#don’t know if I’d have Chiaki or Kazuichi die for the class to go into despair

Note
imagine the chaos (and angst) in a danganronpa roleswap au if Gundham takes up the role of being a candidate for the Kamukura project (he's also a reserve course student) and Kazuichi being the Chiaki in this situation—
the possibilities...
Yo! There was a fanfic being made with this exact concept except it was Kazuichi that was a Reserve Course and Gundham was very Nagito like teasing him about it lol Their tumblr is still on here I believe, they stated they were rewriting it but there is some art! I’ll try to find it and private message it to you.
But Gundham being apart of the Kamakura project and being the Reserve Course student is interesting! I’m gonna take it a step further and have it be that he and Hajime as still apart of the project and made into pseudo twins. Like the academy probably realized that putting every single talent known to mankind could lead to disastrous results and even worse - not willing to assist them in their goals. So it was decided to have a set of two ideal candidates that can take the burden of possessing so many talents as well as probably being more susceptible to help.
Gundham wasn’t scouted for Hope’s Peak for an unknown reason, but I like to think it’s because his dad somehow interfered. Instead, he is sent to RC so that his dad can still brag to his friends. There he meets Hajime, whose family was going bankrupt to keep up appearances. And though his parents love him, he sympathizes with Gundham and forged a friendship with him.
They meet Kazuichi by chance - I like to think that their meeting in the NWP is a little true. So imagine Gundham and Hajime are sneaking onto the main campus (Gundham making Hajime do bad things let’s go! Lol jk Hajime also makes him bad things 🤣) and they see a gaint, half made machine with legs kicking in the air. They obviously think the persons in trouble and use to help. The guy in the machine isn’t some regular guy, but the ultimate mechanic, who is freaking out that RC’s are on main campus. They promise they aren’t doing anything, just looking around and decide to go back, but Kazuichi doesn’t let them.
He was actually stuck in the machine lol - had been for a whole hour when Nagito was supposed to help him the traitor. As thanks for getting him out, he shows them around. This begins are weird friendship, with the RC’s -mainly Gundham- sneaking in the main course’s campus to visit Kazuichi. Over time, they meet the others and there’s an incident where Kazuichi is jealous of Sonia for getting close to the goth, who’s jealous of Hajime for being so close to Chiaki when it took her almost their whole first year, who is just trying to figure out how to not get overwhelmed by these amazing people and also his stalker “bully” Nagito.
When they’re approached about the Kamakura Project, they do think about refusing at first. Gundham didn’t see the point of having a talent that wasn’t originally his own and Hajime was struggling between accepting he wasn’t exceptional and the what ifs if he was.
But ultimately, Hajime accepts first. Gundham take a while, but he finally agrees because he realizes that wouldn’t be able to see Kazuichi or Sonia again after Hope’s Peak; they’d be out there, making the world better and brighter. And he’d be alone, in the dark shadow of his father. It also didn’t help that Nagito spilled the beans that Kazuichi was not only thinking of leaving because of his cruel father, but that some teen boy from his neighborhood was harassing him within the academy as a late transfer.
If he agreed to the project, then they both would be allowed on the grounds and be apart of classes. They were even offered money. He can keep Kazuichi safe. Their disappearance affects the class, but mainly Kazuichi amd Nagito. The two felt they were the closest to the RC’s, Kazuichi especially. He was finally gonna tell Gundham how he really felt about him, but all he got was a vague text message one morning and nothing else since. Both their phone numbers were unusable and no one heard from them since. Meanwhile, he’s feeling stress by his dads threats and his middle school ex-friend trying to force his way into his life again to get close to his friends - particularly Sonia and Fuyuhiko. It’s been depressing and he cries in his dorm room thinking he scared his only two best friends away.

“I don’t mind” with kuzuhina if you’re up for it! 👀
👀 you know it’s kuzuhina brainrot hours up in here.
-non!despair AU because I’m already putting my boys through so much in WCN. Let’s just pretend that Junko got yeeted, or was never Ultimate Despair or something, because I’m too tired to come up with a plot reason as to why all that shit never happened. -in this specific version of no despair, hajime went through with the kamakura project, but his parents ended up finding out everything and threatened to completely ruin hope’s peak’s reputation by coming out with it publicly if they didn’t get their kid back (oddly enough, just after he’d gotten luck. Funny how that works out huh?) -it was haime’s choice to join the main course, mostly because he wanted to apologise to chiaki for disappearing for like two months. -tl;dr, hajime is still hajime just with a few random talents thrown in for good measure
Impossible thing 1: Hajime Hinata was an ex-Reserve Course student that had found himself as a second-year in the Main course.
