Very Important and Very Scientific Kinnporsche Driving Skills Research

As you all know, my number one priority during this rewatch was to answer the burning question that I’m sure we all have on our minds: which of these bitches can drive? Below are the results of that research, and also my own personal opinions regarding driving skills and abilities.

Characters who have canonical driving evidence

Kinn (seen driving in eps 5 and 12)

Vegas (seen driving a motorcycle in multiple eps)

Kim (seen driving in ep 13)

Porsche (seen driving a motorcycle in multiple eps)

Big ( seen driving a motorcycle in ep 5)

Ken (seen driving a motorcycle in ep 5)

Chan (presumably drove in ep 12 to bring Korn to Porsche’s house)

Arm (seen driving in ep 3)

Pete (seen driving in ep 5 and seen behind the wheel in ep 6)

Characters who I believe can drive (regardless of canonical evidence), ranked from best to worst

Chan: Shocking no one, I think there are very few things that Daddy Chan can’t do, and do well. He taught the main family boys how to drive, to varying degrees of success

Kim: You think that little control freak is willing to let anyone else drive him around? He took supplementary driving lessons and everything, just because he’s extra like that. Chay thinks he looks incredibly sexy behind the wheel, which is even more of a reason for him to drive as much as possible

Vegas: Vegas has never met a petty skill that he doesn’t have to beat Kinn at. He drives a little recklessly but he has the skills to handle it and I think that’s very sexy of him

Arm: Arm is a very middle of the road driver. He’s not the guy you wanna have behind the wheel if you need to do evasive manoeuvres or fancy tricks, but he’ll get you where you wanna go and really, who could ask for more? If he was my Uber driver I’d give him five stars (and maybe my number idk)

Pete: Pete is an okay driver, but he absolutely hates doing it. Once he leaves the main family you will not catch him behind the wheel of a car, that’s what he has Vegas for

Kinn: Sure, Kinn can drive, but should he? Probably not. He can count on one hand the number of times he’s had to drive himself since he took the road test, and it shows

Big: As with Kinn, being ABLE to drive doesn’t mean he SHOULD drive. His road rage is legendary, and very few people are comfortable being in the car when he is behind the wheel

Characters I believe can’t drive, regardless of canonical evidence

Porsche: Porsche is on this list because while he can handle a motorcycle like a dream, if you try to make him drive a car he will have a panic attack. It’s a combination of Trauma™️ and just a lack of opportunity to drive a car. When he has to be in a car, it’s best that he remains a passenger princess

Chay: When would he ever have the opportunity to learn? Porsche may have offered to teach him to ride his motorcycle, but why bother when he has his Hia to drive him wherever he needs to go

Pol: Personally I think he just never got his license before becoming a bodyguard, and mysteriously avoids having to get one whenever it’s brought up during his evaluations. It’s fine though, that’s what Arm and (pre-coup) Pete are for

Tankhun: Tankhun took his road test at the insistence of his father and then immediately purged all knowledge of how to drive from his brain. Gorgeous gorgeous girls should NEVER have to operate a motor vehicle

Characters who I believe technically can drive, but aren’t allowed to

Ken: Worse road rage than Big, he is only allowed to ride a motorcycle and even then only in extreme circumstances. He is the type to follow you to your destination and beat your ass if you piss him off in traffic

Macau: He got his license and promptly had it confiscated by Vegas within a week. Macau has never met a reckless driving stunt that he didn’t immediately want to try out himself. He thinks speed limits are a gentle suggestion and he isn’t interested in hearing them

"In fact, while most of us are looking at the filming of episode 8, 2po still has their gear stuck wondering about what’s in the pilot". What's so important about ep 8 of TW? Do you think we would finally get some confirmation of Cas in the show in that episode?

Cas is already going to be visible before episode eight, though via old content at that point AFAIK. Episodes 11-13, 13 most likely, is the time to expect actual new misha appearances as misha and not a memory or glob of light or disembodied transmission or something.

