Summary:

Constantly outperformed by the girls' club, the boys' soft tennis club faces disbandment due to their poor skills and lack of positive results in matches. In desperate need of members, Toma Shinjou is looking to recruit capable players, but he fails to scout anyone. Enter Maki Katsuragi, a new transfer student who demonstrates great reflexes when he catches a stray cat in his classroom, instantly capturing Toma's attention. With his interest piqued, Toma ambitiously asks Maki to join the boys' team but is quickly rejected, as Maki doesn't wish to join any clubs. Toma refuses to back down and ends up persuading Maki—only under the condition that Toma will pay him for his participation and cover other club expenses.

As Maki joins the team, his incredible form and quick learning allow him to immediately outshine the rest of the team. Although this gives rise to conflict among the boys, Maki challenges and pushes his fellow team members to not only keep up with his seemingly natural talent, but also drive them to devote themselves to the game they once neglected.

Propaganda 1:

Covers a wide variety of issues and gets into the nitty-gritty of the often under-prosecuted instances of child abuse in Japanese society. Multiple LGBT characters, subversions of gender roles, a simple but appealing art style, and some really talented seiyuu to top it all off.

Propaganda 2:

This series is so amazing even though it was cut halfway through (and the trigger warnings, mainly in regard to the environments many of the characters live in) make it difficult to suggest at times. It’s half a sports anime and half a drama, switching between the sports sections and explorations of the lives of the characters involved, the latter of which is the part I really adore. The story discusses the heavily discussed topic of abuse pretty well and also has a good handle on discussions about things like gender (specifically in regard to a canon non-binary character, though there is also a minor character who is a trans man who is also discussed) that I haven’t seen too many other series address, or at least not to the effectiveness of this story. The characters also just have so much charm and compliment each other well, and I love watching them get closer and interact. They’re buddies, and I adore the boys soft tennis team plus Yuu and Mitsue (+ Arashi I guess. He’s from a different school’s team and directly opposed the team, but he very quickly becomes their friend afterwards), as well as all of their dynamics. It’s not a watch for when you’re looking strictly to have a fun time or looking for a complete story, but it’s an amazing story regardless. Also, I love the opening and ending songs so much. I wish this series got its season two so much because it’s so good, I don’t think I did it justice at all.

Trigger Warnings:

Child abuse: Most of the cast is from an abusive household, including mcs.

Domestic abuse: Off-screen/implied, parent of a main character.

Gender/sexuality discrimination: From a parent to a non-binary character + from bullies to a gay character.

Emotional abuse: Some major characters have emotionally abuse parents, this is shown on-screen.

Minor injuries: Blisters, bruises, one scene with plenty of blood but clarified to just be a minor head wound afterwards. etc.

Summary:

Sakura Minamoto dreams of becoming an idol. Unfortunately, reality hits her like a truck, and she dies in a sudden traffic accident. Ten years later, she wakes up in Saga Prefecture, only to find herself a zombie with no memory of her past. While still coming to terms with her demise, she meets a man named Koutarou Tatsumi, who explains that he has resurrected her and six other zombie girls from different eras for the purpose of economically revitalizing Saga by means of an idol group. Assuming the role of an abrasive manager, Koutarou begins scheduling events; the girls go along with it, eventually deciding to name their idol group Franchouchou. An absurdly comedic take on the idol genre, Zombieland Saga tells the story of Franchouchou's heartwarming struggle to save Saga Prefecture while hiding their zombie identities and rediscovering their past lives.

Propaganda:

ITS SO GOOD OHMYGOD. First of all, the music? Amazing. The 3D animation they use for the dancing isn’t the best, but the songs are all bangers. The story is also amazing—it’s just the right blend of silly and serious to really get you to love and care about the characters. And it WILL make you cry. It’s a really cool take on zombies and really uses the full potential of its premise really well. Its dub is also actually good. The acting is great, and the jokes are translated perfectly.

Yuuki: That paint’s the base coat! You’ll be adding more and more layers on top of that. It’s matte so the decals that you stick on after will have more of a pop.

Airi: Yuuki-chan, can I go to the bathroom?

Chisa: Good idea, why don’t we take a break?

Yuuki: Do you think people take potty breaks when they’re building a kit?

Chisa: Uh, people still need to pee.

Yuuki: Come on, just a little more and you’ll be done! You didn’t get this far by slacking off and taking breaks! Stay on the grind!

Airi: I’m so sorry. I was too naive!

Chisa: No, you should go to the bathroom if you need to.

Airi: Put me back in, coach!

Yuuki: That’s the spirit, Airi. I’m proud of you.

Yuzuha: It has been an honour, Coach!

Airi: “Clatter clatter…thank you very much for riding with us today.”

Yuuki: Let me see…hmm, excellent. No sign of faults anywhere. I can tell you put a lot of effort into this.

Yuuki: Go ahead and use the bathroom!

Airi: Right!

Yuuki: How’s the Zero Fighter going, Chisa?

Chisa: Oh, this thing?

Chisa: Huh? Really?

Yuuki: I could never make something like this! Just look at the complete lack of artistic talent!

