Also to answer your pride zer0 question. They are canonically nonbinary. Burch wanted them to use they/them pronouns in tftbl but fumbled it so canon uses he/him unfortunately. But yea
I now went ahead and back to reading the old mentions and articles about this topic because I DO remember hearing about the they/them discussion and to change Zer0's pronouns but then they didn't. It's a shame they didn't do it because at the time it would've added more diversity (which a lot of gamers would've hated so bad seeing how they were with Fl4k). But at least they did state Zer0 is very ambiguous and who the hell knows what he is and to be honest I think it fits his mysterious character. All you know about him for sure is his Vault Hunter name and that he loves killing for money.
Besides, it makes more sense him as non-human/ambiguously-are-they-actually-human-or-not person to not connect with human gender binary if he isn't even one. I just adore non-human characters that are best classified as nonbin because their sense of gender is too different from human.
BUT THAT BEING SAID, Nonbinary Zer0 who uses he/him pronouns 💪

Just found your blog! I was hoping you could write a one-shot for Fl4k. In which the reader gets along extremely well with his pets and tends to spoil them! Maybe he acts/says that it’ll effect his pets performance in battle, but really he finds it cute and enduring that the reader cares for his beasts just as much as he does.

Any ideas on how I can improve my writing are appreciated. Also, I could not remember which pronouns were used for which pet since I only use Mr. Chew lol

“Dear, this is not necessary, you’re making them soft,” Fl4k chastised as you ran your fingers over the top of Meat-Thief’s head, cooing about how well he did in the last battle.
“There’s no harm in a little praise! Besides, he fights just as hard as you do, wouldn’t you say he deserves a reward?” You pause your petting for a moment to look at Fl4k, who was unsure of what to say. Meat-Thief quickly grew bored of waiting for you to continue and took actions into his own hands, grabbing your wrists and leading them back to his head, a clear nonverbal plea for more affection.
“Of course, but do you not think this is a bit much? The beasts would never stop the hunt, now they look to you after every fight hoping for praise.”
“And what’s wrong with that? There’s no fight they can’t help you out of, so no harm no foul, right?” Fl4k could only sigh as they watched you play with Meat-Thief, who was very content with being showered in so much love.
For as much as they complained, Fl4k couldn’t deny that it was sweet seeing you treat their creatures with all the care in the world. Upon updating Lilith with the results of your latest mission, they returned to the room they shared with you and were met with a sight they had seen many times before, but they welcomed it nonetheless. Few people would be willing to cuddle with a spiderant, but you often winded down by taking a nap with Broodless. It rested atop your legs, occasionally repositioning to get more comfortable. Creepy crawly aside, a spiderant didn’t seem like the most ideal creature to cuddle, with all its harsh edges and jagged limbs, but you never seemed to have any issues.
“Fl4k,” you called softly so as to not stir Broodless from its sleep, “Why doesn’t Broodless hurt?” you asked, “We’ve napped together more times than I can count but I’ve never come out with even a scratch.”
“Broodless respects you.” They answered matter-of-factly as they set food out for Mr. Chew, “It is not a coincidence that you haven’t been hurt yet. Broodless makes a conscious effort not to hurt you. You might not notice it, but it is careful and aware of you, even while it is asleep.” Broodless flinched ever so slightly at the sound of Fl4k’s deep voice. It stood up before stretching slightly and stared at Fl4k, almost grumpy about being woken from its nap, before repositioning itself once again for another nap. You paid more attention this time, noticing how it carefully lowered itself onto your lap, finally relaxing once it made sure you didn’t react in pain.
“Huh. I wonder why it does that…” You asked yourself out loud,
“That’s simple,” Fl4k responded, taking a seat next to you as they watched Broodless slowly drift off again. “You treat it so well, it wants to return the favor. Not just Broodless, but the rest of the beasts as well.”
Mr. Chew had his own way of thanking you for loving him, as he always walked close to you while on a mission, keeping a careful eye out for any psychos or fanatics that might try to hurt you. He circled around you as you walked with Fl4k to complete a mission for the Crimson Raiders. Your small talk with Fl4k was interrupted by the echos of gunshots and the senseless ramblings of a psycho as he charged at you, being followed by a small group of fanatics not far behind. The psycho was easy to handle, as both you and Fl4k locked on to him while Mr. Chew ran to the fanatics, pouncing on them as soon as he got close. He made quick work of the fanatics, leaving you and Fl4k feeling like proud pet parents.
“What was that about me making them soft?” You asked teasingly, calling back to Fl4k’s concerns about you spoiling the beasts.
“I do still think that you’re too giving with them sometimes, but I can count on Mr. Chew to stick to discipline.” They stated confidently, though they spoke too soon as Mr. Chew’s manners changed once he saw you. He switched from running to Fl4k’s side to suddenly whining as he slowly limped towards you. The stark contrast was enough to worry you as you met Mr. Chew halfway while Fl4k followed behind you, though they weren’t as concerned as you were.
You knelt down to meet Mr. Chew and gently grabbed his paw, checking for whatever injury could have caused his limp. “My love, you are aware that he is faking, right? It seems I have to retract my earlier statement, you’ve spoiled Mr. Chew as well…” he sighed, but you kept looking intently.
“That can’t be right, Mr. Chew is your most disciplined beast, be serious, he wouldn’t fake this for attention,”
“If that’s true, stop paying attention to him for a moment. See how he reacts.” Fl4k suggested. You didn’t want to doubt Mr. Chew, but the sooner you proved Fl4k wrong, the sooner you could get to caring for Mr. Chew again. You stood up, and Mr. Chew whined again, wanting you to meet his level.
“See? He’s upset. There’s something wrong.” You argued, but Mr. Chew stopped whining. He scooched closer to you and pawed at you lightly, wanting your attention again. You looked down again, and he started whining once he realized he had your attention.
“Well, if he’s so upset, just check him,” Fl4k suggested tiredly, finally giving in to your concern.
You knelt down beside Mr. Chew, looking over his paw again.
“...”
“Well, how bad is it?”
“It’s just a scratch…”