Everybody was told that he would have joined in their first year, but that he got sick and needed to recover from surgery. While not technically a full lie, that certainly didn’t encompass the whole truth. Chiaki didn’t believe that was the end for a second, since she’d known him before. That afternoon had consisted of an incredibly awkward Hajime explaining that he maybe-sorta-kinda underwent some pretty drastic neurological surgery to artificially implant talent into him to act as the Ultimate Hope, but that his parents had stopped it before it went too far and that’s why he’d disappeared off the face of the Earth for two whole months. Whoops, sorry, I’ll never do it again, but hey now we’re classmates! Isn’t that great?
Fuyuhiko too wasn’t convinced by the story either, but he didn’t say anything at the time. Instead, he’d just made the most direct and nearly painful eye contact that Hajime had ever been on the receiving end of, just to let him know that he knew it was all bullshit.
Impossible thing 2: In the months that he’d been in the Main Course, he’d found himself becoming friends with just about everybody.
Hajime had fallen in line with his classmates surprisingly easily. Even with Fuyuhiko who was all rough edges and cursing. Actually, if he thought about it, besides Chiaki he probably got along with him the best. The two of them talked pretty often, even exchanging phone numbers and continuing to talk after classes were over. A few times, he’d gone out to the arcade with Fuyuhiko and the two of them had eaten their weight’s worth in sweets (a story he was absolutely not allowed to tell anybody else, on pain of death via Yakuza).
Outside of his friendship with Fuyuhiko, he’d become the de-facto counsellor of the class. It made sense, he was pretty sure that Ultimate Counsellor was a talent he had, but he hadn’t expected it to come up so often. Nearly everybody came to him with their problems, and he helped them figure out the right answer. He never told them what to do, just asked questions that led to an agreeable outcome. Which is pretty much what a counsellor does, so he’d taken the role in stride.
Impossible thing 3: He had the biggest, most terrifying crush on Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu.
Okay, maybe that one wasn’t necessarily impossible, but it had certainly taken a few gaming sessions with Chiaki to work through. He came to realise it whilst making plans with Fuyuhiko in class, and Kazuichi had butted his head in to ask them about their “date”. Both him and Fuyuhiko had turned cherry-red, the latter spluttering out that it “wasn’t any of your fucking business, Soda” – cut to approximately three days of him having a crisis in the general direction of Chiaki while she played a new video game and talked it out with him.
After that, he’d promptly decided to die with his feelings lest he completely ruin that friendship and have to deal with it for another year in the same class as Fuyuhiko. If that happened, he would be getting a one-way ticket back into the neurologist’s office and actually getting all of his personality and memories removed, even if it had to be done via a spoon and some willpower.
Impossible thing 4: Actually, that had been a date, and now he had to go through the process of meeting Fuyuhiko’s sister in order to get “approved”.
He was sure that had at least half-been a joke, but it had hit him like a ton of bricks nonetheless. Hadn’t Natsumi been in his class in the reserve course? That was a lot to unpack, and he definitely had to put all his cards on the table. He felt bad lying anyway, but he was absolutely-100%-no-shadow-of-a-doubt sure that Natsumi wouldn’t put up with a single ounce of his shit if he tried to lie his way out of it. Which, incidentally, is how he found himself in an empty classroom with Fuyuhiko at lunch, after saying he had something important to tell him.
There was no good way to go about this. If it had been awkward with Chiaki, it was going to be a thousand times more awkward with Fuyuhiko. There was no way he could just say “hey, by the way, while I didn’t technically lie about recovering from surgery, I wasn’t sick at all! In fact, this academy was doing some crazy experiments on my brain, and now I have talent to boot!”, so instead he was stuttering and trying to find the correct words to say.
“I, uh, haven’t told you the whole truth about why I’m here. Like, at Hope’s Peak, not in this classroom,” Hajime felt himself getting red in the face, “Obviously. You know how they said I was recovering from surgery?”
“That bullshit story? C’mon, I don’t care why you’re here, I’m just glad that you are. Finally got the class to stop breathing down my neck about why me and Peko aren’t dating.”
So far so not-terrible.
“Well uh, yeah. It wasn’t all bullshit. I was recovering from surgery,” The redness in his face was definitely getting worse, “N-not that I’m sick or anything! It’s just that I was a Reserve student last year, and I got offered a place in the Main Course if I’d let them implant talent inside my brain. Didn’t quite go all the way with it, my parents were pretty mad when they found out everything about the project, but I ended up with a couple talents so the school let me join anyway.”
Hajime hadn’t thought silence could be deafening until then. Fuyuhiko was just looking at him, somewhere between horrified and disgusted. It was hard to tell which. Alarm bells in his head were screaming ABORT, MISSION FAILURE, TIME TO MOVE OUT OF THE PREFECTURE AND START A NEW LIFE AS FAR AWAY FROM HERE AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE.
“Wait, so you’re saying that you’re not an Ultimate?”
