during one of your giggle fits, you absent-mindedly threw both arms around his neck, scooching closer to him as you asked, "soobin, what do you think about having our own children? if we do end up having children, i'd hope they look like a copy of you hehe. my hubby's so good looking, i especially hope they'll have your adorable dimples and smile!" you flashed him a grin, a rosy shade of red tints your face and ears from the alcohol, waiting upon his reply.

"really? a-are you being serious y/n? you really want to start a family with me?" the questions tumbled out of his mouth faster than he could process, resulting in you pressing a kiss to his lips, a giggle escaping you soon after, "yes, of course silly goose. i wouldn't have married you if i didn't want to have your children." booping your nose against his with a soft smile after you finished speaking, eyes filled with love and adoration for your giant silly hubby.

things escalate rather quickly, from soft loving kisses to hushed needy whimpers into each other's mouth. when soobin was busy suckling onto your boobs, you pull him up, meeting his dazed eyes as his tongue doesn't leave your nipple, still lapping and circling it, you giggle into his ear, "i haven't been taking my pills for the past two days." that little push was all it took before soobin was chanting that he wants to have babies with you like a mantra, leading to the present where you are pressed under his big frame, completely caged in by him.

then suddenly, you hear soft sniffling and feel droplets of liquid dripping onto your shoulder, coming from your sweet hubby. a wave of panic rises within you when you hear his sniffling and it brings you out of your trance inmediately.

"hey soobin? what's wrong baby? are you crying? is everything okay?" you voice out, trying to get him to talk to you. "i-i just love you so much y/n," he states as he lifts his head up to look at you, eyes brimming with tears while still sniffling and sobs choking up in his throat.

"it feels like it's too much, i just love you so much and i c-can't handle it... i love you so so much y/n, you'll stay with me forever right? i promise i'll love you forever and i'll take care of you all my life even if it isn't easy and-and i want us to grow old together and have children and open a cafe together like we said we would and-" his nervous rambling cut short as you give him a peck, tears that had gathered in your eyes threatening to spill over after listening to his words, your laughter sounds the room filled to the brim with love and endearment.

soobin looks almost stunned at your action like as if you've never kissed him before, "i love you too binnie, so so much i can't express it in words."

no matter how long you and soobin have been together, it's like you were always in the honeymoon phase, love ever always so sweet, and soobin still rambles on and on about certain things thinking you would leave him if he doesn't make enough valid points to keep you.

safe to say, the love that you and soobin shared was disgustingly sweet, but it made people believe in old, eternal love all over again.

you carefully push the heavy door to the practice room open, cracking it just enough to let yourself slip into the room. yeonjun doesn’t even flinch at your sudden entrance; his eyes are still fixated on his own dance moves in the mirror.

“jun,” you call, kneeling down to pause the music. “how long have you been here? it’s late.”

an exasperated sigh leaves his lips as you walk over, handing him a chilled water bottle. he downs most of it before handing it back. “not long. just a few hours.”

“a few hours?” the words were little more than an ashamed whisper. you do your best not to show just how surprised you are. “come on,” you whisper. you place your hands against yeonjun’s shoulders, gently beginning to massage the tension out of his muscles. “let’s go home.”

despite his efforts, you can feel yeonjun slowly begin to relax against your touch. he lets his eyes flutter closed as he leans back against your chest. “okay,” he finally nods.

you softly smile in response. one of your hands falls to his waist as you guide him over to gather up his things. you don’t leave yeonjun’s side until you’re both safely in bed with his head safely pressed against your chest.

you carefully crack your bedroom door open before smiling to yourself at the sight inside. soobin lays sprawled across your shared bed; disheveled hair spread along the pillows and blankets haphazardly covering his body. your lips quirk into a small smile as you use your body to push the door open enough so you can set the plate of freshly made food down on the bedside table, along with a steaming cup of coffee.

soobin slowly stirs awake at the smell, eyes leisurely blinking open. you sit down on the edge of the bed, reaching over to brush a hand through his soft locks of hair. “happy birthday, bin,” you smile.

he moves to sit up in bed, rubbing the sleepiness out of his eyes. his lips quirk upwards into a smile of his own. “you made breakfast?”

