SO BASICALLY, mumbo right? i know i said hed be nastya and he does share some stuff w her but then ppl reminded me of who would be aurora and what of nastyas backstory and i realized tango would be a better fit for those details of nastya so (ex princess tango + starship impulse !!! zed is the ships doctor btw n his mechanism is his brain) i decided to mix n match stuff from different characters n change whatevers, so now about mumbo:

his mechanism is his blood ! which is replaced with redstone :] this makes him radioactive, and also glow red. hes also like, a powered redstone circuit or w/e they are, and can power things by touching them/being near them even. i think redstone would be terrible for circulation but also that i think redstone itself would be pretty hot, being radioactive and all (especially powered redstone)

the coat + gloves etc are for hiding the glow (and also maybe some of the radiation??? i cant imagine that would be very good for normal people), and the scarf is for his head when he goes out n such

the mustache is fake. yeah. mumbo got meched young and did not get a mustache u_u

i think theyd have a backstory kinda like ashes, mumbo worked for the governemnt as a scientist/weapons expert but double crossed them for the rebellion or smth and got assassinated/sabotaged via lab safety violations

ANYWAY i want sizzys proposal in full detail. we got the clace and the malec ones give them the lovely proposal that i deserve to read. pay them RESPECT. i would also looooove a clace story like any at all. i love and miss them dearly. I would also love a malec story with the kids bc we have literally hardly seen into their family life after they got Rafael but maybe that’s what tec3 is for idk cassandra doesn’t acknowledge its existence. but also if they’ve had two books I’m not exactly sure if she’s writing more about them. DO NOT GET ME WRONG!!! misc: the thing is i feel like this project is very ambiguous bc the theme is just live and romance so it could be anything like people who were never officially couples. unrequited love is fun. kit and ty moment. but also they’re the focus of twp so im just not gonna go there and Cassie may not either. i was also thinking abt this and a malcolm and annabelle story would be reallyyy interesting. also they don’t really fit into one specific series but they’re around in tec,tmi and tda bc they’re awesome i would LOVE a Helen and aline centered story like tell me about their time on wrangel island because we know next to nothing about that seemingly important place and what the hell goes on there. and helen and aline get fuck all in these books. anyway. that’d be a good time. also like. she said there may be some spice . but like i want love confessions and silly goofy character moments and actual stories not just characters going at it yk. so liek what are the vibes here cassandra…

can't say i'm feeling social at this point, but i want to reiterate that i invite anyone who's got any misgivings or confusion towards anything i've said or done or allegedly said or done (or has any other meaningful reason) to come talk to me in good faith, particularly if u've been on the receiving end of surreptitiously delivered rumors.

since the inception of this blog around a year ago, i have always maintained that i am here striving to be as authentic as reasonably possible. i have repeatedly asserted that this journey (blogging here this way) is for me abt learning to integrate potentially problematic aspects of my self (born of both trauma imposed upon me AND my own past poor decisions/self-destructive tendencies) into a more positive whole.

if ur unfollowing me or judging me bc ppl r covertly talking shit, but u r not willing to bring ur concerns to me--the guy in question who is actually inviting dialogue without any of the skeezy subterfuge--i have to wonder what side u think ur on and what it is that u think ur serving in that.

i'd imagine some of u (probably not reading this) simply want to distance ur brand from any of that kinda noise, which aligns w the fact that by far most who have unfollowed (or simply not re-followed) have not blocked me n many continue to like or even reblog my posts. i get that. i still think it sucks, n i miss some of u nonetheless. if that's ur need for ur livelihood tho, i can't blame u for that. even so, i'm here if u'd care to talk.

maybe u think u know smth that's all u need to know. i highly doubt that, but if u'd prefer to wear blinders on that front i just hope u'll remember i was here offering to set the record straight n address any questions u might have one on one.

maybe ur influenced by a quite popular blogger who is now well into her 7th month of stalking, harassing, n slandering me. 7 fucking months(!) of publicly urging ppl not to reblog me, mischaracterizing me in direct opposition to my behavior, making claims that r the literal opposite of the facts, and even announcing n mocking my personal sexual business. oh, and celebrating any time one of my blogs gets termed or seems to be getting less activity.

