ANOTHER THOUGHTS ABOUT DETHHEALTH this IS MY FAVORITE EPISODE AAAND AGAIN ANALYZE the MTL SCENES every time i find something new there well—
i want to thank @normanblowup for the thoughts about this ep whitch i found a long time ago that inspired me and made me add stuff a little to it all.
-
TW just in case with regard to some traumatic events related to sexual (or sort of thing) experience.
-
everyone remembers that Dick and Rockso flashed for a second in Murderface’s gay hallucinations. in short even though these flashing images in his head are very random i think they both embody two different sides of open approximate homo-images that he saw live — one positive and the other negative.
Dick is a positive image — Murderface sees in him an attractive personality for him that he respects. he personifies the side of attraction in which deep down in the soul and subconsciously Murderface partly….. wants to believe??? Dick combines those qualities in terms of sexuality/general openness that are absolutely unattainable for Murderface but so fucking desirable. Dick is open, liberated and honest, does not hesitate to flirt and call people sweet nicknames — Murderface can only admire this level of freedom and wish to have such social mobility too (well if he does not have it then at least be next to the person who have it hehehehehh).
Dick is fully clothed but with his legs spread — Murderface respects his loyal openness as a person but is still interested in his physical/sexual mystique.
Rockso is a negative image. he embodies everything that Murderface despises and hates about homosexuality in principle and what homosexuality itself is used to consider — an abomination, debauchery, filth and sexual violence. Murderface is disgusted by Rockso's emancipation because he demonstrates it from the worst side: he shakes balls, flaunts in revealing suits and constantly lies around doped up with drugs. Murderface does not see anything worthy of imitation in Rockso's behavior — he sees only moral rot and he is disgusted by this. he doesnt even think its brutal, he can only hope that everything is not so shitty for himself. obviously, Murderface would not want to resonate with such a thing, but unfortunately, subconsciously this is what happens to him, he literally behaves the same way (this may be another reason for his internal homophobia, he does not want to behave like this but consciousness still tells him to repeat this as a possible reconstruction of trauma).
Rockso is naked and looks quite repulsive, but Murderface, even being traumatized, cannot get such an image out of his head (as usual after such crippling experiences, unfortunately, it happens).

Pickles the Drummer, one of the world famous members of the band DETHKLOK, is rumored to be close to death by some kind of unknown sickness, possibly the fish flu or bear flu, or the newest strain of synthetic drugs called “coffinliners” or “bullet” fiber.
This rumor has spread online all across the world yesterday, and now people from every race and country all want answers.
Charles Offdensen, the bands manager, who had not been seen for almost a year, released a very terse and non committal answer this morning. He said:
“Pickles is our family as well as our drummer. We won’t be making any rash statements until all the facts are in. Just remember, everybody dies.”
Dethklok is a band which enjoys a popularity level unheard of in reality, ranking as the seventh largest economy on Earth, passing Belgium. The band’s popularity is such that impressionable fans will do anything its songs tell them to, even if that means death, which is usually the case, fans of Dethklok murdered the governor of Florida after he disrespected lead singer Nathan Explosion, whom they then proceeded to elect governor in a landslide write-in victory. If Dethklok endorses a product or service, competitors are quickly driven out of business. Organizations ranging from governments to businesses, go out of their way to avoid hindering Dethklok, to the point that the band is given free reign to do anything. What will happen when one of its members dies?

23 combined w/or 20 for Pickles and Jimi!!!
[23. Write about your ship supporting each other through a hard time.
+
20. Write about your ship sneaking a romantic moment together.
Y'all are getting a preview of Dethmas: Director's Cut baybee!!!]
"Honestly, they've got all the money in the gahddamn world but don't even have one can opener? Ugh!" Molly huffs in frustration as she continues to slam through drawers.
Jimi opens one on her end and finally finds the prize, liifting it up for the older woman. "Oh, hey, I found one–"
"Ope, there we go." And Molly snatches the device from Jimi's outstretched hand, immediately attacking the canned pineapples.