“only the best for my boy.”

despite the way he playfully rolls his eyes, you can see the soft blush that spreads across his cheeks. “shut up,” he mumbles.

you simply chuckle, watching as soobin reaches over to take the first bite. his eyes widen in surprise for a few seconds before he smiles brightly at you. “do you like it?”

“wow,” he says. “it’s incredible!”

“good,” you lean over to press a chaste kiss against his cheek as he continues eating.

soobin sleepily rubs at his tired eyes as he turns the tv off. “don’t worry,” you whisper, gesturing for him to return to his bedroom. “i’ll carry him to bed.”

“thanks hyung,” he murmurs. you simply nod in response.

you snake an arm underneath beomgyu’s knees before carefully lifting his body up. beomgyu sleepily blinks awake, shifting just enough to look up at you. his arms snake around your neck as he relaxes further into your touch. “hyung?” he whispers.

“it’s okay. we’re going to bed.” beomgyu hums, letting his eyes flutter shut once again. his head fits perfectly tucked just underneath your jaw as you carefully carry him into your shared bedroom.

you lay beomgyu down on his side of the bed before you slide underneath your blankets beside him. he immediately moves closer; he gently maneuvers your body so his head rests comfortably against your chest. you stifle a small chuckle at his clinginess as you lift a hand up to rake through his shaggy hair. “i love you,” he mumbles into the darkness.

“i love you too,” you whisper.

“thank you so much. … of course. i’ll tell him to call you later.”

taehyun stirs awake at the sound of your voice, shifting to prop himself up on his elbow. the couch cushions do little to support his weight before he collapses back down against them. he can hear you set your phone down against the counter before you reach up to grab a porcelain bowl out of the cabinet.

his eyes flutter closed once again. you walk over, setting the bowl down against the coffee table before kneeling in front of the couch.

“tae,” you whisper as you push his hair out of his eyes. “jagi.”

“hyung?” he rasps out. you reach over, gently coaxing him to sit up.

“i made you some samgyetang.” taehyun moves over just enough to make room for you to sit beside him on the couch. he looks at you through half-lidded eyes as you carefully raise a spoonful of soup to his lips for him to drink.

you softly smile when his eyes widen slightly in surprise. “it’s just like my mom makes,” he murmurs.

“i may have… called her.”

taehyun perks up a little before he smiles brightly at you. “i’m so in love with you,” he whispers.

you chuckle, raising another spoonful to his lips. “i love you too, tae.”

you slowly stir awake from a small stream of sunlight entering your shared bedroom, casting a gentle golden glow across the room. you reach over to grab your phone, squinting at the bright light suddenly illuminating from the device. 05:38. you’ll need to wake kai up soon.

you let your phone fall back onto your bedside table as you roll over to face kai’s side of the bed. he’s still deeply asleep, soft snores occasionally escaping from his lips. you can’t help the way your lips quirk into a small smile as you shift to lay back down beside him.

you bring your hand up to carefully brush through kai’s hair. you twist your fingers through his soft curls, gently twisting the strands between your fingers. he unconsciously smiles at the feeling. he slowly begins to stir awake, shifting towards your warmth.

kai’s eyes finally flutter open as you pull him in to press a soft kiss against the crown of his head. your hand rests against the soft skin of his cheek as he smiles in content, nuzzling even closer into your warmth. “morning kai,” you murmur.

“good morning hyung,” he whispers. kai moves so he’s laying on your chest; his head is just above your heart. “what time is it?”

“not time to get up.”