r u wondering what i must've done to this poor girl to incite such retaliation? well, i did not fall in love w a parasocially obsessed anon and instead, once it was clear that we were not compatible (which was soon after we talked w her off anon), i told her directly that i do not want or expect anything from her n that she'd already given me too much. i even dissuaded her from sending me nudes. and, yes, i have receipts for all of that. in fact, one of the reasons i'm writing this message now is to sidestep my urge to publish that evidence (10-15 screenshots, audio, conversation exports etc) n demolish the reputation of a sentient being who is already clearly unhinged n has shown herself to be ill-equipped to handle reality.

anyway, fuck all that noise.

i'm here (and if i'm not here i'll be elsewhere) and continuing to strive to be a more authentic, worthwhile, understanding, reliable, compassionate, n generally together human being w each day. striving, i said. i fuck up a lot (maybe u don't, in which case i'm envious), but i'm pretty fucking pleased w the overall trend. doesn't mean u should be, n that's fine, but this is the best i have to offer. can't be good enough for everyone, n maybe if u were me u'd do it all differently. good thing u've got a u to do that w then n don't actually have to focus on me.

i have never claimed to be anything close to perfect, and i have personally n without external pressure volunteered plenty of my own shortcomings. i have routinely exposed no dearth of my own problematic characteristics in post after post. if u r someone who feels the need to invent more or to spin half truths bc u find some kind of satisfaction in vilifying n isolating me, that says a hell of a lot more abt u than it does abt me. and for whatever my opinion is worth to u behind ur facade, i think it makes u exactly the kind of person that many or most of us in this community r here trying to heal from.

all those stories, to have each and every one of them written down i feel like would be a beautiful thing. record keeping, storing that experience in an edible form, preserved for the future generations to study and cherish. imagine how many stories could be collected from not just 80 years of life, but 200? maybe more? imagine?

i LOVE characters that live to observe and document, keeping all their findings and knowledge and memories in tomes and records. i have several ocs that are functionally immortal, owning vast libraries holding all the knowledge of their lives. one of them is a man losing his memory, who has all his most vital memories tattooed onto his arms, so he will never forget what matters. FINN TIDESTRIDER. A MAGICIAN? WIZARD? SCIENTIST MAYBE. RESEARCHER ABSOLUTELY. CHRONICLER. LIBRARIAN. I HAD NO REAL STRUCTURE IN MIND FOR THIS POST. WHICH IS WHY ITLL SHOCK YA WHEN I BRING UP:

SEXUAL REPRESSION UNDER A CORRUPT RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION. MORMONISM AND SOME OTHER JESUS CENTERED RELIGIONS WILL TELL YOU THAT YOUR BODY IS A SACRED THING. i dont know if the undersea is Perfectly comparable to religions like that, but it is certainly a culture that upholds a very 'the elders are always right and must be followed'. polygamy is punishable by death, releasing spawn is a natural step after marriage, etc etc, i wouldnt be surprised to find that the undersea has a crazy Purity Culture thing going on. to live your whole long life down there, where so much is forbidden, and finally breaking into the surface world to explore the unknown, who knew your own body would be part of that 'unknown'?

EITHER WAY. to break free from an oppressive climate and finally having the chance to be sexually free. to finally be familiar with your own body and the bodies of others, to LEARN so much about what makes you and others tick, to experience a unique form of intimacy with another. while having sex is not a VITAL experience, to have the freedom and choice to explore that IS SO IMPORTANT...

sex isnt a disgusting thing, its not wrong and its not naughty its not sinful its not gross. but sex also is not sacred, its not a big important thing, its not vital. sex is JUST an activity. a fun thing to do with ur homies or someone youre close to. there are dangers of course, which is why KNOWLEDGE about it is such an important thing. ohhh my god i constantly have a huge ramble locked n loaded about sexual education but ill GET INTO THAT ANOTHER TIME.

TLDR i reaally like finn tidestrider because TO ME, he is not just a wacky funny old sex-having wizard. hes a man who lived a looong fuckin time under a religious climate that discouraged sexual exploration, and after he left, got to spend decades and decades of being FREE to explore. in MY heart.

i get like, haha funny old man yaoi, the shock of the old guy havin sloppy gay fuck sex, but yknow. i dont expect it but it would be neat i think if this sorta thing would ever be taken seriously and explored.

