do you headcanon the branches as siblings, or family in some other way, or just, like, coworkers? I feel like some of them have very sibling coded relationships (army and coastie come to mind), but air force is more like space force's... mentor? (for lack of a better word) and maybe this is just me, but I feel like marine and navy are more homoerotic than anything else. anyway, just wanna hear your thoughts :D

GIGGLING AT THE LAST BIT.

i think that the branches, like other personifications, end up having kind of complicated relationships since they aren't human. and they've changed over the years considering they're centuries old (sans airy/spacey). so it's like a weird mixed bag.

VERY LONG POST.

army -> coastie: sees coastie like an annoying little brother/cousin (fond) but still recognizes him as a colleague/co-worker simultaneously. for a while he saw coastie like a child since he was established well before the coast guard

coastie -> army: sees army like a cool older brother. struggles to see him as anything professionally (he feels they're too friendly for that). at some point he saw army in a paternal light but that didn't last that long.

army -> marine: diehard rivals but also, like, a really deep fraternal bond. "i hate you but i'm gonna be the mother fucker to kill you" <- said with the anger and fondness only a brother could hold for his brother. constantly trying to outdo him. used to just mildly dislike him.

marine -> army: the "diehard rivals but sworn brothers" thing is mutual. he used to just see army as competition/someone to outdo. now it's more friendly (even if they sure as hell don't act like it). they don't consider each other related (like army/nat. guard do) but they do consider each other family. like.. brothers by choice. it's weird to articulate.

army -> navy: their relationship is... weird. they don't interact with each other as much as they would with the other branches. most interactions they have are at a literal geographical distance (given work circumstances). army finds navy agitating but, and he'd rather eat spent shell casings than admit this, kind of likes navy's teasing. he doesn't have any feelings for him but he enjoys the attention, even if it's meant to be patronizing and irritating.

navy -> army: enjoys how easy it is to piss off army and rile him up. coastie is usually unbothered, air force gets genuinely upset, and space force is...space force. professionally the respects him, personally considers them to be on decent terms, but overall recognizes the distance between them.

army -> space force: they don't really interact. his thoughts on space force can be summed up like "Air Force what the fuck is wrong with your dog" but would pick a fight with anyone outside of the branches trying to make fun of him.

space force -> army: doesn't feel much for army. not in an apathetic/dislike kind of way, more like "i don't really have enough information to know how i feel about this guy". but overall he doesn't harbor much negative sentiment.

army -> air force: he makes fun of air force constantly. but it's sort of like... "i'm trying to teach you how to have thicker skin" with the worst approach ever. also it's meant to be a friendly fraternal thing. he harbors a lot of professional respect for air force but he doesn't show it much or often. he doesn't really give much compliments or praise to anyone, but air force is probably the guy he's given the most compliments to over the years. but even then it's far and few between. personally though, he sees air force as a pushover who's totally full of himself. he likes air force's confidence [in his intellect] but hates how easily he goes from full of it to self-deprecating so easily. grow a spine damnit this is gonna hurt you!! also army thinks he's a big nerd lol. if you're not a branch he won't let you make fun of air force for being a wet rag nerd though. it's more personal than it is with space force.

air force -> army: thinks army is antagonizing him because he dislikes him. like he thinks this guy has nothing but contempt for him. wonders how he can never do anything right by army (unaware that army just doesn't point out the stuff he thinks is good, only the bad). he's a little numb to it at this point but it still stings. he's stopped taking it personally but unfortunately now he's assuming that he's the problem. womp womp

army -> national guard: it's... complicated. they're brothers, but they're not that close. army wants to be closer with him but he's never had the chance to. and now that it's been so long, with everything, he's not sure how. would natty want a guy like him to be his brother? plus, natty is actually older than him. but army grew up so fast he kind of ended up as the older brother after a few decades, and that just made their relationship more complicated. natty started out mentoring him and everything, but then it kind of flipped on it's head and now he's the big brother figure. he feels a lot for natty, but he's not sure what any of it boils down to or what to do about it. i think if he had to be honest about his feelings he'd say he feels like he owes natty everything, and he wishes natty had a better brother.

national guard -> army: him and army have a lot in common. they both don't know how to feel about their relationship, they both want to be closer, but they both have the emotional comprehension of a brick. while natty is better off than him in that department, it's just... not easy still. "for us to be closer it'd require us to put in a lot of work we don't know how to, and we don't logistically have the ability to either way, but if awkwardly eating dinner together sometimes and playfully bickering is all we have in the cards right now then i'm willing to play my hand every time"

coastie -> navy: beach buddies! they're friends on pretty good terms. navy doesn't really tease coastie. he sorta looks up to navy. used to see navy like a little brother. he thinks navy's forgotten about all that, though.

