I watched the first episode of Sonic Prime! It was good! Here are my impromptu thoughts after watching it copied verbatim from a Twitter thread:

animation's great and helps give sonic in particular a lot of personality

i like that they're leaning into the classic environmentalist themes slightly more

i like the interactions between sonic and "nine"

it's VERY annoying how long sonic spends going "gee, everything is different, but the same! what's going on??" like. why does he have to take so long to figure out it's a different universe. i know this is written for kids but it's 2022, everything's a multiverse

i get they can only model so many sets but everyone living in green hill is kinda lame if this is supposed to be canon. also leads to lots of repetitive lines about "where's all the palm trees?" because sonic's only frame of reference for his universe is apparently green hill

the new high-tech shoes and gloves feel overdesigned and clash with the classic, silly rubberiness of the animation

most of the new voice cast is good. tails sounding like rainbow dash/blythe baxter is distracting, but "nine" (dystopia tails) has a more distinct delivery

rouge seems fun in this and i'm glad they gave her an actual reason to be there

on the other hand knuckles' presence is given no explanation (that i've seen, anyway). why is sega so stingy about letting him leave angel island in the comics and ONLY the comics!!!!!!!!

anyway yeah it's fun so far, i like it, excited to watch more but i'm gonna take my time with it instead of binging all at once

Basically there is this user, whom I will obviously not name, who doesn’t like me to put it mildly and they blocked me. Absolutely fair, we have all the right to block other people.

This person then felt the urge to complain on their blog about me and announce publicly that they blocked me. Obviously they didn’t make my name, but it was clear that they were talking about me. Then, they felt the urge to run to Twitter to complain again and saying that

The self entitlment is astounding

And

It's okay to be proud of your work but user does it as if it's god's gift to poor mortals

These descriptions of me were so iconic that I needed to add them to my bio.

But this wild story, incredibly, doesn’t end here.

Some anons asked this user about the situation, and they said that I never criticized them personally, but they felt offended by my "anti posts" which... don't exist. Look up my blog, I never wrote an anti post because I don’t want the haters raiding my blog, what happened was that other anons passed by saying "I hate XYZ" and I agreed and doubled down on why I hated them too, but I never wrote an anti post out of the blue.

The only post about a character I ever worte was the one about the criminal treatment of Cecily in TLH, which is a post to defend a character I love, not to attack one I hate.

In another ask they said that they reacted this way because they had a similar experience in another fandom, where people were like "If you like this character/ship then you’re a bad person". And I'm like... when did I ever say something like that? Literally never. I never attacked anyone personally because they like this or that character or ship, because it's something childish and I passed 13 many years ago.

(Guess who does that instead? Yes, Grace haters.)

But it’s not over yet.

This user came back on Twitter and complained about explosing themselves too much. For a situation that they created.

It's so surral that I can barely believe what’s happening, but I'm not going to do anything about it if not updating my bio.

The fact that they felt the urge to complain about it on 2 different social medias tells more about them than it will ever tell about me.

My papers for GRS Montreal are sent in and ready to be processed 💜🤍💚

It's a popular program so I'm not expecting to have surgery any earlier than September 2024. The wait is going to suck, but it'll be worth it. Plus, it gives me a good long time to put some money away - the flight and the hotel stay is not gonna be cheap!

I asked for a copy of the letter for my records. Reading it is such a surreal experience. Reading a transcription of my feelings in someone else's voice is so strangely affirming. I feel believed and listened to, like I'm finally accepting that I'm not a cis person playing at being trans.

As an example of what I mean, here's a line verbatim from the letter:

Confidently has known he wants a vagina for many years - when he found it was an option for him he knew this was right.

I've mentioned lots of times here and on Twitter that I felt this way, but reading it in black and white like that.... I dunno, it just hits different. It's hard to articulate why.

Next week I'll be phoning GRS Montreal to see if I can't get a more accurate timeframe, and to figure out what more I have to do to get ready. But today? Today I'm gonna have brunch and then take a nap, because lord only knows I have earned at least that much by this point 🤪

i've been thinking about it a lot and honestly, i think i might just be gay and not bisexual? which is deeply, truly unfortunate wrt the relationship situation because i really do care about my girlfriend but i've found that femininity is just... not doing it for me. i think i've mixed admiration up with attraction because she is, objectively, a very cool and kind person (this has happened before) and wrt my identity regardless of my relationships like... i think identifying as bisexual for so long has been nothing but another desperate grab at some sense of like. palatability and "validity" for lack of a better word for it. logically i know you can be gay and trans but it's really hard to wrap my head around the idea that i can do that, even nearing eight years identifying as a man.

So the months of May-mid June were my 👌peak👌 of Rowan and Basil content, I would just talk on Twitter nonstop about them and my followers and mutuals had to sadly witness it all

I just went kwazy again now with the addition of @/strange_fl0wer's Stranger as a big brother figure to them. Here, have some doodles on them!

Like with the conception of Rowan I didn't think too much of his concept and identity yet except for the fact that he'd be the older brother to the twins

As much as I love to use 'Stranger' I think my mind really wanted to come up with another name for him especially with this human/non-cryptid version, and I just came across some tweet on how he would go under the name Sage in the real world and my gOD it clicked on me so fast you wouldn't know

I’ve started working in social media and one thing I’ve found, as someone with Severe Depression, is how often the twitter users with self-proclaimed mental health problems are the absolute nastiest to me all day. 

I know (god how I know) that experiencing mental health problems can turn your perspective inward and make it difficult to relate to others, but please try to handle your mental health problems rather than become a mental health problem. 

It’s reached the point where if someone comes through with bio lines like:

  neurodivergent, doing my best! <3 peace and blessings Depression and Anxiety, Always Remember to Be Kind Fighting through the stigma, one day at a time, healing myself and others

I know I’m about to be ripped to pieces no matter what I try to do to help. (Those are made-up bios btw, not copied verbatim from Twitter from real people)

Maybe just don’t make such fluffy ‘love everybody’ bios if you’re going to be a cunt on main.