“Not organically, no. I wanted to tell you since we were gonna hang out with Natsumi later, and she was in my class in the Reserve course. Wanted you to hear it from me rather than her, y’know? I don’t like lying, and I feel like I have been. So, yeah. That’s the important thing,” Hajime willed the ground to swallow him whole. It didn’t.
Impossible thing 5: That conversation actually turned out alright.
“Y’know I don’t mind, right?” Hajime’s brain completely stopped for a moment at that, before rebooting to listen to what came next, “Natsumi told me about a Hajime in her class. Description and everything. Did some digging, found out that you were the same guy. Didn’t wanna mention it in case it was a sore subject. I’m glad you told me though, don’t you fuckin’ dare try and keep a secret this big from me in the future, alright?”
The response he came up with was little more than “I-yeah-okay. Promise.”
Fuyuhiko nodded at him then grinned, “Now don’t go making me worry about you like that again. Got it? I thought you were gonna tell me that you were actually fuckin’ sick. Unless being a dumbass is a disease, in which case I think it’s terminal.”

Miyuki listened to Kazuichi, he was.. making a lot of sense. She looked down at his jacket as she felt along the fabric, Kazuichi's joke did make her laugh a little. He would definitely say something like that.. she felt like it was too soon to wear it; but.. she did.
Slipping the green jacket onto her body, she felt a little closer to him; not only that but.. surprisingly it looked good on her. She felt a little bit like she had just filled his shoes almost, like she was the next Nagito. Buuut hopefully less crazy.
"... Thank you Kaz.." She hugged him, holding her hands on his back. "I'm glad I have you..." She whispered, she felt like she owed Kazuichi a lot now. Especially with how much he looked after her, she felt like she would be spending another night in his cabin; she felt like she shouldn't be alone too much right now.. especially with how she was feeling.
As they headed to her cabin she opened the door and noticed the note immediately, she knelt down and picked it up; reading it over and over again. She couldn't stop the new stream of tears down her cheek. His words were so genuine and loving, she folded up the paper and hugged it tightly. He loved her, even in his final moments he loved her so much..
"... I promise, I'm getting us off this fucking island." She said, gritting her teeth as she stood up. The jacket on her back making her feel a little more protected. As she heard the announcement to begin the class trial.
She took a deep breath and looked at Kazuichi. "I'm gunna end this killing game."
Tumblr media
Even though surely she was far from okay, it sent a boost of confidence through Kazuichi when he heard Miyuki say that. If she could go through that and still try her best to hold her head high... Then he could too. Yeah. They'd face this class trial together head on and discover the mystery behind Nagito's death.
The class trial proceeded, and it felt much more empty than usual with only seven of them left.
The class trial was one that had been difficult, even more than the others. Nagito had essentially created a murder they couldn't solve. The killer was completely unknown. Hajime had urged them to not give up and keep digging for evidence, but it still was useless. There was no way to know. Until...
Eventually... The traitor had stepped forward. It was an extremely despairing ending. It was Chiaki, another person who'd been liked by everyone on the island. She and Monomi didn't even seem evil, so it felt wrong, but they had no choice unless they all wanted to die.
The execution, the arrival of Junko, learning that they were just inside some game simulation and were put here by future foundation because they were remnants of despair...
Tumblr media
Even though Kazuichi didn't agree with Nagito's solution, he now understood why the hope obsessed boy had tried so hard to make this an unsolvable murder and get all of them mass executed...
In the end, they were able to defeat her and choose hope.
Apparently... They'd wake up back in the real world soon, with no full guarantee of their memories sticking, but the possibility was still there.
Tumblr media
"You guys... We'll all remember each other, right? We can't let ourselves f-forget any of this." Kazuichi said, seeming a little scared.
Tumblr media
"Yeah. There's no way I'd forget all of you. Not after this." Fuyuhiko responded, sounding strangely confident.
The world was slowly dissolving into ones and zeros as everyone held onto eachother.
Tumblr media
"You ready Miyuki? You ended it, just like you said you wanted to. Don't forget me either."

Wanna know some things I found out about Danganronpa??
If not, scroll past—I apologize that this is probably gonna be a long post, but it's all under a read more so it *should* be fine.
Also, spoilers.
Basically, I wanted to find out about what order they stood in during class trials, and if there were any patterns to it. There are... at least a couple of patterns here.
This takes from Danganronpa 1, 2, and V3, otherwise known as Trigger Happy Havoc, Goodbye Despair, and Killing Harmony. Please note I never got to actually play the games (hi I’m broke), but I do at least know what happens in them (with my knowledge of Goodbye Despair being the most lacking of the three).
1- This is right in front of Monokuma. Those who stood here are Aoi Asahina, Mikan Tsumiki, and Tsumugi Shirogane. Patternwise, there isn’t much. They’re all pretty different! But they all seem to have a shtick (in one word: Donuts, Cries, Plain. This does disservice to poor Mikan, tho). Also, should have been a hint to Tsumugi being... YEAH but this really doesn’t mean much. Although, if you shift Asahina to second and put the first one as the “empty” stand in the game, then it’s all filled with fairly insane women. All women regardless.
