This is really interesting how Yuu has a very very veryyyy good and high potential to become and turn as the biggest and greatset villain between all other stories till now I mean just look at him, look how calmly and even cheerfully and with NO kind of guilty he states that he doesn't give a damn about the whole world?! He literary says even if he will be force to sell the whole world so can save Mika, He. Would. Do. That!!

There's no joke really Yuu has everyone and everything around himself and is happy but he says such things so easily as if no other things in this world is important although Guren in the same age as him NEVER chose the world over his love (Mahiru) or family (he even SACRIFICED his FAMILY in AICHI in order to save the WORLD) UNTIL he completely LOST everyone and everything and completely left ALONE and INSANE at the end!! And he NEVER accept or said anything like that when he was on his RIGHT mind. As if it will be necessary Yuu will FOR SURE do human experiments, he will for SURE kill people even the beloved ones of his family, he will for SURE work with his enemy (just like how he may most probably will start to work with Shikama doji soon!!!!) and the scary part of him is that he has no SHAME or even GUILT over that too!! And this is both scare and at the same time interesting of him!!! He can be the biggest b*tch ever and will change the whole story in a villain mood and yep that's such a great but scare scenario really....! That's why although I really really like Yuu but I also like this Yuu's corruption arc too because very important life meanings and moral points and how people shouldn't JUDGE anyone from their covers can be adapted of such scenario at the end...!!

Yuichiro sliced a vampire's neck, causing him to glare at him as he stumbled back. Y/n then took the chance to stab it through the chest, causing it to fall to its knees and fade away.

Y/n looked over at Yuichiro and smiled when they saw him quickly look away. They walked over and buried their hand in his hair, causing his eyes to soften, and threaten to close. "You're fighting very well. Looks like you have started paying attention during training,"

"S-Stop..." He muttered, pulling his head away almost reluctantly. Y/n looked away, nodding. "Y-Yeah, we should meet up with the others,"

They started to walk, and Yuu followed behind them. Y/n stared at the ground, mind running wild. 'Did he not like it..? I might have misread all of the other signs. Maybe he doesn't feel the same...'

Yuichiro noticed the state that Y/n was in and felt guilty. 'I think they got the wrong idea when I told them to stop...' He quickened his pace to where he was standing next to them before taking their hand.

He smiled when they looked up at him, but they gave him a half-smile and looked back down. 'They're inside their head again.' Y/n then squeezed his hand, making him laugh softly.

'I'll let them know once we get back.'

They got back to the base and Kimizuki raised his eyebrow, making Yuu glare at him, and he smirked as he looked away from him.

There was then a hand on both of their shoulders, and they looked back to see Shinoa grinning at them. "What's this?" She sang, looking down at their hands.

Y/n looked down, starting to pull their hand away but Yuichiro held it tighter. "What does it look like? It's nothing weird,"

Shinoa glanced over at Y/n before whispering something in Yuichiro's ear, making his eyes widen before letting their hand go. Y/n looked at him, but he didn't look back them, and they looked down. 'What did she say...?'

Y/n stepped out of the shower, sighing as they dried themself off. 'I thought I would feel better after showering, but I don't... I don't know what this feeling is. I don't know what she said to him, but, he hasn't talked to me since... Maybe he likes her more. I wouldn't be surprised, she is amazing-'

A knock then came from their door, and they looked towards their bathroom door, opening it slightly. "Come i-" the door then opened to reveal Yuichiro with his pajamas on and his hair down. Y/n blushed lightly, making sure only their head could be seen.

"Yes, Yuu? Did you need anything?" He looked away from them, sitting on their bed. "Get dressed," Y/n nodded slowly before closing the door, and panicking.

'Oh fuck, what does he want? He seems angry, did I make him angry? Well, he's almost always angry, but still. I don't know if he's upset with me...' Once they got dressed, they walked out of the restroom, and once he looked at them, they froze.

"Did you need anything..?" Y/n muttered, and Yuu looked away. "Ah, yes, sit down," they sat down next to him, but he frowned slightly, standing up. "Are you ok- ah!"

He lifted them up, sitting them where he was sitting before sitting in front of them. He looked up at them before spreading their legs open, causing their face to go red. "Y-Yuu, what are you doing??"

He then turned around to where they were both facing the door, and he sat down with his head in between their legs. Y/n looked down at him while he looked up, waiting for them to say something.

He took a deep breath before sighing. "I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong idea earlier today," he muttered, and they looked away.

