censordoll has hebephrenic schizophrenia (headcanon) with explanation

(apologies for this, not only is psychology my special interest, but i LOVE censordoll… so it all works out)

to start, the hebephrenic category of schizophrenia is characterized by disorganized behavior/speech, shallow or inappropriate emotional responses (could also be called mood incongruence), hallucinations, and delusions.

the diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia is to have at least two of these things:

delusions (strong, inexplicable beliefs that are irrational in nature)

hallucinations (when your body or mind perceives something that is not really there)

thought disorders (patterns of thought that cannot be explained with reasoning or senses)

she also has other schizophrenia characteristics, such as:

social avoidance

false belief of superiority

religious delusion

compulsive behavior

irrational/aggressive behavior

depression

being consumed/territorial over interests

now that i have that out of the way, let me explain why she fits into this category.

delusions: believing she is the matriarch, narcissism due to her self-imposed isolation, belief that she is better than others due to her lack of eggs, and being free from original sin. (false belief of superiority) she views herself on the same morality, power level, and deserving of the same respect as the lord, along with believing that she is more qualified to sermonize over moralton than reverend putty. she also displays hyperreligiosity. when she protests, she claims that picketing and protesting is doing “god’s work” (religious delusion) and even if the delusion is right, it becomes a delusion when they use illogical or unethical methods of explaining it.

thought disorders (illogical/irrational thinking): eggs = her removed ovaries. she is obsessed with something that irrationally remind her of something she lost traumatically. eggs are one of her “only pleasures”, but probably couldn’t explain why. this also ties into her delusions, but i decided to separate the bullets anyways.

obsessive, agressive, or territorial over interests: we see this when she slaps mr figurelli over a plate of eggs for no apparent reason. unlike regular autistic hyperfixations, schizophrenia related/induced interests last longer and can lead to someone feeling lost, angry, or depressed when they go away. (we see this in “offensiveness” when there’s a prohibition placed on eggs, she gets really sad because they’re one of the only things that bring her true joy; even though she was given cesarean-born eggs, they aren’t the same as naturally passed eggs in her mind.) her HEAVY obsession with eggs was likely started in childhood and persisted into adulthood.

social avoidance: she isolates herself because she sees herself as better than others. (false belief of superiority is also a schizophrenia characteristic) her lack of eggs caused her to deem herself “immaculate” and free from original sin (as seen in “alone”). she bans and protests things, not only to overcompensate for what she’s lost, but so she doesn’t make real connections with the townsfolk. she secures her place as a sovereign by refusing connection to society and sharing common interests with people. she stays away from commonly enjoyed things (like movies and books) so that she doesn’t fall into line with other people she deems inferior to her, ultimately disrupting her goals (as she believes). she also avoids connections with people who wouldn’t bring her closer to her goal of becoming mayor.

compulsive behavior: she only lets her mom call her at 9pm every night, she will avoid and ignore her persistent calls until the time comes. she will not answer the phone from her mother at ANY other time.

depression: her apartment is MINIMALLY decorated, some of her time is consumed by speaking with someone who ABUSED her (her mother), so that would be a valid factor to her being depressed.

Hace poco tuve la Epifanía de que Censordoll debería tener un nidoqueen, pokemon basados en conejos que una vez que evolucionan no pueden tener huevos, (bastante irónico) lo cual le queda mucho a su personaje y tengo el headcanon que su primer pokemon fue un oddish varicolor entonces oddish podría ser su pokemon favorito.

5AM headcanons as I slowly get back into Moral-ing

- idk how much from Narcissism the fandom accepts, but it does make me categorize Bloberta as the “prettiest” / most desired woman in moralton based on the fact that she made Putty climax with words alone.

- As goofy as that is it also re-contextualizes a lot. She is “off limits” even in infidelity because she’s the mayor’s wife.

- I also think if Dottie tried her routine on Bloberta, Dottie would end up crying wayyyyyy earlier. Bloberta’s numbness includes an immunity to gaslighting. Also there is one element that actually connects the 2 characters that I wanna draw. Here’s a different scene for now:

Dottie: Can I sit with you Bloberta so our kids can talk to each other and not us?

Bloberta: … you talk to your kids?

Dottie nervously lights a cigarette.

Dottie: I- uh, well I mean-

Bloberta puts out the cigarette by clasping the end with her bare fingers.

Bloberta: If you’re going to do that, I think you should sit somewhere else.

- Blobbie / Censordoll discourse is also interesting bc I think of it as “numb & barren” (ship name maybe?) - things kinda also come full circle. In Help: Bloberta fails to help Fran, feels like she helped Clay and marries him, Orel is born and goes on to be Fran’s main helper in her campaign against Clay, with signs made by Bloberta.

- Gay Clay vs. Bi Clay was a debate brought up in one of my streams and I said my answer keeps changing. There are “tactile” arguments for Bi Clay but they all really start to evaporate for me with the scene in honor. There is no exact science, it is just a uniquely gay anguish confessed. alsogayclayrhymes

- I think about Clay’s rise to office a lot and what exactly enabled him to do so, and I’m beginning to think he may have used his mother’s death in his campaign as he starts to pen her lost commandments into Moralton law. Much to Arthur’s dismay, which only encourages Clay to take things further.

- A newer idea but I feel like Danielle’s experience encouraging Orel might have kindled something, and if Fakey can go from coach to Principal so can Danielle.

- I think now that Bendy is reconnected with Joe, the Fakey situation will actually quickly lead to a restraining order. Since Bendy no longer has to telephone through Ms. Secondopinionson to talk to Joe, Fakey talks to Secondopinionson for updates on Bendy. I think Fakey’s mental state will decline between his ruined marriage and “mistress” cut off, but for some reason I think with Secondopinionson’s infinite patience she becomes a sort of friend + makeshift repressional since Putty’s having none of it anymore. In that circumstance I think Secondopinionson becomes comfortable speaking to him in her natural voice . I think Fakey loses his job to Danielle like above, then idk, gets part time work at Steph’s shop or something.

