Special message for white writers and readers of fanfiction:
You do not define how fanfiction operates for fandoms. Therefore, you do not get to be hypercritical of bipoc writers. We are allowed to tell stories through the lens of a minority with common tropes just like you are allowed to do the same from the perspective of a white person with those same tropes.
It hasn’t happened to me (yet) but, I’ve seen my mutuals— who happen to also be bipoc writers— receive anonymous inboxes of people being “curious” as to why my friends are putting out the same content. From executing a slow burn fic with an interracial pairing to adding an aspect that is not a part of the original storyline, my friends have had to deal with your hypocrisy almost everyday. Stop it.
Underrepresented writers are not obligated to excel high standards for you all. Just because we may be different in complexion does not mean we have to bend over backwards in creating “unique” stories.
This goes for any other form of entertainment. I’m talking shows like Never Have I Ever or films like Moana. Do not describe fine art catered to us as “cringe” or “not good.” Best believe if those works were produced from the hands of a white man, you would be giving them all your money just to continue seeing white people in the media everyday as the heroes.
Thank you and hope you’ve learned something today/this evening.💕

I Think He Knows
pairing - Drew Starkey x Reader
summary-  a game of truth or dare unlocks the secret relationship between y/n and drew...
word count- 1036.
warning(s)- swearing? Talk of hand fetishes and choking lol.
Another taylor song fic lol, what’s new?
-----------------------------
A long night of laughing, dancing, and goofing off with your friends had boiled down to a game of truth or dare. Childish, but fun. Everyone had done their fair share of crazy things so finally, you decided you’d choose truth.
“Ok… have you ever written a song about one of us? If so, play it!” Chase asked and you felt the heat rush to your cheeks.
You had written quite a few songs about one of them in particular… Drew. You guys had been dating behind everyone backs for a while now, and you being the total songwriting freak you are, had written multiple songs about him and the encounters you’ve shared together.
You racked your brain, trying to think of a song that wouldn’t give too much away...
“Uh, yeah I have actually! Uh… do I really have to play it?” You asked, avoiding Drew’s blue eyes staring at you from across the room. Everyone agreed that you did in fact have to play it and you sighed, getting up to grab your guitar.
“Uhm, ok. Here goes nothing… it’s called I Think He Knows…” You said and started strumming the chords. Everyone waited in anticipation, already trying to debunk who the song was about. You could practically feel the smirk forming on Drew’s face as he sat there, waiting for you to play the song as well.
“I think he knows his footprints on the sidewalk, lead to where I can’ stop. Go there every night. I think he knows his hands round a cold glass make me wanna know that body like it’s mine.” Your eyes scanned over the group of friends sitting around you, the pick you were holding brushing against the strings.
“He got that boyish look that I like in a man, I am an architect I’m drawing up the plans, It’s like I’m 17, nobody understands. No one understands.” Cline’s eyes had widened as she began to put together who the song could be about. Your character in the show was the same age as Drew’s, but you had a line that went “I feel like I’m 17, dealing with all this dumbass drama.”
“He’s got my heartbeat skipping down 16th avenue. Got that, oh! I mean, wanna see what’s under that attitude. Like, I want you, bless my soul. I ain’t gotta tell him. I think he knows.”
You finally caught your boy’s eye as you sang the second verse, Bailey followed your gaze and realized who you were looking at. Everyone else was watching you play guitar, not paying any attention to who you were looking at.
“Lyrical smile, indigo eyes, hand on my thigh, we can follow the sparks, I’ll drive. Lyrical smile, indigo eyes, hand on my thigh, we can follow the sparks, I’ll drive. So where we gonna go, I whisper in the dark. Where we gonna go? I think he knows.”
The smile on Drew’s face was nothing close to subtle. Everyone looked around the room as the song came to an end. They all looked at each other as if to ask “is it about you?” When they all realized it wasn’t them the song was about they looked at Drew, who was already looking at you. It finally clicked for them.
“I knew it…” Cline said lightly before springing up from her seat excitedly. “You and Drew! I fucking knew it!”  The blush on your face grew at her confession and he laughed.
“It took you long enough! We weren’t exactly subtle about it guys….” Drew said and you laughed. He came over to sit next to you on the floor and you happily accepted being pulled into his arms. He quickly placed a kiss on the top of your head as you snuggled into his chest.
They all had their mouths wide open in shock, which made you giggle a little harder than before.
“Yeah, I mean y/n literally put lines from the show in that song! It’s like I’m 17, He’s so obsessed with me and boy I understand. She was practically screaming it at you guys.” He continued. Chase and Rudy were the first to start bombarding you with questions.
“How did you hide this from us for so long?”
“Why did you hide it?”
“Does anyone else know?”
“When were you planning on telling us?”
“How did it happen?”
“Guys, guys calm down! It’s been almost 8 months at this point… our moms know, and it happened after a scene we did together.” You said, stopping them from asking you anything else. JD reached up and flicked your arm, making you look over at him with a glare.
“We need more detail than “it happened after a scene!”, that’s too vague.” He whined and you laughed. Drew lightly brushed his fingers across your hip, his arms wrapped tightly around you now.
“I’d had my eye on her since auditions, and there was always this tension between us. Then one day I approached her and we talked, went on a few dates, and here we are.” Drew explained and you rolled your eyes playfully at how nonchalant he was.
“Well, I love the song and the fact that you guys are together! Y/n, you really know how to write a hit! Also, this just furthers my theory that you have a hand fetish…” Chase laughed and you blushed, hiding your face in Drew’s chest. It had become a running joke (that honestly wasn’t really a joke, because you did, in fact, think your boyfriend’s hand were sexy) that you had a total hand fetish after pointing out guy’s hands to Chase many times.
“Yeah, I think we all know that y/n would let Drew choke her out.” Rudy said. You choked on your own breath and you felt Drew do the same as everyone laughed.
“Shut the fuck up!” You said and Rudy only laughed harder.
“Y/n’s sitting over here like “I want Drew to choke me but I think he knows…”” Bailey said and you shook your head. They all kept laughing, and you eventually did too.
It felt good that they finally know the secret you’d been hiding for so long.

night swims // ks

word count; 2k

Tumblr media
your dress clung to your hips, a sight that you loved at the beginning of the night and dreaded now. your leg poked out of the slit that was higher now that you were sitting. the corsage on your wrist was on its last leg, the flowers wilting and the piece around your wrist looser than it had been just an hour before.
your hand gripped the neck of the bottle you held, the cap lost somewhere in the sand beside you. your mind was hazy, but you forced yourself to focus on the sound of the waves crashing a few yards in front of you.
you didn’t know how long you’d been sitting in the sand at this point, but you knew that you had emptied more than a quarter of the bottle into your stomach.
you knew it was too good to be true when the boy you’d had a crush on for months asked you to prom. though it wasn’t exactly everything you’d dreamed it would be, just a simple question while you stood at your locker after biology, you said yes.
he seemed so genuine, and he was drop dead gorgeous, so you accepted his offer. you coordinated your dress to match his tie and pocket square, opting to buy a dress with a high slit to show off for the boy.
you shouldn’t have been surprised when it took him less than fifteen minutes to ditch you once you got to the venue. no matter how much you wanted to tell yourself that you expected to be ditched, you didn’t expect to find him shacked up in a bathroom stall with a girl you didn’t even know the name of. you’d spent less than thirty minutes at the dance, slipping your shoes off and grabbing the side of your dress before walking back home.
your focus on the ocean in front of you was broken as you saw a beam of light on the sand between you and the water. you followed the trail of light and smiled at the sight of your best friend walking towards you with a bag slung over his shoulder.
he was still wearing his suit that he’d picked out for the night. the bowtie that was tied the last time you saw him had been undone, the pieces resting against his shirt. the first two buttons were popped open, and his jacket was in his hand as his shoes left distinct prints in the sand.
the sight of kelce walked down the beach towards you brought you a sense of comfort. you’d spent many nights on this beach by yourself until the sun set and kelce set out to find you. he knew he could always find you here, sand between your toes and hair pulled out of your face while you listened to the sounds that the ocean made.
“prom sure looks different than they make it seem in the movies, huh?” you laughed gently at the joke, watching his lips turn up as the sound reached his ears.
“what’s all that?” your eyes fell to the bag in his hand as he closed in on you, dropping to sit beside you in the sand once he got close enough.
“a care package.” he bumped your shoulder with his own, earning a soft smack to his bicep before he ripped the bag open. “a bottle of water, because i know you didn’t grab any when you grabbed that,” he pointed to the bottle in your hand, his attention fixed on how much was left.
“water slows down the process, kelce.” he rolled his eyes at you but continued his sifting through the bag in his lap.
“one of my hoodies, because i know you’re going to get cold and your hatred for suit jackets is stronger than your desire to be warm.” you laughed softly and laid your head on his shoulder, eyes fixed on his hands working through the contents of the bag.
“two joints that rafe so graciously rolled for me, a lighter for said joints, and-” he paused, hand digging to the bottom of the bag before ripping out a slightly dented styrofoam container. “a stolen piece of chocolate cake.”
you gasped softly, looking up at the boy beside you with a wide smile as your eyes glazed over. he laughed gently and wrapped an arm around you after you took the container from him. he pulled you closer to him, kissing the side of your head as you started taking small bites out of the slice of cake with the fork he snuck into the container.
“logan’s an idiot.” he whispered softly, feeling you relax into him.
“i should’ve seen it coming.” you shrugged gently, reaching for the bottle that sat in the sand beside you. you tipped it back, throwing the liquid down your throat before offering the bottle to kelce who sighed but took a swig anyways.
you shared the piece of cake, though kelce let you eat a majority of it. he knew how much you loved the dessert, and that was the only reason why he snuck a piece out of the venue hosting the dance. you passed the bottle back and forth until both of you were laughing too hard at the memories you both threw out.
you had been laughing at something that kelce brought up, reminiscing on the memory from fourth grade before a though entered your mind. your laughter died down, a sickening feeling twisting in your stomach. the bottle and styrofoam container had been shoved to the side at this point, your focus solely on the boy who sat beside you.
“why’d you come here?” you asked gently, watching the boy look down at you with a steady gaze. any ounce of a smile or laughter had faded, his gaze strong and set on you. “you got monica o’leary to go to this prom with you, why aren’t you sharing cake and alcohol with her?”
kelce smiled gently then, one of his hands reaching up to cradle your face in it, his thumb stroking your cheek softly. his smile grew at the sight of you turning into his touch, your senses overridden by the boy who you’d known for as long as you could remember.
“why would i want to do any of that with monica o’leary when my best girl was sitting on the beach by herself?” he shrugged slowly, offering you a smile while he watched your eyes trail his face in their glossy glory.
your head snapped over to the ocean at the sound of a loud wave crashing. you watched the water move freely, not noticing the way kelce was smiling widely at the sight of you. he loved seeing you like this, your guard down as you took in the events around you. the beach was your happy place, and if you were happy, kelce was happy.
you smiled widely, placing your hands firm into the sand and pushing yourself up onto your feet. you wobbled a little, laughing when kelce grabbed your hips in an attempt to steady you.
“what are you doing?” he asked through a laugh, watching you giggle to yourself as you stuck your arms out in an attempt to gain some balance in the uneven sand.
“i want to go swimming.” kelce laughed again, half expecting you to be joking.
but then you grabbed his hands and did your best to pull him up to his feet, only doing an ounce of the work. you turned so your back was towards him, moving our hair to the side as you asked if he could unzip your dress for you.
kelce’s breath caught in his throat, his muscles tensing at the simple question paired with an innocent look in your eyes. you didn’t think much of it, but kelce’s fingers were shaking when he reached for the small zipper.
he worked slowly, planning on blaming the alcohol in his veins if you asked, but you never did. you felt goosebumps raise on your skin at the feeling of kelce unzipping the material, planning on blaming the chill in the air if he asked, but he never did.
kelce moved the thin straps down your shoulder, leaving a fire in the wake of the trail his fingers made across your skin. the dress fell to your feet, leaving you in the lingerie you had hidden underneath the dress moments ago. kelce had only ever seen you like this a few times, sometimes by accident and some times when he’d help you change after a long night of drinking.
it was the first time he felt like he was allowed to look long enough to drink you in. though you showed a comparable amount of skin in a bikini, it felt different for kelce. seeing you in a lacy pair of panties that contrasted against your skin beautifully made his mind race, his head slightly dizzy as his eyes raked up and down your figure.
you looked over your shoulder at the boy, smiling softly at the sight of him staring at you, lips parted and eyes glazed over. the sight brought a warmth to your stomach that you’d found yourself feeling around kelce more and more within the past few months.
kelce swallowed, trying to rid himself of the many thoughts that were passing through his head before he met your eyes once again. his eyes dropped to your lips for a moment, snapping back up to yours before you could register the look he sent you. you smiled, a large and genuine, slightly alcohol induced, smile that brought a similar one to kelce’s lips.
you let out a soft laugh before turning on the balls of your feet and taking off towards the water. kelce laughed at the sight of you, fingers working quickly on the buttons on his shirt. a pile of clothes sat in the sand as he followed behind you, eyes never leaving you to make sure you didn’t go out too far.
you gasped at the feeling of hands on your waist, being lifted off of your feet and spun around in the water while you laughed loudly. you wrapped your arms around kelce when he threatened to drop you, clinging to him as you squealed in surprise. his chest was vibrating with laughter, his arms secured around your waist as he held you close to him.
the water reached his waist, landing slightly higher on your body due to the height difference. his hands were on your back, creating a warmth that contrasted the cool water still surrounding you. your eyes locked, both of you panting softly, fully aware of how close the two of you were.
“kelce.” you whispered softly, looking up at the boy that was staring at your lips, watching you smile at the sight.
he hummed softly, looking back up at your eyes for a moment before his gaze fell back down to your lips.
“kiss me.” he looked back up at your eyes again, confusion setting into his expression as he wondered if he heard you correctly. you nodded softly, smiling when one of his hands moved to your cheek.
he brought you closer, leaning down to meet you halfway before pressing his lips against yours firmly. his lips were soft, erupting a feeling in your stomach that you had never felt before. you hooked an arm around his neck, pushing yourself onto your toes to get closer to him, if that was even possible.
neither of you rushed through it, spending every second drinking in the feeling of having the other pressed against you. you were both painfully aware of the situation you were in, and though the thought of what this meant was poking at the back of your mind, you couldn’t bring yourself to care with kelce’s lips pressed against yours.
you completely melted into him, thankful for his hand pressed against your back, convinced that was the only reason you were still standing. you felt yourself start to smile, almost whining when kelce pulled his lips off of yours.
he pressed his forehead against yours, soft pants passing his lips. he smiled then, letting out a soft laugh at the situation at hand.
“i should’ve done that years ago.” he spoke softly, not aware of the butterflies flying around in your stomach.
“you should do it again.”
he didn’t have to be told twice.

Total Eclipse of the Heart
Kelce x Reader, Topper x Reader
“It would be a privilege to have my heart broken by you,” the male protagonist in the movie told the female lead. You wanted to throw your laptop on the floor as you laughed, “ha!” As if he can hear you, “what a fool.” As if you can save him.

