Catch Up My Prince. 6-7
Story: 6
Acting: 10
Chemistry: 10
Comparable to: Go and Domain Your Game (cdrama); Unique Lady (cdrama); Love 020 (cdrama)
Probably top tier of storyline being so messed not making a lick of sense, especially in the beginning episodes. It takes a handful of episodes at least to episode eight where the storyline takes a bit of form, but nothing really still connects with lots of plot holes. What draws you in though is the phenomenal chemistry between the main leads, for me especially Liu Yichang is a huge highlight in this. The rest of the cast is amazing as well. I love the whole dynamic of all of them together.

DW Potential Additions Tier List
So I made some spreadsheets but decided I was putting in too much work so here’s a quick summary.
I was grading on a scale of 1-5. 1 was characters I really don’t htink would add anything good, but who I thought some might suggest (like Cao Zhi, Jia Nanfeng, Pan Zhang, Zhao Guang, Zhang Ren, etc.) 2 is people who could maybe work under very specific circumstances, like a big narrative shift or a lot of related characters being added, or who might be fine but aren’t nearly as good as some other options (like Cheng Yu, Cao Xi, Wu Jing, Mi Zhu, or Gao Gan). These don’t really make the cut for discussion, so if you don’t see a name you’re expecting, I probably put them in one of those tiers for some reason.
Tier 3 are characters who would be fine. Just fine. They either did enough to make themselves noteworthy, or have enough of a connecting to existing narrative and cast that they’d probably add something worthwhile. Not the ones I’d be most excited about, but the ones I couldn’t make too many complaints over.
Tier 4 are great adds. Characters I really want to see, who could really expand the cast in worthwhile ways.
Tier 5 are characters I forget aren’t in these games already because why are they not here?
I’m not going to explain every decision here because I’m sure there will be followup questions. Yes, I’m aware that Jin is overrepresented, because it’s the smallest of the main factions.

Records of Liu He
Liu Yuan had died on 29 August. This is a compilation of the parallel texts in JS101 and ZZTJ087.
He, courtesy name Xuantai, was 8 chi tall. He was valiant, resolute, and had pleasing manners and decorum. He was fond of studying and as a youth was fully formed. He practised Mao's Poetry, Mr. Zao's Spring and Autumn, Mr. Zheng's Changes. When he became the designated successor, on the inside he had many suspicions of jealousy and steered his subordinates without kindness. When Yuanhai died, He inherited the bogus rank.
The Lineage Corrector, Huyan You, was the son of Yi. Yuan, since he was without talented acts, he as a result personally did not change his office. The Palace Attendants Liu Cheng had a long-standing hatred for the King of Chu, Cong. The Commandant of Guards, the King of Xichang, Rui, was ashamed he was not prepared for looking after the instructions. They therefore planned together, and did not assist in looking after the instructions. They advised He, saying:
The Former Emperor did not particularly plan for the light and weighty, and made the three kings collect strong troops on the inside. The Great Marshal grasps a hundred thousand tough soldiers to reside in the nearby suburbs. Your Majesty now readily was made to temporarily have the throne, that is all. The calamitous difficulties of this is not possible to estimate. Consider Your Majesty, to soon do something about it.
He was precisely You's sister's son, and he deeply trusted him.
On xinsi [31 August], at night, he summoned the [Generals who] Leads the Army, the King of Anchang, Liu Sheng, the King of Anyi, Liu Qin, Ma Jing, and others to inform them. Sheng said:
The Former Emperor still is in the funeral palace, the four kings are not yet opposed to authority. Now to suddenly in a single morning ourself [make] fish meat of each other, Your Subject fear people will not nourish Your Majesty's after-comers. The Four Seas are not yet settled, the great patrimony is just now like this. [I] wish Your Majesty will use first completing the Former Emperor's vast foundation as [your] aspiration, and moreover block [your] ears and not listen to these words of insane negligence. The Poetry states: “Why no other people? [They] are not as good as my same fathers [i.e. brothers].” Your Majesty, as soon as [you] do not trust the various younger brothers, then who can [you] trust!
Rui and You angrily said:
In the discussions of today the reasoning has not been divided. [General who] Leads the Army, what words are these!
Hence he instructed left and right to cut him down. When Sheng had died, Qin and Jing in fear said:
Be it Your Majesty's decree, Your Subject and others will die to serve, and will do notthing but succeed!
They therefore swore an oath with each other in the Eastern Hall.
On renwu [1 September],  Rui led Ma Jing to attack the King of Chu, Cong, at the Tribunal of the Shanyu. You led the King of Yong'an, Liu Anguo, to attack the King of Qi, Yu, at the Office of the Minister over the Masses. He sent Cheng and the [General of] Martial Guards, Liu Qin, to attack the King of Lu, Long, and the Master of Writing Tian Mi and the the [General of] Martial Guards, Liu Xuan, to attack the King of Bohai, Ai.
Mi, Xuan and others took hold of A to cleave the gate bars and flee to Cong. Cong instructed soldiers in linked armour to accordingly attend to them. Rui knew Cong was prepared, and hurried to turn back. He met with You, Cheng and others to attack Long and Yu. You and Cheng feared for Anguo and Qin were disloyal, and beheaded them. That day, they beheaded Yu.
On guiwei [2 September], they beheaded Long.
On jiashen [3 September], Cong attacked the Ximing Gate, and overcame it. Rui and others fled to enter the Western Palace. The vanguard followed them.
On yiyou [4 September], they beheaded He in the Brilliant Eminence Western Chamber. They gathered Rui, You and Cheng, and put their heads on display at the thoroughfare.

WHO-China Scientists Warn of Missing Key Studies Window
— Global Times Staff Reporters | Aug 25 2021
Tumblr media
Illustration: Liu Rui/Global Times
The US has failed at COVID-19 origins tracing and its intelligence report on the virus origins was a failed set-up and buck-passing report, although the full report has not been released yet, insiders said, after US media reports said the report was "inconclusive" in determining the cause of the pandemic.
Some international scientists who believe the critical window for key scientific study on the coronavirus origins is closing, stressed that the US' intelligence report having no new evidence has been expected by most scientists around the world, as its report was not conducted based on science and not in cooperation with China and other countries.
The Global Times learned from sources that the report tried to smear China as the culprit of the pandemic using second-hand and unreliable evidence to prove the "lab leak" theory, a hypothesis even US scientific institutions and allies find far-fetched, and to achieve its political purpose, the US also sought to clamp down on scientists and the WHO, rope in its allies, and coerce China's neighbors to join in its smear campaign against China.
At Wednesday's media briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said that US' virus tracing report compiled by its intelligence agencies was not for the truth of the virus origins, but to shift blame to China for its own mishandling of COVID-19 pandemic, and "such a set-up and political report cannot, of course, draw any scientific conclusions," Wang said.
