do you know the difference between Hebephrenic schizophrenia/disorganized schizophrenia vs schizotypal PD ? let me know if you need more information on this question i am asking
Firstly, hebephrenic / disorganised schizophrenia isn't a diagnosis anymore.
This was the definition of hebephrenic / disorganised schizophrenia from the ICD-10:
"A form of schizophrenia in which affective changes are prominent, delusions and hallucinations fleeting and fragmentary, behaviour irresponsible and unpredictable, and mannerisms common. The mood is shallow and inappropriate, thought is disorganized, and speech is incoherent. There is a tendency to social isolation. Usually the prognosis is poor because of the rapid development of "negative" symptoms, particularly flattening of affect and loss of volition. Hebephrenia should normally be diagnosed only in adolescents or young adults."
and from the DSM-IV-TR:
"The essential features of the Disorganized Type of Schizophrenia are disorganized speech, disorganized behavior, and flat or inappropriate affect. The disorganized speech may be accompanied by silliness and laughter that are not closely related to the content of the speech. The behavioral disorganization (i.e., lack of goal orientation) may lead to severe disruption in the ability to perform activities of daily living (e.g., showering, dressing, or preparing meals). Criteria for the Catatonic Type of Schizophrenia are not met, and delusions or hallucinations, if present, are fragmentary and not organized into a coherent theme. Associated features include grimacing, mannerisms, and other oddities of behavior. Impaired performance may be noted on a variety of neuropsychological and cognitive tests. This subtype is also usually associated with poor premorbid personality, early and insidious onset, and a continuous course without significant remissions. Historically, and in other classification systems, this type is termed hebephrenic."
Essentially, it's a type of schizophrenic presentation characterised mostly by negative psychotic symptoms, especially formal thought disorder (disorganised thinking & speech).
The main difference between schizophrenia (SZA) and StPD is the presence of positive psychotic symptoms (delusions, hallucinations, thought disorder). But since hebephrenic schizophrenia is mostly about negative psychotic symptoms (avolition, anhedonia, alogia, flat affect/diminished emotional expression etc) & disorganised symptoms (thought disorder) we can't really use positive psychotic symptoms to differentiate the two. StPD can have some symptoms of thought disorder and negative psychotic symptoms, but not to a SZA degree (e.g. StPD speech can be weird, but SZA speech can be downright impossible to understand).
The other difference between SZA and StPD is persistent psychosis. So the symptoms of hebephrenic SZA are persistent, and aren't episodic or triggered by stress, while psychosis in StPD is episodic and often triggered by stress.
People with StPD also meet the general criteria for a personality disorder, while someone with SZA won't.
StPD can be premorbid (turn into) to SZA. StPD is relatively stable over a person's lifetime, while SZA is strongly associated with a decline in functioning.

An actual linguist is most likely to answer this better so do not take this as an academic claim but more a 'the health is determined by the four humours' type of meanderthalic observation but between the argument that language is 'innate' [ or at the very least, that we have a 'seed' for it that later sprouts with practice ] and that humans in their exceptional intelligence/analytic skills are able to grasp and solve language like a puzzle.
Um. Well, the problem with the first is that it is indeed not easy to falsify, exactly, but I generally find it more convincing [ again, as somebody with no actual claim to an informed opinion ] if only because language is very complex. I am sure even people like me with no backgrounds in linguistics are well-aware by now that language is far more complicated than memorising plug-and-play formulae and swapping out the words. Like, language is more than just counting and arranging lexical units.
And this is what I find confusing about the notion that humans have no 'innate' ability for language and that it is wholly learned from the outside world: language is quite complex but most people know how to use language 'correctly' [ for lack of a better word ].
Other skills that to me seem significantly simpler [ or less complex, if that communicates something different ] aren't held by the majority of the population, and it does seem aren't as 'intuitive' to learn, so I am uncertain with how to reconcile this with the idea that people have that much of a general 'competence' to 'solve puzzles' in a way that lets them learn language [ without some innate... I don't know what linguists call it, the great automatic grammatisator or something ], but not something else like, um, chess, or looking at a piece of art and immediately knowing it's ugly as shit[1].
