Hey ho, so here’s the sketches of some of my ocs! I didn’t colour so I could let you guys see what they look like, but I will list where they come from!

Starting with the Original Original Characters - Odessa and the Disaster Sisters! Odessa is the character I mostly insert into everything and the Disaster Sisters are a rework of a very old original universe of mine. I have a ton of ocs from there I need to rewrite and redesign and these three are the start!

So i notice the lack of gigant syringes on ur wasabi moth(i think thats what she was? Sorry if im wrong)

And insted she had a big nail and 2 smaller ones and this is where my idea comes in

What if they where full of life blood? Or atleast the big one was? Ether taken from others or about to be injected into em it could be like a wasp/mosquito stinger/nose (not a bee one tho you know how it ussualy ends when they Sting somthing) and the small ones where like doctor tools she used to open bugs and studdy the efects of life blood on em? Or maybe smaller syringes she uses to mesure the amount of life blood she injects into bugs? (Also when you mention that mustard coule be like a npc i thought of wasabi being a boss that just blastes you with life blood like she has a god damn lázer beam wepon)

Also i think it would be cool if she had a lifeseed that was bassycaly her wasabi pet in this au but just like its pet its all messd with and fucked up so insted of small baby its a huge lifeblood spitting beast like the god tamers beast!

hmm, for the ask meme: The Hollow Knight, The Last Stag, Relic Seeker, Soul Master

The Hollow Knight: What was the saddest part of the game for you? Which ending is the most sad to you?

Honestly I feel like more than specific reveals in the game, a lot of the most brutal things that have hit me about the game are moments of not-necessarily-linear realization? So the two examples that come to mind are first discovering the memorial fountain in the City and the Birthplace cutscene. They both carry this kind of… this sinking sense of “oh,” and I think there’s something poignant to how Ghost is someone deprived of a lot of avenues to express their grief, but, they’ve suffered some of the most out of a cast of characters who’ve all had harsh lives, really.

Spared, but not spared; cast aside, rejected, but, ironically, protected in a way, but at a cost that they would have never accepted if they’d had any say in the matter. Surviving, not really out of spite or a specific thesis, but the sort of feeling that they just have too many regrets to die, and those keep tugging on them even when they don’t remember why.

As far as saddest endings, Sealed Siblings absolutely tops The Hollow Knight. I think this is something you and I have actually discussed in private messaging- the idea that Hornet actually builds up her hopes enough to risk her life on Ghost being able to stop the plague, and ultimately, the best she and they can do, together, is just perpetuation. 

It kind of breaks a bunch of people’s hopes all in one go- Herrah’s dying wish for her daughter to survive, Ghost’s desire to save their sibling, Hornet’s desire to not merely be an agent in Hallownest’s further stagnation.

And the real freaking kicker is I don’t have that achievement yet, so while I know about it, I’m going to get to actually live that. Oh boy.

The Last Stag: What area of the game do you visit the most?

I hit Dirtmouth a lot, honestly. Dirtmouth and the City of Tears, because they’re an easy way around and because once the Crossroads turns I don’t really like dawdling around there (call me the protagonist of The Tell-Tale Heart but I do not like hearing the infection pulsing any more than I absolutely have to)

Resting Grounds would be a fantastic chill-out place and I always like to slow down and smell the roses when I’m around the blue lake but ultimately it doesn’t beat Dirtmouth, because, ultimately, this game has gone and gotten me extremely emotionally attached to the NPCs so even if I can no longer mine them for new dialogue or buy new items from them I just. wanna go back and hang out with Sly and Iselda and Zote and Elderbug. Everybody talks up all the dads in this game but Grandpa’s been rooting for us since our first NPC conversation. He isn’t even sure what we’re doing but this man deserves his damn flower, and, also, as much basically unjustified town-dawdling as I give him.

Relic Seeker Lemm: Favorite piece of lore? Favorite theory?

