This is just my vent/rambles. I need it so here I go:

The chapter started off great between Kai and Amelia. When they were at Meredith's house and Amelia's ex's hadn't arrived yet everything was going well they were even playing soccer with the kids, Kai seemed very excited to meet the family and Scout. When the co-workers started arriving and being faced with the situation of meeting more people I noticed that Kai started to feel anxious (maybe this is related to they not liking public speaking and getting anxious like when they had to explain their procedure at David's surgery) and when Amelia left with Scout I think that was their peak of social anxiety maybe. They felt overwhelmed.

The swing scene broke me, I got the feeling that Kai after talking to Owen and Link (Amelia's exes) understood that Amelia wanted more children in the future because she likes her maternal side( but Amelia really doesn't want any more children, she doesn't even want to get married, but they doesn't know that). Which maybe gave their a trigger for parenting (remember Kai comes from a dysfunctional family that doesn't respect their gender identity or their name). It was a lot to process and there was a lack of communication. Kai was quick to shut down and talk about it to take care of theirself and not get hurt and Amelia obviously missed the point. There needs to be a conversation where she tells they she doesn't want to have any more children and them can come to a consensus on what them should do for each other. I hope Kai realizes that they got carried away with their anxiety at the drop of a hat. And that they doesn't need to expose theirself to groups of people or be a parental figure, but to be around Amelia's family and share with Scout like they did at the beginning of the episode when them still looked happy together. I refuse to think that it all ended with cross ideas between them. This character and ship changed the lives of many of us and Amelia who up to this point had only suffered enough. They deserve more than that.

I think if the writers are avoiding putting two certain cast members together again, it’s going to be another frustrating disjointed season. Like isolated storylines with some big group scenes thrown in 😬 If I was to go full negative, some actors are going to reach a point where they phone it in. But I’m hoping we’ll get more variety of characters in scenes together. Carina and Travis would be interesting, and Carina and Ben have a lot of common ground and depth if they use it well.

Yes definitely...I'm very curious what they're going to do on that front. I mean based on the storyline, they can't exactly avoid each other? If they're both going for captain at the same station but I guess it depends how involved the writers have Maya in that because I don't trust them at this point. I still can't believe we're going to have to deal with Beckett as captain still for however long...it's definitely going to be rough. But yeah I hope we get some different dynamics too, I would love Carina & Travis and I love when Maya & Travis interact and yeah, Ben annoys me most of the time but he is someone who technically should be friends with Carina too but it just depends what the writers feel like doing. Of course they dropped the Carina/Vic friendship once Vic's abortion was over so that was frustrating too. I just don't know what to expect with any of the storylines and especially with the change in showrunner too!

To many a Grey’s Anatomy fan, Arizona without Callie is like surgery without anesthesia. But when Jessica Capshaw reprises her role in the ABC drama’s abbreviated Season 20 (which kicks off Thursday, March 14, at 9/8c), she’ll be doing so as a solo actress. Why didn’t Sara Ramirez scrub in as Callie, too?

“We have an open-door policy here” where former cast members are concerned, new showrunner Meg Marinis tells TVLine. “We always want to see old characters come back and interact with the new characters.

“But there are so many [alumni], and everyone has busy careers and schedules,” she continues. On top of that, “this particular story really connected to Arizona and her specialty, so it made sense” for her former wife not to return to Seattle with her. (Per the Season 20 trailer, Robbins is out to “make history” at her old stomping grounds with an assist from Grey Sloan’s motley crew of interns.

At least during Capshaw’s comeback, we are likely to get an update on “Calzona” and the reunion that we all expected to follow Arizona’s exit in Season 14’s finale. Marinis doesn’t come out and say that we’ll be getting answers, but she acknowledges that it would be hard for Robbins’ pals not to ask where the couple stands. “Of course!

“That was such an iconic relationship. It’s still, to this day,” she adds. “When people approach me, one of the things that resonates with them about the show is that relationship. It’s amazing that people still talk about it. Clearly, we did something right.”

Okay, look I see what you mean and it could be interesting to see, for sure, not sure how they would make it work, but it could be fun and a very unique dynamic too. But I was thinking about this earlier, how Tommy fits in the Buckley-Diaz family of it all and now I need to see more of Tommy to form opinions on him, because here's the thing, the episode was on Buck's pov, right? So it affected the way Eddie was being presented to us, the Eddie we were seeing, I don't wanna say was ooc, but he was not reacting the way we expect when it comes to Buck, but what if that affected the way Buck saw Tommy too? I can't stop thinking that there's a chance Tommy might look that "cool" because of the Buck has a crush goggles, because that has absolutely clouded Buck's judgement when it comes to people before (the Taylor of it all the biggest example), so I can't stop eyeing Tommy suspiciously right now kspakapkapka

Personally nothing makes me angrier than people who try to say that Kai and Amelia were rushed. Like you're gonna sit there and confidently tell me, with your whole chest, that an 8 episode build up to one kiss, and then waiting 4 more for another one + sex is too fast??? It took more than half the season for them to even sleep together. Meanwhile, in less than that amount of time, Amelia and Link went from being complete strangers to expecting a child together. This isn't even considering all the other het ships that kissed/had sex within a few HOURS of knowing each other (Calzona did this too!). Like, give me a break. Grey's does not do slow burn romances, it is not in their vocabulary. By all comparable standards, Kai and Amelia had more build up than most of the fandom's most popular ships.

I just went down a Dansen rabbit hole and I can’t believe they got the ending they did. A couple of lesbian couples have gotten married onscreen but very few have perfect proposals (Calzona’s come to mind in terms of one of the worst both the actual ask and the reasoning at the time) and such healthy, genuinely caring relationships. They actually talked things through without contempt, liked each others company and enjoyed hanging out in a way that felt believable and not just overly romantic and were just so sweet. Also Esme was adorable. We hardly see such a well rounded second love storyline for a lesbian character but they really did well and Alex was so comfortable and grown with Kelly and I loved it.

Yasss! I know they weren't steamy and were just a little too perfect for some, but I LOVED THEM! Maybe it's the kind of sapphic relationship you appreciate on tv as you get older because it's what you want. I want someone I'm comfortable with. Someone I can chill with who gets me. Someone who is emotionally intelligent and who knows how to communicate. I don't want the excitement of toxicity in my life. I want the calm of intimacy and companionship.

We still don't get too many healthy wlw relationships on TV and we tend to get them in horrible situations if they are healthy lol. Sometimes I just want them to calm tf down and just be, I really do lol

I used to hope that callie and Arizona ended up endgame, for like 4 times that I rewatched I was a "calzona forever" girl but now I can finally understand who said it shouldn't happen.. Arizona doesn't deserve Callie, Callie's too good for her, she deserves much better.. I know that Arizona's farewell implied that she went back to Callie but now I really hope not

Much like Addison's guest stint last season, I found Arizona's return underwhelming. To say it was groundbreaking surgery but have the interns look so bored made it boring as a viewer IMO. They are the subpar of subpar interns, other interns would never. Back to Arizona, (side note I never liked that she changed specialties) to not get a Callie or Sofia mention and also hide her ring finger (whether intentional or not), surprised since Meg Marinis was always a big Calzona writer.

I thought it was too and I found it incredibly strange and insulting how the interns treated her. As if she was just some co-worker of theirs. Definitely weird vibes. And I agree it was super messed up that there was no update or mention of Callie and Sofia. I wasn't aware that Meg was a big Calzona writer but that makes it even worse.