Jimi catches Pickles' eye, again, and he gives her a slight shake of his head, lips pressed into a firm line.
"Honestly, Jamillah –"
"For the last time, Mom, it's Jamila–"
"Ja-MEE-la." Molly rolls her eyes, aggressively dumping the pineapples into a bowl. "Didn't I teach you not to interrupt a lady when she's talking? The nerve. Anyway, Jamila, it's nice having someone who knows how to follow directions in the kitchen for once. Yer honestly too nice to be hanging around this silly little band."
"This is the opportunity of a lifetime for me." Jimi says, forcing a casual tone into her voice, keeping her eyes on her hands as she sets up her cutting board and knife. "And I'm glad to be here. Did you want the pecans or walnuts for this one?"
"Walnuts, dear, pay attention. Still! Goofing off with these ruffians all day with yer pictures and all that. What would your husband think?"
Jimi tears open the bag of walnuts with a little more force than necessary, takes a deliberate breath, and meets Pickles' eyes again. He fidgets, now, tugging at the left sleeve of his sweater, soon averting his gaze.
"I mean, assuming yer married n' all. If not, that'd be pretty sad, as you're not so young – actually, wait a minute now." Molly pauses in stirring together her slime green concoction (so that's what the pistachio pudding was for?) to lean over and look at the painter's left hand. "Ah, well then," she sniffs at the lack of a ring, and dumps in the marshmallows.
"I'm happy where I'm at now," Jimi says with measured patience, slowly chopping the walnuts.
"You really should think about it," Molly's voice is a bit further way, and soon Jimi hears the hiss of the refrigerator door opening, then shutting with a thud. "I've already long given up on Connor giving me any grandkids – well, unless he's got any rascals running around, but I doubt it. Never could keep a girl long enough to–"
Jimi's knife comes down with much more force than necessary, and this time, she doesn't hide how she has to stop and take a deep breath. "Or maybe," she says slowly, "Pickles is very particular and hasn't found the right partner to meet his standards. Not everyone has to settle for the first thing that's given to them."
"Yeah, Mom. You have any idea what kinda PR nightmare a marriage would be? It takes someone real special to put up with that pressure." When Jimi looks up, Pickles is no longer slumped over on his stool, but sitting straight up. Looking at Jimi directly. "I wouldn't choose just anyone."
"Sounds more t'me like you just lost yer chance a long time ago." Shaking her head in disgust, Molly takes the chopped walnuts from Jimi to add to her bowl. "You still like coconut in this?"
"No, Mom, I don't."
"Since when?"
"Since never."
Molly tsks, stirring her – salad? Dessert? Jimi has no fucking clue anymore. "You are so disagreeable now, can't listen to nobody since you got all this going on. Should've found a nice girl like Seth did, that'd straighten you out–"
"Hey, Pickles, didn't you have some demos for me to listen to before I go?"
"Eyep, sure do!" Pickles slams his hands on the countertop as he stands, swiftly making for the exit. "Sorry, Ma, gotta work!"
"You haven't even done a taste test–"
"See you later, Molly!" Jimi tosses back, already halfway across the kitchen, skin crawling as she feels Molly's judgmental stare follow them. It doesn't fade until they're well out of view and down the hall, Pickles gripping her arm, almost dragging Jimi to keep up with his hurried pace.
He doesn't stop until Jimi tugs back, tugging him into some grandiose-but-empty room like the many dozens scattered throughout Mordhaus. He doesn't stop, until Jimi presses him back against the closed door and holds his face in her hands.
"Baby, baby, hey," she urges, voice hushed and low. "Look at me. Breathe."
The last thing Pickles needs is an asthma attack. His cheeks are tinged red with anger, but he listens, taking big, shuddery breaths, closing his hands over Jimi's wrists. She stays with him, breathing with him, until they breathe as one, calm and collected.