Honestly it tends to vary wildly based on whatever catches my fancy because HK writes lore in a way that I’m just tearing around like a wildly overstimulated child in a candy store. Like right now I’m freaking the hell out about Deepnest and the Weavers in anticipation of Silksong.

Likewise, a lot of my really excited theories are Silksong-related just because that’s where the cool new business is. If I had to pick something related to the base game I do really like the, “NKG and Radiance were siblings” theory since I have, in fact, wrote fic for it. I also like the idea that much of the caverns that construe Hallownest were originally carved by water and void during a past pelagic age until the Abyss slowly retreated downwards, leaving all those ammonite shells we see as a predominant motif.

…It’s not exactly lore necessarily but I like the stone journals, especially the saying Lemm cites that apparently beating the fuck out of things with the Power of the Written Word is a documented and recommended occurrence. I’m a little sad, actually, that we don’t have an in-game opportunity to take that for a spin ourselves. I know at least one wild son of a gun in HK’s playthrough community would post a video of themselves beating Absolute Radiance by hitting her with a book.

Soul Master: What part of the game do you find most dark or mysterious?

See the really good thing about HK is it’s gothic as fuck but it’s got basically every different flavor of horror you wanna whet your appetite on. You’ve got the “isolated in dangerous wilderness, only for the seeming bastion of civilization to prove about to feed you to the beasts” of Deepnest, you’ve got the good old Things Man Should Not Have Tampered With erudite horror of the Soul Sanctum, you’ve got the Ancient Blood Sins Black Magic vibe of the Abyss and what PK did down there, or the cold, scientific, medical horror of the White Palace, you’ve got that quiet but powerful sense of just-edge-of-terror awe that comes over you in Hallownest’s Crown where nothing jumps out at you but you’re sure in the presence of something, and then you’ve got the oh-my-fucking-god-this-is-happening moment when you stop and realize that the “rising sun” in the Dreamers’ realms and then ultimately in Hollow’s mind really shouldn’t be there at all because this is a sunless world, and then that “sun” spreads her wings and descends to death laser your face.

No matter how smart you are by the time you face Radiance, there’s just this certain uncut “oh shit” when she makes herself clear, especially since you’ve been technically seeing her since you faced your second dreamer.

It’s like a lovely tasting platter of mystery and horror. It’s got everything, really. At this point, the biggest mystery is things like the Weaver’s Den and Jinn’s Masters, things that feel like they’re actively pointing us towards Silksong and what it’s going to mean.

what made you decide to play sealand over a different nation?

have you ever had the experience of looking through fanart of a character, one who you dont even necessarily care about or like that much, but some of the pictures just… hit to key for reasons you can’t even really articulate, they just give off a certain vibe or aesthetic or something idk, aura of the character & and in a burst of inspiration you suddenly adore & completely understand their entire Concept in a way that’s hard to explain but like you Feel It Though. 

that’s what happened to me with sea !  i just tripped and fell on my ass and was like “god dammit i guess i love sealand now.  fck”

he actually wasn’t my first blog, i started with hong kong, and ive also played japan, but he steadily became the character im most passionate about 

as for why i started to retire my other muses one by one until i only have sea and ladonia now, it’s a combination of Severe Anxiety regarding portraying a real culture (even if i research a lot, and talk to people from that place who are kind enough to give me pointers, which i was able to do with hk which Ruled, the feeling never went away)

and more importantly micronations are fun as hell and just so odd and entertaining to play because there’s so much cool weird shit about them.  they’re all incredibly vibrant and strange!  like a lot of them are so wack that sealand is completely normal by comparison.  and building a character out of that, and trying to convey that character to people, and trying to get people to understand them, is An Experience. 

and as a micro rper, i promise u, the experience of finding someone *else* who *also* plays micronations is so exciting that it borders on being a parallel for the bond they have with each other just by virtue of what they are, that they’ll inevitably struggle with making w actual nations, again, just bc of What they are

i’m pretty sure this ask was sent bc of my tags on that insecurity post from last night-- that i admit i have a bit of a complex about approaching people, bc i try to be humble / realistic that micronations probably aren’t thaaat high on most people’s priority list of characters they eagerly want to write with.  it’s possible, but i don’t want to assume, u kno?

