'...Mr. Arnold is tempted into the ball by a Doctor Who Annual and is playing the theme in the music shop scene – are you a fan of Doctor Who in real life? And what was it like making those jokes and references in front of the Tenth Doctor David Tennant?
“I’ve always dipped in and out of Doctor Who over the years since Sylvestor McCoy, who was doing it when I first became aware of it when I was growing up. Even if you’re not a fan it’s one of those shows you can’t really get away from, so doing that particular scene in front of David was really fun, and of course Douglas had directed Doctor Who as well. Apart from the amusing situation of two supposed Doctor Who fans talking about Doctor Who without realising they’re in the company of a Doctor Who, I also seem to remember Michael being the one to suggest that he would deliver his “due to problems at the BBC” line directly to David.
Oh, and I think it was actually my idea to grab the annual off the harpsichord before joining the queue behind Crowley at the end of the ballroom scene (which we’d shot weeks earlier at this point). When we were blocking it out and rehearsing I knew I had to leave my position and get to the front for my “surrender the angle” line, and then later it just felt like I wouldn’t leave without the annual so I ran back through everyone to grab it. Nobody seemed to have a problem with me doing that so I just carried on doing it when we shot it! I do remember it being a fun set with Douglas and the team being very open to suggestions.”
How did you balance filming both Good Omens and BBC Ghosts at the same time?
“Luckily both shows were a joy to work on, and everyone seems to know about both of them. We were shooting them in early 2022 and I also had a little part in an ITV drama called ‘Stonehouse’, starring Matthew Macfadyen. I usually never know when I’m working next so to have three great TV jobs at once was very unusual. There was all this date juggling and I actually almost had to turn down Ghosts due to clashes. Luckily both shows had to move some dates so it worked out. But yes, I spent two weeks up in Scotland shooting all that Good Omens ballroom stuff, then I came back down to London to do Ghosts, knowing I’d be back up to shoot my scenes in the music shop in a couple of weeks. Now, when I found out who was playing my wife in Ghosts I couldn’t believe it: Caroline Sheen – Michael Sheen’s cousin! She was amazing and that was another great set in general. I say “set”, but it’s all filmed in that house which surprised me. I’d worked with Kiell [Smith-Bynoe] and Jim [Howick] before, and Charlotte [Ritchie] was in the Good Omens radio play a few years ago and a big fan of the book. Charlotte’s very musical of course and we got talking about my folding keyboard I had for practising my Good Omens stuff, and she ended up setting it up in the house for us to have a play on!
Now, when we’d shot all our internal scenes there was this big storm forecast, and our external scenes were scheduled for the day of the storm, so that had to be moved into the next week. It meant I ended up shooting those scenes outside the house, then going straight back up to Scotland to shoot the Good Omens music shop scene the next day! When I mentioned to Michael I’d just worked with Caroline he said “ooh she’s in Ghosts is she!” and revealed that she’d texted him about me which was rather surreal. Then later after the Ghosts wrap party Kiell gave me a part in his Channel 4 Blap, so at the time I felt like I was killing it career wise, but the industry quietened a bit after that and my workload eased off over the year so I was in my overdraft by November.”
What are your plans for the future – can we expect to see you in something else soon?
“This year, after a bit of a quiet start, I was very fortunate to work on a Disney+ show called Rivals which stars… David Tennant! I think I’m allowed to say my character is called Brian, and I shot five episodes so that was another really amazing job, and great to work with David again (I told him he must be my good luck charm, although I hope he’s not sick of me). That should be out at some point in late 2024. Other than that I’ve filmed a few other bits I presume will be out next year, one of which is called Truelove on Channel 4 which actually looks really good. That starts early January. Of course now Season 3 of Good Omens has been greenlit, I would love Neil and the gang to have me back on that… but I can only keep my fingers crossed!”

Still Working 9 to 5 (2022) Review
In 1980 the comedy film 9 to 5 starring Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Dabney Coleman raised some talking points, behind the laughter some serious issues were at its core with the treatment of women within office enviornments. 40 years after the film Still Working 9 to 5 explores if things have ever got better for women in the workplace? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Continue reading Untitled

y'know, i do think that actors are probably the closest that humans will ever get to a shapeshifter because sometimes i'll go through an actor's filmography and be totally taken aback by the sheer range of roles they've played and how violently dissimilar one role is from the other, so much so to the point that i'll literally forget that they played someone else and oh my god

If I were not a Catholic, and were looking for the true Church in the world today, I would look for the one Church which did not get along well with the world; in other words, I would look for the Church which the world hates.

