He is an exclusive singer for his fans, and his stunts and dramas only remain at the fandom level, And every time Louis does a stunt it's more like , Louis wants to torture his fans or rewrite their minds. it is clear from his sales, streaming and social media that louis has not gained many fans, maybe even he has lost some. The tabloids did not even cover the news of Louis Festival.His songs still aren't playing on the radio, so whatever he's done in the last two years hasn't fixed that.

I was wondering how many people like me have turned away from Louis, beacase of what happened in the last year (or two) with BG or the rest of Louis's stunts.

Hi sweetheart. I think stunts and shifting images have been difficult for fans of both of Harry and Louis. It can really be a challenge to set all of that to the side and just enjoy the music and the parts of their personalities you connect to.

I hear what you’re saying about Louis and it sounds like you don’t see the payoff for the bullshit. I would imagine changing Louis’ image is a bit like turning the Titanic — it’s going to be slow and incremental. I don’t think his goal is to be a global superstar, but I think he’s made it clear he loves touring and it seems he also loves giving other artists opportunities (via his festivals, being his opening act etc). Does he need to be on the radio for that? Not necessarily. Not that it shouldn’t be a goal, but there are countless artists who never get played on the radio and still have successful careers. Having more coverage in the press would definitely help. Broadening his fan base would help. But I think he must know that and have a plan for that.

Perhaps one way to shift how you feel is to trust that he has a plan that is moving his career towards his goals. Our idea of success isn’t necessarily his. We don’t have the full picture or know any of the challenges. It may be moving a lot more slowly than we think it should be, it may be twisting and turning in ways we don’t like or understand, but it’s possible it’s moving incrementally in the direction he wants it to.

And it’s really okay if you need to take a break from focusing on him. He’ll be there when and if you want to return.

He's the one that put Style on the wall of the Miss You video. They're the ones that continuously use blue and green lights. Louis specifically interacts with Larries and Larry related signs and flags at his show. I mean, the list goes on and on. So, if you want people to chill out on Larry, how about you stop feeding it? Because this whole back and forth is exhausting and mentally draining. I'm really fucking tired of being made the joke of this fandom by Louis when we've done nothing but see him for who he really is and love him for that. And now the harassment and death threats have skyrocketed from solos, hets, gf stans, stans of other fandoms, and people into pop culture. I know she went after larries one time (maybe more bc I stopped listening to her after that), but she made sure to talk about them and basically say without saying that a lot of our theories about xf, management, and syco weren't far off. Others around them have played into Larry. So, why doesn't he tell them to stop. Like, stop going after fans for something you created and encouraged for years. Just ignore it until you're ready to come out, if that ever happens.

I do have a question. I know stunts suck and Harry has been stunting a lot. I know H*livia was extremely upsetting. But why do larries seem to get more people upset at Harry for doing a pap walk with T*ylor, or even the ones he did with OW where he was obviously miserable, then they do with Louis outright shitting on us - multiple times? I'd much rather see Louis have to do a pap walk or two with some girl than throw fans under the bus, you know what I mean? I know this hurts, especially for those of you who haven't experienced this before. We shouldn't have to deal with this. I think most people are able to ignore it and move past it because they know he's closeted and why he's doing it. They know that Louis doesn't love them any less, despite what his public twitter account might suggest. We know he's got little agency and we know he's being made to do things against his will. We see past his image and actions.

I would prefer him stunting over lashing out against his fans too. Maybe that's not an option or maybe he didn’t have a choice. Either way it isn't okay. It wasn't okay in 2012 and it isn't okay now. The only thing we can do is stop supporting him and giving him our money. Some love him and want him to succeed, and fight with him against the chains holding him back. He won't be able to do that without larries. So they keep supporting him and live in hope that things will change for the better someday. Speculates pregnancy every time she's out doing engagements, I mean they already said they're done with 3 children 🙄 and if they planned to have another one they'd already have after Louis's early years, he's almost five years old now so it's unlikely to happen.

I think it's for different reasons for different people. For some, it's because they like " royal babies", all that that implies and the idea that they are more special than the rest of us mortals because they are Royal. Note: No, I'm not saying that babies aren't special and I'm not hating on babies, don't be silly, I'm just saying that many people think they live in Disney or something.

Another reason, and I think it's connected to the first one, is the parasocial relationship that we end up creating with the royals in one way or another. We think we know them in a certain way, that they are our friends or family and well, many of us are happy when there is a new baby in the family or group of friends.