Chisa: Wha…

Yuuki: This is truly something special only you could make, Chisa. No one else could possibly imitate this build.

Chisa: That really doesn’t feel like a compliment.

Yuuki: Gasp?! This is what I’ve been missing all along!!

Chisa: What?

Yuuki: Thank you kindly!

here is a post of Why I Like Nanamaru Sanbatsu which may or may not also be a Reasons Why You Should Watch Nanamaru Sanbatsu but it’s not made with the intent of persuasion and more of me just gushing over things because this isn’t spoiler friendly

1) Niche Sport

I’m not a stranger to “Sport but it doesn’t involve Ball or Sweat”. That’s a lie, the players sweat a lot in Chihayafuru. The fact that Sasaijma (and then another character in the later chapters in the manga) refer to Karuta is a reason enough to pick up the series. Hikaru no Go was one of my earlier sports anime as well. It’s not like I was a fan of Go or Karuta either but the way the characters wholeheartedly loved what they were doing (and competitively), it made me love it as well. The same definitely goes for Quiz Bowl. While the two I listed were something I completely had no clue how the rules go, Quiz Bowl is a bit more obvious so it’s easier to get into.

(kinda hate these promo pics because there looks like so many fcking charas but really you just need to remember like 5 of them)

2) Nerdy Protag in a Sports anime

Actually coming from YowaPeda, Crunchyroll recommended this amongst other things. YowaPeda did the trope a lot better, given that you’d never associate an Otaku with Biking while a Bookworm being associated with Quiz Bowl does not seem unheard of. But the idea of a nerdy protagonist in a competitive sport was still an allure.

And oops, I think Koshiyama is a cutie so there’s a huge bias towards that. The fact that Horie Shun who voices Enta Jinnai from Sarazanmai voices Koshiyama Shiki gave me a laugh and he actually fits his role very well. Further emphasizes his cuteness without Enta’s weird gay crush lol

3) Ishikawa Kaito

I’m not above watching anime for seiyuu reasons alone but I actually went in blind with this series and to my surprise one of my favs was in it. I’d known Kaito mostly for Kageyama Tobio first, but he’s gone through so many other roles that I enjoy (Kaki from Pokemon SM, Iida from BokuHero, Mimura Subaru from 2.43) and I’ve watched a lot of seiyuu events/radios with him so I’m just a big fan of him in general. Dunno if I should have just merged this point with the next but-

4) Mikuriya Chisato

Kaito has The Range and can do whatever role he wants (I’m most impressed by his role as Alan from BNA) but I think I have a weakness for when he’s slightly an asshole. Mikuriya gave off the generic rival trope, which he kind of is. I got some Subaru vibes from him as well. I don’t know if he’s canonically handsome, but yes I think he’s very good looking for an anime character. Plus the fact that he’s The Cool Guy but is participating in such a sport as Quiz Bowl. AND the moe gap that is his feminine sounding first name and the possibility that he might also actually be an otaku is 👌👌👌👌

My friend had tagged something with him as “Chazz Princeton with a haircut” and while Not Entirely, he is the “We are not friends, we are rivals but I interact and help you enough that we are practically friends but i will continue to deny it” and I love that trope. The way he’s so not interested in Gorls or Nonsense reminds me of Manga Manjoume, though nowhere as serious because he is not above nonsense himself.

5) Fukami Mari

The moment she was introduced, I had very low expectations for her. Of course she is the one that drags Koshiyama into the Quiz Bowl world BUT she doesn’t fall into the trope of “Female is very good at The Thing, BUT Newbie Male MC does it better than her almost immediately”. I’m so glad for that because as you go on with the series, she is very much an entire character and not just a female support cast.

She loves Quiz Bowl but she’s not the best or even very good at it. Her childhood friend from another school (which I was 75% betting that it was going to be a male and a potential love interest) turned out to be a female friend. Instead of “cat fight”, they are still very amicable towards each other and support each other but also acknowledge each other as rivals. The fact that Yuki had only started Quiz Bowl because of Mari but liked it enough to continue on by herself, I think that’s really great.

The anime doesn’t get to it, but she confronts her brother about why he quit Quiz Bowl and challenges him. She has her own goals and ambitions and you see her working on it. She also has her strengths and weaknesses and is a vital addition to the Buzou Quiz Team. Fukami Mari is A Good Girl and I won’t tolerate any slander towards her. The way the beginning of the series sexuallizes her via putting her and Koshiyama into generic anime situations is so uncomfortable but I’m glad they move past that later.

Also since their group isn’t technically a Club (?) Mari isn’t just Female Manager. A plus to Quiz Bowl being Co-Ed sport.

