I love that you can kind of tell the Team Star Bosses' personalities a little based on the pokeballs they use.

Mela is brash and impatient, so she uses Quick Balls.

Ortega is the spoiled rich brat, so obviously uses Luxury Balls.

Eri is a protector who doesn't actually want to hurt anyone, so uses Heal Balls.

Giacomo is a strategist who likes to plan things meticulously, and uses Timer Balls.

Atticus... is probably the only exception, tbh, unless I've missed something. He uses Repeat Balls.

Y’know, I’m kinda curious… who’s everyone’s favorite, out of all of us Team Star leaders? Now that we’ve turned over a new leaf, anyhow…

Personally, I like Eri the best. No reason. But, hm, Attie always helps make super pretty outfits… and if Giacomo didn’t make our code, it never woulda worked… plus he made my battle music… and Mela’s so so cool, with her new club… and even though Ortie’s a cutie, he’s still so good with fixing up machines on the hardware side that we work together a lot…

Giacomo x Reader!

FLUFF + GN READER :)

Now that he has finally secured team star, met the big boss— or uh, Penny, (He still needs to get used to that!) And has now returned back to school with his friends— he was sure everything would go smoothly!

He was wrong.

The dark type user never really thought about… romance. It never really crossed his mind, thinking no one could like him since he was bullied. He was always quirky, plus his eyebags were a little weird. But now that things are different, it changed that thought.

He was simply composing a new beat, and named it after his crush. Sadly the world was against him as he was approached from behind by two people.

A red and blue haired girl stared at him, furrowing her brows as she stood next to a certain (H/C).

“Uhm… Momo, are you okay?” Questioned Penny.

Quickly, Giacomo snapped out of his trance as he fumbled with his computer, slamming it shut as his cheeks burned. (E/C) eyes met his and he quickly snapped them away.

“Y-Yeah…! Just, y’know… tunin’ into my new music.” He played it off cooly. (His voice uped a pitch)

You blinked at the way he kept avoiding your gaze, and shrugged, a grin breaking out onto your face. “Asombroso! Could I listen to it? I love your music Giacomo.”

“NO!” He yelled, making you frown, a rejected look on your face. He regretted that— “ I mean… uhhhh… Its not ready yet…”

Penny deadpanned, looking between her team star friend, and the champion student aka (Y/N), aka you.

He couldn’t be more obvious. And you couldn’t be more oblivious. Penny facepalmed before turning around. “I’m gonna go. Hasta la vistar.” She lazily did the signature team star pose before leaving.

You waved at her and told her you’d text her, while Giacomo completely screamed inside for Penny to not leave.

Now it was just you and him. Alone. In the classroom. AFTER SCHOOL HOURS… Maybe being expelled was better—

“—como? Giacomo?” When you waved a hand in fromt his his face, he realized he was staring at you. With his jaw dropped open. He snapped his mouth shut.

Goddamnit.

“Oh uh yeah!” He grinned, scratching the back of his neck before quickly swerving back around to face his desk properly. Shoulders tense and face flustered.

He tipped his hat more down, trying to cover his eyes.

Giacomo heard the sound of the seat next to him moving and he looked to the side, seeing you sit down next to him. Curse these damn double desks!

“Soooo?” You dragged on

“Huh?” Blinked Giacomo.

“Why have you been avoiding me lately?” You frowned, leaning towards him making his cheeks burn as he tried to look anywhere else besides at you.

“I said I was working on a new beat!” He chuckled nervously.

You stared at him for a good moment before shaking your head. “Ahh… Is this for going hard on you when I swung by your camp to battle?”

Thank god you were an airhead. A cute airhead.

Giacomo quickly shook his head, “No! Of course not. I love you— BATTLING YOU! It’s fun— fun, and awesome, prometo!” He stuttered.

You lifted your head and played with your school tie, “Really?”

“Yes. I wouldn’t lie to you (Y/N).” He smiled, recovering from his screw up.

You threw your arms in the air before glomping the dark pokemon user into a hug, leaning into him, “YAAAY! I love battling you too!”

Giacomo felt his heart skip a beat. ‘AGHHHHPWKDLS’

“I was worried you were mad at me…” You continued.

Meanwhile Giacomo’s face blew up into a tomato as he struggled to reply, hands hovering in the air as they flailed around unsure what to do with them. Your cheek pressed against his chest, arms around him in a hug.