Allow me to introduce you to: Nug!
Name: Nug ( a term used in surfer-slang for a good wave, idk how commonly tho), will accept Nuggs or Nuggies as nickname
Age: this is a tricky one so lets break it down
their parts are anything between 10 years to just a few months off the conveyerbelt as they keep getting new parts and impovements to their physical body when ever Lahn can get his hands on something new
they have actually been online for -3 months, meaning that they come online three months after Lahn gets hired by Gabriella which is where their story starts for me
mentally they start out as a blank slate of machine learning but they take in information quickly and eagerly so give them about half a year and they will have the mental capacaty of what the book-selling industry would call a young adult
Height: without antenna 82cm, with antenna 102cm
Voice reference: Pascal Langdale as Bagley in Watch Dogs Legion
Nug is Lahns second attempt at having a self built little robot friend after the unfortunate and way too soon end of the first one.
Unlike the first one, which was a trahsed claptrap that Lahn fixed up and still ran on the basic claptrap software and all it's previous memories before being trashed, Nug is a mixed and matched jumble of different parts and robots. Their body is a fixed up and repainted mini-loaderbot that Lahn found in one of the many landfills of pandora, their head is a second hand purchased surveillance cam to replace their broken optic and due to weather-induced chorrosion of their motherboard and additional proccessors those also had to be taken out and replaced with stuff their crator got to joink from the B-quality products of their employer which also included the neat bonus of a grapplehook that has become outdated.
And badda bing badda boom, that's Nug.
Their new personality is more or less a blank slate, but equipped with machine learning to slowly built something unique to themself as they go. With most of their previous hyperion standart weaponary being lost to sitting on a landfill for ages and being very hard to find spares or replacements for they prefer to stay out of combat but are not afraid to pick up a gun and blast someone in the face if they have to, leaving most of the bloody work to their human guardians while they gather intel on their surroundings.
They have memorized the maps of areas they frequently go to, all the local wildlife and what it can do and even names, professions and ages as well as relations of the locals, allowing them to quickly notice even the most minor changes in their surroundings even before their human companions (but that doesn't mean they always know what to do with that inferomation).
They are naturally curious and very trusting, sometimes too trusting for their own good and they are aware of this which is why they have a tendency to surround themselves with people who would protect them in excahnge for them basicly being a free happy-chemicals dispenser simply by existing.
Random tidbits about them:
they chose their own name after like a month of being active, before that they just went by „lil buddy“ or what ever else their friends decided to call them.
they view fl4k as something like an elder, somebody of the same kind as them but older and wise and thus idolize them a lot
they choose to go by they/them with most other people
people close to them get to call them ve/ver because it feels more like their true self, however they are very scared of exposing their true self to people they don't consider very close, so those people also don't get to call them by their very close in personal pronouns
people that are allowed to address them as ve/ver include but are not limited to: Lahn, Lahns siblings, Gariella, Gabriellas parents and her twin brothers, Ellie (mechanic auntie), Fl4k (duh), Zer0 (their emotes make them seem more friendly than most humans). They haven't decided on zane, amara and moze yet because they find them very intimidating. They have considered Wainwright and Sir. Hammerlock but ultimately came to the conclusion that they don't know them enough (yet) and even though they consider claptrap like a sibling, they have yet to experience clappy refer to them as anything other than „you“ or minion so they don't really have an opinion on that one yet.
They platonically love everyone. EVERYONE. Yeah they may have just put a bullet betwen your eyesockets because you tried to dip them in a chorrosive barrel but they still love you.
Idk if you've noticed yet but this is literally pathfinder from apex but smol. You're not imagining things, I admit to my crimes.
LOVES the ocean and anything related to it, sports, creatures, anything. Sadly they are not water prove tho, meaning they will never be able to go for a swim. That won't stop them from watching hours worth of nature documentaries and collecting pretty shells in the sand tho.

