Human shelter in an olive grove, Tarragona, Catalunya, Spain,

This is the first in a network of shelters in a protected area of olive groves. To avoid being detected, we have developed several camouflage strategies.

The walls are coloured with a mixture of lime, water and earth, and the openings are covered with metal sheets that imitate stone prints. The main chamber, just over 9 by 30 feet, expands through a series of underground galleries that serve as water, food, energy and waste storage.

You opened your eyes groggily at the sound, not being fully awake yet you almost fell asleep again before hearing something again.

“h’nxgt! hhgxnt!”

Oh. That’s what woke you up. Even though Nat was trying to make her sneezes as quiet as possible, it was really hard to do so when she was this sick. Your girlfriend came home that night complaining about her “allergies”, however, as her temperature rose there was no denying that she was coming down with a bad cold, so you both decided to go to bed earlier so she could try and sleep it off.

“Hhhxxnt! Heh’kshuu!” As the redhead’s sneezes became more desperate, it was obvious that the whole “sleeping it off” plan wasn’t working, so you decided to address the elephant in the room.

“Natty, are you alright darling?” You asked, turning on your bedside lamp and rolling over to face her.

Her hands were covering her face, and she was avoiding meeting your gaze.

“heh'eeshoo!! I’b fide hodey- h’nxgt! Hhk'kiktShIEw!” Her eyes widened after that last sneeze and you knew exactly what she needed. Wordlessly, you got up and brought her the tissue box that was in your en-suite bathroom.

She gave you a relieved look and blew her nose thickly, apologizing immediately about the situation.

“Y/N I’m so sorry, that was disgusting and-“

“It’s okay Nat, you’re sick and this happens sometimes. It’s not “disgusting”, it’s natural.” You said lovingly, grabbing the trashcan and placing it by her side of the bed so she could throw her tissues away.

“It’s just that…. I didn’t wanted you to see me this way.” She said, tears filling her eyes, that combined with the red flush on her cheeks warned you that she might have a fever.

You pressed the back of your hand to her forehead, confirming your suspicions.

“You’re so warm… stay put while I get the thermometer.” You did as you said, getting the device alongside some water, tylenol and a bottle of NyQuill.

Thankfully, Natasha didn’t put up a fight with you about having her temperature checked, and you both sat in silence while you waited for the verdict.

“39.2 Natty, that’s too high.” You sighed, pouring her a dose of the purple liquid.

She took the medicine and the pills without complaining, which proved that she was really out of it. Nat has always been stubborn about being cared for.

“H’iishoo! Heh’kshuu! Ugh! Sorry about being so gross.”

You grabbed her hands (making a mental note to wash them later) and made sure she was looking at you, she needed to hear this.

“Natasha, sweetie, love of my life, first of all bless you. Second is that you shouldn’t be embarrassed about it, this is okay, it happens to everyone. And even though you like to think that you are an invincible machine, you. are. human. and humans get sick sometimes. That’s why I’m here. To be with you no matter what. In sickness and health.”

Tears rolled down her cheeks, she’s never felt more loved. The way that you looked at her as if she was a runaway model even when she looked like a zombie made her know that she was safe with you.

“Isn’t that phrase for married couples?” She said, smiling even while crying.

“It is babe, ‘cause that’s what we’re going to be some day.” You said, hugging her and running your fingers through her hair.

“I love you Y/N, thank you for being here with me.”