- The David Tuber interview mentioned that Orel goes goth but also goes atheist, and the blue heron as a symbol of his faith begins to follow him around. I think the “Nature rematch” would be Orel getting Ol’ Gunny with actual intent to kill the Heron.

- Which brings me to the tinfoil hat section. Consider this my “Season 4+”

- By this time Censordoll has a stranglehold on Moralton. With no role models and in complete nihilism Orel kills the Heron in anger. In absolute darkness Orel finds no solace, he then notices the Heron’s nest.

- I have no idea what Steven Universe / Demon Slayer script we’ll need to get to this point but I really think that if Censordoll is the “final boss” of Moralton it should end with her and Orel nurturing the blue heron egg until it hatches, roll credits.

Francis Clara Censordoll is my fav character idec anymore

I'm gonna be so honest; I love Ms. Censordoll. I've been thinking about this ever since I watched s3e3 "Alone", and she seems like such an interesting character to analyze and interpret. I want to see how she came to be so religiously corrupt, and how that affects her mentally. I've heard that it's because her mother herself was a r@pe victim, and thought that Ms. Censordoll was going to be the next god, and that was why she had her daughter's ovaries and reproductive system removed, which does make sense. She lost her own choice to become a mother, and turned down a road of corruptivity and dragged down everybody with her because it was what she thought the right thing to do was. Though, I've also heard a theory that she was amab (assigned male at birth) and had her eggs removed because of that reason? Like the doctors hadn't seen any breasts developing since she was an infant, her mom decided to raise her as a boy and the next god. Which makes a bit less sense, but still a credible headcanon/fanon theory that I find fascinating. If the show hadn't been canceled, I feel like we would've gotten so many more answers, and I'm honestly sad that the show and is creators never got to bring other characters' stories in that episode like Nurse Bendy and Ms. Sculptham to full fruition, and we lost that opportunity to Adult Swim and time. Either way, I feel so captivated to her character for many more reasons. How did she find out her eggs were removed? Did her mother tell her? Does her mom feel guilty because of it? Is that why she's so overprotective? And Ms. Censordoll's obsession with eggs makes me feel so bad for her. She yearns for something she knows she doesn't and will never have, wishing she could've stopped her mom somehow and had her own decisions and been able to live her life like she wanted to. She had that taken away from her, and she still can't grasp it, eating nothing but eggs and praying that it'll somehow restore her own. I wonder if she truly feels the way she acts. If she has a god complex because of her mom, then is there still a piece of her who breaks down in the middle of the night because she's so tired of lying to herself and becoming a worse and worse person with every breath she takes, but goes on because she's simply too far gone? How does she feel mentally and physically about her body and her relationship with her mother? The few seconds that she had in that last episode where she just took an egg and placed it near where hers should've been and lied down on her bed in her likely one-room apartment hurt me and impacted me the most during her bit in the episode.

Her character breaks my heart, and I really wish we could've seen more of her.

So because I’m mentally ill I only have Things to say about these

To avoid confusion I’m gonna add that OP is an animator who made/helped make these. She said in response to a question asking Orel made these when he wouldn’t know of most of these events: “The idea behind it was that Orel watched the episode and interpreted it the way a naive child would. Kinda a 4th wall breaking like when Orel hosted the shows marathon on Adult Swim.” For this reason I interpret it as a gray area in canon: Orel never actually made these but they’re available for interpretation of how Orel sees/would see things.

I think these continue the trend most explicit in Orel’s Movie Premiere of depicting Moralton as much more pleasant than it actually is. On top of the glorification of Doctor Quackerswheel the end of Numb just isn’t present here, Nurse Bendy opens the door for Sculptham and Censordoll in the Alone, and Kim seems legitimately into Stephanie to some extent in this Closeface?

I used to think of the occasional fanon thing of Orel seeing Bloberta as more of an innocent victim was simple headcanon, but the way she’s depicted in numb and help gives this hc some basis. Then again maybe this could be considered another gray area between canon and fanon since these are just an animator’s take and in the actual show she’s straight up depicted as a broom by Orel (which itself I actually think is very fitting and worth talking about a bit)

I really wonder about censordoll in these in terms of what was planned for her arc.

Clay is only depicted as a human being in this version of Help. This is depressing. Slightly silly but mostly depressing that Orel would probably think the reason Clay acts so dramatically different from Bloberta when both drink is because he’s drinking some other shit.

im confused

so im not one so bash other people’s headcanons, but i genuinely dont understand why people headcanon clay as bisexual. he hasnt shown ANY attraction to women in the entire show, he got married to bloberta because she manipulated him, miss censordoll also manipulated him. clay has only shown attraction towards danielle.. im not sure if its been confirmed that clay is bi, but if he has then yeah im fine with him being bisexual, theres no problem with that. just confused why a lot of people see him as being bi even though the proof of him most likely being gay is right there.

A random headcanon: Her and Joe have outings all the time!! In the background of the series finale you can see them Ice Skating together and I like to think they do things like that all the time!! Trying to catch up on years they've missed.

General Opinion over said character: I love her so much!! Her and Joe actually remind me of me and my mom so im definitely bias, like not everything's perfect but they're trying! And it's sweet to see. Like with most Moral Orel character's we were robbed of seeing more of her, and seeing her grow. (Explodes Adult Swim with my mind.) But I enjoy her character regardless. And like with Censordoll, her story has aged incredibly well, and is a story that still needs to be told today, she is an amazing mother and I care her.