The first emotion they ever felt was absolute terror when a spitter skag got a hold of them, violently shaking them around and tearing on their limbs as the acidic spit of the creature was eating away on their chassis. Not the nicest way to be shoved into being actually concious and sentient, but the negative emotion was quickly overshadowed by love and adoration when Grabriella came crashing in with her mace, turning the beast into bloody slush and hitting it about a dozen times more than she needed too while Lahn carefully surveyed the damage they suffered and began fixing them on the spot
has shrimp vision
will hug your leg if they feel like you're sad, then after about 10 seconds will ask if they're helping (if you answer anything but yes you will be connected to gods wifi)
will also hug your leg when scared, protec de baby
does the little happy feet tappytaps when excited and will clap their hands too if they get REALLY excited
Alwys makes for a very comedic situation when they say some really weird shit or attempt to threaten someone in their standart-cheery tone of voice, imagine discords text to speech option reading a ransom note. They can actually speak in different tones, but they simply choose not too.
is smol, therefore can only use pistols and maybe a small smg if they're lucky. They usually carry around only one or two weapons for self defence purposes anyways
would be obsessed with the idea of Vocaloid because that's a robot...a machine...a virtual thing that isn't even autonomous...but also an internationally adored and recognized popstar? Also a lot of the more upbeat Miku songs are about making connections and friends and....yeah, just yeah

First, we want to differentiate crackships and rarepairs so there's no confusion:
CRACKSHIP - a ship between characters who have never met in canon. For example, Maya/Sasha have never interacted in canon, thus making them a crackship
RAREPAIR - an unpopular ship between characters who did meet in canon. For example, Handsome Jack/Krieg, though an unpopular ship, have interacted in canon, thus making them a rarepair
Got it? Now let's get into the rules!
We accept all kinds of ships! No matter if they're wlw, mlm, m/f or ot3s, they're welcome on this blog. Additionally, we also accept platonic relationships, as they will be tagged as #platonic
What we don't allow, are ships which go against characters' canon sexualities. So absolutely not shipping Athena with men or Hammerlock with women
We don't allow ships with underage characters and incestous ships. There are only 2 underage characters in Borderlands (Pickle and Ava), but our experience in fandoms have verified to us that we need to be clearly against it
We are not proshippers and we are against proshipping
As of Borderlands , Tina is an adult (she's 20) but we won't reblog romantic art of her during BL2 or Wonderlands
Gaige is 18 in Borderlands 2 and 25 in Borderlands 3. She's an adult
Angel is also an adult. As infantilization of her is extremaly prevalent in this fandom, we want to state, we're against it and we won't reblog any art which will portray her in such way

