18. How do you think they were as a kid? I reckon Engie was an extremely nerdy kid. That, along with being a genius, made it really hard for him to connect with other kids his age. But I think he loved going out hunting with his mother and father (when Fred was home). He was extremely creative, and would fill multiple sketch books with drawings of animals on the farm, the landscape around his home, and of course blueprints and sketches for mechanical inventions.

25. When do you think they acted the most ooc? Odd, you have no idea how much research I did to find a single exmple of Engie being out of character?! I went through all the canon shorts, all the comics, I even had to debate whether or not "End of the Line" was canon (I say it is, since it lead to an update). Spy disguised as Engie doesn't count in "End of the Line" doesn't count. So the most ooc that Engie has acted is... (insert drumroll here)

Engineer (circled) outrunning Scout in the "Mann vs Machine" announcement video. So yeah, that's the most ooc thing that Dell has done (in my opinion). ------------ Please give me some more of these! The classic mercs are the first generation or Jaeger pilots who are largely retired/ taking up administrative positions due to age/ effects from the first generation of pilots.

dell/ engineer is in charge of the Jaeger program and the neural handshake helmet I don't remember the name of. He's made significant improvements to it and medic is there to both study the effects of the neural handshake helmet, Jaegers and general Kaiju knowledge.

They both probably have other people working with them/ under them but they largely work together.

due to their importance , neither are allowed to do any actual fighting. They would both love to be able to get in a Jaeger and try it out

Dell because he wants to experience the beauty of the machines. Medic because he wants to tests and experiences.

Dell finds himself staring up at the Jaegers when he can't sleep.

Medic and Engie spend a lot of nights talking and writing out equations and theories. Occasionally throwing around talks about what their Jaeger would be like if they could fight.

if/ when medic gets to study Kaiju organs and remains he's the Happiest. He almost doesn't look forward to the day they drive them off/ kill all the Kaiju because then he can't study them all

Is the most excited when a New one pops up. Will stay up all night watching and rewatching the fight footage. Studying how they fight. How they Exist.

Heavy and Zhana are piloting a Jaeger together. He was reluctant to let her join him but she insisted and proved herself capable.

They form a strong brother sister piloting duo. Although heavy is worried about the fact his sister is putting herself at risk with him and for him..he's proud of how strong she is as a warrior.

Solider and Demoman are piloting a Jaeger together. Although I think Solider and Zhanna should get to pilot together once

Spy and Scouts mom were a Jaeger duo. Scout knows spy is his dad and hopes to follow in his parents footsteps.

I don't know where sniper and pyro are in this. Maybe pyro is paired with sniper and or scout. Or pyro is working in the engineering department with Engie on a different project

I want Spy and scout to pilot together.

Maybe Pauling can pilot? Idk.

Hi, sorry if this is a weird question, but do you ever feel lonely in tf2? I've been playing for a few months now and while it's mostly been fun I always get this dreadful feeling when the match ends and everybody leaves. I also haven't made any friends which makes me sad. Have you made friends and if yes, how?

that feeling of loneliness has existed in the heart of every TF2 player since the Meat Your Match update.

it is difficult to meet people in casual unless you're an active participant in chat, or somebody else goes out of their way to interact with you specifically.

i find it really enjoyable to type in chat (even with the chance that 40% of the time i do it's spammed by bigoted jerks), and at the beginning of most of my games i start by sending "hi everyone! im googoo. lets all have fun together ok?" and more often than i get called annoying or cringe, im met with people saying "hi googoo!" and "gl hf!" (good luck have fun), which feels nice.

be ready to up and leave games if things become TOO heinous (what constitutes "too heinous" is up to your own discretion), but also dont be afraid to stick it out and talk with some of the other weirdos who play this 17 year old game.

sometimes, talking with people who are dickheads can be fruitful too.

one time, i was playing in casual and i met a stereotypical edgelord toxic tf2 player. they were typing shitty things in chat and had a bigoted name on one of their weapons. i called them out, and said "that's a weird way to act, most people will find it odd". as a result, they were teasing me and calling me names during the game, but i still played along side them. after a while, when they noticed that i was still being a helpful teammate to them and letting them take health packs/extinguishing them/protecting them, they were like "why are you helping me after i was a dick to you" in voice, but i ignored them. from then on they werent verbally abusive anymore.

the game continued, and they were speaking more in voice chat, specifically to me mostly, but i never responded. and after a while they said disappointedly "did googoo mute me?" and i said "no i didnt mute you." and he said "why do you still help me? even after ive been an asshole" and i said something along the lines of "i want to be a team player, and you are a part of my team. i dont want to be vindictive, because i dont think that's right. it wouldnt be helpful. i just wish you were a kinder person" and they said "oh. ok" in a really sad way.

after the game they left this comment on my steam profile.

and a few weeks later, they deleted it without another word.

the point of this story is that even as unapproachable as people seem, and as unapproachable as they will make themselves, every person playing has some degree of rationality and understanding, and they want to be a part of the normal social world too. some of them just dont really know how to.