2- to the right of 1, or to our left, we have Mondo Owada, Nagito Komaeda, and Korekiyo Shinguji. Ignoring Mondo, we have the match made in hell that is Komaeda and Shinguji, or as I like to call them, Crazy Lucky and Folklore Cunt. Everyone in this spot has died, and if we count Komaeda as a blackened, then they’re all blackened. Also, all boys.
3- Kyoko Kirigiri, Ibuki Mioda, Angie Yonaga. Ignoring Kyoko (you’ll note a lot of ignoring of the first ones, don’t mind it too much), we have some pretty, ah, positive? *energetic* characters. They’re all pretty interesting characters too!! If you play the first game for the bad end, the ones in this spot die. But, again, if you play the correct end, then Kyoko is safe, and the ones in this spot are victims. They’re also usually convienient or circumstantial victims (again, ignore Kyoko). Another set of just girls.
4- Sakura Ogami, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu, Maki Harukawa. This is a spot for some SCARY, but usually secretly at least a little nice and kind of soft, characters. These are the ones that are tough as nails and definitely could (and even might) kill you, whether by their own hands or another’s. However, none of these characters have been exactly murdered (although Sakura doesn’t exactly LIVE and Kuzuryu does get injured).
5- Uh. “Junko Enoshima”, Akane Owari, Ryoma Hoshi. These are. Well. It’s a wild card. Put whoever here, but they better have SOME kind of affect on others. Two of them die, and one of them has a failed execution. Two of them directly defy Monokuma, and the third pretty much let themselves die as a victim. So...
6- Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Gundam Tanaka, Kirumi Tojo. This is an intense sort of set, although Kirumi is intense in a... different sort of way. These tend to be characters that help take care of others in some way, and they all die generally with the goal to help someone out, in some way. Ignoring Ishimaru, these guys might be gothic in some way. The ones here may have good intentions but might’ve gotten a little lost on the way. They also tend to have interesting moral codes and understandings of ‘right’ and ‘wrong’.
7- Sayaka Maizono, Hiyoko Saionji, Kaito Momota. These tend to be optimistic characters with a hidden (or not so hidden) morally grey or outright “bad” side. They might be good people, they might not be, but they usually die (two in an interesting turn of events).
8- This is the Ahoge Club. This is where the main characters are. We should have never been surprised in V3 once the trial started, but ah well. Here are Makoto Naegi, Hajime Hinata, and Shuichi Saihara. The ahoge boys here are all protags, and all live. Their ideas of hope, of right or wrong... well, that’s up in the air, and maybe in the opinion of the person playing. (But if you’re making a fanfic or a fan game or what not, this is where your protag stands—it right across from Monokuma!)
9- Hifumi Yamada, Mahiru Koizumi, Miu Iruma. All victims, although two of them are a taaaaad more complex than ‘just victims’. Highly opinionated people. But also creative! Gosh this is starting to sound like a zodiac post, or one of those posts where it’s like ‘traits of different drinks, tag which one you are’. (which danganronpa trial, where you either find the culprit or die, stand are YOU??)
10- Toko Fukawa, Kazuichi Soda, Kiibo (K1-B0). These all make it to the final mastermind trial! They generally have some sort of thing that makes it harder for them to interact with others. These are emotional characters, generally. They all have some strange quirks about them, but are generally (when not taken over by, say, alternate personalities or controlled by an audience or something silly like that!) good people... goodish people.
11- Leon Kuwata, Peko Pekoyama, Tenko Chabashira. Athletic! They all die. Although, usually with certain circumstances involved. Of them, two of them have someone they’d be willing to die (or kill) for. And they do!! (I almost feel bad for Leon on this one.) They also had some kind of ‘locked room’ aspect, or more accurately, some kind of particular trick (and two of them had a sort of ‘signature’ to either their own death or to the person they killed) to their cases that helped crack it open once discovered (door knob, sword care seESAW). I think blood helped all, if not just two, figure out the actual killer in their cases. They also all had someone explicitly pointed to as the culprit in their case who was NOT the culprit.
12- Celestia Ludenberg, Teruteru Hanamura, Kokichi Ouma. The trio of liars (although much more notably Celestia and Kokichi). They all die, and it’s usually a very, VERY convoluted case (less so for Teruteru though). Do you want a headache? Hey it’s these guys! Although they can also be very INTERESTING characters. (Again, Teruteru tends to draw the short straw, whoops.) I’d say Celestia and Kokichi are match made in hell, but seriously that title belongs to Crazy Lucky and Folklore Cunt. T r u s t m e. It’s still not a great match and I definitely want it to not happen (and if it did I’d cry and eat popcorn watching it—actually I think they meet in, like, some kind of bonus mode for V3... might need to look that up later).