Most of my lgbt headcanons for borderlands are fairly common, but yippee.
Maya, Krieg, Brick, Mordecai, and Lilith are all living the bisexual life, you can't convince me otherwise.
Krieg is partially in denial about it. Lol.
I believe in the Mordecai part so thoroughly that one of my ocs is Mordecai's boyfriend.
Maya generally has a preference for women, Lilith is the opposite.
In my head, Zer0 really doesn't care much whether people use he or they for them. He's fine with both and just doesn't care much about gender in the first place.
Moze considered asking Amara out but didn't because she thought Amara to be out of her league lmao.
That's all I can really think of rn but I'll let you know if I remember any more. I think I wrote all my hcs down somewhere I just can't find it. </3

There is something so unique about how unapologetically queer borderlands is, and how it doubles down with each and every game.
What started with Ashton accidentally calling everyone hot instead of just Maya, ended with gearbox calling him bisexual and moving on.
Since then?
We have an entire DLC dedicated to a homosexual wedding between hammerlock and and the leader of the Jakobs corps. Not to mention they’re featured as a major section of Borderlands 3 and it’s doesn’t hide in any way that these two are partners.
Non-binary Rep in the form of Lorelei, Zero and Fl4k,
We have casual mentions or queerness from like likes of Tina, Zane, moxie, Athena, Janey, Ava, Ellie, and mother fucking TORGUE of all people.
And now with Tiny Tina’s Wonderland I’m playing through the main story and there’s at least three queer couples with quests that are just casually there, you can customize your Vault Hunter / Fate Maker’s appearance, voice, and pronouns, and gearbox isn’t marketing it like “LOOK F*GS we see you EXIST give us your MONEY” it’s just marketed as the next expansion and the toxic parts of gamer fandom don’t exist as much with borderlands. Even my CIS straight friends who I play borderlands with are like “oh neat a queer side quest” and not throwing a hissy fit about “forced” diversity when a game is just including people that exist and featuring them in their stories in ways that aren’t just pandering.
Idk TLDR I’m so used to queer rep in video games being bare bones, just to cause a stir, pretend to be inclusive to feel better about themselves, whereas since Borderlands 2 queerness has just been baked into the games and it becomes more and more prominent in the games and is never a point of contention where it would be in other games. I like queerness being so normal in a space as typically hostile to diverse groups wanting representation in our shared hobby. I like that the borderlands community is so loving and so helpful and accepting. I’ve never made so many friends playing online like I have with Borderlands. I have multiple friends that I would invite to my wedding just because they’ve been such a big part of my life and while we’re all very different we share a love for these dumb fucking games and Idk I think it’s special. Get into borderlands people.