6) Quiz Questions

I like trivia. It’s a little harder to guess the questions along with the anime because you’d have to pause all the time and half the time the contestants are going to buzz in early before you hear the entire question. Unfortunately, unless you actually are a fan of random knowledge or a huge nerd, the questions might actually be hard as well. I literally only knew about 3 questions asked in the entire series and its the anime/manga related ones lol. Still, I enjoyed seeing the characters draw their conclusions and to know what each character’s strong and weak points were. (Mikuriya using Math to calculate the Day of the Week from the past was 😚👌)

7) Side Characters

The first one I’m thinking is obviously Sonohara Akira. The moment of his first appearance, I had a hunch that it wasn’t exactly as it looked. He’s a little schemer but he has his own code of ethics, so he’s not all that bad. (Also hes A Gamer, so Relatable.) The fact that he’s related to Sonohara of Asagaoka makes it all the more interesting because they're’ so different. The way everyone reacts to him is so interesting because he doesn’t take it seriously while everyone else does. My favorite interactions with him aside from the Akiba Squad are the ones with Ookura. (I actually prefer to ship them over Niina/Akira lol)

Sasajima, mysterious Quiz Master with a past related to Fukami’s brother, who used to go to the Prestigious Quiz King School. Character wise, he doesn’t seem interesting but I love his idea of what a Quiz Bowl should be. My favorite parts of a series is when they love the thing they do, and that having fun is what is the most important. Of course you have to be fairly good at the thing first to be able to enjoy yourself freely but he never brags and is a supportive senpai.

Jinko. She’s cute. That’s good enough for me lol. I guess her Electronics Thing is also pretty cool. I like seeing the Sasajimas interact.

8) Ship

Okay, well, its obvious where I fall here. I don’t remember the last time I’ve watched such a generic sport series with a one on one protag vs rival. I’m not above shipping the “obvious/main” ship, as SasuNaru and Edgewright are some of my ships. However I didn’t ship Akira/Hikaru and I don’t ship KageHina but I do ship something like Manjoume/Judai and if asked MakoHaru vs RinHaru, I’d pick the latter, so it might just be a matter of tastes and I won’t fall immediately into every “rival” ship.

So why would I ship Mikuriya/Koshiyama? Because I love it when the Cool Guy falls for the Nerd and EXTRA POINTS if the Cool Guy is also secretly a nerd too. When I mean secretly a nerd, I don’t mean Mikuriya being on quiz bowl but that he might be a closet Otaku. (ImaSaka is everything about this trope.)

Anyway, they are the main two rivals in the series, so of course they acknowledge each other. Koshiyama took it so dramatically but in the past, nobody cared about his presence, let alone think that he’s a Threat. Mikuriya is a Hot Shot and thinks he’s better than everyone but this newb with potential beat him one time (unofficially) so he’s automatically curious.

Even though it is Hot Blooded Competition, Mikuriya always seems to encourage and cheer Koshiyama on (in his own rival-y way of course) whenever he feels down about not being strong enough to compete with him. (When they were lining up for the Third round at Asagaoka) Even when Koshiyama lost, after Mikuriya had a huge handicap, Mikuriya tells him he’ll take him on anytime. The fact that he wants to do Quiz Bowl with (against) him, is practically Sports Anime confession. “I won’t wait for you, Git Gud” “Okay I will Git Gud so we can fight again” *Fist Bump* What are you guys doing.

It might just be the art style but there is a copious amount of blushing happening every time the two interact. Also that height difference!! Mikuriya is 172 while Koshiyama is 153, I fucking love it.

Uhhhh that’s about it. I would like to gush more but there’s only a few chapters of the manga that’s been fan translated and it’s not even half of what’s actually out there. (I think the manga is complete by now?) There’s only one anime season of the series, and I doubt there’s going to be more so RIP me.

Translator’s note: Even though I consider Yuma to be one of the characters I struggle most with when it comes to translating (because of his heavy accent), I really enjoy his personality a lot. The Zero CDs definitely have a more heavy, thriller-like mood in general, but there’s actually quite a few lighthearted moments in this with Yuma just poking fun at the MC.

Track 1: Lushy Metal Trees

A door opens with a loud, creaking sound before the two of you step inside.

“...It reeks of dust in here. Haven’t they been cleanin’...? ...Oi!! We’re letting ourselves in! ...The fuck, no response? Are they even in business still? I don’t sense any presence either, the fuck’s going on?

Hey! It said ‘museum’ on the name plate at the front, right?”

You nod.

“Right? It’s worn down as hell but the lights are on, which means it must be looked after. Are all the employees skippin’ work or somethin’...? Oh well. The door was unlocked so we’ll just let ourselves in.”

You ask him if he is familiar with the location.

“Yeah. I do take a walk in the forests of the Demon World every now and then. This is my first time comin’ across this kind of place though. I can’t really show off since we found it by accident, but we’re out on a date, so if it catches your interest, I don’t mind looking ‘round for a bit.”

You frown.

“It’s fine. It’s a man’s job to listen to his girl every once in a while to make sure she’s having a good time, right?”

You smile.

“Oh! Isn’t that a floor plan over there?”

Both of you walk up to it.

“Woah...This place is pretty huge, huh? Ahー Sculptures, specimen? What’s so fun ‘bout this? Huh? There’s even floors in the basement as well? Ah! How about this one! The one marked as ‘plants’! I have no idea what they’re offering, but it sounds fun, right?”

You nod.