navy -> coastie: i think navy sees him almost like a little brother, but he doesn't consider him family. it's a mutual sentiment: "you're like a brother to me." the irony is that coast guard is older than the navy! but navy "grew up" faster so they dynamic ended up shifting over the years. before that, though, navy looked up to coastie and saw him as an older brother/mentor figure. he hasn't actually forgotten this; he feels a personal debt to coastie and takes this very seriously, which doesn't seem much like him (a guy who can't seem to take anything seriously and just parties a lot). but it very much is.

coastie -> air force: good friends! very good friends. coastie is actually kinda jealous of air force; he feels pretty distant from the main 4 (navy, marine corps, army, air force). he doesn't mind it, though. or maybe he does. nobody really asks.

air force -> coastie: cares about coastie a lot. honestly pretty concerned for him. he knows coastie is wayyy older than he is and he's sure that his happy-go-lucky attitude has a, like... centuries of baggage beneath it. this leaves his mind a lot, though, and he only really thinks about it when his mind drifts elsewhere. likes to hang out with coastie.

coastie -> space force: mutually feels left out of the main 4. likes how weird space force is. and how space force doesn't judge him for being so talkative. space force is actually kind of quiet so it gives coastie ample room to talk, and coastie feels like he actually listens. ends up tagging along with air force+space force often.

space force -> coastie: almost the same as the way coastie feels for him. honestly pretty happy that coastie talks to him like a normal individual/equal and not like.. some weirdo.

coastie -> army: sees army like an older brother but they're on surprisingly equal footing in terms of a "power dynamic"; army sees him as an equal as much as he does a little brother figure. they're pretty close. he's the bubbly golden retriever to army's pissed off german shepherd or something. worries about army a lot and does his best to help him without making it obvious.

army -> coastie: very close; sees him kinda like a little brother. i think his relationship with coastie is especially complicated on his end, though. because he already has a brother. but he's not very close with his brother. but he's really close with coastie. it's really difficult for him to parse. i don't want to say he sees coastie like a surrogate for the relationship he wants with national guard, but... well, he sees a lot of natty in coastie. and i think it kind of tears him up inside because of how complicated his feelings are on this. doesn't help that he has the emotional and interpersonal skills of a cucumber.

navy <--> marine: honestly nobody knows what's going on with them. i mean, they've never explicitly said anything. but there is, indeed, an incredibe amount of palpable homoerotic tension between them. they bunk together. navy drives him everywhere. you literally cannot see one of them without the other. and let's just say i didn't mention marine in the "why navy only teases army" tidbit for a reason. draw your own conclusions teehee :^)

air force -> space force: it's complicated. because of the circumstances of how they stared out, he almost feels a paternal kind of way towards space force? but also kind of just like a mentor/colleague relationship? but also like of like siblings? but also kind of just best friends? it's really complicated. but overall it's a very positive relationship. he cares a lot for space force, and it doesn't really matter to him in what way he cares for space force; paternal, fraternal, neither, both, secret third option.

space force -> air force: doesn't feel anything you could articular with traditional terms but air force is basically one of the only other branches he really feels anything towards. his feelings towards the others are pretty numb/shallow or he just flat out doesn't know them well enough, but he does feel pretty deeply for air force. nothing that is or could be considered romantic though, to be clear.

BASICALLY their relationships are all super duper complicated due to their nature as personifications and how they change over time. but they're all pretty tight knit (despite some being closer than others).

As a team

I'm pretty sure any team with Sonic on it is just referred to as team Sonic ngl, I don't know what they would be called anyway? Just bc they have so many conflicting traits

They'd probably end up with something generic like team Force or smthn

They all have a music preference but don't mind the music the others listen to

They bond mostly by beating each other up. It's all in good fun. Kinda.

All three of them are quiet one on one but are nothing except overstimulating when together

Sharing Tails is actually the worst thing to ever happen to them, as well as Tails. They fight constantly. All the time.

