Dream coughs again. “I don’t know, like. Have you ever thought about us? Maybe? Like, has it crossed your mind at least once?” The smile on George’s face drops slowly. “What—like, us, dating? Together?” “Yeah,” Dream exhales. “Like—like DNF. Whether that’s something you’ve thought of before.” George does his best to calm his heart before answering: “I don’t know. Have you?” he asks back. “I—uh, well,” Dream stalls, and George withers. “Yeah, I have, honestly.”

George is just a simple baker, spending his days looking after his cattle and baking bread for the people of his little village. Life isn't exactly interesting but he loves it all the same, and it only gets better when he wakes up one night to a wounded stranger passed out on his doorstep.

Warm. Trust. Safe. George’s heart was racing in his chest, not out of discomfort or stress, but with relief, and excitement, and disbelief, and finally, thank the End, he’s home. “I’ve missed you,” were the first words spoken, quiet and meek in a tone George hadn’t heard before. In the darkness that followed sunset he felt vulnerable and open. But he wasn’t scared. And it felt easy to reply with, “You were gone too long.” An unspoken ‘I missed you too’ that he knew he didn’t have to say.

George is an ASMR-tist and Dream is the loud youtuber next door.

Maybe he was being a bit dramatic, because it wasn’t like mystery-neighbor was loud all the time, but it did happen to line up with George’s recording schedule. And, if he had been in any other line of work it would be fine, but the noise was just loud enough to disrupt whatever ASMR video he happened to be recording. George also knows that he’s being a little bit of a hypocrite- you couldn’t exactly expect peace and quiet in an apartment complex, but a man can dream.

a guide to dnfao3tags!

hello there :] i'm kay, the admin of this blog. i've been running this blog from april 29 2022 when i made my dnf starter pack post for all those new to dnf fics. since then, i've made more than 700 posts and have added many features to my blog.

here's a little guide to everything and anything dnfao3tags!

(highly recommend checking my blog out on a pc, a lot more features are easily visible that way)

new to dnf?

as mentioned above, i have a starter pack; along with that i'd like to recommend :

my personal favs

my tag navigation page so you can easily find fics according to your wishes

i also have a masterpost of a significant number of fics i've recommended on this blog, however i don't often update it so its a little useless

every month (or whenever im free), i try to make a monthly fic roundup which i post in the first week of the new month; stay tuned for that
