Ok so here's the run down since I'm too lazy to ever draw everything out :U

goin off this comic

⬇️and down here cause I ramble too much 🙄⤵️

Ok so first the next few pages I had sketched out

Ok so things to note:

• trunks is sad and like very much thinkin bout gohan and his death.

• bulma has the control device thing for brolys headband, but can't figure out how to make it work

• this thing is basically a ki battery. And what imma ramble about.. The whole sub plot here being that 1 of the big drawbacks in the future is theres just not enough power for bulma to accomplish much. Ki as an energy source should work but it doesn't interact well w earths tech, its nearly impossible to store, and even when stored it doesn't then 'power up' in a predictable/usable way like electricity.

(As a side note I stopped at this page cause I kept wanting to redesign it to have 7 obvious apatures or idk something to coincide w the 7 Chakras cause like brolys jewelry stuff also has 7 gems. But. I did none of that :U )

So anyway we see in dbz that non-earthlings have tech that utilizes ki, and paragus' control device for broly obviously uses ki, but while this battery that her and gohan were able to sorta get to work can store ki, they never found a method for converting or using it. But now it can be used and the control device gives her something to reverse engineer from, which is 1 of the reasons for wanting broly around despite him being.. the way he is.

SO ANYWAYS

This was another panel I intended to use once 17 starts attacking broly, who at this point is still very zonked out and not reacting.

So. From trunks pov. Hes already A. thinkin bout what happened w gohan and B. primed to see 'saiyans' as good guys or heros or whatever. Even if hes heard every story about saiyans as a race being bad, hes grown up hearing about goku, seeing gohan, and yknow no ones really talkin too much heavy shit about his dead dad- and his mom loved him so like he was probably good too.. right??

Lol dumbass kid.

So yeah my poor dumb stupid baby boy here is gonna jump into a fight that he does not needta be involved in to protect someone who does not need his help and won't be grateful :D cause ⭐ Le Trauma ⭐

Meanwhile, bulmas testing out her new theory(s) about the control device A. being built to send out some kinda signal and B. Being powered by ki. She's got it set up to expand the reach of that signal so she can pick up that it is reaching something without using too much power and without necessarily alerting whatever its reaching. But broly was already in a weird spot w the headbands control so this lil ping along w everything else goin on is what like awakens him to the fight or whatever. As you can see I'm not a writer.

Big cool epic no holds fight scene that im not drawing starts up. Broly terrorizes the androids but also attacks trunks cause like tf does he care? He's havin fun :>

Bulma realizes how late for dinner she is, decides not to waste the energy in the battery since its all they have of it (also she doesn't wanna admit it but she knows its like the last thing they have of gohan) and now that she knows it won't blow up she can just ask trunks to help her run more tests on the control device later. Then she realizes her kids not home any more and 3 guesses where he went :U she planning on goin out after him guns blazing, realizes she has no idea where he actually is, YadaYada, if she increases the power and range, she can pin point what this devices signal is bouncing off of and thats probably where this new alien and therefore her kid are.

By this point in the fight the androids are aware this is not goin their way, and trunks, poor dumb baby that he is, has finally managed to draw his stupid sword thats way too big for him rn. This creates an opportunity for the androids to get tf outta dodge cause see. Here's the bit. Broly was stabbed by trunks grandad as a baby. So seeing someone pointing a big knife at his probably gets his undivided attention :D anyway, luckily bulma uses the last of gohans ki from the battery thing to send out another stronger signal that zonks broly right tf back out before he can kill trunks. He runs and meets his mom on her way to save him and uh.. yeah, they go home. Soooo gohan saved trunks again even after he's dead :U im sure that'll be fine. Maybe they have a sad fight about it, idk.

Anyway. Middle middle middle.

Paragus used broly for his power to fight his battles for him, so I dont see how this situation w the androids looks very different to broly. They have the control device for their own safety sure, but I mean that was paragus's reason at first too

Then too, broly doesn't know or really care to know how to actually apply any self control w his powers so ya kinda don't want him 'helping' destroy anything- dudes just gonna nuke the planet as collateral damage and move on.

So yeah, more middle middle middle and he's training trunks to fight and trunks is tryin to get him to learn basic self control and like.. morals. And uh theyre friends or whatever. Idk man I just wanted to draw them hanging out and hadta do a convoluted back story about it that I then never actually did :D

A Long Road Home - Page 47 Author Notes

Page 47

The script originally called for Laudna to be braiding Imogen’s hair in the background of the last panel but I took it out because that’s apparently not a skill that Laudna has and also I wanted to finally make it clear that Imogen does actually live in the attic. But then I could not be stopped from putting Laudna’s own hair in braids, haha. The side braid with the white forelock strand (which she was introduced with even) is just too cute. Also Imogen’s hair being braided during her illness was probably what saved it from being cut for being too hot or a snarly mess so . . . idk somehow retaining her memories of Imogen in Darkstone caused Laudna to remember how to do a braid in this AU.

