I am nearing 30 years old and I work in health care. Now, as I look through the sessrin tags, these have given me fond memories of my teenage years when I was shipping Sesshomaru and Adult Rin. Seeing fanarts, .gifs from the new series, and drabble fics for this ship have given me an overwhelming dose of serotonin after a stressful day of work. My first ever ship in an anime fandom has officially sailed. I am bless today. It's a good time to celebrate. No hate please.

I have said this before but I say it again it doesnt matter which ship is canon because Yashahime is a badly written trainwreck. Even if it for some miracle Sesskagu becomes canon the show would be still horrible. Rin being the mother just makes it worse (for many other reason too) because her and the twins whole life are ruined. Rin hurt her own daughter to stay alive which is the worst thing a mother can do. Her daughters were alone for a very long Time and especially Setsuna suffered a lot because of it. Sesshomaru's plan didnt work and at the end of the day he still abandoned his half demon kids, they grew up without their parents.

The og characters are ruined and the plot and time line doesnt make sense. Sango is no longer a demon slayer, she is reduced to Miroku's wife. Miroku is a dead beat father. They also dont care about their friends and Moroha. Hisui is mad at his father for petty reasons and because he has to work as a 19-20 years old as a demon slayer. You know the same thing Sango and Kohaku trained for since they were children? Demon slaying was more than just work or a job it was part of their lives. But now it turned to a joke and a job nobody wants to do. One of their daughter is also missing and the other isnt helping out. Did Sango also forget to train them? Everybody in this show is also braindead.

And after episode 14 even the moral is fucked up. How Towa and Moroha talked about a 13 years old girl and her obsessed stalkers is messed up. They are 14 years old and not 3. Teens at that age especially from the 21th century can tell the difference between when people hurt, stalk others and telephone obsession. Kagome was able to tell immediately when she was 15 from the 20th century so there is no excuse for this.

I dont think there is a saving for this show.

Did you hear about the Inuyasha sequel and Inu and Sess’s daughters?!!

I guess now I have now that everyone has bombarded my inbox about it. I honestly don’t have much interest in it because I lost interest for the general main storyline long before it ended so I’m honestly not going to watch it or read it. Mainly because I don’t really like thinking about SessRin and not because I ship SessKag but because the general father/daughter turned lover relationship trope in anime genuinely is a major squick to me and if that IS their kid which it seems like it probably is I don’t want to really think about it. Inukag’s kid looks cute tho.

But I hope ppl enjoy it! Inuyasha is like, Rumiko’s main moneymaker and reboots/sequels/let’s follow the kids now storylines are pretty popular for the genre to do so it only makes financial sense to go this route. 

Honestly for me that series dragged on so long that I was just happy to see it end, and so to see it brought back again I have mixed feelings because it feels like beating a dead horse. I felt the same about manga like Naruto keeping it going tbh.

As for me I’ll probably continue to be in my own sandbox and just keep working on Raindrops.
