop using AAVE, I don’t want to hear it.

Why don’t you like the n-word being compared to LGBT slurs?

Race and Sexuality/Gender aren’t comparable topics because each deals with a different history of oppression. I don’t care about slur discourse that much because I don’t even use/reclaim any myself except the n-word.

I have a problem with nonblack LGBT people co-opting black culture and struggle(like they always do), especially for trivial online discourse.

And to be honest it goes deeper than slur discourse. Every other day someone is weaponizing the oppression of black trans women, or comparing “cishet aces/aros” in the LGBT community to white/nonblack people invading black spaces (you know, something that ACTUALLY takes resources away from the people who need it, see the cultural appropriation of Black African and Blac American culture in literally any nonblack community while black people get demonized for said culture), or tokenizing their black friends to get away with something blatantly racist. And that’s not even getting into how a lot of gay slang/stan culture is just repurposed AAVE/black culture.

And I’m not gonna lie, I’ve seen this more with exclusionist accounts than inclus accounts, but it’s still not excusable for inclus to do that either. We get erased as black gay/trans/queer/aspec people up until it’s time for discourse accounts to bring us up to one-up each other

Can you give me advice on x?

Most likely not, because I’m not an expert or an advice blog. I’ll try, but don't take my word for it. I’m also tme, able-bodied, not Jewish, singlet, etc, so I’m not able to accurately answer questions about transmisogyny, (physical?) ableism, antisemitism, “sycourse”, etc.

I might be able to give advice on school-related stuff since I just graduated high school, but remember that students are not a monolith, and what worked for me may not work for someone else.

Can I follow if I’m nonblack/a minor/cishet?

Nonblack and/or cishet can follow but watch your step, minors blacklist the #minors dni tag before following

Why do you hate Ao3?

*long sigh*

I don't, I have a problem with the fact that it allows racist and (frankly voyeuristic) pedophilic/abusive/incestuous content to exist on its platform. It’s a good concept overall, but the devs are complicit in allowing “underage” and “noncon/dubcon” fics on their platform.

And there's the fact that they somehow need donations every year despite exceeding their goal several times over each year?

What’s wrong with Hazbin Hotel/The Ships/Vivziepop?

[WIP, as I have to go into extensive detail about this and I currently don’t have the energy for it]

TLDR: Viv made a half-assed apology for supporting racists (one of whom did blackface [yes the mask was used to do blackface shut up] to mock black activist) and drawing gross content. Her current projects including Hazbin Hotel are full of anti-gay/trans/aspec (Angel Dust, Vaggie, Alastor), antisemetic (Mimzy), and racist (Vaggie again, that yellow cyclops character that I’ve forgotten the name of) content under the guise of humor. If you’re into that shit, whatever, just don’t follow me and don’t whine when I make posts criticizing it.

What’s wrong with Hamilton?

Aside from the fact that it’s very obviously glorifying slave owners and made people worldwide believe the founding fathers were good people, LMM, the creator, is nonblack. This isn't his story to tell at all.

Can you tag x?

I have a list of things I usually tag because they come upon this blog a lot. I cannot do catch all tags, as I have way too many followers for that. The closest thing to that is the “ask to tag” tag when there’s something potentially triggering but I’m not sure what it is. Everything is tagged as “x tw”. If something is extremely triggering, I’ll tag it as “major tw”

Do you tag slurs?

I tag slurs I’m not able to reclaim at all (i.e., d slur, f slur, t slur) or slurs I can reclaim but are being used as a slurs. I don’t tag the n-word, as I reclaim that one. I always tag the r slur

Can I message you about something/someone?

Unless you’re a mutual, most likely no. My DMs are only open to mutuals.

Do you want to be mutuals?

I don’t usually follow back people who follow me, especially if you’re under 16 or post things I’m not interested in.

Why is it important to have byf or about?

1) So I know gross people aren’t following me. This is not up for discussion

2) So I know someone’s not speaking out of their lane, which tends to happen a lot. (i.e, someone refusing to disclose that they are tme when discussing transmisogyny, someone not having their race listed when discussing racism)

3) Some people don’t want to interact with people under 18 or over like 30 or something.

Yeah, yeah, people aren’t entitled to personal information and all that crap but I have a serious problem with people speaking on topics from a place of privilege. Not to say they can’t talk about those things, just perhaps add a disclaimer that you’re privileged when talking about these things and be open to criticism, and NOT blocking people of the said marginalized group when they tell you something you’ve said was problematic.

