K. AYATO

— just the sight of you makes the butterflies in his stomach dance like a wildfire, but YOU + HIS clothes ?? he’s ready to ascend to heaven because that’s all he has ever wanted to see

ayato was doing some calligraphy in another room, possibly writing something to send off as a reply. with inazuma rising in temperature by the day he decided to leave his coat sprawled out near your bed.

there was literally nothing stopping you so you decided to slide that said coat onto yourself ! it was rather comfy and cool to the touch, the sleeves were being quite bothersome as you had to keep pulling them up which then sparked another intrusive idea into your head.

this man manages to pull out so many random and obscure items from his sleeves, so why not dig around to check what he’s hiding in there? just as you were about to check, however, you heard a small laugh behind you. of course, it was none other than your lovely boyfriend ayato. he had his arms crossed as he leaned on the doorframe, glancing you up and down with a smug smile (none of that could hide the intense blush that bloomed on his cheeks tho!). “though i appreciate you love my coat so much my love, i do need it back now.”

unwillingly, you passed it back to him with a pout, he laughed once more and placed some chaste kisses across your face, “don’t worry darling, you can have it back when i’m done.”

VENTI

as much as you loved venti’s jovial and outgoing personality it did get rather lonely when he was just out constantly and all you want to do is preferably stay in bed and cuddle. but, you respect his wishes nonetheless!

the sound of the ticking clock was starting to drive you mad, each second that passed felt like an entire hour on its own. you really don’t know how boring life by yourself can be unless venti isn’t with you. you glanced over at your bedside table, noticing that he had mindlessly left his signature cape atop of it. maybe it was the feeling of loneliness that was slowly shadowing your heart, or sheer boredom but a sudden idea popped into your head like a lightbulb. why not try it on?

you twirled around in the mirror, occasionally doing some random poses to truly encapsulate your himbo inner venti energy. suddenly, your entire body tensed up and your cheeks heated up like a pyro vision as you noticed in the mirror a familiar green figure staring at you.

you were left rather speechless, i mean what excuse could you even come up with? “AAAAA you look so adorable ! my precious windblume, twirl around for me again pretty please!! you can keep it on forever! aaailoveyou!!” he yelled while peppering what almost seemed like hundreds of kisses all over your face, if not for the safety of your serenitea pot you were sure many others would be able to hear him.

K. KAZUHA

— he might cry because of how much he loves you but no he won’t show it on his face

— you’re just gonna have to give him a long while as he’s still processing what’s occurring in front of him

kazuha was off showering after a long voyage to visit some friends in liyue, so naturally his clothes were left unattended to (mostly because you told him you’d do the laundry this time round).

you wasted absolutely NO time to start putting the top part of his outfit on. it was quite confusing at first, and for a good minute you felt like you were fighting with literal fabric but when you finally put on that scarf as a finishing touch it was like some sort of reward.

without being vain, you thought you looked pretty good ! you twirled around for a moment trying to relish in the comfort and the subtle scent of cologne that was still vaguely emitting from his clothes.

“you know, if you wanted a hug from me that badly you could’ve asked, my dear.” kazuha smiled up at you, a towel in his hands catching the drops of water that fell from his hair. being caught in the act like this was rather embarrassing, you covered your face as warmth started spreading from the tips of your ears to your entire body.

he gave you a light peck on the side of your mouth, “although, i have to admit this is a very endearing sight.”

BEIDOU

— will tease the living shit out of you once she finds out and sees you, it’s out of love tho !

— she does truly adore the way you look in her clothes, it makes her feel all warm inside seeing you love her so much

with the recent heatwave in liyue you could mistake the wonderful city with that of natlan. the scorching summer sun covered the entire landscape with pure sunshine so of course, it was only natural for people to seek some level of coolness.

beidou was sitting near the window, bandages wrapped around her chest and she had a pair of shorts on , her legs were swinging back and forth while she was eating some ice cream it was honestly a very heartwarming sight.

you weren’t doing so bad yourself, but the lack of physical attention was slowly taking a toll on you and your energy. you just wanted a hug from your beidou but since the weather decided against it, you went for the next best thing: wearing her clothes.

her black leotard fit you quite well, you had a bit of trouble putting on her sleeveless qipao though - the outfit emphasised your curves and features in all the right ways. finally, you put on her fur-lined shawl, and although it severely added to the heat it made you feel just a bit closer to her.

obviously you started checking yourself out because hey, who wouldn’t ? that didn’t last long as beidou sneaked up behind you, she noticed your missing presence next to her and got a bit lonely so she went to look for you and boy was it absolutely worth it !

