Currently reading: Actually shamefully little. My main focus has been on Glass Mask, which has fully captivated me. But I've been trying to pace myself with it because it's so good that I almost don't want to burn through it all. Otherwise I just read all of Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai the other day and started catching up with Cipher Academy, Mahou Shoujo Risuka, and Four Knights of the Apocalypse again since I was varying degrees of behind on all of them.

Currently watching: In terms of seasonals, with my friend I've been watching Dungeon Meshi, Majo to Yajuu, and Four Knights of the Apocalypse. And then on my own I also keep up with Sousou no Frieren, Urusei Yatsura Season 2, and I'll be starting Wonderful Precure! once the subs are out for it. As for older series I've been alternating around with watching: Yawara!, Kodomo no Omocha, Touch, Futari wa Precure, and rewatching Creamy Mami.

I also started rewatching Penguindrum with the same friend since we finished our Utena rewatch (and then we'll do Yuri Kuma and Sarazanmai subsequently.) And very importantly, soon I'll be watching Revue Starlight -LIVE #4- Climax with themt oo. Wondering maybe if the concerts are worth doing too ????

Currently obsessed with: Unsurprising answer (probably) but Utena has again been the #1 thing in the front of my brain since watching the musicals for the first time then rewatching the anime. The Mikage brainrot is especially back at dangerously terminal levels I'm afraid. But just in general I've really lost impulse control and have lately been building my Utena doujinshi and merch collection.

Outside of that, Revue Starlight still has me in a chokehold since I first finished it (and the Lives only are adding to it) and I've been getting back into my Monogatari era with Off & Monster Season announced. More largely back into just being utterly obsessed with all of Nisioisin's works.

21- When do you think they were at their happiest?

I think Daisuke's happy when he's with the 02 group, and with his family. Note that despite any clashes he has with them, he never expressed any negative feelings in the sense of "I wish I wasn't friends with [character]/I wish I wasn't Jun's brother/I wish I had other parents" -- he even admitted he was happy with what he got. Therefore I don't trust whoever headcanon or claim that the Motomiya parents & Jun are toxic/abusive. Or that the 02 group/older six only bully Daisuke -- a healthy tease between friends is OK, and Daisuke is easily to be teased imo so i don't blame the group for liking to make him go all pout and screaming angry Daisuke noises.

Daisuke is happy when he’s with those he deeply loves and they all appreciate and love him in return. Be it making plans to eat ramen around the world, or a simple soccer match where his team loses, what makes Daisuke happy is sharing the moment with people. Meeting new people, reconnecting with old people… He’s pretty happy and i’ll fight the world for him.

26- When do you think they were being "themselves" the most?

For 02 series, I think he was being himself the moment he wanted to help Ken out. In HT the moment he shed tears with Wallace by imagining an “what if” scenario where he had to face the same problem Wallace had been dealing with. His kindness for Natchan and not judging her when she reveals to be a digimon… Daisuke might be abrasive outside, but inside he’s a person who deeply cares about the others, and this is where he shines the most in the middle of the chaos and misfortunate events.

As for Kizuna/02TB, I think the best way to depict him is the drama CD where he’s definitely wanting to go on a trip with EVERYONE and even forgot his original reason to do so. And then, at the end he’s just himself… enough to make Hikari-chan notice how cool he is.

27- If they could meet a character from another show/movie/etc, who would be the most fun for them to meet?

YA KNOW, i’d like him to meet Irisawa Kiriya from Futari wa Precure, Because he’s voiced by the same VA (Kiuchi Reiko). And I think he would’ve been friends with the characters written by Maekawa too, like Ozu Kai/MagiRed (Mahou Sentai Magiranger) and Momozono Love/Cure Peach (Fresh Precure!). They’re… basically "Daisuke-coded" characters imo!

Also IDW Sonic’s Silver because he’s a cutie-pie 🙂 Silver there is very Daisuke-branded imo.

29- How do you think they would be as a parent? (and if they are a parent, how do you think they would be if they weren't?)

Gosh… Dadsuke probably is a cool dad. The kind of dad who’s sort of responsible, careful and nice. I mean, ep 24 had proved that Daisuke can be good with kids. So i think his son got all the love and care of the world. Heck, i think even he gives enough care to his wife-or-husband. I don’t have many headcanons in my mind, so i’ll end this answer here.

Vinyl Record: What do you prefer to listen to?

JPOP! Japanese pop is so bubbly and fun; I enjoy listening to it immensely.

There's several subgenres of JPOP that I like such as anisong, vocaloid, idol hell, and vtuber stuff. Even though you didn't ask for this, I'll put a song from each subgenre that I like because why not!

Anisong: Unlasting - LiSA

Vocaloid: Wah Wah World - Giga x Mitchi M

Idol hell: Dream with You - Ayumu Uehara (technically you can also put this under anisong but idols...)

Vtuber stuff: ねねねねねねねね!大爆走 - Momozuzu Nene (vtubers can also release english songs but this is probably my favorite JP vtuber and my favorite song of hers)

Tablet: What is the picture on your tablet/phone/electronic device right now?

Uhh most of it is fanart that I don't know the source to so I don't really feel comfortable sharing without credit BUT there's one official piece of art I'm using as a phone wallpaper right now that I feel comfortable showing off!

I like Theresa and Klee a lot. :)

Block Component: What is your most prized possession?

I can't pick one item from my merch collection. I love collecting merchandise from the things I like; I support what I love that way.

There's a particular figure that I treasure a lot, though.

Even though I'm not a big fan of Futari Wa PreCure, I like Cure Black's original design. I have her 15th-anniversary figure, which is probably my collection's highlight. Unlike the majority of my merch that I have stored in a cabinet because I have no other place to put it, she sits happily on my dresser alongside an Ai Miyashita summer figure a friend bought me for my birthday and a new Asuna figure I purchased around a month ago that wouldn't fit in my merch cabinet.

Wide-Angle Lens: Where would you travel if you could travel anywhere?

I'd want to go to Japan! I'd like to go to Akiba in Toyko because I've heard it's merch heaven. One day I'll get there; I'll make sure of it.