“Okay! It’s settled then! Now how do we get downstairs? Let’s head a little deeper inside.”

The two of you start walking.

“I wonder what kind of plants they’re displaying. If you’d grow them in a basement, they’d wither in no time...Does it work differently because they’re plants from the Demon World?”

You suddenly flinch.

“Huh? What’s wrong? You look pale...”

You point towards the wall.

“Aah? Which one? Gehー!? The fuck’s this? ...Portraits? There’s so many of them. Not to mention, all of them look like the real deal.”

You hide behind Yuma.

“You ‘kay? I guess it makes sense to be creeped out at this many faces lined up. Let’s hurry our way through and head towards the basement. I’m sure they’ve got something better to offer there.”

*TIMESKIP*

Yuma opens the door to the basement floor.

“Okay...This is the place, right? Ahー! Amazing! Come on, take a look as well!”

You start walking around.

“Aah...It really is incredible. There’s trees and grass everywhere, it’s like a real forest! You’d almost forget you’re in a basement.”

*Cling*

“Huh? This feeling...? Metal!? The branches and the leaves...Even the flowers!? They’re all fakes. Ah...Is this what they call ‘art’? Geez...This is kinda wretched. Trees and flowers are the best when alive!”

*Cling*

“Woah!? Fuckー! Ah...You see...I might have put in a liiiitlle too much strength and the...branch broke.”

You start panicking.

“Ah, don’t make a fuss...! Not my fault it’s this frail! The damage has already been done anyway. I know! Listen, don’t move ‘kay?”

*Cling*

“There we go...You really look good with these kind of hair accessoires. There’s a flower on the branch as well, so it looks nice.”

You ask him if it’s okay.

“It’s fine! If they get mad at us, let’s think of a solution on the spot. Although you might be the one getting scolded when you’re sporting the branch in your hair like that.”

You suddenly lunge at him.

“...Woah there~! Can’t catch me, huh? ...What’s the problem? I’ll make sure to take a nice, long look at your teary-eyed face~!”

You try and catch him again but Yuma dodges.

“...Woah! Hehe...When you’re that slow, you’ll never catch me!”

*Cling*

“Huh? Ah...What’s the matter?”

Yuma rushes over to you.

“Ah...You cut yourself? You’re bleeding...The leaves over here have surprisingly sharp tips after all. Can’t be helped. Take a seat for a bit.”

You sit down.

“It may be dim in here but still, you’re a fool. Well...I guess I went a little far with my teasing as well. Come on, show me your leg.”

He inspects the cut.

“It isn’t that deep of a wound. ...’Kay, if I do this, it should heal in no time...”

He starts licking the wound.

“Oi, don’t move! Even if it tickles, just bear with me for a bit. It’s the same when I suck your blood. You should know by know by lickin’ helps close the wound, right? If you flail ‘round like earlier, you’ll end up cuttin’ yourself on some other leaves again. If you don’t want that, keep still.”

Yuma continues healing the cut.

“...Good girl. You were able to endure it properly, huh? ...Ah, wait. There’s some slight cuts on this leg as well. It even tore your clothes.”

*Smooch*

“So? Are your legs fine now?”

You nod.

“Yeah. Be more careful next time, ‘kay? I’ll stop messin’ ‘round as well. ...That being said, I wonder what they’re thinkin’, displayin’ somethin’ this dangerous. ...Ah!?”

*Sniff sniff*

“...What’s this scent!? Let’s go a little further inside. I want to get to the bottom of this...I have a bad feeling ‘bout this.”

To Yuki Kaji My Favorite Seiyuu

Hey, everyone. Yes I heard Yuki Kaji got married to Ayana Taketatsue.

This is going to be one long post. I’m the type of person who can hide her feels, but this time I can’t for one certain person, I don’t care if he ever reads this or not. I just want to vent out my feeling and hopefully move on from here.

First and for most. Congratulations Yuki Kaji and Ayana Taketatsu. I wish you both lots of love and happiness as you both grow as a married couple and start a family together.

Okay from here on out here’s what I have to say to Yuki Kaji. As I’m writing this I’m shaking and shedding a few tear. This is something I want to let out, and be honest about, so please bear with me here.

Kaji-kyun, I have know you ever since Diabolik Lovers. I know bizarre like anime to first hear him in, but that’s not the point. After I found out there was going to be a season 2 of this anime, I got curious to know who were the seiyuus behind these characters. I watched the dub first, and then the sub. I went on to MyAnimeList and saw your name and picture. My first impression of you was “oh he’s cute.” Obviously I had a vague view of you back then. I was just barely getting into the seiyuu world, so I didn’t know what else to think of you. As soon as I went back and watched the anime in the sub I became entranced by your voice. You sounded so scary as Kananto I got chills from the back of my spine. From then on I kinda couldn’t get you out of my mind.

Slowly but surely I soon then found this video of you from an Attack on Titan seiyuu event. Seeing you act out as Eren live, even though I had yet to watch Attack on Titan back then, was so memorizing. I could feel your passion and dedication as Eren I couldn’t help but admire you. Something about you from that moment made me want to get to know you more. I didn’t know what it was, but I wanted to discover it for myself.