“i must say, my clothes suit you rather well love, maybe you should start wearing them more often, hmm ?～” she started sliding her arms around your waist, pulling you into a tight embrace to give you some simple kisses on the top of your head.

“but i can’t help but wonder if you’d look even better with your clothes o-“ yeah, you didn’t let her finish that.

invoking your yaldabaoth knowledge .in the scenario of post p5 (or even p5r) if yal ever comes back or manifests again, who would you think is the very first person that guy should apologize to? lavenza, for spliting her in two? igor, for locking him up and taking his place? ren for posing as igor and rigging the game? akechi, for enabling his his rotten schemes and spiraling downhill by giving him the metanav which he used to murder people? the entirety of the phantom thieves, for talking down on them and the foolishness of the human race during end game confrontation and even trying to end their lives? like, who did he affect the most that he has to make up for it? the most severe thing he's done to someone? ah, im getting wordy again, but I hope you dont mind ! haha (sweats)

i think the amount of damage he's done on an individual basis is hard to scale and compare because all of these characters were impacted immensely yet in totally different ways. i lean toward the thieves being the least affected (by comparison of course) - the people that abused them directly were not influenced by yaldabaoth and their trauma is much more rooted in the adults that harmed them in the real world. with that, i think they along with igor are at the bottom of the list - igor's pain is admittedly hard to gauge and it's likely he's more affected by yal taking over the velvet room than his own imprisonment (unless it causes his departure in the next mainline game...BUT that's speculative atm), but with how impossible he is to figure out and how different he is from humanity, i don't think he would personally want an apology. NOW...that leaves akira, goro, and lavenza and this is where it gets difficult. my first instinct is actually lavenza as all her memories and entire being were stripped of her violently, to the point were she seems to have trauma over the event. she was forced to work unknowingly for the being that stole her master and tore her in two for nearly a whole year, she could have helped bring about the downfall of humanity and she may never have returned to normal...she could have killed her guest under his orders. he's got a LOT to answer for with lavenza, and i imagine that is a bit of a contentious issue in my strikers au. however, i think he also owes quite the apology to goro for the role he was forced into and that goes all the way back to shido. shido, unlike the other palace rulers, seemed to have been hand-picked by yaldabaoth as his pawn to force the masses to choose security, and shido claiming to be "chosen by god" is pretty suspect imo it is difficult to say if this is direct influence though as it seems shido had a history of being overly grandiose and self-important, but it seems yal had more of a hand in his life than any of the others. but setting that aside, goro still had to play the part of the villain in his game, which forced him to become a murderer and endure years of psychological torment and physical pain. not to mention that yal seemed to make sure goro was kept isolated so he couldn't form friendships - he had his power of mental shutdowns, akira had the power of bonds, and so neither could have what the other did or the experiment would be moot. that's. incredibly harsh and grossly cruel, especially when the person in question is a teenager. finally there's akira, who i think made it out the best of these three. yal clearly knocked over the first domino to get him arrested in order to begin the game, however that really turned out for the best lol otherwise, it's largely how messed up his velvet room environment was and, of course, the betrayal. akira had to face that the entire year he lived was under someone else's control, that even what he thought was freedom and rebellion was just on rails according to a god's plan (tbh ymmv on this one, as i view akira as incredibly autonomous and rather devastated by this revelation) his situation is also further complicated by all the difficulties he faced in leadership and the more challenging confidants that put him in danger (AGAIN...lookin at you, tae and iwai!!) were also directly a result of yal choosing him for the position of phantom thief. and since i've talked about it AT LENGTH, i won't go on and on about how the betrayal hurt him, how he formed a bond with yal like any other confidant only to be stabbed in the back after a near execution BUT just know i think that really affected him deeply (esp since he had to kill yal not long after that). BUT IN CONCLUSION....i think either lavenza or goro are entitled to that first apology. and in my strikers au, it's definitely a big problem ahaha (bc of course goro is there too!!!)

