Met Joshua Williamson at NYCC during one of his signings! He said of all the characters he wants to protect the most at DC, it would be Damian because that’s his “baby boy” 🥺 Said he’s tired of people hurting Damian since he’s already gone through so much his whole life.
Asked him 2 questions!
What accent does Damian have?
Others have asked him but he doesn’t want to say, because he wants people to talk about it! He mentioned Damian has only lived in America for 4 years, and would naturally have an accent.
Who decided on Damian’s new hair?
Simone - Joshua said he didn’t notice it at first and then he was like “UMMM IT KINDA LOOKS LIKE TIM…”
He let it go because he thought about how Tim has had different hairstyles, and Damian is young and still growing.

Classic Disney Princesses Need More Respect (except for Aurora...go back to bed)!!!
Can't people understand even if they're more subtle in how they do it, Snow White and Cinderella are absolutely rebelling against their mothers' tyranny in their own ways to survive, they just don't go in guns blazing with a crossbow or something lol. It’s why despite how docile and soft they seem on the outside, they’re still pissing off their step moms who are trying hard to thwart them.
They make the best out of their situations, whether they are secretly making a dress to have a small bit of happiness in their otherwise hard and degrading life, or working their ass off taking care of 7 crusty men to pay rent at 14 years old while hiding from their murderous step mother.
Just bc they receive help from people like the dwarves or a fairy godmother doesn’t mean they’re waiting for someone else to save the day (btw especially Cinderella!!! Fuck yalls sayin she sat around she was yelling orders to her mice friends on how to get her tf out!!!). They got help from people (or animals) bc of good karma. They’re good to people despite how they’re treated which awarded them with good company (besides Snow’s prince,,,,eugh).
Btw both are victims of abuse to which they have been conditioned from a young age to accept as normal. You can't just turn to a little girl being abused by their parent and go, "um, aren't you gonna do something about this? Smh where's the girl power?" That's literally victim blaming!! They're kids bitch!!!
THESE movies are great examples of why "feminine" traits such as kindess and generosity are admirable traits and not weaknesses!
Idk these days I think we need more of this energy than like,,,,women punch = good woman character lol
GIVE THE CLASSICS SOME CREDIT IS WHAT I AM SAYING EVEN IF THEY’RE NOT PERFECT EXAMPLES OF FEMINISM AT TIMES

"MY life has gotten marginally better or been unaffected under the current administration, so give the Democrats YOUR vote"
that's what y'all sound like. fuckin entitled. or do none of y'all actually believe in one person, one vote lol
just say that other people's problems, well-being, stability, and dignity is secondary to your fucking comfort under the status quo.
if things are "better under Biden" for you to such an extent that you feel entitled to other people's fucking votes, I got news for ya — you were probably fine under Trump too 🙃

all hate to tiktok for taking 'having a space to more openly and actively talk about different cultures' to mean 'cultures are NOT to be shared and we must be vigilantly defensive of our cultures for fear of appropriation, a word that can be applied to any multicultural interaction'. like of course cultural appropriation is a very real problem but ive seen with the access to global multicultural conversation that tiktok provides it's made people TERRIFIED to even interact with cultures other than their own for fear of 'doing it wrong'. like at some point you have to acknowledge that in the real world of the great outdoors, the majority of people are eager to SHARE their cultures. yes there are ignorant questions and biases but also... how do you think those things get unlearnt? i dont understand how deciding that multiculturalism is an elephant in the room instead of a normal thing that should just be talked about and lived with is supposed to benefit anyone? and kids on tiktok are CONVINCED that it's a time bomb of a conversation to have and therefore must be avoided at all costs but like. people generally LOVE their home and their culture and are PROUD of it and want to share it. how have we made it so that showing genuine interest and a desire to understand something so integral to a person's identity is now feared and borderline demonised?