Introduction(s)
Hello! I'm not sure I'd be able to fit everyone in this introduction due to the line limit I remember being told Tumblr has, so I may dedicate this one to just our hosts, caretakers, and protectors. There is a bit of overlap between those three groups, so maybe I can also put Jeison and the subsystem we're aware of in this post.
So to start things off, my name is Jack Bright (yes, that Jack Bright; you can call me Dr. Bright, Doc, Bright, or switch between as you please), and I am one of four hosts (and five protectors) in this system. I mainly use he/him pronouns, though I don't mind people asking every now and again to double check, and while I'm functionally immortal in the inner world due to the properties of SCP-963, I currently have the appearance of being in my mid-late 30's.
The other people I'll be introducing are:
Aron - our original host; as far as we know, he's the same age as the body (24, soon to be 25) and he uses he/him, ze/hir, and end/ends pronouns. He's currently on break from fronting, though there are some signs that suggest he may be back soon.
Thyme - another of our hosts (also a caretaker); she's around 22 years old, uses any and all pronouns, and is currently the more likely of the other hosts to be seen in front. Also is one of those who looks after the physical health of us and those close to us.
Cyrus - host, protector, and fictive(?) of Karl Heisenberg from Resident Evil: Village; he uses he/him and gear/gears pronouns and is also currently on break from fronting. We aren't sure when he'll be back, but he'll come back eventually.
Ozpin - caretaker and protector; he uses he/they pronouns and seems to enjoy talking about RWBY with fans/other fictives. He generally works in 'opposite' areas to our other caretaker/protector in the sense that he looks out for others' mental health and our safety.
James - our other caretaker/protector; he uses he/him pronouns and looks after others' safety and our mental health. Isn't really one for source talk, but will indulge others in it for a little while.
Fl4k - another of our caretakers; uses they/them pronouns and is generally the one making sure us and those close are 'properly maintained' (letting us know when we need food and whatnot), which I find ironic, since they themself don't need to eat.
Handsome Jack - our other protector; uses any pronouns except for it/its and generally prioritizes our emotional well-being and the rights we're supposed to have over most things (apparently even if it means some of the rest of us face consequences for it later, so.... not the most efficient protector)
Jeison - not sure what their role is yet (if they have one); uses they/them pronouns and is our first non-fictive humanoid. There may be others, but we aren't sure yet.
the Medical Madness subsystem
Zed - host of the subsystem (and possible caretaker); uses he/him pronouns and is one of the ones who usually does any necessary first aid on our body (or sometimes for those close to us)
Ludwig - another possible caretaker; uses he/they pronouns and is generally the doctor of the group (though both Zed and Stein are referred to as doctors as well)
Stein - not sure on his role; uses he/him pronouns, is a fictive of Dr. Stein from Soul Eater.
Soul - also not sure on role; uses he/they pronouns and is also from Soul Eater.
....This only covers about half of the members in our system so far... possibly a little less than half, but I figured since none of us are really sure about the role(s) of the rest of the system, perhaps let them introduce themselves later.

i didn’t die i just fell in love with that skill tree creator and have done nothing for the past few days but make skill trees and sleep for 3 hour intervals. im very excited for the gameplay on Wednesday but oh man oh me oh my i gotta catch up on a lot of posts lol
tl;dr: Fl4k is a badass. Stop misgendering them or I’ll show up at your home at 3am local time every time and then eat your spine. Bonus: Mr. Chew being an ‘Eridian skag’ is probably due to some funky mutation from eridium/slag/eridian stuff. Kinda like how Threshers have the ability to make singularities because they are native to Elpis, which is a big ol’ Eridian base (which i totally addressed in this post lol). I also gave my opinion on Fl4k’s skills in general, if you’re interested in that. Overall, a very awesome trailer! Definitely lived up to the hype.
i said it before, this trailer was one of the best ones. definitely #2 for me, Zane is still at #1 because i actually laughed during it. the music in this one is definitely the best out of all 4 tho. seems like they’re all variations of the same song, i like this one best. I need this soundtrack sooo bad.
also i know probably no one else following this blog watches one piece but like
that first footstep with the studded boot and the sound effect immediately flung me back to katakuri. god katakuri was a badass. i was so excited to see that fight animated.
mr chew spinning around is my favorite thing ever. i love that you can tell the personality of the pets just from watching the intro.
i know fl4k is like a real badass in this trailer, but i get the feeling they’re going to end up being at least a little soft for their pets. i mean... they have stuffed animals of them ffs.

it looks like their jabber went through the most design changes out of all of the pets. that or this is yet another upgrade (since each pet has 3 states). maybe this is the beefcake version.