Warnings: Cursing, drinking, CHEATING, slight smut if you squint, hint at a fight (so blood), vomiting, this is a cheating/break up fic., it’s angst
A/N: I’ve been working on this fic for almost a month now and I’m so glad that I’m finally getting this to you all. Thank you for being patient. A special thank you to @tomfreakinghollandneedsaoscar @millyelliot and @rafecameron for listening to me talk about this almost every single day for that long and every single thanks to Chloe, @rafecameron for helping me edit this document 22 pages document. You are a blessing. Without further ado, please, enjoy.
Heartbreak is something you’ve become very accustomed to these past three months. It all started when Kelce, your boyfriend of seven years, had started coming home later than usual. Which, to be fair, you didn’t think much of at first because there are endless possibilities for why he was late for dinners that he had never missed before. Maybe he was talking with his coworkers after work, you offered, or maybe he had extra work to do. Though there were feelings of speculation in the pit of your stomach when he’d come home and not even look at you before rushing into the shower. That was also new. Yet you made excuses for him then, too. Actually, forcing yourself to be grateful that maybe he wanted to clean himself up for you. Even though your armor was cracking, you believed yourself every time.
One morning though, he was in such a rush to leave to work that he had forgotten his phone at home. Being the good fiancée that you were, you had decided that maybe this rut that you’ve hit in this relationship was somehow your fault. You had begun doing a lot less for him so you couldn’t fully put the blame on him, you thought. One of the things you never did anymore was pack his lunch. So, since you’re dropping off his cellphone anyway, you’ve decided that you were going to pack him up lunch and made your way to your father’s company to maybe give Kelce a little of your own company.
On the way to the office, his phone started beeping, signaling the arrival of new messages. You will yourself not to look at them because that’s not you. You had never had to snoop into his private belongings before. You’d also never, ever checked his phone. But...just once maybe it wouldn’t hurt. It could’ve been something important to do with his family that maybe you’d be able to help if you got to the messages first. Yes, that’s exactly it. When you arrived at the parking lot of his workplace, you’d already talked yourself into opening the messages.
Olive Garden (4)
The screen read and your nerves washed away. He must’ve ordered lunch already since you didn’t call the office to tell him that you were coming. This is what you get for trying to surprise him, you thought, with a little laugh. Well, maybe actually you can meet up with the delivery guy and pay for his lunch, that would also be a nice thing to do. When your fingers slide on the screen to reveal the messages, you felt your breath leave your entire body. You didn’t know how long you were staring at the picture or the text, you didn’t even know when you started breathing again.
There were three pictures, they were all of the same girl. In one of them, she was standing in front of a floor to ceiling window, posing in front of it so you could only see her silhouette. The second, she was on her bed with lingerie on and her legs spread. The third, the third made you almost lose your mind— if you could even get it to come back from the shock. It was a picture of her topless in bed with Kelce’s smiling face behind her as his arms wrapped around her chest.
The text saying: This meeting suxx. I miss you, I can’t wait for this weekend xxx
You don’t remember the last time Kelce smiled that big at you. Hell, you don’t remember the last time he even wrapped his arms around you in bed. Oh, wait, no, you did, because it was just three nights ago when he told you that he loved you and that nothing was going to change how he felt. You practically had a meltdown and confronted him about not coming home on time and how he never made time for you anymore so he made sure to be home on time that night and you remember how he held your face and cuddled you after sex, telling you how he couldn’t wait to marry you.
You thought of everything at once, even though you thought of yourself last. Without even processing that you’re sat in front of his office where this woman was sending your fiancé raunchy messages, you thought about how you hoped that your father wouldn’t find out. How horrible this would look for you if your family friends were to catch wind of this. You didn’t even want to imagine your mother’s face when she finds out and she’ll tell you that she had told you so from the very beginning. That 20 was far too young to be engaged, too young to know what you wanted but you were so sure. You were so sure that you wanted Kelce and he wanted you back just as much...just not as much.
The next couple of minutes felt like a movie, where the person was drunk and the camera shot was right under their face, everything was blurry and in slow motion. You might’ve said hi to the security guard on the first floor and maybe you greeted the receptionist on the office level but your head didn’t snap back to reality until you saw Kelce in his office with that girl. Olive Garden. Pathetic, you thought to yourself. She was leaning over his arm, her tits practically in his face as if she couldn’t even act like she was showing him something on a graph instead of trying to tease him.
You forced your feet to walk into the office casually, or what you thought was casual. You could’ve burst in the office looking like a madwoman for all you knew. Once you were there, you cleared your throat, causing Kelce to jump back, flushed against his seat, and the girl to stand up straighter. The look in his eyes was wild for a split second before he composed himself again in front of you. As if you didn’t know him well enough and spend enough time with him to know when he was uncomfortable or how he would brush the palm of his hands against his shirt when he was caught doing something he wasn’t supposed to do. You walked over to his desk with a fake smile on your lips as you set the meal and his phone on his graph.
“Wha—what is this?” He stuttered as he brushed the palm of his hands against the front of his shirt. You tilted your head at him and looked to the girl beside him.
“You left your phone at home,” you began and you saw the very moment when realization had hit the girl in front of you. An assistant, you were sure, because you knew every single person in your father’s company. How could you not? You were in charge of overseeing payroll. Her face though, you did not recognize, which definitely meant she had just been hired recently. Eyes, coming back to your fiancé, you shrugged, “I thought I’d bring it over and also make some lunch for you. It’s not Olive Garden or anything but it’ll do.”
You only stayed long enough for Kelce’s eyes to go wide as he grasped what you were saying before you gave a curt smile and walked out of his office. Did you walk or rush out of the building? Why were your hands shaking so much? God, you were reacting to this as if you were going to— and then you did. You vomited all over the bushes in front of the building. Somehow convincing your stomach not to embarrass you any further, you pulled out a small napkin from your bag and wiped your mouth before dropping the tissue in the trash and making your way back to the car.
You must not embarrass your family, your mother’s voice rang in your ears, keep personal affairs personal; no one else should be around if you’re going to disagree. Maybe this was an exception though because you weren’t disagreeing. He did the unimaginable to you and you have every right to be upset, so why is your head-turning against you? At this point, you didn’t even believe your eyes anymore. Maybe she had meant to send those pictures to a different person, you bargained with yourself. That does leave the mystery of the picture of his arm around her though…but maybe it’s photoshopped. It could’ve just been a sick and unprofessional joke that they play at the office and that’s why she clamped up when you mentioned having his phone. Then again, that doesn’t explain why her name was changed in his phone contacts.
With your mind going a hundred miles per second, you almost didn’t hear the sound of hurried footsteps from the entrance of the building getting closer. As you reached your car door, a hand came from beside your head and slammed the door back shut. Without turning around, you knew who it was. His scent from the cologne that you bought him, lingered in the still air between the two of you. Kelce had you trapped between the door and himself, both of his arms on either side of your head. You didn’t want to turn around. You couldn’t face him right now without having a complete and utter meltdown but he wasn’t giving you a choice. You could feel his breath on your shoulder and the back of your neck as he leaned into your body, dropping small kisses as he whispered how much he loves you. His hands dropped to your waist, circling them around you as he hugged you, your back flushed against his front and it dulls the searing pain spreading around your heart.
“I love you. Thank you for lunch,” his words jumbled together as if he couldn’t decide which line he wanted to use first.
“Okay,” you said, as the words burned your throat on the way out. It meant a lot more to you than he could’ve known. It meant, okay, I’m going to forget about this. Okay, I love you. Okay, please don’t go back in there with her. But you didn’t utter a single word other than just…okay. You allowed Kelce to turn you around in his arms and kiss your forehead before saying he had to get back to work and that he’d see you at home. You weren’t known for causing a scene in a public place and neither was Kelce, so maybe that meant that you’d talk about this at home. Or maybe there was nothing to discuss when it came to the photos so he actually meant he’d just ‘see you at home’. So, if that’s the case, why did the picture of Kelce smiling wide behind his girl bother you so much? His girl. You wanted to scream.
The drive was long and before you even realized where you were going, you found yourself at Topper’s house. It’s kind of a sad story but because you’ve been with Kelce for so long and he’d always only hung out with his friends, they’ve kind of just become yours too. Meaning you didn’t have a lot of girlfriends or friends of your own. Though you are sure that Rafe and Topper love you equally, as you do them, you found Topper a little less intense and easier to talk to.
After knocking on his door, you found yourself feeling a little silly. You didn’t even call to see if he was home and what if he wasn’t? Would you cry to his mom instead? Would you even cry? You felt like you almost couldn’t breathe, standing there waiting for him. The shortness of your breath had now turned into you sobbing as you grabbed onto your chest, willing your heart to please stop hurting. The door had opened and you were so embarrassed to even be seen like this that you curled up with your knees on the ground, hugging your arms around your stomach as your head bowed to try and hide your face.
Strong arms quickly wrapped around you, pushing your hair back from your tear-stained face. You know this wasn’t a pretty cry, you probably had snot running down your nose and saliva coming down your mouth but you couldn’t help it. It felt like the ultimate betrayal. As if you spent years building this beautiful sandcastle and right as you’re about to present it to a judge, someone on your team had come around and knocked it down until it was just particles of sand again. The image of what it once was is the only thing you’re left within your mind.
Calm down, you tried to tell yourself but the blurred vision of the worried blonde didn’t help either. After trying to talk to you and getting no responses because honestly, you couldn’t hear him over the sound of your own hiccups, he carried you into his house, across the hall into his room, and took off your shoes before sitting you on his bed. His arms still around you until your sobs turned into sniffles.
“Please tell me what I can do to fix it or who I can hurt back,” Topper almost whispered as he placed his chin on your head, basically cradling you. Your response was just a shake of your head because he couldn’t fix it. Not unless he could go back in time and change what Kelce had done to her, and another thought had popped into your head, you didn’t want anyone else to stop Kelce but Kelce himself. You had wanted him to love you enough to not get in bed with her.
“Do I need to call Kelce?” He offered and though you know that Topper knows nothing of the situation, your body still tensed and you found yourself moving away from his lap, scooting up next to the headboard as you brought your knees in against your chest and shook your head.
Your puffy red eyes and tears stained face was enough for him to shoot a quick text for Rafe to come over instead. At this point, Topper thought the worst and he wasn’t sure he was ready to hear it but he had to ask.
“Did Kelce hurt you?”
You nodded because he did but you were coherent enough to process the words and hear an intake of Topper’s breath to look up at him and shook your head.
“Not physically,” you quickly corrected, “but I think he’s cheating on me,” you whimpered, trying not to fall apart again. You didn’t want to tell him that you were sure because technically you weren’t, you didn’t trust your eyes but a part of you knew that it was true. That was the part that was putting together all the pieces in your puzzle for the past couple of months, filling in the empty spaces where Kelce was supposed to be with that damn photo. Topper didn’t react at first, then almost looked uncomfortable as he shifted his body from the end of the bed so that he could take a look at you.
“How do you know for sure?”
And so, you told him. You told him about how Kelce was acting weird for the past couple of months and how you couldn’t place it. You told him about the texts, the pictures, and what you saw in the office. You sobbed on Topper’s bed until the tears had dried on your face and you felt like there was nothing left to give. In the midst of all your sobbing, you had somehow tangled yourself up with him. Your body was against his as he rubbed circles on your hips until you fell asleep.
Falling asleep on Topper’s bed wasn’t something that usually happened. Actually, it was never something that happened because Mrs. Thornton would’ve killed you if she saw it happened.
“A lady should never be caught lounging nor in a questionable scenario, you’d do well to remember that,” she scolded once when she caught you hanging out with the boys in her backyard with your legs draped across Kelce’s knees.
Oh, Kelce, the familiar squeeze around your heart appeared again. You felt so pathetic as you pushed the blanket off of you and planted your feet against the floor.
You shuffled your way to the kitchen, noticing that the sun had gone down so you must’ve slept the day away. You saw the fire flicker by the glass doors to the backyard and saw Topper and Rafe talking to each other, holding on to their beers loosely around the bottlenecks. You took a deep breath in and pushed open the door, the boys immediately stopped whispering to each other as you walked towards them.
“Hey, sleeping beauty,” Rafe said, eyeing you as you walked over to them. The way that they both tensed up, gave you the answer to a question you’ve yet to ask.
“How long have you known?” you asked as you sat down on the outdoor sofa across from them, tucking your legs underneath you. You haven’t felt this small, this insignificant in a while.
You watched as the boys spluttered, Topper in a coughing fit from swallowing the beer down the wrong way. They looked to each other as color rushed to both of their cheeks and honestly, you would’ve found it funny if it was any other situation but you could see their lies forming and you hated it.
“Please, just tell me. We’ve known each other since we were ten, I know when you’re lying, please. Don’t make me beg you,” your voice hoarse from crying before, and having just woken up is making it sound even worse.
Rafe sighed as he looked at Topper and then back at you, “Listen, I--,” he was cut off by a booming voice you’re way too familiar with.
Kelce’s voice was shouting your name from the front door but you knew he was making his way to the back since his cussing and mumbling became more audible. This made both boys shut up and you knew that your chance to hear their side of the story was over for tonight. You moved in your seat to bring your knees up to your chest, resting your chin at the top of your knees as you kept your eyes on the fire in front of you even as a body moved to block your view.
“You’re too good to answer your phone now?” Kelce asked. The anger in his voice is apparent, “do you know what time it is? I’ve been at home worried sick and you’ve just been here? You couldn’t send a text?” he bombarded you with questions and though you know his concern is valid and that he just cares, all you could do was shrug because you knew the moment you opened your mouth, nothing good was going to come out.
“Come on, man,” Topper tried to butt in but stopped when it fell on deaf ears. Kelce had knelt down in front of you, making eye contact as he reached out to grab your hands that were wrapped around your legs.
“I was worried,” Kelce began but then he looked behind him and asked if the other boys could give you two some space, in which Rafe impolitely declined.
“Must be hard, huh?” You finally spoke, “to be home alone and not know where I was or who I was with…just waiting for a phone call or a text,” you couldn’t help the anger that bubbled inside of you and though you didn’t actually mean to do it, you were glad that Kelce got a taste of his own medicine.
“Is that what this is? You’re teaching me a lesson?” Kelce asked but his voice stayed soft, his thumbs making circles on your hands and you were so angry. You were so angry that he betrayed you and even worse because looking at him now, knowing that he understands you, that he loves you—yeah, that hurt.
“I shouldn’t have to teach you how to be a good fiance, Kelce. I shouldn’t have to teach you how to be considerate to me,” you said, physically and mentally exhausted.
“Hey man,” Rafe came around to put his hand on Kelce’s shoulder, “how about you stay with us tonight? Topper can take her back to your guys’ apartment.”
Without even looking back to the boy standing next to him, Kelce kept his voice low and his eyes and hands on you, “You want that, baby? You want me to stay away from you for tonight? We haven’t gone to bed angry at each other for seven years, baby. You want that?” and even as your heart broke even more because it was true, you nodded. You needed the space and you knew it was because the moment Kelce got you alone, you’d forgive him. You’d crawl back to him and ask him how you could be better for him, even if you knew that it wasn’t really your fault, you’d ask him how you could be more like her.
Topper offered to stay on the sofa at your apartment and you allowed him to, only because you knew if you didn’t, Rafe would come knocking at your door demanding that he’d stay here instead, all the while not giving anything up to you about Kelce and his other girls.