Another reason is that for many, especially the newer fans, the idea that Catherine being pregnant would mean that Harry and his offspring would move down the line to the throne.

For some, I think it's a combination of all of that.

Heya anon! I’m gonna break this down a bit.

Louis’ online presence has been very yikes since the first Bullshit tweet. You could see the moment his Twitter started being controlled in one direction, with how different his content became, interacting with the boys (Harry) slowed right down, and his typing style and tone changed. Social media accounts, particular for influential people with a large following, are ran by PR folks on their team. It means the artist can have a more hands off approach, and doesn’t have to worry about posting marketing content at certain deadlines etc., and it’s the easiest reach to get news spread fast. Now, in terms of how much control an artist has over their accounts, differs depending on their contract with their team.

One Direction were the biggest of the big. And when you have 5 teenage boys with huge accounts, it’s pretty safe to say they didn’t want one of them accidentally posting something incriminating towards themselves, the band, or their team, so, they would’ve had very little freedom on their social media when they hit the big point of their career a bit down the track. However, control is not entirely taken over, as the artist still needs to look authentic. They need to connect with fans, get them engaged, and tweet them back. Then, they get trending on Twitter and that’s a win for them, obviously.

So this kind of social media handover is specified in their initial contract, with subcontracts specifying exactly what and how the PR team and the artist will use it. The artist might need to personally post at least 3 times a week across platforms, for example: one tweet replying to a fan, one promo tweet for their music, and one Instagram post/story that ties into whatever the narrative/promo is at that moment, and the contract might be more lax during the months where there isn’t anything to be marketed. Other than that, the team will take care of everything else. That’s their job after all, to market the artist!

So, what’s the best way to dispel rumours about a conspiracy theory when the people in question struggle to talk about the theory on camera? A tweet, of course! It goes straight out to the fans, spreads like wildfire, gets their name trending, and screenshots go straight to the media. The artist doesn’t wanna deal with the inevitable backlash and chaos that ensues after a tweet like that, so, the PR folks say “let’s try and get them to stop talking about larry, by talking about larry…” which makes 0 sense right? If larry isn’t real, they could just leave it alone. Hell, larry aren’t the only pairing in the world, and plenty of other people who have had theories about them like this have just… never commented. Even when they had a big fanbase of people like larries, who believe that they are in a stunt relationship/have been hiding a relationship with another famous person, they’ve just left it alone.

If you have a watch of the Four Hangout interview, where they are all asked if there are any rumours they’d like to deny, Louis and Harry are dead silent. That was the time to do it.

So I think maybe your question leaves out the contracts and closeting of larry, as you’ve said Harry would be pissed that his man has kept denying their relationship to the public (it has been far and few between, though). I would be too, but he’s not doing it on his own accord. the boys, and many other artists in the industry, have been victims of closeting/het pushes. Even just basic PR stunt relationships, that straight people have, are for marketing purposes. There are narratives in place so these artists keep their name in the media, keep looking attainable to a fanbase with young woman fawning over them, and keep selling records/movies whatever it might be. I won’t go deep into Louis and Harry’s stunt relationships and narratives, but it’s very obvious they’ve been victim to them.

So, two birds one stone, right? Deny a relationship that your fanbase has a theory on, on Twitter so there’s proof and it reaches those fanbases fast, while encouraging the stunt narrative the public sees of you, ticking the boxes above. It’s a quick Band-Aid for now, because the longer they don’t say anything, the easier it is for people to assume they’re together. So a little tweet here and there helps. And, unfortunately, Louis has always been the one in the firing line of denials.

Even in the early days of Larry, back in 1d, I think Harry only did one denial on his own, with niall and Liam. H+L did a couple together, and then @Louis_Tomlinson took the reins. Every larry denial on camera was hilarious, poorly responded to, and was laughed at by the fandom. It didn’t jolt us whatsoever, but when you can’t see the person behind the tweet, it is meant to cause a bit more doubt for us. Did he post this on his own accord? Was it PR? It’s not as easy as looking at their body language and seeing them stutter in a video, and that was the point of moving the denials off camera.

These “ask me anything” tweeting sprees that happen, are for the sole purpose of pushing narratives. Louis ticks off a couple of things on his list each time he does one, which are: talk about F, get rid of larry rumours by talking about larry rumours (it’s an absolute joke, the way they do that hahaha), and promo some new music. He also replies to fans about football and other stuff, but that’s because he always has to keep it as authentic as possible. And he does like talking to us, he just has a couple of obligations during this.