and i dont want to make anyone feel obligated just bc i approached them, so i kind of waffle on whether i should reply to someone’s open, send something from a starter meme, etc.

this is VERY MUCH a case of complaining about problems i specifically personally caused for myself tho.  and i don’t even really mean to complain, so much as just explain why i hesitate sometimes & that i’m trying to work thru it anyway!  and it’s EXTRA kinda my own fault, bc not only do i main micronations exclusively now, but i chose the two MOST overbearing in-your-face jackasses available.  because OF COURSE i would.  

ANYWAY I HOPE THIS SUFFICIENTLY EXPLAINS IT 

and while i’m here on my hill:  i’m totally of the opinion that most hws rpers should Try writing a micronation at least Once-- even if it’s just for like, a week or two, just to know what it’s like trying to develop them into rounded characters from not much at all, really.  also, ive had experience with both types of characters and, with my hand to god, i swear it really changes the way you interact w other characters & the way they interact with yours in return. 

and its FASCINATING to watch people play them for the first time, and talking with them about it as they go is extremely fun. i’m biased, of course-- i think it’s impossible not to be, when you’re invested in your character and the groups they belong to.  but still !

i added revan as a test muse too, but i doubt i’ll do much with them until i finish kotor 2 - if i do anything with them before then, it’ll probably be set during the events of kotor, pre-leviathan. i have a lot of thoughts about revan but i’d prefer to wait until i’ve got all of the info about them from kotor 2 before i commit

i wouldn’t be surprised if i end up adding the exile, juhani & maybe hk, jolee & carth too because i really love them a lot, but we’ll see

Ghost: Why did you decide to play Hollow Knight?

My family was actually looking for a new game for my dad to play, and my sister showed all of us a trailer for this game we’d never heard of that seemed interesting.

I recall vividly that it took me a while to process that the “little player guy” was bug-themed- my first impression of Ghost was that they looked a bit like a tooth, and a bit like some kind of grim reaper.

Hornet: Favorite boss battle? Most difficult boss?

As far as most difficult- I’ve not yet challenged Radiance in any form, or NKG, but I have fought Grimm and…. not prevailed, yet. It’s been quite some time since I tried since I keep getting distracted with other things and then starting over my playthrough.

Honestly, there’s a lot of the bosses that are really good. The buildup to the Hollow Knight fight is extremely cinematic and emotionally evocative. I like Soul Master’s second-stage fakeout because it’s such a nice piece of horror, especially when you can listen to the second part battle theme in isolation and hear all those voices… chattering? Sobbing? Laughing? 

Or the way Hornet challenging you at the cast-off shell, and the wind changes directions and picks up intensity behind her.

Really there’s a thousand and one cool moments in HK. Even bosses I don’t really care for have something to them, I think.

Quirrel: What was your favorite thing to discover for the first time?

Honestly, this was really early on but- when I first got the game, I spent a decent while meandering around the Crossroads unsure of how to proceed, so, when I actually got into Greenpath, I remember being really struck by it, just how pretty it was, and how much of a change from the first area, and the music- and then there was Hornet! An NPC who wouldn’t just sit there and be talked to, but actually seemed to be running ahead of us, I wanted to catch up to her so badly.

And, then, well, she kicked my butt, which gave me a real nice heart attack the first time I got to City of Tears and ran into her there, too.

Again, this is something I could answer about a lot of the game. I think the biggest appeal of HK is how, in-universe and out, it doesn’t deride you or dismiss your personal experience, but, it asks of you to be a witness to things, even as you act on them- this sense that the world’s not just exclusively here for your enjoyment but a grand thing, even in its decay, that you are merely looking on a fragment of. It’s a world that wraps the senses, that you can imagine running your fingers through its loose and dusty earth. For a game that challenges you rather harshly at times, it has a lovely feeling to it.