He said that US officials' claim that there's a lack of information from China, was just an excuse to cover up the US' failure in virus tracing using intelligence.
Wang's remarks were made after US media reports cited US officials as saying that the intelligence report didn't yield a definitive conclusion on whether the coronavirus jumped to humans naturally, or via a lab leak, in part because of the "lack of detailed information from China."
A scientist with deep knowledge of COVID-19 origins tracing told the Global Times on Wednesday on condition of anonymity that the lack of new evidence from US intelligence analysts is what most scientists around the world expected, as tracing the origins of emerging diseases is difficult work that requires deep scientific understanding, experience working in the field and a close collaboration with the country that experienced the first known cases.

In the origins-tracing farce, the US acted dramatically —Global Times | August 25, 2021 | Through the lens. Illustration: Liu Rui/GT
"The sooner we remove the political interference, and get back to allowing our scientists to work collaboratively with China, the sooner we'll find out exactly how this virus emerged," the scientist said.
Marion Koopmans, head of the viroscience department at the Erasmus MC Rotterdam in the Netherlands and a member of World Health Organization (WHO)-China joint study on virus origins, told the Global Times that she does not expect that US' report to provide conclusive answers without additional studies that need to be conducted in China and elsewhere.
In May, US President Joe Biden announced a jaw-dropping decision, demanding US intelligence officers look into the origins of the coronavirus, and he gave the task a deadline of 90 days.
Since the US kept insisting that the lab leak hypothesis should not be ruled out despite waves of scientists globally reiterating their natural origins stances, China on Tuesday for the first time officially demanded the WHO investigate Fort Detrick lab and the University of North Carolina through diplomatic channels, as Chen Xu, Permanent Representative of China to the UN Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, on Tuesday sent a letter to Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the WHO, asking the WHO to conduct an investigation in the two US places for the next round of virus origins investigation in the spirit of fairness and justice. The letter is attached to a petition signed by more than 25 million Chinese netizens sent to the WHO demanding an investigation into the Fort Detrick lab.
After Chen submitted the letter, Fu Cong, director general of the Department of Arms Control and Disarmament of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, sorted out several mysteries that the international community is concerned about the two labs at a Wednesday media briefing, and once again urged the US not to politicize the issue.
Scapegoating China cannot whitewash the United States, Fu said.
The window is closing
As the US has been exhausting all means to lure and coerce some scientists to serve its political agenda to suppress China by hyping unfounded topics like "China refuses to join the virus origins tracing work," most scientists are dissatisfied with and oppose the US in politicizing the issue, the Global Times learned from a source.
In a rare move, the international scientists of WHO's SARS-CoV-2 origins tracing mission to China on Wednesday warned that the window for key scientific study is closing due to months-long stalled follow-up work since WHO's March report, stressing the urgency for scientific collaborative study while removing political interference which has focused on the lab leak theory, tried to discredit scientists and drive a wedge among them.
In the most recent paper published in Nature, 11 international scientists including Dutch virologist Koopmans and EcoHealth Alliance president Peter Daszak who undertook a 28-day mission to Wuhan, Central China's Hubei Province in January on the global study of virus origins and completed a WHO report in March, said the March report was "meant to be the first step" in a process that has stalled. It warned the window of opportunity for conducting this crucial inquiry is closing fast, and any delay will render some of the studies biologically impossible. "Understanding the origins of a devastating pandemic is a global priority, grounded in science," the piece said.
Koopmans told the Global Times on Wednesday that the authors of the Nature paper wanted to draw attention to the long delay between the initial work and the start of follow-up studies. "We now are approaching September, and there is no indication of when follow-up work could start. We feel that is taking too long and wanted to express that concern," she said.
In explaining the urgency of the next stage origins tracing work, Koopmans mentioned some time-sensitive studies such as the serological studies to stored blood bank samples collected in the later months of 2019 to identify the earlier pockets of cases.
She said WHO scientists talked to Hubei's blood banks during their stay and agreed to keep the samples, but "we also recommended similar studies in other regions inside and outside of China with early evidence for cases using the same methods, and that has not been arranged and may become impossible," she said.
Another author of the paper who requested anonymity told the Global Times on Wednesday that as time goes by, samples will get misplaced or degraded, people's memories will fade and antibodies will wane, making tracing work harder.
Tumblr media
WHO-China team scientists warn window for virus origins inquiry closing fast amid political interference, hype of 'lab leak' theory. GT staff reporters | August 25, 2021 | Illustration: Liu Rui/GT
Moreover, the origins tracing work is now closely connected with international relations. The anonymous author said the sooner we get closer to an answer on origins, the sooner international relations will begin to improve as the "focus on the lab leak theory may mean on-the-ground work gets held up by political arguments."
Ever since the scientists completed and released their report of the China mission in March, US-led Western countries have geared up political manipulation to smear China using the "lab leak" theory, which was deemed as extremely unlikely in the report, discredited the report and pressed international scientists to change their natural hypothesis views.
The anonymous author, also a team member of the WHO-China joint study team, said it's clear political messaging and interference have tried to undermine the report's findings, discredit scientists involved, and try to drive a wedge among them.
"We stand united as a team behind the work we did with our colleagues in China. We reaffirm our confidence in the results of our analyses on which pathways are most likely and which are not, and strongly believe in the importance of keeping this work as a scientific collaborative study, and removing political influences," he said.
Priorities for follow-up study
In the paper, the WHO scientist stated six priorities for follow-up studies to lead from the initial studies in China, highlighting critical trace-back of people and animals in regions inside and outside China that have the earliest evidence for circulation of the virus, and targeted surveys of possible reservoir or intermediate hosts. But it did not include the "lab leak" theory, a sharp contrast with the WHO's next-phase origins-tracing work proposal asking for "audits of laboratories in Wuhan" and Biden's 90-day intelligence report.
Koopmans said that the paper did not include "lab leak" hypothesis as initial work did not provide evidence for involvement of a laboratory, and in the paper, scientists said since the March report, "We have publicly called for any data supporting the lab leak hypothesis to be published and submitted to the WHO. None has, so far."
Chinese health officials and scientists have rejected repeatedly virus origins studies driven by "lab leak" hypothesis.
Liang Wannian, the team leader of the Chinese side of the WHO-convened joint expert team on origins tracing, told a media briefing this month that scientists reached the consensus of "extremely unlikely" after thorough study in Wuhan on the lab leak hypothesis, which should not be included in the next-phase study, considering the conclusions and evidence from the joint report.
In fact, the next-phase study should be carried out in multiple places worldwide covering countries such as where the Chinese horseshoe bat and pangolins reside, nations that lack sufficient testing, places with animal and human being data tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and who supplied Wuhan Huanan market through cold-chain logistics, Liang said.

How much do you know about the 8 princes of Jin china? I know ther'es a lot of greedy grabby princes about but who do you think the true heroes villains of that time-period were?
