So I’m playing fire emblem shadow dragon (this time I’m older and understand how to play as well as start a chapter over)
And marth is getting the xenoblade effect
This is where I see a character in smash bros, think “oh they seem cool and chill, I wonder what their game is like!,” I get the game, and instead of cool happy anime boys I witness these guys endure the most traumatizing, life altering events known to man, leading them to develop into very different people

Did I expect the black mirror s6e3 robot astronaut episode to turn into a transphobic hate crime metaphor this quickly rather than just a working from home metaphor? Nope.
Did my frantic googling (while trying to avoid actual spoilers) to see whether the “tragedy” the plot summary was on about was gonna be some world ending cataclysm that would upset me prepare me for this? Oh it sure fucking didn’t, so this is a PSA for y’all now

i beg western liberals to think for a single fucking second before making sweeping statements about how any random israeli citizen deserves to die because of their government’s horrific actions. two seconds, maybe. if you’re a usamerican, maybe reflect on the unspeakable brutality of the bush era a little. you’ll get there.

I do believe intrusive thoughts come in various genres and shades.
There's violent ones. There's taboo ones. There's impulsive ones (because yes, it has enough overlap with violent/dangerous thoughts to make those be potentially another, if milder, form of them. L'appel du vide IS still uncomfortable, even if you have full awareness of it happening.)
I think ITs can be associated with trauma - like flashbulbs of What Happened.
I think some ITs can be tinged by grief, too. Thoughts that don't help one be compassionate to oneself. The should/could/woulds that haunt and threaten to take away your joy and precious energy. Despite rationally knowing that what is done is done. You did the best you could with the information you had at the time. There's no use in excoriating yourself over it.
It's trite to tag this with Remus. But that last part kinda inspired me to write this and contemplate on the whole gamut of ITs Remus could produce. Just using the guy as a reflection/expression tool (like lots of SaSi fans already do.)

And for something other than complaining, art from the past chunk of time. Doing expression memes to work on individual body language between characters, and then just sketches and general shit.
Comic work is currently stalled, because I’ve come to realise I have zero (visual) horror movie literacy, because I hate watching media.. but I’m also very picky about what horror comics I find decent, and all of the ones that I generally use as sources pull from a lot of cinema traditions.
So slowly grinding through some movies, so that I can actually understand the references that they’re using (and that I’m pulling on in turn). Key word “slowly”, lol.