IDK its just like. i feel like people either tend to woobify him too much and turn him into a "uwu poor traumatized grandpa" OR they read too much into his arrogant voicelines and turn him into like. this cold aloof scientist, which he isnt either!! i feel like a lot of people lean either too strongly to one side or the other and forget that hes Actually very multi-faceted and complex!! probably the best ovw character in terms of personality out there!! (or they project mental illnesses onto him that he doesnt have but i feel like that was more pre-ovw2 fandom. but anyway) like i can understand having certain headcanons abt portraying him when he's like, pre-incident versus post (or au like rime sigma or ghost sigma or whatever) but a lot of the canon takes i see r just. weh. :(( like!!! yes he IS a brilliant scientist, yes he DOES take pride in his own work ("you've read my stuff? do you mind if i ask you what you thought of it?) BUT HE ALSO EXTENDS THAT TO OTHER SCIENTISTS ("dr. zhou, i've read your research. fascinating stuff!") im paraphrasing But You Get The Idea. like his pre-game chatter he's so sweet!! like when he compliments lucio on his music and asks him to turn it up or his friendship w sombra ("there you are, my friend!!")

but he Is also like, aggressive when he fights. i think he gets caught up in his own abilities + The Beauty Of Gravity that it inclines him to be so like, haughty. Do You Understand. like ofc this is a fighting game so his lines exist due to the nature of him existing in a fighting game. but i think it points to some other aspects of his personality anyway. & like compared to reaper or maybe even tracer who r Cursed by their abilities, sigma understands that although what happened was an accident and led to some unfortunate side effects, he's reveling in his new abilities and u can tell!! like his old ovw1 select quote ("the universe doesn't make sense to you.") implies that the universe makes sense to him, and he's pleased that this puts him a step above everyone else (at least where his research is concerned) like ok i think im babbling here But Like. he considers himself the master of his field of science and that's where all his arrogance comes from

i think ovw2 really heightened the whole "hey this man aint right" aspect of his personality but imo they did it in not the best way bc it comes off as him being a little senile versus Being Obliterated By Gravity. i do like the new line he has w mercy where he mistakenly thinks they're still going out for dinner (warped timelines due to spacetime distortion) but the interaction w 76 where he gets distracted by an ant on the ceiling is cute but imo not fitting. unless they really want to play up sigma's age

i Do appreciate the sombra interactions though where she's obviously looking out for him + the one where baptiste says talon is using him and sigma kind of tries to refute him bc it shows that hes being soooooooo manipulated which is sad :(( but then i think that's where some people tend to misunderstand bc like. sigma could easily break out. and do shit (im assuming) if he just Realized. its not bc he isnt strong enough or capable its bc he literally Does Not Realize He Is Trapped (i.e. his fish in the water line or whatever).

i thiiink i have a license for clip studio paint that came with my old wacom tablet but i never rly used it. also used to have krita installed for the longest time but just always felt off to me idk why. don't currently have it installed anymore tho

2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)

to their right is a bit easier i think. not smth i consciously notice, mostly i'm just thinking abt when im doodling on the margins of stuff they usually are looking to the left of the page

uhhh idk tbh, i dont think much of my art draws from that

cityscapes !!! i love cities they r so pretty and cool looking but goddamn theyre so hard to draw

80-20? i post everything that i finish. basically the only stuff that doesnt get posted is sketches i give up on

yeah, often i use a multiple layer for shading then a variety to colour adjust at the end

do you miss your dad in a quantitive way? ive recently lost someone close to me and it hurts but you seem to be coping so well even tho its been years

i think a whole lot of it has to do with some of my own illnesses/disabilities (especially autism and SZPD), actually, as well as a severely trauma-ridden life..so i guess the """""""short"""""""" version (literally this fucking essay IS a short rundown) of the deal is this:

not only was i born with a predisposition for emotional scarcity, but also live the damage done by a life so harsh it just drains you of the more basic human emotions. i think that's why i'm so obsessed with math? everything is an equation to me. now, i loved my dad more than anybody on earth, but i don't know what "grief" means since i wasn't equipped with it, i don't think i know what it means to be "sad" (i'm recalling this old journal entry in which i said i was jealous of people who got sad, cuz like their mom died or they had a breakup or put their dog down etc. because my definition of the word "sadness" portrays it as a state of being with an inherent end-point, and good god did i wish i could be sad for that fact alone (i still have that journal, i can post that page or others if anybody wants, it's probably explained better there). the last time i cried was in drug detox like 3 years ago and that was due simply to the physical pain of opiate withdrawal. otherwise i straight up CANNOT cry, it's like i'm physically incapable of it. i think the ability has been taken.