They rarely ever actually say things that would cause emotional damage, and they're all horrible at apologizing, but they're all learning together. Since everyone understands hating emotional vulnerability so well they cut each other some slack

Normally only two people are fighting at the same time, allowing the other one to act as a mediator. Though, three-way fights aren't unheard-of, and they usually get over it after punching each other a bunch instead of talking through it

Shadow and Knuckles take great joy in teaming up against Sonic when he gets too cocky

Group costume except they all showed up as the same thing on accident and started brawling because of it

Argue like brothers. Everyone is tired of them. Everyone. However, when it comes down to it if you upset one of them you upset all of them. Especially if you upset Sonic, the other two have way less restraint than him. You will get jumped I fear

None of them keep track of anything. They lose things constantly. Important documents? Yeah they're gone. Why'd you even give them those? At this point it's your fault you know how they are. Shadow is the only one with an excuse (I headcanon Shadow still suffers from short term memory problems many years after his not-really death)

None of their sleep schedules line up. Ever. Someone is always running on empty and is cranky all day.

Separate

Sonic is an early bird and takes naps throughout the day. Shadow is a night owl and doesn't really need to sleep as much as the average person. Knuckles goes to sleep super super early and has the sleep schedule of an old man

Shadow spends a lot of time trying to figure out newer technology. Despite being the ultimate lifeform it just really doesn't come naturally to him

Knuckles is the same way except he doesn't care, and only really tries when Tails asks him to

Sonic ends up being shorter than most if not all his friends and is very salty about it

Sonic and Knuckles are audhd

Shadow is autistic OCD <- projecting

Shadow's house is covered in incense. Every room has one. They're all lavender scented.

Shadow hates change, Sonic has mixed feelings

Knuckles is a chronic headache haver. Like no wonder he's always in a bad mood, do you know how hard it is to get Advil when you live on a floating rock

It's okay, Knuckles has tons of natural/organic remedies for most sickness anyway

Sonic is really good at charades

Shadow is super sentimental and refuses to admit it, he has lots of old mementos that he simply refuses to acknowledge but can't bring himself to throw away

Knuckles is fluent in multiple dead languages

Sonic and Knuckles are both super into geography, one is way better than the other one at it but you can choose which is which lol

Knuckles likes grapes but can't stand any of the faux grape flavors of processed foods. He wants grape flavor not purple flavor.

On the same wavelength, he doesn't really f/w processed food in general. He spends most of his time foraging and making his own foods from scratch, most processed foods make him sick

The other day, while scrolling through Tumblr, I saw an Espio x Silver fancomic and somehow mistook Silver for Bark the Polar Bear at first. After realizing Bark was actually Silver, I found it funny that I somehow confused those two very distinct characters for each other and laughed off the idea of Espio x Bark as being pretty stupid, but now that I’ve put more thought into it I think it's kind of a cute matchup.

I could totally see the two of them as the epitome of comfortable silence. Espio's a fairly calm and meditative person and Bark of course doesn't talk at all, so I can definitely imagine them being totally comfortable and capable of having a great time together in total silence. Most of the sentiments shared between them are communicated more through actions than words, body language and facial expression stuff, as if they'd invented their own form of sign language. Bark could tap Espio on the shoulder, gesticulate his hands a bit, roll his eyes, and jerk his head towards the door and Espio would perfectly understand he means "This party sucks ass, wanna go to your place and play video games?" and agree with him.

As for how others would react to them dating, I've always thought of the Chaotix and Hooligans as being personal rivals (like the Hooligans usually have no quarrels with anyone unless someone else is paying them to, but will always immediately beef with the Chaotix unprovoked, even when off the job) so Espio and Bark are kinda like Romeo and Juliet except much less tragic and murderous. I feel like the other members of the teams would react to the news that the two were dating as such: (under the cut)

Vector: Really more confused than anything, he isn't especially angry that Espio's dating Bark, he just straight up doesn't understand why he would. Vector likes Bark more than the other Hooligans of course, he's not as concerned about Espio’s relationship with him as he would be if Espio was dating Nack or Bean instead, but Bark’s still affiliated with the other two and Vector can’t tell if he should trust him or not. He once tried to do the protective dad thing and took Bark aside to interrogate him about his intentions with Espio, but realized how ridiculous the idea of interrogating Bark was after trying for like two minutes and promptly gave up.

Charmy: He'd immediately go 100% annoying little brother mode, pestering Espio constantly about the relationship. He doesn't seem to care at all who in particular Espio’s dating, just that him dating anyone means that Charmy has new angles with which he can prod and annoy him. Charmy's always had a theory that Bark's fully capable of speech but only talks in secret with his closest allies, so every time Espio comes home from hanging out with him Charmy asks some variant of "So what'd Bark tell you today?" or “Is it just me or does Bark’s voice sound kinda nasally lately.” in an attempt to catch him off guard and get him to accidentally admit his boyfriend can talk. This strategy hasn’t even come close to working yet, but that hasn’t discouraged him.