13- Byakuya Togami, Sonia Nevermind, Himiko Yumeno. The Scholar, The Princess, The Mage. Ever thought 13 was unlucky? Wrong! These all live. Like. Through the *entire game*. Excluding Himiko (wow, excluding V3 for once!), these are more fine society folks, although they all tend to have strange or occult interests of some kind. They tend to be smart in some way, probably, and might have interesting ideas of what happened. They might also say strange or otherwise “out of turn” things. But they live!! Somehow!! How did no one murder Togami!!
14- Chihiro Fujisaki, Nekomaru Nidai, Kaede Akamatsu. All of you die, how unfortunate. Usually a somehow sacrificing character, and probably died with the best intentions of the group at heart. And this is why Kaede didn’t stay the Protagonist. But these characters are all caring characters (although usually in their own ways). So if you ARE making content, and you have that sweet cinnamon roll you’re going to viciously kill in horrifying ways, this is an option for you!
15- Yasuhiro Hagakure, Chiaki Nanami, Gonta Gokuhara. The cinnamon roll you put here might not die, but if you’re looking for a place to make a cinnamon roll murder, then this is the place for you! Yasuhiro actually lives, though, so there is that. The ones here might not have the best fate in store for them, unfortunately. But! They are the kind of innocent, generally secretly wise kind. Generally. They might not get along totally with their classmates, not necessarily by faults of their own (although, avoiding Yasuhiro is,,,, understandable). These characters have their shtick and they stick to it, golly gosh darn it. Also, they might not quite seem to ‘fit’ with their talent (Yasuhiro is kinda a conman despite having actual clairvoyance, Chiaki is a sleepy girl, and Gonta is by far my favorite but oh gosh he is a terrifyingly large man who cares for tiny, TINY insects). These characters are smart, but in independent, potentially obscure ways. They might also be gullible. They also might be lacking a major part of ‘common’ knowledge. ... I wrote more about these guys than intended, ha.
16- “Empty”, “Byakuya”, Rantaro Amami. These characters are NOT who they say they are, generally. There’s quite a bit of mystery to these guys!! Unfortunately, they’re always gone (or, in Empty’a case, hiding) before the first trial even begins (and have twice been the first victim). This spot is basically the first victim spot, so it has yet to ever actually have someone stand in it (maybe it’s cursed, maybe it’s *convenience*).
In short! The first ones are usually ones to watch out for, second one has some nutty (or at least intense) characters that will die in some actually insane way, third is for some misunderstood characters, fourth are the intense scary ones that will not be killed by mortal hands other than their own, fifth is for some. INTERESTING characters. Sixth is for some more interesting characters, serious and caretaking type that will definitely die edition. Seventh has some morality issues and will ALSO die probably DUE to those morality issues, eigth has our Ahoge Squad, Nineth is the very blunt victim squad. Tenth is for making it to at least the last trial with some quirky quirks, eleventh is for more definitely dying with a blade likely involved even though you are athletic and YOU KNOW BETTER, twelfth is for liars and dying, thirteenth is if you wanna live. Fourteenth is being a good person and not really deserving the death you got, fifteenth is for unusual but interesting/unique intelligence folks. And sixteenth is for if you never even made it to the trial grounds in the first trial.
And there! That’s it!! Take this! I want a nap! Tell me if you find any other patterns!!