In terms of F and bbg, I believe that’s a stunt so I don’t think Louis is mad about people not believing it, so I can’t comment on that, unfortunately!

Now, NDAs. This term is thrown around A LOT in this fandom, and the actual way one works can get lost in translation through misinformation and overuse of contractual language that confuses folks who don’t have a deeper knowledge of entertainment law and the entertainment industry. NDAs are not a one page contract that states a couple of things that you can’t do, and you just scribble a signature. They are big documents that are overlooked by several lawyers and adjusted/assessed/edited over a long period of time, depending on the importance of why someone needs to sign one. There are already basic drafts for fans/crew who see something they shouldn’t see etc., but they are edited to be specific as possible to that situation, so there are no blurred lines. There are no mistakes. No loopholes. Everyone around the boys has signed one, which I’ve discussed a little bit about before.

When it comes to keeping a relationship under wraps from the public, both parties need to sign a separate copy, often times of the exact same document. But, NDAs are different to other PR and marketing contractual Agreements. NDAs say “hey, don’t talk about this thing or any other of these things! It can’t be leaked! If you do, there will be huge consequences and you’ve broken the contract and we will take all your money and sue you and you’ll never have a career again!”, while marketing and PR Agreements are “hey, so people are talking about you being in a secret relationship, and you’ve signed an NDA so you can’t say you are in one, so we’re gonna give you a fake relationship to help keep things quieter and hopefully dispel the beliefs (which will make it easier for you to not say anything if people leave the topic alone!!) and we can get some good marketing in and grow the band yada yada yada”. Which, they thought would work, but we’re still here haha. So the two can be mutually exclusive for artists like Harry and Louis, but their team will obviously just sign an NDA.

So, my advice is, don’t take everything at face value. Louis wouldn’t want to lose any fans, regardless of what they believe in. And same with Harry. They just have different narratives to appeal to different demographics.

Hey there. Can I ask do you believe Louis and Harry did initially have a romantic connection, whatever that might have been? It looks from your blog as though you’re not firmly in a Larry camp and do see this part of the fandom as disruptive and distructive!

I feel like this too, hence me asking. I do think they initially seemed super close, and that maybe something did happen between them but the aggressiveness of the Larry fan base kind of knocks me side ways! No wonder the boys are no longer pictured together and that Louis feels so protective and private about the situation. Jeez, it’s insane.

Surely we can appreciate them for their music and what they bring to their stage shows rather than analysing everything they do and insisting it’s all a signal to a secretive relationship.

I don’t think any of the 1D members see each other or talk to each other routinely except on a superficial, “Hey how’s it going” level. I think Louis still has a lot of fondness for his 1D memories, but they are memories.

No one stays stagnant in real life. We move forward or go backward. Louis has said that each of the 1D men have found their own level of success, and at first he felt bitter comparing himself to others, but mentally he has moved beyond it (even if fans have not).

In real terms, Louis does not live his life thinking, “Well so-and-so got this magazine cover, played this festival, worked with this producer, has this type of fashion sponsorship, have these types of celeb friends, so I have to catch up.”

It’s clear to me that Louis carries on with his own life regardless of what he does or does not see- and 99% of the time, fans care more than he does. We’re often surprised by his next move because Louis simply thinks about his own future, which doesn’t include 1D. These guys are his friends, but only in the sense that they “went to high school together.”

As for Larry, I believe a lot differently now compared to what I thought even 4 or 5 years ago, when most of my fandom friends were Larries. Most new fans debate Larry as if it’s an HBO show— for entertainment value. I guess it doesn’t interest me that much anymore, since it’s pretty clear that it’s just people indulging in fantasy. I haven’t deleted posts from my old blog because it shows an evolution in my fandom journey… pretty crazy itself! I always say don’t believe ANYONE in fandom. That includes everyone. Yeah I’m not 10000% not talking about tiktok or twitter. I’m very positive that the majority of Harry's fanbase (and by that I mean people giving him insane numbers and making him one of the most profitable artists of his generation) right now consists more of casual fans than internet stans. Just compare his engagement between twitter x instagram (instagram being where the majority of these people are). And this seems to be continuously the portion they have been trying to make it bigger and bigger, which is completely understandable when we’re talking about a big multifaceted artist. I’m not trying to dismiss his “core” fanbase, which is people actually more deeply involved in everything and there are obviously a lot of us, but I just think we’re getting less and less relevant compared to the amount of people listening to his songs and buying his tickets, etc.. and these are the people who are not deeply involved, and probably are not even sure where they stand when it comes to Harry’s sexuality or relationship with Olivia, everything is just intriguing to a certain level and that’s it. They have a very loose connection and knowledge about what is happening, much less a “background knowledge” of what may have happened so many years ago in the band and rumours with Louis. And these are also the people who will leave in a heartbeat when whatever Harry does stops making sense to them… and that’s where the gay part can be very threatening, that’s what they scared shitless to lose or restrict.