“I’ll always be.”

hidey hodey neighborinoes i know i may or may not have disappeared for like half a fucking year but brain does what brain do. since i am now willing to admit that i likely will not find the motivation to write a full length fic like i would want, i wanted to post the “outline” (re: complete gibberish only past me could understand). at some point i’ll try to compile all the tidbits i had sprinkled across drafts and docs and try to clean it up a little but, well, im not even sure what i meant in some spots. hopefully ill pull the writers block out of my ass one day but until then, take this word vomit:

Riely hopped up off the couch jumping excitedly as he walked to the door expecting pizza, he opened it up not to pizza but onyx soaking wet "jeez!! What happens to you?!" "SnDfff!... Hhhh'TTsShhhyu!.... It raind, forgot mby umbrella n'mby k-keHHhys hE'TTtchEW!! SnDff!!" Riely lead onyx inside towards the bathroom "n'do... M'wet I'll fuck ub the carpet..." Wait... Why diddnt we use these tissues again? "HhEh!...hhHiH!" Ohhh right scente- "E'GTTSHhhYYEWWw!!!-ihHH'SSshhHHYYU! Oh mby g-goHHD!-TTSsshHHH!! snDdffk!! Ghhh" Onyx covered the fit into his hands he shivered looking around for something to clean up his mess "Bless you!!" Riely called out "Than'gks, Cad you get mbe sobe tissues please?" "Ok!!" Onyx sniffled clearing his throat and taking a piece of toilet paper off the roll to clean up with, rubbing agresivly at his nose with the tp before Riely grabbed his hands "hey, hey... Easy there hun be gentle" "bu'd it itches" onyx whined scrunching up his nose, "I know honey, here" Riely passed the tissues to onyx, onyx rubbed at his nose more gently this time blowing into the tissue, the buzzing returning as the congestion shifted in his scinuses "hhHihhh HHHhhIhH!.... Mmb.. snDff!! snFf! Ghhhnn" Onyx groaned the sneeze backing down, the itch still present tickling in the back of his nose, onyx struggled with false starts for another few minutes "H-hodey hhHehhlp please?... T-tihHHckles s-sDfF! GhhH H HIhhH!" Onyx pleaded "ok baby hang on um....." Riely looked around for something to help before landing on a bobby pin "aha! There we go! Maybe this will help?" Riely raised the bobby pin up and started teasing around onyx's nostrils "how's this?" "M-m'bore hHihhh! Higher? Mbaybe? S-snDf! S'teasig mbe.." Riely gently edged the tool deeper into onyx's nostril prodding around his inflamed scinuses onyx's chest jumping Riely mooved the tool closer to the edge before onyx's hand cought Riely's wrist "t-thHeHRE! A has had a nasty, snotty head cold for 2 weeks now and it just keeps getting worse!

They look like death warmed up: they have bags under their eyes from the lack of sleep, they look pale and just exhausted, their nostrils are bright red from all the wiping and the blowing, the tip of their nose and the part of skin over their upper lip are chapped and peeling because they have been using cheap and rough tissues, their lips are parted because the congestion forced them to breathe through their mouth.

They're so freaking congested that they can't even sneeze anymore!

Ugh, their nose is running again...

"How can my nose be so horribly plugged up AND runny at the same time?", they wonder while desperately wiping their streaming nose on the sleeve of their fluffy sweater, leaving a few strings of thick, yellow snot on it.

"Sssssnnrrrrkk", A scrunches their nose and tries to sniffle, but their sinuses are so clogged up that what comes out sounds more similar to a snort...

A winces at how sore their nose is from all the blowing, then they ask their partner (B): "Hodey, cad you pass be adother tissue? I deed to blow by dose agaid... sssssnnnrrrkk!!"

B nods their head and plucks a fresh tissue from a brand new tissue box and then they pass it to A, smiling sympathetically.

A wraps the tissue around their poor cold-ridden nose and starts to blow and blow very hard: unfortunately, they're so terribly bunged up that they only produce a loud honk and nothing comes out!

"Uuuuggh, I cad't get adythig out... I'b so codgested, guh..."

B's heart breaks when they see their poor partner feeling sooo sick and miserable, so they start stroking A's hair: "I know, babe...

That cold just won't leave you alone, huh?"

A nods and rests their sleepy, aching head on B's shoulder, wiping at their streaming nostrils with a crumpled tissue...

"I'b so tired of beig sick, hodey..." says A in a whiny voice, before letting out a hearty and sleepy-sounding yawn.