so ya wanna make a fan killing game
so you want to run some kind of fan killing game? maybe for a rp, maybe a fanfic or even rewrite a canon killing game. you may need a bit help or some tips or hell you just wanna read something then this is the post for ya in this post i'll talk about everything i can talk of that ya need to know to run a fan killing game, tho if there is something you can think of i didn't talk about feel free to reblog and add on the rest of the post is under read more cuz it's long (also if you find helpful why not reblog?) reblogs > likes
where, when, why
where: ok this means two things, 1.when in world does the killing game take place is it on a ship? in a house? a School? an Island? who knows! til you come up with a good place to start is the canon places where killing games took place and why each worked well for said killing game
The Tragedy of Hope's Peak Academy: it took place in i think a building near the main part of Hope's Peak, it worked well cuz it fosed all Participants to near eachother so it made it more likely that if one of them killed someone that most Participants would see it and become more likely themselfs to kill to try to get out before they died too
High School Life of Mutual Killing: it took place in the main building of Hope's Peak Academy why worked well was because it was big enough so that blackened could try to get away with their murders but also small enough so that everyone saw each everyday and would notce that their friends were slowly dieing one by one so they would want to get out more and more, it also had places to get things to help with murder
Killing School Trip: it took place on Neo World Jabberwock Island, the thing about Jabberwock Island was that it was made to help heal from being  Remnants of Despair so it wasn't really the best place for a killing game tho it does have it's upsides, there's lots of places to die and a lot of water so drowning is a good way to kill (even tho in the game no one ever drowned) then there also lot's of places to hide things, i'd say if you want to base where you have your killing game of Killing School Trip keep it to 1 Island parts of the Island open up insead of 5ish Islands
Final Killing Game:it took place in a underwater facility, why this worked was cuz everyone was suck in one place meaning any tensions already there would get to the point where well everyone would kinda lose it, tho this game mostly about the Participants killing themselves but the place worked for that too due how well hopeless the place felt everything was dark and lot of the lights were red and there wasn't a lot to help morale
Killing School Semester: it took place in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and it had a dome around it, why it worked was cuz it was kinda a mix of the best parts of the main building of Hope's Peak Academy and Jabberwock Island, it had a lot of space but not too much, only one place to eat meaning you can't just hide in your room and wait till night to get your food, it also had a lot on new things one of things that helped with the killings would be the research labs, it give all Participants ways to use their talents
now you also not base off the canon locations just keep in mind
-making it too big may make so Participants just stay away from everyone else once the killing starts -it needs to be hard to get out, it doesn't have to be impossible just hard enough so most would just give up or die trying -there needs to be places to get things to kill with and places where killing without anyone seeing it is possible and that's about it
now the 2nd where: what Universe does your killing game take place the two main universes in danganronpa are the Hope's Peak Academy Saga universe and the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles Saga universe you can also make your own there is also the universe where Danganronpa Re:Birth takes place (side if you do not know what dr:rebirth is it's a fake Danganronpa game concept made as a April Fool's joke that ended up poplur)
when: at what point in the timeline of the universe does your killing game happen? if your useing the Hope's Peak Academy Saga universe, does your killing game take place during the The Tragedy? making it of one things helping despair or maybe a misguided try at binging hope Before The Tragedy? most likely making something that helped kick off the The Tragedy After The Tragedy? making it something done out spite by a old Remnants of Despair or maybe someone takeing hope to far or hell maybe someone ended up a fan of junko you really can do whatever you want if your useing the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles Saga universe, your killing game is probs one of the seasons of Danganronpa, tho you don't have to just go with that, maybe it's a spin-off or even a rip-off of danganronpa again you can do whatever you want now if your useing your own universe then well then you can really have at any point in the timeline that you want
why: why is the The Mastermind making a killing game they may be like canon Masterminds, doing based on wanting something like hope or Despair or maybe it could be something like, they hate the Participants and want them dead, they want the Participants to go into Despair, they show the world that anyone would be willing to kill of you put them in the right place, they want to save the Participants and the killing game is the only way, maybe they made a deal to make a killing game and then get something they want, it can really be anything, these are just a few ideas of the top of my head
who are the people in this story
oh shit, characters so when it comes to Characters there are some that you should probs have
a main character: someone that helps move the plot and most of the time stop the Masterminds and offen are opposites of the Mastermind so like Makoto is hopeful while all junko wants is despair or how Hajime wanted to be Talented while Izuru (the kinda mm of sdr2) was the most Talented person ever
a sidekick: ok when i say sidekick don't think that i mean that these characters are here to make the mc seem cool cuz that's not it at all tbh sidekicks most times are cooler then the mc and know more in Class Trials some canon sidekicks are Kirigiri, Chiaki, Saihara, Kaito, Maki, in short sidekicks are there to make sure the mc gets things done
a person to fuck shit up: ok i mean by that is the Togami's, Komaeda's, and ouma's of your story, they are there to well fuck shit up, like messing with cases (like Togami), make some of the murders happen (like Komaeda), mislead the mc (like ouma) or mess stuff up how ever you want, they offen know more in Class Trials then the mc, they are also known to sometimes work with the mc
the Mastermind: they are just what it says on the tin, they are the one made the killing game happen, also more times then not they work with at lest one more person then just themself like junko working with Mukuro or the drv3 mm haveing a big organization help them, so don't feel like your mm has to do everything cuz they don't
now there're are some types of Characters you may want to have but at the end of the day you can live without
