I think Gepard would also probably like to pick him up by the scruff like a kitten (and throw him in jail) !
Thank you for the compliment @durasposts ;w; I have been enjoying doodling Sampo so I am glad he's been appreciated!

To aid me on my quest of extreme procrastination, I've decided to translate the French version of The Dragon's Code. For context, the non-English versions of the Thea Stilton books have little extended scenes at the end that are basically just the main characters chilling after solving the mystery. There's quite a bit to translate, so I'm breaking it up and just translating one character per post.
Starting off with Violet!
Right off the bat she writes a letter to Colette, complaining about the nicknames that they gave Vi. She acknowledges the other nicknames Colette gives her friends, like calling Pamela "Pam" and Nicky "Nic" (And Violet points out that it's a bit excessive, since Nicky's already an abbreviated name). Violet then addresses the nicknames that Colette gave her: "Vivi" and "Princess". She hates these nicknames with a burning passion.
In fact, Violet is being so incredibly petty about it that she comes up with a couple of amazing nicknames for Colette to get back at her. My favorites include:
"Collante": Sticky
"Cocotte": Casserole
"Colique": Colic (I had to look this one up to understand the joke; Colic is frequent, prolonged and intense crying or fussiness in a healthy infant. Violet's basically using a fancy term for cry-baby.)
These jokes wouldn't have worked as well in the English version, but they're hilarious in French.
Then she writes a list of various things that annoy her, like loud music (dangit pamela), nicknames (looking at you colette), people who talk while she's trying to study, etc., etc.
However, the next letter Violet writes is to her parents, in which she mentions that she has some new friends! She's like: "Hey Dad, I know I'm terribly shy and introverted and most people view me as a dismissive, short-tempered person, but I have friends now! Even I'm surprised by this development!"
Honestly, it's very sweet to see how much happier Violet is after properly getting to know and become friends with the other Thea Sisters. Despite all of their differences, Violet has grown to appreciate their company and uniqueness. She ends off her letter with a hopeful little note:
"P.S: Raxford (Mouseford in other translations) has an amphitheatre where we can give concerts. Wouldn't it be great if we could organize one and have you come?"
All in all, very cute extended scenes :)

I've been thinking about the tragedy of Elizabeth Woodville living to see the death of her family name.
I don't mean her family with her husband, which lived on through her daughter and grandson. I mean her own.
Her sisters died, one by one, many of them after 1485. When Elizabeth died, only Katherine was left, and she would die before the turn of the century as well.
All her brothers died, too. Lewis died in childhood. John was executed. Anthony was murdered. Lionel died suddenly in the peak of Richard's reign, unable to see his niece become queen. Edward perished at war. Richard died in grieving peace. For all the violence and judgement the family endured, it was "an accident of biology" that ended their line: none of the brothers left heirs, and the Woodville name was extinguished. We know the family was aware of this. We know they mourned it, too:
“Buy a bell to be a tenor at Grafton to the bells now there, for a remembrance of the last of my blood.”
Elizabeth lived through the deposition and death of her young sons, and lived to see the end of her own family name. It must have been such a haunting loss, on both sides.

for someone who allegedly doesn’t believe in past lives I can tell you a lot about my past life. picture: I am a young fifer for the british army during the american war of independence. I have no connections and no prospects, just a talent for music and a zeal for my country, and my fellow infantrymen regard me with a strange mix of pity and fondness for my quiet but hardworking demeanor. I die prematurely and unceremoniously by way of rebel musket ball

There is something striking about how similar Joker Out's current career trajectory is to Adam Lambert's regarding Finland. Also something reassuring about that fact.

“Freckles are where a soulmate kissed you in a past life”
The darker your freckles, the longer you’ve been in contact with your soulmate throughout history.
Felix’s freckles are dark and saturated.
In every lifetime, no matter the odds, Felix always finds his soulmate.
And in every lifetime, his soulmate peppers his face in kisses. A promise, a vow, that he will find him again in the next lifetime. Those kisses honoring the many lives lived before the current.
Chan though
Our moon coded boy
His freckles are faint, and only come out in the sunlight.
There’s two reasons for faint freckles
1. Your soul is new; you haven’t had a lot of time with your soulmate yet.
2. You’ve been separated from your soulmate for an extended amount of time,
For Chan, he’s the second option. Although his soulmate exists in every lifetime, they always pass each other; just like the sun and moon.
In one lifetime, his soulmate died young. In another, his soulmate lived oceans away, and the technology wasn’t there yet to have any chance of connecting them. In another, his soulmate was in love with another; right person wrong time.
Once in a while the heavens take pity on them, and will give their souls a chance to connect. It’s not often; lifetimes will go by before they meet again, just like a solar eclipse.
In the lifetimes their souls do meet, it’s like a feeling of home. His soulmate kisses him as much as he can, showering him in all the love he can before the clock runs out. Who knows when they’ll reunite again.
His freckles only come out in the sun; a reminder that he’s loved and his soulmate is out there loving him, even if they can’t connect in this lifetime

What's a bitty?
oh boy. SO- allow me to indulge you in a small fragment of fandom history ( i guess )
WELCOME TO THE UNDERTALE FANDOM OF 2015-16; if you were at all involved with the popular fandom AU blogs / circles of the time & you had a favorite character IN these fandom spaces ( lots of sans & papyruses as the top figureheads from what all i could see ), you could technically “ adopt “ them through the form of a “ bitty! “
“ a BITTY! “ you eagerly declare, albeit very confused, “ now, what is a ‘ bitty? ‘ “
from what i can remember based on experience -- don’t quote me on this as it’s OFFICIAL definition, but a bitty was like... a smaller, tinier, slightly dumber “ pet “ version of whatever character you liked & wanted to “ adopt “ from; just a little Thing you could take care of & interact with, & have interact with your home, life, work, other pets, or even other bitties you could adopt of other characters--
THIS all in a fictional, roleplay fashion, of course. it was one mass roleplay.
but, a dedicated fictional, roleplaying fashion nonetheless! a lot of times, bitties included little references & lists from the sources of the original character or the bitty adjacent creator ( often times the same person ), instructing their potential “ owners “ how best to take care of them, what requirements are needed, a bitty character’s likes & dislikes, etc.
& you’d see people drawing their little adopted blorbos ( not yet named blorbos at the time ) roaming around their houses, playing or getting the shit beat out of them by other bitties, & everyone & their mom played around with the idea of these little character pets, describing how they lived their lives alongside their bitties & such. i remember creators getting bomBARDED with “ updates “ of the life & times of these little bitties, or requests to adopt one EVERY SINGLE DAY if you were popular enough for everyone to want a fractal of your character to play around with themselves,
IT WAS... interesting. an interesting concept during an interesting time. & still, i have no idea if this leaked out into other fandoms or- hell, even other CHARACTERS in the mass undertale au universe. probably & i just wasn’t paying attention. i missed out on a nice little chara bitty :( /silly
TDLR ;; “ bitties “ were/are like a pet version of your favorite character that you cared for in a pretend / roleplay fashion; a concept that originated(?) / is primarily prominent in the undertale fandom
& any & all that i adopted back in my time would be LONG dead by now. as well they should be.

Me: idk how I'm going to get into the next chapter of Hungry for love
[starts to plan for rewatch of ep9 followed by rereading the page of metas etc linked in my doc]
Also me: wakes up at 3am with a fully formed paragraph that immediately expanded out into a devastating (I hope) intro
