Ness takes one look at Caj with her boots and her mesh top and the DAGGER strapped to her THIGH and just stands there slack-jawwed til she gets any sort of acknowledgement whatsoever. Tries to play it cool. Fails. Caj compliments her jacket. Ness bluescreens.

Skwisgaar, who has been waiting for just such an opportunity, swoops in to Save the Day. Hand on Vanessa's shoulder, he plays his Uno reverse card.

"You aments her type, Caja." (Smug. Incorrect.)

Caj rolls her eyes, steps away, gives Ness a 'call me' sign, more to irritate Skwisgaar than out of any real interest, leaves. Vanessa's knees buckle as Skwisgaar gives her a well-meaning pat on the back.

"You don't wants to chase dat one, my friend, trusts me. She woulds chew you up and spits you out."

Vanessa finds her voice long enough to wheeze "Well now I gotta..."

Sorry for the long ask, this took over my brain while I was out walking. Ness likes men who make her laugh and women who could destroy her. I got to Caj's "Daddy likey" remark in the latest Dethkomic and heard Vanessa's distant scream in the back of my mind lol 😖

Hang on... Let me consult the drawing board...

Happy Winter Wonderklok! Today's prompt is Saran Wrap Ball, and it marks part 1 of my 'big fic' for this challenge.

Summary: Saturnalia, at its Roman height, was a festival to celebrate Saturn, the god of the harvest. After the appropriate sacrifices, celebrants partied, exchanged gifts, feasted, and made merry in hopes of a bountiful spring.