I also have a problem with people who are intentionally vague about their age. There’s a difference between interacting with someone who’s 20 and someone who’s 29. I don’t want to say it’s the opposite for minors but at the same time there’s a difference for saying something racist at 13 and doing so at 17, and keeping your age vague makes it harder to determine how to deal with something like that. (Not that 13-year-olds shouldn’t know better, it’s just I don’t feel whole ass callout posts and receipt blogs are necessary for someone of that age).

Also anyone under 16, I can't stop you from following, but keep your interaction limited, please. This isnt an 18+ blog but I do rb suggestive jokes from time to time

There's drama surrounding rpf in the fandom?! Yall I'm so not involved in this kind of stuff. Rightfully so.

But honestly, I don't give a flying fuck. Read what you want to read. Write what you want to write. Or don't. It does not affect your life in the slightest if so and so writes rpf. If you don't fuck with that then don't read it.

I've never read rpf until I saw @wildxwired wrote an Emmy one for today so I read a bit but couldn't get into it so I stopped reading. No disrespect on the writing or any of that cause they know I love their writing! But you see what I did? I just stopped reading and left the link. I don't send hate. I don't send hate anonymously. We all love Schitt's Creek and the message Dan spreads on love. So follow that. Stop sending hate. If you don't like reading that kind of story then don't fucking read it.

The Poll Results!

Alright folks, now that the poll is closed, let’s go over the results and what that means for the future!

Question One

So, this was me basically asking: should I wait until I’ve written a decent amount of the story to start uploading chapters and set up a regular upload schedule, or say FUCK a schedule and just upload whenever I finish a chapter? This was what yall answered:

19 Votes for a regular upload schedule, and 11 votes for no schedule.

So, while I will try to get chapters written and posted as fast as possible, it’s gonna be a little bit before I start putting them out! Right now, I'm thinking a schedule of maybe two chapters a week, but I’ll wait until I start posting to say for sure.

Question Two

This was me simply asking, how long do you want the chapters to be? This was what yall gave back:

4 Votes for about 2000 words per chapter, 2 Votes for about 3000 words per chapter, 1 Vote for 4000+ words per chapter, 2 Votes for “just write the damn fic”, and 21 Votes for “that last option but nicer”.

First of all, to the two people who literally just chose to be mean to me: Alright, sluts, just because I gave you the option,

Fr tho- this was an interesting one! Seeing as most of you don’t care, I figure I’ll do my best to keep the chapters between 2000-3000 words, but I won't worry too much about the length.

Question Three

For this one, I asked if you want me to keep posting stuff about the universe in the AU, or stop and just keep everything in the fic. You answered:

26 Votes for more worldbuilding posts, and 4 Votes for them to stop.

Now, even though the majority of you want to see those posts, I don’t want the rest of you to feel like I’m ignoring your wishes. I also understand wanting to be totally immersed in the main story. Therefore, I’ve decided that I’m gonna start tagging every out-of-story worldbuilding post with “aa worldbuilding”. Those of you who don’t want to see those posts can blacklist the tag, and you won’t see any of them!

Question Four

This one was an extension of the last question- if I’m gonna keep making worldbuilding posts, what topics should I cover? A few of you gave me replies to this one! These included:

“The living conditions for children!!! how are they raised in this Weird Radioactive Hellscape, and how do they survive to adulthood?”

“Maybe things like environmental conditions, animal/plant life used by survivors, and stuff like that.”

“I’m super interested in the guard things”

“Law, and what the landscape is like, and the cause of the apocalypse”

“Maybe the environment and a little bit of enemies”

“Travel/transportation; sports/competitions; other notable figures in the land”

“Steven Universe”

“the mutated beasts bruh”

I took most of these answers into consideration! I definitely plan on covering these topics in future posts, so thanks for the feedback :)

Question Five

This question was just like question three, except asking if I should post about the characters themselves. This is how you all replied:

For those that answered no- similarly to the worldbuilding posts, I’ve decided to make a tag for these! All character-building posts will be tagged with “aa characterbuilding”. I don’t plan to put anything spoiler-y in these, aside from maybe some vague foreshadowing, but again I understand wanting to be especially immersed in the written story.

I also took the custom answers into consideration as well! Don’t worry, I don’t plan on making a post about anything heavily plot-related. If I post about things like abilities, Guards, etc., I’ll only include information that isn’t directly related to the plot. I do think that I’ll save some topics for later down the line, when they’ve already come into play, to avoid any minor spoilers.

Question Six

Like question four, this one was an extension question, asking what character topics I should cover. These responses included:

“All of those things you've listed and maybe a bit of background as to how people met.”

Again, I took most of these answers into careful consideration! I think general hc’s will be a good post to make in the near future. I’ll also make sure to cover combat styles, Guards, and more details about their backstories as well!