Since late 2015, I have at least watch one anime with Yuki Kaji within each seasonal anime. Whether he was a main character, side character or just made a small cameo. A shounen, romance, sequal, reverse herem, sports, slice of life or short anime. I always ended up spotting him and getting excited to hear his god like voice acting. I have even gone as far as to watch some of his past anime as well, just to hear more from him. Through out the years I have also gotten to know him through translations on here, Youtube, or any other media with fan translations about Yuki Kaji.

Kaji-kyun what I’m trying to tell to you is for the past few years now, I have fallen in love with you. So here I go “I love you Yuki Kaji.” I know I don’t know you completely and we speak different languages, but this feeling I have developed for you is so precious to me. You have become someone very important to me. Over these past few years now you have brought me so many laughs, tears, joy and smiles. I love your voice, eyes, hair, cheeks, smile, laugh, humor, personality, kindness, passion, dedication, and free spirit. Ever time I felt depressed I turned to a picture or video of you just to ease the pain. You somehow always bring a light into my life. Which is something I always question if I deserve it or not, either way I always took that light and hold it close to my heart, protecting it with my dear life.

It was a shock to hear you getting married. I’ll be honest and say yes I do feel heartbroken, like I was hit with a ton of brick or hit by a truck. I knew deep down I never had a chance with you. Above all I can’t be mad at you I can never be mad at you. I know you are human, not a thing I own. What I’m trying to say is this. I’m happy for you. You finally found someone who will love you for you and bring you happiness. Your happiness is all I care about right now. In a way here’s my way of spearing my own feeling for your happiness.

To Ayana Taketatsu I don’t know you too well, but judging by your marriage announcement you seem to think a lot like Yuki Kaji which makes me happy and at ease. All I have to say to you is please take care of him not just for me or his fans, but for himself. I care too much about Kaji-kyun if something were to happen to him and he sometimes can be a little too careless. Please and thank you. You have my full support.

Finally to Yuki Kaji, thank you for bring me happiness and light into my life. Thank you for being my support, inspiration, joy and love. I will always love you and will continue to support you as a fan no matter what happens in your life.

Twitter fandom list I guess

So you guys are indeed curious about what i tweet about over on twitter, huh? Very well then! I shall share them with you all, for funsies mostly haha

Ikemen Sengoku

I’ll start with this one because it holds a very hetalia-esque concept to it (which is what drew me to it, admittedly)! It features characters that are based off of sengoku-era warlords that are drawn in a way that Himaruya would’ve done it if he were to implement this historical period into Hetalia (or perhaps make a spin-off of it?) the only difference being that it also features a central female character that interacts with them, thus lightly romanticizing this period in the process. Thought the historical aspect overlaps the romance anyway, so it’s no problem really. It has been (very recently) given a manga adaptation (in which the main character is also given a name, in spite of being nameless (only being referred to as ‘Princess’ or ‘Lady’) in all other forms of media it has taken) a stage play (you can find clips of it) and a short anime that is surprisingly not as serious as you might think, therefore very much like Hetalia in a sense haha

The warlords seem to match their real-life counterparts they were based on very well after doing research myself, so I believe that’s a plus to everything else I mentioned!

Uta No Prince-sama

This one’s famous for its anime, but it was a game previously! I came to love it thanks to one of my best friends (who isn’t in the aph fandom) who introduced me to it. I absolutely adore the songs, they’re catchy and fun, and the voice cast is absolutely excellent as well, most if not all are very popular seiyuu. I tweet mostly about this because playing the mobile game really got me hooked after I watched the anime, (which may be sappy, but I still love it anyway) <3

Kingdom Hearts

Ah, Kingdom Hearts. My very first fandom I ever got in! Feels rather refreshing to return to it after being away from it (while I was deep into aph) for so long! With only 16 days left until the release of KH3, I tweet about my excitement for it and what love I harbored for it, through its highs and lows. I can still feel that it holds its place in my heart, because of the nostalgic ideals it gives off to so many people!

There is also to some extent Final Fantasy, but not so much, since I didn’t play through F//F//X//V all the way through yet.

Kuroko No Basuke

Where the fuck do I begin with this one...

So around two(?) years ago, I kinda tried to get into sports anime. Yeah, it was somehow hard for me to actually get interested as someone who isn’t actually allowed to play any kind of sport due to health reasons but ANYWAY ENOUGH PERSONAL BULLSHITTERY

It isn’t entirely my fault for getting into KNB, because at first I wanted to get into Haikyuu, but when a Japanese student who came to my uni enlightened me on the fact that this series shares a damn cast with Uta no Prince-sama I was literally like “Damn, I guess I’m in” and I was instantly onto watching the anime and FUCK I was not disappointed at all -- the characters and plot ended up mattering more to me than the sport it’s meaning to portray, like damn.

Currently keeping up with the manga too, so that’s fun haha

But for the longest time, I’ve always considered dying by saving someone who’s about to get hit by a car or something, in all honesty literally anyone, be it a total stranger. I’ve never been in such a situation but I’ve always wanted to believe that I have the courage to do that. I’m too dramatic.