“good,” he hums.

honestly i used to have the worst confidence when i started working in customer service, i used to cry whenever someone was even slightly frustrated, but now when someone insults me on the phone, i have the power to hang up on them and i LOVE it <3 i think some customers do think "oh if i'm awful to them, they will cave and give me what i want" but actually when you are an angel to me, i will love you forever <333 i do the same, i always compliment them or tell them to have a nice day :) sending u good vibes !!

i kinda feel like that was exactly how txt were shown as </3 soobin & yeonjun are typically favoured more than the rest of the group while the other three—i feel—were ignored </3 it definitely feels a little bit different now but it used to be so obvious that gyu, taehyun and kai were not as popular :(

You check the clock for the fifth time that afternoon, your breathing labored as you hang up the last of the lights.

"All done over here! Yeonjun, Hueningkai, how's the cake?" you call out to your friends in the kitchen. You chuckle when you see the design Yeonjun chose for the frosting. "Oh my god, what is that supposed to be?"

Kai glances over at you and laughs, "Yeonjun won't even let me do anything, and look at this! It looks like a headless squirrel." he says, pointing at the cake with Yeonjun hunched over it, seemingly trying to salvage the drawing.

You laugh at Kai's comment, grabbing your phone and opening your DMs to text Soobin, who was out with Beomgyu trying to keep Taehyun away from your house.

You close your phone and fix a balloon that had gone astray, before checking the estimated time of arrival for Taehyun's birthday gift you had requested the week before. You knew Taehyun loved animals and had gotten him a pet. A pony, to be exact. The house you both lived in was your uncle's, a charming ranch house with stables in the back. As a kid, you would visit your uncle every summer, joining the local equestrian team and playing with your uncle's senior horses. When he passed away, you inherited the land and moved in with your boyfriend Taehyun. You smile to yourself as you imagine how he'd react to the present and new friend. Pleased, you hummed a little song to yourself, almost skipping over to the kitchen where Yeonjun and Kai were bickering about whether to put strawberries on the cake or not.

"Hyung, cmonnnn. He loves strawberries, right? It won't ruin anything, I'm sure of it," Kai argues, gesturing at the box of strawberries on the table.

"No, no, no, it'll ruin the taste. Since when do strawberries and rainbow cake go together?? We're using the sprinkles, leave me alone." Yeonjun retorts, grabbing the multi-colored sprinkles from the cabinet and dusting them on.

You nod, agreeing with Yeonjun on the sprinkles. "It looks so good, guys!! Well... except for that drawing, Yeonjun, why didn't you let Kai do it." you say as you observe the cake.

Yeonjun huffs, rolling his eyes at you. "Is it Bully Yeonjun Day or something? Did I miss the memo?"

"No, it's Taehyun's birthday." You chime at him, smirking as he flicked you off in response.

Your ringtone starts playing and you sprint over to your phone on the sofa, correctly guessing that Soobin was calling you. You answer as you lock eyes with Yeonjun and Kai, sending them the signal that Taehyun was probably on his way.

"Soobin? Are you on your way home?"

"Yes, we're on our way, Taehyun was being too persistent. You guys ready?"

"Umm," you pause as you look over the decorations and room, "Yes, yeah we are. But the present isn't here yet!"

"When is it coming?"

"The tracker says... oh in fifteen minutes!"

"Hmm, we're pretty close, like five minutes away."

"Ok, you know what, no problem. It should be here by the time the food is eaten, we'll be fine."

"Okay, bye then!"

"Bye, cya soon!"

You end the call and open the package tracking app, looking at the ETA. Ten minutes?! Gosh I hope it arrives in time.

"Y/n what'd Soobin say?" Yeonjun inquires, finishing up the last of the placements. "Everything looks good here, I think we're ready?"

You nod, scanning over the area. "I think so too." You smile to yourself as you imagine how happy your boyfriend would be with the surprise party.

Yeonjun grins at you, knowing exactly who you were thinking about. "Look at the little lovebird, so cute." he coos at you before turning back to the kitchen. "Don't worry about anything, I'm certain Taehyun will love this."

You turn away, embarrassed at being so easily read. But he's right, I have nothing to worry out. You reassure yourself as you grab your phone to dial the boys to see where they were.

Well no need, because they were already at the front door.