Additionally, in the second panel they were just going to be sitting there in companionable silence while Laudna writes in her notebook and Imogen looks out the window but a discussion on Discord last week about how exhausted Laudna must be inspired me to change it. Now she’s zonked out while apparently in the middle of reading aloud, finally able to let herself rest now that Imogen is well.

I have a little ficlet outlined set during this page about Laudna surreptitiously surviving on stolen kitchen scraps because she doesn’t want to impose on Relvin (who probably at least tried to offer her food at some point but she declined and now he’s waiting to see if she actually needs it and confirm whether she’s alive or not but by now it’s been a week or longer and it’s WAY too awkward to speak up about it now). Noticing that she’s acting weird, Imogen is at first concerned that she’s contracted scarlet fever from her but after pushing into her thoughts she realizes she’s actually just starving and goes to yell at her dad (and bring her some soup).

I like it but it doesn’t quite align with the rest of the comic canon because (mild spoilers) a large part of the second chapter involves them trying to survive winter in the mountain wilderness after being driven away from their home, and there’s a whole subplot with Laudna reassuring Imogen that it doesn’t take much food or warmth to sustain her dead self (so please take it I insist) and Imogen not realizing that this is less true than she’s telling her until she finds memories of being cold and hungry in her thoughts. So that realization wouldn’t make sense if she’d already eavesdropped on her mind and found her hungry.

We found him at a yard sale?? The seller told us that her dad had made him by hand as well as others for all the kids in the family. I can’t imagine wanting to sell such a treasure but that’s how he came to be here. He gets dressed up for the holidays.

(Now, the real question is, does this mean Chetney has been to Gelvaan?)

Imagine being sensitive (like me) and crying every time someone yells at you whether you're angry or not. Imagine then getting into a fight with Din. He had shown patience until recently. Things have gotten a lot more stressful with the child and something big was coming. You still thought you should be able to have some relaxing time so while he was out fighting bad guys somewhere you took the child to a hot springs to chill for a little bit. You had your training and your blaster if anything were to happen but nothing did. You came back to the Razor Crest to find Din fuming and pacing the ship. "Where the fuck were you" he was already raising his voice but not enough to hurt you. You just got annoyed "I took Grogu to a hot springs. It's not that big of a deal, nothing happened" This must of struck a cord because he was almost screaming at that point "Not a big deal???? Are you stupid??? Do you know how many people are after Grogu? Seriously I expected better from you! What's wrong with you risking his life like that!" The words hit you hard as you shrunk away from him tears pricking your eyes "So what. We can't relax anymore?" your voice was shakey and you glared at him despite the tears starting to go down your face "I can take care of myself but if you really don't care that much then maybe you should take him with you. It's clear to me now that Im nothing but a babysitter and I need to stay in my place huh?" you turn around and walk away to find somewhere small you can hide away in.

By the time you're off hidden in Din and your shared bunk Din's still up in the cockpit fuming. He's gonna eventually calm down give or take 30 minutes and shuffle off to try and find middle ground with you. He knows you're sensitive already so he's prepared for some type of repercussion from you. What he wasn't expecting was to hear soft sobs and hiccups coming from the shut bunk panel. The kids been zonked out since you two have arrived home, exhausted from his fun adventure. The panel slides open and he immediately sees your form stiffen up underneath his old cape you use as a blanket. He's gonna hesitantly sit on the edge of the cot as he places a warm, gloveless hand on your ankle, instantly rubbing his thumb over the thinner skin. He's not going to apologize at first. He just can't get the words out so he's gonna give your calf a squeeze in a silent question of if he can come into your space. Once he sees you lift the blanket partially up he knows that's his cue he's invited to slither in-between your legs and arms. He's gonna stop to press kisses where there are streaks where tears dripped down your face. And finally, finally he's going to quietly whisper his sorrys to you, begging for your forgiveness as his voice cracks in the safety of your shared dark bunk.

“Mmm,” Han heard Luke moan softly from back in the captain’s quarters. “Oh, Han.”

Han paused, looking at Chewie beside him. Wasn’t the kid sleeping?

“You heard that, too, right?” he asked warily. The Wookie nodded, seeming just as confused as his counterpart. Han drifted his gaze to the doorway of the cockpit, leaning in an ear in hopes of hearing better.

“Oh, Han,” he heard Luke repeat. “Yeah, right there.”

Han once again looked at Chewie in confusion.

“You think he’s dreamin’?” Han guessed, really hoping that was the case. Chewie shrugged, then motioned for Han to go investigate. Han shrugged himself, then slapped his hands on his knees.