That’s probably the biggest difference between Harry and Louis as artists. Harry’s image and marketing strategies are targeted to that portion of fans… big headlines or stories are the ones getting to them. Harry doesn’t even have that deep connection with fans like Louis has, and it’s not very much of his interest to build that connection either. That’s probably why keeping the stunt going still makes sense to them. (And why this gill’s lounge thing was a flop).

What I find really interesting is that I don't think there's another way. I think the things that makes Larry so compelling are the same things that made 1D famous.

1D's fame is obviously tied up with not just the rise in social media and all that entails, but the change in what video meant. It's not just that every fan can film them, it's that every interview they do is being filmed and uploaded on youtube where it'll be easily accessible indefinitely.

And it's not even the technology itself that is so important, but that nobody involved understood what the technology would mean socially and culturally.

A 16 year old today, will have a base level of knowledge that if you're filmed that film could be available forever and could reach a very wide audience. In 2010, 1D members had no way to really comprehend that. However, Harry and Louis intended to navigate a homophobic industry at that point, they couldn't have possibly understood the risks they were taking.

But it wasn't just the, their team also had their eye on the wrong ball. In the past, the risk of being outted came from the tabloids and their team were very good at tabloids. But they didn't understand what it would mean that hundreds of thousands of fans could watch, clip, and edit every single moment of every interview and performance. From when their team realised that there was a real danger, not just a situation that needed to be managed, (I think April 2012 is a very reasonable guess), they were scrambling reactively.

The exact same wave of new technology and the culture that came with it that enabled 1D to become the biggest band in the world, meant that aspects of 1D members relationships were captured in ways that no band members had had to deal with before.

I imagine they don't look back and ask 'what if?', because it'd be so hard to pull anything out (and they have other things to wish for). But I do imagine their feelings about being seen and having privacy are even more complicated than most queer celebrities.

It's fascinating to me to hear about all the new people being persuaded on new forms of social media. Obviously there's a lot going on, and a lot of nonsense gets distributed, but I think it also suggests that those videos are still compelling - a decade after they were made. And I think that is interesting and noteworthy.

And I don't mean to suggest that the fact that the videos are still compelling is a sign we're right (we almost certainly are wrong about some things, and are probably wrong about many things). But there is something in those videos, those moments captured that has meaning and connects to people.

I know! I hate the barking. It’s not cute snd it’s not funny and people might think it’s harmless but to do it so many times? If it happened once or even a couple of times, whatever, I wouldn’t do it but that’s a me thing. But to do it constantly is, to me, disrespectful. Agree with everything you’ve said. We’ve seen how much he absolutely loves it when crowds chant their love for him, or his beauty (so wholesome) or even football chants! Why can’t these people do more of that? But I guess it’s just an established fact now that the US crowds are what you have to bear if you want to have the pleasure of experiencing latam crowds later. And you’re right about why he starts there too, so that the crowds progressively (majorly) keep getting better and he can ensure that both him and the fans have a good time.

Larries unwillingness to see (and do something about) the fact that they make fandom spaces uncomfortable for everyone around them is unbelievably rude. No, because I genuinely giggled when I read how 'Louis would be over'. I don't know how to tell them this but sadly, Louis is already over among the gp and he only has his fans, which one of the many proofs of can be the fact that the uk album charts numbers were made up of the fans buying fitf during the first week/in pre-orders and when those fans bought everything they had to buy, it fell off the charts. Truth is, none of us knows what would happen. All the examples people are always giving, are based on bands from 80s, 90s, 00s and I think we all agree those were completely different times and a pre-social media era. There has never been a boy band as big as one direction before in the digital era and as I stated many times, I firmly believe that Larry was the main factor of the band's success.

Now, everyone lovessss saying how Harry is breaking the norms and changing the game but where there truly could be a situation that would be just that, suddenly it's... too risky? Which leads me to another thing I have noticed, which is how much Harry's galactic level of fame is something a lot of Larries love to boast about too but that's a whole other discussion.