Especially when considering that machines have been 'taught' how to play board games before they 'learned' how to 'speak' [ insofar that you would call that 'speaking' ], it doesn't seem too erroneous to assume that if the 'answer' is in the human mind's great automatic puzzleinator, then you'd think there would be a higher proportion of people who would have given Karpov a run for his money far earlier.
As a sort of... uh, folk-knowledge intuition-no-evidence feeling I have, it does seem language is uniquely coupled with 'abstraction' in that if you asked me, language exists specifically for the sake of conveying abstraction? Or perhaps I imagine that 'speech' resembles/represents 'thought' in the same way that a mental projection resembles/represents material reality.
I've always wondered if, coupled with humans being 'innately social' and thus sort of leading to an 'innate' need as well to communicate abstraction then perhaps this alone is enough to make the brain 'prioritise' the need to learn language, devoting resources to that instead of the less 'important' skills, but, uh, this does seem like a weak argument, at least one that doesn't sound any more reasonably 'provable' than the assumption that a person can just 'know' how to use language given the 'seed' is allowed to sprout within a critical period of youth.
I haven't really read anything about this at all, but do animals create art? Not counting the ones where they are trained to do so by humans. But do animals just spontaneously make art, for self-expression? I think if they did this would reveal a depth in their ability for abstract thinking, which would have important implications for language acquisition. I think that 'language' is a representation of abstraction (and a recursive theory of mind), and that animals cannot (seem to) use 'human' language because they lack the sort of abstract thinking humans do. 'Art' is another such representation so... well, I'm really not articulating this the way I want, but I think the idea I am gesturing to is evident enough.
[1] I say this as a lighthearted example of a skill that seems less complex than language but of which is proportionally more uncommon in the population, because I cannot think of another skill to use as an example [ Maybe riding a bike? I cannot ride a bike, and that's more of a motor skill than a cognitive one so maybe it is not related ]. For the sake of simplicity please ignore how there is no objective measure for evaluating an artwork as 'shit' and understand I am gesturing to some understanding of the technical skills/anatomical structure/realism/whatever else of art.

Fuck it
Q!PACTW Headcanons
Why? Because I can't sleep and it's already 2 in the morning In my fucking country :)
1-
Pac had broke his prosthesis more than once and it was not an accident
I belive that he still can't get over the fact that he doesn't have a "normal leg" simply because he wasn’t born without a leg, nor he suffered an accident, no, a crazy man had eaten his leg, and his prosthetic is an proof of that, so in his worst moments, he just breaks it in a point where it is unrecognisable, but in the end, he or Mike always have to re-fix it.
2-
After Mike and Richa's disappearance, Pac actually gave up on trying to get better, because why would he get better if no one was there to actually make him fell better on the inside
3-
Pac on the Happy Pills arc actually used more of the pills than forever trying to find an cure, and I belive that this arc is going to bite in hiss ass later, because cucurucho is going to check on him and forever sooner or later, and when he discovers that they aren't using the pills, the shit is going to hit the fan, and also, I belive that he used to grind some of the pills so he could smoke it or well... sniff it, so the effect of the medicine would last longer
4-
Pac has lots of cuts on his whole body, LOTS OF THEM. Some are from the jail, and some he did himself, but most of them are on his arms, that's why he (most of the time) uses clothes that covers his arms
5-
Pac is asexual, but is mostly because in prison, he learned that sex is only an exchange of favours, so an relationship for him is mostly based on trust and love rather than lust
6-
He not only has PTSD from prison, but also he develop an type of schizophrenia from all of his trauma called Hebephrenic schizophrenia, where the person is typified by shallow and inappropriate emotional responses, foolish or bizarre behaviour, false beliefs (delusions), and false perceptions (hallucinations). Witch in my opinion, matches his character perfectly.
