I haven't thought about this specifically, but it does sound pretty fun. In an attempt to justify his own uncomfortable possessive feelings, or at least even things out a bit more in his mind, he baits her into jealousy so he can weaponize it only to realize it's not working and he's still the one at a disadvantage. I think Sylvain would be annoyed and then upset about it. She's not playing into his mind games the way she's supposed to, leaving him vulnerable. He'd probably double down on getting the desired reaction. Find ways to force her to feel jealous, maybe make her feel that if she falls out of favor with him, she'll have nothing.
