"People are creatures who cant live without loving someone. But since they're creatures who can't love something that's strange or revolting, then by process of elimination, they can't live without loving something they can love."
It's her. The meat woman.
tbh, I don't really know anything about her asides from the stuff that I read on her wiki / Birth of Authority from Wish document and stuff that people in the fandom have said about her, so idk how accurate this would be to her lol but I think I have a gist for what her deal is XD
For Capella, I was going for a kind of butcher aesthetic, but with some touches of demon / dragon elements because iirc she transforms into a dragon at some point (also I think she already has a demonic vibe to her + just... how she is in general), and she 'butchers' people's bodies into grotesque shit. That's also the reason why her weapons are meat cleavers, to go with the whole 'butcher' theme. I also wanted to have a sort of clashing of cutesy / risqué elements in her outfit to go with the contrast of her appearance versus her personality, hence the ruffles + bows in her outfit paired with the latex top, gloves, and pencil skirt. I had no idea what to do with her at first, because her outfit in canon is literally just. A bikini. And some other shit. Aside from a color scheme I had no real 'theme' to go off of, just scantily clad outfit. I was at first gonna go for something like a mad nurse / surgeon vibe cause of how she alters people, but being a butcher just fits so much better for her and goes with her vibes really well. Also I think she's been called 'meat woman' in the LN or WN before so it makes sense lol XD
The authority from a wish document basically says that she wants to be loved by everyone and believes that people only love someone's appearance / looks are all that matter, so she wants to make everyone else around her look disgusting so that they only love her, and says her 'wish' is to turn others into something revolting, so that's what she probably wished for, giving her the ability to transform herself and others into whatever she wants.

capella alludes to a chimera
Something that's always intrigued me is the meaning of Capella's name. Back in July 2014, near the end of Arc 4's run in the Web Novel, the author answered a question about Regulus's Authority and stated it was unrelated to the mythos of the Nemean Lion.
Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 This question was asked and answered before Capella's introduction in Arc 5. And yet, in November of that same year, a scene in Chapter 36 of Arc 5, which was also adapted into Volume 17, had a scene which could potentially tie the meaning of Capella's name to mythology. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 Two chapters before this scene, the meaning of Capella's name was established as “she-goat” (雌ヤギ), and the literal meaning of “chimera”, a term for a hybrid creature in ancient Greek mythology, is also “she-goat” (牝山羊). Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 The mythological chimera was a three-headed monster with the frontal head of a lion, the head of a serpent or dragon on its tail, and the head of a goat in the center. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 In the aforementioned section of Arc 5, Capella transforms her respective arms into the head of a lion and the head of a serpent. With her name meaning she-goat, Capella herself is the stand-in for the goat. So, does this mean her Authority is tied to the mythological chimera?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 That's all I can really see for a direct tie, at least when it comes to her Authority. As stated above, Capella's name could signify that she is a stand-in for a goat. There are also ways she's tied to a "lion" and a "serpent". Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 The lion was once the symbol of the royal family. Capella claims the name of Emerada Lugunica, a purportedly deceased princess of the royal family, and her gold hair and crimson eyes reflect the appearance of the family's members. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 The possibility exists that she IS Emerada Lugunica. She ultimately relies on her own intuition over the judgement of her Gospel, which she uses as a suggestion. From the vague information we have, someone with the qualities of a Lion King possesses uncanny intuition and insight. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 While Fourier was still a child, Miklotov implies that someone from two generations ago had the qualities of a Lion King. This was also the era in which Emerada was still alive, opening up the door for his words being a reference to her. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 Capella's "ties" to a serpent may have a double meaning. On one hand, there is the Black Serpent. According to Ferris in the Intersecting Hopes chapter from One Day II, its poison killed the royal family. It's also often speculated that Capella was responsible for their doom. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 On the other hand, there is Roy Alphard, whose name signifies his own ties to the serpent. It's heavily implied that Capella, as “Mother”, has Roy as one of her children. The two of them were at Priestella's City Hall together, Roy mentions “Mama” before eating Joshua, […] Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 Rui says that her brother is “that woman’s yes-man” in Volume 20, and when mentioning the other Sin Archbishops in the Web Novel, Capella specifically calls out Bizarre Eating over choosing to mention Gluttony in general. To put it another way… Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 Capella being connected to the serpent may indicate that Roy serves her as one of her children, and by extension, it could denote her role as Mother, the enigmatic figure who was responsible for forcing people like Elsa, Meili, Reisel, and Sithonia to do her bidding. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 Looking at it in this way, supposing that the decision to give her the heads of a lion and a snake on each of her arms, denoting a potential connection to the chimera, was intentional, the way it could broadly link to aspects of Capella's character is pretty thought-provoking. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 It's easy to overlook symbolism. So, although there isn't exactly any tangible connection Capella has to a lion or a serpent, by viewing her connections to those creatures from a symbolic angle, you can get more out of it with this imaginative perspective. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 And thus, instead of attempting to theorize how Capella could die in the exact way that the chimera did or something based on the rationale of the possibility that her name is meant to express a direct parallel to the chimera, I've instead focused on this neat symbolism angle. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 That's all for this thread. As always, thank you all for reading! Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 One more thing. Although I came to the conclusion that Capella could have a symbolic connection to the lion and serpent of the chimera by myself and more or less posted these exact views on how to Reddit in late 2022, I wasn't the first person to point out the chimera connection. Shadow @ShadowKoto · Feb 24 From what I can tell, it appears that the first person who noticed it was actually Yumiya-san! Here's a link to his original post regarding the subject from July 2020:
Tumblr media
"
By the way, the word "capella" comes from "chimera", which means "female goat", and it appears that Chimera's cause of death was suffocation due to her throat being choked with lead melted by the heat of the flames.
I do have the impression that suffocation would be effective against an immortal opponent like Capella.
" ( tappei stated Camilla would be able to beat her
Tumblr media
Oh my goodness, there's a semi-official comparison between Capella and a chimera!?!?! I'm not sure whether to say this adds to the credibility of the meaning of her name being a reference to the chimera, as both it and Capella mean "she-goat", but it's VERY interesting.
[No.85 Capella]
This is “Capella” who is in charge of Witch Cult Sin Bishop “Lust” 😱
This person has changed completely, becoming a person with a strange appearance like a chimera 👾 Various parts are designed in great detail 🧐

"I was at the Grammies sitting behind Chuck D and across from Elvis Costello when I began writing Infinity on High. As I sat there in my Sunday best (I splurged on an Italian maroon ascot) watching Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys duet a capella, I decided in a room full of innovators that on our two previous albums, I had contributed nothing to pop music.
My saying so is in no way meant as a slight to our indie debut Take This To Your Grave, a strong if derivative pop-punk album from a young band yet uninterested in finding itself. I have slightly less positive things to say of its successor, the exponentially more successful but creatively inconsistent From Under the Cork Tree, for which we were nominated that night.
It dawned on me that, were we to win, we wouldn’t have deserved it. We rightfully lost. I rode back to my hotel, ripped the ascot out of my collar, walked across the street, ate dinner alone, and wondered to myself what would have to change in order for me to feel more comfortable with accolades.
Fear. I was afraid of being who I was musically. Pete was always honest and brave lyrically. Joe and Andy were in their playing as well. But I was timid and hid behind convention as well as re-imaginings of other people’s innovations.
I went back to my hotel and began simply writing without fear of how our audience or critics would react. When we ultimately recorded, I sang how I did at home for myself, not in the way I had learned to sing “punk rock.”
While I won’t say Infinity on High was our best Album, I will say it was a watershed for me creatively. Zero Grammy nominations though."
-Patrick Stump on writing Infinity on High (printed in the lyric book to believers never die)

Oakie the Acorn is the Best Mascot Ever
I don’t even go to this school I just love them. Here’s an interview they did for SUNY Mascot Madness.
Oakie - SUNY ESF
Tumblr media
Who are you, where are you originally from, and where do you do your mascot thing? I'm Oakie Acorn (they/them), proud representative of ESF and its Mighty Oaks athletic teams! I was “born” when I fell out of ESF's Robin Hood Oak which means my roots go back to the Major Oak in England's Sherwood Forest. Maybe that's why I'm so merry! While most of my mascot duties have me in Syracuse, I also pop in at our Ranger School in Wanakena and our satellite campuses in the Adirondacks and Thousand Islands.