Firstly i dont think she adjusted since moving to the UK what do u think?
And secondly this post feels that its all about her again like and the character is based on her in real life but the project was longed talk about in 2017 as michael said on the Graham norton show to which michael was with Sarah at that point. It's again trying to be the centre of attention again and stay irrelevant just cos she not getting it from michael
What ur thoughts on this recent of post of Al
So, apologies that it took me all week to answer this--I feel like the entirety of the month of February has just caught up with me, which essentially feels like a lot of tiredness hitting all at once.
I did see this on Monday, however, and I just...am again at something of a loss. I got a bit down on myself over my response to her Insta story from the first preview of Nye and thinking I was overreacting/reading too much into things...and then this happens.
The first thing I would say is that I agree with you that AL is making it all about her again. The post itself comes across as PR, which it likely was because Georgia also shared the same clip that day--albeit with a caption that was actually about Michael/centered on the show. And the contrast becomes even more stark when you look at this post from Caroline Sheen. Caroline is Michael's cousin and she had a small role in The Way, and her post is much more personal and essentially what you would expect from someone who is close to someone in the production. Which subsequently makes AL's post look even more like PR in comparison.
But I think what irritates me the most about Anna's post is that it's yet another instance of her making a dig at Wales. Talking of patterns as I tend to do, she did this previously in September of last year (the #FromManhattantoTonypandy hashtag), and in both of these cases it's her reminding everyone of where she lived before, and likely where she still wishes she lived. In thinking of your initial question, AL may have adjusted to Wales in some ways, but it's clearly not where she belongs or thinks she belongs. I've written previously on my blog about her likely thinking she would be living the celebrity life in New York or London, and Wales was almost certainly a place she didn't even know existed until Michael. So this entire post feels like it's tinged with passive-aggressive resentment as a result.
Let me be clear: In no way do I think that moving to a new country is an easy thing, and it is more than understandable that someone might not love every single thing about the place in which they live, especially if they are an outsider coming from a completely different culture. But the thing is, The Way is literally about Wales. It is entirely focused on Welsh identity and history, and it is a project into which Michael has poured a tremendous amount of his passion and energy and time, which speaks to what you mentioned about him talking about this since 2017.
Why, then, would you make such a snarky comment on a post promoting a show so centered on Wales? That your own partner directed, no less? At best, it comes across as thoughtless and self-centered, and at worst, as deliberately disrespectful.
I can also fully understand why Michael put out a tweet of his own promoting the second episode less than an hour after Anna posted that story. If we are to say that Georgia is a good representative for David on social media--which she arguably is, most of the time--then Anna, by contrast, is the worst possible representative for Michael. And a post like the one above only further highlights how mismatched and wrong for each other they truly are. I also think it's pained him to refrain from tweeting for this long, and now he finally has a reason to start again, for which both we and Michael can be thankful.
So yes, those are my thoughts on AL's story from earlier this week. Glad to hear from my followers as well about your reactions to this. Thank you for writing in! x

Klaroline WIP Wed - Stellar Flare - There's a Doctor in the House
Stellar Flare here.
First Chap 2 WIP Wed here.
“I’m Dr. Fell, by the way.” The woman said, drying her hands off at a small sink and activating the slim metal bands wrapped around her forearms. A soft sheen rippled down her arms, covering them and her hands with the displacement field that kept her hands clean from actually touching, and the patient free from contamination.
Caroline laid back on the table, the pallor in her face pronounced now under the bright exam lights. “I’m Caroline. This is Klaus.” Reaching out with one hand, she snagged the sleeve of Klaus’ jacket, holding onto him. He was going to hate to have to disappoint her.
Dr. Fell pulled a little rolling cart over with tools on it, adjusted the light on Caroline’s stomach, and picked up some scissors. Carefully she cut Caroline’s shirt off, revealing the makeshift bandage, rusty with blood, and then she cut that off too. The massive wound had bloomed to a bright red, blood flushed under the skin, the bleeding sluggish and Klaus clenched his jaw, remembering the source.
“Okay, Caroline,” the doctor said, “You’ve got some internal bleeding with this wound, so I’m going to stop that and ease the pressure on this bruise.” She sprayed a topical numbing agent across Caroline’s stomach, and Klaus watched the pronounced stiffness ease from her face.
“Doctor,” he interjected, “Which is the supply store? I need to find us both transport to Tathume.”
“Third building down to the left, but…” The doctor shook her head. “Every shuttle was taken by the mountain.” She jerked her thumb back in the direction of Tyler’s hideout with a grimace. “Only way there these days is to call a service or walk. They usually get here in about two hours.”
“I’m afraid we don’t have that kind of time.” Gently he pulled Caroline fingers from his sleeve, while she started to look mulish. “I’m going to find us a way,” he told her. “Stay here.”
“I am not luggage, you can’t just cart me and leave me,” She protested, clutching his hand.
“No, what you are is injured, and I plan to give us the best chance we have at getting out of here. ‘Alive and intact,’ remember?” He tapped the back of her hand.
“You promised,” she said softly, relaxing her grip on his hand.
“That I did.” He transferred his sharp gaze to Dr. Fell, who had been watching with a little too much interest. “She will be ready when I return in an hour.” His tone was not a suggestion, and her spine stiffened.
“I’ll do what I can, but with the bruising, I’d normally do this all at once to ease the pressure on her organs.” Her voice clearly said he should let her get to it, and Klaus smiled humorlessly.
“An hour.” With a last sweep of his thumb over the back of Caroline’s fingers, he turned and left, closing the front door behind him with a firm slap against the door panel.