Boy, am I glad someone asked me this. Yes, I know a lot about this period, and it is probably one of my favourite periods. Many people dismiss this era as being one of avaricious and malevolent princes, but I actually find that many of these people were fascinating. And, contrary to popular belief, it was more than just princes bickering over power for a couple decades, although it’s quite easy to understand why someone could make this mistake.
No.1 hero? Sima Ai, Prince of Changsha[n].
I don’t think it would be quite right to compose a list of the heroes of this age without putting him somewhere up there at the top. Sima Ai was the younger brother of Sima Wei, and participated in some of his activities. I’m not even going to get started on his antics, but Sima Ai was only fourteen years old following his very influential and sole full-blood brother. He can be forgiven. As an adult, he decided to act against Sima Jiong, the regent who had been monopolising power. He was initially used by Sima Yong as a scapegoat for justifying his own rebellion, but Sima Ai was able to defeat Sima Jiong. Sima Ai made no attempts to monopolise power as his predecessors had done, and insisted on acting as co-regent together with Sima Ying. Even when Sima Ying and Sima Yong plotted against him, he attempted to prevent his commander, Huangfu Zhong, from advancing, and made numerous attempts to make peace with his brother (whose allies he had been thwarting continuously). However, he was betrayed and seized by his subordinate, Sima Yue, and executed by Zhang Fang.
Which brings us to Zhang Fang, the greatest villain of the age.
Zhang Fang was a general who allied himself with Sima Yong. He was responsible for most of the bitterness between many of the princes and the most significant accelerant of chaos. He  captured Sima Jiong’s general Xiahou Shi and his followers, and executed them all - by cutting them in half by the waist (the same way Qin Chancellor Li Si went). Later, when Sima Yong had found himself against Sima Ai, Zhang Fang was sent to attack Huangfu Shang (Zhong’s younger brother) and able to arrive at Luoyang. There, he plundered the city and the towns around, resulting in about 40 thousand deaths, and possibly much more, the majority of these being civilians. He wasn’t even able to capture it. He then had Sima Ai burned to death. While dealing with Liu Chen’s rebellion, Zhang Fang abducted ten thousand slave girls from Luoyang and supplied his armies by killing some of them, and many other civilians, and mixing their flesh with horse meat and beef. Liu Chen was also cut in half by the waist once captured too. When the crown prince welcomed him back to the capital, Zhang Fang immediately deposed him and Emperor Hui’s empress, and continued to allow his soldiers to pillage the land. He then relocated the capital to Chang’an, but not before permitting one final plunder, allowing his soldiers to seize any women they wanted from the city and imperial harem. All the ornaments and treasures that had been accumulated by Han, Wei and Jin were also stolen so that there was nothing remaining. The only reason why he didn’t burn Luoyang to the ground was because he wanted to avoid any comparisons to Dong Zhuo (following advice given to him by a man called Lu Zhi, no less). A bit late, anyhow, and Zhang Fang was worse than Dong Zhuo, in my humble opinion. He was even the reason why Sima Yue (in emulation of Yuan Shao and Cao Cao) made a call-to-arms for warlords and generals around the empire to oppose Zhang Fang’s power. The situation had grown so bad that even Sima Yong was forced to act against him, sending Zhi Fu to assassinate Zhang Fang in his camp in a vain attempt to appease the coalition. By this point, the empire was irreversibly weakened, and the likes of Liu Yuan and Shi Le were able to sweep in and take over the situation.
This period is home to an assortment of heroes and talents, such as:
Sima Xin, Huangfu Shang, Huangfu Zhong, Liu Hong, Tao Kan, Sima Yao, Liu Qiao, Liu Kun, Sima Mao, Wang Jun, Wei Huacan, Sima Xiao, Liu Qiao, Wang Rong, Feng Song, Murong Hui, Sima Yue, Liu Zhun, Li Te, Li Xiong, Zhang Gui, Yang Yao, Wei Guan, Sima Liang, Wang Dao, Liu Yuan, Liu Cong, Sima Rui, Lu Zhi, Gongsun Hong, Qi Sheng, Jia Nanfeng, Liu Wen, Yang Xi, Wen Xian, Pei Wei, Zhang Hua, Sima Yu, Gou Xi, Tian Hui, Hai Xi
and a variety of villains and troublemakers, such as:
Yang Jun, Sima Jiong, Sima Lun, Sun Xiu, Rong Hui, Meng Guan, Liu He, Shi Le, Gongshi Fan, Sima Xiao, Sun Hui, Xu Chao, Shi Yi, Lu Ji, Sima Yong, Sima Ying, Zhang Lin, Zhang Heng
There are many others. I know a lot about these guys, and a lot of information has recently been translated, so I’m learning more too. Feel free to ask me about anything.

Fu Jian of Qin's 20th Year of Jianyuan
Sima Yao of Jin's 9th Year of Taiyuan
384th Year of the Lord
Consulship of Flavius Richomeres and Clearchus
New Year's Day at Ye
On New Year's Day, 8 February 384, Fu Pi held a great assembly of all his guests at Ye. But when he realized Murong Nong was absent, he started suspect something was afoot, so he sent people out in all directions to look for him. After three days learnt that Murong Nong had gone to Lieren, and was already raising troops there. (ZZTJ105)
Murong Chui before Luoyang
As Murong Chui was crossing the He, he sent out an order to his army, stating that while he had previously outwardly supported Qin, he had secretly planned to restore Yan. Punishment for breaking the law would be regular, and rewards for good service timely. Fiefs and ranks would be handed out once the matter had been settled, and not gone back on. (JS123)
Murong Feng, Wang Teng and Duan Yan urged Zhai Bin to offer Murong Chui leadership of the uprising against Qin. Zhai Bin agreed, and sent messengers to Chui. But Murong Chui refused, claiming to still be loyal to Qin. Fu Jian had shown Chui and his family exceptional favour, and their relationship was like father and son. Chui had come to see the Shepherd of Yu province, Fu Hui, at Luoyang, not to meet with Zhai Bin. It was Bin who had risen up, he should accept the consequences of failure or the rewards success, and not involve Chui in it. (JS123, ZZTJ105)
On 9 February Murong Chui arrived before Louyang. But the news of Fu Feilong's death had preceded him, and Fu Hui shut the gates of the city before him. Zhai Bin sent his Senior Clerk Guo Tong to once more offer his allegiance to Chui. When Chui still refused, Tong asked him if it was just because Zhai Bin and his brothers were men of no special talent from different people, and were certain to fail? If Chui would not be so jittery about it, he could aid his cause greatly. Chui finally agreed. (ZZTJ105)
Zhai Bin led his forces to join up with Murong Chui, and urged Chui to declare himself Emperor. But Chui argued that Murong Wei was still the rightful ruler of Yan. He intended only to conquer the east, the old Yan lands, reach an understanding with Qin, and wait for Wei to return. He had no thoughts to elevate himself. (ZZTJ105)
Murong Chui in Xingyang
With no easy way to take Luoyang city, Murong Chui concluded that his position there was too vulnerable, he was open to attack from all sides and hemmed in by the He to the north, it would be better to move north again and capture Ye, and use that city as his base. Chui therefore moved his army east into Xingyang, and sent Wang Teng to build a floating bridge at Shimen. (JS123) Yu Wei, Grand Warden of Xingyang and former King of Fuyu (Kor. Buyeo), and Wei Ju of the Changli Xianbei both submitted to Murong Chui.
