Gosh I love Milo Thatch. Can I talk about Milo Thatch? I’m gonna talk about him. He’s such a guy. He’s so nerdy and passionate and I love that for him. Not once in that movie does he ever act like a creep towards the obviously attractive women. When Helga sneaks into his house he doesn’t try to impress her or make any snide comments once he sees how pretty she is, he’s just like: “HOW did you get into my home????”
When the others are trying to get someone to talk to Kida, not once does he see it as going to talk to a hot woman, he sees it as a learning opportunity. He hyperfixates on something and he’s given a crew and gear to go explore it!!!! He is living his best life and I wish I had someone tell me to go screw off into the unknown somewhere while handing me a certified important boy card and saying my old life is handled.
He’s just sweet and passionate and driven and he’s 32!!!!!! I thought he was like 19, 20-something at best! No that is a grown man!!!!!! His best years and life are never said to be behind him, he just goes to do what he loves!!!He makes every baby-faced nerd feel SEEN! I just love him.

Finally watched the live action Little Mermaid and I just. The Little Mermaid was always my favourite Disney as a child, I watched it more times than I could ever count. I think I delayed watching the action version for so long cause I worried it would ruin the beloved story and songs that meant so much to me.
but now I finally watched it. and I'm just. filled with awe and gratitude. it's obvious that the people involved in making the movie loved the original animated movie almost as much as I do. rather than the cheapened imitation I feared, it's a beautiful BEAUTIFUL adaption that further fleshed out the characters and their emotions, whilst also adding new wonderful songs I just know child!me would have obsessed over. adult!me might still obsess over them
I just. I'm so so grateful for the labour of love that was this movie. To everyone involved - thank you!

Well, since the lovely @j-restlessgeek asked, here's the storytime of how my family and I got locked up in a castle (under the cut because this is probably going to be long)
(For context - I was about 7-8 years old and my brothers were 6 and 1½).
Okay so, we were visiting a very small village in the mountain, one of those where everyone knows each other and there's basically no signal whatsoever. It was not the first time we were there or anything - we've got family there and we try to visit them at least once a year - but there's a castle there that we always walked by but was always closed, so we got curious to see if it was possible to visit it.
In the morning, my dad went to the town hall to ask, and the Mayor explained that since it was such a small town, lost in the middle of the mountains, no tourists ever came, and it was not that the locals were very interested in visiting a ruined castle, so that was the reason why it was always closed.
He offered to open the door just for us so we could visit it that same afternoon. With no security or anything (again, not that anything was going to happen - plus there's nothing that could be stolen anyway so), they simply opened the gate leading to the castle surroundings and, around the time we were told, my family and I went and found the gate already open.
So, we went inside and visited the castle, walked around, saw the ruins and read the signs that explained the history... Basically the usual stuff you do when you visit a place like that.
When the sun started to set, we decided to get out of there before it got completely dark (once again: small village in the middle of the mountains - there are barely any artificial lights (it's perfect for stargazing without all the light pollution though. I love it!)).
What happened when we got to the fence?? It was closed. And not just closed, but full on locked with a huge lock.
I think some people might have freaked out if they were locked in a castle on top of a mountain with no way to call anyone to help because there's no signal and absolutely no one around, but when we were hit with the realization that we were, in fact, locked in, we started laughing our asses off. We were like "WTF???? 💀"
Fortunately, the fence was not too high. About a reasonable height so that an adult person could climb it with a little effort, the thing was that we were literally two toddlers and an baby.
So what we had to do was that my dad jumped over the fence and my mom, from inside helped my brothers and I jump over as well so that our dad could catch us from the other side. Then I held my baby brother while my dad jumped back inside so he could help my mom get out before he jumped back out himself.
By then it was way too late to go complain to the town hall, so we just went to sleep.
It was hilarious seeing the Mayor's face the next morning as my dad explained to him what happened though. He was like "I did NOT tell them to lock the door 😳" sjjxksvskwhdhfjdvdhs (I think he even invited us to eat or something as an apology? but I'm not completely sure about that tbh lol)