(also, notice how fl4k uses ‘he’ for mr chew. it’s almost as if they understand the concept of gender, chose their own pronouns, and your argument that they only are nonbinary only because they “don’t understand yet” is invalid! Fl4k is canonically nonbinary and uses they/them/theirs pronouns as confirmed by both SungWon Cho and their in-game skills.
Now that you know, use they/them/theirs for Fl4k or get off my blog. Because by not doing so, you are disrespecting the devs’ wishes for this character AND the nonbinary people who find representation in them and I won’t support that. if you feel like arguing your reasons to purposefully misgender them even after knowing this, please DM me so I can block you. thanks!
For those of you out there actually making an effort: mistakes happen, especially if Fl4k is the first NB person you’ve learned about. Just make sure to correct yourself then move on, and we’re okay. Everyone has to learn sometime and it’s better to put in the effort than not care at all. It will become second nature.)
Fl4k is such a badass, they really are way different than i expected (personality-wise), but i am not complaining. gearbox knows me better than i know myself, so i know i’m going to end up loving Fl4k anyway. ProZD did such a fantastic job, i honestly did not recognize him at first! i can tell with certain words now, but wow i am blown away.
i hope we’re able to climb that bird’s nest lookin’ thing in the back. it would be perfect for sniping and/or placing ur clone for maximum coverage.

idk i feel obligated to give my opinions of Fl4k over here since they were recently released. I am digging them 100%, tho i was kinda surprised (not in a bad way) they’re not as... i guess soft as i was expecting from their character design with the plushes and the face on the backpack and the smiley face pin, but i imagine that’s different when they’re interacting with their pets. im super curious to see how this VH group’s dynamic is going to go.
mechanically, their skills seem perfect for people who loved sniper Zer0 and in general Mordecai, with a splash of Salvador tossed in for good luck. I am a dirty melee Zer0 main and i prefered Phasewalking over Bloodwing (altho i still play mordy bc he’s best bl1 VH) so, while I am definitely going to give Fl4k a go, they’re not my main bl3 Vault Hunter, that’s reserved for Zane and his lovely ability to befuddle enemies and run around. Funnily enough, I’m not even a fan of pet classes, so Fl4k being second in my play order is pretty funny. Tho, yeah, Amara being last is also pretty weird. I guess I don’t necessarily enjoy melee, I just enjoy messing with the bad guys lol
ohh, also, I am most interested in the upgrade for mr. chew that gives him the ability to create singularities and is called ‘Eridian Skag’.
so I’m not saying my theory that the threshers on the moon were connected to Eridians was right, I’m just saying they’re the only form of wildlife we know that has a singularity ability (outside of Mr. Chew, apparently).
im just saying gearbox, you should hire me to write your deep lore for you cause i’d do it for free
im wondering if we’ll be seeing skags with wormhole abilities in bl3. maybe the constant exposure to slag is starting to mutate them further beyond just elemental bonuses (on badass skags). We know Maya’s phaselock has a singularity ability (so does Amara’s phasegrasp), and that is sorta ‘occurring naturally’ (you know, as natural as siren powers can get) unlike the singularity grenades we encounter which use our known technology. plus, uh, whatever happened to the destroyer’s eye in TPS that made it create a singularity/wormhole by injecting it with a fuckload of slag. that probably has something to do with this as well.
but geez i really hope mr. chew is okay with being all slag/eridium-ed up. i guess being badass elemental skags doesn’t appear to hurt them, just make them more powerful, unlike humans. maybe that has something to do with sentience, if slag/eridium/eridian stuff actually is driving bandits crazy. could explain why/if the jabber doesn’t get an element like the skag (eridian skag) and spiderant (fire) do, since they’re described as semi-sentient...
anyway.
Fl4k is cool. Definitely a neat trailer- my second favorite for sure- and the skill tree drop blew me away because i was not expecting it. im expecting a lot of Fl4k mains in the first few weeks of gameplay because they look like a lot of fun!
EDIT: i was wrong, in the newest IGN vid, it turns out we ARE near the recruitment center, because that IS the recruitment center
they gave them little orange flags! good to know!!