In Xingyang Murong Chui's followers again pressed for him to declare himself emperor. Instead he chose to follow the precedence of Sima Rui, the founding emperor of Eastern Jin. In 317 AD, when Sima Rui learned that the final Western Jin emperor had been taken captive, he had at first only taken the title of King of Jin, and after he heard the Emperor had died did he formally succeed as Emperor. In the same way, Murong Chui now declared himself King of Yan, Great General and Great Commander-in-Chief and only claimed provisional authority of the state. But in practice the distinction was paper-thin as Chui's subordinates spoke of themselves as his subjects and addressed their proposals to him as if to the throne. (ZZTJ105)
Murong Chui also handed out ranks and titles to his main followers:
Zhai Bin as General who Establishes Righteousness and King of Henan (JS123)
Zhai Tan as General who Supports the State and King of Hongnong (JS123, he was Zhai Bin's brother)
His brother Murong De as Great General of Chariots and Cavalry and King of Fanyang (JS123, Murong De had been King of Fanyang during old Yan)
His nephew Murong Kai as Great General who Conquers the West of and King of Taiyuan (JS123, last seen fleeing Ye with Murong Nong. His father Murong Kai had been King of Taiyuan during old Yan)
Yu Wei as General who Conquers the East, Marshal of Left on his staff, and King of Fuyu (ZZTJ105)
Wei Ju as Hawk Arising General (ZZTJ105)
Murong Heng as General who Establishes Records (ZZTJ105)
Wang Teng as General who Establishes Power (JS123, already named as such just earlier in the text, but I guess it was connected with the rest)
Murong Chui's forces had now increased to more than 20 000. He crossed the He at Shimen, as prepared by Wang Teng, and set out for a long drive towards Ye. (JS123)
Murong Nong gathers forces
When Murong Nong first fled to Lieren, he had come to the house of Lu Li of the Wuhuan. Lu Li set out food for him, but Nong only smiled and did not eat anything. A puzzled Lu Li asked his wife why this young nobleman had come to them, if they were too poor to provide for him. She replied that Nong was gallant and ambitious, and must have come for some other purpose than to eat and drink. So Li went back to his guest, and Nong confided his plan to raise troops at Lieren to restore Yan. Li swore to follow him to the death. Nong next went to Zhang Xiang of the Wuhuan and explained to him that the Murong royal house had already risen, and Zhai Bin and many others had responded. Zhang Xiang replied he would face death to restore Murong Wei to his throne. Murong Nong then began turning the people of Lieren into an army. They cut down mulberry trees to make weapons and tore up clothing to make banners. (ZZTJ105)
(I wonder if  惡奴, contrary Hu Sanxing's opinion, may have been Murong Nong's nickname rather than Lu Li's wife's)
Murong Qiu sent Zhao Qiu to recruit several other leaders as well:
Bi Cong, Bu Sheng, Zhang Yan and Li Bai of the Chuge branch of the Xiongnu
Yu He and Chi Le of the Eastern Yi (so originally from Manchuria or Korea, Yu He has the same family name as Yu Wei above.)
Liu Tai of the Yiyang Wuhuan
Each led their followers to Murong Nong. Nong provisionally made Zhang Xiang General who Assists the State, Liu Tai General who Calms the Distant, and Lu Li General who Establishes Power. As described above, all three were Wuhuan. (ZZTJ105)
Murong Nong then personally led an attack on Guantao, which they captured, and there seized arms and armour. He also sent Lan Han, Duan Zan, Zhao Qiu and Muyu Xi to seize several thousand cattle and horses at Kangtai. (ZZTJ105)
Murong Nong took the title of Envoy Holding the Tally, Commander-in-Chief of All Army Affairs North of the He, and Great General of Agile Cavalry. At first he had been reluctant to grant titles and rewards on his own authority, but Zhao Qiu advised him that an army without rewards would not march, and that everyone who had come to join him hoped for quick results. He should assume provisional authority to make appointments, and so strengthen the base Yan's restoration. Murong Nong followed this advise, and his strength continued to grow. (ZZTJ105)
With the news of his rising spreading, Murong Nong could now call in Kunuguan Wei from Shangdang, Qite Gui from Dong'e and the brothers Ping Rui and Ping You from Yan. He also sent Lan Han to attack Dunqiu, which was captured. Nong's commands were orderly, his soldiers did not engage in private plundering, and people were happy. (ZZTJ105) One source says his army now numbered a hundred thousand, but this must be an exaggeration. (JS123)

[TKA Fan Radio Drama] Glory Professional Alliance Sports Meet (with translated transcript)
One of those fan radio drama from a couple of years back. It’s pretty fun~
Many of the voices actors that took part in this ended up officially in the animation for characters such as Ye Xiu, Huang Shaotian, Steam Bun, Han Wenqing. This fan radio drama is actually one of the reasons why they ended up in their respective roles. I really love the voice acting here!
Someone put up the transcript so I took liberties to loosely translate it here. Many thanks to Amsdia & Merlin for doing a quick proofread!
I was halfway into the translation when I realised that people who finished the book probably don’t need this translation. -o- People who are following the English translation of the novel probably aren’t familiar with half of the characters here. There’s also bunch of spoilers... Oh well.... You’ve been warned.
Translation:
Glory Professional Alliance Sports Meet
Chairman Feng: We are at the tail-end of summer, as the autumn wind rounds the corner. Thanks to the valiant efforts of the Sports Committee and the participants, the first Glory Alliance Sports Meet opens today! (Applause) Blah blah blah…...
Wei Chen: Damn it. Why is Old Feng so long-winded today? He was never this bad during the pro-league prize presentations.
Ye Xiu: Yeah, it’s been almost an hour. Man, I’m about to be burned to death.
Wei Chen: What the fuck are you doing?
Ye Xiu: I can barely stand. Come on, let me lean on you for a bit.
Wei Chen: Get off. Can’t you see that I’m in the same situation?
Ye Xiu: Get Cold Hands to recover your HP.
Wei Chen: Why don’t you do that!?
Fang Rui: Hey, will the two of you keep it down? Have some restraint.
Wei Chen: Fang Rui, you shameless fucker. Saying that when you’re about to fall onto Tyranny’s side yourself.