B sighs and keeps stroking A's hair lovingly...

"Come on, let's get you back to bed!

You sound like you need a nap, babe...

Do you want me to rub Vicks under your nose, sweetheart?"

"Yes, please... sssssnnnnnrrrkk!! guh..." whispers A.

"Will this never-ending cold ever go away?" They both wonder.

After Il Bauta's semi-failed revolution, Makina-Hiria still went through a dramatic overhaul nonetheless...

 The gang war came to an abrupt end with Hodei's assets being completely liquidated and losing everything while Bauta personally dealt with the Barbosa mob taking them out of the picture whilst exposing his Afons' identity. Both Stock and Viresa on the Admin board were killed and Gen only cares about his research while the security force under them as well the corrupt Ertzaintza both were all but dismantled or absorbed with turncoats like ex-commish Abascal now facing trial on the mainland. While some of the technocorps like ProtoTech can just write off their losses, plenty others like NiiS or BNP were razed to the ground leaving the whole city without the many corrupt elements that'd become insitutions with their stranglehold on the islands. With this large vacany in business comes entrepeneur Ramona Angula. A gangly all-smiles woman coated head to toe in ads, contact info, and basically anything that will get her name out there. Naturally this doesn't get her much beyond comments on her nuttiness with the tattered clothes not helping her situation. Nonetheless the basket case continues on putting elaborate street shows and wrapping herself around anyone who gives her the time of day to peddle all sort of random trinkets and machines. An "inventor" who makes everything people don't want and refuses to give up on a sale doing so with a smile the whole time.

Denis Pierrard volgt Emmanuel Tourpe op aan het hoofd van LN24

Denis Pierrard volgt Emmanuel Tourpe op als het hoofd van de Belgische nieuwszender LN24. Tourpe, die in 2022 werd gevraagd door IPM om LN24 te herpositioneren, heeft belangrijke veranderingen doorgevoerd, waaronder de lancering van nieuwe programma's. Onder zijn leiderschap heeft LN24 zich gevestigd als een thematische zender gericht op een actief publiek geïnteresseerd in nieuws en debat. Tourpe zal overstappen naar een managementrol bij een internationale audiovisuele groep maar blijft consultant voor LN24. François le Hodey, CEO van IPM Group, bedankt Tourpe voor zijn bijdrage en benadrukt het sterke team aan het hoofd van IPM, met Denis Pierrard als nieuwe leider van de audiovisuele activiteiten.