If you guys want more, lemme know in the comments plz

censordoll has hebephrenic schizophrenia (headcanon) with explanation
(apologies for this, not only is psychology my special interest, but i LOVE censordoll… so it all works out)
to start, the hebephrenic category of schizophrenia is characterized by disorganized behavior/speech, shallow or inappropriate emotional responses (could also be called mood incongruence), hallucinations, and delusions.
the diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia is to have at least two of these things:
delusions (strong, inexplicable beliefs that are irrational in nature)
hallucinations (when your body or mind perceives something that is not really there)
thought disorders (patterns of thought that cannot be explained with reasoning or senses)
she also has other schizophrenia characteristics, such as:
social avoidance
false belief of superiority
religious delusion
compulsive behavior
irrational/aggressive behavior
depression
being consumed/territorial over interests
now that i have that out of the way, let me explain why she fits into this category.
delusions: believing she is the matriarch, narcissism due to her self-imposed isolation, belief that she is better than others due to her lack of eggs, and being free from original sin. (false belief of superiority) she views herself on the same morality, power level, and deserving of the same respect as the lord, along with believing that she is more qualified to sermonize over moralton than reverend putty. she also displays hyperreligiosity. when she protests, she claims that picketing and protesting is doing “god’s work” (religious delusion) and even if the delusion is right, it becomes a delusion when they use illogical or unethical methods of explaining it.
thought disorders (illogical/irrational thinking): eggs = her removed ovaries. she is obsessed with something that irrationally remind her of something she lost traumatically. eggs are one of her “only pleasures”, but probably couldn’t explain why. this also ties into her delusions, but i decided to separate the bullets anyways.
obsessive, agressive, or territorial over interests: we see this when she slaps mr figurelli over a plate of eggs for no apparent reason. unlike regular autistic hyperfixations, schizophrenia related/induced interests last longer and can lead to someone feeling lost, angry, or depressed when they go away. (we see this in “offensiveness” when there’s a prohibition placed on eggs, she gets really sad because they’re one of the only things that bring her true joy; even though she was given cesarean-born eggs, they aren’t the same as naturally passed eggs in her mind.) her HEAVY obsession with eggs was likely started in childhood and persisted into adulthood.
social avoidance: she isolates herself because she sees herself as better than others. (false belief of superiority is also a schizophrenia characteristic) her lack of eggs caused her to deem herself “immaculate” and free from original sin (as seen in “alone”). she bans and protests things, not only to overcompensate for what she’s lost, but so she doesn’t make real connections with the townsfolk. she secures her place as a sovereign by refusing connection to society and sharing common interests with people. she stays away from commonly enjoyed things (like movies and books) so that she doesn’t fall into line with other people she deems inferior to her, ultimately disrupting her goals (as she believes). she also avoids connections with people who wouldn’t bring her closer to her goal of becoming mayor.
compulsive behavior: she only lets her mom call her at 9pm every night, she will avoid and ignore her persistent calls until the time comes. she will not answer the phone from her mother at ANY other time.
depression: her apartment is MINIMALLY decorated, some of her time is consumed by speaking with someone who ABUSED her (her mother), so that would be a valid factor to her being depressed.

okay putting my guess out there now:
"In the City Market is the Meet Café. Followers of obsolete, unthinkable trades doodling in Etruscan, addicts of drugs not yet synthesized, pushers of souped-up harmine, junk reduced to pure habit offering precarious vegetable serenity, liquids to induce Latah, Tithonian longevity serums, black marketeers of World War III, excusers of telepathic sensitivity, osteopaths of the spirit, investigators of infractions denounced by bland paranoid chess players, servers of fragmentary warrants taken down in hebephrenic shorthand charging unspeakable mutilations of the spirit, bureaucrats of spectral departments, officials of unconstituted police states, a Lesbian dwarf who has perfected operation Bang-utot, the lung erection that strangles a sleeping enemy, sellers of orgone tanks and relaxing machines, brokers of exquisite dreams and memories tested on the sensitized cells of junk sickness and bartered for raw materials of the will, doctors skilled in the treatment of diseases dormant in the black dust of ruined cities, gathering virulence in the white blood of eyeless worms feeling slowly to the surface and the human host, maladies of the ocean floor and the stratosphere, maladies of the laboratory and atomic war... A place where the unknown past and the emergent future meet in a vibrating soundless hum... Larval entities waiting for a Live One...”

