Mkay. Initial thoughts:

GYAAAH WHY ARE YOU ALL COMING FOR MY LIFE SIRS!?!?!?

Okay. Now that that’s done...

1. Choreo fucking BROUGHT IT! I love sharp popping and precision dancing and these boys made it goddamn stellar! 😍

2. MV was fantastic! I broke my pattern and actually watched the mv instead of listening first, then watching. I can hardly wait to watch it in hd! AND JONGIN TELEPORTED!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE NOD!!!

3. Song itself? Not bad. I say that because I’m not nuts about the chorus. Which disappoints me, because I really dig all other aspects of the song. I think it’s the heavy autotune? Which in excess is never something I’m a fan of. But the rest of the song is awesome! Baek sounded incredible, Mark’s rap was great, and the beat is fun! I have a feeling I’ll grow to like it more as a whole, because that’s what always happens, but for now, I’m lukewarm. And again, that’s just first impressions.

4. I was especially slayed by Taemin, (big surprise) Jongin, (bigger surprise) and Baekhyun (biggest surprise oh mah gahd call Ripley!)

Taemin just...I can’t–I...AGGGH!!! ☠️

And Jongin!! Did you hear!? He got to go higher in some spots! Which is so cool because I’m so used to his lower range! 😍

And Baekhyun...damn son! He is such an incredible singer, it always hits me right when he comes into a song. That entrance in the second verse, DAMN! And his goddamned high notes!!!

Overall I really feel like they were given their due as company seniors. That said, I love the parts from NCT too. That little dance segment with Ten and Lucas omg. 😍 And I already mentioned Mark’s rap; I loved his segments, but I also really liked Taeyong’s too. I’m more accustomed to hearing their English singing, so it felt like an amped up version of Regular? In a sense? Maybe not? Idk, it was great!

5. I’m an idiot and I *just* realized the sign Taemin’s under says FUTURE backwards. 😂😂😂

6. For at least a bit there I saw Jongin Ten and Taemin front and center and 😵

Summary: I’m a burgeoning pragmatist, so I want to support the guys, *and* I won’t blindly say I love it if I don’t. (The two aren’t mutually exclusive, sweethearts,) But, I liked everything about it except the chorus, and even that wasn’t terrible. It’s just incongruous in tone to the rest. And independent of the rest of the song it’s perfectly fine, so like I said, I’m sure that aspect will grow on me. I’m super excited for the rest of the songs on the album, so I’ve gotta give them a listen too.

I’m sure while I was busy writing this frigging NOVEL that everyone’s already said how much they hated it, or how much they loved it. But I wanted to get my thoughts down without any outside influence. So...here they are!

Donald sobs when Huey is four years old. He was about to break one of the toys Uncle Eider had given them for Christmas. Before he can break the wheel, Donald takes it from him in a quick, flash moment.

“Gahd Damn!”

He’s anticipated this. He’s slipped up every now and then. He’s a sailor. It happens. He tries his best. Dewey and Louie were the canditates for this. Their personalities are prevalent, and Donald can tell.

But not Huey...not his small red bean.

“Unca’ Dona’ what wrong?”

It starts with a hiccup, then a sniffle, and Donald is crying on the kitchen floor. He feels terrible. Huey drops his toy and goes into his arms, “What wrong?”

Donald has to explain to him that the word he said was not a good word to say, and it hurt him to hear Huey say it.

Huey doesn’t fully get it, but he understands the naughty word. The naughty word made Uncle Donald cry.

He cups Donald face, “ ‘Kay, no more ba’ word.”

“No more bad words.”

Huey smiles and kisses him on the cheek, “Bye bye, me go play now.”

Donald does feel a little guilty. It’s only a word. Subconsciously, he thinks this proves he’s a bad parent. He was a sailor, and the sailor’s language sticks with him.

Huey doesn’t remember this. He doesn’t remember saying the phrase. He doesn’t remember Uncle Donald crying, but he doesn’t say another cuss word until he’s in his late teens.

When Donald witnesses it, he is going to be so proud of him. He’ll laugh, “Language, Huey!”

🔥 Lost ships!

ohhhhh-kay im assuming this means canon and non-canon? oh boy

(even if it was just canon this would be a lot, abc’s lost has romance pouring out of it’s glowing orifices. and i mean that in the best possible way)

kate/jack: i like them better than kate/sawyer! (i don’t HATE kate/sawyer tho) i enjoy their banter and their love and like, yeah it’s not a healthy relationship all the time, like it got to a couple of bad places, but overall i do believe they were good together and jack is a better person for kate than sawyer

kate/sawyer: some of their love-y parts are sweet and great and all but i really do prefer these two as just friends. friends who loved each other and fucked but have since moved on (to claire and juliet respectively. you heard me)

sawyer/juliet, jin/sun, des/penny, kate/claire: i don’t think i have any unpopular opinions on these guys, as far as i know. everybody loves these guys and i’d say most lost fans agree that kate/claire = secret bi endgame

charlie/claire: [uncomfortable hissing sound] oh gosh these two… uhm, okay, i must preface by saying i love charlie/claire, individually and as a couple, and they’re certainly the most adorable of OTPs but, holy shit charlie got possessive and jealous as fuck. it got seriously unhealthy. so i guess my unpopular opinion is that, yeah i love them but i won’t act like they’re perfect together

boone/shannon: they’re brother and sister, you guys! c’mon, that shit is fucked up! and to those people who prefer boone/shan to sayid/shan, you got some issues you need to work through because that shit is not cool

sayid/shannon: they were a short-lived but great couple and i will physically fight you if you tell me otherwise. and don’t give me that shit about how “shannon doesn’t ~deserve~ sayid” or like “sayid never really loved shannon” i will fuycking destroy you. (also heavy topic but most of the hate for sayid/shannon is caused, even unknowingly, by racism and sexism)

hurley/libby: [tearing up] i know libby wasn’t around a lot but they were so sweet you guys and i love them too

ben/juliet: i was gonna go on rant but then i remembered that MOST people in the current lost fandom hate ben/juliet (michael emerson seal of approval!)