Precure Movie “Reincarnations”

With KiraPre’s coming out in a little under two months (second cue to start anticipating next season), I thought I’d go through all the ones I’ve watched so far to see how many seiyuus who starred in the movies ended up coming back to voice characters (main or supporting) in later seasons.

So there’s one rule to this: it has to go from movie –> tv anime. Hence the whole calling it a “reincarnations”…thing.

Left out the All Stars movies cuz I don’t want to deal with those.

Oh, and these are in order by the movies’ corresponding season.

Warning: Image heavy. Also, crappy editing because I’m too lazy to make it look nice. :P

1) Shadow (Yes! Precure 5 Kagami no Kuni no Miracle Daibouken) –> Syrup (Yes! Precure 5 GoGo!) {CV: Park Romi}

I’m pretty sure this is the strangest one on the list. But it’s the legendary Romi Park we’re talking about. She can voice anything.

So not so strange, I guess……no, it is. It’s quite bizarre just thinking these two even have one thing in common. xD;

2) Dark Dream (Yes! Precure 5 Kagami no Kuni no Miracle Daibouken) –> Aoki Reika/Cure Beauty (Smile Precure!) {CV: Nishimura Chinami}

By far, my most favorite “reincarnation”. I love Dark Dream so much as a villain and a baddy-turned-good. That she “returned” as the lovely and badass Cure Beauty… it just made me appreciate Cure Beauty even more.

And I always get so gleeful when their connection shows up in fanart, too. ^^

3) Dark Lemonade (Yes! Precure 5 Kagami no Kuni no Miracle Daibouken) –> Madoka Aguri/Cure Ace (Doki Doki! Precure) {CV: Kugimiya Rie}

Can’t say I’m surprised that Rie Kugimiya came back. Even less surprised that she’d be voicing a Cure because she is a famous veteran.

What I didn’t expect was getting two variations of her voice in one character. Which isn’t a bad thing. I like Cure Ace’s voice. More than Aguri’s/Dark Lemonade’s anyway.

4) Dark Mint (Yes! Precure 5 Kagami no Kuni no Miracle Daibouken) –> Flora (Yes! Precure 5 GoGo!) {CV: Minaguchi Yuko}

Not surprised here either.

I don’t have much to say about this one. Yuko Minaguchi was the voice behind Hotaru/Sailor Saturn from the first SM series, after all. So whether she’s playing an antagonist or a holy-goddess-like figure, she always makes it sound so natural. And her voice is so pretty. She’s so gifted. ^^

5) Princess Chocola (Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!: Okashi no Kuni no Happy Birthday!) –> Chypre (Heartcatch Precure!) {CV: Kawata Taeko}

I’m very fond of this one because I love both of them. <3

It actually took me a while to realize Chocola had the same voice as Chypre (cuz I watched Heartcatch before I watched Yes!5) and when I did I was like “Ohhhh……”

Anyways, it’s nice that a cute character came back as another cute character. Only a very few on this list kept that consistency.

6) Dry (Yes! PreCure 5 GoGo!: Okashi no Kuni no Happy Birthday!) –> Cologne (Heartcatch Precure!) {CV: Ishida Akira}

Let’s just go with the fact that none of these surprise me, lol.

I’m always going to be expecting the veteran seiyuus to show up sooner or later, movie-exclusive or not.

7) Toymajin (true form) (Fresh PreCure!: Omocha no Kuni wa Himitsu ga Ippai?!) –> Hanasaki Kaoruko/Cure Flower (Heartcatch Precure!) {CV: Sakamoto Chika}

I don’t even remember if teddy!Toymajin ever talked at all but according to MAL, he did.

*shrug*

To be honest, what really surprised me (lol, yea, I spoke too soon \D;) was running into Chika Sakamoto again. I remember her fondly as the memorable voice for Nuriko from Fushigi Yuugi. To the mahou shoujo community, you’ll probably recognize her as the voice for Yaten Kou/Sailor Star Healer from Sailor Moon Stars.

8) Olivier (Heartcatch Precure!: Hana no Miyako de Fashion Show…Desu ka?!) –> Candy (Smile Precure!) {CV: Otani Ikue}

P-I-K-A-C-H-UUUU~!!!

Ok, but seriously, I really loved Olivier so when I think of this, I can’t help but feel there’s been a bit of a downgrade. There’s nothing wrong with Candy. It’s just that I think of her more strongly as a mascot than as a character, that’s all.

9) Howling (Suite Precure♪: Torimodose! Kokoro ga Tsunagu Kiseki no Melody!) –> Emperor Pierrot (Smile Precure!) {CV: Genda Tesshou}

Apparently.

Almost all of Precure’s Big Bad Bosses sound the same to me. I really can’t tell the difference.

10) Flat (Suite Precure♪: Torimodose! Kokoro ga Tsunagu Kiseki no Melody!) –> Close (Go! Princess Precure) {CV: Madono Mitsuaki}

Second case where the villain comes back as another villain.