Kazuki Tomokawa — Kazuki Tomokawa 1975–1977 (Blank Forms Editions)
Tumblr media
"Protest, Age 23" on SoundCloud
Emerging in the early 1970's as one of most important and polarizing figures in Japan's musical underground, Kazuki Tomokawa brought a desperately existential vitality to the burgeoning Tokyo folk scene, something he however never really felt himself truly a part of. Though not exactly a household name to many listeners outside of Japan, Blank Forms Editions hope to rectify this situation somewhat with the three-CD box set Kazuki Tomokawa 1975–1977. The set documents Tomokawa's first three LPs, all originally released on the Tokyo Harvest Records label. The collection of interviews also published by Blank Forms Editions, Try Saying You’re Alive!: Kazuki Tomokawa in His Own Words, gives valuable background information to the screaming philosopher's thoughts on music, as well as his activities as a painter, poet, construction worker, basketball coach, keirin track bike racing enthusiast, actor, radio disc jockey, TV host, pachinko parlor denizen, cook and all-around bon vivant.
Referring to himself as a “part-time singer” is just one of the instances in these interviews in which Tomokawa oscillates between total self-deprecation and utterly shameless boasting, sometimes in the same breath. But however he wants to characterize himself, the fact remains that even as a part-time activity, Tomkawa's singing easily inhabits the realm of absolutely bone-chilling, eviscerating emotion. To wit, “The Flower of Youth,” the opening track on his debut album Finally, His First Album, documents the then- 25-year-old's defiant scream into a black void. Sung against a simple two-chord guitar pattern that would not sound out of place on a Daniel Johnston record, Tomokawa sets the stage for all his work to come, shrieking out a litany of declarations against himself and God:
In that tiny room in Kawasaki Kawasaki Sharpening a knife Sharpening a knife in the early morning Ain’t that me? Slicing up your dreams just because you’re tired Dicing yourself up just because you’re frustrated But you can’t even kill a single cockroach! Go ahead and do it, kill if you can kill! Go ahead and do it, kill if you can kill!
The rest of Finally, His First Album navigates its way through elegiac folk rock (“Soul”), full-blown blues rockers (“Protest, Age 23”), hebephrenic screes (“Phone Call”), ghostly 3/4 ballads (“Grave”), traditional-sounding Japanese numbers (“An Akita Folksong Run Amok”) and sweet folk crooning (“Yumiko's Spring”). This inventory of styles might seem like a splattershot approach, but, across all these jarring musical detours, Tomokawa's fantastically evocative singing ties everything seamlessly together. One could easily place these recordings in the realm of ancient Greek poetry as sung by the bards. A sense of pathos suffuses each track on this LP. However, one gets the feeling at times that Tomokawa might not be that particular about the setting for his voice and lyrics, even though he always seems able to adapt to whatever his producer and band throw at him in the way of accompaniment. And he does so with unabashed aplomb on each track, easily surpassing any reservations one might have about the record’s smorgasbord of styles.
Including a photo of his late grandfather with the liner notes, Tomokawa's second release Straight from the Throat opens in a similar manner to his debut: the track “Grandpa” sets alternating exposed-nerve singing and banshee falsetto cries against repetitive acoustic guitar and, later in the track, an avalanche of cataclysmic drum set accompaniment from Tomokawa's long-time drummer, friend and musical inspiration, Toshio Ogiwara. Calling this track visionary would be a gross understatement. It foreshadows by decades the ideas of Freak Folk and New Weird America, but with the addition of Tomokawa's absolutely blood-chilling vocalizations. Segueing into the next track “Goddamn Winter,” the listener might get the idea they've just passed through some alternate reality portal, as the mood shifts radically into something like a folk ballad with wistful Roy Bittan electric piano flourishes. Still, it’s just great.