“Well, one way to find out.” Han rose and gave Chewie a wary look.

“I’d...stay here, pal,” he warned. “I don’t know what’s goin’ on back there.” Chewie grunted an affirmation, then turned back to the ship’s panel.

With that, Han headed back towards the captain’s quarters. Upon arrival, he, thankfully, found Luke zonked out, sprawled out on the bed. Han couldn’t help but pause and watch his lover sleep for a moment, taking in the gentle rise and fall of his chest, the way his mouth fell open slightly, and the faintest little snore escaping his lips. Stars, he could just eat Luke up.

“Oh, Han,” Luke moaned again. “Yes, yes, yes.”

Han chuckled softly, now understanding the situation. He ever so carefully took a seat at the end of the bed, partially wanting to wake Luke and participate in whatever fantasy was playing out, but partly just wanted to take in his beauty.

“Mmm, right there,” Luke said in a breathy voice as he rocked his hips back and forth.

“Right there?” Han answered mischievously, playing into the game.

“Mhmm,” Luke drew out. “That’s perfect.”

“You like that, baby?” Han purred, a grin teasing the corners of his lips.

“Yes,” Luke whined. Han chuckled lightly to himself again, feeling like he could sit here all day and toy with his lover.

“Yeah? You want more?” Han asked seductively. Luke whined hard.

“Yes!” With another soft chuckle, figuring it was probably time to stop trifling with his lover, Han set a gentle hand on Luke’s calf.

Still possessing the title of “lightest sleeper in the galaxy,” the kid jolted his leg back and snapped his eyes open. With the most endearingly confused look on his face, Luke rubbed his eyes and looked around the room until his gaze landed on Han. He visibly jumped at seeing him, and his cheeks immediately flushed a deep crimson as Han chuckled.

“Havin’ fun?” Luke bowed his head.

“Was I talking?” he asked, defeated as he most likely already knew the answer. Han laughed.

“A little more than just talkin’, Han told his lover. Luke fell back onto the bunk, looking like he wanted to disappear into the mattress.

“Kriff,” he whispered, making Han laugh again. A steaming hot thought in his mind, Han leaned forward and moved on top of Luke. He hovered over him, a smirk on face.

“But if you weren’t talkin’, how would I know what to do with you?” Luke’s cheeks reddened a shade darker, but a tentative smile turned up his lips.

“You mean-?”

“Mhm,” Han confirmed. “If you’re into it.” He leaned down and gave his lover a tentative kiss, asking for permission. Luke hung an arm around the back of Han’s neck, pulling him in closer.

“Absolutely,” he confirmed. Han gave Luke his trademark smirk, winking at him.

“Well then we better get busy, huh?” Luke graced his lover with a giggle.

“I think we should.”

Got diagnosed with narcolepsy and now I'm thinking of falling asleep while working on random parts of the razor crest and just zonking out halfway hanging into an electrical panel lol. But then din finds me and pulls me out carries me to bed and drapes a blanket over me <3 bonus points if grogu comes in for a cuddle and naps with me

Room to Grow in a Colorful Boy’s Bedroom

We’re on a roll updating the farmhouse and today I’m so excited to post photos of Felix’s room! While most of my decorating preferences lean towards neutrals, I just love color in kids’ rooms. I incorporated many of the items from Felix’s bright nursery (first here and updated here) from our old house but went bold with colorful walls, ceiling and door. Come on in and lemme show you around!

PAINT

Is it sacrilegious to use paint chips from one company and have them matched elsewhere? If so I’m going to decorating hell because that’s exactly what I did in this room. The pale blue walls are ‘Poolside’ from Benjamin Moore, but filled at Lowe’s using Valspar Signature in a matte finish. Ditto goes for the ceiling (China Blue) and darker walls (Blueberry). I’ve used a couple of brands of paint in the past month and I think the middle range paints are very comparable. But if you want the Cadillac of paint, Aura from Benjamin Moore is really superior (I used it on his door in Yosimite Blue and a satin finish) and the coverage and final look are incredible. It’s pricey and I only bought a quart, but it was worth it.

NOTE: I've edited these photos to reflect the paint colors I see in real life, but all screens will display them differently. I absolutely recommend taking home paint swatches before committing to a full gallon!

BED

As you can see, we’ve upgraded to a full sized bed, but we’ve actually had it for a while now. Adam did a ton of research and based on his findings, we bought a Casper mattress (not sponsored, but you can get $75 off if you use my promo code). We also have a foam mattress in our room and I think Felix’s is better. In fact, both parents regularly zonk out in there when we put him to bed and because it doesn’t have springs, it’s easier to Houdini out once he’s off in dreamland.