#lavenza is MAD mad when akira shows up after letting yal on the team #and goro has a lot to learn since he missed all this #at first yal is pretty flippant with both of them i think #but as he grows throughout the game he does apologize #akira likely still has to moderate tho lol #p5 #p5s #yaldabaoth #cake answers

I hihi I am!!! A little nervous w/ doing this bc I've never done this b4 so please bear🐻 w// me💦 May I request a match up? A vision, a romantic partner and maybe a friend and/or enemy? If that's too much feel free to just assign me a vision + partner, ehe/// Preferably male for a romantic match-up, but either gender is fine with a friend and enemy match-up^^ I tried to be as detailed as possible but I think I ended up just ranting, so im v v sorry if it's long! I sort of fluctuate when it comes to being an introvert/extroverted. W// strangers and irl, I'm very introverted and shy!! Rarely speak and if I do it's just the usual "Hi how are you? That's good. I'm good too, thank you for asking:)" yeayea I'm not too. Keen on social interaction irl. But I always do my best to be very nice!! I never wanna come off as mean bc wow what a bad first impression that would be. But with friends / ppl ik online?? Whew I am very very friendly n chatty ^^ Either very high energy or very chill, there's rarely any inbetween. Sometimes I like to jokingly tease my friends but I'd never go too far / make them uncomfortable!! And if I do I always apologize right away!! I like to say that I'm affectionate?? My strongest love language is def physical affection, if not quality time. I also find that I tend to talk a whole lot when I have an idea or smthn to say abt a thing I'm super interested in!! That's info-dumping. I info dump. Yes. I also really like to listen to other people talk abt things they like!!!! Its so nice :) I'm protective over people I care about!! I've never done it but 100% would bark at someone who messed with someone close to be. Arf arf yaknow. I tend to he impulsive. I'll do something, and be all "YEAH>:D" and then regret it later. And then I'll do it all over again in a fun little cycle :) I consider myself an optimist, but quickly turn into a pessimist whenever it concerns myself. Fun funfun. Should probably mention that I am. A very insecure person w/ dangerously low self esteem, which is super fun esp when you mix that with the fact that I'm rarely ever motivated to improve. Yayayay Also sort of a pushover?? Like most often than not I'll be convinced to do something, even if I'm not too keen on doing it. Also afraid of confrontation when it comes to my friends and strangers (that is, if it's concerning me!! I'll order smthn for my friend but if I need to order for myself?? uhh stutter time aha). I'm also a mega simp ahah! Srsly though if I fall for someone/get infatuated with someone I. Will be so obvious abt it even though I try very hard not to be. Would gush over that person probably. I don't really like mean people tbh. Like yes I'll be nice and civil with them but!!! I cannot stand!!! Rude people!!! Esp when they're mean for no reason like sir??? maam??? homie??? chill pls ty<3 People who aren't necessarily mean, but moreso have bastard energy and are just really "hehe>:D" but playfully are p poggers tho!!! I think I get along with kids!! I have a little sister,, around like. Nine? And we get along really well!! I also try and match a kid's energy whenever I'm tasked with looking after them. I take pride in the fact that kids like me >:].... even if they sometimes scare me-- Ok, interest time!!