This post already got too long so I guess what I mean is: we can't really predict how things would go with their coming out but I don't think catastrophizing about it just to justify them using a child to protect their careers is a right thing to do. 1D in itself has always been a special phenomenon with a totally unique fandom dynamics, basically taking part in creating the stan culture on social media. Hi, sorry this is so late, being in the UK you may have posted whilst I was asleep 😊

My experience in the fandom has ebbed and flowed since 2015, I was really taken aback by Zayn leaving/BG/the hiatus being announced but thought I could stick it out because seriously they weren't going to make BG an actual physical thing but alas I was wrong. I dipped in and out in January '16 but, even though I didn't believe in the pregnancy, as a midwife, so much disinformation was being flooded through the fandom about pregnancy and post natel women I couldn't recognise the fandom any more. Added in with the "pram pap pics" seemingly popping up on the regular I stepped right out because it was no longer about the music or the fun nature of 1D, it was more about these daft narratives of their "private" lives which seemed to be anything but.

I float around Tumblr , regularly seeing things like Jay's passing, tour things and films but I really don't feel any emotional connection to anyone other than Niall, who's Teflon image hasn't ever been shattered.

I struggle to enjoy the "persona" of both Harry and Louis, neither feel realistic to me and whilst I know they aren't teenage boys like at the start of 1D, both of their images seem to have swung completely away from what I loved about them.

On the subject of H/L being together, like you, I've seen too much to make me not believe but it's been clouded over the hiatus by a lot of rubbish, mostly pushed by the fandom/new fans/unnecessary stunts. In my heart I think they are together and I shall celebrate if it's ever revealed to be the case but I just don't have the energy to be there and do that in this season of my life.

And as an end note, like you, it felt like a huge chunk of my life had ended when I stepped back but the memories still pop up on my phone and I can still blast Kiss You through the streets of the UK, so time does heal. Will I step back in if 1D reform, who knows? Whatever you choose to do re:1d I wish you the best and most fab '24 and I'll be sticking around to see what you bring to Tumblr when you feel the need 🩷

I don't think this mass attack on Larries is related to #FreeHarry but more to the release of the album. His team sees it all, right? They know well what we think of the songs on this album. Strange that the first to attack us is one of the most Larry YouTubers ever. He's certainly used us for clout over the years but there's a difference between him and who watches Larry's videos just laughing or giving us reasons just to have views… if your first thought when you listen to a song is the same as we have then it means that you really understand the connections. He was one of the few who managed to make the right connections on the songs on the first listen, without the need for someone to explain them to him in the comments. Imagine what he could have said during the video reaction of Harry’s House, an album that talks about a long relationship that OVER THE YEARS has faced ups and downs, breakups, difficulties of all kinds, misunderstandings. An album that talks a lot about the past, which refers to the past by comparing it with the present. An album where Harry talks about who was, is and will forever be the love of his life. An album that, even with an effort, it’s impossible to connect to Ol*via. It's an album about a relationship that, whether it's Louis or not, is none of the ones we know publicly. Harry's team knows this, they also know that it’s impossible to change our minds, but they also know that with the new album there will be a wave of new fans yet to be shaped and that is where they are aiming. It's a cryptic album because of the way it's written, where if you don't use your brain some songs feel like a shopping list with a little "I love you" in the middle. Do you know how many people become fans of an artist they accidentally discovered on YouTube thanks to a video reaction? LOTS! That's what happened with the pandemic when we were all home. Harry's team has just bought the YouTube audience by taking advantage of one of the characters who had always been on our side, because this way the effect is even stronger, so it’s even more clear that we are the delulu and disrespectful freaks. It's a reminder to everyone before the album is released, it's a clear message for new fans to come, nothing more. As always, among this ton of new fans there will be the superficial ones and those who will use their brains... let's get ready to welcome them, because for them, entering our community could be even more difficult than it has been for us.

Because they’re morons. People who think you have to love Harry and Louis exactly the same amount and in exactly the same way have a problem with anyone who sees things differently. I think it’s weird to assume there’s something suspect about a person who feels a deeper connection to one than the other. I actually find it strange that it makes someone feel that they need to attack me and accuse me of lying.

But to answer your question, there’s nothing wrong with being a Harry fan who believes in Larry. And if there was absolutely nothing about Louis that I enjoyed or was interested in, then that’s what I’d be. But that’s not where I’m at. And I do wish people would politely fuck off with telling other people how to run their own blogs. Not you, anon, just in general.