I know the 2nd generation of Kennedy children (Caroline, Kerry, Maria, jfk jr, etc.) all felt some level of responsibility and pressure to meet the expectation of being a member of “Americas Royal Family” and continuing on legacies that were ended in the 60’s. While I think the 3rd generation of kennedy’s have the comfort of distance from historical moments (assassinations, presidential runs, scandals, etc.) and there being dozens of them at this point and no clear “front runners” in mass pop conscience, I do wonder if that do feel some need to hold onto, preserve, maintain the sheen and iconoclast stature of the family brand and name. No specific question but just a ramble from a follower who appreciates your blog lol!
I definitely agree with you that there was a lot of pressure on them to be great and live up to the expectation that they would work in politics or just be a public figure. I think David had talked about how he felt the pressure and spotlight, how magnified those things were when his drug problems became more noticeable he felt like a failure and he not only let his family down but the public as well. The general public knows the Schwarzenegger kids and Conor Kennedy rings a bell for some people but unless you really have done deep dives on the family most of the names aren't recognizable. Jack goes viral every few months and even though he's always asked in interview if he's going into politics I don't think there's a pressure there. I do think they feel the need to keep the image up I mean whenever a "scandal" happens in the family it's always in the news in some way.
A bit of a side note but I find it interesting how people categorize the generations because I consider Joe and Rose to be first gen, their kids to be the second, the grandkids to be third and the great grandkids to be fourth, there's no right or wrong just a thing I noticed lol.

Bonnie’s Horror-ific October
↳ Day Fifteen: Burn the Undead
(this story is related to the In the End verse that I used to write)
They spend the day building the funeral pyre.  The work is quiet, methodical.  Every now and then their eyes meet and the reality of the situation threatens to bubble to the surface.
But they manage to tap it back down.
Do the right thing.
Finally, covered in a sheen of dirt and sweat, Bonnie steps back and looks at their creation.  It is simple, effective --- it will do the job it is intended to do.  Now that is completed and she can see it for what it is, she can no longer hold back the pain.
Her hand comes to her mouth to stifle the sob but the sound still leaks through.  She is about to double over in pain when she feels his arms around her waist, an anchor to keep her from complete collapse.  She wishes that she could consider this moment from the surface --- Klaus Mikaelson is offering her comfort, Klaus Mikaelson of all people.
But in the end, she knows that without him she cannot go on.  He has been her constant, her rock through this all.  And he is about to stand by her through one of the most horrific moments she has ever had to experience.
Dusk settles before they catch sight of the lone figure.  It walks towards them, the path winding and movements jerky.  Bonnie takes a deep breath and steels herself.  With each step closer, she tells herself that this is what has to be done.  No one should have to exist that way.  Especially not her.
Finally she is there, staring down the pair of them through cloudy eyes.  There is dried blood and viscera on her rotted skin.  She snarls and then lunges at them.  Klaus is quicker, delivering the gift of true death as Bonnie closes her eyes.
She does not think as they work together to place the remains on the pyre.  She does not consider what she is doing as she calls forth her magic and uses it to spark the wood to life.  It is only when she watches the flames consume the flesh that she understands it properly.
And finally says what she had not gotten to say months ago when this mess had all begun.
“Goodbye, Caroline.”