I like art!! Quite a bit!! Less of a realistic artist and more of a cartoonist!! Idk there's just something fun abt drawing cartoons, hehe. I also like self ships - I have quite a bit of them, actually ! Idk its comforting drawings your fictional crushes loving you idkidk. I like writing too! Both original stories, and one-shots or personal fics that are associated with already created media!! Writing character backstories and personalities and stuff is also fun too! I've even made my own fictional world with a full fledged backstory n everything! It's very fun to think about. I'm a day dreamer!!! Yea remember when I said I write stories? I day dream abt potential stories even more. Mmm daydream world so nice so warm so fun I read aswell!! Mostly fantasy books, or stories where animals are the protagonists. Think Warrior Cats. But my favorite book series has got to be Guardians of Ga'Hoole. Fantasy owl books, anyway! X Readers are also things I enjoy reading :) Again, s I m p Also gaming!!! Is something fun I do sometimes!!! Although it's usually Genshin Impact, or Wii Sports/Resort w// my little sister. Oh, also pokemon! I rlly like Primarina, Vaporeon, Sylveon and Vulpix/Ninetails! I absolutely adore sweet foods, and baking is smthn I'm def interested in! Don't like foods w// weird textures though, like beans or mashed potatoes. Also I. Love spice so much. Mmm love it when my mouth burns so bad. Don't have a favorite animal but I've had three cats in my lifetime (btw not important but my current cat is named Sylvester and. He's my baby boy) so I am. A very big cat fan. Probably not needed but I really like sword and claymore characters. Literally all of the characters I main are either sword or claymore users. Although I did get Diona, so I miiight start forcing myself to learn how to aimmm. I see that I tend to like people/characters that are a little more extroverted than me. Upbeat, happy type beat!!! i dont even have words to describe how much i loved it aaaaa bokuto fighting to stay on her team, her finally bringing him to meet her mum, everything theyve been through together gdkjfkkdsk it was such a rollercoaster honestly having not one but tWO major angst plot points 😭 but i absolutely loved the ending soso much; their wedding (eAting at a yakiniku place with their teammates and friends pls thats the dream sia🥺) and omg that sneak peak at their life with kousuke kouichi AND kouji fjskdjksjs helpp that was soo freaking adorable and i think this thing with showing where they are many years down the road is not really something youve done before in your prev longfics ? Squid game truly hurt me to the core (I just get attached to the characters and its just game over for my heart). I hope school isn't too hiong for you haha and I figured it out quickly enough bcos it's my alma mater after all!

And thank you again again again for your love for when the sun loves the moon! Every notif fr you truly makes my day and I'm glad you loved the unadulterated fluff I poured in! They're lovely and sweet tgt, and I guess subconsciously after all the angst I put them through, I really wanted to make sure you guys know that they're both truly happy, with their chaotic trio of little sons and their huge group of friends. They relocate back to Tokyo after bo's retirement (sakusa too), so kuroo, bo and sakusas kids end up playing together a lot! Esp sachiko and kousuke...and aiko and kouichi, if I recall whose kids I'm talking abt!

Pls lor I was horrified at the thought of ppl thinking mizuki shares the same name as tsukki LOL and I feel like tsukki wld flip (like omi) if he ended up related to bo.

And yes! I do intend to write more fics, the kuroo prequel is a monster and no where near done, the osamu one is on the back burner but still there! Have patience with me 😊

Hehe yesssss I'm having such a blast rewatching hq w Mr nikki! He was shocked when I told him he reminds me a little of kuroo (the snarky science nerd bit) but he doesn't know I think he reminds me of osamu either, cos hes still at season 2 only! He's v entertained by tanaka and noya cos he used to be in a team sport in sch, so it reminds him of his friends and their antics (where they just share one brain cell!)

all that tax stuff, retirement plans.... nanami’s got it covered. and then there’s gojo, committing tax fraud 🤧 i’d compare gojo to salt as a seasoning but that’s kinda mean, he does have some flavor. like, sugar probably suits him better?? sweet, can be addicting, but bad for you if have too much of it 🙈 AND THEN NANAMI. man’s the whole spice rack, he wouldn’t have it anything less since he loves food so much 😤 he is, as we say, umami personified 🤌

alsjfhsha it’s def time consuming.... like i’d be sitting down w my family and when i’m finally done picking it all out, they’ve finished eating welp 😭 and yeah, the rational part of me knows that, but i’m that person someone has to go up the service worker for and be like “excuse me she asked for no pickles” (except i didn’t 🙈) i’m much better in restaurants bc the language barrier isn’t as intimidating so i will tell them to leave out an ingredient if it’s something i can’t easily take out

I think he’s more the type to like subtle flavors. an obnoxious meat lover’s pizza from The Hut would be a no go, but he’s down for a, quote, Legit Pizza Place. the kind of Italian restaurant that’s authentic! but let’s admit it, by that point it wouldn’t even technically be “pizza.” authenticity comes with a price :’)

haha yeah, i’m definitely glad i’m not the oldest (bc that’s way too much responsibility for me, idk how they do it) so being player 2 as a younger sibling isn’t too bad, especially since it’s the story that i’m usually more interested in rather than the gameplay itself. i don’t have to worry about remembering which buttons to press in a fight when i can just watch the plot play out lol. Nanami’s so good. so good. iono about you, anon, but I went back and rewatched his episodes from the dub and it made me Feel Things. and I agree, it is refreshing to see an adult like him in shounen. esp since he treats the kids like kids. and he makes it clear that their being kids is never a bad thing. I will reiterate: he’s so good.