I disagree with some of this personally. First, I think when Harry does something he's either doing it for himself or for the hets and never for larries. We simply see and understand the things he does for himself a bit more. That's how I always saw it. I agree with you that Louis especially has to give something to the larries from time to time because unlike Harry's his fandom is mostly larries. But I don't think he tries particulary hard because imo he "wronged" larries quote a bit and a big part of them is always gonna say "it hurt but he had to do that" and stay. I don't think they care for us or have a different connection to us than any other group of fans nowadays, especially Harry, but they did before. But now I think they think we do more harm than good for them and it does seem like they're trying to get rid of us in a way. If they do something it's not for us like rbb was for example. It's for them, and we just happen to understand it for what it is. I want to say that I'm a die hard larrie and huge fan of both and I'm not criticising them for any of this it's just how I see it and I think I'm pretty objective here because I don't mind it. I don't need to feel special as a fan or think that they know I know or whatever. I honestly don't care how they feel about larries now because they started it so. But no I don't see them appreciating us more than any other fans.

First of all you're allowed to disagree with me and other anons, and you are also allowed to criticise H and L while remaining a die hard larrie and a huge fan of both. Okay?

I do agree that H does a lot for himself (and for both him and L). But if we larries weren't there to recieve it, like eroda, sushi mv, lyrics about being queer and closeted, then he would have been shouting into the void? I think harry has a need to be seen, understood and accepted. I think having us larries there to understand what he's putting down is validating and helping him in coping with being closeted. Imagine him facing the queerbaiting accusation alone, with a fandom who think he's straight? It would be much harder. Imagine no (at least far less) pride flags at his shows? Imagine no queer people to help come out (larries lets be real) and let him live through them? Imagine him belting out songs about feeling trapped in a closet and seeing no understanding of the pain he's feeling looking out at the audience? I think Louis said it well with "our eyes meet, and i can tell that you're the same as me". I still think that recognition is something they both need. They don't get that from non-larries.

They may take larries more for granted than before and cater less to us, but i don't think they have something to prove anymore. They don't need to signal to us every day. We're that solid in our beliefs. We've (mostly) forgiven them for how they wronged us, as you say (i haven't, but i'm an outlier i think). Signaling might also make it worse for them if they have to balance it with the het. I don't think that they love us any less or want to come out any less.

Larries and Fandom Transition.

This is reiteration of sorts. It'll be focused more on Louis and Larries.

Come the hiatus, people thought they broke up, some stayed, some left and yet the Larries were the majority of Louies and Harries.

With Harry's solo tour that created the safe space and they carried it to and through the LTWT. Being said that it was nothing to do with Larry or Larries per say but they played a part in it. And yet it became easier to hold that faith and sense of community within the fandom thanks to the bears.

Now as Louis transcends into his solo career and is with BMG for distribution, his perceived image has massively changed over the years even within the fandom.

Quarantine brought on the influx of new fans and many rejoined the fandom as well. It was a way to reconnect and also to be absolutely doused in past content and people did do that. They researched and rbb sbb, bg masterposts were circulating enmasse. And people came through to show their support for louis on LTWT with their flags and rainbow projects and OTB was the anthem.

Then came the day where 30+ bg articles were dropped in just 24 hours. And the day where Louis was papped with Sofie.

It was with the documentary and the promo they reinforced that he has a kid who looks just like him, he is open to dating 22 year old emo girls. His fanbase majorly constitutes of "teens". Etc etc and so on and so forth.

It works.

He is making the music he loves, his fanbase is growing with addition of new people who have no background and even if they research, it will never be close to as experiencing everything first hand.

The Larries who have been part of the fandom for years got to experience their interactions in real time and spread out over the years. When the bears came out it was the absolute faith and belief. And it cemented the bond between Larries and Larry. More even so when bg broke out it was war and yet it was heavily understood between the fans as to what was going on. It was the continous reassurance over the years.

That is not happening now. That connection might not be recreated. Louis isn't going out of his way to communicate or "signal" like he did back then. I don't think it's even meant to or might not be even a necessity at this point for him. He has well established that relationship with fans back then and it's open if people are willing to look into and explore. It more seems like he is solely focused on his music and that is enough.

I don't hold the breath for new fans to research or dive into that deep into the past. So yes the connection and the space will be maintained but it might not be the majority in the future. The difference is evident with LTWT and FITFWT.

Now I'm not saying that safe place has been compromised or the pride flags at concerts have decreased or the support has decreased. With the increase in the newcomers the ratio has shifted. And it will continue to do so. With the amount of people that want to sleep with him, the newcoming hets, the solo louies who might think he is straight, the fandom is ever so changing and it is way different than Louis first started.
