a/n : i hate this, i’m so sorry this took me all of 15 minutes but i needed to post something !!!!! maybe ill make a better version sometime, stay tuned <3 requests open btw (not proofread not proofread ignore any mistakes lovely)

- you’re his saviour

- you know the saying, ‘when you’re lost in the darkness, look for the light?’

- you’re his light

- if he’s having a bad day or his parents have kicked him out again, guess who he’s going to?

- not even to talk about it, just to be surrounded by this warmth that makes him forget about all his problems

- unlike dallas, he loves hugs and cuddling all. the. time.

- well, that’s a bit of an exaggeration. he hates cuddling in front of the gang. the gang will just tease him but his relationship with you is something he doesn’t wanna be teased about

- he doesn’t like big gestures

- he’s not the type to write you a poem (ponyboy cough cough) and he’s not the type to buy you cliche gifts like chocolate and flowers

- he does things that mean something, like a necklace with your favourite flower on it, a shirt of a band you two like listening to together

- one of his favourite pastimes is listening to music w you actually!

- i like to think johnny really likes music, like elvis and van morrison

- he’ll always buy new cassettes to listen to with you

- he wishes he could take you to concerts, but he’s too broke for that :(

- ugh i should probably move on but imagine spooning with johnny on your bed listening to music that’s adorable

- if he sees you laughing with a guy he doesn’t know or trust, he’ll feel a mix of jealous and insecure

- he doesn’t act on his jealousy, he just patiently waits until it’s his turn to talk to you

- if you bring up that he’s acting up, he’s not gonna talk about it, denying it

- “nah man idk what you mean, im fine”

- you guys argue occasionally, but only about things that really matter

- he doesn’t want you talking to socs, or you don’t want him to live with his parents anymore

- it’s a reasonable and patient conversation over an argument in his mind

- he has never made you cry and never will, or else he’ll cry

- sitting in the lot gazing up at the stars is his idea of a date. pointing out the moon and making a wish on the first star. smoking cigarettes and sitting back on the cheap fabric of some old thrown-out furniture

- him wrapping his arm around your shoulder and pulling you closer to him, the two of you falling asleep under the stars

- sometimes you’ll catch him just staring at you. not in a creepy or weird way, just admiring.

- noticing his shoulders relax when he’s in a poor mood but then suddenly you come around is your favourite feeling

- he makes you feel so special, like you’re worth a million bucks

- he practically worships the ground you walk on (and vice versa!)

- puppy love

- you two like each other soooo much and it’s so obvious

- sometimes he gets a little insecure around the gang or socs, not being all mushy (not like he usually is anyway)

- he’s usually more reserved, saving the cuddling and gifts for alone time

- anyway you two are in love probably and it’s really cute

whenever you give him physical affection it hits him hard because this poor boy is so, so touch starved.

if you cupped his cheek then he would melt. literally turn into putty in your hands .

always sleeps over at your house. just enters through your window and immediately flops down on your bed, asking you to lay down with him .

if you gave him anything, like some flowers or just a pack of cigs, he would turn red and treasure it forever. he’s kept everything you’ve given him

before you guys actually started dating, ponyboy was his wingman. pony thinks the reason you guys finally got together was all because of him.

would get jealous, but would keep it to himself and be upset rather than mad. when you ask why he’s upset he answers,

- He 100% has a gluten allergy or is lactose intolerant

-Trips up the stairs

Sodapop Curtis

-Rip Soda you would have loved Takis 😞

-He can’t add anything past 7+4 without using his hands.

Darry Curtis

-Makes one of those huge, itemized shopping lists.