Again, thanks to everyone who responded! This was super helpful, and I’m really glad I’ll be able to go ahead with this project with yall’s interests in mind. :)

it’s not our job to keep others safe, but we will tag things like triggers if we are asked to and we do our best to tag things like common triggers. it isnt our fault if you don’t use the blacklist, it isnt our job to become ideal role models.

we are not interacting with you, you are interacting with us. we don’t know who our posts will reach (mostly bkdks, i hope) but you know that you will be talking to us. we’re asking you to not trigger anyone when you talk to us. but you get that? you’re talking to us. we aren’t actively talking to anyone besides the asks we answer.

of course we have the decency to tag our stuff but that doesnt make us responsible for everything. they way you’re coming off it seems like you’re blaming us for everything, which is pretty dumb lol

i dont get the purpose of the ask, either since

trigger warnings are a way of keeping other people safe on the internet what the fuck

is true lol. either way:

its your choice to log on as much as it is ours, and of course not everyone has the decency to listen to other’s triggers, but we’re expecting you (and a lot of others are too) to respect other people’s triggers (i know we do, if we’re asked to we’ll tag things). it isnt hard

and even then, those things aren't mutually exclusivei encourage people to tag content warnings and i believe it's the right thing to do in regards to potentially graphic content but not everyone does it nor can we expect everyone to tag things. it's just a considerate thing to do. asking people not to be a dick in our askbox and consider our triggers is the most we can do. likewise, there's nothing stopping you from not doing this but you'll just look like an asshole

I think I was confused but I understand now? If you want a signature to be a custom tag, please simply add a hastag to it! You could even have the same signature and hastag at the same time, provided you poke on a hastag for the custom tag!

So if you start using an old signature for new customtag, that would be fine! Just provided it's not a blog url, slur, commonly used tag to avoid tag clutter, etc! I mean you already read the page, I don't have to repeat it fur you! x3

yall are reaching a lot. my closet has clothes from a lot of my friends, from my sister, even a hand-me-down shirt from my dad that i wear once in a while. imo misha finds it embarrassing/funny that ppl have realised that he's wearing jensen's hand-me-downs. i mean, he's not the most fashion-forward person & i bet he's had a lot of ripping for his shirts with holes in them etc. it's a fun anecdote, so obvs he's gonna cycle it through at cons. i really dont see anything else in it.

It’s fine not to agree, Anon. You personally do not have to see anything else in the clothes sharing. I’m currently wearing a shirt from my boss, who routinely brings things into work when she’s done with them and offers them to the office. If you browse my full “clothes sharing” tag you will see that I’ve made this point before and that I agree with you that the act itself isn’t suspicious (though it suggests a degree of closeness). My point has been that I found the response to the whole thing a little much, in a kind of “lady doth protest too much” way. It seems to get Misha anxious in a way that not a lot of other things do. I even made your same point about how they re-use anecdotes at conventions, e.g. “look at me!” and the plane fart story, but remarked on how those were different from this case. If you really care enough, you can browse the tag and see my other comments and analyses.

Fundamentally, though, if you don’t agree or don’t like this kind of content this may not be the blog for you. I revel in squeeing and theorizing over it when Jensen and Misha practically breathe the same air. I do also believe there’s something deeper and more serious between them, which I have other posts about. If you like other stuff here you can blacklist either “cockles” or “rps for ts” or both because I use them for exactly that reason. I am not out to convert or convince anyone. I’m only here for my own amusement and if you happen to share it, well, great! Disagreements are fine, but I suggest that you just blacklist or scroll past what you don’t like because an anonymous note isn’t going to change my mind or cause me to stop posting about Cockles. It’s up to you to curate your own Tumblr experience to be something you enjoy. I hope you do and wish you all the best.

But I can’t resist adding one final thing: many naysayers said exactly what you just did about “reaching” when we suggested Jensen and Misha were wearing the same items of clothing. And then it turned out they were. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

so i said i wasn’t going to make any more out of character posts on ontari. which i’m trying to stick to even though i have like pages of shit i want to say already and i decided on this like less than twenty four hours. but i thought it was important to write at least one explaining at least why i find most of these whole the fandom hates the other half of the fandom shit and complaints the dumbest thing since drama in middle school. and here’s the breakdown as to why. a. this is the motherfucking internet. what does that mean ? it means we’re on the fucking internet which if ya’ll haven’t noticed tends to make people more comfortable with speaking their minds which by the way isn’t a bad thing. the way we fix problems is talking, not huddling up with people who think the same way we do and telling the other side they’re wrong. this isn’t world war iii. you can talk to someone about it. you realize that basically what we’re doing right now is creating partisanship in a fandom because ya’ll don’t wanna talk. the whole positivity movement while ( well founded ) is based on the idea hat we need to be nicer to each other in order to balance out the hate in the fandom. and the no hate movement ( while also well founded ) is based on the idea that people should put being kind above speaking their mind. neither of which i personally agree with. instead of getting mad at someone for hating one another part of the fandom why don’t you ask a better question:

why are they doing it ?