Nack: Despite their long-lived partnership, Nack's really never known much about Bark's personality, what he wants, or even if he wants anything at all, so naturally when the news that his silent enigmatic bruiser had inexplicably started going out with the ninja boy from the Chaotix reached him, the shock stunned him in place like a nuclear flash grenade. According to a certain Duck's reports, Nack proceeded to remain slack-jawed and immobile for the following three hours and swallow at least twelve flies during that time (though the reliability of this claim is debatable). After that initial shock and much considering, Nack begrudgingly decided that as long as it doesn't get in the way of the Hooligans' business, Bark can date Espio. He very noticeably doesn’t approve of Bark canoodling around with one of the enemy, and can be heard loudly complaining to nobody about it every time Bark leaves the house for a date, but he never directly confronts or put more restrictions on him (as he's afraid Bark would quit and join the Chaotix if pushed too far).

Bean: Remember how I compared Bark and Espio's relationship to Romeo and Juliet, except with much less drama and death? Well Bean seems to be under the impression that Bark and Espio’s relationship is like Romeo and Juliet with considerably more drama and death. He often goes on long tirades whenever he sees the two of them together, acting like a one-duck Greek chorus. Like he could be walking down the street one day, totally minding his own business, until he notices Bark and Espio through the window of a nearby building and suddenly bursts into soliloquy: “Oh woe! The two tragic lovers reunite once more, lamenting in the knowledge this could be the last time they ever embrace! What a sordid past, what an even sordider future, will this misery and drama never end!?!?” Then the camera cuts to Espio and Bark and they’re just eating lunch together at Burger King or some shit. Bean’s fully in view outside the window, sorrowfully praying on his knees that the gods above have mercy on their poor innocent souls. Espio looks at his whopper and goes “This tastes like ass”. Bark nods and dips his in ketchup. Bean curls up into the fetal position and breaks down crying.

I kinda really wanna write more stuff about this ship, I like it a lot more than I was expecting to, the dynamics involved are really fun, and I think it’s funny to never explain how or why Espio and Bark started dating. The only problem now is to make up a ship name. Barkspio? Espibark? I don't know, if anyone's actually has any suggestions tell me.

I wanna talk about Flip Turner (Tokunosuke Omoteura)/Tokunosuke Hyori

Maybe I'm reading into his character far too much, but hes such a comically tragic character. Sure, Yu-Gi-Oh is nothing but tragic characters. Alot of whom are presented as comedic and/or kind. Just look at the protags.

Yuma himself is no stranger to difficulties and I think thats part of what makes him so likable.

But this is about Flip/Tokunosuke

A majority of people are willing to write him off as simply annoying. By design hes likely meant to be. However Flip is still a tragic character.

In both the Manga and the Anime Flip blatantly admits that his behavior is a direct result of being taken advantage of by older children, ones that he trusted and even considered friends. And in the Manga the backstory includes overhearing his own Mother speak ill of him to his older brother. She doesn't care what he does so long as he's not bothering his brother who she considers more clever.

These events ruined him and changed him as a person.

Flip, is a boy whos mindset is hinged on the paranoid belief that everyone has ulterior motives. He is reluctant to take people at their word. His actions are a way to take back power over his situation. If he lies and cheats no one can take advantage of him again because hes already ensured his success.

The sentiment that Flip is like this 'just because' is canonically wrong. Flip may come off as an unreliable narrator. He even plays into that in some scenarios. But he admits to his past while under the influence of Number Cards. I genuinely do not believe Flip would have if he wasnt.

Flip has trust issues, seemingly even within his own friend group. Old habits die hard and with a kid like Flip expecting him to 100% switch on a dime into fully trusting people is unfathomable. He pushed others away in the past likely out of paranoia of getting hurt again. Yuma is probably the first person he let himself open up too since the events that caused him to shut others out.

Thats not to say Flip doesn't care about his friends. He does. Especially Yuma who he considers his best friend. He wants to be involved with them. He feels indignant when he isnt. (Seen below - taken from S1 EP25). However Flip is a complicated kid mentally and emotionally because if how he was treated in the past.

At the end of the day Flip is played off for laughs. He's a small impish boy who lies and cheats and has a goofy voice. So its easy to forget that he's the way he is because hes been hurt.

I adore him greatly, I see myself in him. Trusting people is hard when you've been hurt by the people you trusted.