The doorbell rings through the house. "Guy's it's us! Open up!" Beomgyu's voice calls from outside.

You hurriedly stuff your phone into your jean pocket, glancing at Yeonjun and Kai who were hiding behind the living room door as you sprint into the foyer. You open the door and immediately get engulfed by Taehyun as he wraps you into a big hug.

"Baby, I missed you." he mumbles into your shoulder before letting you go.

You kiss him on the cheek, ignoring the gags coming from your left. "I missed you too, how was the new arcade?"

"Fun, but it would have been better if you were there." he pouts before breaking into a smile. "So! Where's the thing you promised me this morning and insisted on being vague about?"

You chuckle at his comment, placing your hands on his shoulders as you stand behind him. "Close your eyes."

He nods, closing his eyes. You walk him to the living room, pausing in front of the door. You make eye contact with the rest of your friends, nodding to each of them as they got in their places around the room.

"Okay, you can open them!" you exclaim, moving in front of him with your arms stretched outwards.

"SUPRISE!!!" everyone cheers in unison as Taehyun opens his eyes and takes in the decorations.

Taehyun turns to you, his eyes sparkling as a big smile takes over his face. "Y/n did you guys do this all for me? This is the best birthday party ever. Thank you all so much." he says as he picks you up and spins you around.

You giggle, tapping his arm to let you down. "Cmon, let's slice the cake!" you say as you point to the dining table where the food was set up.

"The cake is my creation by the way." Yeonjun says proudly as you grab the knife to slice it with.

"And I baked the cupcakes!" Kai chimes in, leaning over to light the "20" candle on the cake.

"Should we sing something? Like Happy Birthday?" Soobin asks and you all nod in agreement.

You gesture to Taehyun who was standing in front of the cake. "Blow it out! Three, two, one..."

He leans forward and blows on the cake, and you all cheer and begin singing the song. "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Taehyun~"

Bubby laughter surrounds the table as you all chat happily. You lean back, full after eating two slices and a cupcake. The doorbell rings and you shoot up to answer it, walking into the foyer. You open the door to see the delivery person, the pony behind them with a trainer.

"Are you Y/n L/n?" the woman asks, a clipboard in hand.

"Yes, I am."

"Okay, just sign here. Where do we place the pony?"

"The stables over here, please." you answer as you gesture to the back of the house. You lead the trainer with the pony over to the stables, and they left shortly afterward after giving you a few pointers.

You already know the pony's name and gender, a mare named Dahlia. She was beautiful, with a shiny black coat and well-kept mane and tail. There was a pink ribbon wrapped around her head, shaped in a perfect bow. You smile softly as you slowly approach her stable, careful not to scare her.

"Hi, Dahlia. I'm Y/n and I'm your new owner. Don't worry, I'll make sure you are as happy as can be here, okay? Now wait here!" you say, speaking gently as to help her warm up to you.

The pony eyes you for a few seconds before snorting, and you took that as an answer. You wave to Dahlia as you walk back into the house, making a mental note that the lawn needed mowing.

"In my opinion, the PS5 is a waste of money, just get the new Switch or the Oculus with that price tag!" Taehyun argued with Beomgyu and Soobin, engaged in a heated argument about whether the game console was worth it.

"Soobin already bought it, by the way. But how would a non-gamer know which consoles are better? Your opinion is irrelevant." Beomgyu responds cheekily, looking to Yeonjun and Kai for endorsement and waving his hand dismissively at them when they shrugged in response.

Taehyun opens his mouth to counter him but pauses when he feels a strong itch in his throat. He grabs his water and takes a few big sips but the feeling wouldn't subside and instead got stronger, the itch spreading to his nose and eyes. That's weird, it feels like an allergic reaction, but there's nothing here to which I'm allergic to...

He snaps out of his thoughts as you sit down next to him, looking at you with his brows furrowed. You eye him, eyebrows shooting up when you notice his face turning red.

"Taehyun, are you okay?" you say, concerned at how flushed he was. "Your entire face is bright red."