My point is that, this show is well past its halfway point in filming. We've seen many of the scenes, setups, arrangements, gotten various leak waves, know the final destination from the jump and everything else while 2p0 is mutually making confused moose noises still about what's actually in the pilot, much less the other seven fucking filmed complete episodes while they hop onto 9-10 by the time the pilot airs.

I just. I'm like putting my hands over the face at the stubborn arrogance of 2p0 pretending to know what's going on while still being oblivious to content past the pilot. 2p0 is obsessed with trying to argue about the goddamn pilot and forgot there's an entire fucking season after it that he should have been tracking and has completely lost the pulse on.

But he keeps posting in circles to badly interpret shit like he can White Male Power Will It To Change Into What He Wants It To Be and like. no lmfao EVEN IF U TALK REAL LOUD AND A LOT MAN, SORRY

Ahhhhhh, yesssssir.

See, I have a theory about this. I said a fews ASKs ago that I was gonna copy and paste the essay so might as well just go ahead and do that here LOL.

In light of the insanity of episode 31--I truly think that each of the siblings have like a 2 part arc they each need to fulfill.

(Idk maybe more than that 🤷‍♀️).

Ikki's first arc I'd say is split into two parts:

Arc 1: Trust & Worth.

He had to learn to (1) trust his siblings to be able to handle themselves

and (2) To trust himself (Vice lol). Which came to completion in episode 13.

The worth part he's still working on

but he IS slowly coming around to the fact that y'know there are parts of himself that he DOES love.

His 2nd arc is also split into two parts

(1) Remembering the trauma and acknowledging it -- aka ep 25 to 31 --- and

(2) learning how to cope with said trauma, and learning healthy coping mechanisms instead of choosing self-harming behaviors/coping mechanisms.

Of course there's still plenty of sh*t Ikki hasn't acknowledged or processed.

And that's because he still needs to learn how to cope in a healthy way instead of immediately trying to run away from the problem (mentally) and y'know in reality too I guess.

Because he'll never grow as a person until he actually learns a new way to cope so that he can process everything, instead of repeating the same cycle of toxic behaviors to the point of idk, death? Mental death? Physical death?

Hmmm.

Well there will certainly be a death of some kind with the way the show is going full power nonstop, bullet train 800 mph right ouTTA the gate.

In fact, Ikki's current storyline kinda reminds me of the Kdrama "It's Okay Not to be Okay" -- more specifically, Ko Moonyoung's kid's book:

"The Boy Who Ate Nightmares."

NGL y'all this book fits TOO damn well. It's almost uncanny LMAO. "Why can't I become happy?" just HITS.

……..Since Ikki keeps falling back into these same patterns -- down to the foundation of who he is as a person, I believe he's destined (on this current path) to end up becoming exactly like his father.

(Unfortunately.)

Because when you get down to it, the two of them cope the EXACT same way.

(The father's albeit a LOT more unhealthy, but that's because while Ikki had something positive to fall back on, all the dad had was like....scientists horny for abusing human rights, and actual isolation in the DANKEST fking place on earth. Lmao.)

Of course Ikki's big thing is that

he needs to recognize that he copes in this wildly unhealthy manner because its how he coped with the trauma from his childhood.

Its the only way he currently knows how to cope, he doesn't really know anything else, so he keeps going straight back to this mechanism, even though it at this point it could severely ruin everything in his life that he's come to live for.

....

For Daiji, I think his arc is very similar

(but with obvious differences, as Ikki and Daiji are like direct foils with each other.)

Like (1) he had to learn how to trust himself, (aka confidence) --- and to do this he had to learn how to fight against his own self-hatred.

But this also meant that he had to revisit HIS foundational coping mechanism

(aka how Kagerou works as a "mirage" so that Daiji can keep living, by changing the story to being something caused by OTHERs instead of caused by HIMSELF -- so that he wouldn't idk do something crazy with all that hate.)