Ye Xiu: Say, Old Han, aren’t you Tyranny people feeling the heat in all that black clothing? Who’s the designer? Does he hate you?
Huang Shaotian: Hot like hell hot like hell hot like hell hot like hell hot like hell hot like hell! Captain, don’t you think that the Alliance must be brain dead from the heat? What’s with organizing such a stupid Sports Meet before the competitions? That’s totally heartless and inhuman! Don’t you agree, Captain? Don’t you agree?
Yu Wenzhou: Chairman Feng has mentioned that the body is essential to playing games. Therefore pro-players also need to train up.
Wei Chen: Haha. Do you really buy that explanation?
Yu Wenzhou: Ah. Hello Captain Wei.
Huang Shaotian: Say, Boss Wei. How could you eavesdrop on others’ conversations?
Wei Chen: Bullshit, kid. Who needs to eavesdrop when you’re that loud? Didn’t you see Old Feng glaring at you from the corner of his eyes? [Pang Guang = corner of his eyes]
Huang Shaotian: Side glance, Boss, it should be side glance. “Pang Guang” is for pissing. [Pang Guang = bladder]
Wei Chen: Piss off! I meant “pang” as in side! Are you looking for a beating?
Huang Shaotian: Hey, hey, a gentleman doesn’t raise his hands.
Wei Chen: (hitting while saying) I am so raising them! Raising and using them!
Huang Shaotian: Sidestepping, sidestepping. Haha, heh, you can’t hit me~
Cheng Guo: (speechless) Seriously, that’s enough...
Tang Rou: Frankly, it’s a pretty daunting task for people who aren’t used to working out to compete in such sweltering heat.
Ye Xiu: Sigh. Should have applied for sick leave. I’m starting to miss the keyboard and in-game world.
Lin Jingyan: God Ye is sick? What illness?
Han Wenqing: Final stage of lazy cancer.
Everyone: Pft! (laughter)
Steam Bun: What? Boss has cancer? Oh no! When did that happen?
Ye Xiu: Steam Bun, you...
Su Mucheng: Shh. Quiet, quiet. The Chairman is almost done with his speech.
Chairman Feng: … And I hereby announce, the Glory Alliance Friendly Sports Meet, starts now!
Pan Lin: Hello everyone, I am Pan Lin, your announcer for today.
Li Yibo: And I am Li Yibo.
Pan Lin: First up is the Men’s 200m heats. Let us put our hands together to welcome our first group of competitors!
Li Yibo: They are: Wei Chen from Team Happy, Huang Shaotian from Team Blue Rain, Xiao Shiqin from Team Thunderclap, Wu Yuce from Team Void, and Li Hua from Team Misty Rain.
Wei Chen: Thank you! Thank you, everyone, for all your wishes and support towards me.
Huang Shaotian: Boss Wei, please keep your shamelessness in check. Are you sure those cheers are for you? Take a closer look. See, those are obviously banners for Blue Rain!
Blue Rain Fans: Blue Rain, Blue Rain is the best! Blue Rain, Blue Rain beats the rest!
Wei Chen: Hah. It even rhymes.
Pan Lin: Ok, everyone is prepared and ready to go. And the referee raises his gun.
(Cheers)
Pan Lin: And with a bang, Huang Shaotian is the first to head off, as expected of the best opportunist of the Alliance!
Li Yibo: Right on his heels is Wu Yuce. Ah! And Wu Yuce has overtaken Huang Shaotian! He is fast!
Pan Lin: But Huang Shaotian is not giving up. He is speeding up, and it seems… That he’s shouting something?
Huang Shaotian: Fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you! Look, here’s my triple slash speed boost! AHHHH!
Li Yibo: Huang Shaotian sure is energetic...
Pan Lin: Ah, Li Hua is also close behind! And Misty Rain’s female fans are screaming their hearts out!
Li Yibo: Over at the finishing point, Dai Yanqi is waving her arms wildly, cheering for her team captain, Xiao Shiqin. Such touching team spirit!
Dai Yanqi: Good luck, Captain! All the best! Captain is the coolest! (squeals)
Pan Lin: And so, Wei Chen is the last of them! He’s quite a distance from the finishing line, it’ll be quite hard to catch up.
Li Yibo: Well, it does seem like this level of activity is somewhat taxing for the old guard.
Pan Lin: Yeah.
Wei Chen: (sounds of panting and slow steps)
Pan Lin: As Wei Chen gets slower and slower, Wu Yuce becomes the first to cross the finishing line! That’s truly rare athleticism for a professional gamer!
 (Wei Chen stops, panting)
Wei Chen: (gasping)
Ye Xiu: Say, can you still go on?
Wei Chen: Old… Old me… Is… Is just… Just...
Ye Xiu: I understand, I understand. This elderly one is proving a point~ Shall I call an ambulance for you?
Wei Chen: … Fuck off...!
Li Yibo: Next up, the 2nd heats of Men’s 200m is about to start. In the order of their respective lanes are: Wang Jiexi of Team Tiny Herb, Zhang Jiale from Team Tyranny, Zhou Zekai from Team Samsara, Yang Cong from Team 301, and Zou Yuan from Team Hundred Blossoms.
Zhang Xinjie: You’re up, Senior Zhang Jiale.
Lin Jingyan: All the best! We believe in you.
Zhang Jiale: No sweat. 200m is nothing.
Ye Xiu: Good luck, Le Le. Aim for number 2~
Zhang Jiale: (shows the middle finger) Fuck you!
Jiang Botao: Captain, do your best too.
Zhou Zekai: Mm!
Ye Xiu: Xiao Zhou looks like the kind who exercises regularly.
Zhou Zekai: Yes. Every day 20.
Ye Xiu: 20?
Zhou Zekai: 500m, 20 rounds.
Ye Xiu: …(awkward cough) Erm, go on quickly, the referee’s calling for you.
Pan Lin: Great, everyone’s now in their respective lanes.
(Gunshot)
Li Yibo: And the race starts! Zhou Zekai is staying put in the lead position and behind him are Zhang Jiale, Zou Yuan, Wang Jiexi, and Yang Cong.
Huang Shaotian: The hell? Does Zhou Zekai intend to run all the way with this speed? Good looks, great gaming skills, and this good at running? Heaven is being absurdly unfair!
Ye Xiu: Uh-huh, it’s quite unfair.
Huang Shaotian: You think so too, right?
Ye Xiu: Why are his conversation skill points all given to you?
Huang Shaotian: … You asshole!
Pan Lin: There’s 50m left! 30m! And Zhou Zekai has started sprinting! He’s sprinting!
Li Yibo: Awesome! Zhou Zekai leads all the way and is the first to cross the finishing line! That was superb!
Pan Lin: Zhang Jiale also meets everyone’s expectations, doing a good job of taking the number 2 spot. Ah, he’s pointing his... Middle finger at me, expressing his current, erm, enthusiastic feelings...
