What kills me about Uncle Colm is that he sometimes really does have something interesting to say, he just takes forever to get there and makes it as boring as possible along the way
i find it so cute when the 5 called uncle colm to the investigation & when their plan succeeded, they all celebrated him & he was smiling saying, "any time, weans! any time at all!" :)
Once again thinking about that fic idea I had AGES ago about Pennywise from It appearing in Derry, Ireland instead of Derry, Maine. I need Michelle to Moltov cocktail him with alcohol no one knew she had on her. I need Erin trying to make a really bad poetic connection between the monster and the English. I need the clown trying miserably to find something that would actually scare Orla.
Most importantly, I need the fic to end with a long winded story from Colm no one's listening to until he mentions having defeated It in his youth and everyone going fucking insane.
I just finished watching Derry Girls and I can honestly say I think it's one of the greatest shows ever. No, fr. The jokes, the sad moments, the songs, the all the wonders of the teen show in the 90s and the overall vibe.. like it's just 20/10. I am literally so amazed. I cried my eyes out at the ending because it was so good and hopeful and happy and amazing and immaculate.
that scene of colm in the first episode made me SO happy. i enjoy colm very highly so im so happy he got such a happy scene. colm deserves the appreciation. he deserves all the love.
I love how uncle Colm's stories are usually actually eventful and interesting but he always focuses on the most boring aspect of it: when he tells the story about the bride being blown in the air he focuses on the wind and how he feels about the wind in general; when he tells the story about a guy from Ballynahinch choking to death on a boiled sweet he focuses on what flavor it was or wasn't; when he recounts the events of armed men breaking into his house and tying him to the radiator with his own shoelaces he focuses on the shoelaces and so on.