I do still think he's working on his confidence and how to fill out the shoes of trusting himself, but he has (unlike Ikki) successfully faced his demons, his unhealthy coping mechanisms, and idk,,, killed them?

Basically he learned that he didn't need to cope like this anymore because he CAN and WILL have to face his own problems and he finally accepted that. (Ep 26)

BUT.

The thing he still hasn't gotten to yet on his narrative arc, would be the changing of his view point. While he one-shotted his coping mechanism and learned how to be more cruel and decisive, he STILL hasn't really changed his way of thinking. He largely follows and operates with this binary of "Black and white" y'know?

"Good versus evil, justice versus injustice" etc etc etc.

Like he might've changed his shoes -- but he still walks the same?

Which is why Kagerou is currently MIA -- not because he's gone for good

(lmao we WISH we could just fight our demons to the death and be demon-free LOL.But, real life isn't like that sooooo)

BUT

because Daiji hasn't yet learned to accept the parts of himself that are bad -- y'know the more negative emotions, the violent thoughts, aggression, (etc. etc. etc.) Because he still views and sees these things are "evil" and puts them in a box buried deep inside him, and since he's punched out his MAIN coping mechanism of needing to protect himself from reality……

what he needs to do now is accept his OWN reality.

Accept that things are not a binary, they are nOT black and white,. and that it is oKAY to be flawed, and that it’s essential to acknowledge that it doesn't make you inherently evil for having a negative emotion.

This change of viewpoint and final acceptance of himself I believe is his main narrative arc.

And that until he learns how to accept himself and this viewpoint, he'll be forever playing side-character because he hasn't yet truly allowed himself to BE a main character. To BE someone flawed. And this is something he is going to have to learn if he wants to actually complete his goals.

Like at this point, he's accepted the wrongs of the past. and that things need to change.

But he still lacks the foresight of things being more complicated than just 'good and bad' to actually SEE how to successfully implement any kind of change.

Etc. etc. :DD

So, going back to Sakura I just fullll out BELIEVE that her entire journey is about growing—

(yes -- as a person like everyone else in this show/the igarashi family L O L) but more specifically

growing up

Like the 3 siblings are each trapped by different things. Ikki's trapped by his past so he can't see how to change his present and/or his future until he deals with said past. If he never deals will it, then he's doomed for failure.

Daiji's big problem and conflict deals with the present. He's too stuck in the present to fully process his past, and he can't move towards the future unless he recognizes who he IS in this direct moment, and comes to accept it.

(Which he hasn't lol)

And then of course, back to Sakura -- her problem is the future.

She's too stuck on the future, on growing -- maturing -- trying to learn to be more responsible, more..."adult".... trying to figure things out on her own, that she ALSO neglects the past AND the present.

Hence why she just accepts everything that she hears and has yet to think more critically about what is true and what is false and whatever else falls in-between.

All of the Igarashi siblings

(but DEF Sakura and Daiji, as Ikki has had to deal with this directly a lot more, but now his problem is with how he copes with it)

have a problem of viewpoint.

Specifically (from what I can tell) the binary of good and evil, black versus white, yada yada yada.

This is originally WHY Sakura wants to figure things out on her own/become more 'WOKE'. It's because narratively she's inbetween this phase of childhood and adulthood.

Like the first 10 episodes of the series are Sakura seeing just how different "real life" is to the only life she's known prior. AKA that Ikki isn't superman. That Daiji isn't inherently just a "sweet, kind, older brother" and also that society is jacked to hell.

Y'know this is why "LIBERAL UP" is Sakura's henshin phrase, and also why she uses the "Libero" driver.

Because she needs to transition from the past to the modern present.

HOWEVER.

Sakura's too far ahead of herself. She still has the tendency to naively believe what is presented to her. (AKA 'this mUST be the truth. Because he said so. LOL!!!) This is probably also why she joins WEEKEND because y'know she's "At the end of the week" Yet she in the transition period right before the start of the next (week).

