I've had '80s Noir and Cassette Futurism on my mind a lot lately, so why not make a retro game of it?
Tumblr media
You're a private investigator for a large security firm. A client is receiving death threats after witnessing crimes committed by very high-profile people. The firm's job is to keep this witness alive and gather evidence to support their story. You've been assigned as the lead investigator, and as such, your life may be in danger as well. Your employers have permits and licensing for a variety of NFA items. Basically, if something is sold to law enforcement agencies, your employer can get it for you.
Choose your weapons for this role: sidearm(s), long gun(s), any specialty weapons you might think are relevant. For the aesthetic and spirit of this scenario, they need to have been made or imported in the 2020s and a continuation or reintroduction of a weapon produced and available in the 1980s. What modern upgrades and accessories would you add? Custom work is encouraged.
Examples: ARs, AKMs, CZ 75 series, Beretta 92 series, and many revolver models all predate the 1980s and are still made and sold, so their modern versions are all on the table. Likewise the GP100 and SP101, Glock series, and the Desert Eagle were all released in the 80s and still made today. Similarly, the Lionheart LH9 is a currently made pistol based on the Daewoo K5 (itself released in 1989) and also an option. These are just some examples and many more options exist.
Choose your weapons, grab a pair of shades, pop that collar, and keep your client alive. List your choices or go full writing prompt if you want.
Tag some friends and use the "gunblr game" tag so we can see your post.

The Gunblr hunting guide game
One of my dream jobs is to be a professional hunting guide or animal tracker. I would love to be able to develop the skill of tracking to the point where you could get someone or yourself into position to take a shot on an elusive animal. And that’s where this game comes from.
For my location choice, I’ve picked the border area between Tennessee and North Carolina. You have everything from whitetail deer to Bear and even a thriving Elk population that is starting to be open to hunt. Plus it’s gorgeous
Tumblr media
This game started with a conversation between me and @mikeneedsadrink about guide guns. I had seen something about someone having a gun used for hunting or guiding that was exorbitantly expensive, several thousand dollars. And all I could think was “man. It would suck to lose that in a lake or down a valley”. And that’s where I made my choice on my gun.
Tumblr media
The Remington 870 Marine Magnum in 12 gauge. You can find the 870 is every single gun store in the US and it’s not going to wreck your wallet to replace. 12 gauge is the most versatile cartridge available, and out of a 870 can take everything from deer to bear to birds if it needs to. I picked this specific pic off google because of the ghost rings.
Tumblr media
For my carry gun/pistol is gonna be the Springfield Armory TRP operator in 10mm. Much like 12 gauge, I am a big fan of 10mm. And as much as it makes me a fudd, I love the 1911 platform so this is kind of a no brainer. Underwood hardcasts for bear/cat country and Federal HSTs for people.
Hunting rifle is the most interesting thing to search through for me. Do I go with something new school, like a Remington 700 in a chassis? Do I get like a more classic style hunting rifle? Do I go with a wildcat round that’s more specialized or the American classic .30-06 route? Well…
Tumblr media
Enter the Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant. I know it’s weird, but hear me out. They are famously accurate rifles, having been reworked by the Finns in the 40’s, 7.62x54R is a plentiful round that’s supported to this day and is a viable hunting round for all the animals found in the region, and it’s my choice and the M39 is cool so.

Researching for gunblr games is a good way to baffle algorithms analyzing your searches. I have like nine tabs of complete random crap open right now.

Alright lads!
We've done super cheap kits, we talked about how critically limiting the low price was, so now I have a new Gunblr Game-
Scenario: you're the armorer for a mid scale PMC, you need to design a standard kit, whole nine yards, for a mid level risk security job. You're not expecting trouble, but trouble has been had in the past.
-Or-
your wife/SO has gotten spooked by current events and told you they want you to build out a set of battle rattle for you both.
You have a *technically* unlimited budget.
BUT!
You need to price it out like you have a budget officer or fairly frugal wife leering over your shoulder. Anything you get in the "premium" range needs to be justified.
You're also trying to not piss off the guys you're making lug the kit around/your wife. So if you give them super budget parts, you need to justify it too.
TLDR- build the cheapest truly battle ready kit you can.
Easy mode: you and your wife. (No NODs/IR)
Hard mode: your company is expected to pull 24/7 security. (with NODs/IR)
Ultra-kill mode: your company anticipates the potential hostile actors have access to NODs. (Passive aiming/low IR signature)