Rly good episode...... and the robot kisses were very cute...... but I had this thought in pt. 1 and again this episode that I'm kinda bummed out that we've kinda just.... skipped over all the relationship development for juno & peter. Like on the one hand it's kind of unavoidable to miss stuff given the series format this time around but on the other it feels like 2 seasons of build up for something that.... just happened offscreen :/ Idk I was hoping for a first kiss back together or Something

On the one hand while it seems like nureyev is being a Snake™ I'm gonna hold back on actually saying he's gonna betray the crew bc he's been so consistently set up as the villain, going back to s1 when juno refused to trust him all the way through to shadows of the ship, and he's never actually proven himself untrustworthy a single time through that? Like, murderous mask has been the only time he's actually fucked anyone over for his own gain, and he went back on that one pretty quick

Plus the fact that he's only claiming to deliver the four items they need, not the curemother itself - it could be that he's planning to wait until after they've stolen the curemother when they no longer have a use for them, or at least I'd like to think so peter I'm fucking Watching You

Another thought: you know how else you might describe a debt? Something you owe to someone because, maybe, they have something of yours? A fucking ransommmmm

Also, why! Did! That! Bot! Not! Self! Destruct! Or at least not straight away. It's almost like someone wanted them to get away in the nick of time. There's a part of me that's wondering if the fact that dark matters is under mysterious new management and the fact that nureyev has made himself what seems like a very powerful enemy are linked, but we'll see. Either way I think someone definitely facilitated their escape, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was whoever is holding peter's debt, using the crew as a tool to get their hands on the four items they want and keeping nureyev as a source on their progress

Looking forward.... other people have said this as well, but I don't think nureyev is ever going to be cast as a villain here. At the very worst, he'll do something well-intentioned but kind of stupid, and it's gonna blow up in his face. Like, it's gonna hurt, but I think he'll come out of the other side better for whatever happens. Currently, my thoughts are on whether or not we'll see a repeat of new kinshasa - a high-stakes choice between someone dear to him, and the choice he feels he has to make, whether that's other people's lives again or something else. Idk, maybe not, I'm just thinking about the theming of the series with the past always coming back to haunt them, the fact that he's been said to be at a crossroads back in man in glass, and the part in tools of rust where the ruby gives jet the opportunity to make the same mistake he did fifteen years ago, and he chooses differently. Tbh as usual I'm just excited to see how things play out however that is

I had this thought on the first listen but didn't write it down: nureyev is so goddamn smart, like so smart, I don't think he gets enough credit for that. Also him saying "one problem at a time, like [buddy] would say" was - oof. Considering how much time he spends referencing mag's advice in man in glass, even if he's bitter about it, I think that reference is very telling on how he thinks about her

The way that nureyev talks to rita throughout them moving around - he's kind of a natural leader (which, ouch), but also it's clear that he has absolute confidence in her, he doesn't ever doubt for a second that she wouldn't be able to do something. It's obviously a little unempathetic when she's so shaken and doubting herself but also he clearly trusts her almost as much as if not as much as juno, and I do love to hear it

The fact that dark matters seems to be moving entirely towards remote operation now? Like it makes sense tactically, there's no risk of expending agents in a fight, I'm interested if the writers are gonna dig into that considering the real-world state of drone use in the military and law enforcement

Calling their heist marks "radicals", it seems like dark matters is trying to keep track of or maybe capture rogue (or radical) elements out in the universe - things like the knife and the key, which is probably why they were after m'tendere, they themselves being a radical element. I wonder if this is what brought the crew to their attention in the first place; it's definitely why they want to capture them alive at least, they want information out of them on why they're collecting the same marks

They specifically say two radicals though, and potentially a third, depending on whether the book is counted as the third that might mean they don't know about the map at all, maybe

I mentioned this another time but I'm wondering Again if dark matters was behind the mysterious disappearance of all the theia soul chips except for juno's, esp with what rita said about the interface for the bots being like theia tech - experimental tech like that would deffo be considered a radical element and they definitely could have used it as a basis for these new bots

Some Chinese Cartoons

[Disclaimer: this was addressed to one specific person. I’ll make a better post one day.]