"No, no, it was my fault for thinking..." He tilted his head and Y/n looked away. "N-Nothing,"

"Y/n, I think I know what you mean." Y/n didn't look over, but he reached up and made them make eye contact. "I don't know what it is. But I can't really show affection in public. It's this thing I have, maybe it's because I haven't before, but, it's strange for me,"

Y/n tilted their head when he blushed. "But when we're alone... I just want to sit like this and talk, or even go to sleep, just have you touch me... I love you, Y/n. I'm sorry if I made you think otherwise,"

Y/n's eyes widened, and they tried to speak, but nothing came out. Yuu looked down, before standing up. "Forget I said anything,"

He started to walk out and Y/n stood up, reaching their hand out, but not being able to say anything. 'Yuu... Yuu!'

As he was about to grab the door handle, they grabbed his wrist and pulled him back, making him stumble back. "Y-Y/n!" They pushed him onto their bed, climbing on top of him and burying their face in his shoulder.

"D-Don't leave... I'm sorry, Yuu. I love you, just don't leave," Hearing their voice, he grabbed their wrists, flipping over to where he was pinning them down.

Y/n's eyes widened as they looked up at him, and Yuu stared at their lips, breathing becoming heavier. "I won't. I'll never leave you,"

He leaned down, smashing his lips against theirs, and Y/n closed their eyes, kissing him back. Y/n's face flushed red at how rough he was being, and while kissing he straddled their waist, starting to softly grind his hips against them.

"Yuu..." Y/n muttered in between kisses, reaching up to bury their hand in his hair. He pulled away, and Y/n looked away from him, but he grabbed their chin again, forcing them to look at him. "Don't you dare look away from me,"

He leaned down to kiss their neck, making them close their eyes. Yuichiro smirked to himself before shoving his hand up their shirt and squeezing their nipple.

"Ah- Yuichiro!" He smirked, continuing to kiss their neck, but they heard the door open and Yuichiro quickly got off of them, and they looked at the door to see Shinoa and Yoichi standing there looking surprised.

Yoichi bowed with a red face. "I'm so sorry for interrupting," he ran off, but Shinoa smirked, walking into the room. "Well, well. What do we have here?"

"Shinoa, please leave."

"Why? Did I interrupt something?"

"Yes. Now leave,"

"Awh, someone's angry,"

Yuichiro shrugged his shoulders before getting back on top of them, kissing them again. Y/n's eyes widened seeing Shinoa smirk. "Y-Yuu... Shinoa's still-"

"Screw her. She wants to watch, let her watch," He licked her neck, causing Y/n to cover their mouth to hold back a moan, and Shinoa giggled. "I'll let you two have fun," she sang on the way out.

Once she closed the door, Yuu kissed them before moving down, and flipping on his back, laying his head in between their thighs.

They smiled, sitting up and starting to play with his hair. He closed his eyes and pushed his head against their hand, making Y/n laugh softly.

"You seem to enjoy this,"

"I've wanted you to do this since earlier today. Again, I'm sorry about..." He trailed off as they started to softly scratch his scalp. "Don't apologise, it's all cleared up now."

They smiled at each other, as they continued to play with his hair.

Hey! Sorry for the late ask, I literally just remembered the new chapter is out. And wow did it make me feel a lot of different things. I feel like it’s finally addressed Yuu’s ‘stupidity’ in a substantial way that’s really grounded it in not just his own persistence, but in his belief in Mika and their combined strength. And even though his plan to let Mika make a plan is not immediately promising, I like how they had him reflect on the situation they’re in and fully commit to making the best choices for themselves.

Also there were some much appreciated cute cheeky moments like Mika being chill about Yuu falling off the tower, Yuu self-identifying as the dumb brawn in the duo, and Yuu using Mika’s own words against him.

Ultimately though, their fight hit me right in the feels. It really contrasted Mika’s pessimism to Yuu’s optimism about their relationship and situation at large. Mika’s insistence that he must lose Yuu shouldn’t choose him bc he can’t believe it’s possible for them to actually work out and be happy like he wants. But what got me specifically was Mika telling Yuu that he should learn to like Shinoa back. That he should go live a normal (heterosexual) life without him bc Yuu’s feelings for him are ‘trivial’. As if Yuu could just choose to get over Mika and be happy with Shinoa. Like I’m sure I don’t have to explain to you how much that relates to so many ppl’s young queer experiences, but the nuance of the way they represented it in this chapter felt so much bigger to me than anything else between them so far. So sorry to YuuNoa shippers, but if Shinoa and Yuu ever get together after it being stated that Yuu doesn’t even like her at this point in the story, I might actually have to bring out the baiting word frfr.

Don't worry about it anon! I'm going to be super busy this month, so I also actually forgot there was a new chapter at all, which is why this response is even later than usual.