Straight from the Throat proceeds in a similar fashion to the first LP, ricocheting from musical style to style with little regard for sense of direction, other than the consistently mind-shattering singing and devastating lyrics:
I can see sorrow from up on the footbridge A salesman-type walks by Wiping the sweat from his brow Inside its cage, a bird thrashed wildly till it died Wilted, drooping red chili blossoms I can see sorrow from up on the footbridge I don’t want to die I don’t want to die, I don’t Maybe songs are a kind of cage
With the track “Don’t Kill the Sea Lions,” Tomokawa even scored something of a hit, taking a detour from his existential rumblings by evoking the angst of these suffering animals and the coarse indifference of people to their environment:
Bored housewives glancing at the tube Dying to find out how many they killed today The men can’t raise their faces to look up higher than they are tall While the children’s faces turned the color of concrete A dream is the dream of a dream dream dream . . . . . . Don’t kill the sea lions Don’t kill the sea lions We’re all sea lions Don’t shoot! Hey, don’t shoot! Stop, hey, don’t shoot me! You there! Don’t shoot me!
Uncannily enough, some of this record's text evokes Springsteen's lyrical turn on “Born to Run”, released just one year earlier. See “Cars–A Poem for My Little Borther”; here Tomokawa reveals a sharp eye for life's more banal details as a tableau vivant of intense passion (and we should bear in mind that Tomokawa’s brother was a suicide):
The young cars howled through the vastness At blistering speed A police car following hot on their tail Ready with a mountain of complaints A hearse drove by: Forget all that and return everything to the soil
Straight from the Throat closes out with “Stone,” a kind of nod at things to come with blanketing keyboard banks, something approaching a severely detuned West Coast whistle synth and spoken text—as if Dr. Dre and Brian Eno found themselves in the studio together when Tomokawa happened to be passing by, and they yanked him in.
The third CD of this box set, A String of Paper Cranes Clenched between My Teeth, starts with a vaguely New Wave atmosphere of keyboard synths and punctuating drum accents before, depressingly enough, collapsing into a Classic-Rock-à-la-David-Gilmour wailing guitar solo. Mercifully, Tomokawa has not attempted to add anything to this track. But he kicks back in on the second piece, “Try Saying You're Alive.” The song pretty much sums up what Tomokawa is all about, as he demolishes his guitar and cries out in a nerve-on-edge, quivering voice:
This world is no slaughterhouse! So why all the anguished melodrama? This loneliness, kindness, suffering and pain You’re no cripple! So why are you dabbling in the joy of sorrow? Hippy vagabond beggar child You call that life? Try saying you’re alive! Try saying you’re alive! Try saying you’re alive!
It just doesn't get any better than this. The intensity, the sheer desperation, reaching for straws in the eternal darkness. And then, another rollercoaster ride, skidding into the third piece, “Kill or Be Killed.” It’s tender and sweet, a soothing respite from the previous track. Tomokawa seems to inhabit a Jekyll-and-Hyde world. Either it's a glorious summer day or he’s going through a nervous breakdown. And the middle ground is a wasteland of jarred emotions played out across a vicious hangover, and the sense that at any moment we could die an incredibly torturous death.
A String of Paper Cranes Clenched between My Teeth conjures up a potpourri of styles as in Tomokawa's first two LP's, though by this time one gets the impression that perhaps he's lost some interest in the whole studio process. His band and the overall production seem more in the forefront than on the first two LPs, and, quite frankly, some of the musical decisions are less than fortunate. Like the last track of the record, “Missed My Time to Die,” blends what could be a demented Klezmer melody line with some absolutely cheesy funk guitar strumming. Still, time and time again, Tomokawa manages to surmount all these musical obstacles with absolutely compelling vocals and powerful lyrics:
Long lines snake Through town again today Give me your sadness Give me your sadness The women stand in line I can’t walk sober And I can’t walk drunk The gaggle of skulls is weeping And glaring at me Hey! Got a problem?
Tomokawa went on to record another 30-odd records after the first three documented here. He enjoyed something of a resurgence in the 1990s with his recordings for the Tokyo PSF label, also known for the work of Fushitsusha, Keiji Haino and High Rise. In his introduction to Tomakawa's collection of interviews, Try Saying You're Alive! Damon Krukowski notes, it's “not always the meaning of the words that gets a song across. Great singers always communicate, regardless.” And indeed, whether one is fluent in Japanese or can't understand one single word of it, the voice of Kazuki Tomokawa will fill you with a lust for life and a deep compassion for all sentient beings around us. These are exceptional qualities we could use now more than ever. So, yes: Try Saying You’re Alive!