Jimi's thumbs rub against those delicately freckled cheeks, offering a smile to the moss green gaze locked on her. "You didn't have to come with me back there."
"You don't know how she is." Pickles starts to shake his head, but Jimi holds him still, and he inhales. Exhales. "I wasn't gonna just let her talk to you like that."
"I know." Now Jimi finds her own gaze dropping, to their equally garish sweaters, to their feet. She thought she'd be used to dealing with women like Molly, but given the circumstances... of course, this would be different. A lot more uncomfortable.
And painful, judging by the abject misery radiating from Pickles. His head drops to her shoulder and his arms wrap around her, his weight fully against the door behind him.
Jimi leans into him, arms sliding around his waist, and waits. The silence is never truly silent, their hearts beating in tandem to fill the void. She closes her eyes as Pickles settles, until his misery folds in on itself and is once again tucked away into a place Jimi can't reach quite yet.
She turns her face to press her cheek to his chest. "... We gonna tell her?"
His arms tighten around her. "I... I dunno."
They stay like that for minutes, hours, eons. As usual, time is insignificant when it comes to the two of them.
Eventually, Pickles pulls back, brushes a stray curl from Jimi's face. "Y'know, Jim..." His eyes drop, and he pointedly pauses.
Which makes Jimi blink at him. "What is it?"
"Huh." There's a distinct shift in the air between them. Pickles' hands brace around her ribcage, and move up until he's cupping her breasts. "Yer tits look fuckin' huge in this."
Jimi's mouth falls open. "What–"
"Seriously, are they bigger? Is there somethin' yer not tellin' me?"
"Oh, my god, stop! It's just..." She can't stop the giggles that spill out of her, increasing at Pickles' pleased little smirk. "It's just a thing that happens when I wear sweaters, I dunno!"
"We should get you in 'em more often," he muses, leaning in to kiss her cheek. "Or maybe out of 'em, I can't decide." He kisses her other cheek, sliding one hand beneath her sweater and over the bare skin of her belly.
Jimi, predictably, expectantly, shivers. "You're such a horndog."
"Nyeh hehehe." He just chuckles, continues to rub calloused fingertips over her skin. "You love it." And he tilts his head to kiss Jimi properly.
This is how it should be, always. Jimi glimmers and gleams as Pickles wraps around her in seven ways, crimson and content. He pulls back just before Jimi begs for him to sink his hand into her chest and please, please grasp her heart once again. As usual, yearning for that oneness, that completion.
"It would've only been you," he murmurs against her lips. "Ya know that, right?"
"I do." Even if Jimi the mortal still struggles with that truth, sometimes. Jamila, luminescent and eternal, has always known. She trails a finger down freckled cheek and scruff, sighs when he captures her fingertip between his lips. "But I could always use a reminder.

Thinking about Toki's character arc in Metalocalypse...
Now that Metalocalypse is officially over, or so it seems, I wanted to go over what Army of the Doomstar means for Toki's growth.
Warnings for spoilers for, well, the entirety of Metalocalypse.
So, over the course of the show, we see Toki repeatedly trying (and failing) to form a meaningful bond with several living beings, people and animals included.
Tumblr media
Analysis under the cut ⬇️
Season 1
It starts with a dying little girl called Juliette Sarmangsadandle in Dethkids (S1E16). Toki is upset over being misunderstood aka his public image being associated with kids and vehemently fights the idea by adopting an edgy personality.
When he watches Juliette's video, about being a child that longs for violence, it speaks to him and his childhood. Toki feels seen by this little girl and imagines his child self singing with her.
Tumblr media
Sadly, when he goes out to meet her, she's already dead. Here goes Toki's first attempt at connection, utterly butchered.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the following episode, we're introduced to Rockzo in Dethclown (S1E17). Toki brings his clown friend over and everyone pretty much almost instantly dislikes him. Not to mention Rockzo tries to betray Dethklok for drugs. Still, he sticks around for the remainder of the show as Toki's friend.