What's a unique new thing (building, club, activity, employee, etc.) on your campus that you treasure? The newly renovated Marshall Hall is wonderful! Open since 1933, Marshall underwent a major two-year reno re-opening in 2023. We kept the classic features, such as the spiral staircase and auditorium, while updating the building to a state-of-the-art learning center with spaces tailored to the needs of today's students. The building is home to our Landscape Architecture, Environmental Studies, and mathematics programs. Along with great classroom and studio space, there are plenty of study nooks for students to tuck in and do work between classes or meet with friends.
If you could start your own club or major on campus, what would it be? Wow! Difficult question because ESF has so many unique clubs, activities, and majors already! That said, I'd love to start an a capella group – Oak-apella! I don't speak, but I have a song in my heart and would love to hear ESF students sing. Maybe I could do some interpretive dance while they sing.
What's your hidden talent that you haven't told anyone about yet? Anyone on campus at night might have seen me skateboarding. The other day I landed a kickflip over the gap and was pretty stoked. Sadly, no one was around to see it. Flicks or it didn't happen, right? We do have some talented campus artists who have drawn me and my board though.
What campus cheer gets you pumped up and why? (with great enthusiasm)  O-A-K-I-E!  They're our acorn can't you see?  Sprouting strong through day and night  We've got bark and we've got bite!    ESF Orientation Leaders chant this while they lead our newest acorns to convocation. I love hearing it echo off the campus buildings!
What sport would you play if you were a student-athlete? I would join the Bass Fishing team in a heartbeat! I know when you think “acorn,” you think “land-based,” but I'd love to get out on the water and drop a line or two. There's so much more to me than most people know.    I would look awesome in one of the Bass Fishing team jerseys – provided they could get me an XXXXXL.
Read any good books lately? The Climate Optimists Handbook by environmental activist Anne Therese Gennari is a great read. Her book is about empowering people to get excited about changing the narrative on climate change so we act from courage and excitement to co-create a better world. She totally gets the ESF vibe! She was our commencement speaker last May and inspired our graduates and their guests to Improve Our World!    And of course, Braiding Sweetgrass by our own Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer is always close at hand to read again and again!
Favorite pizza topping? Mushrooms. I love to top my pie with things I've foraged in the woods. Remember, you have to be very careful with mushrooms. I always take along a friend who has taken Dr. Alex Weir's mycology course to ensure I don't eat anything that could make me sick or worse!
If you were SUNY Chancellor for a day, what would you do? I would declare every day Earth Day in SUNY and plant pollinator gardens on every campus. I would also help other campuses set and reach their own Zero-Waste goals. Sustainability is a key component to helping the environment. I would then ask to be Chancellor for a couple more days to visit as many campuses as possible and see all the great things SUNY students are doing.  I don't know how Chancellor King does it all! Does he ever sleep?
How would you celebrate being named SUNY Mascot Madness Champion in 2024? The same way I celebrated in 2017 when I won the title – surrounded by the best students, faculty, and staff ever! We had a party that the whole campus attended. My friend, Victor E. Knight from SUNY Geneseo, was gracious enough to come and present me with the trophy and join the festivities. I think it would be great to host Wolfie on campus this year.

So I started going onto Re:Zero Tumblr and AO3 as I was finishing up season 1 of the anime.  As a result, I have been spoiled for a lot of things, but unlike other works of media, Re: Zero spoilers have been more likely to get me more interested in reading the series rather than less.
Some honourable mentions of things I got spoiled for that really piqued my interest:
Roswaal’s fun and zany body swap adventures
Subaru’s whole memory loss thing in arc 6
Ram being the “Reincarnation of the Oni God” (which wasn’t as big of a deal as I thought it would be when I found out about it. All it really means is that she’s really good at wind magic)
Capella being Meili’s mother (although I think “mother” is just a title and she isn’t actually her mother. I think?)
Extra special shoutout goes to one of the first Re: Zero Tumblr posts I read vaguely discussing what Otto was doing in arc 8.  Meanwhile I’m still getting through season 1 of the anime going Otto? The cart guy? The guy who drove a cart that one time? THAT Otto?