Close is hard to forget (because he’s so annoying) but Flat barely had any character to him that if I didn’t look him up, I wouldn’t be able to tell who’s who in the Trio de Major.

11) Dog (Smile Precure!: Ehon no Naka wa Minna no Chiguhagu!) –> Puff (Go! Princess Precure) {CV: Toyama Nao}

This shouldn’t even be on the list but it’s so amusing that I just had to. Does it literally, right next to Nao Toyama’s name, say “Dog” in the movie credits? xD;

Well, unlike the others who do sport noticeable differences between them, there’s hardly any for these two. That one just got upgraded to a cute maid three years later.

12) Momotaro (Smile Precure!: Ehon no Naka wa Minna no Chiguhagu!) –> Aihara Yuuki (Go! Princess Precure) {CV: Abe Atsushi}

Alright, this can actually be a real reincarnation. I mean, they look alike! They even seem to have similar temperaments!

…Or is that just me?

13) Purple Buggy (Doki Doki! Precure: Mana Kekkon?!! Mirai ni Tsunagu Kibou no Dress) –> Glaive (Kira Kira Precure a la Mode) {CV: Egawa Hisao}

Hey hey~! Somebody from the current season!

But the more important question…when is Glaive going to be relevant in KiraPre again? ^^;

14) Orihara Tsumugi (Happiness Charge Precure!: Ningyou no Kuni no Ballerina) –> Izayoi Riko/Cure Magical (Mahou Tsukai Precure!) {CV: Horie Yui}

Easily my second most favorite of this bunch and frankly, there’s no need to go into extensive explanation about it. HaCha’s movie wouldn’t have been half as interesting without Tsumugi.

Then, bless our luck, we get to hear Hocchan again! Not only as an MC but also as an adorable tsundere! Riko~!!! X3

Man, I really love it when they come back as a Cure. The tones are obviously going to be different between a role they voiced in the movie and a role they voice in the tv series but it’s fun observing just how different they are, y’know? The key is really the acting, yup. ^^

15) Princess Pumplulu (Go! Princess Precure: Go! Go!! Gouka Sanbon Date!!!) –> ??? {CV: Hanazawa Kana}

I can say with confidence that a good percentage of us is waiting on bated breath for the day when Kana-chan will finally be assigned a Precure title. And it’s going to happen, I tell you. IT MUST.

I don’t care if they make her one of the first regular Cures or a latecomer Cure as long as she is a one of the main Cures. Because wtf, Go!Pri’s movie was one the most unfavorite things I’ve ever came across in this franchise that I need to be compensated for sitting through it! If they didn’t split it into three parts, I think we could’ve gotten a hell of a better story.

Especially on Pumplulu’s part. She had such a nice personality and her character had so much potential for expansion. Like, oh I dunno, turning her into a movie-exclusive Cure maybe?! Because technically, a lot of that movie should’ve been about her. AND she had all the qualifications to become Precure. She’s kind and beautiful and strong enough to resist the bad guy from brainwashing her (which is why he had to lock her up because he couldn’t use her like he did with her parents)!

Why wasn’t she made a Cure?! Why’d we have to focus on Haruka dancing around making pudding and CGI stuff I don’t care about?!

*rants for the next few hours*

Not to mention, @rona67th‘s gorgeous fanart of her in Cure form and Mode Elegant just makes me want it to be official even more! *sobs* I’d die to see that animated. I’d give up all the others’ Mode Elegant Halloween forms just for Pumplulu to be made a real Cure. T_T

Well, there’s still that hope that HanaKana will be cast in one of the seasons after KiraPre is finished. I’m actually glad she wasn’t put in KiraPre. I need a season with a deeper concept and theme and overall, stronger story for any role she plays. Because it’s HanaKana and I love her so obviously I would want her to get the roles with the better everything. <3

And that’s it, I suppose. Anyone I missed, feel free to add. Though I’m pretty sure I covered all the major ones.

Guess I’ll do this again when the 2nd Precure Generation is over.

Gotten drunk and thrown up: Exactly once, because I made the mistake of keeping pace with my uncle in Korea who takes soju shots like a champ. This also happened to be the night before Lunar New Year, so I got chewed out by my aunt (older sister of my uncle) once she realized why I was so lethargic during the festivities. _(:3 」∠)_ I don’t regret it though, because before that I had never been hungover before and was wondering what my limit was, haha.

Summary:

In her last year of middle school, Fuu Sawatari had trouble dealing with her emotions following the sudden death of her father. Through the help of her brother and childhood friend, she rediscovered her love for photography, an activity she and her father often did together. In addition, she decided to attend high school in Takehara, her father's hometown and a place they often visited when she was younger.

It has been one month now since Fuu moved to Takehara and became close with her current group of friends: carefree Kaoru Hanawa, excitable Norie Okazaki, and quiet Maon Sakurada. Together with them and several acquaintances around town and abroad, Fuu continues her mission of capturing the joys of everyday life using her father's camera, while also helping her friends discover their own passions.