a traitor: there are two ways to do this, 1 they are like Sakura and ended up having to help the mm, and if no one had died for a bit they most do themselves or you can have them be like Chiaki someone who was there to help with something that doesn't have to do with the mm but insead the situation that led to the killing game, they also probs have a way to get out or not get killed, you can also make a new type of traitor
a helper to the mm: they help the mm with the killing game, maybe they are the one who controls the mascot character (like Monokuma), maybe their acting as the host of the killing game, they could also make the tech,
now if you are are rping this killing game with someone else you need to decide who plays what role when i rp i end up rping with one other person, and who ever made the story gets to play the mm, the sidekick and the person that fucks shit up you can always have more then one mc (tho haveing more then 3 is prob not the best plan), there can also be more then 1 Mastermind, same goes for sidekicks, tho when it comes to the ones that fuck shit having more then 1 may led your killing game to weird places that you probs don't want unless you want to make something more chaotic then hell itself there is of course more then these types i came up with cuz you still need characters that kill and characters that get killed and survivors (unless your plan is to kill everyone) and geez that's a lot. a few notes before we move on -some Characters don't have to be in the killing game like the helper to the mm, the Mastermind and anyone who just helps with runing the killing game -you can use canon Characters if you want -on that note you can also use beta Characters or unused Characters -not all of them should be able to kill for real, some peope break before being willing to kill (canon Characters like this are Ishimaru, Kazuichi (unless in despair), Komaru, Saihara)
mascots of death so now you need to decide what mascot(s) you're gonna be useing you could just go with Monokuma but you could add more so you could have Monokuma, Monotaro and Kurokuma or you could have Monomi/Usami end up helping with a killing game maybe the monokubs decide to be like their dad and host a killing game maybe just one monokub ends up a mascot you also use Kurokuma or Shirokuma or both hell if you want make your own mascot when it comes to mascots just have fun and keep in mind what the mm would their mascot to be also when it comes to the hosts of killing games you can use a human (side note about hosts/mascots who ever plays the person controling them sould also play the mascot unless you go with that human idea then anyone in on the plot can play them)
how to get 'em to do it
so your mm probs wasn't lucky and didn't get people willing to kill at the drop of a hat but insead the types that need a motive to kill there are 3 ways to do this
no Motives at all and hope people start killing of have something else going to get people to start killing
make your own type of Motive, it can be anything from one on going Motive, to something like putting drugs in the food that get worse the longer the people are suck there, then there is also a kind of Motive i made for my own rp of Motive bangles, they are bangles that have a Motive inside anything from saying a dark Secret of someone else in the game to saying that the person wearing the bangle will be forgottn if they die there
canon like Motives
now it's sometimes hard to make Motives so you can use canon ones if you think they’ll work you can also use a Motive from this list:http://kamukuranon.tumblr.com/post/53572459205/hey-i-didnt-really-make-any-mutual-killing-games
now if you still don't have all the Motives you need i'll try to give some inspiration you can base them off things like despair so like loss, loneness, shame, recklessness or you could base 'em on hope so like getting something, seeing someone again, pride, saveing someone or you could 'em on the Seven deadly sins
Lust: there two ways to go with this 1.lust for power (or something like that) so a Motive like "if you get away with murder you will get to be basically noble" or 2 lust as in sexual desire for that go with something like "if you get away with murder you will get a model that willing to do anything with you"
Gluttony: it could be something like "is you get away with killing you will get all the food you want"
Greed: for this it probs end up being a bit like the Ten Million Dollars Motive, if you don't want that you could with something like "the more blood you have on your hands the more wealth you'll get if you away with it"
Sloth: for this you go with something like "you'll have to run everyday till nighttime eachday til someone dies"
Wrath: it could be something like the host revealing something about each Character that would everyone else mad at them
Envy: you could with something like the host 1st telling the best thing in the lifes of each Participant and then say something like "if you kill someone and get away with you get the best thing in their life for yourself"
Pride: maybe something like "if you kill and get away with it you will get the Talents of everyone here"
there's a lot else you can base your Motives on also if you can't think of Motives, it's ok to use canon ones cuz even with the same Motive everything else will be different
ect
so there's some tips that i couldn't fit anywhere else in this post so here they are
if it's a rp make sure everyone knows if a Character shouldn't be killed, i know that you may not want to cuz it could make things less chaotic or it not feel like anyone could die but if ya don't it could end in the the Mastermind dieing 1st and i think we all don't want that
if it's a rp make sure to see what everyone is ok with when it comes to some themes, ask 'em sure it may suck if you can't do something that you wanted to do but it'd be worse to end up triggering someone (like check if some ways of killing are triggering or stuff for the plot or backstory stuff)
make sure that every Character does something it doesn't have to be big but it does need to be something cuz no metter what you want someone to care about what happens to the Characters, so make them helpful, hurtful, useful, talk about something that metters to them, do something only they would think to do, just something (why i have this tip is cuz well i one time where i had 2 oc's but i didn't do much with 'em so when they died it was hard to care)
have fun! if something about what you're doing is making you feel bad stop and think about why it's making you feel bad and stop whatever is making you feel bad, doing a fan killing game is something that should be fun not a job

2. What’s your favorite part about DR? Choose between the story, the art, the characters, the gameplay, etc.
10. Best Protagonist
30. If you were a character in the game who would you be? The Mastermind, a Victim, a Survivor, or a Killer?
It got kinda long, especially question 10 XD, and I tried to be as vague as I could about V3 to not be too spoilery (but it probably kinda is anyways), so it’s under the cut!