daniel/charlotte: maybe… perhaps… i love them more than the average lost fan does? or should? …but actually a lot more people like this more than you’d think. so uhhh my unpopular opinions more pretain to characters than the ship

daniel/charlotte/miles: ohh i def love this one more than it deserves. as such there aren’t even popular opinions for me to disagree with. i just wanted to mention them. which sums up my sci trio shipping in a nutshell

miles/sawyer: no i’m fine with this. throw juliet in there and you got a dharma era threesome. and the best lost fic i ever read… i’m going off topic. oh, i find that miles/sawyer is the most popular of the ships involving miles and for obvious reasons i disagree with that. but like, not in a bad way

miles/richard: the popularity of this pleasantly surprises me but i’m so into it anyways. i think that’s how this ship spreads. one awkward thing tho is that richard took place in the event that killed miles dad… so uh… uh oh

ben/locke: ohh this one is SUPER popular but like, while i low-key ship them, i’m not like, super into it. realistically ben shouldn’t be with anyone, ever. but like, as a just for fun ship, i’m on board with it. it’s not a NOTP im just meh

desmond/charlie: okay so i love this ship and thank gosh when i manage to find a fic for them, but the one thing i disagree with is when like, a writer has them hook up on the island, because i know in my heart des would never cheat on penny. so in my mind, des/charlie happens in an AU where charlie lives and gets off the island and like, theres a polyamory thing going on. imma still read fics where des n charlie bang on the island tho. im legit not that picky

desmond/daniel: this ship is one-sided. sorry. i mean like, dan likes des but des doesn’t like him back. …i’ll happily read stuff to the contrary tho [finger guns]

daniel/juliet (yes this is a thing): from their few interactions i get this like, motherly vibe from it. like a mother and son thing. as such, the concept of dan n jules together wrinkles my nose a bit. like its not bad, its just not my thing

ben/richard: i used to ship this but the more and more i thought of richard as a sort of father figure to ben, the less i shipped it until i just stopped

richard/alex and ben/alex: i will… actually… kill you (and yes, you read that right, these are ships that happened. fic happened. i’ve seen it. i hate!!!!)

charlie/liam and jack/claire: THESE WERE ALSO THINGS. also things i will kill you over. fyi the jack/claire fics kept being written after the reveal that they’re siblings. and there was never any excuse for charlie/liam. i cannot stress this enough: incest, even fictional incest… IS BAD

i used to have incest ships but i got over it and i’m never going back. this is not cool at all. also the fact that i stumble into fics for these pairings a bunch but its hard to find something thats okay to ship… that pisses me off

kate/juliet: the fact that i forgot about them until the end is a sign of what im about to say: i support the idea, but i’m not super into it. not for any moral reason or whatever, i’m just neutral. its a good idea tho. queer lost hcs always welcome

anyways i have like bajillion ships for this show and if i didn’t include one it’s either because i dunno the popular opinions for them or because its like a ship that only me and maybe my friends ship (e.g dan/charlie. too niche)

Height: I’m pretty sure I’m in the neighbourhood of 5′8″ or appx 45 Timbits tall.

Orientation: Bi af

Ethnicity: At least 6-7 generations canadian, and at some point my family immigrated from Scotland.

Favorite Fruit: ORANGES. (especially the little sweet ones u get at christmas) to a lesser degree, pears and raspberries.

Favorite Season: fall/winter. because the plants are sleeping and not shooting pollen straight into my nostrils.

Favorite Book: oh boy uh, I really like American Gods and the HDM trilogy and the Night Circus, but I recently finished a book called Blackbirds by Chuck Wendig and I love that a whole lot.

Favorite Flower: I don’t have a favourite, but I like ones that come in vivid bright colours. My mom loves gerbera daisies, so I like those too :)

Favorite Scent: Citrus candles, that smell after a really good rain in the spring/summer ( I learned that’s called Petrichor :D) and that really clear crisp ice smell after a bit snow has fallen.

Favorite Color: the whole colour range between a mint green and turquoise rn.

Favorite Animal: birds, the top two being crows, peacocks

Coffee, Tea, or Hot Cocoa: tea, hot chocolate, or hot chocolate mixed with coffee, but never just coffee. :( no bitter bean water for me.

Average Sleep Hours: uuusually 7-8, but if I have no plans the next day I’ll sometimes sleep 9-10 hours.

Cat or Dog person: bird uuuhhh it’s almost a dead heat honestly, with the slight lead to kitties, because of their level of self-sufficiency tbh.

Favorite Fictional Character: These are the hardest questions because I consume too much media for this lol. Probably Spider Jerusalem from transmetropolitan because damn son.

Number of blankets you sleep with: in the winter, usually one comforter, a throw blanket and a sheet. In the summer, just a sheet to cover my modesty and my comforter to spoon/wrap around into another pillow haha.

Dream Trip: I want to do one of those “see all of Europe” things where you bounce from hostel to hostel and spend a couple days in all the big cities all over Europe. Alternately, I want to go on a really fancy and expensive train journey across canada :)