I‘ll be forever saddened that german doesn‘t have gender neutral pronouns the way english does. Best we have to offer is es/das and all the nbs I know would rather go by other pronouns bc es and das are almost exclusively used for objects and things and to them it just feels weird and self-dehumanizing to use them.
This is obviously just the experience of the 5 nb peeps I have semi-regular contact with, I‘m sure that there are some nbs out there that go by es/das but it just makes me really sad that there are probably more nb folks out there that just don‘t have a label they can comortably use in german to be adressed by that also fits their identity.
Probably for the same reason our dubs and translations of media often lack gender neutrality for nb characters that go by they/them in english. The example that I probably had the most contact with being Fl4k from the borderlands series. They sound extremely masculine and also for some dumb reason a lot of peeps have the tendendcy to gender robots as male unless they are built specifically to appear more fem (tells you a lot about male being seen as the standart, doesn‘t it eh?) and in the german version they made them go by er(he/him).
On one hand I get it bc Fl4k is a sentient being, they are a whole ass person and deserve to be adressed as such and es/das will feel more like you‘re addressing them as an object to most german people but don‘t we have these cool neo pronound thingies? Like Xier/Sier? They’ve been a thing since 2009 and I have literally never seen them be used in media for characters but I‘ve definetly seen people go by them in articles floating around and in queer forums and every time a new nb character pops up and they just get what ever their voice sounds like or what gender they visually align with the most stuck onto them instead of using one of these I am seething.
We have an option for nb folks. It works just the same as all the other pronouns we have and its such a shame that noone uses it bc its not „historricly rooted in our language“ (calling massive bullshit on that one specifically) or people simply dont‘t know they even have the option to use them bc they dont‘t know these pronouns exist. Actually having it be used in popular media would be such an easy way to get people used to them but nooooooo instead we‘re sticking nb characters into the age old boxes that they are supposed to be outside of.
EDIT: *insert carcrash noises as I slip and slide back onto this post* OMG I COMPLETELY FORGOT BLOODHOUND!!! BLOODHOUND FROM APEX LEGENDS HAS THE NEOPRONOUNS ON THEIR OFFICIAL PAGE!!! I actually knew about them for months but kinda forgot bc I don‘t play apex but a lovely commenter reminded me! Thank you lovely commenter!

Their action skills let them send forth dive-bombing Rakk, teleport Gamma Burst-irradiated pets through rifts, and even Fade Way to temporarily become invisible while moving faster and regenerating health. Gearbox stealth-released info on FL4K's skill trees June 10 or earlier! It looks like FL4K's pets will be persistent (i.e. no need to summon them and no timer) while the action skills will be completely separate. EDIT: Because pets are persistent, existing speculation that a burst of hearts just before FL4K's skag appears beside them in a gameplay trailer indicates a healing nova on summon may be incorrect (image from mentalmars.com).
It's a bit hard to tell, but I believe the action skill for summoning irradiated pets through rifts is what we saw in the latest trailer, in which case it appears that this action skill allows you to briefly have all three pets out at once. However, this could be wrong and the plural could refer to the teleport being compatible with each of their three pets and not mean that more than one pet gets teleported. Summoning all three could even be an augment, with the normal version of the skill simply teleporting and buffing the equipped pet (which would allow greater control over pets, as referred to in the interview on Tuesday).

I believe it's more likely that pets can be incapacitated, and that they appear again on their own after a cooldown. The hearts likely exist as a visual indicator that a pet has respawned, as healing novas or other bonuses on pet respawn would encourage playstyles minimising pet survivability. Thus far Gearbox has been good about maintaining consistency between playstyle and character in the BL series, so encouraging FL4K builds based on pet death seem unlikely.
Summoning Rakk could be a great instant damage skill for agile/problematic enemies, but we have yet to see if this is significantly different from Bloodwing. It's worth noting that the grammar here seems to imply that FL4K summons multiple Rakk ("dive-bombing Rakk", not "a dive-bombing Rakk"). This seems like a skill that could significantly change based on augments.
It's unclear whether there are any damage bonuses associated with going invisible. This could be a rare instance of an action skill that is purely survival/mobility based, but it's also possible that the way damage is delivered is based on augments and so GB may want to avoid describing the skill in more detail. Augments could even serve to determine whether this is a damage or survival based skill.