Miami Vice Gunblr game
This took far too long to think of, mainly because even though I am a guy who likes guns and also does quite like cars, I am not all that knowledgeable about either.
But I’m going to try my best, and going with guns and cars that I know and guns that I like.
So, in the original post by @celtic-tactical, the premise is that I’m an undercover agent for a DEA/DOJ task force to infiltrate a drug cartel operating in Florida.
So let’s see how well I can pull that off.
Guns:
First off, I’ve got to go with a bit of flash. Because when you’ve got cash, you’ve got to have a bit of flash. So my more show-offy gun, the one that would make people go “God, this guy’s a rich douche”: a nickel plated Colt Single Action. (Personally, I’d prefer the ivory grips myself)
Tumblr media
My actual gun however, the one that meant business, would definitely be a CZ-75B, in .40 S&W.
Tumblr media
As a backup gun, a Colt Python with a 3″ barrel.
Tumblr media
For long arms, for when you have to check those corners, the Mossberg 500 Cruiser.
Tumblr media
For more stand up fights, an FN FAL with folding paratrooper stock.
Tumblr media
Cars.
So, again, cash means flash, and I’ve always wanted a muscle car, so I went with the 70-71 Ford Torino. Preferably in dark blue over green.
Tumblr media
... yeah, I’d probably stick out like a sore-thumb with this idea.

The hunting guide game
Tumblr media
Congratulations. You won the career path lottery. You managed to scrape up enough money and skill to set up your own hunting guide business. People, both small time hunters and professional hunters, come to you for guided hunts or tracking.
The game is a two parter. The first part is simple, pick an area where you will set up your hunting range. If you want to specialize hunting Axis deer in Hawaii or Kodiak bears in Alaska, the decision is yours.
The second part is picking three firearms. A handgun (that would be a daily wood-walking gun that you’d bring on hunts), some kind of guide gun (a long gun you’d carry while guiding clients into hunting spots) and a dedicated hunting rifle (for either your own personal use or for assisting in guided hunts).
You have to take the area you pick into account for predatory animals when picking your guns. If you decide to set up in upstate New York, for example, your need for a predator gun is much less than if you decide to set up shop in Montana.
Feel free to be as detailed and specific as you’d like, and tag your mutuals. Have fun, and enjoy the game!

Today, without any irony, thousands of millionaire celebrities. in decadent designer fashion, will assemble around a barely lucid, almost 80 year old man, flanked by his VP, who was a victim of his segregationist policies, surrounded by tens of thousands of troops, armed with fully-automatic rifles but not ammuntion. They will applaud him as he preaches “unity”, “healing”, and a fancy new train system. His supporters will know they are the #resistance

Person who is completely irrational and uninformed talks about “sensible gun control”.
Drink a sip.
Needless to say, OP hasn’t responded to a single person.
Five bucks says liz here has no idea what laws, specifically, would supposedly prevent mass shootings.
And if I may make an entirely irrelevant personal attack;
Tumblr media
Gee, I wonder why she has me pre-blocked.

I can put up with aggression, condescension, name-calling, and all kinds of individual logical fallacies, but I hate that gross little hybrid of strawman and ad hominem. You know, the one where people go, "I refuse to take you seriously because, based on your belief being associated with a couple other ones, I assume you also believe this other thing I disagree with."
Left-wing does it as much as the right-wing: "It's not very pro-life of them to be anti-gun control!" Versus "How can you be for vaccine cards but against voter ID?" Stop it! Stop assuming your opponent's unrelated opinions in an argument! It doesn't even matter if your assumption is correct, because you're derailing the argument! If the conversation is originally about abortion, keep it about abortion. If it's about gender, keep it about gender. If it's about police, keep it about police. I understand that you can see problems with the network of beliefs associated with the one you're talking about, but that isn't meaningful to the argument in any way at all!
The problem with debate like this is that we don't view it as an actual discussion-- We see our opponent as, like, a member of an enemy team. We tend to automatically associate their being pro-life, or pro-gun control, or pro-vaccine, or pro-whatever with a series of other beliefs because, yes, people with a view on one side of the political spectrum tend to hold other views close to it. If we just spit that assumption out, though, it might be a clever insult, but it doesn't contribute to the debate at all. It just furthers the divide, and it shows that we were never interested in discussing the logic and morality of an issue, but instead in insulting each other. Do better!!!