Hes 13, hes acting out. Luckily hes found a group that embraces him, he could have easily fallen further if not for Yuma. I wished the series had of focused on his growth (and by extention some of yumas friends) more. I feel like he (and the others) had a lot of unused potential.

CONGRATS ON BEATING THE GAME! Any particular stand-out thoughts you want to share??

OH MY GOD DO I....... first of all fern sevilla. oh my god. i love everything he had going on.well. big shocker from residential fern fan #3 but. GOOD FUCKING LORD.

i really liked seeing him and florinia. for a lot of gay little personal reasons but like. i dunno. it's nice to see him slowly try repairing his relationship with florinia. and trying to be a good person despite it all. and just. getting better i think.

he played the cards life had dealt him and played them fucking SOOOO POORLY LIKE SO BAD. but its never like. the end. his life doesn't stop and he doesn't have to go sacrifice himself and die. well. forever. to go prove that he's improved but like. he keeps on trying!!!! he keeps on going!!!!!! this shit is hard and he's embarrassed and frankly it SUCKS but he keeps on going. he apologizes to florinia he apologizes to the player and he shows that hes sorry!!!

i just think. that fern is very cool. and he deserves good things. because things get bad and in return you'll get worse but the grass still gets greener so long as you make the effort to grow it. i think that was like 8 metaphors strung together and im not sure how effectively that worked but you get my sentiment at the very least!!!

i dont know. i just love fern. he just wanted people to smile at him, but tried getting that through fear and intimidation. because being a normal kid was never enough for florinia, so clearly he was doing something wrong, right? so he gets worse and worse because this is the closest he's gotten to a Reaction out of florinia in years and if the universe won't give him what he deserves he'll take it.

JUST KIDDING. #EPICFAIL FERN. after the protagonist fucks his shit up again on victory road infront of everyone everything just. Happens. he deserved better than this- and maybe in a different timeline, thats what he got- but hes stuck HERE. mfw i am a chad but i have psychological problems so i am stuck here with you virgins. and he's embarrassed to all hell and florinia *still* just doesn't give a shit and then he starts arguing and yelling about how unfair lifes been to him and. no one cares. he doesn't get any sympathy because he doesn't deserve it and he's thrown into the machinery and is bleeding out and everyone is walking away

well. nearly everyone is.

florinia's still there. because in some fucked up way she still cares about her little brother. and in some even more fucked up way, fern cares too. he can't admit it and sure as hell wont for *checks watch* at least 60 more hours of gameplay. but theres a reason he wants a reaction out of her so bad.

and then he fights you again in the wasteland and loses *again* and he tries getting the mew and fails *that* too and his face is fucked up and everything is fucked up. and, in fact, continues to get fucked up! he stays in the corner of the nightclub because no one wants to talk to him and he doesnt wanna talk to anyone and. and. shafjsagasfhdsjkg. and despite it all. despite no one caring and despite it sucking so bad for him to do. he still tries to improve himself. he admits maybe the protagonist wasn't so bad.

and then the mewtwo quest. he takes the bullet for the protagonist and gets turned to stone. he didn't have to. it was only those two. it'd be one annoying as fuck competitor down anyways

and LORD HIS FUCKING UMBRAL AND THE MOMENTS LEADING UP TO IT SORRY NO TRYIN TO BE NORMAL RIGHT NOW IM GONNA EXPLODE. IM GONNA FUCKING EXPLODE. IM GOING TO EXPLODE. HE CARES SO FUCKING MUCH. fern message I DONT EVEN CARE *throws up and cries from caring so hard*. HE FOUGHT TWO KIDS FIVE YEARS OLDER THAN HIM JUST CAUSE THEY FUCKED UP FLORINIA'S BIRTHDAY. DUDE COME ON. BUT HE THOUGHT THAT. FLORINIA DIDNT CARE. ABOUT HIM OR ANYTHING HE'D DO.

and in his umbral state where all bets are off its time to give fucking EXPOSITION. deepest desires that he'd never say out loud. what are they you might ask person who's definitely already played reborn and know sthe answer? its seeing his sister safe T_T HE WAS SCARED. HE WAS SCARED AND JUST WANTED IT TO HURT LESS TO THINK THAT FLORINIA DIDN'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT HIM. GOD. GOD. GODDDDDD. but in his own fucked up way he loves her and always has and hjkdsg

and then he breaks out of it and florinia expects him to just go back to normal- that it was all made up and strings that lin had pulled to get a laugh out of it, or something. but NO he genuinely just wants to. hgdjkshgs. hajnxzm. hfhjkhdgsjgkg. because. things can get better. they really really can. and. oughhhhhhhhh.