One day I’ll add pics and make this actually formal and stuff. But for now...

我为歌狂/Music Up:

Summary: Two musically talented, insanely popular high school guys - but that’s about all they have in common. In fact, they hate each other’s guts. And yet, through complicated circumstances, they and two others join to form a four-man band, “OPEN.” Both individually and as a band, they face a variety of problems: financial, academic, familial, romantic, and everything in between, in order to pursue their dreams. (52 eps)

Commentary: This is set in modern(ish) day, real world. Made in 2001, so keep that mind when considering the animation quality. They do have a lot of good songs, since this IS a show about singers and pop bands. Overall the tone is pretty light. Some things are a lot more dramatic than they need to be but that’s fantastic. And a lot of the problems are highly relatable. Development of characters and relationships is def one of the selling points. HUGELY nostalgic for me and a lot of Chinese people it seems haha

战龙四驱/Go For Speed:

Summary: Two years ago, the genius high schooler Fei won the minicar (4WD) racing Nationals. But only shortly afterward, he disappeared, with only a short note hinting at why. Now, his younger brother Dragon follows in his footsteps, designing and creating his own minicars to compete in the tournaments and steadily working his way up through the rankings. Along the way, he meets many people, makes friends and enemies, and struggles to find Fei and his reason for leaving. (64 eps)

Commentary: Modern/slightly future-day, real world (Shanghai!!). Okay so this show is based around like the gimmick of “minicar racing” - not sure what to really call it. The races are surprisingly fun to watch actually imo, with the technological abilities of the minicars, interactions between players, and obstacles to pass... but you’d probably have to decide that for yourself. For me, the biggest draw was probably the surprising number of subplots, which explore the complex relationships between all the characters - literally every single side character is well established and developed. Family and familial relationships play a pretty big role. Revenge and forgiveness are there too. I got hooked into this show when it was airing on TV solely because of one character haha. Caveat that it starts slow, I don’t know how much you’d actually like this, there needs to be some suspension of disbelief, and the animation quality isn’t fantastic… rip

弹珠传说/Danzhu Legend:

Summary: This is a world where people have Danzhu battles: competitions involving channeling your magic energy into Shooters to launch marble-like Danzhu at targets. These objects have great power, but, so far, no one has decided to take advantage of it… until now. One day, a young boy who has always dreamed of becoming a Danzhu battler is chosen by one of the five Legendary Shooters. He journeys into the mountains to seek training from the Danzhu Master, where he meets the other four Legendary wielders and learns that their job is to stop the evil threatening to take over their world. (52 eps)

Commentary: Fantasy world. So this is like your pretty standard “boy discovers power and works to save the world” story, but still enjoyable in its own right. The gimmick of this are the aforementioned Danzhu. The Guardians are also very important; all Shooters are linked to a spiritual animal/creature/something that’s the basis of power. The battles are all very cool! Quick disclaimer: for various reasons I am more familiar with this show than maybe any other of the ones here. This fact made me appreciate how much potential this story had, but also made me realize all of its flaws. There are a lot of things it could have done better - character development jumps to mind, because aside from the MC and one of the antagonists, most of them don’t change all that much. Also there’s lots of recycled animation. Just keep these caveats in mind. However, I still found the adventure/plot/magic very exciting to watch, a healthy dose of idealism and humor as well as tension/smarts/raw courage, so if you’re interested in that aspect more, I’d recommend this!