He opens his mouth to respond but gets cut off by a loud neigh, and everyone's head turns to the back door.

"Oh, Taehyun's present is here! Let's go see it!" Kai exclaims, getting out of his seat. "You'll love this present."

Everyone follows him to the backyard, you and Taehyun in the rear as you examine his face, worry evident in your face.

"Taehyun, did you eat something you're allergic to? Or touch it?"

"No, I don't think so..." he trails off, seeing the pony. He stares at it for a few seconds before looking at you.

"Y/n... why is there a pony with a pink bow around its head in our back yard?"

You look at him, the pony, and then him again, and it finally dawns on you. "Oh my god, are you allergic to horses?!"

“y/n!” soobin calls for you, shutting the door to your apartment and locking it with the spare key you gave him. “i’m h-”

as he turns around, he’s stunned to find you waiting so closely behind him; so much so that he lets out a sharp cry. you jump as well. it might not have been the best idea to stand directly behind the door, but you’d planned the main part of the surprise so meticulously that it didn’t even cross your mind.

as he adjusts to the shock, he takes in the sight before him. his eyes soften and he begins laughing, stepping closer to you. “what’s this?” he asks, placing a hand on your arm.

“surprise…?” you say. you stretch out your arms to show him the cake you’d baked for him. it took you all day, and you had to make sure he was gone the whole time. so, you employed the assistance of your most trusted friend, kang taehyun. you knew the others couldn’t handle keeping the secret or planning a whole day’s worth of activities. you pretty much owe taehyun your life, but that’s a post-soobin day problem.

your boyfriend closely examines the cake; from its petite size - perfect for the two of you to share - to the vibrant blue sprinkles coating the sides, to the adorably written “happy birthday, baby” written in yellow frosting on the very top, and the singular blue candle sitting aglow in the middle. “i love it. thank you, babe,” he says in a relaxed, sentimental tone.

he leans in to kiss you, but luckily your common sense kicks in. “careful! blow out the candle first,” you advise. he looks at the flame and back at you, eyes crinkling with a nervous chuckle. “make a wish!”

he follows your command, closing his eyes and pursing his lips to think of the perfect wish. once he does so, he opens his eyes, blows out the candle, and finally places his lips on yours to thank you.

once you break away, faces beaming, he looks back down at the cake. “i love you, you know?” he asks, observing the thin trail of smoke emanating from the candle.

“i love you t-”

“i was talking to the cake.” with no hesitation, soobin grabs the confection out of your hands and heads to the kitchen. with your jaw dropped, you follow him with your eyes. he flashes you a cheeky smirk before exiting the room, prompting you to chase after him; not because you’re mad at his actions, but rather because if you don’t intervene fast enough, you might neve see that cake again in a matter of minutes.

as you enter the kitchen to find him hunched over the counter, the cake sitting helplessly below his loving yet hungry gaze, you shout, “drop the dessert!”

“but it’s mine!”

“it’s ours.”

“hey! when you gave me that spare key, you said, and i quote, ‘what’s mine is yours’, did you not?” he states, exaggerating his impression of your voice for emphasis.

he makes a good point. you pause. “well… i mean-”

“i’m kidding. here,” he says, grabbing a fork from the drawer below the counter. he digs into the cake (which… all your hard work down the drain- it’s fine) and places a hand under to catch any stray sprinkles as he brings the fork toward your mouth. you accept the bite with a smile. he goes in for a second forkful, but before he can take a bite, you grab it from him.

“allow me,” you command in a silly, mockingly fancy voice. he giggles, tucking his hands behind his back and opening his mouth for you. once he begins chewing, his eyes widen. he looks back and forth between you and the cake.

“y/n…”

“yes~” you respond, eager for him to compliment your baking skills.

but he’s soobin. so, instead, he grabs the fork, grabs the cake, and sprints into the living room. you groan, chasing after him once again.

at the end of the day, all your efforts proved to be worthwhile. especially considering there weren’t any leftovers.