You took a brisk shower before pulling on your pajamas and then numbly staring at your bedroom. You couldn’t help it but you started checking drawers in the nightstands and the dresser. You checked his jacket pockets and his sacred little organizer with all different kinds of numbers on here, some written fast with tacky lipstick kisses on the napkins and others were business cards. Your heart was pounding in your chest when you reached into his shoes and felt something in there. You pulled out two photobooth strips and if you had it in you, you’d cry again. Unfolding the strips, it was Kelce and that girl from his job. The pictures were taken at the carnival that comes to town once every year and these two pictures looked like they must’ve been a couple of years apart. One of them, Kelce was wearing the gold chain necklace that you got him for his 17th birthday and the second photo set looked like it was taken last year. So, if your calculations were correct, he’s been seeing this girl for almost three to four years.
People usually said that they blackout when they destroy rooms and furniture, but you? You were hyper-aware of pulling Kelce’s jackets that cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars and dumping them in the bathroom as you poured a toilet cleanser all over them. No, you were definitely aware when you opened the window to your bedroom and threw out his shoes. Maybe you blacked out when you tried to put his collection of million-dollar watches down the kitchen disposal but that’s honestly just because you forgot that Topper was staying over. You didn’t even want to know what it looked like to him coming out of the guest bathroom to the noise of a watch in the sink disposal, others lined up to take its place. As you reared around the corner of the kitchen and beelined to the living room before you jumped on Kelce’s game console.
“Stop!” Topper ran towards you, wrapping his arms around you and lifting you up, over his shoulder as you scratched and screamed in an attempt to escape and destroy everything that belonged to Kelce. He dragged you with him to go turn off the disposal but he didn’t attempt to pull the watch out. Topper dropped you on the sofa and grabbed your face in his hands, “stop! Please, stop. Do you think this is going to hurt him? Do you think he’ll care? He has the money to replace all of this.” Topper tried to put sense into your head but you couldn’t see anything that made sense. Your whole life, this man you were supposed to marry and have children with, was nothing true? Pushing the photo strips that you still clutched in your palm against Topper’s chest you grit through your teeth, “how long?”
Topper shook his head and sighed, sitting on the floor in front of you, “Rafe and I only found out this week, we’ve been trying to find a way to tell you, I promise. I just—I didn’t know if it was my place and Kelce said he’d tell you first, he said it just began but then he said it’s been a while. I’m sorry,”
“Get out, Topper.”
“No.”
“Get out. I can’t deal with this, everyone around me is a liar,” you began crying again.
“I love you. I’d do anything for you but right now I’m not leaving you alone,” and he didn’t. No matter how much you cried against his arm and felt like you were self-destructing, all Topper did was hold you to him and apologize. He apologized for everyone even if it wasn’t his place.
The morning after felt eerily calm, probably because you knew that the storm hadn't hit. You’ve yet to have a conversation with Kelce since you’ve found the pictures last night and basically destroyed everything he owned. He’s texted you about five times though, reminding you that he loves you and how he hoped you slept well. You didn’t. Then again, you haven’t slept well for a while. Topper had untangled his arms from you sometime last night and you both just laid on the floor of your living room, staring at the ceiling until you dozed off for a couple of minutes.
Sitting up and looking around your apartment with fresh eyes, you cringed at the sight. Mostly because you knew that you had to clean up the mess and secondly because you knew that Kelce was on his way home this morning to change for work and you had doused his suits with a toilet cleanser. As if the devil was listening to your every thought, your phone beeped with a message from Kelce that he was doing just that and that you both had plenty to talk about.
The picture of Kelce and the other girl was found on the floor next to the kitchen and you tried to walk by it as you went to grab a cup of water but you couldn’t. There’s just something so hypnotic about his smile, his almost laugh. Though through the years he has changed, in those two pictures, his smile hasn’t. You held the pictures in your hand as your engagement ring mockingly shines from the sunlight peeking through the balcony. Topper had gotten up and nodded his head at you before he made his way into the bathroom and then to the kitchen to shove a piece of bread into his mouth before chugging a glass of orange juice.
“I need to eat something before I deal with today’s bullshit,” he had explained and when the door handle turned, you wish that you had done the same thing.
You were sitting on the sofa against the wall of the living room, perfectly in line with the front door, and Topper is in the chair next to you, with his forearms on his knees as if he was already over whatever was going to happen.
Kelce walked through the doors with a dozen roses and a red gift-wrapped box in one hand and you want to feel guilty. You almost did, until you looked down at your palm to the pictures you were holding and all you felt was rage and pain.
“What did you?!” Kelce’s voice shouted from the apartment door as he looked at the mess in front of him.  His eyes were trained on the gaming system at the bottom of the TV, clearly damaged. He walked with a purpose to the console but then stopped as he was passing the kitchen. You know he saw the watches and with a deep inhale, his eyes squeezed shut and his hands ball up into fists. You can see Topper put his shaking head in his hands, preparing for the worst, you bet. Kelce exhaled, his feet taking him to his million-dollar collection, sticking his hand down the sink and pulling out a watch you got him for Christmas four years ago. You couldn’t see the damage but the look on his face annoyed you. He looked pissed that his precious gift was ruined, he had thrown (what you assumed) was your flowers and gift on the floor as he looked around the living room and the kitchen for more damages. You could tell that he was angry but so were you. You looked down at the pictures in your hands again.
“What did you do,” he came charging at you and you couldn’t help jumping up to your feet, not noticing Topper follow suit.
“Me? What did you do?” You yelled back, your voice scratching your throat. “You did this to us!” You pushed against his chest and you kept pushing him until you were lifted and pulled away. You threw the picture at his face, “three years, mother fucker? You wasted three years of my life, of me being in love with you and for what?”
Kelce grit his teeth, his eyes lingered on Topper’s arms as he held you back but all you knew is that Topper was holding you together. Keeping you from falling apart again.
“I was going to tell you but why the fuck am I explaining myself to you? What did you two do here last night?” He accused and you knew that this was a deflection tactic but it didn’t help the fact that you wanted to scratch his eyes out for insinuating that you’d sleep with Topper.
“Listen, man, don’t even go there,” you felt Topper’s chest vibrate with his voice.
“Oh, so you speak for her now?” Kelce took a step forward and maybe he meant to be threatening but you’ve seen these boys go toe to toe countless times before. Before you choked on the testosterone building in the atmosphere, you moved between them. Placing your hand against both their chest and it would be a lie if you said that touching Kelce’s chest didn’t erupt pain and longing within yours.
“He was here last night to make sure I didn’t burn this place down and trust me, I would’ve. I should’ve burned everything I’ve ever given you, everything that belongs to you,” you said and you intended it to come out maybe a bit calmer than the harsh tone that it was laced with. Kelce reached up to grab your hand and press it harder against his chest, right over his heart. You felt his heart beating underneath your palm and you remember the nights you’d fall asleep listening to that. You saw his eyes leave yours and to your other hand that was still on Topper’s chest, too, and you could’ve sworn Kelce snarled.
“You can’t burn your virginity, I took that. And as far as I’m concerned, you’re still mine,” Kelce spoke and you yanked your hand back as if he’d electrocuted you. That was not the Kelce you knew. He would have never spoken to you like that. Fully facing him now, you folded your arms across your chest, feeling Topper’s hand lingering on your back, as if he’s ready to pull you back if you lunged at your cheating ex-boyfriend again.
“Like. Hell.” You grit through your teeth. There was a time where you would’ve wanted to die than to be without Kelce and now you couldn’t even picture the two of you together again. Okay, no, you could but you cannot see yourself forgiving him any time soon.
“We’re getting married. The wedding date is set,” he reminded you and with that, Topper did step away. He mumbled something about getting your stuff as he disappeared into your bedroom and if you were thinking, you’d warn him about the mess he’d be walking into but you couldn’t take your eyes off of the cold brown ones staring at you. It was unfair how much you loved Kelce and how you’d probably take him back if he had gotten down on his knees in front of you and begged for you back, but he wasn’t even doing that. He stood upright, his hands at his sides. His eyes were not sorry.
“Are you crazy? The wedding is canceled. The wedding was over the minute I found out. The second you cheated-,” you couldn’t even believe what he was saying, what you were saying. It was getting harder to think because, with every step back, he took a step forward, unconsciously playing a game of cat and mouse.
“Y/n, the wedding will seal the deal with your father, okay. I need this,” his tone low and desperate.
Then it clicked. Of course. Your father owned a couple of casinos down the east coast and all the way to Vegas. It was a running joke that he looked at Kelce like his own son and once you two were married, he’d sign a couple off to him. Of course, the joke turned into a serious discussion once Kelce’s father’s business got hit hard by the stock market crash. His family had changed a bit after that, they made budget cuts that Kelce was too embarrassed to tell his precious little friends about but had no problem throwing it in your face when he needed you to cover payment on his car or the apartment. You didn’t mind, of course, you knew he’d get back up on his feet again. You would’ve spent every last dime on him without him even asking.
With a staggering step back, you brought your hand to your chest because you swore that you could catch the shattering pieces in your hands. “So, it was a marriage of convenience,” you said, almost to yourself. In which Kelce’s eyes widened in response, trying to shove the words back into his mouth and you couldn’t tell if it was because he had said too much or he had worded his phrase incorrectly. Either way, the words were there, laying between the two of you. Both of whom didn’t really know what to do with it.
“You know I love you,” Kelce’s voice tried breaking down the walls that you were quickly building up and it was like you could see the bricks shutting him out. The words in the present tense did not escape you but neither did the fact that he had been seeing someone else for the past three years behind your back.
“I believe that you believe that, Kelce, I do but I don’t think you even know what love is,” you searched his eyes, his hands reaching for yours but you kept stepping back, “or maybe this is the way you love and if this is it, I don’t want any part of it.”
Kelce shook his head and tears were filling up his eyes, the first time during this whole situation where he was showing you any type of emotion. Anything real. “I do. I love you and I’ll make it right. I’ll- I’ll leave her. If that’s what you want, I’ll leave her,” his voice cracked and as if it was really clicking in that you were going to leave him, he dropped to his knees in front of you. The sight reminded you of a happier time when he was down on one knee in front of the Cinderella castle at Disney World and you thought it was a joke. Now, you wish that this whole situation was a horrible elongated joke.
“I don’t want it to be what I want. I want you to not want anyone else,” tears silently ran down your cheeks as his arms wrapped around you. You tried to push him off but your strength failed you when he buried his face into your stomach, his tears staining your shirt.
“We’ve been dating since we were 12. You’re going to throw that away?” He looked up at you, begging you not to give up on him and you knew better. Your intuition was telling you that he had been lying, the walls you built up screamed that they weren’t coming down so easily but looking at him, feeling him…you couldn’t help yourself.
“I’m not going to forget this, you know. I’m not going to just pretend like it never happened,” you explained but at this point, he knew that he had you.
“Just give me one more chance. Please. Just one more. And then you can walk away forever if it doesn’t work. Please.”
Finally, you nodded. You said yes to one more chance and Kelce finally got up off his knees to tower over you again as he engulfed you in his arms. He kissed your forehead even as you explained that you couldn’t live with him again, just yet—though you’d continue to pay the bills and you even gave him your credit card to pay for the suits you destroyed.
-------
One month has passed since that day. You’ve been shacked up in Topper’s guest house, which means that you roomed with Rafe from time to time but only when his dad was being a jerk. Both of the boys disagreed with you giving Kelce a second chance, saying something about the player’s handbook and how that was just an excuse to get you back but you blocked out their advice. Stupidly.
It took you less than a week to find some other lie, a tagged picture on his social media with two girls sitting on his lap at the club. His location on his phone would always pin him at a point when he said he was at another. A part of you grew resentful at the man for being such a horrible liar and the other part grew resentful towards yourself for believing that he’d change.
Kelce would blame the strain on your relationship on your constant paranoia that he was texting or talking to another girl but you couldn’t help yourself. Everywhere you looked, there was a clue that he was lying until one day he just told you not to look. He said that you hurt yourself by checking his phone and that at this point, you were doing it on purpose to try and find reasons to end your guys’ relationship. He said it so often that you started to believe that it was true. Were you just looking for reasons to be angry at him? So, you stopped checking. You stopped snooping. Luckily, you didn’t move back in with him because that would be a hell of a lot harder if he wasn’t coming home. To be fair, it was easier to lie to yourself that things were doing a lot better when you couldn’t see the truth.
After making a hefty dent in your wallet to replace everything that you’ve damaged, he began working for your father and you finally got your credit card back. Things were looking up; he was a lot happier and actually spent more time with you. Granted, it was also because your parent’s 50th anniversary was approaching so they were doing a week-long celebration of their love. Kelce attended every single party on your arm but after the parties were over, he’d always slip out and disappear.
One night, he asked you to come to the wreck to hang out, just the two of you. No one to dress up for and no one to impress. He convinced you that it would be a lot more fun if you had a real proper date at a fancy restaurant instead. So, you agreed. You made reservations two weeks in advance and wore a long fitted green satin dress. You’ve both agreed to arrive in separate cars since he said that he was coming straight from work so you didn’t mind when he ran late. Work must’ve been keeping him from arriving on time and you understood that, so you waited.
And waited.
And waited some more.
If the pitying look from the waiters weren’t embarrassing enough, it was even worse when you found out that the chef was a family friend who came out to personally recommend something off the menu that she promised that you’d like, just so you could order. To be polite, you did order—to go. While waiting for your meal, two hours late, you were checking people’s stories on an app and found out that there was actually a kegger at the Boneyard tonight and you wished that you were surprised but there was Kelce in the background.
Sending a quick text to the group chat you have going on with Topper and Rafe, labeled Golden Girls, you had informed them that you’d be attending the kegger, in which they replied that they were also on their way. Leaving a hefty tip for wasting their time and probably taking a table from multiple people who would’ve tipped them well, you left the restaurant fighting the urge to put a paper bag of shame over your head.
You didn’t think about the fact that you were severely overdressed for the Boneyard at this point, when you were getting out of your car and taking off your heels to throw them into the backseat, you were too late to do anything about it. Walking to the beach, a couple of pogues laughed at your dress as it flowed in the wind. Some shouted that you were on the wrong side of the island while others offered to take the dress off of you but you didn’t pay attention to any of them. You were a woman on a mission: alcohol first and then find Kelce.
“Damn, you know we don’t actually have a dress code, right?” JJ teased you as he filled the red cup with beer before handing it to you.
“Oh man, I must’ve missed the memo,” you played along as you laughed, seeing as he’s basically harmless. You see him hanging out with Rafe’s little sister, Sarah, all the time since she started dating John B a year ago.
Tipping your cup and giving the blonde a wink, you continued your search on the beach. To be fair, it’s not a big enough place for Kelce to hide. This whole island is not big enough for Kelce to hide his lies from you. You found him by a bonfire, his arm wrapped around her. You were disgusted by the sight yet intrigued at the same time. You’ve always wondered what it was about her that had bewitched him, so you found a tree to lean on and watched the two of them as they laughed. You memorized her curves and her face. Her smile as she places careless kisses on him.
You found yourself comparing yourself to her. Your hair fell the same way. She even kind of had your smile but what is it that you’re missing? If she kind of looks a bit like you then why were you not enough? You were shaken out of your thoughts when someone threw their arm around your shoulder.