开心宝贝/Happy Heroes:

Summary: Just read what’s on tvtropes tbh haha (link below) (Ongoing, 10 seasons, 52 eps each (except season 8 which was 40 eps) )

Commentary: Imo the best seasons were 3, 5, 6, and 8. After 8 the animation style changed a bit and the humor quality kinda went down…well, that might just be me, though. Either way, though, there are so many amazing earlier episodes, and I’ve gotten really attached to all the characters. It being a kids show, there’s no super deep plot or lasting impact of anything (aside from the last arc of season 7, heh. I remember watching when it came out in 2014 and flipping out bc I did NOT expect that, knowing HH) but it’s still thoroughly enjoyable. There are also two movies: the second movie is kinda confusing and meh but the first movie is pretty good and I think you can find it on youtube. In fact I believe all the episodes are on youtube, but I imagine you have those links already

星游记/Rainbow Sea:

Summary: Years ago, a man dressed in all red made a declaration to the universe: behind the largest black hole was a mysterious place called Rainbow Sea, a place where any dream could be fulfilled. Enchanted by the stories, people from across the universe joined the man in red in his journey. Unfortunately, no one ever returned. Rainbow Sea was scoffed at as a myth and a lie. The man in red was cursed, nicknamed by people as the Red Demon. The sinister organization known as the Galactic Eyes quietly gained control of the Solar System and numerous other star systems, sealing off the planet where the Red Demon had come from, Earth, and forbidding any ships from entering or leaving. Now, ten years later, the Red Demon's son Maidang has reached adolescence and is determined to fulfill the pinky promise made to his father before he left: to reunite with him at Rainbow Sea.

Commentary: Quality stuff right here. Best part is the backstories of all these characters, there’s some really moving stuff. The characters are p great - Maidang is so inspiring, Gudong is highly relatable, Diya is awesome... The art style (esp for their eyes) is really nice. ...Not much else to say off the top of my head, esp since the story is far from over, but even if it starts off slow, this is definitely worth your time!

Summary: Kan is happily chatting with his closest friend on an ordinary school day when, all of a sudden, he finds himself pulled into an alternate fantasy world. This world is filled with Zinba, large and powerful creatures that may form bonds with select humans, called Linkers, for immense battle power. After becoming a Linker with one of the strongest Zinba ever to exist, Kan joins the peacekeeping Dux force of the kingdom of Toria and fights against the various evils threatening the land, all while trying to find his way back to his own world. (52 eps)

Commentary: Okay, so you know, I wouldn’t recommend this as much as some of the others on this list, esp since it’s the most recent Chinese show I actually watched, but it made enough of an impact on me to have it worth talking about. I started watching bc a) it showed up as recommended for me on youtube, b) the opening is SICK as HECK, and c) the protag of this is voiced by the same person as the protag of DZL, and generally looks/acts kinda similar haha. Anyway, overall thoughts: basically, it had a lot of unrealized potential. The world and the character designs are AMAZING. I liked the animation. The plot is interesting, with a surprising number of plot twists as to who’s the real ultimate villain. But there could have been So Much More development – we could’ve gotten more thorough backstories for the main crew, for example, or seen more of the world/magic/tech, but instead a lot of the people as well as Zinba just… exist, as static and boring entities. There were like two interesting characters total (Kan’s aforementioned “normal” friend being one of them heh). Kan himself was suuuuper annoying, esp at the beginning. (can you tell I really appreciate/prioritize the characters of a show?) However, some moments were quite well done and epic, and I wrote some fanfiction and commentary on basically every episode, so it holds a place in my heart. Also, there is a full English dub lmaooo (the voices suck but the translations for names/places/etc are interesting) (episode 1 has 318k views??? That’s a TON for a chinese cartoon)

I told myself that if anyone sent anything for Vol’jin and/or trolls I was going to do #9 (grab some face paint and decorate each other’s faces), because trolls.

So here we get to see what U’thel looks like when he’s actually happy, and this moment totally brought out the child in him. He hasn’t had this kind of interaction with another troll (or humanoid creature, for that matter) for a little over fifteen years. He cherishes moments like this.

Vol’jin is happy to have gotten to this level of trust with the young demon hunter, so it’s safe to say they develop a strong brotherly bond (esp. after certain events have happened, U’thel sticks to Vol’jin like Velcro). MMM and for anyone who is unfamiliar with U’thel, he’s an OC of mine for a fic I’m writing called “Foreigners of Hell”. It’s up on Ao3 and Fanfiction.