DATING JOHNNY CADE HEADCANONS!

you would always have to be the one to make the first move/ask him out, no matter how much he is interested in you.

tries to write you letters, but it's hard for him due to his lack of adequate writing and reading comprehension; but, he tries so hard, and will even go to ponyboy for extra help with writing.

picks flowers for you, since he doesn't have enough money to buy them for you -- and sometimes dallas will steal things for johnny to give to you.

the gang was incredibly suspicious of you at first, and all of them thought you were a cunning, troublesome person (other than ponyboy and possibly sodapop). eventually they softened up to you when they saw how much you cared for johnny and how much johnny cared for you!

he loves nothing more than when you two are gazing at the stars in the lot, in complete silence.

when you two hangout, it’s extremely quiet, yet you feel more 1,000x more connected with him in those moments compared to usual.

he doesn’t like to go out in public with you in fear that you might get jumped alongside/due to him, and if that were to ever happen he wouldn’t be able to live with himself.

(tried to make it gender neutral of my best ability, but it’s hard to fit phrases like “ queen bee” into gender neutral terms)

- he was terrified of you when you were first introduced

- dallas had introduced you two, he knew you from one of buck’s parties

- he takes quite a while to warm up to someone, and especially with someone dressed as ‘grungy’ as you

- you didn’t take it personally!

- you really wanted to be friends with him, but he was just intimidated by you

- after a little while he warmed up to you, treating you more like a friend than someone he’s intimidated by

- and eventually a bit more than a friend…

- he found himself thinking you’re kind of cute!

- you two went on a walk in the park for your first date (your idea!)

- he would never be one to judge people on style, but he did have to get over the original shock factor because people usually aren’t brave enough to dress a bit more ‘out there’ in the 60s

- your leather jacket is his absolute favourite

A/N: So these came out as pretty gender-neutral and they’re super late, but I hope you don’t mind Roller! I had fun writing these, enjoy reading them!

DARRY CURTIS

Darry thinks it’s totally cool that you’re into cars, he’s super supportive of you and your interests

It’s not odd for him to come home and you’re out in the driveway, sprawled underneath the old Ford, surrounded by tools

As much as he loves and supports your love of cars, your racing gets to him sometimes, it’s been the cause of a few fights between the two of you

Darry just doesn’t want to see you hurt, okay?

He’s seen what can happen at the races, has seen cars flip and crash and catch fire as they roll over; it scares him, it terrifies him that it’s going to happen to you

But the look on your face when you win one of your races and you wrap him in a tight hug, still in your racing overalls, it makes him worry just a little less

SODAPOP CURTIS

Sodapop is going to be your biggest supporter, he really just likes liking the same things you like

If you want to talk about cars? Please do, Soda is all ears and will ask all the right questions at all the right times

Car shows! Soda likes walking around car shows with you, holding your hand as you wander throughout the lines of cars

He’s actually really good about remembering everything you tell him about the cars too! Steve’s quite impressed when he starts rattling off car parts and helping him out in the garage

Speaking of the garage, you most definitely work at the DX, you’re out in the garage, working on all the cars

Since he’s started dating you, Soda’s been out in the garage a lot more too, helping out with the cars but more so just hanging around the ones you’re working on

PONYBOY CURTIS

So, quick age thing, when you guys are book canon ages, you’re not racing because you are way too young to be behind safely the wheel of a race car

But, age jump to where you guys are a little older and you’re racing, Pony comes to all of your races

He’s always on the sides or down in your pit so he can watch you race and make sure nothing happens to you, plus, he likes sitting in the pits and drawing you and your car

There’s a lot of drawings of you in your race suit, Ponyboy loves, loves, loves the way you look in it

Back to regular ages now! Lots of car shows for the two of you and just going to the races to watch everyone else run

Pony wants to learn, he’s willing to listen to whatever you want to tell him about the cars but they aren’t really his thing and I can guarantee you, he won’t remember much

DALLAS WINSTON

The first thing he asks when he learns about your love of cars is whether or not you know how to hotwire a car

And, of course, you know how to hotwire a car, it’s really not as hard as it seems, especially with the old cars’ simple systems

He likes to hang around the track when you race, but don’t think for one second he’s on your pit crew or has any say in what happens to your car

I swear to you on my life dear friends, Dally has practically no understanding of how cars work

He acts like he does and will talk circles of nonsense around whoever brought up cars but in actuality, this man can’t tell the difference between the radiator and the oil filter