Tumblr media
Though it's important to mention how much of that friendship involves Rockzo abusing Toki's kindness and generally being a shitty person. He's not exactly someone Toki can rely on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is not that significant but I'd also like to give a shout out to Dethwater (S1E02), where Toki is locked in an oxygen chamber and sings to the fishes and creatures in the sea. It's an early episode, but already portrays Toki's friendly nature and colorful life outlook.
Tumblr media
Season 2
In season 2, we have Dethlessons (S2E02). After having a disagreement with Skwisgaar's teaching method, Toki meets Dimneld Selftcark. Though initially wanting him as guitar teacher, it's clear Toki doesn't actually intend to perfect his craft and more than anything appreciates his company. Toki even refers to him as 'a father friend'.
Tumblr media
However, as luck would have it, Selftcark is ill and dies in Toki's arms after Toki gave his first recital.
Tumblr media
Then there's Dethdad (S2E15), where Toki learns that his dad is dying of cancer. Toki is very much visibly affected by his parents' abuse towards him, though he still decides to pay his father a visit. When Toki finally gains the courage to see him and bond one last time, his father requests to see the cottage he was born at before dying.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, Toki steps and slips on his way there, dropping his father into the ice. Toki watches his father die and is unable to do anything about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This boy is really just collecting traumas all the way, huh?
Season 3
Dethhealth (S3E03) has Toki adopting a cat he found at a concert. Although he is not the best caretaker of the animal, Toki is very obviously fond of his new pet.
Tumblr media
But, of course, the cat was dying, solving the mystery of who was the person dying within Dethklok. Toki is so devastated that he faints and then proceeds to have an elaborate dream sequence for closure.
Tumblr media
Fertilityklok comes three episodes later (S3E06) and we find a Toki jaded with casual sex encounters. He decides he wants to meet a partner whom he can have children with. Though initially facing Dethklok's indignation, Toki goes forward with the idea and lands in a dating agency.
They find the perfect partner for Toki but nothing ever goes well with this guy and the lady in question disappoints Toki both in looks and personality. To make things worse, the agency wants to force him in a relationship with her and for Toki to impregnate her, even.
Tumblr media
Toki manages to escape the whole charade and decides he's better off with sluts. This one is not so tragic as much as it's just another total failure at forming the connection Toki so desperately craves.
Tumblr media
Season 4
Diversityklok (S4E04) and Bookklok (S4E05) feature Toki's interpersonal problems within the band so I figured they were mentioning as well.
In Diversityklok, Toki complains about feeling constantly left out by the band, so he forms a 'special persons invite club' to gain agency over his friends. He still ends up being forgotten by them at the end of the episode.
Tumblr media
In Bookklok, Toki has a fallout with Skwisgaar after being denied a solo and writes a book denouncing his behavior towards him. In modern lingo, he essentially cancelled Skwisgaar. He fails to consistently maintain the fans' approval as he flunks the solo he so desperately wanted. His fight with Skwisgaar is not resolved (at least, not on screen).
Tumblr media
Finally we get to Dethcamp (S4E07), where Toki's erratic behavior conflates with the mainline plot. In the search for friends, Toki goes to the Rock-a-Rooni Fantasy Camp, where he's almost killed by one of the campers. He's saved by Dethklok's former rhythm guitarist, Magnus Hammersmith and they subsequently become friends.
Tumblr media
Good ending? No, Magnus stabs and kidnaps Toki over Roy Cornickleson's funeral, his fate being unknown as the season ends.
Tumblr media
Doomstar Requiem
We finally learn how Toki joined the band. He showed up late to Dethklok's auditions and had a guitar duel with Skwisgaar, where he eventually lost. Defeated, he was abandoning the premises when Skwisgaar says that nobody made him play as well as Toki did, inviting him to join the band.
Tumblr media
From then on, it's all rainbows and happiness for Toki as his life finally takes a turn for the better. He has found a family and a home. He loves his brothers and his life. Current Toki is on the brink of death and thinking about Dethklok is his only solace.