But do you know what the biggest discrepancy between what I know through fanon and what I know through canon is?
Carol and Grimm.
You know Carol and Grimm, right? They’re married. Carol was an attendant to the previous sword saint. Grimm had his vocal cords injured in the Demi-human war. I know plenty about them.
But I shouldn’t.
I’m pretty sure that Carol was mentioned once in a flashback in Arc 5, and I don’t think Grimm has ever appeared in main story whatsoever.  I know they show up in the EX novels (and maybe some short stories) but I HAVEN’T READ THOSE YET. Despite that, I have a very clear I idea of who these two people are, solely on account of the fact that there are at least 3 differant Re: Zero fanfics that I can think of off the top of my head that have Carol and Grimm appear as supporting characters in some form.

Is there a character in re zero who hasn't killed subaru once?
Okay, here's my complete answer guide to the question “Has this character killed subaru?” lets go (NOTE: ONLY UP TO ARC 6, NOT INCLUDING WHAT:IFS!)
Emilia camp:
Emilia: Has not! Starting off strong!
Puck: Froze him to death a couple times
Rem: Killed him once and then tortured him until her sister mercy killed him
Ram: Mercy killed him that one time, and also attempted to murder him in cold blood multiple times. Once in arc 2 and twice in arc 6 (Though one of those was a misunderstanding)
Beatrice: Has not killed him, but she got dangerously close to when she zapped his mana
Roswaal: Not directly, but pretty much every death in arcs 1-4 was his doing indirectly so… Yeah.
Otto: He threw him off the carriage to be eaten by the white whale, though it didn’t work he still died
Garfiel: Absolutely. A couple times.
Ryuzu: Kind of sort of. Not on purpose exactly.
Frederica: No, she unknowingly sent him to his death by following Roswaal’s directions though.
Petra: Kind of the same as Frederica but even less at fault because she’s 12
Patrasche: She bit his fucking head off but she’s still a good girl
Subaru: Subaru holds the record for the most Subaru deaths caused by a character directly. He’s unwell.
Anastasia camp:
Anastasia: Not really? Eridna tried to kill him while possessing her body
Julius: Yes, but it was a mercy kill
Joshua: No, I don't think he could if he tried
Ricardo: No he’s too cool
Any of the triplets: No but I think they could if they worked together
Crusche camp:
Crusche: I’m sure it came to mind, but no.
Ferris: Aided with the aforementioned mercy kill but didn't directly kill him
Wilhelm: No way, that’s his grandpa
Priscilla camp:
Priscilla: No but I think she threatened to at least once
Al: No they’re bros
Schult: The sickly Victorian orphan? No.
Heinkel: Nope but he should kill himself instead
Felt camp:
Felt: Hasn’t killed him, but tried to when she thought he was breaking into her house
Reinhard: Indirectly killed him by killing Sirius
Rom: No. But he did eat his chips.
Ton, Chin, and Kan: Mugged him in multiple loops, though Chin is the only one who actually stabbed him, and the others freaked out implying they had no intention of actually killing him.
Witch cult:
Petelgeuse: Technically he never killed Subaru directly, he sure as hell did torture him though.
Regulus: Tried to, but somehow the immortal man was killed by the guy who dies all the time. Irony.
Sirius: Fucking Christ yes
Capella: Technically not directly
Gluttony siblings: Ley killed him once in arc 6, and Roy might have some kills because his body was kind of being possessed by Reid but that’s about as murky as the Anastasia/Eridna situation
Witches of sin: None of them tried to kill him directly but they did have a huge debate about whether or not he should kill himself. Echidna especially loved the idea of him killing himself as much as possible.
Others:
Elsa: Did the vampire serial killer kill him? Did she? Yes. Yes she did.
Meili: A few times. In arcs 2, 4, and 6!
Shaula: Yes, with her light sniper and as a giant scorpion. Girlboss!
Ried: Kind of, but again it was Roy’s body, sort of. It’s complicated.
Naoko and Kenichi: NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT THEIR DARLING BABY SON!!!!!!!!
Kadomon: No he’s just here to sell apples

this doesn't happen in the novel, this is just a fanart of what would happen if a certain villain captured and brainwashed Crusch, at least that is what I guess from what I see on the art.