So yeah, Dally loves that you love cars but don’t expect him to understand anything about cars unless you’re willing to explain what’s what to our dear greaser

JOHNNY CADE

Like with Pony, canon age-wise, you’re most likely not old enough to safely be behind the wheel of a race car on a dirt track

So, ignore ages for a second, we’ll talk about racing; Johnny really doesn’t enjoy hanging around the race track but it has nothing to do with you

It’s just sort of sensory overload? He doesn’t like how loud it can get with all the screaming and yelling the and engines-

But when you get back from winning a race, Johnny wants to do anything and everything to celebrate your accomplishment, it doesn’t matter how many times you win, he wants to celebrate

Shifting back to canon ages, there are a lot of late-night conversations in the lot about cars, lots of staying up late and watching the stars while you talk about cars

Johnny’s very good at remembering everything you tell him about cars, he holds on to the knowledge he gets from you and you’re a little surprised when you find him holding his own in a discussion about cars with Steve

TWO-BIT MATHEWS

Two-Bit is knowledgeable enough about cars to the point where he’s practically self-sufficient and can take care of his car on his own, he can change his own oil and stuff but he’s not overly obsessed with cars

So when he met you and realized how much you were into cars, he tried to play up what he knew, pretending he knew what he was talking about until you called him out on something he had said wrong

But lucky for him, you thought he was cute and invited him to come watch you race the weekend after

Two-Bit has no problem walking around car shows with you all day, having you tucked into his side as you wander through the lots, looking at all the cars, he actually has a lot of fun going!

If you value your racing career, don’t let Two-Bit into your pit area, it’s really not a great decision

He will stir up trouble with the other crews and mess around with the tools and it’s honestly like he needs a babysitter and you’re better off by having him out in the stands

STEVE RANDLE

You and Steve are a match made in heaven, honestly you guys are perfect for each other, both of you are in love with cars and can drive practically anything that has wheels on it

He probably met you at one of your races! He liked going to the races anyway but was super pleased to see your pretty face sitting behind one of the cars

Your first date was a drag race <3 y’all had an absolute blast and little do you know, Steve keeps the tickets from the race in his wallet as a reminder of your day

You guys argue over cars all the time, all the time, and over the silliest things too, like which paint job looks better or which parts are better for your cars

He’s so very enamored by your racing, you’re the best racer he’s ever seen, no matter how badly you may drive, he could spend all day just watching you do laps around a track

Steve’s pretty much your pit crew when you do race, he’s the only one he trusts, other than you of course, to work on your car

TIM SHEPARD

You guys met at a drag race, you had a friend racing or something and Tim’s boys were messing with them but Tim put a stop to that as soon as he saw your pretty face step up to help out your friend

Tim likes being there for your races but he’d rather watch from the stands and stuff rather than the pits

He won’t admit it, but it stresses him out to be in the pit, things move so fast and he likes being on the outside

Please don’t ever wreck your car while you’re racing, for your sake and for Tim’s, don’t ever get hurt or hurt the car because Tim gets so worried over your safety when you race

Curly and Angela come to your races sometimes too! You manage to convince Tim to bring them down into the pits that time, they like being in the pits more than he does

If Tim ever has car problems, he’s going straight to you before anyone else because you let him pay you in kisses, which is much better than paying in cash in Tim’s opinion

CURLY SHEPARD

Thinks you’re literally so cool? It’s not often to see someone as pretty as you invested in cars as much as you are

If you race? Later down the road, the age thing again, Curly’s at every race he can make it to, chilling out with you in your pit or out in the stands watching you race

So many kisses when you win, he’ll pick you up and spin you around with the biggest smile on his face like he was the one who just drove the car and won the medal/trophy

Curly has definitely gotten kicked out of some of your races before for starting trouble

You guys go to a lot of drag races, that’s pretty much your go-to date for a Friday or Saturday night if the two of you don’t end up going to the diner or the drive-in for a date

Has a lot of second-hand car knowledge from you so he’s always trying to show off how much he knows to everyone else and you’re at his side, rolling your eyes because you taught him that
