au where jedi healers take a vow not unlike jedi temple guards, but instead of wearing a mask and becoming anonymous, they give up their sight and wear blindfolds to allow the Force to guide their every action. it’s also supposed to blind them to their patients’ differences, which used to be symbolic but since the war between the jedi and the sith broke out, has become much less so

because jedi healers are supposed to heal regardless of if their patient is a jedi or a sith, when they’re deployed on battlefields after the fighting is over, they use the Force to heal every injured person they come upon.

anakin skywalker, who was chosen from the creche and agreed to follow the Healing path at the age of 9, thinks it’s sort of stupid that they have to wait until after the fighting is over to begin to help because he can feel people dying in the Force, he can feel their pain--

young general kenobi, who remembers his old creche-mate anakin skywalker and how blue his eyes once were, thinks it’s beyond foolhardy that this healer is stealing out across an active battlefield, blindfold over his eyes and bending down to heal karking darth maul and single-handedly diverting all of obi-wan’s attention away from the droids and sith legion because now he has to make sure he’s ok he can’t just leave him to the whims of the Force, he’s unprotected and he’s going to get himself killed----

it’s a headache and a half for everyone involved because general kenobi keeps abandoning his battle strategy and sometimes even position to ensure healer skywalker’s safety and healer skywalker keeps dropping everything and everyone the moment he feels obi-wan kenobi get hurt in the Force to rush to his side, Force Vow of Healing Equality be damned.

but......the Council keeps deploying them to the same battlefield because healer skywalker is never more effective as when he knows he must heal fifty mortal wounds before he can rid general kenobi of a headache, and general kenobi is never as ruthless as when skywalker is on the field close to him, in potential harm’s way

Tumblr collecting blog data for AI learning models without people knowing or okaying it is such a big scummy move!

It is. They‘ve graciously given us the ability to opt out, but it ain’t exactly worth anything when

a) they already sold everyone’s data beforehand,

b) "accidentally" took more than they were legally allowed to including stuff that wasn’t posted but also copyrighted things from other companies, and

c) The opt-out doesn’t even do anything.

It’s just a signal telling the company this blog doesn’t wanna be in their scraped data anymore. Asking them to pretty please take them off the list that would be really cool. Whether or not it happens in the end is chosen fully by the companies, and let’s be real…they’re not gonna stop scraping you.

Also, the utter audacity to do all this after just months after declaring this site a save place against AI and crawlers.

So yeah, scummy.

I love this because I can literally figure out in my head exactly what happened.

Things got heated, people were arguing and talking over each other, it was getting loud and nobody could hear anyone anyway so it was all pointless bickering that nobody actually understood in the middle of all the noise, Dimitri was getting aggravated and... the pen snapped.

Everyone paused, froze and looked at him. He took a few seconds to stare blankly. Then his expression completely changed to sorrow. He liked that pen. He'd been doing so well holding a pen, he was on a roll, he was so sure he'd get through just one more council without snapping a pen... and the sad little pen was now half in his hand and half on his hand.

He sighed very sadly because he failed to get through it without losing another poor pen that had so much life left. So much left to write. So many notes to take.

At least the room was silent and people could have a normal council conversation again.

But he was still sad about his pen. Yet another sacrifice, and for what? It will need a proper burial, he supposed.

i didn't realize until recently how little fantasy stuff is in my world. sure they're all animals or dragons and they've got magic but there's no actual gods and i didn't even think about including magical artifacts or beings made of magic until a month or so ago. everything could've been so much cooler this whole time lol

#ghost post #well i can fix it now #i only have one idea for a magic being so far and its that one of the gods (not technically gods but thats how people see them) had so much #magic that part of it flaked off and gained sentience #the god's name is october and they founded a prosperous city but they eventually turned into a tyrant #and the people of the city fought them to gain control and won #and october was driven away and left severely weakened #but during the conflict that's when part of their magic broke off and became its own person #it took the same form as october (just smaller) and terrorized the city for a while but then it discovered Free Will(tm) #and now its much happier doing whatever it wants instead of what october wanted #and since its made from shapeshifting magic and its original form was mimicing october after it denounced them it has no set form and just #is whatever it wants to be in the moment #it doesn't even have a name and i'm attached lol #anyway my ideas for magical artifacts are much more boring lol #the dragon who rules over elemental magic made a set of staffs that let anyone use magic (one for each element) #that was a long time ago and none of the dragons are very involved with mortals anymore #but the staffs are still very powerful and floating around the world possibly getting into the wrong hands #:) i'm sure none of the main characters will ever have to deal with that :)))) #another one is a set of two books and when you write in one the text appears in the other (like sunset shimmer's book in mlp) #and my last idea is a mask that can absorb people's appearances then if you put it on you look exactly like them down to every detail #truly an imposter amogus moment #anyway if anyone has reached the bottom of these tags tysm for reading and please let me know if you have ideas for more anything

i can't take any discourse post seriously if it says "x side is refusing to listen to survivors" because if you can't accept that survivors are not a monolith and may disagree with you in regards to your shared type of trauma then it really begs the question, are YOU actually listening to survivors? or are you only listening to the ones who say what you already thought and disregarding the rest as a) people who are incapable of understanding their own trauma and therefore can't be trusted to make decisions about it for themselves or b) outright fakers?

I think we have a cavity forming on yet another tooth but unfortunately it's been nearly a year and even just thinking about dentist appointments is enough to make us dissociate heavily and start getting painfully tense so I do not fucking know what to do.

I want to get this stuff fixed but we may have to go private for it which would be expensive as hell if we can even make it through an appointment and I'm terrified that whatever treatment we get might just cause more issues because that's what's happened every time we've had dental treatment in the last 5 years

#personal #thoughts #🍬 post #vent post #we didn't go to a dentist for years and in that time we were fine until one tooth (that already had a filling in it) broke #and then they did some fillings and we started having tooth pain and some of the teeth that had fillings started breaking #and then when we got those fixed some of them got really painful even though they weren't painful while broken #and we've had dentists ignore us when we've said some teeth are painful but then do fillings in ones that felt fine #and those teeth are new excrutiatingly painful on a daily basis #so I'm stuck in a position where it feels like whatever I do it's going to lead to more long term pain in one way or another #either I leave it and the teeth keep rotting and breaking or I try to get them fixed and they still keep rotting and breaking anyway #but with the added pain of the nerve being irritated from the fillings? I guess? that seems to be what happens #but I'm terrified that if I don't get them fixed they'll get infected (if they aren't already) and I don't know what to do #I'm in so much pain on a daily basis and I keep getting increasingly anxious about the teeth breaking or getting infected or whatever #and I want to maybe try and desensitise myself to some dentist related triggers maybe #but that'll take a long time with how bad those triggers are at the moment and in the meantime our teeth are still fucked