Hmmmmm. Sakura' biggest conflict

(Y'know other than with this viewpoint)

Is also the concept of honesty and dishonesty. Which is why her animal motif is a SNAKE, because (and yo this could be symbolic to her joining weekend, idk I guess)

she has to choose between:

"Accepting the honesty of what she already had, or she has to choose and accept the dishonesty of the SNAKE"

-- leading to her "Fall". (If we're going by religious connotation. But seeing as the show has a literall fking CULT I feel like this connection isn't too far fetched LOL.)

Which YEESH. But its true. She needs to understand that you can't just confront things head on and expect to always be right, or to win. There's more to reality than just beating the opponent in physical combat.

Wayyyy quicker than Ikki and Daiji, Sakura NAILED the first part of her arc (accepting her own vulnerabilities, accepting her own demon)

(Ep 11-12 lol).

Ikki first accepts his demon in episode 13 (when he has to trust Vice), and again in episode 18 (accepting that him and Vice are one); Daiji never accepted his demon (Ep 26)

Which is also why Ikki and Sakura are more proactive in the narrative versus Daiji who has A LOT of self-introspection that he's got to do.

Ep 16, “The Path”

Caves in the desert in the Dreamlands

-3:40 “Reminiscent”

They’ve acquired a lantern. It’s strange, an odd aura and emits a black smoke in a line, like a path.

-6:50 “Reminiscent”

They ponder over the strange lantern and its path, normal except for the smoke being stiff and thick, leading them out.

-9:06 “Reminiscent”

Arthur feels like there could’ve been more, that they keep running away and they don’t know who’s an ally or enemy. John argues that they don’t have any allies nor need them, but Arthur says that running away from everything may make them miss answers. John says they are not safe and they can’t trust anything. Missing a chance is better than dying.

-11:25 “Reminiscent”

John talks about needing to be smarter, not letting the Dreamlands be smarter than them. The blue sun rises again to reveal the base of a mountain.

-13:53 “Reminiscent”

They look through the glass of Leng again. They see the very cliff they are at, the edge of the desert. Their destination.

-15:02 A Lullaby

Arthur begins humming as they walk. The tune seems to be one of the “Reminiscent” category.

-15:25 the very song plays on piano.

Arthur says the song was important to them. Arthur does not say he was married, but young and with someone. Faroes mother passed away when Faroe was born. Arthur said he “wasn’t enough” to care for her on his own, says he was focused on the wrong things, writing music. He was a composer, making a few songs that made it to the radio.

He says he can’t talk about this, and they drop it.

Arthur feels there’s no going back from this point, adn John Knows they cannot. In the Dreamlands they must keep going forward to leave the place behind. It reminded Arthur of something, and he begins to recite poetry. It’s called “An Old Sweetheart of Mine”, about a man remembering fondly about courting his wife.

-25:53 “Reminiscent”

The right side of the passage opens into nothing, dropping straight down into nothing. The wall seems to almost be gone, but the left wall is still there. John asks if Arthur is afraid of the dark, but Arthur answers it's just second nature, and he more fears what lurks in it. He fears the unknown, “all humans do, the dark simply hides it.” John shares the fear, scared of what will happen to him after everything ends, fearing return to the Dark World.

-27:47 “A Lullaby”

John asks Arthur to recite another poem, any poem, and Arthur does. Free, by Eugene O’Neill.

John asks if he yearns freedom, and Arthur answers “I think we both do.”

Arthur mentions that there is no bitter memory attached to this poem, and asks John if he’d like another.

-34:59 “Reminiscent”

John tells Arthur to be careful on the thin path, and then mentions that this path is unlike the other path, the one the lantern led. The lantern led down a carved path. They bicker a bit over information like that being important, but Arthur continues to follow the creature.

-39:47 “Faroes Song”

A deep, slow version plays.