Ye Xiu: Take it easy, Old Sun.
Sun Zheping: Thanks.
(Ye Xiu turns, almost bumping into incoming Zhang Jiale)
Ye Xiu: Whoa! Hey, aren’t you too eager to see Old Sun? After all, Zhang Xinjie’s also in this round. You should put on your professional best to support your team, Tyranny.
Zhang Jiale: (gasping) Pah! As if you have any right to criticize me. Who’s the one that’s been going around all morning, putting a wedge among the rivals in competition?
(Zhang Jiale turns to wave at Sun Zheping)
Zhang Jiale: Do your best, Big Sun!
(A sudden burst of fangirls screaming among the spectators)
Fangirls: Zhang Jiale! Sun Zheping! One million years of Blossom and Blood! One~ Million~ Years~ [Blossom and Blood: their famous combo move]
Zhang Jiale: (shocked) What the hell… What is this!?
Ye Xiu: Just focus on watching the game...
(Zhang Jiale drinks water)
Zhang Jiale: (swallows) Sigh, I can’t tell what Sun Zheping is thinking. He usually doesn’t exercise. It’s a miracle if he even bothers to sweep the floor…. Hey, don’t spread this around. I’m screwed if he finds out I’ve been complaining behind his back.
Ye Xiu: No problem~
(Ye Xiu turns his head to shout)
Ye Xiu: Dear friends from Heavenly Sword! I’ve heard that Old Sun doesn’t even sweep his own floor! Send my heartfelt regards to your cleaning lady!
(Zhang Jiale spits out his drink)
Zhang Jiale: (coughs) Fuck, do you want to die? Don’t run!
Ye Xiu: I am off~
(Ye Xiu runs off)
Zhang Jiale: (shouts) Just you wait, Old Ye! I will get my revenge someday!
 (At Samsara)
Du Ming: This looks nice. This one’s also good. So hard to choose...
Lu Boyuan: Du Ming! What are you doing, acting so suspiciously?
Du Ming: Ah?! No...nothing in particular!
(Phone is snatched)
Du Ming: Hey! Give it back!
Lu Boyuan: Yo! Pretty lady Tang Rou huh~ Not a bad photo.
(Jiang Botao walks over)
Jiang Botao: Tang Rou?
Du Ming: Um.. Taken just… Just now during the Women’s 200m race.
(Swipes the phone)
Jiang Botao: Well, this one looks nice.
Du Ming: Thank you, Vice Captain.
Jiang Botao: What is it for?
Lu Boyuan: Need you ask? For his handphone wallpaper, of course~
Du Ming: Go away!
Li Yibo: The morning matches have all ended. We will continue in the afternoon at 1.30pm. Have a good break, and we’ll see you again in the afternoon!
Li Yibo: Hello everyone, good afternoon! I am Li Yibo.
Pan Lin: And I am Pan Lin.
Li Yibo: Welcome back to the live of the first ever Glory Sports Meets. You probably still can’t get enough of the exciting matches from this morning. Worry not, as there’s more to come!
Pan Lin: First up is the finals for Men’s Long Jump. In this match, we have our famed Glory Textbook, God Ye Xiu! A rare sighting indeed!
Li Yibo: That’s right! What else could be more exciting than that?
(Behind the scenes)
Ye Xiu: Say… Is it too late for me to back out...?
Chen Guo: Too late! Go, go!
Su Mucheng: Do your best~
Steam Bun: Good luck, Boss! Good luck!
(Ye Xiu is pushed out)
(Crowd cheering)
Pan Lin: Oh? Speak of the devil! Team Happy’s Captain, Ye Xiu, has just appeared on the pit.
Li Yibo: God Ye Xiu immediately strikes up a conversation with Sun Xiang who is also competing in this category.
Pan Lin: The two of them have a somewhat delicate relation in the Pro-Alliance. I can’t help but wonder what they might talk about before the match.
Li Yibo: Now that you’ve mentioned it, I’m curious too!
(Ye Xiu walks over)
Ye Xiu: Comrade Sun Xiang looks spirited. But are you prepared to admit your loss to this awesomeness in front of you?
Sun XIang: You…!
Jiang Botao: Sun Xiang, it’s your turn!
(Crowd cheering)
Sun Xiang: Hnn!
(Sun Xiang left)
Ye Xiu: Ah, that kid’s still as impulsive as ever.
(Sun Xiang aims)
Sun Xiang: Hng!
(Sun Xiang jumps)
Pan Lin: Sun Xiang’s record is a little unexpected… But to be able to jump 2.5m, it’s already not bad for a professional gamer, right? Yibo?
Li Yibo: Haha! That’s right. After Sun Xiang, we’ve now come to Ye Xiu’s turn. Fans here are pretty worked up right now! Ah, someone just threw a water bottle from Tyranny’s side.
(Cheers and Boos)
Ye Xiu: Fans are way too passionate. Oh well, with my overwhelming popularity, that can’t be helped.
(Ye Xiu walks over)
Pan Lin: God Ye Xiu is getting ready to jump! What will his result be? Let‘s keep our eyes peeled!
Ye Xiu: 1, 2, 3… Hey ho!
(Ye Xiu jumps and lands)
(Crowd boos)
Pan Lin: (awkward).....Erm… Ah…. This is a friendly match after all, nobody is a professional athlete. 1.9m is already quite good...
Li Yibo: Yes, yes… Ye Xiu is probably much better performing in Glory. Erm…. Moving on to the next match!
(Behind the scenes of Team Happy)
Wei Chen: My back is about to break!
Ye Xiu: Don’t say anymore. I have a headache – it’s as if I’ve listened Huang Shaotian perform a crosstalk…. For that team captain friendly something-or-other match later, can I pretend I’m dead?
(Chen Guo jumps up and slaps Ye Xiu’s back)
Chen Guo: Of course not!
Ye Xiu: Oooh ouch ouch pain pain pain!
Chen Guo: Other teams have gotten quite a few champions! We have nothing except for Steam Bun’s win at discus throwing!
Ye Xiu: Sis, it’s just a friendly match…. Surely you don’t have to be so serious?
Chen Guo: Even if it’s a friendly match!
Wei Chen: Girl, you’re getting desperate...
Chen Guo: Shut up!
Pan Lin: Everyone! We are now at the most exciting part of the day! The final match of this Sports Meet, the Three-Legged 200m Run!
Li Yibo: This is a friendly match where all the team captains participate together in groups of two. Each group is decided by random draw. Isn’t it exciting? Aren’t you looking forward to it?
(Crowd cheers and screams)
Li Yibo: Let us take a look at the final outcome of the draw.
Pan Lin: Okay.
Li Yibo: Blue Rain’s Yu Wenzhou with Samsara’s Zhou Zekai; Void’s Li Xuan with Hundred Blossom’s Yu Feng.