“How is it that you always manage to stand out even when you’re hiding in the shadows?” a gruff voice whispers in your ear. You looked up at Rafe with a sad smile and shrugged, taking another sip of your drink.
“It’s a curse more than a gift, Mr. Cameron,” you replied in a somber tone as you kept your eyes trained on the couple. He followed your gaze to Kelce and his body tensed before he snapped out of it and his head turning to you again.
“Are you fucking serious?” Rafe said and you weren’t sure if he was directing the question at you or at Kelce. Rafe had gauged your reaction, probably wondering what you were doing here staring at the two of them instead of storming up to them and claiming your man but as you stood here, you realized that that man on the beach was no longer yours. He might’ve been yours at one point and he did a damn good job at pretending to be yours for the past few years but now that you’re watching him blissfully happy with some other girl, that illusion has definitely been cracked.
Rafe pulled his arm back from around your shoulder and made his way to Kelce. You should’ve stopped him but you also knew that once Rafe had his mind set on something, it was almost impossible to get in his way. You weren’t close enough to hear what was said but Rafe had probably notified Kelce of your whereabouts since he pointed right at you. You expected your boyfriend to yank his hand back from the girl next to him and come and apologize to you like he did before, back at your apartment but he didn’t. As you stepped out of the shadows of the tree, not really seeing a reason to hide anymore, Kelce shrugged.
You wanted to be hurt and to be angry but all you could do was shrug back at him while rolling your eyes. Keeping your eyes trained at the starry night as if looking up would keep the tears in. What else could you say? You didn’t want to cause a scene, you didn’t want confrontation, and honestly, you were tired of always having to fight for his love that you clearly did not have anymore. If you had it in you, you’d be embarrassed. Seeing the stunt that he’s pulling in front of both sides of the island when the two of you were aware that everyone knew you were together. As if hearing your thoughts, Rafe began arguing with Kelce about how disrespectful he was to your relationship.
You gulped the remainder of your beer, feeling a little spill off the side of your mouth. You wiped it with the back of your hand. You needed to get away from the scene, from watching Rafe and Kelce argue while your look-alike stood by Kelce’s side as if she already was his girlfriend...was she already his girlfriend? Was she the one he brought to parties while he kept you at home? The pounding in your head was getting too much, mixed in with the murmur that now sounds like a roar of people talking but not loud enough to drown the fact that your name was being yelled back and forth between the two men. You watched as Topper ran in the middle of them and you turned on your heel before you could see anything else. At this point your mind was focused on an exit, you needed an exit but the sand was weighing your legs down, or was it the alcohol? Or was it this unbearable sadness that’s crushing your heart and making it feel heavy on your chest.
You didn’t know if you took two steps or walked a mile before someone grabbed your arm and that was all it took for the dams to burst. It sounded almost like a wail but the person had muffled it in their chest. If you had the energy and if you weren’t so drunk, you’d be angry enough to fight but right now all you wanted to do was mourn. That’s usually what breaking up was all about anyway, it was literally called breaking and that’s what it felt like you were doing. Breaking down into anonymous’ arms that had now swooped you up with their arm behind your knees and the other still pressing your head to their chest as if to protect your face from onlookers but anyone could tell that you’re crying by the way that your body was jolting. You wanted the ground to just open and swallow you up.
You didn’t ask a lot of questions as you felt the body get in the back seat with you and heard someone else get into the driver’s side. You didn’t even look up as you felt the car start moving. The two in the car had left the radio off on the drive to wherever as you cried yourself drowsy. Not once did either of them tell you to stop crying or even give you any type of advice and though it didn’t make you feel all that better, it guaranteed that you wouldn’t feel any worse.
After one episode of crying was over, you calmed yourself down enough to try and push off the next episode as long as possible. With your head still on the person’s chest, you looked over to see a bloody Rafe driving, his lips in a thin straight line. Rafe’s eyes flickered to yours from the review and you can feel the wave of sorrow through them. Your group was broken forever and each of you knew it but you also knew you’d never ask the guys to take your side when Kelce was their friend first. Speaking of him, the arms that were trailing circles on your back started to burn as acid felt like it was coming back up your throat.
“Pull over,” you said, your voice hoarse as you pushed Kelce’s hands off your body that he has no right to anymore. When no one said anything or made any moves, you unlocked the door and opened it, causing Rafe to bring the car to a screeching stop.
“Are you fucking crazy?!” You heard them yell as you all about ran out of the car and began releasing your half-eaten dinner onto the poor grass on the side of the road.
A car behind you has also pulled off to the side of the road, your car. Topper had stepped out of the vehicle and it was just three angry men, watching you dry heave until you were ready to get back into the car again.
When you were back in the car, Kelce’s eyes wouldn’t leave your face and you knew it because you felt the stare but you didn’t give him the satisfaction.
“Please take me home,” you requested as if you had just jumped into the back of a taxi cab, making Rafe shake his head.
“I’m not taking you home and leaving you alone when you’re drunk. We’re going to Topper’s and Kelce can go start packing his stuff from your apartment before you’ve sobered up tomorrow,” he said sternly but with that, the wave of sadness came over you again as you buried your face in your hands, sobbing the whole ride back.
When the car reached Topper’s house, yours pulling up beside you, the two boys stepped out. Topper going to unlock his door and Rafe standing right outside the driver’s door. Is it possible to cry the alcohol out of your system because you felt like you’re suddenly a whole lot soberer now than you were when you asked them to stop the car. You sat there in silence with Kelce beside you.
“You don’t love me anymore,” you stated, finally looking at him. He had a cut on his lip that looked pretty gnarly. Good, you hoped it hurt.
“No, at least not like before,” Kelce explained unnecessarily. You dug your nails into your legs to keep you from crying again.
“You love her,” another statement but this time it was met with a shake of his head.
“I don’t know how I feel about her yet,” he admitted and it almost felt disgusting. As if your parents had just described their sex life to you. You didn’t want to hear it, it made your skin crawl.
“We’re not going to be friends after this, you know,” you began and he opened his mouth to say something but you brought your hand up to stop him, “we’re not. The respect that you’ve shown me is little to none and that means you didn’t even love me as a person to treat me better than an enemy. I don’t even know where I went wrong and what I did to deserve to be treated like this but it is borderline inhumane. The past few months you’ve been cruel and I’ve loved you through it. I loved you and lost myself in the midst of it,” you said, the words spilling out of your mouth and you hoped that it made sense.
“One day we’ll be friends again, you’re just emotional about it right now,” he said with a roll of his eyes, the same tone he always uses when he thought that you were being dramatic. With that, Rafe had come around your side of the car and all but pulled you out of the car, throwing the keys to Kelce’s car at him. But after Kelce stepped out of the backseat and began getting in the front seat, you yelled back at the car.
“Hey!” You twisted in Rafe’s arms and Kelce sighed before looking at you, “I don’t love you anymore either,” you lied hoping that it’ll sting but the bored look he had in his eyes made you want to scream. What did you do to deserve this?
After crying while shoving the cold pizza that Topper offered to warm up in your mouth and the bath that Rafe had put on for you and insisted you looked like a beach cat, you were looking at yourself in the mirror. You were given some clean clothes. Basketball shorts, that were basically capris for you and a school t-shirt that looked like a dress and maybe you were reaching delirium but you couldn’t help but laugh. You looked like a 12-year-old boy with puffy red eyes and you felt like someone had ripped out your heart with their bare hands but you couldn’t help but laugh at yourself.
After giving yourself the worst pep talk ever in the mirror, you shrugged at your reflection as you walked into the bedroom. You felt bad that you had kicked Topper out of his room for the night, causing him to share the bed with Rafe but you told them that you needed to be alone. Plus, they were sharing a king-size bed so it wasn’t like they truly had a reason to complain. You checked your phone and not a single notification appeared and now that you were laying in this bed, you were restless. You walked to the window and cursed the powers that be that made heartache hurt this bad. Nothing else had hurt you as much as Kelce did before and you placed some of the blame to yourself mostly, for filling your head with possibilities instead of reality. You knew what he was doing, you knew that he was seeing other girls and you were naive enough to say well, at least he’s lying but he’s also lying in your bed at the end of the night. Deciding that your thoughts were too consuming, you pulled the blanket off the bed and wrapped it around yourself, your legs making their way to the guest room.
Hearing the tapping of controllers and muffled commands, you pushed the door in softly just to see Rafe and Topper illuminated by the TV light. Both of them, leaning over with their arms resting on their knees, controllers in their hands as they were whisper-yelling to each other.
Topper was the first to notice you but his head turned to you for less than a second before turning back to the tv, cussing at...well, you couldn’t tell if it was Rafe or the TV.
“Hey,” he rushed out, “couldn’t sleep?” He asked and at this point, he definitely had to be doing it out of niceties because in the same breath he also said, “that fucker— Rafe! Where are you? Are you just staring at the wall, huh? The flowers pretty enough for you? You wanna help me out here?” Which only landed him a side kick from Rafe.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” sarcasm draped Rafe’s voice as he banged on the buttons in his hand, “I didn’t realize I had to carry both of us during the game.”
You couldn’t help but laugh and shook your head at both of them. You climbed up onto the bed behind them, keeping the blanket wrapped around your shoulders, listening to them helped drown out the thoughts you were having for sure. So you tucked yourself in between them and hugged your knees as you watched them play and insult each other. It must be well past two in the morning now and all you can think about is the phone that hasn’t lit up with notifications and if he brought that girl into your bed. He had to have at least brought one in there once and the thought made your skin feel so dirty that you wanted to shower again. Before you even sniffled, you crawled up the bed and laid down right in the middle, wiping your tears away and knowing full well that if Kelce were to walk in through those doors and tell you he’s changed and that he’d love you again, you’d take him back...again. Because you knew his heart.
Two hours had passed since the boys turned in for the night, climbing in beside you. Rafe was sprawled out on the bed, lightly snoring. As Topper laid still, his arms stretched back behind his head, looking up at the ceiling. You nudged your friend lightly and without even moving, his eyes found yours.
“Can’t sleep?” He whispered, already knowing the answer.
You shook your head and then motioning to Rafe, “never thought I’d be jealous of Cameron over there,” you murmured.
It wasn’t long until Topper lured you out of bed, claiming that he had the perfect remedy for a broken heart. Trailing behind him as you both descended down the stairs, you found yourself nursing a glass of bourbon in the basement of his house. Walking around as you took tiny sips, you read each plaque on the trophies on the wall. There was a lot. Topper sat on the makeshift day bed in the corner of the room with his legs outstretched and ankles crossed in front of him. He kept his eyes on you as you walked around his room of achievements. You two didn’t really say much at first. He allowed you to use this moment as a distraction and he was probably afraid of saying the wrong thing to trigger the wrong memory, so he let you be. He took a sip straight from the bottle of liquor before offering you more once your glass was empty. After two and a half glasses, you were sat by him, trying to make sense of your head. To give credit to the boy, he was saying all the right things. He wanted you to know that you had done nothing wrong, that it was Kelce and his own choice.
“Honestly, you wouldn’t want to keep someone around who’d treat you like that anyway,” Topper offered.
“I know, I just,” you chewed your lower lip trying to find the right words, “I don’t think I know how to be without him. I don’t know how to start dating again, I don’t think I’ve ever really done it. We just met each other and it just flowed…you know? Everything about Kelce and I just flowed and now I feel like it’s totally unfair that he’s left me without any type of warning when I was still off in Happily Ever After Land, planning weddings, thinking that nothing was wrong. I started naming our kids. I just feel so dumb.” Exasperated, you shook your head at Topper who was still giving you his undivided attention. You downed the rest of your drink before you continued.
“Everything around me is him. Everything I’ve touched, he’s touched. Everything I’ve owned, he’s seen. Hell, some of my personality is him. He’s the only guy I’ve ever been with and I just wish I could wash him off of me like he’s done so easily to me. I don’t know, I just wish I could fuck him out of my system.” You said with a small laugh, feeling the buzz and finally putting the glass down and cutting yourself off for the night.
Topper had laughed along with you and as you were looking at the man in front of you, an idea had popped into your head.
“Would you do it?” You suddenly asked him.
“Do what?”
“Would you help fuck him out of my system?” And you saw the wheels in his head turning as he took another sip from the bottle before placing it on the floor beside your glass.
“I don’t think you know what you’re asking of me,” Topper explained but something else was laced in his tone, “we’re friends and I don’t really want other feelings to get involved, you know what I mean? I love you but just…that’s not us.” It was quite painful actually, watching Topper turn you down as if you offered him up a relationship.
“No feelings,” you assured the blonde man in front of you, “just sex. I mean, it doesn’t have to be you, I guess. Please don’t think I’m like trying to make you do anything you don’t want to do. I just trust you and I know you’d treat me right during it and we’re friends so like it won’t be awkward but I guess I could also just ask Rafe or like I can go over to the cut and I’m sure one of them might, like, maybe--,” and though you knew you were rambling in front of Topper and your cheeks had gone red, you hadn’t imagined he’d shut you up with a kiss.
The kiss was hard as his lips crashed on yours and his lips were so completely different from Kelce. No, you weren’t going to do that. You weren’t going to compare this experience to Kelce just because he had been the only guy that you’ve ever kissed.
“I’ll be damned before you fuck a pogue,” Topper mumbled on your lips before he took your face in his hands, leaning back to look at your eyes for a moment. Making sure that you had the chance to tell him to get off and change your mind but you didn’t. You put your hands on his waist, using them as an anchor when you threw one of your legs over him, straddling him. Closing the space between the two of you, you kissed him. Unlike the first time, your lips didn’t collide, they pressed against each other gently. Your tongue is the first to slip in between his lips, your hands the first to remove his shirt, allowing him to follow suit with yours. He was letting you guide him and though you appreciated it, you wanted him to take control of the situation as well. You wanted him to want you as much as you wanted to get a new experience and yes, that was incredibly selfish but you couldn’t help it. A part of you wanted reassurance that other guys wanted you as well…that the best part of your life wasn’t Kelce.
So, you wrapped your arms around Topper’s shoulders, your hand getting lost in his hair as you deepened the kiss. You rolled onto your back, pulling him on top of you, wrapping your legs around his waist. He sits up between your legs for a moment, taking off his shirt and you follow suit. As awful as it sounded, you needed the skin contact. You needed the body heat.
Pulling Topper down by the back of his neck, you kissed him again, tracing his skin with your lips and leaving marks on his neck and chest. Instead of stopping you and telling you that he didn’t want to look claimed, he allowed you to do as you wish to his body. So when you pushed down your pants, and then Topper’s shoulders, he didn’t hesitate. He settled between your thighs and moaned at the sight of your glistening pussy which only turned you on even more. You sunk your nails into Topper’s hair and tugged him closer to your entrance because the look that Topper was giving you almost made it look like he wanted more than you were offering and you didn’t want to think about it. This was just friends helping friends, and he did help you. Multiple times that night on multiple surfaces of his furniture and occasionally the floor and the walls.
-------
You don’t even remember falling asleep but the next morning, you woke up with your back to Rafe’s front as his arm was draped across your middle. Your arms and your leg rest on top of Topper’s body. You wondered how cold it had to have been in the house to make you not overheat with two bodies beside you and a heavy blanket on top of you. Then again, Topper’s family believes it should always be less than 65 degrees in the summer and you weren’t sure if it was just to prove that they had the money to pay for the electric bill and impress their friends or because they truly loved the cold.