2. What’s your favorite part about DR? Choose between the story, the art, the characters, the gameplay, etc.
While for DR1, the hook for that game was definitely the story (I think in terms of a mystery game, it was the most successful in telling that story), for every installment thereafter, it was the characters that made me love the series. Danganronpa characters are extremely wacky, yet a lot of the time you are amazed by their talent. However, Danganronpa is usually able to succeed in making characters realistic and relateable despite the over-the-top nature of having “Ultmate Talents,” and while maybe the average person would not make the same choices they had, at the same time you can feel what they must have felt when put in those situations. For example, Souda Kazuichi has pink hair, sharp teeth, and pink eyes, and he is pretty extroverted and seemingly a very open person, but through his FTEs you find out he felt like he had to be that way, changing everything that had been him to fit into a new crowd after one of his friends betrayed his trust. While I don’th think there is anyone that would go through such extremes to change themselves as protection and for attention, the act of changing yourself as a defense against getting close to other people is relateable. It was things like that that made me extremely fond of the characters of Danganronpa!
10. Best Protagonist
Hahaha, easiest question in this list XD Hajime Hinata! Hajime will never be beat as best protagonist in my heart! I did like Naegi in DR1, but he was just a bit too optimistic, and he didn’t really drive the trials quite as much (Kirigiri had them pretty much solved each trial, and if an answer was obvious, Togami would point out that it was). Komaru’s self-doubt lacked any kind of ambition. She only wanted to be a normal girl and left alone, so I couldn’t quite relate. The V3 protag had the talent, but they held themselves back through their own lack of self-confidence and would always need someone to guide them for emotional support.
To me, Hajime was the perfect balance. All the protags lacked confidence to various degrees, and actually of everyone he probably had the least (maybe) since he had no talent and was surrounded by people who did, yet in the game, not knowing his talent made him a little more assertive than Naegi. While he did need emotional support a few times, he's able to pick himself up quite often. Because of his past experience, he tries not to trust very easily, yet he can’t help but do his best to help others. He listens to his friends and can be brutally honest about what he feels (leading to many hilarious sassy responses and inner monologues that are less nice than the other protags). By the end of the game, unlike with Naegi or the V3 protag, it felt like he was able to create a much stronger bond with almost all the class. It helps that he is actually pretty capable of making his own assertions and the other two characters of the main trio either don’t talk much (Chiaki) or generally are untrusted (Nagito), meaning he gains the trust of the others easier. Him and the other survivors also seem much closer that the DR1 six, where it really seemed like Naegi was always under suspicion and they even almost get Naegi killed (can we really say that Asahina, Hiro, and Toko were that close to Naegi?), and in V3, it’s a little more ambiguous I think since the protag had not been the glue keeping the group together the whole game through.
Hajime, just in general, is a really great friend, who despite his own troubles and worries, and even despite his sassy remarks, will listen and do his best to care for others. And speaking of his worries, unlike ever other protag, Hajime clearly has ambition. He wanted to be more successful and had the drive to do whatever it takes to finally meet his, and probably his family’s, high expectations. He was really desperate to meet those expectations, the fear of failure heavy on his back and driving him to a desperate decision. That ambition and the fear of not reaching his goal is something that really resonates with me and many other people. Many people can relate to looking at other people’s success and comparing it to our own, and then feeling worse by thinking we will never get there. The other protagonists really just accepted the part of them telling them they were weak and nothing special, while Hajime told himself he had to be special, that he had to try. That’s why out of all of them, he is the one protagonist I will always love. He’s the protagonist that teaches people to keep looking to the future as something you can shape, not something that is predetermined, and that helping others will drive all of you to the goal you want to reach because you support each other. He’s really such an admirable character who has been though so much and grown a lot over the span of the game, and I can’t help but feel so very proud of him, because it truly feels like he earned his happy ending.
NOTE: Not to say I dislike the other protags. I like them all, but I honestly just love Hajime way more! He’s my favorite character, after all!
30. If you were a character in the game who would you be? The Mastermind, a Victim, a Survivor, or a Killer?
Quite honestly, I don’t see myself surviving a killing game, hahaha. I also have a very strong stance against killing of any kind, so there is no way I’d be the Mastermind or a Willing Murderer. Most likely I’d be a Victim ^^; I’m a pretty easy target and in that short span of days, knowing myself I wouldn’t trust anyone. I’d make small-talk, maybe, and be polite, but I wouldn’t get close to anyone, or do my best not to. However, if for, whatever reason, me dying was something that could help the whole group, I might just let myself die for the team to spare anyone the pain. Even if I never made friends, I try to value life, and if it was between me being dead, or everyone else, I’d rather die rather than end up alone anyways. If I were to make friends, because in tough situations relationships accelerate faster, I’d do everything in my power to defend them, and try to live for them if they perished in the game.