This gets long since I go a bit off the rails so I'm actually gonna utilize a read more this time! Sorry if this is a mess, again I'm busy and my thoughts are a bit scattered as such.

Yeah, you have a point. Really, I'm glad that Kagami didn't suddenly pull a 'Yuu is suddenly a mastermind' sort of thing and is instead sticking to his guns of 'Yuu has no idea what he's doing, but he sure is doing it'. I wasn't expecting that Yuu would suddenly become a mastermind or anything, but I was a bit worried that Yuu would suddenly have some half-baked plan in mind that would just work out because he's the protagonist you know? I'm much happier to see that his plan is to not plan and let Mika, who is way better at this kind of thing, do it. Sure, it's a bit concerning since Mika's just in the dark about the interworkings of everything as Yuu is, but it's a much better alternative.

And, before I dive into the rest of what you said, I'm happy to see them finally trying to set outside of the role of being a pawn. Outside of it showing some character growth for Yuu (kinda), it reflects Guren's story. Yuu and Guren have always had parallels, but Yuu is finally starting to step away from being a pawn, something Guren (arguably) has never really been able to do. Guren tried his damnedest to stop being a pawn in his story. He even also took the approach of 'either we achieve our goal or we die trying', but, in the end, he failed on both accounts because he cared too much. Maybe you could argue he's no longer a pawn with his current resurrection goals, but I'm specifically referring to Catastrophe at 16's story when I say this. Yuu is now essentially in that same position, but I have a feeling that, unlike Guren, he'll be able to break free from his role and actually achieve his goal. It's a very good 'the student surpasses the mentor' type thing. It'd be interesting to see if it's just because Yuu has more protagonist powers than Guren (a.k.a there's no particular reason Yuu succeeds when Guren failed; it just be what it is), or if it's because, unlike Guren, Yuu is able to sacrifice people more easily. As Yuu alludes to here and we saw last chapter, Yuu apparently has no qualms in killing(?) people he considers friends and has called family before. That could certainly play a role in Yuu taking a different path than Guren. However, you didn't really bring any of this up so this is a huge digression from your ask. Sorry about that! Moving on.

Say what you will about OnS, but it always fits in time for little character moments like that. It's fun to see.

To be honest, I don't have much to add to your last paragraph there as yeah, it's an interesting way to read that part of their argument and I can relate. I'll tackle the last bit of it though. For full disclosure, I feel I should say that I don't personally ship YuuNoa, but have no problems with it. If it became canon I just wouldn't be surprised bc that's how most stories like this go. But now into what I intend to say.

Mmm. Honestly, I do think applying "the baiting word" (I've never seen anyone avoid saying it so that made me laugh. thank you truly LOL) is a fair thing to do if that were to happen. The word does get used maybe a little too liberally as fans hype themselves up for a possible gay romance a bit too much sometimes (and I am very guilty of this myself. Don't get me wrong. I too wear my rose-tinted 'no one is straight' glasses at all times), but OnS is pretty heavy-handed with the subtext sometimes, whether it means to be or not. There are a lot of things I could point to with this, but the most glaring one was what happened in this chapter with comparing Yuu's feelings for Mika with his feelings for Shinoa. It's not even something that's exclusive to this chapter, though I don't think it's been this blatant before. Really, the amount of times the love that the protag (I'm grouping Guren in with this bc what he has going on with Mahiru and Shinya is incredibly comparable to what these three have going on) has for their best friend is compared to the love they have/should have with their LI is too great to count. For Yuu in particular though?

Numerous straight romances in shounen (other genres as well, but particularly shounen) feel forced due to the protag having more chemistry with the male (or female if the protag is not male) cast than their straight LI as romance is usually more of an undertone/side thing than the focus (though there are more reasons than that that I won't get into for length purposes), but usually, there's some build-up even if it's a poor excuse for relationship development. For Yuu and Shinoa that's not really the case. Yuu has never shown romantic interest in Shinoa, so it shouldn't be a surprise to see it confirmed here. Any romantic moments from them are only portrayed/seen as such from Shinoa's perspective, so I'm inclined to agree with you that it'd feel very off at this point in time for Yuu to end up with Shinoa. The story isn't over, so there's still time for feelings to build on Yuu's end of things, but right now? Yeah, there isn't anything there for Yuu. His feelings for Mika, romantic or otherwise, are stronger than his feelings for Shinoa.

But I do feel it's worth bringing up that, just because Yuu doesn't have romantic feelings for Shinoa rn doesn't mean MikaYuu will be canon. Who knows, we might end up with Yuu with no one (which would make more sense than YuuNoa at this point in time).

But hey, just because your ship isn't/doesn't end up as canon doesn't mean you can't enjoy it! That's what headcanons and fanworks are for!