You heard the door click and you pulled the blanket over your head, sinking in just a smidge lower between the boys in case Mrs. Thornton is checking in on them. The movements caused the boys to stir and you heard the door click.
“Hey,” you heard, and your body immediately tense, clinging onto Topper tighter than you already were.
“Hey, man,” Rafe was the first to speak, untangling himself from you. Sleep laced his groggy voice as he stretched and yawned, waking Topper up in the process who was following suit.
“Is she still here?” Kelce asked and you wished that you could take the guilt in his tone away but remembering all the details from the night before, never mind.
“Who?” Topper asked, still half asleep before the answer clicking in his head, “oh yeah, yeah, she is. What do you want with her?” His tone suddenly changes into a suspicious one and you couldn’t help but squeeze his side tighter. Not really realizing why you didn’t just pop up from underneath the blanket...well, probably because it might give Kelce a terrible idea about what happened last night.
“If you wait outside, we can go wake her and have her meet you,” Rafe said before Kelce could even respond and you figured that it must’ve worked because the door clicked shut again and the blanket was being pulled off of you.
“Hey!” You pouted, removing yourself from Topper as you tried to pull the blanket back on yourself.
“Do you want me to go out there with you?” Rafe offered seriously and as much as you hated the idea and did not want to speak to Kelce, you knew you had to.
“No, I’ll be okay,” You said, annoyed at the situation as you crawled over Topper to get off the bed.
“If you need us, we’re just a shout away,” Topper said as he sat up in bed, marks along with evidence of what you both did last night peaked through his T-shirt as you quickly nodded and looked away.
You found yourself in front of Kelce on Topper’s front lawn, dressed in Topper’s clothes and a part of you felt guilty. Almost as if you’d cheated on Kelce with his best friend.
Kelce took a look at your outfit before his eyes landed on your face.
“I’m sorry,” he all but blurted.
“Out of everything, I wasn’t expecting that,” you answered, honestly.
“I know. I was mean, I’m sorry. I forgot that I had told you I’d be coming to dinner. I was drunk and upset that I had to leave her to take care of you even though you are my girlfriend or was my girlfriend...but you’re right. I’ve been cruel to you and I never meant to be. You were a good girlfriend and a great friend and you didn’t deserve what I did to you. I didn’t know how to handle the situation and it just never felt like the right time to tell you and then after the first year, it just felt like it would’ve never been the right time,” and even as he said it, he shrugged. “I wasn’t prepared to handle the situation or to figure out how to tell you what’s been going on and then you wanted to say that I disrespected you, which—okay, I deserved that. So, I had all my things moved out of your apartment last night and one day I hope you can forgive me. I’m sorry.”
The silence between the two of you was deafening and though you had so much to tell him, this boy who grew up to be the man who broke your heart, you couldn’t.
“Okay,” was all that you mustered yourself up to say and with that, he turned and walked away.
Two weeks after Kelce had moved out of your apartment, you found yourself at the Boneyard again. Rafe with his new girlfriend, Chloe, and Topper and you. You didn’t really know what was going on with you and Topper because you didn’t want to jump into something right after your relationship with Kelce but you couldn’t deny that something was definitely there.
The boys were still friends and you had learned to accept that. There wasn’t much animosity between Kelce and you but the two of you didn’t really speak to each other anymore either. Except, for tonight of course. When Kelce had pulled you away from the group and towards the girl whose face you’ve committed to memory.
“Ashley, this is an old friend,” he introduced you to the girl. “Y/n, this is my girlfriend, Ashley.”
That stung a lot less than you thought it would, raising a glass at her to give a silent acknowledgment before turning on your heels to go find your friends. He didn’t even have the nerve to call you an ex-girlfriend and at this point if seven years of your life were wasted to just be an old friend then so be it.
You found Topper, Rafe, and Chloe standing around a bonfire before squeezing in between the boys.
“Are you pulling any girls tonight?” You teased Topper before wrapping your arms around his middle.
“No,” Topper replied, looking at Rafe to make sure that he was right before continuing, “Yeah, no.”
“Unless...” Rafe looked at you with his eyebrows raised, joking as he nudged your side with his elbow.
“Luckily, I don’t think I have to,” you said as you laughed.
“Come on,” Topper said as he wrapped his arm around your shoulders and started walking you towards the car, “I bet I can beat all of you in COD.”
You can hear Rafe snort at the statement as he trailed behind with his girlfriend, whispering in her ear and kissing the top of her head. As you passed the partygoers on the beach, you looked at Kelce one last time. His smile was as wide as when you’d first met and you’ve finally accepted that he’s happier with her now. At least happier than he was when he was with you for the last couple of months and even if it hurt, you were going to be okay.

Top and Kelce eventually put me down and sit me down on the sofa, me in between them “do we have to watch football Rafe?” i whine “yes y/n we do” he groans “well i’ll be leaving.. i’m going surfing” i stand up followed by Kelce then Topper “woah.. you are not going surfing!” i laugh “well yeh.. i am” i walk out of Kelces house and go to mine, being neighbors with your bestfriend is great sometimes i pull off my white oversized shirt and grab my surfboard leaving me in my baby blue bikini (i wasn’t wearing any shorts just a bikini top and bottom) i go out of the back doors and onto the dock i run down it pulling the hair band out of my hair and pulling it on my wrist “y/n!! wait for me” i stop as i get to the end and see Topper coming with a board “you surf?” he rubs the back of his neck “well.. no but i wanted to spend time with u” i smile “well don’t fall” i put my board in the nearly still water and jump in next to it. I come up pushing my hair back and climbing onto the board i look up at Topper whose still rubbing the back of his neck “are you coming or not..” “urm yeh give me a minute” i laugh and paddle off with my arms “y/n! bro your leaving me here” i yell back “you took too long, i’ll be at the beach” i hear him huff i laugh and paddle around.
I finally paddle to the dock next to the beach i stand up on my board and jump onto the dock i kneel down to pull my board out when i get pushed back in. i land on the board on my back i sit up ready to snap when i see Kie “well that didn’t go as i planned..” she laughs i smile and do the same as before jumping onto the deck and running at her “ugh ive missed you!” she wraps her arms around me “i’ve missed you too y/n” i smile leaning my chin on her shoulder “Y/N IS THAT YOU” i open my eyes and see Pope running at me “POPEEEE” i let go of Kie and run to Pope “omg i haven’t seen you in so long!” he sighs “yeh because of ur kookie friends.. why don’t you just do what Kie does and come join the Pouges?” i pull away and look down “i can’t P, i can’t leave them, i know they can be little shits but their my friends too” he smiles softly “your right.. we’re headed to the beach, wanna join?” i laugh “i was just headed there.. my board.. We get onto the beach “yo bro is that y/n?” i hear J.B say “aye i think it is..” JJ reply’s “yes boys it’s me” i laugh they run over i place my board in the sand and hug them “where’ve you been y/n!” “kookie land?” J.B finishes off Js sentance “would you stop ittt! you guys should come over later” they all look at eachother with wide eyes “what? movie night..” they all cheer and we all head to the water. i hop on my board followed by Kie “ready?” i ask her “More ready than ever!” she replys back i paddle off and do some tricks on the board (i’m so sorry i don’t know anything about surfing-) me and Kie paddle back to the sand, “y/n tf are you doing.” i hear a voice yell.. i spin around to see Topper standing there with his arms crossed “hanging out with my friends?” i laugh at him “come on let’s go babe” he pulls my arm “babe?” another voice says i turn to see Kelce “idk who you think u are Top but she’s mine” Kelce walks over and puts his arm around me i put my board on the floor and hug into Kelce “you aren’t serious y/n? reader and kelce are dating and they go to a party. reader gets into a fight with kie or sarah and the boys (topper, rafe, kelce) hype her up
i absolutely loved writing this. apologies to anyone named rachel
taglist: @mdlyncline
She wasn’t supposed to be here, that’s all you knew for sure. As you were scanning the crowded room waiting for your boyfriend you saw the one person you didn’t realize would be at the party, Kelce’s ex, Rachel.
You hated Rachel, she had made you and all of your friend’s life a living hell, even before she and Kelce broke up. When you moved up to the Outer Banks during your freshman year, Kelce and Rachel had just started dating. The relationship was on and off for about two years before Kelce had finally had enough and broke it off during your junior year.
She had been a terrible part of Kelce’s life, being extremely toxic and manipulative and using Kelce when it was convenient for him, he was a lot healthier when they broke things off. After the breakup, you were there for Kelce a lot more and you were able to hang out with him, without her jumping to the assumption that something was up. A few months after, during the summer before your senior year, the two of you started dating.
Now here you were almost two years later, watching as she had walked into the party. Topper and Rafe had their backs towards the entrance and hadn’t seen her come in, quickly turning around when you had stopped mid-sentence, “Oh, shit,” Rafe said, turning back to you.
“What the fuck is she doing here? Who invited her?” Topper said, more towards Rafe considering this was his house party. “All I know is that if she doesn’t leave, shits going down,” Rafe said, looking towards you only to see you staring at her.
The two boys decided it might be wise to keep an eye on you until Kelce showed up, knowing that you and her never got along well. They tried to steer you away from her, but Rachel wasn’t steering clear of you.
As you were talking with Sarah and some of the pogues, Rachel decided that was her time to come over to you. “Y/n, omg, hey. Long time, no see,” her voice rang out from behind you, as soon as she heard her Sarah quickly texted Rafe to come over to where you were. “Hey, Rachel. How’ve you been?” you said, already done with this conversation.
“Oh, I’ve been doing great. Especially considering the fact that you stole my boyfriend.”
“I didn’t steal him, but I’m glad you’re doing well. I’ll see you, whenever I see you,” you started heading towards the drink table. “Y’know, he should know better than to be with you, you’re just a rebound and you’ll just fuck it up like all your other relationships,” before anyone could react you had already walked up towards her, bringing your arm back and punching her in the nose.
A chorus of gasps echoed through the party from those who witnessed what had just happened, you completely ignored it though, simply walking upstairs towards Rafe’s balcony. Your friends were aware that you likely just needed a minute to yourself, otherwise all of them would be shut down.
Rafe made sure that Rachel and her friends were kicked out of the party, not wanting you to have to deal with that again. Everyone at the party-besides your friends-went back to what they were doing, seeming to have forgotten the event that had just taken place.
“Hey guys, I’m sorry I’m late, my mom needed more help at her dinner than I thought,” Kelce had finally made his way over to his friends, mostly hoping to find you immediately, “Where’s y/n?”
“Rachel was here. Her and y/n, um, they talked. Pretty sure Rachel has a broken nose now, I didn’t realize how good y/n’s right hook was honestly,” Topper said, taking another drink. “Wait, what? Where is she? Is she okay?” Kelce asked, quickly looking around for you.
“She’s upstairs on my balcony, it just happened a little while ago, so we thought we’d give her a minute,” Rafe said. Kelce only nodded and headed upstairs towards Rafe’s room.
As he entered his best friend’s room, he heard sniffles come from near the balcony. Silently making his way over to you, he simply sat next to you keeping his eyes trained forward. “I don’t know what she said, but if you broke her nose it must have been pretty bad.”
You smiled at his words, letting out a watery laugh, “yeah, uh, I hate her. She said I’d fuck things up with you.”
“You don’t actually believe her, do you?” Kelce finally looked at you, noticing that you remained silent, “you know she’s just saying that to get under your skin, I don’t know how I got so lucky with you and I’m scared that I’ll mess this up. Nothing you do or say can mess that up. Don’t let her words get to you, sunshine.”
You smiled at him, “I love you, you know that.”
“I have a pretty good idea,” you into his side watching the night sky.
A knock at the balcony door brought you two out of your thoughts, “Hey, we just wanted to make sure you were ok,” Rafe’s head popped out of the door. “And we brought ice for your hand,” Topper’s head popped up from beside him.
“Yeah, I’m okay. And thanks for the ice, my hand hurts like a bitch, but it was worth it.”
“Dude, the video is so funny, the slow-motion video had my dying,” Topper said, pulling up JJ’s Snapchat.
“Also, Kelce, you better treat this one right, all of your friends actually like her.”

Ok so I know I have posted a s2 prediction a while ago but now that we know there is s2 I’m going to post and update prediction/wants
Let’s start with the kooks (since I’m clearly in love with Drew Starkey)
It’s also color coded bc I’m an organizational freak and I like things in a nice neat order. It will probably also have typos and some words left out but y’all will get the gist.
The Kooks
Rafe Cameron (people want redemption, but I honestly don’t think that would be good for him this season. Maybe later down the road)
Still under the pressure of Ward obviously
Still has a cocaine addiction
Trys to be as cool as possible when it comes to the shooting Perterkin
More back story on his life
Obviously Rose is a step mom so maybe his real mom leaving play a part in why Rafe does what Rafe does
What motivates Rafe other than pleasing his father and drugs
Topper Thornton
I think Topper slowly get redemption
I mean he saved John B in the bell tower that has to be a start right
I think he still simps over Sarah
I also think he trys to tell Kelce the truth about Rafe
Slowly starts a friendship with the Pouges
I think Topper and Rafe will still be friends but Top will be more reserved around him now
Kelce (idk his last name in the show)
MORE OF HIM
More
More
More
That’s all
No but seriously I want more of Kelce trying to figure out if he can trust Topper or Rafe
I also want to see Kelce and Pope form a friendship
Yeah just give me more Deion he’s a great actor who needs more credit
Ward Cameron
Eww
Go to hell
We don’t like you
But in actuality I think Ward gets what he deserves hopefully
Hopefully he gets charged with murder of Big John and of Scooter
We tend to forget about that Ward sent Scooter into the storm that killed him
And he should be charged with the murder of the mainlanders bc that was obviously Ward
Yeah jail time for boss man would be great
But he’s the biggest, richest kook on the island so I low key feel like he gets away with it
Rose Cameron
Honestly she is annoying to me
But I think she gets better
Obviously she is going to back her rich husband’s story about what happened
She still hates Rafe
Kinda trys to help find Sarah or something
Still doesn’t really care about Wheezie
That’s about it
Wheezie Cameron
Questions her whole life
Doesn’t know if she should believe Rafe and her father or Sarah
Gets super emotional when she finds out about Sarah being lost at sea
Low key over hears Ward and Rafe going over their story and tells all of the outer banks
Or maybe she hears them but doesn’t believe it idk Jonas work your magic
The Pouges
John B
Struggles to get the gold
Has to go on another treasure hunt
Bc lets face it Ward hid that shit
Deals with his emotions on his father being gone
Deals with how Sarah really feels
Finally calls the rest of the Pouges
His uncle comes back from Mississippi and find out he’s lost at sea and “murdered Peterkin”
I think I would also like to see his mom come back not sure through
Once he gets the gold back he would obviously have to figure out a way to get it back to the OBX.