Which is all true. Animes like this teach you to live right, and that's why we need them. Also to teach us to be "more aggressivu!" PROFILE Blood type A. Her most notable role is Watanabe You from the “Love Live! School Idol Festival” game. Affiliated with Holy Peak.

MEMBER PROFILE: You Watanabe Second-year student at Uranohoshi Girls’ High school. Has been best friends with Chika ever since they were young. She's the type of girl who loves sports, a high-diver who splits her time between the swim club and the school idol club. Wants to be a ship captain just like her father in the future. She’s skilled at sewing because she loves uniforms. As a result, she is also in charge of all of Aqours’ outfits.

—Please introduce yourself! I’m Saito Shuka, nicknamed “Shukashuu”! (Watanabe) You-chan is a lively kid, so she has some super cute points. Since I love her so much, in my wish to become You-chan in both mind and body, I cut my hair to mimic her hairstyle (laugh). I wouldn’t say that there are any bullies in the cast, but it seems like the others always want me imitate things for them. Like… I even had to imitate a cave cricket one time (laugh). And even though it does make me happy that my imitations are so well-received, I also wonder, “Is it really okay to continue being like this?” and get anxious… it’s a strange kind of feeling, I guess (laugh).

—What was your first impression of Watanabe You? At first, I was surprised because I had no idea what her catchphrase “Yousoro!” meant (laugh). Moreover, You-chan turned out to be a high-diver who enjoys sailing because she wants to follow in her father’s footsteps… I was like “Huh? Doesn’t she want to be a school idol?” as many new questions began to run through my head. But, You-chan’s always full of energy, and she supports the impulsive (Takami) Chika-chan from the shadows every now and then. She has so many good sides to her that I came to love her right away!

「A」: Aqours

What is the charm of ‘Aqours’? Aqours’ activities have just begun, so everyone is really giving it their all right now. I think this side of Aqours is what makes them the most charming. Not to mention, Aqours is a name created by combining the words “aqua” and “ours”. So, it represents how the girls live in Numazu, surrounded by both nature and the warm-hearted townspeople who watch over them. In this sense, I don't think Aqours was formed by the nine of them alone, but also with the support of everyone in Numazu. This kind of outside support is wonderful to have, too.

「q」: Question

What would you like to try asking Watanabe You? I would like to ask You-chan about how she feels now, looking back at when she first started trying to become school idols together with Chika-chan. You-chan is also involved with the swim club’s activities, and on top of that she has to design their idol outfits, so it must be super difficult for her. Even so, she didn’t give up on being a school idol. This is surely because she wants to know why Chika-chan is so fixated on school idols, as well as because she would have the chance to experience many new things together with Chika-chan as a school idol. So, I want to ask You-chan about what kind of future she thinks is in store for them right now and how her world has changed.

「o」: Objective

What is your current goal for the future, Saito-san? I want to become You-chan! That’s my goal!! Not just to act like Watanabe You, but to completely become Watanabe You herself, so that whenever fans see me, they’ll immediately think of You-chan. Unfortunately, you’ll have to give me a little more time before I can make “Yousoro” my catchphrase (laugh). I’ve been closely observing both You-chan’s behavior and her expressions so that I can become more and more like her!

「u」: Uniforme

Which costume was your favorite? All of them were really cute, which made me realize, once again, that You-chan is an amazing kid. In particular, I think the outfits from the Episode 9 Insert Song ‘Mijuku DREAMER’ had a distinct Japanese feel to them, as if only someone Japanese could have made such a costume. This is something I really liked about them. Then again, if I were to choose based on You-chan’s point of view, then the the outfits from the Episode 11 Insert Song ‘Omoi yo Hitotsu ni Nare’ were also some of my favorite. I have a strong emotional attachment to those outfits, since that was what You-chan wore while dancing right next to Chika. In addition, there are actually quite a few instances where You-chan and Chika-chan’s outfits are matching. I guess that’s one of You-chan’s special privileges as the costume designer (laugh).

「r」: Radio

How do you feel about doing radio broadcasts and Niconamas? It was my first time doing radio broadcasts and Niconamas, so I was super nervous! Whenever I get nervous, my hands start shaking. Every time we broadcast, I have to hide my shaky hands like my life depends on it (laugh). But, although I do feel uneasy, the fact that we have the chance to hear from our many fans during our broadcasts always makes me happy. Plus, above all, it’s just super fun to be able to chat as a group of nine. Of course, it’s still fun when it’s just us second years, but it just isn’t quite Aqours without all nine of us there. I enjoy it the most when everyone is there to participate!

「s」: Stage

Please tell us your thoughts on the 1st Live, which is going to be held February 2017 in Yokohama Arena! I’m anxious, I’m nervous... no matter how I think about it, only negative feelings come to mind right now. But, the only thing we can do for the fans who come to watch us is to give it our 120% to make sure everyone enjoys the Live. So, I’d like to enjoy the performance while going “Full steam ahead, Yousoro!” And, since Love Live! is “a story about everyone fulfilling their dreams together”, it would be nice if all of us — both the fans and everyone in Aqours — can fulfill one big dream together at this Live!
