Today in Giuseppe Stromboli’s birthday and to a lesser extent Harry Potter’s birthday, I think it prudent that we turn these days into days of awareness. I am so grateful the Harry Potter books were available during my time as a child and I treasure their experience as I know many also do. That being said we can not let someone so bigoted and pig headed state things so untrue and hurtful. Trans people are valid and nothing the author (who is not a scientist) can say will change that. That does not mean what the author says is not hurtful. And as she has a large reach into the world, today must be a day of opposition. Drowning out the wrong voices! Education and donation in the name of Harry Potter, as these books still mean so much to so many of our trans brothers and sisters. If you are looking for a place to donate I suggest the Marsha P Institute, which is where I donated, but there are so many other great places doing wonderful work. To sum up don’t let one person’s wrong way of thinking ruin something that has become bigger than them. We are better than her and are a much stronger force. Use today to show everyone that Harry raised all of us right. Headpiece was inspired by @thebeheaded and made by me. #ravenclaw #ravenclawpride #vintage #stars #magic #wand #witch #vintagestyle #harrypotter #hogwarts #translivesmatter #marshapjohnson #giuseppestromboli #vintagestylenotvintagevalues #vintagehair #1930s https://www.instagram.com/p/CDT7lONDatE/?igshid=mff4exxg4ev8

how dare you hate on harry potter?? and still say you're a fan??
You will never hear me say I hate harry potter. I grew up with the books and they have played a huge part of my life ever since I remember. I love the characters and the world
BUT WITH THAT BEING SAID, I can easily acknowledge that this beloved world has flaws. One of them being a woman who calls herself a “feminist” yet never even hesitated on using internal misogyny any given time she had. The woman that wrote CHILDREN BOOKS with so much bullying in them it’s actually horrible. A woman who fat-shamed in every possible way, as well as used stereotypes of almost any given culture or minority.
Not to mention, she couldn’t keep a straight line in her own world and it just really bugs me. like, not being able to do simple math so making it seem as if James and Lill were full-on adults while actually, they were only 21 when they died. Or the constant Jenga world-building where she just stacks up more and more information on top of what has already been done, and ignore that it doesn’t make any fucking sense. And don't even get me started on the (cursed child) plotholes
in conclusion, the wizarding world was made by its fans. #GiuseppeStromboli