why is a person hating on, calling out, being salty over certain things. because more often than not in this fandom, there’s a fucking point to why they’re acting that way and instead of being like: yo don’t hate that’s wrong. without listening to their opinion and trying to wash it out by praising everyone or just telling them to not do something like it. maybe we should try to fix the problem instead. some things make some muns uncomfortable, while other things make other muns comfortable, which is why the roleplaying community invested this beautiful thing called the tagging system in which when someone posts something they can tag it with trigger cw or trigger tw and you can blacklist said thing allowing you to follow someone without having to worry about having to see this thing on your dash. which is a great first step in fixing it. but then you get to people like me personally who feel like there shouldn’t be a need to tag certain things and just don’t use tags. so how do you deal with someone like that ? the answers simple: you unfollow them. if you don’t like the content that someone is posting then unfollow them. even if you want to write with them, unfollow them. i know that i personally state that ontari is a private selective ( which means i only write with mutuals ) blog, but i’ve made various exceptions time and time again because i do like writing with people i don’t follow and sometimes i don’t follow them because their ooc stuff pisses me off on occasion and i don’t agree with them, and sometimes it’s just because i don’t follow multis. like there is no reason in which you would need to continue following and seeing content you don’t want in this fandom. there’s been waves of hate i’ve had friends come ask me about because they just don’t follow the people that it involves and they heard about it from someone who’d heard about it.

but this also dosen’t solve the issue, rather it simply prevents confrontation. which is just now how you’re supposed to handle shit people. so calling myself out, i’ve been hating on the new kru’s a lot. and i’ve explained why because i don’t like being told that im hating on things for no reason. because i don’t condone hating things for no reason. if you’re going to dislike something you better have a good goddamn reason. i made a post about this because i wanted to be clear and let people know, i don’t think the idea itself was a bad one. i’m all for creativity and spreading it but you need to understand that unless things in that post were met, i wasn’t going to jump on the bandwagon and think things were cool. i talked about it. i explained why i disliked what was happening and was shittalking about it and people talked back. muns from more than one of the new krus approached me and were like oh hey i may not have that information posted but you can always ask me bc i have it hced or asked me if they could use the thing as a way to develop their kru more. and now i’m chill with those krus, because now i can see them in a way i didn’t before. and i think that’s the main issue in the fandom right now, there’s a huge lack of communication because everyone feels like they can’t.

and i’m not saying i’m great bc im not. i talk shit behind people’s back and am chismosa af. but it’s because of the lack of communication in the fandom. if i feel comfortable around you. i’m not going to shitpost about something, i’m going to go straight to your face and tell you that i think you’re wrong ( also yeah i hate anon hate like ??? be an adult pls ). and what i expect is not for you to get offended but to be like bitch no you’re wrong when i’m confronting you about your character i want you to prove me wrong. when i’m confronting you about your behavior i want to see and hear your point of view so that even if i don’t agree afterwards i can understand and we can still be friends. thing is... if you play victim, and have a protection squad that rises to your defence every time someone says “um no i think that’s wrong” and they’re chanting about how you can’t say that because its “hate” then i’m not going to feel comfortable coming to ell you shit. ad the whole system of division and isolation in the community is going to continue.

so me being me: i’m not going to apologize for not taking an anti-hate pledge, why ? bcause think the whole idea of not being able to tell someone you think what they’re doing is wrong is horrible. hey if someone was doing a wwii au with like blatant disrespect for the holocaust i think we’d all get up in arms no ? but if we’re going to start calling telling people that “hey i think that’s disrespectful” hate. then no. i refuse to make a pledge. because i’m going to say what i think. and i’m not going to apologize for not jumping on the positivity train because as awesome as i think sending people love is, i think the fandom needs to fucking fix its shit before we go around playing fairy god mother and pretending that everything is okay. you know what happens when people pretend shit is okay, yall remember the recession ? there’s a fucking bubble int he fandom rn and if we don’t pay attention to it soon, it’s going to fucking explode and ya’ll are going to start crying over it which you have no right to do because you never addressed the problem.

so this is a fuckin call out post at all of you:

START TALKING TO PEOPLE ABOUT SHIT YOU DON’T LIKE OR AGREE WITH. and even better DON’T TELL SOMEONE THEY’RE HATING ON YOU WHEN THEY COME TO YOUR FACE TO DISCUSS SMTH.