Your rape comparison is dumb because it gets exactly to the point that you're missing. I come from a place in Nigeria with a history of arranged between young women and older men. A long time ago this practice was not only common, but largely an expected process when it came to joining two people. Today most people in Nigeria acknowledge this to be immoral and some even consider it to be sexual trafficking. I would be inclined to agree. Yet only a few hundred years ago it was not questioned. Not because rape wasn't looked down upon back then, it simply wasn't considered rape. I have a traceable family history to men I would consider to be rapists by today's standards. Do I consider them heinous men? No. It was simply the expectation and the culture of the time. Marriage was considered a unification of families rather than individuals. The opinion of the girl being married off was seldom considered. I don't think every slaver was a heinous human being either. For a large amount of time in many cultures having slaves was simply how large amounts of work got done. Yes, it required the belief that humans could be relegated to property. But that wasn't an idea they culminated on their own. Just like most of the belief systems they held. The same is true for us. Everyday I go to work for someone else to provide for myself and my family. In modern society, if I don't work, I don't eat and I die. I believe in the future we will have considered it a barbaric slavery to hold a man's basic needs hostage behind working for someone else. Maybe it will be "UBI" or something else, but I do believe that in the future most people's basic needs can and will be met without the systems of work we have now. And I don't think we'll consider every person who ever owned a business and made people work for a living, a heinous person. If you judged every person from 1000 years ago on their actions and dispositions most of them would probably be "bad men". At that point calling someone bad in that context becomes largely meaningless and renders the exercise a complete waste of time. Even a peasant from the late middle ages would likely be a terrible misogynist with them engaging in catholic traditions that gave them complete control over their wives, which I think we would agree is bad regardless if they treated their wife well or not. What people like you are too stupid and self-centered to understand is that, 200 years from now, people who look back at certain practices you supported as barbaric. No matter how convinced you are of the morality of certain practices, now, in the present, a different society in a future era, might consider them destructive. Something like lobotomies were viewed as compassionate and medically supported in the 1950s. What are society's views on lobotomies now? Does that make these people bad if future generations do something different?
first of all I have literally no idea what post you're talking about, second of all this is fucking unhinged lol!! I hate you cultural relativism freaks so much why are you so obsessed with defending rape and pedophilia?! just because it wasn't punished in the past doesn't mean the men committing those acts weren't still bad people. a person should know intuitively that holding down a screaming crying woman or child and painfully forcing yourself on them is wrong. would you argue that the Nazis weren't bad just because slaughtering jews in the place and time they lived in was a totally normalized & encouraged practice? you can try to excuse the most heinous acts with cultural relativism but that doesn't make them less heinous. this is such a fucking pointless discussion to have
also I'm literally a commie so I do in fact believe the robber barons holding basic necessities like food water shelter & healthcare behind a paywall are fucking evil

We have only been away from the USA for 2 months. It honestly feels like double that time has passed. We have just under 1 month left.
As someone who has gone abroad for a 5-month stretch, I’m honestly shocked at my level of homesickness. Having a child changes a lot more than I thought. I don’t think I’ve ever missed my family this much. I didn’t think I could miss them this much. I can’t wait to leave Sky with family so I can go do… anything 🥲 Kevin and I need to go on dates 😭
I know it sounds crazy to people based in the states, but I really miss home. There’s problems everywhere, and being out of the country has helped me really understand that. There are plenty of problems over here in the EU.
What I’ll miss the most is the quality / price of food here. I think about how much Americans spend at the grocery store for subpar quality ingredients / preservatives / etc and it pisses me off. Other than that… I really want to go back home.
I know it’s not fair, but it just makes me all the more determined to have my own garden again one day and grow my own food. Invest in a bread maker and really learn the art of making sourdough bread. Supporting local farms when I can to buy things I don’t feel comfortable buying in a store. Again, not “fair” that we all have to go through more effort to get good quality food, but luckily, I enjoy gardening + cooking + baking.
I miss a lot of the food back home — there are no beans over here. Like literally, since I started shopping in grocery stores in Portugal, there are no beans anywhere I look. No black / red / pinto / navy / cannellini beans — NOTHING. My vegetarian / Cuban self is suffering 😅
I want good Mexican food. I want my Mimi’s rice + beans. I want to see the plethora of vegan restaurants and products that I’ve grown accustomed to again. I don’t want to go to a grocery store and smell the overwhelming scent of octopus and fish (Iberians love their seafood).
TLDR — I want to go homeeee.

You guys keep falling for people going 'lol you're identifying the wrong way' wrt queer identities so I made you a flow chart
Is your anger against this label because it facilitates genuine harm towards others (eg. MAPs)? Godspeed and good luck to you.
Is your anger against this label because it is Using The Label Wrong and doesn't gel with your personal definition for this label (eg. MOGAI, bi lesbians, lesboys)? I'm sorry, but there's always gonna be people who identify in ways that you disagree with, and with something as intangible as queer identity, their stance has as much merit as your own. If you get ticked seeing someone IDing as both homosexual and bisexual, ask yourself if they're genuinely hurting anyone, and if not, let them be. You will never know the intricacies of someone else's identity, and if that's how they choose to define themselves, well, tough shit.

i'm quite late but i still wanted to post this so: here's argentina (angie) and maría remedios del valle (the capitana/mother of the homeland).
i wanted to make these drawings as a sort-of tribute for the 8th of november (aka. the afro-argentines and afro-culture's day, which is in conmemoration to her) because, despite being one of the most forgotten figures in our history, maría remedios was important, more than people realize.
and since this is about my hetalia oc (oops-) here's how i vision her influence on argentina, not only as a country but as a woman:
angie saw her as a role figure, almost like a mother in a way, she was the closest thing she would get as a maternal figure. during her independence, angie kept maría remedios close, as they helped eachother and made their way through the war, she tought her how to fight, heal the wounded soldiers and many things.
however, after it was over, they took different paths, angie had other wars to fight and she didn't know anything else about maría remedios until it was too late. it didn't help that all this happened when angie was still very young, as she was growing up, she began to forget. it was only in recent years that maria remedios was beggining to be recognized for who she was, after being forgotten for centuries.
argentina forgot about her, just like we argentines did, her people.
i am very aware of what happened to maría remedios and her story, how argentines forgot her and discredited her achievements and efforts (such ignorance being rooted in racism and misoginy).
she is just as important as san martín, manuel belgrano and many argentine figures, we must not leave her in oblivion again.
