In honor of 2024 being the year of the dragon in the Chinese zodiac, it felt appropriate to repaint my own noodle dragon girl Dollzone Po in white skin. I had absolutely hated the previous Faceup I’d put on her for many reasons, so I was happy to redo her. Also who can resist shimmer freckles?

See for yourself in the before and after below!

The new Faceup is much much cuter in my opinion. I opted for no applied eyelashes this time because her eyes are just so dang small!

The redo was prompted by her new wig, which was the first wig I’d ever sewn like this. The part is messy, but acceptable to me and not bad for my first time working with sewn wefts!

She’s just so adorable, I’m glad I finally bonded with her

Now here is a Soom SG Obsidius in grey skin from the "Ode, and der Abgrund" release with his multitude of archangel wings in white resin. The wings are super shiny and sparkly, but it's not visible at all in photos. Luckily I have a video showing them off!

All the blushing was done with pastels, my poor desk was purple for almost two weeks of blushing these monstrous wings. But I do have to say, they turned out nice!

And of course the faceup has a video too, but Tumblr only allows one video per post and the wings are more impressive!

This Feawoods Doll Orchidaceae in chocolate skin was one of my own, but I've sold her on at this point. Her resin was beautiful and a rich color, and I enjoyed working on her.

She was a fun and beautiful doll, but she simply didn't strike a bond with me. Some dolls one loves in pictures, but not in ones own collection. I had two wigs for her, a pink and a blue one.

These were some of the last pics I took of her in my collection. I had to suede her tail as she was very slippery, but I knew that going into owning her.

Guys and gals, and nonbinary pals, I did it! I reached 600 completed faceups since I started this insane journey back in 2011.

To commemorate this huge milestone, I of course repainted my Resinsoul Ai in normal skin (though back when I bought her in 2011 this resin color was called "fleshtone") as I repaint her every 99 faceups to always be the 100th since the last time.

Here's every faceup I've given her in the last 12 years (I did this current faceup in October 2023):

I really like how she turned out this time. I'm still practicing working with acrylic paints, hence why her eyebrows and lashes aren't quite as fine as last time, but overall I am happy with her. I always struggled with my white watercolor paint, so I think it'll be good for me to expand into acrylics for detailing!

One last comparison of my 1st faceup vs my 600th. I'm pretty proud of my growth as an artist in that time!

Now this Dollzone Chun commission took a while to complete as he was very intense task-wise! He got a faceup, body blushing, tattoos, fantasy parts blushing, manicure, and a modification.

The tattoo on the face is a nailart sticker provided by the client.

The antlers were originally strung on, so I modded them to magnetic instead. But then I ran into the issue of the wig being too thick and the antlers not holding, so I added a billion more magnets. It paid off though!

Just look at that hold! I could wiggle the head upside down and the horns stayed in place.

Oh man, this Resinsoul Ju on a modded Resinsoul Zhen body in dark tan was an intensive commission.

I admit, I took way longer than I should have needed to to work on her, and dropped the ball on communication a few times too... but in the end I got her done and I hope the client loves her.

The following mods were done by me:

Sculpted feathers on the base of the ears

Sculpted feathers along the upper chest

Sculpted feathers along the upper back

Sculpted feathers along the ankles.

Her theme was a raven harpy in a sense and I am so glad she is done.

Kinda funny that so soon after the last Faewoods Dolls Orchidaceae I painted, I got to paint another one, one of the multicolored Frankenstein girls. She is in pink and lavender resin.

The stithes that go from the top right down to the bottom left of the face are acutally resin, I just added white lines over the stitches to make them really pop. The stitches along her right eye and the ones from the mouth corners are just painted on.

She's also very sparkly and shimmery, and I thought freckles on only the pink half would be a fun detail!

I still had a picture of her saved from the owner to show off her cool styling!

I got to paint a dramatic and gothic faceup on this Frappzilla Moon Polaris in purple skin. Her ears are super shimmery and shift between purple, blue, and black. The celtic knot was a sweet addition on her.

These 3 lovely Sheepy Dolls faceplates (Pishu, Puff, and Fluff) in mint skin were a fun challenge to do, as the concept was a glam zombie kitty. So I only blushed with blue tons, gave her stunning eyelashes, drippy dark green-blue blood from one eye, and some very pretty ultra shiny ombre lips. I can't even pick which one is my favorite, at least they all go on the same body hah!