Tumblr media
I might be biased in saying this but the sequence from 'I Believe' feels like the peak of the movie, and I don't think this is incidental.
While Toki is rescued at the end of the movie, we don't get to see a proper reunion.
Tumblr media
Army of the Doomstar
Cut to 10 years later, Army of the Doomstar releases and while the plot is much about the end of the world, we get to see post-DSR Toki.
First of all, at the start of AOTD it is stated that Toki (as well as the rest of the band besides Nathan) has forgotten about what happened during Doomstar Requiem. However, his attitude towards the band is very loving, stating he's happy to be back with them.
Tumblr media
He's especially fond towards Skwisgaar, attempting to hug him multiple times, worrying and being generally attentive of him. Toki shows both verbal and physical affection towards Skwisgaar over the course of the movie, finalizing in the bridal carry during the before last scene. Compared to the show, it's a huge contrast to their relationship, where Skwisgaar and Toki behaved as rivals, with Toki feeling simultaneously admiration and envy towards Skwisgaar.
Tumblr media
But what are you trying to say with all of this, Basu? Well, essentially it's the following:
At some point, Toki started feeling neglected by the band and began seeking love from outside sources. The childhood companion he never had (Juliette), a father figure (Selftcark), his actual father, a pet, a girlfriend and finally...an actual friend he could rely on (Magnus). All of the aforementioned failed, eventually landing him in an even worst situation where he started.
Tumblr media
However, being stuck there, wounded, malnourished and dying is what reminded him of the best time of his life. Of the people most important to him. And even if those memories were seemingly gone, the feeling prevailed.
Sure, Dethklok is massively flawed and there's lot of work they have to do with regards to interpersonal relationships, but they're his family and his life. Perhaps the lifestyle or his need for ego/power (Skwisgaar plays a big hand in this) made him forget about it for a second, but he knows it now. He doesn't need to look for love from strangers, he already has it in them. They're everything he's always wanted and he's going to cherish them for the rest of his life.
And if you're wondering why the special emphasis on Skwisgaar, my theory has to do with the age regressing that was confirmed in the movie. While it mostly happened over the Ishnifus funeral, I think Toki has generally gone back to the emotional state he was in when he joined Dethklok. A young, easily impressionable man happy to finally have found a family.
Which means he holds Skwisgaar in special regard, considering he is the guy that accepted him into the band. Not Nathan, Pickles or Murderface, it was Skwisgaar.
Tumblr media
You could almost say that Toki might view Skwisgaar as his hero, given that he is the reason Toki has everything he has right now. So I think Toki's gratefulness is expressing in that almost overwhelming affection. Just like Toki's not going to let himself forget his feelings for the band, he's not going to let them forget about his feelings, either. It might not be easy, but Toki's priorities are clear now. His heart is with Dethklok.
Tumblr media
In short, even if Army of the Doomstar didn't address Toki's issues the way we would've wanted, it's still a happy outcome for him and I fully believe he'll have more than enough to work on them. Metalocalypse is, at its core, a story about found family. This is specially true for Toki.
So, I really believe that Toki is eventually going to heal and be happy with the band. :)

Headcanons for Tokis childhood and deathcurse
TW:child abuse
Toki is an angel of death, not in the sense that he CAUSES death, but he is always around people when they dies because he is the angel that guides them to the afterlife. We can see this with Juliette in dethkids, his friend father dethlessons, his dad in dethdad and his cat in dethhealth. They were all sick and dying beforehand (cancer with the little girl and his dad and an unnamed illness with the friend father) Toki was just the angel that guided them to death. Even the cat had a “little bit of a cough” in the beginning of the episode, Toki just gave him its send off. How brutal a persons death is indicates if they go to heaven or hell, if they die peacfully, they go to heaven, if they die a slow and agnozing brutal death, well, you know…
Tokis parents were abusers. I hate the narrative that Tokis parents were justified in their abuse and torture of little Toki because they were simply trying to prevent his death curse when in reality, Toki lived in a cult and his parents were abusive, his parents would have abused and tortured him death curse or not.