Aber it is what it is i guess.
Falls noch was wissen willst, hau raus. Glaube weiß über kein Thema mehr als das hhahaha

Trapdoors are hebephrenic and associated with the color silver for witches for a variety of reasons. Hebephrenia is a type of schizophrenia characterized by shallow and inappropriate emotional responses, as well as disorganized and bizarre behavior, delusions, and hallucinations. Similarly, trapdoors evoke a sense of confusion and unpredictability, as they can open and close unexpectedly, leading to a disorienting experience.
One possible reason for the association between trapdoors and hebephrenia is their resemblance to traditional witchcraft practices. In many cultures, witchcraft is associated with black magic and sinister rituals, often involving the use of doors or portals to access other realms or summon supernatural beings. The unpredictable and secretive nature of trapdoors mirrors the clandestine activities often associated with witches, adding to the eerie, otherworldly associations.
Furthermore, the color silver is often linked to magic and the divine in many cultures. Its metallic sheen and mystical properties make it an ideal color for witchcraft and sorcery. In addition, silver is often associated with the moon, a celestial body closely associated with witchcraft and the occult. The use of trapdoors, often made of metal and featuring silver hardware, further reinforces this connection to witchcraft and the supernatural.
In literature and popular culture, trapdoors are often used to symbolize hidden truths or psychological turmoil. In the case of hebephrenia, individuals may experience false beliefs or perceptions, commonly referred to as delusions and hallucinations. These delusions and hallucinations can manifest themselves as a disconnection from reality and a sense of confusion and chaos, much like the experience of a trapdoor opening and revealing something unexpected.
In conclusion, the association of trapdoors with hebephrenia and the color silver for witches can be attributed to their shared themes of unpredictability, secrecy, and mysticism. Through their use in cultural folklore and media, the connection between these elements has become deeply ingrained in our collective consciousness, solidifying their significance in our understanding of trapdoors and witchcraft.

A day late but what breadavota characters celebrate the yearly holiday 4/20
The Marginals don't like drugs and so everyone else wouldn't even know what drugs are because the Marginals would decimate any trace of them existing.
To clarify, the Marginals have no moral opposition to drugs per se, they just think 'altering' your thinking through means besides the Faculty Of Language is laughable and pathetic. You should only get high through the Time-honoured tradition of shitty hebephrenic poetry and verbally harassing each other for significant periods of Time without reprieve.

I've got this pink catboy who's also a femboy named Plink with schizophrenia (I'm writing a story), and I've decided what type(s) of schizophrenia he has. Schizophrenia with paranoia along with hebephrenic schizophrenia. Those two match his symptons which are hallucinations (sounds, actual things, touches, smells), delusions, 'irresponisble and unpredictable behaviour', pranks, giggling and health complaints and self isolation

Women: Characterised by Linguistics
Vagary, the journey of a woman. It’s a curse, a comfort, a constant feeling of required nepenthe. Centuries of sequenced palinoia returns in rounds to cicurate my consciousness, and so suddenly it becomes apparent that a promotion of equanimity is as senseless as it is ludicrous. I float in a state of dwale, induced by the hebephrenic onset of revelation and some unfound seed of munificence gifted by God. It may be in the name, but that doesn’t mean my sex should induce your aprosexia. I am not some euphuistic casuistry for your indignant thoughts. It is an insult to be treated as inanimate. Even promoted as a cinder slab, I am somehow still further from the subject of naology than the devil himself. My anatomy means it is certain that life is testudineous; I am filled to the tips of my fingers with agowilt. It seems as though I am mute and some non-corporeal being is stretching a hand out covered in braille. Louring in the shadow of the solecism present in the pronunciation of ‘she’ as a noun, capernoited by these malignant venters that approach my feet. They effleurage my lips as though to distract me from your scurrilous persona. Your raffish grace, you balter with my saudade until it’s quivering at the yearn for some concupiscible accentuation on your tongue. Meritless and tawdry, there is an inclination of false alpas in your touch and it is glistening. It is breathless as I flit from my cradle, as elderly and demure as I’ll ever be. I touch the ground for the first and last time, untethered in this ‘holy’ demarcation.