and by the end its like. they've lost a lot of time together and on their lives being the kinds of people that'd keep them save but never keep them happy. but its never too late. and. things can get better. and even if its slow and awkward and the first thing they do is immediately argue over what they're gonna tell everyone else about what happened because lord knows the protagonist wont but florinias version is BORINGGGGGGGGG as HELLLLL but at the same time ferns includes 3 more explosions than were probably there they both think. that maybe its not too late. not too late to have a little brother. not too late to have an older sister

A little something for a very special person on her very special day! Happy Birthday @princesa-pens-and-pizza

Donnie tilts his head and bends down to get a closer look. The creature stares back at him with fathomless, black eyes. There is a storm within these depths, a darkness and a hunger for power and control. Donnie can see his own face reflected in the dark pupils, distorted and alien. A shiver runs down his spine and his toes curl beneath his feet in breathless anticipation of chaos to come.

"Remarkable." he whispers and reaches out a careful hand. "What a terrifying companion you've got."

The small white rabbit with the pink button nose and the eyepatch covering the right side of its face sniffs at his hand before stretching its furry head towards his palm. Donnie obliges and pets it between the ears. He marvels at the coarse fur and the floppy ears.

"She is my greatest creation. The first in my ever growing army." The human boy, who has introduced himself as Mercutio Von Ryan, the greatest scientist there ever was, is and will be (Donnie kept himself from scoffing only because he tries to practice humility because he definitely IS capable of that, thank you very much Raph!), is clutching the rabbit to his chest with utmost care. He holds his head up high at Donnie's praise, a satisfied grin stretching his lips. "Her name is Onslaught."

"A fitting name for such a magnificent beast."

"Beast?" A voice from behind Don interrupts. Leo leans over his shoulder and Donnie holds him back with nothing but one arm and years of experience. His brother strains against him and tries his best to climb over and around Donnie to reach the little furball. "It's a rabbit! The cutest little rabbit. Who's the cutest? You are! Yes you are! Donnie stop it! I wanna cuddle it!"

Donnie shoves Leo's face away while giving Mercutio an apologetic smile. "Excuse my dum-dum brother. He has been dropped on his head many times as a small turtle."

"No excuse necessary. I myself am similarly burdened with an ignorant sibling." Mercutio replies magnanimously and holds the rabbit up towards Leo who is still staring at it with longing in his eyes. "This is not a pet! If you try to cuddle her, she will rip your face right off. Be warned."

In that moment Onslaught wrinkles her little nose and sneezes the tiniest of sneezes.

Leo gasps and clutches at his heart. He slides down to the ground with tears in his eyes and with as much drama as his antics deserve. "She's so cuuuuuuuuuute! Ughhhh!"

Merc looks at his fluffy weapon of mass destruction with an expression like he can't decide whether he is disappointed or concerned. It seems like he settles on the latter because he tucks her into his coat and mumbles "It's cold in here."

"Aw bro, we all know that you love that rabbit." Pietro, Merc's twin brother, croons from the table where he'd been reading his book the whole time. He winks at Leo. "He's such a softy on the inside, but he would never admit it. You know how it is with these self proclaimed bad boys."

"Ohohoho, don't I know it!" Leo agrees. He jumps to his feet and slaps Donnie's shoulder. Donnie is about to snap at him but stops himself when he sees the indulgent, affectionate smile Leo sends his way.

He huffs and turns away before his twin can see the answering twitch of his own lips. Exasperated Bleurgh. These sentimental moments are making him soft.

"OMG dude! Are you reading Tales of Desdemona? What volume are you on?"

"Five! Lord Kristan just-"

"Ahhhhhhh! Lalalalalalala. No spoilers, I just finished book four! That cliffhanger destroyed me!"

"Oh, tell me about it! I cried straight into Onslaught's fur for four days."

"Hah. Hard same! Mayhem was not amused."

While Leo and Pietro gush about the epic and very unrealistic love story of a lady and a lord, Donnie introduces his own creation, Shelldon. Mercutio is very appreciative of the sleek design and the fact that Donnie probably doesn't have to clean the robot's toilet every day to which Don concurs but also points out some of his son's high maintenance quirks and that the rabbit is probably softer to cuddle. Scientific cuddling, of course.