When he gets back to the OBX he’s obviously going to split with the others but I also think he is going to work on being a better friend
And yeah that’s all I have for now
JJ Maybank
Let me start this by saying he should have been on the boat not Sarah, but that another story
I don’t want to think about this but he has to tell is dad what happened with the Phantom
His dad probably most likely will beat his ass
I think that he will permanently live at the Chataue or with Pope
Maybe forms a bond with Topper and low key work together to figure out what really happened on the runway
I also kind of think JJ gets the HMS and trys to find Sarah and John B that’s just the type of friend he is
I also think he finally speaks up about his abusive father to his the others and has a worse break down than the hot tub scene
I feel like there will be A LOT of crying bc of his story in s2
Pope Heyward
Pope and Kie are like “dating” the 1st couple of episodes but then I feel like by episode 3 they call things off bc it’s too weird
I think Pope gets a redemption interview
Might not get the full scholarship but gets a good amount of it
I think he forms a bond with Kelce and they low key work together to find out the truth
Then JJ and Topper find out and all 4 of them work together idk friends yay who knows maybe not and we still get the adrenaline rush from all the fights
I think Pope kind of drifts from the Pouges in the beginning to work on college stuff but then by the middle is like screw this is my friend still alive or nah
Kiara Carrera
Ditches Pope real quick
Pulls the “no Pouge on Pouge” rule
I WANT A FULL EPISODE DEDICATED TO HER KOOK YEAR
I think she had a thing with Rafe during that year and maybe that’s the real reason her and Sarah weren’t friends for a while
I low key want her to give her share of the gold to JJ or Pope since she was born a kook and knows they need it more than her
Sarah Cameron (she gets both colors bc of obvious reasons)
I think she somehow knew everything that happened was going to happen. Like idk how to explain.
Like I feel Sarah knew Ward was going to buy the Crain the house and take the gold from John B and the Pouges, but idk why I feel that way
I think while I’m the Bahamas she comes to realize that her father is a bad man and in no way can she trust him at all
Obviously she has her own things to deal with and I think she does work through some struggles
I also think once her and John B have the gold back in the outer banks she drops that boy like a hot pocket
I know Chase said he thinks John B and Sarah are end game but I don’t think so sorry bud you and Madelyn yeah I can see end game but not John B and Sarah
And I think that’s bc she lets someone get close gets what she wants and drops them
Hopefully she won’t do him dirty
But all in all I kinda liked Sarah but I have a feeling my view of her is gonna change in s2
The story enhancers
Peterkin
MOMMA IS ALIVE AND WELL
I think homegirl is in the hospital in recovery
I think she had to have emergency surgery to remove the bullet and patch her up and all that
She arrests Ward for what she was originally doing
Arrests Rafe for attempted murder and drugs
Finds out that John B is in the Bahamas and contacts him to let him him know he’s been cleared (since she low key watched out for him) and she knows everything that happens in the OBX
Also she reminds me of one of the principals I work for at one of the local high schools in my city
Shoupe
I think he starts to look into the Ward theory of things under the radar
Obviously the whole island still thinks John B did everything
But I think Shoupe slowly starts to put the pieces together and find out that Ward really killed Big John and Rafe really short Peterkin
I think he also finds out that Peterkin is alive but doesn’t tell anyone
Like I think he starts secret files at his house or something and has a whole different investigation going on outside of the police station
Bc you know “murder was the case that they gave me”
Barry
He is probably one of my favorite characters
Thank you Nick for being awesome at what you do, I know I’m supposed to hate you but it’s hard to do that
I think he keeps the secret about Rafe and Peterkin to himself for a little bit
But 25k is a lot of money that JJ took and he wants that back
He’s definitely going to still sell drugs
He definitely still going to call Rafe “country club”
I think for a while he holds the Peterkin thing over Rafes head
All in all I hope Barry doesn’t change other than like minor things that happen with people
Luke Maybank
For one Gary Weeks stand up job my friend
We were supposed to hate your character and we do we all do so fantastic job for doing your job
Also please don’t beat up JJ for taking the Phantom I know you probably will but please take this I to consideration
I have a feeling we will be seeing more of you in s2
Bc you need drugs and you like to abuse your son
I don’t think Luke gets any kind of redemption like at all
I do think he trys to act like he cares when JJ goes off the grid for a while ( he’s either at the chataue or popes or kies)
Then ends up beating his ass
But I think JJ beats his ass in return and stand up to Luke
So that’s all I have for y’all umm I’m open to discussion if you want or if you have questions. Umm yeah so have a lovely night (it’s 12:19 where I am) or afternoon or day ❤️

All Alone (October Challenge - Day 8) - Kelce Imagine
Hey guys. I’m doing an October writing challenge - an imagine a day! Each will be supernatural, horror, or fall themed!! Here’s day seven!
My challenge is subject to change prompts and orders as I see fit!!! (I’m using a number generator - not going in order)  The list I posted is simply a rough outline.
I’m sorry I’m bad at challenges. I’ll get caught up, I promise.
Word Count : 1413 Words
WARNING : Mention of death and grief.
This is really sad. I’ve been really sad the past few days and this reflects it. I’m sorry. It’s a break from the horror and stuff. Just good old fashioned heartbreak.
__________________________________________________
You had always been in love with your best friend, Kelce. Even until your last moments, he was on your mind. You always dreamed of finding the courage to tell him how you felt, but you never did. It was too late now. You had stormed off so quickly after the pointless argument with him. You had been so worked up that tears clouded your vision. You didn’t even see the car speeding down the highway as you turned onto the road. You didn’t have time to react as the blinding headlights crashed into your vehicle.
When Kelce heard there was an accident, he rushed straight to the hospital. He paced the waiting room area and regretted the last thing he had said to you. If he could’ve taken everything back, he would’ve in an instant. He didn’t have a chance to make things right with you. Tears filled his eyes as he waited for any news of you at all. He thought about the look on your face as you stormed out and blamed himself for everything that had happened.
While he was sitting there unaware, you were flatlining. You opened your eyes to the sound of the machine and looked around. Everyone was above you, begging you to stay with them. Everything was so confusing. You watched as they shook their heads, giving up, but you were alive. You sat up and tried to ask them what was going on. You stood up and walked towards the doctor, trying to show him that you were fine, but then you looked at yourself laying there on the hospital bed. Your face was all bloodied and glass marked up the skin. The nurse pulled the sheet over your head and everything became too real.
Then you heard his voice. You ran out to the lobby and there he was, Rafe and Topper holding him back as he unraveled. You saw the anger on his face and the tears streaming down from his eyes. You heard the desperation in his voice.
“You guys just let her die!” he screamed, falling to his knees. Topper sank with him, trying to comfort his friend who had just lost his world. You cried as he fought back tears. If only you could tell him you were sorry. If only you tell him that this wasn’t his fault.
Then your parents caught your eye. They were sobbing and holding each other. Their only child was gone and they wondered if they had kept you home tonight, would you still be with them? You heard your mom say that mothers weren’t supposed to bury their babies and it tore you apart. You stumbled backwards in a panic and felt the world around you stop. You repeated how sorry you were over and over, but no one was listening. They couldn’t hear you.
That night you sat in the corner of your room and listened to your mom sob. Your dad tried to put on a strong face for her, but you could tell he was dying inside. You two were so close. Now there were no more sporting events together. No more fishing days. No more Sunday drives with Annie, your dog. He couldn’t imagine his life without you in it. You sat in the corner, on the floor, sobbing.
Then a small scratching noise came from the other side of the door. You heard your dog whimper and your world fell apart even more somehow. Your dad let her in because they knew how Annie was used to sleeping with you every night.
“She’s not in there bud,” your dad said as he walked away, defeatedly. You cried as you saw his back walk away from you, but then Annie walked right up to you. There was the rumor that animals could sense humans, but now you knew it was true. You threw your arms around her and sobbed, allowing yourself to feel a tiny bit better with her by your side.
The next day passed and your mom couldn’t bring herself to look at your room. Instead you followed her around the house. She didn’t do much and that destroyed you. Your dad had taken on the funeral arrangements, but your mom mostly just sat around. She would just stare off into the distance and cry.
After a while, there was a knock on the door. You watched as she answered it. Kelce stood on the other side. His eyes were bloodshot and red. You wondered if he had gotten any sleep that night. He told your mom how sorry he was. He told her that he shouldn’t have let you go. He was tearing himself apart. As you stared at him, there were so many things you wanted to say to him.
It’s not your fault. I’m sorry. I love you. Please stop blaming yourself. This was no one's fault. I shouldn’t have left you. Be strong. You’re my best friend. Please stop crying. I’m so sorry, Kelce. Remember the promises we made? Remember how we said that we’d always have each other? I’m right here. You can’t see me, but I’m here. You’re not alone. I wouldn’t leave you all alone.
He asked if he could look around your room, grab something that reminded him of you. Your mom nodded and let him walk the familiar path by himself. She still couldn’t bring herself to open that door.
You watched as he brushed his hands over your desk. You hoped he would open the notebook on the wood grain, but he didn’t. Instead he walked to the closet. His hands immediately grabbed the sweatshirt of his that was hanging up. You had stolen it from him years ago and it was your favorite item of clothing. You wore it whenever you were sad or upset. It made you feel safe. He rubbed the fabric with his thumbs, suppressing tears as he took it back into his possession. He sat on the bed and sighed.
“Y/n, I’m sorry,” he said, his voice weak. “I shouldn’t have fought with you. I shouldn’t have pushed you away like that. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean any of it.”
You never thought he had. You knew that he didn’t mean any mean thing he spewed at you. No matter what, you knew that he loved you, even if it was in a different way then you loved him. He put his face in his hands and continued to confess his sins. Everything that was eating him alive came out almost as if he knew you were listening.
“I’m just so sorry,” he said. “I’m so sorry. Forgive me. I’m sorry.”
You were in tears as he stood up. You knew that he couldn’t stand to be in your room now that you were gone, but you couldn’t let him leave without him knowing how you felt about him. You gathered all your supernatural strength and knocked the notebook off your desk. It fell perfectly to the page you needed him to see.
Hey future me,
You’ll never believe what happened today. Top was furious when Rafe decided to spray to hose at the house, but Kelce and I were laughing our asses off. I always have the best time when I’m with Kelce. Isn’t it amazing how one person can pull you out of any bad mood or rut? I kept telling myself that he isn’t special and that he’s just my best friend, but that’s a lie. I know that you can keep a secret though. Maybe consider telling Kelce you love him, okay? You can’t keep it a secret forever and I have a feeling that you’re less afraid than I am. Just tell him he’s your world, kay?
Sincerely,
Y/N from the past
His face contorted as he read each word over and over. His heart was breaking and healing all at the same time. He muttered that he loved you too as a few tears fell down his face. He hugged the notebook to his chest and muttered he was sorry and that he loved you. He let out a little sob and it killed you all over again. You walked up and hugged him from behind, even though he couldn’t feel you. You wished you could tell him that you were there, but that wasn’t possible. You hoped he could at least sense your presence. You weren’t going to leave him all alone.

Trying To Help (The Best Boys)
Tumblr media
Series Masterlist
Warnings:Mentions of death, not super sad kind of just conflicting I think (figured id give you guys an emotional break), mentions of blood. Not proof read because im a lazy bitch.
“Hey pretty boy.”You whispered, trying not to cry.Topper frowned, not understanding where he was or why everything felt so weird. “Im sorry I drove off a bridge.”He replied, his voice sounding funny as if he had been talking with food in his mouth.
“Dont be bubs, you didnt mean to….”You replied, hoping your voice wasnt hurting his head. His eyes closed again, too lazy to keep them open. “Rafe should be here soon.”You bit the inside of your cheek anxiously.
His nose scrunched up, a look of disapproval on his face. “Why does everything always gotta be about Rafe?”He asked, his eyes opening wide when he realised there was a cast on his arm.He moved the fingers on his right hand, making sure that one wasnt broken too.Needles and IVs had been stabbed into his arm and hand, an air tube across his face and at his nostrils.
He noticed your hand on the bed, reaching for it with his good hand. You let him hold it, glad he wasnt mad at you.The room was quiet and dark but not so much that it was awkward, the two of you just trying to keep eachother calm. “Hey,guys.”The door opened to reveal Rafe.
He was wearing a backwards hat, a light blue polo shirt and black pants. He looked just as much of a mess as you, a guilty expression on his face. His eyes flicked over to you and Toppers hands as he sat in the chair next to you.
“Is that Rafe?”Topper asked, too tired to open his eyes again. “Yeah, dude. You really fucked up this time.”Rafe smiled but his face quickly fell into a frown when you didnt do the same. You began to drag your fingertips along Toppers arm, feeling a bit better when he grinned at the feeling.
“So how was the movie?”He asked, feeling his eyes water up. “Um...yeah, we didnt end up finishing it.Guess it wasnt the same without you there.”You muttered, your fingers trailing back down to his palm.
He hummed, taking in a deep breath when he realised you could hear his heartbeat increasing from the monitor. “I knew you wouldnt finish it.Between you and Kelce screaming and….and Rafe being an impatient slut.”Topper smiled, opening his eyes ever so slightly to catch a glimpse of Rafe’s reaction.
“Hmm...you’re lucky your arms already broken, pussy.”Rafe smiled, becoming less tense when you rolled your eyes. “DOnt be fucking rude.”You whispered with a small smile. “You know what...its the quoting the Kardashians daily for me.”Topper bit his lip as he waited for you to respond. “Its...the breaking my flower pot for me.”You replied, tapping your fingers against his palm. You grinned, recalling the memory.
You and Kelce had spent the morning together after a sleepover. You had scrolled through your pinterest feed as usual, coming across a ton of diy plant pots and decided to just go for it.You told Kelce about your idea as you two sat down for breakfast, both of you half asleep as you drank coffee. “Yeah, okay.”he agreed, putting on his shoes once he had finished his eggs.
“So how many pots should we get?”He asked as you buckled your seatbelt. You shrugged, not really having a proper answer as he began to drive to Walmart, cursing when he couldnt find a parking spot.Once he did he waited for you to go back to your pinterest boards and figure out exactly what type of paint you would need for the project.
It was far too early for the store to be busy, holding on to Kelce’s back as he grabbed a cart. “What isle?”He asked, stopping to grab a bag of cheetos. “Uhhh….I dont know.Hold on.”You pulled out your phone, holding onto him with one arm and resting the phone on top of his head.
“Thirteen.”You replied, squealing and holding on for dear life as he began running through the store, coming to a halt when he reached the isle. You hopped off of his back, grabbing some small pots and some medium pots and putting them into the cart carefully.
“Can I paint spongebob on mine?”He asked, his eyes glancing through the paint colors on the hunt for a bright yellow. “I dont care, paint whatever you want.”You replied, grabbing the primary colors and tossing them into the cart.Kelce being Kelce had freaked when he saw the variety of stickers, buying at least thirty dollars worth of puppy stickers, marvel stickers, car stickers and shiny spikes.
“No weeds are gonna mess with this plant when im done with it.”He said proudly as he grabbed every single strip of spike stickers. You had rolled your eyes, picking out some pearl like stickers and tossing them in the cart.Kelce smiled, getting an idea.
He moved all of the items to the opposite side of the cart to leave an empty space, picking you up quickly and putting you inside. “Kelce-seriously?”You sighed, holding on to the side as he pushed the cart quickly, swerving it against the tile on his way to the plant isle.
“Yep, its easier this way.”He replied, stopping the cart once you guys got to the other side of the store. “Ooh….can we grow sunflowers?”He asked, tossing the bag of seeds into the cart before you could answer. “Get lavender too.”You replied, taking out your phone to play subway surfers.