However, I do believe the village and caught on to the fact that Toki was always suspiciously present when someone died. There were alot of deaths in the village, not because of Toki, but because they wouldve died anyway, the winters were very harsh and the commune was very cruel. Deaths plauged the village but now they had someone to blame it on. The village thusly ostracized Toki for suspicion that he may be the cause of the deaths, leading Toki with no one to surround himself but his parents. Toki rarely got to play with kids his own age as they quickly learned to stay away from the “cursed boy”, it was based partly in hatred, but more so in genuine religious fear that they had done something wrong and had pissed off the gods, who had now sent them a cursed child to pay for their sins. Toki now has to spend most of his free time at home doing chores instead of singing in the choir with the rest of the little boys.
This is oddly enough the only time his parents show true compassion and defend their son. Less because they actually care about him, more because claiming that they birthed a devil child is a direct insult to them and calls into question their own souls and associations with the devil. Little Toki is confused and untrustworthy of his parent’s reactions and internalizes the remarks and treatment (or lack thereof) from the village and wish his parents would punish him harder to cleanse his impure soul. His parents do treat him slightly worse when a member of the village dies, but they also comfort him and defend him from attacks, which confuses poor little Tokis mind even further. They do this because a small part of them believes that Toki is really a devil child, so he must be punished to keep him in check and to pay for his sins, but he also must be comforted and taken care of so that he doesn’t lash out at them and take their souls + they genuinely feel bad for him being isolated (its a cult, the worst thing for a member to face isnt abuse and torture, its isolation from the commune, they have very confusing morals) a big part of them is still convinced that Toki is a normal regular village child however, thusly they treat him how the rest of the village children are treated, which is very badly. (I still want to emphasize that this is a cult and his parents are still abusers, they still wouldve abused and tortured him just as harshly if he wasnt a demigod, and they dont abuse and torture him because hes a demigod, him being a demigod just changes *how* they specifically go about it, and because of the religous aspects of their cult, if they were fully convinced that Toki was a devil child and caused the deaths of the village members they would have just sacrificed him in the name of god.)
Adult Toki is quite the extrovert, which seems normal on the surface, but he is also extremely codependent and starts to loose it when he is isolated for extended periods of time, wether socially or physically, which leads to him trying to find companionship in *anyone* good OR bad if dethklok ignores him for too long. Like Rockso for example. He also blames himself for any type of social failing or isolation to an unhealthy degree. Now that Toki is an adult playing sinful music, spreading devilish messages and causing mass chaos and destruction with his band makes his parents fully convinced that he is the son of the devil and they wish that they had killed him when they had the chance. Now they are too scared to do so.

after the release of the trailer i went obsessed again i caught another stream of thoughts and again im reviewing the series as before HAHAHAHAH i want to share one thought with which i have already shared with my friend, but i want to post here.
the scene in Dethhealth where doctor started flirting with Murderface. I HAVE an ASSUMPTION that is probably obvious but i have not seen anyone talk about it in this way:
what if this moment was not real in the form in which it is presented — Murderface as an unreliable narrator thought of it HIMSELF as his paranoid brain wanted it and it was his next gay hallucination (its still funny to me that he stopped lisping at this moment, but maybe its just Tommy Blacha got out of character a lil bit when he voiced but in general, its funny if you think of it as part of his consciousness in which he does not perceive his lisp). in this scene everything feels strange and unreal, this moment is knocked out of the way they met a few seconds ago, everything happens very abruptly and looks like a terrible paranoia, as if we are looking at everything through the eyes of Murderface himself and feel everything from the point of view of his vision. doc here seemed to mock him exactly the same as in those of his hallucination where everything pursued Murderface and accused him of gay thoughts.
he thought up this moment to heal himself from trauma and another gay crisis like let anyone be gay but NOT ME OFC.