All of a sudden you gasped. “Hu—Huh?” He stammered.

“I know!” You pulled back a little to look up at Giacomo, still having him wrapped in your death like grip of a hug. His dark eyes stared into your (E/C) ones that were filled with excitement.

“Lets go get some ice cream, Giacomo. My treat!” You grinned before pulling away from the hug, causing Giacomo to finally breathe and cover his face with his hand, still blushing from the hug.

“Are you sure…? I, uh, I’m not the most popular you know? And you’re the champion and you—“

You cut him off, “Oh shush you. I don’t care about all of that reputation crap. I care about you more!” You huffed.

Giacomo shot his head up, eyes blown wide from his usual relaxed look. “Me?”

“Yeah duhh.” You grinned, before grabbing his hand, interlacing your fingers with his hand. “HUH— WAIT! WOAH?”

You laughed a little before pulling him up from his desk and seat. “Vamos, before they close!” You cheered, quickly moving to the classroom door, Giacomo now fully combusting at his hand in yours.

God you were so oblivious… but that just made you all the more cuter to him.

I love Team Star a lot, actually

This is like. a lighthearted mini rant, mainly cuz I am tired of seeing Team Star getting the "they're bad cuz they're not evil" treatment. Honestly remembering the context that ScarVio takes place within a school environment, having an evil team that's just a group of delinquents works perfectly, considering you don't really personally interact with adults plotting to end the world during your school career.

I get that those kinds of evil teams tend to appeal better, but if Team Skull is able to get a lot of love while also being a group of delinquents (albeit influenced by a bigger evil), then what's stopping Team Star from getting the same kind of love?

This does have vague spoilers for Indigo Disk, and obvious spoilers for the main story, so please proceed with caution and read at your own risk.

I went into the Starfall Street storyline without expecting much, I mean, when Cassiopeia came to us asking to help disband Team Star, I didn't think much of it.

"We need to disband a group of delinquents cuz they're causing the school a lot of trouble? Okay, sure, whatever."

But every time we met up with Penny in-between each star base, and she starts putting details into our heads about how everyone in Team star were bullying victims, and this was their way of standing up to their bullies, I saw them in a completely different light.

Bullying is something that's, unfortunately, still frequent in a lot of schools, and I'm a victim of bullying myself. So when all these details came to my attention, I grew extremely fond of all these characters. I grew especially fond of Giacomo, who was alienated from his peers for his strict policies when on the student council.

In all honesty, ScarVio is very down to earth with its story and how it's portrayed, so much so that I forgot I was playing a Pokemon game, since I'm used to these elements of whimsy being present. Team Star at its core is a group of young kids who were bonded together by similar experiences, and use that similarity to lift each other up and support one another. Operation Starfall only came into effect because of threats of expulsion, and Penny cared for them too much to let that happen.

Team Star was built on the basis of love, and while calling them an "Evil Team" after learning all this is a little weird, they initially present themselves as antagonistic, so it still checks that box. That love is still present in a cutscene after finishing the Indigo Disk, where the Team Star bosses take it upon themselves to form a study group so they don't stress Penny out too much.

These characters feel so real, and honestly all the characters do. They're so full of personality and color yet don't feel overly exaggerated. For Team Star, there's bonding with others through your loneliness and alienation, the uncertainty of not know what the future will bring, and treasuring your friends even if they don't know how much you truly care for them at first.

So sure, Team Star isn't evil. But by no means are they bad characters. I've found comfort in them, as I'm sure many others have too. Their experiences are real, and has happened to others. But everyone can have their own opinion, just don't push yours onto others because they don't agree with it.

Heyyy, so... I heard a bunch of the other squad bosses were making accounts here, and I thought, "That. Is. SO. UNFAIR." Like, I thought we agreed we weren't ever gonna go anywhere without all the others!! So of course I had to join in, hehehe! Hope you guys didn't get too used to blogging without me, cuz...

Almost forgot! I got some other pokemon, too. Bauble the Iron Bundle, Lancelot the Furfrou, and uh, a Milcery egg waiting to hatch... Preeetty much the best little guys in the region.

If you want to see them in person, Ruchbah Squad Base is always open to bright-eyed folks ready to train. We've got the STC program, and if you're lucky, you might catch me done with my classes and ready to take challenges... Just don't get too salty when me and the team blow you away, hehehe!