Kelce huffed, arms wrapping around your shoulders and placing a kiss on the top of your head as he watched you play. “Whats your high score?”He asked, playing with the baby hairs that had fallen out of your braids.
“I dunno, higher than yours.”You grinned, hearing him gasp. “Fucking rude.”He muttered, flicking your temple. “Fuck you.”You replied, avoiding a train. “Fuck you!”He exclaimed driving the cart to check out.He grabbed a few packs of gum as well, scanning the items at the self checkout.
You two then spent the whole afternoon painting pots and covering them in an obnoxious amount of stickers. The small one that Kelce had done all by himself was covered with spike stickers that kept falling off. “It wont stay stuck!”He exclaimed, becoming frustrated.
“Kelce, babe, its cause you’ve got paint on the sticky part.”You sighed, grabbing a paper towel and putting it under the water to wipe off the yellow paint from the pot.He was a pouting mess for the rest of the afternoon but was happy with the outcome of the pot, taking a photo of it to post on his snapchat story. “How did you do that?”He asked, pointing to the pastel rainbow pot you had painted. You shrugged, just going off of what you saw in the video. You two had decided to just go sit on the couch and watch some cartoons while you waited for Rafe and Topper, leaving the pots to dry on the table.
Once Topper had gotten there he had given you a quick greeting and went into the kitchen to get something to drink, accidentally elbowing one of the pots in the process and sending it to the floor, the clay colliding with your tile floor. “TOPPER!WHAT THE FUCK?!”You exclaimed, rushing into the kitchen.
“Its the stealing my hoodies from me and then pretending you didnt for me.”He replied.Your heart dropped as you realized you were wearing his hoodie right now, beginning to freak out when you realised you werent even wearing pants.
“Shut up.”You replied, squeezing his hand lightly.Kelce came through the door a few seconds later, sighing loudly. “These people are ridiculous-I had to convince them that I was Top’s adopted brother.Did you have to do that?”He asked Rafe, going to stand at the end of the bed.
“Nope.”Rafe replied.Kelce bit the inside of his cheek, staring at Topper. “Concussion?”He asked, noticing the bandage that was peaking out from Topper’s forehead. You nodded, looking between the two boys. “How you feeling?”Kelce asked.Topper grinned, peaking one eye open.
“Like shit.”Topper replied, a small smile on his face. “How long am I gonna be stuck here?”Topper asked, finally acknowledging the fact that he was in a hospital.Rafe shook his head, looking over to Kelce as if he knew anything about the situation that you and Rafe didnt.
Kelce shrugged, not knowing either. “I mean, with that kind of injury one could only assume a good two weeks or so.You wont be able to drive- (Y/N)- how did you get here?”Kelce asked, realising. You had texted them from the hospital which meant that Rafe hadnt driven you.
You went quiet, feeling their eyes on you. “Uhhh….I drove.”You replied, hoping they wouldnt push further.Topper opened both of his eyes this time, wanting to make sure he had understood properly. “What?”Topper asked, cringing at the lisp he now had.
He shouldve known his voice would sound different. He had literally bit off part of his tongue. “I drove.”You repeated, feeling a bit insecure.Rafe just looked confused, Kelce was shocked and Topper just couldnt believe it.
“How’d it go?”Topper asked, wanting to sit up when he realised that he couldnt really move that much. You shrugged, trying to figure out why the attention was on you when Topper had literally almost died.
“I dont really know, kinda just did it.I dont really remember it either.”You replied, feeling Rafe’s hand drift onto your knee, tapping your knee cap.He had been doing it for years. He was awkward most of the time and didnt know what to do if his hand was empty, usually going to hold yours or just touch you in some way to feel more grounded.
“Why dont you remember it?”Topper asked, unable to grasp the whole situation.Thank god he didnt know that the nurse had told you about his ‘last words’.He wouldve had a heart attack on spot. “I was in shock, dum dum.I was just-just trying to make breakfast and then the fucking hospital calls me and tells me that you drove into a river.”You laughed, a few tears rolling down your face.
Toppers heart beat quickened, squeezing your hand tight. “I said I was sorry...did you at least drink water this morning?”He asked, wishing he could hug you.You laughed, wiping your face. “No, no I didnt cause I thought you were gonna die!”You replied, sniffling.
“For the love of life, Topper.Keep up.”You let out a shaky breath. “Im trying my best, sunshine.”He answered, not paying attention to Rafe or Kelce. It felt like you were the only one who was actually in the room with him.
“I mean, I guess its just karma.Have any of us ever left during a movie night? All im saying is I think its like a curse or something.”Topper answered, trying his best to get you to stop crying.Kelce couldnt even think of something to say, the situation was overpowering him.
You just sighed, leaning your forehead against the mattress, staring down at the floor. “Why’d you leave?”You asked, still not understanding the full situation that lead to Topper leaving your house.Rafe shifted in his seat, squeezing your knee, almost trying to tell you not to bring it up again.
“Just...wanted to go home.”He mumbled, knowing better than to bring up the argument that he no longer cared about. He couldve laughed at it.As jealous as he was as Rafe even he could admit that the son of a bitch cared about you more than anyone and to accuse him of not caring about you was the stupidest thing he had ever said. And that was saying a lot.
SOmetimes he was close to positive that Rafe didnt care about him or Kelce but there was never a single doubt in his mind that Rafe didnt love you.Now he kind of wish that he had died since it would leave you with Rafe and Kelce.
They were both better friends than he could ever be no matter how hard he tried. It wouldve been better for the whole friend group if he had stayed dead. “You have a concussion, bubs.Nothing you say is relevant for the next two weeks.”You joked, feeling the tears roll down your face and onto your collarbones, not even bothering to wipe them away anymore.
“You have a single brain cell, (Y/N).Nothing you say is relevant.”He replied, laughing a bit.It didnt do much but hurt his head and make his tongue sting. “See?That’s not relevant.”You replied, lifting your head up from the mattress and kissing the back of his hand lightly.
Rafe smiled slightly, glad to see that you were a bit better and that Topper hadnt yelled at him to get out. “You know what?I just think I should say something really important.”Topper announced, thinking that he sounded louder than he actually did.Rafe squeezed your knee tightly, worried that Topper would tell you what he knew and that Kelce would freak out about it.
“I dont think im allowed to watch tv with a concussion-fuck.”Topper grumbled, hearing Rafe let out a sigh of relief. He noticed Kelce still standing, getting up and asking you quietly if you two could share your seat.
You huffed, standing up and allowing him to sit in your chair, sitting on his lap, feeling self conscious when Toppers hoodie lifted to reveal half your thigh. “I mean, you could always do other things to pass the time.”Kelce replied, sitting down in the chair.
“Hmm...like what?”Topper asked.Thank god Kelce was an optimist, the rest of you would be absolutely fucked without him. “Like….coloring, reading or….I dont know, thinking.”Kelce suggested, going quiet soon after. “Read what?”Topper asked.
He had never liked reading.Back when you guys were still in school he would refuse to read anything, tossing his homework down as you and Kelce tried to do yours. You usually had to harass Rafe for hours to do his work when all he could focus on was you.He would purposely annoy you just so you’d talk more and get all mad.
Between him and Topper you never got your work done, having to read to Topper so he would get some of his work done. “I could read you the Harry Potter books, ive got them downloaded to my phone.”You replied, a small grin on your face.
Toppers face became red, wanting to protest but deciding that he’d rather have you read to him than continue with the upsetting conversations. “Yeah, okay.”He answered, closing his eyes as you began to read.Kelce was smiling as you read, making comments every once in a while.
“Wow, what a bitch.”He muttered about Vernon.Rafe squeezed your waist, resting his head against your back.It was some time in the afternoon when the nurse came in to check Toppers IV and give him some more medication. “Theres food available in the cafeteria, a warm soup or something soft would be best for your friend here.”She gestured towards Topper before leaving.
She had given you all a weird look, trying to figure out why a patient’s girlfriend was sitting on the lap of his assumed brother.Kelce bit the inside of his cheek, hearing his stomach rumbling. “Alright, well im going to the cafeteria. (Y/N), can you come with me please?”He asked.
You sighed, shaking your head. “Im not wearing pants.”You answered. “Can you stand up for a minute?”Rafe asked. You huffed, getting off of his lap, eyes widening when he pulled off his shorts and handed them right over to you.
Kelce wasnt even surprised, just hungry. You awkwardly pulled up the shorts, tying them tight around your waist and following Kelce into the elevator.Everything was going smoothly until it came to a stop. “What the hell?”Kelce asked, hitting a ton of buttons at once. “Kelce!Stop that!”You smacked his wrist, screaming when the elevator moved slightly, coming to a stop again.
“What should I do?Im pressing the red button!”He exclaimed as he pressed it again. “I dont know!Press it again!”You exclaimed, clinging onto his arm. “Oh my fuck-shit dammit! Now we’re gonna die!”You exclaimed.
“We’re already in a hospital, we’ll be fine.”He answered, pressing the button again. “Kelce! It’s gonna fall!”You exclaimed, holding onto him so tight you were starting to shake. “No its not, its fine.Just wait for someone to come fix it.”He spoke, pulling you onto the floor so you were sitting against him. “It’ll be fine, just wait.”He repeated.
“Im sorry, man.”Topper sighed, looking over to Rafe.THe brunette simply shrugged, not really bothered by it anymore. “Apology accepted.”Rafe replied.Topper let out a sigh of relief, glad that the tension wasnt as strong.
“But like, can you be honest real quick?”Topper asked, waiting for Rafe to answer. “Yeah, yeah okay.”Rafe replied, dreading what Topper would ask. “Did you guys do anything?”He asked.Rafe frowned, not knowing what to say.
He didnt want to tell Topper something that you werent okay with him knowing but at the same time didnt want to lie. “Yeah, yeah we did.”Rafe replied, holding his breath.Topper simply hummed, letting out a breath through his nose.
“Were you careful? You know she doesnt….hasnt done those types of things. You didnt hurt her though, right?”Topper asked.Rafe was a bit confused, thinking that Topper would get all jealous and grumpy. “Yeah, yeah I was….she was fine, like she said she was fine and I told her she could….ya know, stop me.She didnt though, I was careful.”Rafe’s cheeks were red, trying not to go into too much depth.
Topper nodded a bit, sighing. “Thats good...so like, are you guys dating now or whatever?”Topper asked, trying to ignore the pit in his stomach.Rafe gulped, not really knowing the answer himself. “I dont know….its all complicated I guess.”He replied, feeling guilty now that he was actually talking about it.
“Okay...hey, do you think she knows?”Topper asked, hoping you wouldnt walk in at the wrong time.Rafe laughed at the comment. “Damn, man.I dont even know.Like, she obviously knows I do.Ive made it pretty obvious but like...you’ve made it pretty obvious too at this point I think.I feel like she doesnt think anyone would like her like that no matter how obvious we make it.I dont know, I feel like right now wouldnt be a good time to talk to her about this though, lets just not say anything to her.”Rafe muttered, realising he had promised you that he wouldnt tell anyone what you two had done last night
. “Hmm...you know whats fucked?”Topper asked, blinking slowly.Rafe hummed, waiting for him to continue. “I lost my two year streak with her.And you.”The blonde smiled, wiggling his toes carefully.Rafe laughed, pinching his nostrils. “Yeah, thats fucked.”He agreed.
“Nobody’s coming.”You huffed, holding on to Kelce’s hand as you leaned against the elevator wall. “You dont know that.”He replied, not sounding genuine at all. “I dont know….do you wanna talk about something?”You asked, thinking of ways to pass time while you guys were trapped.
He sighed, nodding. “What do you wanna talk about?”He asked, flicking at your fingertips. “I dont know...how are your cousins?”You asked, realising that that’s where he had come from.He chuckled, shaking his head.
“Alec would not stop complaining about sushi, I guess her favorite restaurant closed and now shes all pissy about it.Shes really fucking tall now.”He sighed, kind of glad that he was able to leave the house. You nodded, trying to think of something else to say.
Alec was his 17 year old cousin, she was nice sometimes but she could also be a lot to handle from what you had heard. She was pretty cool though, always commenting on your instagram posts and hyping you up.It kind of gave Rafe a little competition since she always commented before him.
“What about Jax?Is he still an ass?”You asked. You had met Jax a total of two times, both times he had called you hot and stared at you.He was 17 so it was kind of weird of him but you hadnt had to deal with him in a good six months.
Kelce shrugged, not having much to say. “Yeah, I dont think hes ever gonna change. He tried to download porn to my phone.”Kelce replied, biting the inside of his cheek. “Hey, is it true that Rafe kissed you?I mean, he told me but I figured he probably just dreamt it.”fuck.
Now everything was coming unraveled and you’d have to figure out how you wouldnt hurt anyone. “Uh...yeah, he did.”You answered, biting your bottom lip.He was silent. That was scary if something was so shocking that Kelce had nothing to say.
“Alright...so how do you feel about it?”He asked, keeping his voice calm and steady. He was tired of not knowing what was going on, not understanding the new tension between you and Rafe. There had always been something there but recently it seemed to get a lot more serious.
But then again he had noticed the way you held Topper, how you’d sigh whenever the blonde kissed your forehead or when he’d hug you.He didnt really want to say anything, figuring that when you wanted to date one of them you would.
Now he sounded exactly like Topper, you were pretty sure those were the exact words that he had said to you. “Um….yeah, I dont really know.I guess that like im not mad about it but I just...I dont know how to feel.”You answered, knowing that it sounded stupid.
Kelce nodded, understanding. “So do you like Rafe?LIke, you know.”He asked, pulling at the sleeve of the hoodie out of boredom. You shrugged, not knowing the answer. “(Y/N), come on now.I see the way you look at him...its a little bit of something.”He pushed.
You knew he was right but you’d rather die than admit it. “I dont know, Kelce. Its just weird, I guess.Like we’ve been friends for like...eight years and now all this shit is happening.”You answered.
He nodded, trying to think of the best advice to give you. “Alright, well life is too short for shit.If you like Rafe then I think you should go for it.All that matters is that you’re happy and if he makes you happy then you should be with him.”Kelce squeezed your hand, waiting for you to speak.
Of course Kelce would say that. That was the most Kelce thing you had ever heard him say. “Yeah, but I dont think I want to be with him.”You muttered, not knowing how to explain what you were feeling.Kelce was confused, trying his best not to show it.
“Okay….but why?Do you like someone else at the same time?”He asked, trying to piece everything together. The elevator began to move again, scaring you both. “Shit.”You sighed, holding on to his arm as he helped you up.
“We’ll talk about this later.”It sounded like more of a question. He had never been great at being assertive.A few staff members apologized, explaining that a patient had went roaming around and they had to stop the elevators to prevent them from leaving the hospital.
Kelce held onto your hand tight as you made your way to the cafeteria.None of the food looked particularly appetizing, eventually deciding on a small container of mac and cheese for yourself, a turkey sandwich for Rafe and finding a sealed bowl of potato soup for Topper.
Kelce had grabbed a few sodas and a gatorade for Topper, reuniting with you as you both went to the line, paying for the food. You two had decided on just taking the elevator again, figuring it would be difficult to walk up the stairs with so much to carry.