Pan Lin: Tiny Herb’s Wang Jiexi and Excellent Era’s Qiu Fei….. Oh? Who’d have thought, who’d have thought!? Team Happy’s Ye Xiu and Tyranny drew the same lot! Hahahahaha! This must be destiny!
(behind the scenes)
Ye Xiu: Are they trying to make a joke out of me?
Fang Rui: My, my! What a rare matchup! O’ Great Ye Xiu is lucky today!
Tang Rou: Do your best, I favour you two.
Wei Chen: (claps Ye Xiu’s shoulder) I truly admire the close relationship you two share.
Qiao Yifan: Captain, be careful not to trip.
An Wenyi: Captain, you… are really my idol.
Luo Ji: Captain, we’ll all be cheering for you!
Su Mucheng: I needn’t say anything. You know~
Mo Fan: Er… Good luck.
Chen Guo: (claps Ye Xiu’s shoulder) Get a hold of yourself! See, even Mo Fan is cheering for you. Do a good job and don’t tarnish Happy’s reputation!
Ye Xiu: You all definitely planned this together...
(Tyranny’s F4 comes over)
Zhang Jiale: Hahahaha! Serves you right! Karma’s a bitch!
Zhang Xinjie: (serious) All the best. I believe in the unspoken understanding between Captain and Senior Ye Xiu.
Lin Jingyan: (gleefully fanning fires) Haha! Me too!
(elbows Han Wenqing)
Ye Xiu: Wipe off that suffering look, Old Han. Do you think I’m happy? This is the fault of the ballot...
Han Wenqing: Don’t drag me down.
Ye Xiu: Che. That’s my line. Don’t you dare trip in the middle of it. Many pairs of eyes will be staring hard at you.
Han Wenqing: Same to you.
Steam Bun: Boss, you can definitely do it!
Fang Rui: Good luck, good luck~
Steam Bun: Good luck, Boss!
(Crowd cheers)
Tyranny Fans: Tyranny! All the best! Tyranny! All the best!
Happy Fans: Go Happy, go! Go Happy, go!
Su Mucheng: What’s there to fight about when those two are already tied together… Do the fans still want them to fight each other while tied up?
Wei Chen: Must be a sin...
Huang Shaotian: Captain good luck good luck good luck! Zhou Zekai, don’t you dare drag our Captain down!
Sun Xiang: For all you know, it’s the other way round.
Huang Shaotian: What about it? You looking for a fight? Tonight 8pm PK in the arena! Whoever doesn’t turn up is a scaredy cat!
Sun Xiang: Fine! What’s there to be afraid of?
Ye Xiu: It’s real lively, huh.  Say, Old Han, let’s start with the tied legs first. Look at Xiao Shiqin and Yunxiu discussing, (leans over to whisper) I’ve heard all their tactics.
Han Wenqing: So did I.
Ye Xiu: Bravo, Old Han. Never knew that your heart’s pretty black too.
Han Wenqing: Hn, not as black as yours.
Ye Xiu: Hah.
Li Yibo: All the groups have been announced and the team captain’s legs are all tied together. Everyone’s ready to go.
Pan Lin: I’m sure all the fans with us are as excited as we are. Let’s cut the chatter. An amazing race is about to start!
Ye Xiu: (whisper) It’s this leg.
Han Wenqing: Shut up.
(Gunshot, Crowd cheers)
Fans: Go! Go!
Pan Lin: This three-legged match demands synchronisation from both partners. And as everyone knows, all the captains are opponents.
Li Yibo: That’s right. Will they be able to overcome their enmity in such a short time and become friends?
Yu Feng: (impatient) Li Xuan, is the rope a little loose? Why do I feel like my legs are getting lighter?
Li Xuan: (panting) That’s because my leg isn’t even reaching the ground okay!?
Qui Fei: (cautiously polite) Senior Wang Jiexi, aren’t we being… a bit too cautious? We have only moved four steps...
Yu Wenzhou: Wait a moment, Cap’n Zhou, hold on! You’re going too fast, I can barely keep up… Ah… now it seems too slow...
Chu Yunxiu: (testily) Darn you, Xiao Shiqin, run slower! Mind the pace, the pace! Counting 1, 2… That’s not 1! 1 is the right leg! Right! You are using your left!
Xiao Shiqin: Sis, my left leg is your right leg!
(Fans cheering)
Li Yibo: Looks like this particular competition is of some difficulty for these long-time rivals.
Pan Lin: But the most unbelievable thing is Ye Xiu and Han Wenqing, who are in the lead right now! And they’re ahead of the current number 2, Yu Feng and Li Xuan, by almost 50m!
Li Yibo: That’s right! Speaking of which, they’re both nearing the finishing line!
Li Yibo: Go for it!
Pan Lin: They’ve passed it! That’s simply incredible! The number 1s are actually Tyranny’s Han Wenqing and Happy’s Ye Xiu, who’ve been bitter rivals for 10 years! Have they just proven that “your enemy knows you best”? This is crazy! The fans of Tyranny and Happy are also ecstatic! They’re waving the team flags enthusiastically!
Tyranny fans: Tyranny! Champion! Tyranny! Champion!
Happy fans: Happy! Champion! Happy! Champion!
(Ye Xiu bends to untie the rope)
Ye Xiu: Damn it....
Han Wenqing: (impatient) What’s taking you so long?
Ye Xiu: Fuck… Who was the one who tied the rope on us!? It’s a dead knot!
Chairman Feng: To all the participants, referees, and people involved in this event. After a long day of intense matches, we’ve come to the end of the first ever Glory Alliance Sports Meet. Each exciting moment shall be a part of our memorable journey with Glory. Regardless of winning or losing, glory is forever in our hearts. Among all the blessings we’ve received, to be able to stand here together is our greatest blessing….
(below the stage, everyone is whispering/chatting)
Su Mucheng: Hahaha~
Cheng Guo: What’s so funny, Mu Mu?
Su Mucheng: Guo Guo, see this. Pictures of Old Ye and Old Han tied together are being spread all over Weibo by fans.
Tang Rou: That looks like the Alliance’s Weibo interaction with the fans, doesn’t it?
Fang Rui: Let me see! Let me see! Oh~ The photo’s pretty good.
Wei Chen: Hey, hey, this angle is a bit too….
Steam Bun: Woah, it’s trending like crazy! Boss, you’re a super hot topic~
Huang Shaotian: What is it? What is it? I want to see too, I want to see! Let me see! Damn it, Su Mucheng! Don’t you switch it off! Hey!
(ruckus)
Ye Xiu: Eh, Old Han. Maybe we should take a selfie of ourselves and post it up.
Han Wenqing: (black face) Go away!
Chairman Feng: …..and friends, thank you everyone for your eager participation in the Glory Alliance Sports Meet. Next year we shall continue to do our best!