When Raph and Mikey come to collect them hours later, Leo and Pietro run around the room to do some role playing as Lady Desdemona and Lord Kristan while Don and Merc try to get Shelldon and Onslaught to battle each other to determine who is the better pet/surrogate son/weapon of mass destruction.

Too bad Shelldon is more interested in carrying Onslaught around and humming nursery rhymes while the rabbit naps on the robot's warm metal plating.

They decide it's a draw.

15×09 "The Trap" Meta

Warning: As always, Destiel and Saileen positive so don't like don't read.

OMG guys I can't even this episode was something else. Like, for real.

First of all, it looks like I was right about Eileen being part of Chuck's plan.

"I helping to Sam the Bunker. To Sam. To Romance." Thanks Chuck for proving me right, but if you could please not hurt my baby Eileen and Sam while you do it would be awesome ;-;

Now if only I could be in the right about the happy ending...

But whatever. Let's talk about the prayer first, because I could talk about it for hours. Everything was so wonderful.

First, when Dean looks he only have 29 minutes left to find Cas, you could see all the trauma resourfaced. You could see how he was imagining ending up without Cas again. Having to go back home (although he didn't seem to be going to the portal when right before he found Cas, but I have no certainty about it) and leave Cas behind, and he imagined himself reliving the guilt and the hallucinations and the hopelessness.

And, above all, Dean imagined having to live through it all knowing he never fixed their relationship. Rowena's words about not waiting until it was too late must have been ringing in his ears. And he knows that he needs Cas to know.

Purgatory's pureness gave him a new understanding of his emotions, and I'm not talking about the anger (it's obvious Dean already knew he had that problem), but the need for Cas.

"Cas, buddy, I need you." That same need, mixed with the possibility of losing Cas yet once again was enough for Dean to just break down in the middle of a land of abominations.

And the first thing he says. "I should've stopped you." Can you see how he is telling us we were right all along? Cas said "I left but you didn't stop me." And now Dean knows he could have.

If he had tried to talk, if he had asked Cas to stay, maybe he wouldn't have left. Dean put himself through that depression (the even heavier drinking, comfort food, the coldness) .

[And as an author note. How was that real? "You didn't stop me/I should've stop you" The Brontë sisters WISH they could write that levels of angsty romance.]

And, having Dean finally admitting to his very real anger issues gives me very high hopes for everything else. It's not like his problem will disappear, it does was kinda beaten into him, but having him admitting it is recognizing it as a standing problem between Dean and a Happy Future, so we can assume that will be another one of the problem they'll tackle in the rest of the season.

(Or maybe they'll forget about it. But s15 has been so good until now that I'm hoping they won't ignore it.)

And Dean calling Cas his best friends. Holy mother of God. I know I made several jokes about it, but it truly is so significant. Because words like "Family" and "Brother (and sister for Charlie)" are ones Dean had given other people. But Best Friend is only for Cas, it puts him in a special place in Dean's live no one else shares.

Maybe it's not exactly the place we want him to be in (yet), but the fact alone that they recognize once again how Dean and Cas' relationship is different to the one they have with anyone else.

So when did found Cas and said "Okay, Cas, I need to say something", I agree we wasn't about to repeat his prayer.

The Prayer (the fact that Dean got on his damn knees, for god's sake) was a moment of absolute vulnerability and emotion. Dean grew up in with a "no emotions" mentality tought to him by John, and so we seldom see him show this kind of raw vulnerability by choice. Considering that the Winchesters (as always, I include Jack and Cas in there) are an experts in 'I screw up and you got angry but then we had a bigger problem so we kinda left it behind us bc we are family and I love you anyway, or we just move on without never really discussing it' but not in actually apologizing, I would go as far as to say this was probably the most heartfelt apologize we've seen in the series.

I've watched the scene like a million times, and he just carries an attitude of doing something big. Like a big reveal, not like repiting himself.

Because he knew Cas heard him. The reason he said "I hope you can here me, that wherever you are, it's not too late" it's 'cause he was afraid Cas had died. That is was really too late. Once he saw Cas was alive? I don't think Dean doubted for a second Cas had heard him. He was hoing to say something else.

Cas clearly didn't want to take the risk of Dean telling him what he truly wanted to hear- what he had wanted for years. The risk of his deal with the Empty hovering behind hime. He couldn't be so selfish as allowing himself to hear it, just to abandon Dean right after.

Then Cas interrupted him.

Or abandoning Sam when he was at God's mercy, or leaving the World SavingTM to them. He couldn't. Dean doesn't even now about the deal.

