Great question!

I don't know that they'd have anything exactly like Christmas in the Fire Nation, although I like to think maybe a solstice can be a stand in for such a holiday. Even so, it wouldn't be Kazuo's favorite.

I think Kazuo's favorite holiday is something akin to the Heiva festival celebrated in Polynesia, so I'll just call it that. The Heiva is weeks long celebration of island life full of dancing, physical competition (think island style olympic games), and fire walking. In the ATLA world I think it started as a celebration after surviving a particularly damagin hurricane. A holiday involving competition instead of gift giving/lack of ability to give or receive gifts would have appealed to him more particularly as a young man. He still likes to time his visits home to align with the Heiva.

He loved competing in the rowing events especially.

As a multi-shipper it has become so that I ship my own characters like crazy. I even give them ship songs, which I will include in this solely because I can lol (and to give the general vibe of the ship). I may have the power to make whatever I want canon, but I won't because shipping is too fun, more so when you don't have to worry about canon lol.