Luckily it didnt come to a stop this time, the two of you completing the trip successfully and walking back into the hospital room.Rafe and Topper were laughing about something, Rafe sitting in his boxers. It was quite funny. You all ate in a pretty much silence, having to help Topper elevate the upper half of his bed so he could eat properly.
“I hate hospital food.”Rafe sighed, biting into his sandwich while keeping you balanced on his left thigh. He tried to ignore all of the thoughts he was getting, figuring that the lack of caffeine in his system was making him horny.
That first night in the hospital had been the hardest. You were the only one who was allowed to stay while Kelce and Rafe had to go home. You had given Rafe his sweatpants back.
He decided that he needed to talk to you, taking your hand and getting far away from the room where the trauma patients were seperated from the elderly. “How are you?”He asked. You kind of wanted to punch him. What the hell kind of question was that?
“I just...im fine.”You forced yourself to grin, not wanting to be rude.He licked his lips, looking around. “Thats...not what I meant.”His face flushed a bit, his ears pink. “oh-oh....um, yeah im fine.”You repeated. He hummed, hands ending up in the pockets of your hoodie.
“Thats good....im sorry that I went so fast, I know you wanted me to be gentle.”He apologized, kissing your forehead. “Its fine, Rafe.”You answered, hugging him.He huffed, accepting the hug.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, I can stop by your house and grab you some clothes.”He offered, staring down at you.You nodded, accepting the offer. He leaned down, kissing you gently, feeling himself get weak.
You pulled away after a moment, kissing the tip of his nose before standing on your tiptoes to kiss his forehead. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”You grinned, kissing him gently. “Alright, text me the clothes that you want...do you want one of my shirts?”he asked, smiling when you nodded. “Alright....okay, tomorrow.”He repeated, finally letting go of you.
You ended up staying up for a majority of the night, holding Topper’s hand as you read to him, switching from Harry Potter to short stories. He had moved over in his bed ever so slightly, groaning in pain, staring at the small empty space he had made.
You took the message, hesitantly laying next to him, becoming stiff when he wrapped his good arm around you and let you rest your head on his shoulder. “You’re cold.”He mumbled, holding you tighter.
The nurse came in to wake him up every hour and a half since sleep was bad for concussions. You barely got any sleep, more focused on listening to make sure his heartbeat was steady.
Rafe and Kelce came at seven in the morning with coffee and donuts, a container of chocolate flavored yogurt for Topper.Rafe had stuffed one of your backpacks full of clothes, grabbing whatever he thought would bring you comfort.
He had grabbed you a new shirt from his closet, a mint blue and purple striped polo that was pretty long on him which meant it would fit you like a baggy dress, spraying it with his cologne.
He grabbed your facewash for you, a hairbrush, some hair ties, some socks, soft pants and some loose fitting shirts. He felt a little guilty for looking through your bras and underwear but he knew he couldnt just not bring you some, grabbing a few random ones and stuffing them in the bag.
He grabbed your polaroid camera and a few of your photos, thinking that you might show them to Topper. You were glad to be able to change into some pants, thanking him quietly and slipping in the bathroom to change, sighing when you noticed how wattery and irritated your eyes looked, changing into the shirt that you had seen Rafe wear a couple of times, sniffing it and feeling a calm sensation run through your body.
You sat at the foot of the bed, pulling your knees to your chest as you drank your coffee, taking long, slow blinks. That had been your first day without sleep. It wasnt until the third day that Kelce and Rafe were becoming really concerned.
It had began to rain outside, Kelce and Rafe were trying to convince you to leave and go home. “No.”You answered, sitting in one of the chairs.Topper was asleep.“No-no, you. We’re going home- dont give me that look. You can come back tomorrow but tonight you’re going to sleep in your bed, okay?”Kelce asked, not really giving you any options, picking up your bag.
“No.”You repeated, wanting to scream when he grabbed your arm, bringing you outside the room. “(Y/N), you havent slept in days.Just come home.”Rafe tried to convince you, going on to explain that you could ride with him or Kelce and then tomorrow the three of you would go into Rafe’s truck and Kelce could drive your car back to your house so you didnt have to worry about it.
You agreed eventually, going back into the room to say bye to Topper, kissing his cheek. “Hey, dont worry about me.Got it?If I find out you were worrying about me im gonna break all your flower pots.”He threatened, a small grin on his face.
You had decided to drive with Kelce, holding his hand as he drove on the wet roads. He was careful to drive slowly so he wouldnt freak you out, informing you that Rafe was going to go stop at a Papa Ginos to grab you guys dinner.
Your house felt foreign to you, the couch not comfy anymore.Kelce frowned, noticing your discomfort. The anxiety felt like it was eating away at your brain.Kelce tried to think of a way to help, the thoughts not coming so easy to him anymore.
The stress was building up inside of him, the stress from dealing with everyone elses problems combining with his own. “Come on.”He grabbed your hand, bringing you upstairs.
Your legs were tired from being held to your chest or bent at uncomfortable angles so you could lay in the hospital bed.He opened the door to your bedroom. “Lay down.”He told you, hoping his voice hadnt come across as creepy.
You raised your eyebrows, not understanding why he was telling you to do this but going along with it anyways. He got onto the bed next to you, wrapping an arm around your toso, one of his legs resting across your thighs with his head directly under your chin.
“What are you doing?”You asked. You couldnt deny it, it was quite a comfortable position. “Im trying to help.I saw this thing on Tik Tok the other day that if you lay on someone its like a weighted blanket and helps with stress.”He explained, pulling your comforter up over your bodies.
It only took you a matter of seconds to fall asleep, Kelce grinning. The feeling of cuddling someone helped him too, a small sigh escaping his lips as he closed his eyes as well, falling asleep before Rafe pulled into your driveway with a pizza in the backseat.

Betty
pairing - JJ Maybank x Reader
summary- JJ finally apologizes for what he did, but apologies only go so far...
word count- 1.6k+
warning(s)- swearing, cheating, mentions of underage drinking
So, i skipped some of the lyrics, but it’s almost the same concept :)
---------------------
Betty i won’t make assumptions about why you switched your home room but i thinks it’s cause of me
The group of friends sat talking and laughing, waiting for their last friend to walk in the door but she never did.
“Where's y/n?” Kie asked and JJ scratched the back of his neck, having a sinking feeling that the reason she wasn’t here was because of him. The events that took place last night still fresh in his mind.
He felt bad, but he had no energy to start a fight with the pogues so he stayed silent.
Pope and John B looked at each other confused when they saw y/n sitting at a lunch table alone a few hours later. It was unlike her to not sit with them, or even talk to them. She had sent no text indicating she’d be late or anything.
She looked up from her book and saw the boys approaching her table so she got up quickly and walked out, avoiding them at all costs.
Betty, I know where it all went wrong your favorite song was playing from the far side of the gym
The worst thing that I ever did was what I did to you
JJ watched as y/n danced with John B as her favorite song blared from the gym speakers. He offered when JJ told her he didn’t want to dance because the crowd was making him feel claustrophobic. Y/n didn’t think anything of it, but he used that time to sneak away to see someone, a girl.
JJ wasn’t proud of it, but y/n had been busy lately and hadn’t had much time to spend with him so he got bored.
Inez, a girl in the same grade as the pogues, was the one that saw the pair making outside the gym doors and ran to tell y/n. By that time she’d been off by herself looking for JJ, the song having ended a while ago. When Inez showed up next to her with a picture of her boyfriend with his tongue down someone else’s throat, she felt the room start to spin and quickly ran out to see if it was true.
Tears welled in her eyes as they came into view. there he was, leaning against the wall with another girl stuck to him. She was heart broken, so she left.
She spent the rest of the school year avoiding the pogues and making new friends.

If I showed up at your party, would you have me?
Would you want me?

“JJ just apologize, we fucking miss her dude and it’s your fault that she doesn’t talk to us anymore!” John B pressed as the group of pogues walked down the hallway on the last day of school. They heard that you were throwing a party tonight to celebrate the beginning of summer and immediately thought that this was the perfect opportunity for the blond to apologize.
You hadn't talked to any of them much, other than simple niceties when it was necessary. You hadn’t changed much though, you just had new friends. None that would ever replace the pogues, but they would do.
“She doesn’t want to hear from me guys. She’s made that very clear.” You had blocked him on absolutely everything the moment you got home from the dance that night, and ignored all of his attempts to talk to you. You avoided him like the plague. The whole time you’d been with JJ, you made such a big deal about how important loyalty was to you. So it killed you when you caught him red handed with another girl.
“Please try again. You know you miss her just as much as we do!” Kie added and the boy looked down. It was true. He missed you more than anything in the world, and it killed him knowing that he broke the biggest promise he’d ever made to you. Loyalty.
JJ wanted to use the excuse that he was just being stupid and wasn’t thinking straght, but he knew better than to waste your time on stupid lies.
“Guys, I-... Of course I miss her. I’m in love with her. But I hurt her. I broke her trust in a way that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to mend. I mean, yeah I’ll try again, but if she turns me away tonight then I just have to let her go…” He said and the group all nodded, praying to whatever was above that you missed them as much as they missed you.
Betty right now is the last time I can dream about what happens when you see my face again
JJ stood with sweaty hands, outside the house he’d grown to know so well over the past few years. It had become a second home to him, since you’d come to the island. He took in a shaky breath, wiping his palms on the fraying cargo shorts he wore too often, and made his way to the porch. Music could be heard from inside, flashing lights shining through the widows. The door was open and there were a few stragglers littered across the lawn, but you were nowhere in sight. Not yet at least.
He walked through the crowd of sweaty drunken teenagers, looking for the eyes he loved so much. He found you in the backyard, smiling with some of your new friends. When one of them looked up from the conversation, they saw him and alerted you of his presence. His heart dropped as he saw your eyes finally meeting his. This didn’t seem promising.
You just looked at him, waiting for him to make the first move. You saw him mouth, can we talk? in your direction and nodded, excusing yourself from your friends.
Time seemed to slow down as you made your way through the crowd. The music sounded quieter, just white noise in the background, as your throat began to try and your heart rate began to speed up. When you got close to him, you started heading the direction of your bedroom, a place JJ was familiar with.
Closing the door behind himself he took in the space he hadn’t seen in months.
I’m only seventeen
I don’t anything
But I know I miss you
Silence filled the room as all the two of you could do was stare at each other. Tension ran thick throughout your room as you, again, waited for him to make a move.
He took a deep breath suddenly, readying himself to speak.
“I’m sorry,” He paused and you raised your eyebrows at him, as if you ask if that was all he had to say for himself.
“I have no excuse for why I did what I did, but I want you to know that these past few months have been absolute hell. I miss you every second of every day. You have no idea how much I miss you. Fuck, I wish I could go back to December and beat my own ass for doing what I did to you, for fucking up the best damn thing that’s ever happened to me, that will ever happen to me. I love you, y/n, I always will and I understand if you never want to talk to me again . I would understand if you told me to just go fuck myself and never saw me again, but I couldn’t not tell you how sorry I am…” He rambled all in one breath. You sat quietly, not quite knowing what to say to him.
“JJ, I-... fuck. JJ you just about killed me, you know that? You know what loyalty means to me but you still went and stuck your tongue down some chicks throat, and god knows what else you stuck in her. What the fuck am I supposed to do with that? My dad cheated on my mom and I had to watch her go through that. I had to watch her divorce the man she loved for 15 years and fight for custody of me. I had to watch her rebuild herself from the ground up, by herself JJ. You knew that. You fucking knew that, but you went and did it anyway.” You finally said, tears welling up in your eyes. JJ nodded, moving closer to you and taking a seat.
“I know baby, I know I fucked up. But I promise you that if you let me try again, I will never leave your side ever. I want you forever, and it took losing you to understand that but I know now that I can’t live without you baby girl. Please, give me another chance to show you that I love you. I won’t fuck it up this time, please.” It was JJ’s turn to shed a tear, and you could feel your heart start to break, the walls you’d build around yourself in the last months crumbling down. JJ didn’t open up easily, you knew that. Which also meant you knew that this was genuine.
If he didn’t care, he wouldn’t be here, crying his eyes out and trying to get you back in his life.
“I just need time to think JJ…” You said, placing your hand over his and squeezing it.
“I’d wait forever if you asked me, I hope you know that…” He whispered and you nodded, reaching up to wipe the tear that had fallen down his cheek.
“I know, J… I know..”

Can I request a blurb with Kelce please? 👉🏻👈🏻 Being married to Kelce and losing your wedding ring and feeling so so guilty over it and you can't stop crying?
you wished the ground would open up and swallow you whole in that moment. you don’t know how you didn’t realize your ring was gone. you never went anywhere without your ring, and now it was gone. completely vanished for your finger, it’s location was a mystery to you.
you had been crying for close to two hours when your sister tugged you from your place on the floor harshly. she steadied you on your feet and held your shoulders tightly.
“kelce is going to-“
“he’s not going to be mad. he’ll know it wasn’t on purpose. you’ll be okay. i promise you.” she had been trying to assure you that your husband wouldn’t get mad at you for the entire search, but it didn’t assure you at all.
you looked for another hour before leaving her house. she convinced that you that you must’ve lost it at a different point in the day, not in the house.
you weren’t sure what the worst part about it was. the fact that you lost your wedding ring, or the fact that you had to tell kelce once he got home. you had buried yourself underneath ever sheet on your bed, sobbing into your pillow the second you got home.
when your front door opened, your heart dropped even further into your stomach. you had gotten past the nerves at this point and only dreaded the moment that you had to relive your day as you explained it to kelce.
“babe?” you pulled yourself out of bed reluctantly and walked out of your bedroom.
kelce was taking off his shoes when you walked out, puffy eyes and soft sniffles. he looked up at you, confusion etched into his features as he moved towards you.
“what’s wrong?” his voice was gentle as he moved towards you, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear and pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
“i lost my ring.” kelce could tell you had been crying for a while. your red rimmed eyes and the strain in your voice was a tell tale sign.
“you lost your ring?” you nodded, feeling another year roll down your cheek.
“i looked for hours kelce. i don’t know where it went and i- i’m really sorry.” your face twisted into a deep frown again, more tears leaking out in the process.
“it’s okay baby.” he spoke softly, kissing your forehead again. “it was an accident.” you shook your head, almost angry that he was being so accepting in this moment.
“shouldn’t you be mad at me? you spent thousands of dollars on that ring, kelce.” he laughed gently, shrugging his shoulders.
“it’s just money.” you shook your head again.
“it’s not! i loved that ring.”
“i’ll get you another one, baby.”
“i don’t want another one! i just want my ring back but i don’t know where it is.” you let out a choked sob at the thought, confusion swimming through you when kelce just smiled at you. “why are you smiling? i’m being serious right now!” you shoved him softly but he just reached into his back pocket before holding out his hand and presenting your ring.
you looked up at him, confusion evident in your tears eyes. kelce grabbed your hand and slipped the ring onto its rightful finger before kissing the back of your hand gently.
“your sister tried to call you but you turned your phone off so she called me on my way home. it was in her car.” you felt the weight of the world lift off of your chest as you moved to kiss your husband, relief flooding your system.
“why did you drag that out so long? you just let me cry for five more minutes for what?” he smiled softly and shrugged, moving his thumb across your cheeks to collect some of the tear trails.
“i wanted to build anticipation.” you punched his chest lightly but leaned into him.
“thank you.”
“don’t thank me thank your sister.”