Elder Bug: Do you stop to talk to all the NPCs? Who is your favorite?

I want you to know that upon discovering the Fluke Hermit was added to the game via a height chart of all things, I furiously wiki’d her position and then fired up my copy of the game and busted out there to go talk to her knowing full well she wasn’t a ‘service’ NPC in any fashion.

Entirely outside of “I am a glutton for lore”, HK is... kind of a beautifully lonely world. Regardless of how I feel about the NPC, I always feel sad if I get to a point where they leave or die.

Tiso: Which NPC would you most like to fight? Why?

Honestly? I don’t really hate any one of the NPCs, but I think for those of them who are combat-capable, a friendly in-game duel would be really neat. Not as in “I want to punch them” but more... it’d be fun to see what their moveset would look like right? With Hornet as the protagonist of the next game, I keep wondering if somehow we’re ever going to get Ghost as a boss enemy- how the AI would control them compared to how we do.

About the only people I wouldn’t want to fight are characters who themselves wouldn’t enjoy it- Cornifer suggests his ‘fighting style’ is just running, really, and Old Stag has enough aches and pains, he doesn’t deserve a brawl, he deserves a warm blanket and somewhere cozy.

I think if I had to pick a standout target I want the White Lady to kick my ass, just once. I know she’s capable of it, but her boss fight theme would be rad.

The Grey Mourner: Who would you give a delicate flower to, if you could?

My first reflex is ‘Hornet’ because of the sense that she’s sort of... had to grow up fast her entire life. She’s a fighter, and it’s definitely not entirely joyless- she takes a lot of pride in her skills and athleticism and I don’t think she’d be happy settling down, but, also, like... that can be balanced with the sense that she hasn’t really had a lot of time for herself.

On the other hand, though, as nice of a sentimental gesture as it’d be, it’d put sort of an awkward burden on her protecting the flower so it might be better to give her something else, instead- something she can take with her that is tough enough it can accompany her on her travels and not be something she has to worry about or plan around. Maybe a metal brooch in the flower shape?

As far as ‘a flower recipient who isn’t already a canonical one’, Marissa does have several rotting bouquets on her stage. It might be nice to kinda do what the Traitors’ Child’s grave does where you can overtake the stage with flowers that won’t decay on her.

Hive Knight: Are there any bosses you wish were friends instead of foes?

I’m not sure about ‘friends’, but, I would definitely relish the ability to talk to, almost any of them. I think in that regard it’d be interesting to talk to God Tamer.

As far as ‘kinda wish I didn’t kill them’, I feel really badly for the False Knight. They aren’t exactly a soft harmless baby, but the maggots really do have a raw deal, and having some way to acknowledge their existence besides murder would be nice.

Nosk: What part of the game scared or shocked you the first time you experienced it? Anything surprise you?

Well, this is an aptly titled option because Nosk themselves gave me a pretty good startle! Especially since I didn’t find them for a long time after I saw my doppelganger down in Deepnest’s tunnels, and at that point I was pretty freaked out.

Like I said in a previous ask, Hornet in City of Tears made me jump, even with the melancholy beauty of the scene- I was just going oh god oh no she’s about to kick my ass again.

The Deepnest trap bench I saw coming a mile off but I was still unprepared. That part where the screen goes dark and all you have are the noises... and before that, where you can thrash on the bench but it doesn’t do you any good.

So tl;dr thanks Deepnest.

I also wouldn’t call it “shocking” but the part in Trial of the Fool where the colosseum’s floor trap skewers several of its own warriors and the audience bursts into uproarious laughter that continues for a good while afterwards sticks with me. People talk about Lord Fool’s corpse on the throne a lot, but, honestly, it’s the living audience that creeps me out more than a little. Especially how you can find two of them in the Crossroads’ hot spring, suggesting they’ve just, got other lives and seem to actually be doing pretty well in spite of the plague. What do they get up to, besides bloodsports? Do they have deceptively ordinary lives somewhere? Do they think they’re good people and everything’s fine?