In the tent, John discovers a picture frame, broken but still with the picture. It’s of a woman with a sad smile, standing by a park with the city in the back, perhaps Arkham. Arthur wonders if it’s by the Miskatonic River. The picture seems to have been forgotten. They decide to take the picture, but leave the frame. This is likely the picture missing from Franks wall.

-42:35 “Reminiscent”

They look over the cliff, and it is simply an abyss. They then grab the book, and it seems to be a diary. And then Arthur almost slips.

-43:42 “Reminiscent”

They wonder if John is feeding off of Arthur emotions, specifically his fear of the unknown that’s been brought up. Arthur wants to believe that John is learning for himself, growing and becoming his own person with his own thoughts, wants, ideas, etc. John is something entirely his own, John Doe.

-45:17 “Faroes Song”

The song plays, deep and slow, but as if someone is playing it manually. It stops and starts again multiple times. We are then smacked back to reality. Arthur slipped but for real this time.

Secret Crush on You ep. 13 mini review ✐∗ ˖࣪ ༻

rating 𓄷 9.5 - by far my favorite episode, and I know I say that every episode, but no, seriously, this one was it.

spotlight couple of the week 𓄷 JaoSky and TohNuea (I thought I could choose, but I really can't)

spotlight actor(s) of the week 𓄷 Billy and Seng (their relationship has skyrocketed this episode, so happy for them)

review:

Okay, was not expecting that turnout with Nuea finding out about Toh's secret memorabilia. I for sure thought they were going to make it hella corny, with Nuea jumping onto Toh to confess how horny Toh's collection made him. But no, this was done with precious timing and perfect detail, casting over our initial problem with Toh feeling like his relationship wouldn't last and Nuea reassuring him that it will. They shared a pretty hefty moment together, and I'm glad we were able to finally get a moment with them that felt vulnerable and exquisite. For once, I didn't mind that they took up most of the run time.

Sky and Jao.??????? Literally it was perfect??? and everything and more than I wanted it to be?????? Genuinely, I wasn't expecting a bed scene from Jao and Sky, cause I would've 100 percent accepted it, but the fact that we did get one, twice in one episode, is crazy. They were so soft with one another, Sky made sure to be gentle, yet he let Jao know beforehand he didn't know how much he could hold back. I have never seen such desire in Jao's eyes but it was clearly there, and gosh was it amazing. Just to see Jao even be the one to somewhat make the first move to show that he didn't mind that Sky touched him or kissed him -- urgh, it was too good. I finally feel complete with this couple, and Now Jao is not afraid to show intimacy even around his friends, God, these creators are geniuses.

A crumb and a half of Daisy and Intouch. I'm scared at this point that they'll be rushed into oblivion. Next week is the LAST episode, and we've gotten next to nothing. What I'm thinking will happen is that we'll either get a flashback to moments that they've had together off-screen while we were busy with Nuea and Toh, or they'll explain that they've been in a relationship for so time now. Either way, it'll suck because I want to follow along with o their journey, not halfway to their destination.

As much as love Kongkwan and Fong, there was no reason to have them in this series if they weren't going to do anything but give us nothing. I know they're getting their own series, but they just feel lackluster here, to the point that they are basically irrelevant. I wish we could actually see some development between the two. Instead, they're just there.

Like I thought, there was no need to add Kong into the series for the very unnecessary drama. It's so irrelevant that it makes me angry. It does nothing to destroy Nuea and Toh, Toh doesn't think any less of himself because of it, and it's just pure stupidity. With the time they took out to introduce this conflict they could've used it for our two other relationships that have zero development.

They didn't show any Daisy and Touch for the next episode and so now I'm a bit nervous. Again, they most likely are going to have a secret relationship, because, at this point, it would be absurd to have them get together in the one episode we have left. Either that or they're friends with benefits since Touch isn't afraid to say some flirty shit out of the blue.