With Doom Eternal's focus on more strategic gameplay, using the right tool for the right job is more important than ever. Lock and load as we count down the 10 best weapon upgrades you can use in Doom Eternal. This article contains minor combat spoilers for Doom Eternal. Updated on September 4th, by Hodey Johns: The first version of this article had some great information but listed the weapon mods instead of the upgrades. This article now deals exclusively with the upgrades to each mod. Those looking for them can still find a complete guide to weapon mods on the site. Additionally, the sections have been packed with more information about each mod and what the upgrade does for it. The pictures have also been adjusted so players can see both the mod and the associated upgrade. Using the power of microwaves, the Plasma Rifle can cook demons alive with the Microwave Beam attachment. It kills demons slowly, but the utility this mod provides is too good to pass up. Every demon that is in the beam's path will be faltered, unable to move as the beam slowly builds up a charge. When the charge fills, the demon explodes, damaging all nearby enemies. To defeat the Mutated Seraphim boss requires the use of this weapon, and that boss is likely to be impossible without the application of this upgrade, so get it early. While the Ballista is a nerfed version of the Gauss Cannon from Doom , it is still a formidable weapon that deals great damage with each shot. In Doom Eternal, the Ballista can equip itself with the Destroyer Blade attachment, releasing a wide blade of energy after a long windup period. The blade itself deals incredible damage, instantly killing all but the toughest of demons with a single hit. The learning curve for this weapon is steep because landing a perfect shot with so many moving targets is a tall order. But the Charging Blast upgrade solves this problem, stunning enemies after reaching a full charge. This creates a window for you to release the perfect shot that wipes out hordes of enemies at once. Unlike most games, the Rocket Launcher in Doom Eternal acts more like a utility weapon than a proper weapon of mass destruction. It still deals damage, but it is best used as a means of crowd control. With the Remote Detonate mod, the Rocket Launcher can detonate its payload before it hits an object, allowing you to damage a group of enemies with the rocket still in flight. On tougher settings, the price of a stun simply can't be beaten. The damage of the rocket launcher speaks for itself, but giving it the ability to create a stun with the Concussive Blast upgrade makes it a useful utility weapon when trouble closes in. The Destroyer Blade is fantastic at slaying hordes of demons clustered together, but it lacks long-range capabilities. The Arbalest mod more than makes up for that. This charged shot fires a bolt of energy that detonates after a short time. Not only is the damage fantastic, but it can also instantly kill Cacodemons and seriously harm Pain Elementals. With such a devastating single shot, it's a shame that charging it up creates a moment of vulnerability for the Slayer. Thankfully, the Full Speed upgrade takes care of this problem, giving a speed boost while charging up the shot and preventing enemies from getting off free shots. Players are hoping this is one of the changes that stay through to the sequel. Aiming down sights in a game as frantic as Doom Eternal sounds like an awful idea. It was easily the worst weapon attachment in Doom , so what changed? The attachment itself saw few changes, now capable of blowing up the enemy's skull when mastered. It gets even more powerful when acquiring the Fast Loader upgrade. That's double damage against the game's most difficult enemies. If Doom wasn't metal enough, try using a fully automatic Combat Shotgun. This attachment is incredibly fun to use, but it also has some unique gameplay quirks no other attachment can offer. When you slay a demon with this fire mode, you recover shotgun shells from their body. But the best upgrade to this mod happens when you don't have to fire at all. In a game where the battles rely so much on movement, this speed boost is invaluable. Besides damaging shields, the Plasma Rifle is a subpar weapon in most scenarios when compared to the Chaingun, Super Shotgun, or Combat Shotgun. That is until you obtain the Heat Blast mod. This mod grants the Plasma Rifle a pseudo-shotgun blast alternate fire. Keep the trigger held down and the gun will build up heat which you can expend in a damaging blast in front of you. With the Super Heated Rounds, this buildup time occurs faster, creating a delightful balance between the single target primary firing ability and this area-of-effect Heat Blast mod. Miniguns in most video games are powerful weapons, firing with limited ammo to deal absurd amounts of damage. Somehow, Doom Eternal found a way to make miniguns from other games seem boring in comparison and turned it into one of the game's most powerful weapons. In terms of raw damage per second, this mod is the best, but it takes so long to deploy that it's often considered suicide to enter this mode. Thankfully, Rapid Deploy cuts this transformation time in half, making it the ideal weapon against bosses and bigger baddies when they get stunned. No matter the situation, the Sticky Bomb mod for the Combat Shotgun has you covered. It looks like a worse Rocket Launcher at first glance, but looks can be deceiving. When upgraded, the Sticky Bomb is arguably better than the Rocket Launcher. It has more ammo and speed and almost as much damage. The best Slayer skins will be a matter of some debate, but nobody can talk smack about this upgrade's effectiveness. The Super Shotgun's Meat Hook doesn't deal damage or stun targets. Instead, it gives the Doomslayer unprecedented levels of movement. Chaining to a demon will launch the Doomslayer towards them, giving a perfect opportunity to blast the demon to pieces. Alternatively, you can use the hook as a slingshot, using the newfound momentum to fling yourself across the arena towards a more advantageous position. The Quick Hook Improvement cuts down on the time between being able to grapple, which is critical for higher difficulties when players need another method of mobility. This is especially helpful when taking down the Dark Lord.