Huang Shaotian: Geez! It’s finally over~ Seriously, the Alliance organising such a stupid sports event. Pah! Zhou Zekai you bugger! Getting three golds for Men’s 200m, 1000m and high jump alone! Where’s the fairness in that? And that Wu Yuce, so what if he has long legs? What’s so great about that? And that Yu Feng! And that, that Bao something! I protest! The Alliance should seriously consider banning these buggy people from competing! Oh~ Right, right~ Old Ye and Old Han’s photo broke a million views! That’s definitely a headline for the next Gaming Weekly Magazine! It totally proves that what goes around comes around~ Heaven has eyes and you can’t hide~ Hahahahahaha!!!
Ye Xiu: What is Shaotian muttering to himself over there?
Han Wenqing: His skin itches [for a good thrashing.]
 [END]
P.s, If you liked this, do check out another fan radio drama, 全职高手之全员闹微博配音剧 (TKA: Chaos on Weibo). Because that’s another awesome production!
And if you need a translated transcript for that (shameless plugging =P):

Video
youtube
Here’s another one! (b/c I got no original content/talent to contribute to the fandom LOL OTL)
Quan Zhi Gao Shou fan cover/Chinese adaption of Rain of Mind by Shuuhei Kita.
[半道英雄] means Hero who is halfway there. This song is just so nice/cute haha. Though, unlike the previous one, the video’s definitely MAJOR SPOILER ALERT. Because these are ppl drawn at their end-game teams. yeah. (rip me when I found this) For fun translation under cut of a comment on the video that points out the little easter eggs--song is not translated (I don’t got the fluency for that). Spoiler so bad. Last warning.
Translations tell me this is 無罪之罪’s art. I need to find this person’s art blog, not even kidding. Seriously the art for this is amazing???
Commenter 姚德暉 pointed out that if you look closely you can see tiny details in the characters that help identify them. Considering the fact that like 60% of these ppl haven’t even been introduced yet at the current novel translations, you’ll be lost if you haven’t been spoiled by say, the Wikia (rip me), or already finished the Chinese vers.
In order of appearance (not a word for word translation--I’ve added and deleted some stuff):
Ye Xiu (Excellent Era): smoking, the card
Wang Jiexi (Tiny Herb): unsymmetrical eyes (right is bigger)
Yu Wenzhou (Blue Rain): N/A
Han Wenqing (Tyranny): that fierce facial expression tho (somehow notable to commenter)
Zhou Zekai (Samsara): N/A
Jiang Botao (Samsara): N/A
Fang Minghua (Samsara): ring on right hand (I assume this is relevant later somehow? Don’t tell me.)
Sun Xiang (Samsara): 3 fingers (idk? maybe indicates 3 teams)
Du Ming (Samsara): love letter
Li Xuan (Void | right): N/A
Yu Yuce (Void | left): his character Carved Ghost is a girl
Zhang Xinjie (Tyranny): jacket zipper pulled to the top, his watch
Lin Jingyan (Tyranny): glasses (idk? most fanart of him, he’s got glasses), gentle/elegant appearance (??? notable to commenter for some reason)
Song Qiying (Tyranny): N/A
Zhang Jiale (Tyranny | right): 1 finger (idk? is this notable? could indicate previous team, could be his goal to be champ), red rose tattoo (previous Hundred Blossoms)
Sun Zheping (Heavenly Sword | left): hand injury (right), red butterfly tattoo (previous Happy)
Lou Guanning (Heavenly Sword): glass of wine (indicating wealth)
Wen Kebei (Heavenly Sword): N/A
Xiao Shiqin (Thunderclap): chess pieces (one of the "Four Master Tacticians"), glasses
Chu Yunxiu (Misty Rain): her character Windy Rain is a guy
Ye Xiu (Happy): smoking, blue butterfly, only one whose in-game character Lord Grim looks different than the player--he’s likely modeled after Su Muqiu
Huang Shaotian (Blue Rain): N/A
Zheng Xuan (Blue Rain): biting something (commenter unsure if this counts or is relevant)
Song Xiao (Blue Rain): N/A
Lu Hanwen (Blue Rain): also biting candy, tho in this case it’s probably just to indicate his young age, along with the bunny hair tie
Liu Xiaobie (Tiny Herb): earphones (apparently relevant later)
Gao Yingjie (Tiny Herb): N/A
Yuan Baiqing (Tiny Herb): N/A
Xu Bin (Tiny Herb): N/A
Dai Yanqi (Thunderclap): N/A
Fang Xuecai (Thunderclap): N/A
Shu Kexin (Misty Rain): N/A
Shu Keyi (Misty Rain): N/A
Li Hua (Misty Rain): N/A
Yang Cong (301 Degrees): N/A
Bai Shu (301 Degrees): luggage (previously from England)
Yu Feng (Hundred Blossoms): flowers
Zou Yuan (Hundred Blossoms): flowers
Qiu Fei (New Excellent Era): N/A
Zhao Yuzhe (Wind Howl): N/A
Tang Hao (Wind Howl): N/A
Tang Rou (Happy | left): 3 fingers up (一挑三: 1v3 is strongly associated with Tang Rou in the Chinese fandom, probably relevant later)
Su Mucheng (Happy | middle): N/A
Chen Guo (Happy | right): blue butterfly, idk why flowers tho (maybe relevant later?)
Mo Fan (Happy | far left): hood
An Wenyi (Happy | mid left): N/A
Qiao Yifan (Happy | mid right): cup/water
Wei Chen (Happy | far right): smoking, thin mustache (lookie how old the guy is haha)
Luo Ji (Happy | left): books, pens, fancy vest (student)
Fang Rui (Happy | middle): N/A
Bao Rongxing (Happy | right): everything XD--long blond hair, tattoos, happy smile
Ye Xiu (final shot): still smoking (LOL), blue butterfly, championship trophy
Su Muqiu (no team): umbrella, back (indicates passing)
(Holy shit what a big cast...)
You’ll notice that in addition to the team uniforms:
the Samsara ppl all have the same tooth necklace (except Sun Xiang)
the Void Ghostblade duo share a ring necklace
Zhang Jiale and Sun Zheping are together because both are from Hundred Blossoms
Heavenly Sword ppl all wear loose yellow ties
Tiny Herb all wear a beret except for Wang Jiexi, who has a fancy top hat--probably indicates he’s the most notable
Samsara, Blue Rain, and Tiny Herb are the only teams with special backgrounds (maybe Tyranny)
Can I just say I really, really love the in-game character designs? Even though they’re really different from the official one, the designs are all on point, esp Lord Grim--I’m kinda unsatisfied with Lord Grim’s appearance in the animation because he should be colorful, at least, if the animators don’t want to do mismatched equipment--his colors are so dull when they’re supposed to be so colorful it hurts the eyes (刺眼).