I cannot tell you how much I loved it. Not in a "I want this to happen" way, of course not, but in what it means.

That's why Dabb said this episode wasn't the resolution. There's still much unsaid between them, if you believe there is an 'I love you' somewhere there. I think that's what has my hopes the highest. Because if they are only bff, then why didn't this solve everything? What is left hanging? I don't want to clown but it's literally the only thing that makes sense in my opinion.

And now, let's talk about the future Sam saw.

Sam and Dean don't need only each other to be happy, they need other people. That's basically what that future said.

"What's happened to you Dean? Ever since..."

"Ever since what? We lost pretty much everyone we ever cared about?"

[There is like a 2 second pause here that I feel very important andd significant. The separation between what 'everyone' and 'Cas']

"Ever since the Mark made Cas go crazy? Ever since I had to bury him in Ma'lak box? Ever since then? Yeah." [Jfc you can hear it pains him to say Cas' name]

"Bobby had a death wish and you know it. And Jody? Ever since what happened to Donna and the girls, she does too.

And after Eileen? So do you."

He's acknowledging everyone's breaking point. Jody's was Donna and the girls (we don't know exactly which one was the last straw, as we know that at least in Claire's case they died at different times). Sam's was Eileen. His was Cas.

And he is very clear in that. We can't know what happened first, but we know that Sam asks what happened to *him* and he says it was Cas going crazy. It was having to bury Cas alive what made him lose all hope. Because at least he can hope they ones dead can find pace, but Cas? Dean, and for how he said it he probably did it alone, had to bury Cas knowing he was going to be there for the rest of the time. Suffering alone. Dean knows how it's like to have the Mark.

That broke Dean. And having Sam wasn't enough to put him back together.

And after Eileen somehow died again, Sam just stop caring about living, he just care about taking down as many monsters as he can before he dies. 'Death wish' Dean called it. He would know about that, he is Dean "You wanna die" Winchester, after all.

Having Dean wasn't enough for Sam to want to keep on living.

"We lost, brother. We lost. I'm done."

They still have each other? Yes. Is that remotely enough? No. That's what the future told us. They need more than each other, they need other people.

But there was a little something else that made it even more beautiful.

"The Dean who raised me [...]"

Let's be clear about something, I think the show never gives enough recognition for having raised same pretty much by himself since he was 4 years. The situation was totally unfair to Dean and yet he never once took it out on Sam, he just look out for him, cooked for him, and make sure he could be as much of a child as the situation allowed, that is a lot more than Dean ever could. In his own words, he wasn't just a brother, he was also a father and a mother.

I just want to cry for thinking how hard that was for both brother. And Sam knows it, even if he doesn't always acknowledges. So the fact that he chose the words "the Dean that raised me" when "the Dean that I know", for example, would have conveyed the sentiment as well, is significant.

They wanted to remember how important they are for each other, how much they love each other. They don't dismiss that, they are making sure we remember that, at the same time they are telling us the alone aren't enough for a happy ending.

They are telling us what we need for a True Happy Ending.

Dean and Sam still being close brothers and loving each other, but allowing themselves to love and need other people.

Okay I'll go to the point.

A HAPPY ENDING IS SAM AND THEN HAVING OTHER PEOPLE IN THEIR LIVES WITHOUT LOSING EACH OTHER.

A HAPPY ENDING IS THE END OF THE TOXIC CODEPENDENCY AND THE START OF A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP THAT INCLUDES THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER PEOPLE.

You guys now I've been saying they are hinting at it since my meta of "The Rupture" but this ain't foreshadowing THEY ARE SCREAMING IT. Like I can't come up with a radically different interpretation.

So this episode only got my hopes for endgame Saileen and Destiel (the destiel maybe not at canon as the saileen, but heavily hinted at least) even higher. Specially for the parallel with Eileen having Dean's doubts ("I don't know what's real") and Sam making kinda answering the same ("We are"/"I know that was real"). Btw I'll be screaming because of that for the rest of my days.

[BONUS: Random questions I can't seem to answer.

Does the angels even know God's going bersek? I mean, Belphegor didn't know it was God the one who broke hell... but even Lilith's been brought back. Do they know Micheal's back? God I don't know.

Was that really a possible future? Or it does was like a Zacharaiah tactic? Why does Chuck's abscence makes monster go crazy? Wasn't the point that it didn't unblanaced the powers?

Story-wise, why ain't Cas in next episode?

Was that the last mention of Claire? An off-screen hypotetical death? Please someome let me see my girl again.]