Behind it, check out that amazing Jenny Lind headboard. Errr... footboard! I bought it last weekend at this amazing garage sale for... $4.50. The real headboard was falling apart so I asked if I could just take this end. I cleaned it and then painted it using Valspar Signature in Lovely Love Song with a satin finish. I SHOULD HAVE PRIMED IT because it took about five coats. I wanted to apply them thinly as to not get brush strokes (which are still kinda there) but I also came away from it thinking... I found this, I updated this, this is not a factory finish, and I’m ok with that.

The sheets and quilt are what inspired the painting pallet at the start of this project. Big thanks to my mom who generously bought them for us! We chose the Pillowfort whale watching sheets, a navy bed skirt and a two toned navy quilt (it photographs more colbalt, but it’s a true navy IRL). Again, not sponsored but the quality of the quilt (which has been through the wash three times already) is really lovely and it would be great in an adult’s room too. The two other navy shams were from our linen closet. The rainbow pillow was from our previous nursery, the yellow one came with the Monte rocker and the teddy bear was a gift.

DESK

We found this little wooden desk in the garage and it was made by the original owner of the house! I brought it back to life with a coat of butcher’s block wax and I think it’s perfect for a child’s room! It serves the dual purpose of being a bedside table as well. The lamp was either a garage or Goodwill find that’s been in the nursery all along. I covered the shade for Bea Bea’s nursery (which, sorry, I never got good photos of!) in the wide yellow stripe. The ABC print was also in her nursery and I updated it with a little washi tape. I also updated the chair. You might remember it from my Instastories a while back. I found a set of four and at the time we were considering furnishing the old house as an Air BnB rental. These were going to be the dining room chairs. Now that we’re set to close on that house, I had them here for a project. I spray painted it a bright yellow, which took about 4-5 coats to get in all of the nooks and cranies. I’m glad I did though! It’s a nice pop next to the wooden desk. The map print trashcan is a second hand vintage find from years ago.

THE ROCKER

Babies love being rocked to sleep and I have nursed both of my kids hundreds of times in this rocking chair. I bought it before I had a million other things to spend money on, and truth be told, it’s pricey. I justified it by thinking it would be a nice addition to any room in the house eventually and I think that’s still true. It’s on sale at Land of Nod if you’re so inclined to check it out. I designed and made the rainbow quilt and the yellow and white blanket was a gift to my mom when she was pregnant with me. The little fox was also a gift (side note! I saw our little fox again this morning! I have such a huge crush on him!!!!)

CURTAINS

We’ve got mega wide (128″) windows, so it took four panels to span across. We bought navy and white striped blackout curtains (also Pillowfort from Target). The curtain rod was repurposed from our living room and I painted it the same dark blue as the back wall - it practically disappears!

TOYS

You don’t see a lot of toys here... because they’ve all been in storage for a couple of months. It’s amazing how little kids need and how much they can imagine on their own. In addition to “my giraffey friend” (baby shower gift), the fire truck (from Nana, found at a garage sale) and some wooden stacking and bead toys (similar), we have blocks and trains in the family room. Eventually we’ll rotate in some of his old toys, but less is more with that one for us.

BOOKCASE

The bookcase was made by my dad and Adam before Felix was born. It’s filled with his books and stuffed animals that we’ve received as gifts. Honestly it’s usually a sort of mass collection of books and not well organized, so I just took everything out, stacked books into rainbow colors and placed them back in that way. I’m calling it clean/semi-styled. I promise you it will not look like this a week from now, but hey! if he’s grabbing books and “reading” them I’m not complaining!

The vintage pull down school map is something I’ve wanted in a kid's room for a long time and I had seen it at an antique store a while back. After we painted the walls, I kept thinking about the map and luckily it was still available!! One thing I’ve realized is that if you see a second hand piece you love, get it then and there! Etsy also has some of these beauties if you don’t want to treasure hunt forever to find one! The colors on ours happen to match perfectly and it was a complete accident! I originally had it over the dresser/changing table, but both kids (especially Bea) played with it and while it’s not an old antique, it’s too nice to potential get poop on. Ha! It also matches the width of the book shelf better, and I love how it just pops off the wall!

DECORATIONS

I haven’t done much in the way of putting stuff on the walls besides the map and the kitty prints over the bed. Those are also from Felix’s nursery. I used bright poster board and cat treats to get these shots of our Raymond and Gizmo and are printed on canvas. We also kept the rainbow balloon Adam and I bought on our last solo vacation before kids and we still love it!

I’m so in love with this room! It’s absolutely possible to make an update incorporating sentimental nursery items with practical pieces that will grow into boyhood. Thanks to my parents helping us out, I only bought paint, the vintage map and the new headboard specifically for this space! Everything else was brought along from the nursery or repurposed from elsewhere in the house!