it would make sense to cry over my dad, that exact moment while i was talking to him and felt life exit and soften the hand i was holding; at the moment we were looking each other in the eye and then suddenly..weren't. no tears; the mathematical equation had just been completed- when you become an adult it is the natural progression of things and has been for millennia. it made sense, it added up.

maybe, for weeks to come, it looked to others like i was repressing my Sadness (my WHAT?), that i wasn't letting myself Mourn (umm i don't think anyone ever taught me that ability?) but i'm still like that to this day. personally i just appreciate that i had him as a father, that he cared for me while my mother worked, taking me out for fun little adventures. i love that i had a father who so openly showed his love for me, was affectionate and never closed-off, and also he was brilliant and hilarious. moving on, i appreciate that the remainder of his life post-diagnosis was bright, that he moved in with us, that he and i got to be close again, that he continued with his passions. i hope you can gather past memories/positive facts to be seen through this kind of lens that eases your hurt.

i'm proud that i was the one to take care of him, driving him to and staying around for every single chemo session, sitting up next to his bed where he'd watch me draw in amazement. i'm delighted that the very last thing he felt while still a living human was my hand on his, that the very last thing he ever saw was my smiling face, that the last thing he ever heard was my voice. that's enough for me. i don't understand why i should feel hurt. i have plenty of "oh man i wish my dad could see this drawing!/hear about this stupid thing i did today!/etc but i mean..hey, i wish a lot of things! i wish i lived with mobius in a little house in maine! i wish there weren't so many dirty dishes in the sink right now! i wish my skin didn't get so dry no matter what i do why is it so fucking dry! i don't dwell. maybe the fact that i can't feel sadness and loss and whatever but am still able to feel love and affection work out in this case.

all that being said though, i wouldn't call any of this "coping well"- i just never HAD to cope. and i wanna make sure this doesn't come off as braggy abt how Strong i am or make you feel jealous for how i handled this loss!! like i come on here for people and content and i cuz i think i'm funny but the downside is it can project an inaccurate picture. like even if you've read the worst of the worst about my life and self i've cared to mention here over the years you've still only read the children's edition. if anybody ASKED for a real rundown i'd be totally fine writing that dissertation and pop some pics in for extra fun but i'm not the kind of person who whines all woe is me on their social media as if everyone cares lmao

so this is how i feel about sam (and also colby to some extent): i don't think either one of them is mean or has ill intent with whatever opinion they have. i do, however, believe that a lot of their thoughts are very much in a vacuum, if that makes sense. like, as much as they (to some degree) brag about being deep thinkers and whatnot, i think a lot of their philosophies are simple and basic, borderline inspirational office posters-esque. while the intention is there, the execution is empty. i think part of that is bc (and this is a huge assumption bc i don't know their life before la) is that neither one of them struggled. yeah, they got bullied in hs and maybe middle school. sure, they were awkward and couldn't talk to ppl. but other than that? i don't think they struggled whatsoever.

and that's not to say that i wanted them to, but when you do go thru hardships, it puts so much more into perspective. your empathy grows for ppl that are in situations like yourself or even worse.

snc surround themselves (to the best of my knowledge and assumptions) with pretty, rich ppl who haven't truly struggled. or if they did struggle they either don't talk about it, paint a rose colored version of it, or are bitter from it and now look down on those that were once in their position. most of the books that snc have recommend are basically self-help books pushed by ppl who just want to make money and give empty words to do so.

i implore snc to explore outside of their tax bracket when it comes to ppl's struggles and hardships. ask ppl who are actually struggling what life is like. one of the things i always hated about snc and when they were really into metalife/TLP was they repeatedly would say "life's a game and it's beatable". while that's a cute theory, some ppl play on hard mode, sometimes that being the only option. and then other's get easy mode with cheat codes on the side. and then some don't even know how to turn on the game in the first place. it's the same bs that ppl push of "we all have the same 24 hours". no the fuck we don't lol

they have a very idealized version of the world that i wish for even a millisecond to be a part of, bc that sure as hell sounds nicer than what i have. and i'm not even that worse off.

i'm not angry at snc or sam for thinking the way they do. it's just tiring to hear on the days my life sucks absolute ass.
